Canadian Sister! I haven't got the chance for any of the others ones yet, so maybe this one will be mine. Perhaps I'll paint the Fleur de Lys on her blue to get a bit of that Quebec representation on her too. And if I can manage it maybe a maple leaf on her skirt piece.
>>
>>8974861
And thus was born "Canoness Canuck."
>>
>>8974861
>Canadian Sister!
Which makes the first one Spawn Sister and the Platinum missing one Klan Sister?
>>
>>8974841
where's my goddamn blue space marine? also the flayed one looks better, shouldve waited for that.
>>
Sigh any signs of the lieutenant at tru?
>>
>>8975003
Hey bud, as one of us says every thread, we'll post it when it's listed. It took a while for the first wave of them to show up on TRU when they showed up in the US, so I assume it'll be much the same this time. I'd expect a release in the summer or the fall.
>>
>>8974841
Someone is definitely going to paint the skin on the AP black.

Look at all the gold on her. Maybe the next Warhammer Gold Label figure.

It is a bit strange, this is the first Warhammer figure that's a straight repaint (besides a some of the APs).

Is this the original Necron worth getting? I passed on the original but the flayed one makes me want one.

it's alright
the gun is a bit too heavy for it but if you can figure out how to work with the weight you can pose it fine
>>

I like it a lot. In terms of posing it's pretty uninhibited, so I'd grab one if you can find it.

I don't really know Warhammer lore but i am loving these APs. There's just something about plain full articulated figures that just scratches an itch i didn't know I had
>>
>>8975607
Since you're into APs, apparently Todd likes them just as much as you because he's planning on introducing them into other lines as chase figures (he said they'd be the hardest figures in terms of variants to get, so...).

Artist Proof. In this context, the fully grey versions of figures, like the Necron figure on the left in the OP. Pic related also.

Who else investing in ToddAP here?
>>
>>8975645
Oh. I've never seen them at MRP.
>>
>>8975555
It's probably completely up in the air but coming from star wars figures they restock a few times although obviously hasbro is a lot bigger than mcfarlane so there's no saying if it'll be a similar situation or not.
>>
>>8975646
You must be really, really proud of those boxes since you find a way to post a pic of them in literally every warhammer thread
>>
I am so disappointed. When I heard about a Sister figure I was hoping it would be like >>8975286, not this clunky helmeted thing >>8974841

>>
>>8975735
You could use Ciri's head, might work as a Sister.
>>
>>8974841
>same weapon set
Well, guess I'm passing on this sister

Flayed one definitely looks nice though, I hope the skin doesn't look too fake, this should be Todd's bread and butter..
>>
>>8975776
Nice, I'm glad they are making more Witcher figures. I got the Geralt and he's pretty damn good. Hopefully its just a bad picture though because something about Ciri feels off.
>>
>>8975560
The first wave had the Necron, the second wave had the Sister, and the third wave is all non-Primaris

>>
>>8975945
Though on second look, the colors are wrong. Bloody Rose is black robe with white lining, not solid white robe.
>>
>>8976043
It's probably easier to fix that than to repaint the entire figure.

I'm interested in this line, but I don't know shit about Warhammer. Would you guys say these are good toys in general, without lore knowledge? And are there decent books to read rather than getting balls-deep into tabletop gaming to understand the series, when I just want cool chunky space marines?
>>
>>8976137
>Would you guys say these are good toys in general, without lore knowledge?
I mean, if you're into military sci-fi or science fantasy, sure. They have really good articulation for McFarlane figures.
>And are there decent books to read
Caphias Cain books.
>>
>>8976137
>Would you guys say these are good toys in general, without lore knowledge?
Yes. If a thing looks cool and you want to get it, get it. If you want to learn about the lore and stuff later, then go for it.
>>
>>8976137
I only really know about warhammer from random youtube videos but I've bought 2 spess marines so far partly so I could switch their helmets and color code them despite that probably being a heretical act. You're not really gonna get crazy action poses out of them but their presence just standing there is pretty fantastic by itself.
>>
>>8976177
They do. You can pretty much do what you want mixing parts, just have fun with it. A lot of it gets down to customization as you get deeper into it for each group.
>>
>>8976177
>>8976160
>>8976153
Alright, thanks anons. My concern now is that the blue Intercessor guy seems to be out of stock everywhere and scalped for almost 200% MSRP. I assume it's an important unit since it's one of the first releases. Should I track one down for as cheap as I can find, or just pass and grab the red guy, Necron, and Battle Sister?
>>
>>8976249
>I assume it's an important unit
Its a pretty standard unit of the baseline poster boy faction of Space Marines. There are 2 new Space Marines that are hitting stores now, but one is an Exclusive. 3 if you count the grey Artist Proof ones, but I doubt you will go for that as you're first purchase.

Alright, out of pure boredom and feeling like sharing interesting shit for any newbies who are interested what is everyone's favorite Chapter/Legion/Fatcion etc. What do you want to see McFarlane make, provided they aren't being pigeonhold into doing stuff that GW is releasing in the current Codex.

Hoping for some Terminator Armor, Chaos and Orks from McFarlane.

Imperial Guard: Death Corps of Krieg, Catachans

Xenos: Genestealer, Broodlord, Hybrids
>>
>>8976249
The first thing to learn about Warhammer is that only secondaries give a fuck about the Ultramarines. You're supposed to "your dudes" the shit out of your army which was the entire reason there was such a high demand for artist proofs when they launched the line.

>>8976293
It all depends on if they're going to insist on keeping to scale. If not, I want an XV-8 Crisis Suit.

Otherwise, I want a Sisters Zephyrim in BR colors.
>>
>>8976293
Seconded on the Night Lord CSM. If they made any CSM I might look into getting it honestly. The muhreens and Necrons don't do it for me and I couldn't possibly give less of a shit about battle cunts than I already do. Give me a cool Night Lord or Word Bearer or something.
>>
>>8976253
Is the exclusive the lieutenant guy? Because it seems he's already being scalped. I guess I'll take it a bit easy with this line, since I was a little too late looking into it.

>>8976327
Well, I'm definitely a secondary myself. Is the idea to paint the Artist Proofs like you would a miniature? That's definitely beyond my level. I've only painted a couple Bandai Star Wars vehicle models before, and I wasn't very good at it.
>>
>>8976360
>Is the idea to paint the Artist Proofs like you would a miniature?
More or less yeah. I'd say give it a try at some point. There's something fun and satisfying about painting a figure, even if its kind of a weak hack job.
>>
>>8976301
>Imperial Guard: Death Corps of Krieg, Catachans
As much as I love the Guard, I really, really, really do not want McFarlane to make them, because I don't trust them to attempt to keep the scale correct. That's why I'm working on making Guardsmen armor to make my own, and maybe sell if people want em. I gotta get off my ass before TMM starts doing them though.

Got my stuff from TMM in. A version 1 Sister head, a He-Marine head, and a sweet, sweet saxophone. I paid on Sunday. They were here on Saturday. And hey, TMM threw in an extra plasma pistol! That was really nice! Thank you, TMM!

These are my first 3-d printed items I've ever purchased and I was surprised at the durable quality of the items. I accidentally dropped the sister head onto my hardwood floor, but she bounced and was no worse for the wear. There's also no "line layers" you see on some other 3D printed stuff. So these parts don't need any sanding or filling.

So a good experience overall. Can't wait to prime & paint these parts. Thanks again, TMM!

My girlfriend is picking the color scheme. At the moment, the main armor is going to be dark purple and tarnished silver, the robes are going to be burgundy, and the rosary is going to be turquoise. There's also going to be a LOT of blood splatter, as she really likes horror movies.

Great, great figure. A steal at $20.

I did shave off a tiny amount where the elbows connect to increase articulation, but (so far) only the tiniest amount. Definitely getting other variations they'll put out.
>>
>>8984706
couldnt you have just heated up the part and bent it back in places to look like ripped metal without cutting?
>>
>>8984768
I don't think you can actually even see where I cut in the pictures, it's so small. The way the upper and lower arm are constructed, just shaving a sliver off where they meet when the elbows are bent gives you several more degrees of movement.

>My Bandai Salamander was delivered today
>The Blood Angel cost 1/5th of the Salamander, and has more molded details, and better accessories
Glad I didn't go all-in on these Bandai marines, they are not worth it. There are uncleaned sprue marks all over this Salamander. Feels like a GunPla someone made.
>>
>>8985122
they're both mixed bags desu.

Bandai marines have great articulation, but are seriously lacking in sculpt detail for being so expensive. The accessory choices are also a bit baffling, like not having a flamer/melta for the Salamander.

McFarlane marines have nice sculpt detail, but the articulation is way below the quality of the Bandai marines (which makes sense for the price point). That said, there are some baffling decisions, like not giving a panel wash which would make them look 10x better with very little cost to the company. It's especially egregious on the Lieutenant, which has a fantastic sculpt but still looks cheap because of the lack of wash/paint apps on the gold pieces.

If you consider the market for these things, paint really isn't a deal breaker for the $20 figure. I don't feel like the Bandai Marine has particularly impressive articulation, though I do like the hard plastic that it is made out of. The quality control on it is unacceptable however (look at this shit), and the painted details look ridiculously cheap.

I mean... even their Gundam Universe figures, which are in the same price range as those McFarlane marines, are literally better than these Bandai marines. >>
>>8987689
Word from Gunpla and general Bandai toy collectors is that Bandai premium really started cutting corners about a year and a half ago. Everyone's super confused because regular Bandai's recent gunpla offerings have been amazing. There's some kind of amusing speculation that they put even -less- effort in since 40k is a non-japanese brand. I wonder if we make enough noise at Games Workshop that they'd do something about it.
>>
>>8987718
Seems unlikely, their other Western brand stuff is usually pretty good- maybe it's because it's not massively popular in Japan? Star Wars and Marvel stuff is guaranteed to sell in Japan or the West. 40K is more niche in Japan, so presumably they didn't spend too much money on the production for something that might not sell well in its home market.
A shame, the Ultramarine and the Imperial Fist seemed to be much better built than the Salamander.
I will say, having handled a McFarlane and a Bandai Marine, the Bandai one is definitely the better toy by a mile. McFarlane's is good, and the fact it's pretty inexpensive makes it a joy for customizers. It's probably the best thing they've ever put out, but that really isn't saying much.
>>
>>8987718
>Word from Gunpla and general Bandai toy collectors is that Bandai premium really started cutting corners about a year and a half ago.
From the sounds of their WH40k figures, it sounds exactly like their Robot Damashi toyline, which has always felt like someone built a kit and called it a day. Little to no paint and extremely hollow feeling.
The entire RD line has always felt like a $20 action figure line.

The figuarts line also had cost cutting measures, like faceprinting tech.

So things like flashing not being sanded down is a relatively minor thing compared to the larger issues Bandai has always had.
>>

"As of May 1, international shipping is available but takes a couple extra steps. Because everything I sell is a different size and weight there was no easy way to get an accurate shipping cost and this method will make sure you don't get overcharged.
International customers interested in items can please follow these steps:
- Send me a message via Ebay with a list of items you would like to buy.
- I will create a new listing and send you the link to it with just those items. The cost will be the same item cost listed here, the difference is that I will pre-package the items to get an accurate shipping size and weight. Please note that your address must be a valid one to ship to in the Ebay Global Shipping program and I have no control over what addresses can or cannot be shipped to. The second listing will have the same terms as this one.
- You can then see the accurate shipping and import costs and choose to purchase this separate listing or not.
- I will be shipping the item to an Ebay distribution center and then it will be sent to you via the Global Shipping program. Please be aware that international shipments may take a long time to arrive."

As neat as she is, this is a fair "Platinum"/Chase figure, as much as I'd rather there not be such a thing to begin with. So is the silver Gorilla Grodd. On the MHA side, All For One got a release with a differently sculpted head and regular arm, rather than his quirk arm. It'd be like having a say that regular blue Marine with a regular rifle, then a chase one with a beakie helmet where that helmet is only available there (at this point, anyways, we don't know if that AFO will be rereleased somehow).
>>
>>8995478

>>8995482
I think chase figures in an army builder line in general is a bad choice because there's an actual place for them there. And I heard the regular all for one was gonna be a gold label, but even if he was a chase, that's way more in line with what I imagine it to be: something for completionists to look for. Hell, I ended up with one of his bronze DC figures, and I almost returned it to amazon for a normal one because I had no use for it.
If it's a question of wanting to get one out and not really having an extra slot for her, I kind of get it, but just change the ratios to like a 1/4 or something. I know it's a new release, but I've been watching everywhere for one to show up and they've gotta be EXTREMELY rare.
>>
>>8995506
I think the bronze figures (and soon to the APs for other lines besides just Warhammer) were the ideal chase figures. Not something anybody would actually need for their collection. But I guess my main concern is that the chase figures were generally all just repaints, I wouldn't want them to start introducing new parts to them, like in the case of the AFO. If there were different ratios, then fine. Like say, a bronze or AP chase would be 1/8 cases, while something like the sister here, would be 1/2 or 1/3 cases, replacing one of the black sisters in every other or every 3 cases. That way it's still 'rare' but not unreasonably so.

Like I said at the start though, I'd rather chase figures be limited to the kinds that aren't 'needed', or frankly not at all. It just doesn't feel necessary anymore. And doing it this Amazon way, I can't help but feel people might just order a bunch of them, then return all the non-chases, which I can't imagine is something Amazon would much care for.

Looking at the figure, there has to be a mix of black series parts to make the perfect guardsman. If he had a clone trooper upper torso, shins that are more boot-like, unarmored forearms, and an unarmored gut with shirt flaps he'd be perfect.
>>
>>8997587
Those people probably don’t own any. I have the Ultramarine and the Imperial Fist, and I’m generally very happy with both. Something that gets lost in the shuffle of idiots comparing them to RD figures is that RDs are comparatively tiny; I have an almost complete Patlabor RD collection and a load of the ANIME releases, and I’d estimate the Space Marine to be roughly four times the mass of the average RD.

>>

A shot from the front gives off Power Feet vibes, because they had to add to the legs in order to increase the height of the figure, but they just added height to the lower legs and not the thighs. And the arms are unchanged so they come off as stumpy. I get what they were trying to go for, but I think a Custodes that is the same size would have been fine.

That stuff aside, it does look really fucking cool for the most part.

Their articulation is pretty similar, but they’re both Bandai products so I guess that’s to be expected. They’re definitely more painted than the average RD, with the airbrushing and satin finish on the armour sections. I’m disappointed the eyes weren’t clear lenses with a silver backing for the money. They also feel a little light on accessories (hands, knife, gun - backpack doesn’t count), although I will concede that the guns are HUGE even by 40k standards. I decided to skip the White Scar, but if Bandai ever did a Blood Angel with either a plasma gun or plasma pistol and chainsword I’d be down for that. They really need to make more weapons and some helmet variants if they plan to continue the line.

Looks like you fixed the lips. Very nice. The hair is great the way it fades between colors. Was it done with an airbrush?
>>
>>9002481
looking real good.
>>
>>9002539
I appreciate it! No airbrush, just basic drybrushing. IIRC, I based the area in Naggaroth Night, then layered a bit of Khorne Red from the top of the hair to about halfway down, then dry-brushed Genestealer Purple from the bottom to about 3/4 up, then Screamer Pink from the top.

Much obliged, Anon!

Every day, I am both excited and dreading when my Imperial Fist shows up.

I'm not good with painting, but I really do want to give it the old college try for trying to fix him up.
>>

they will tell you buying a box or two of space marine miniatures will magically fix it

Awesome so far!

Not a huge fan of the Bandai marine but I like the bigger rifle for sure. I sacrificed some sleep to make remodel one at the same size which seems massive. The peg under the barrel can mount a grenade launcher or bayonet too

Can't wait for this. Also, what printers and resins do you use?

Started work on the guitar, unfortunately the only guitar I had lying around to chop up and merge with the bits of the bolter was a Figma scale one which looks a bit puny. Should I use putty/styrene or whatever to just expand the size of the guitar body or just look for a bigger guitar? Would the McFarlane Johnny Silverhand's guitar be the right size?

What I have so far, with a test mounting set up for the swappable claw. Vambrace will be baroque'd up a bit and this is very WIP still of course but I'm quite fond of the pincer.

>wait 15 years for new Redemptionist models
>finally get a new necromunda
>it's a glorified board game with none of the depth of the original which was basically just 2e 40k but with progression
>they make new redemptionists
>vaguely sort of match the old aesthetic but take out the hats
>the kits are all monopose anyways

can't describe how much I fucking hate 40k in current year, it ain't even a shadow of what it was in 2017 let alone in the glory years

Thoughts exactly, yet i think the new Redemptionists are usable with a possessed head swap.
>>
i wish i liked TMMs heads, but they all seem to narrow, or have weird extra details that i didnt ask for...
>>
>>9004665
Ask if he can take some of that stuff off. I asked him about doing the Scopes head without the visor and light thing and he did. Its the Marine 2 head on his page now. As for feeling to narrow, I see what you mean but only with the Beakie and the Marine 1 head. Every other head seems to be the right size.
>>
>>9003561
hoping to see this n plasma pistols soon
>>
>>9004698
From TMM? He's made them. I have a Plasma Pistol and an Auto Bolter I got from him. I don't know why they aren't on his store page, but he has made them.
