Received SHODO Super Silver yesterday. It's my first SS and I'm a little disappointed. Not only it's really small (of course I read the listed size but, in hand, you realize how small that really is) but the movement range is also severely limited. Way too expensive for what it is.

I'm cancelling the SS Bioman set and getting back to praying for the miraculous return of sentai and metal hero SHFs. Stand-ins suck.

How quick does Bandai pull out of a bad idea once people report it? I have hopes of it being relatively quick with >>8976501 since they made Vegeta have a cloth body suit instead.
>>
>>8976523
Saw this pic from some Hong Kong group. A few Japanese reviewers have also posted pics of theirs, similar issue. This was just an incredibly dumb move from Bandai, pretty much everyone was worried about this the moment they used this as a selling point. Flexible rubbery parts over joints have never turned out well for the toys’ durability or even poseability. They could have achieved the same detail with sculpted parts, idiotic move to go for a material that’s always been known to eventually have this issue.
>>
>>8976537
Vegeta has cloth because those parts are covered by a costume in the source design. I doubt Tiga would change, toys go into factory production as far ahead as 10 months before release. The dumb thing is this was completely predictable even by consumers. Crazy idiotic how the biggest toy company out there who’ve churned out thousands of different collector level products still went ahead with this.

ISn't the problem here just the fact that this material they're using isn't some miracle new rubber that everyone thought was going to change the industry, since any rubber, thin rubber especially, that flexes will always deteriorate?

Why would anyone believe that Bandai would release something like this and, only after complaints, would create that miracle rubber on their second try?
At best, Bandai could use a longer lasting rubber, but that figure would be borked 2 or 5 years from now.

I don't know why people actually expected a miracle rubber in the first place. I can understand dumb people who know nothing would think everything would be great, but everyone else who knows any rubber product should know by now to expect failure... albeit not immediately.

Full Cart is it's own maker and SHF Upgrade pairs with them to put his products up too.

Stellar stuff that fixes the issues Bandai shouldn't be having like Paint/Decal missing on Ride Watches/Progrise Keys, Proper silver and detailed Saber Swords and soft goods/bendy wire capes for Riders.

I mean I guess a number of ppl were expecting the same material that Figma uses in a lot of their figures. Well, I knew it was gonna happen to Black since his was in his armpit, you know, where it REQUIRES moving the arm out potentially stretching it? That, admittedly, is pretty stupid.

>>8977277
Tiga, however, has the soft plastic tech thing on his ENTIRE TORSO. Like I said, I think some anons thought it'd be the same material as what Figma uses, cuz pic related is kinda similar in that it also as a soft body torso and it hasn't had a problem.

But, we'll just have to see once Tiga comes out.

>the same material that Figma uses in a lot of their figures.
But on Figmas doesn't fully encapsulates the joint though. The only stretching that's going on is when you're pushing against it. It's relatively loose because of how its engineered, giving it plenty of room to stretch.
The stuff we're seeing on this Bandai figure is every motion stretches the silicone or rubber. It has to be tight against the joint or else it'll look wrong.

Even if they were the same material, the bandai joint would still look worse for it. It's akin to how the toe part of a leather shoe will look all creased up (bandai figure), whereas the area where the ankle is will still look almost brand new (Figma). Same leather, but it'll wear out differently because of where it's placed.
>>
>>8979058
Figured that was the case. Real disappointment. It's not a HUGE problem for Black since he's soft plastic bit is only having problems at his armpits so far, so I can see someone filling that gap with some cloth or something, but Tiga will definitely suffer cuz it's his entire torso.

There are 95 releases I want. Fuck.

I guess I should prioritize Shinkocchou Seihou ones since others may get the SS treatment later. What do you think?
>>
>>8979402
i dont know why anyone would ever want to be a kamen rider completionist, but prioritize the ones you feel an attachment to (because you liked the show and character more than others, etc)

but if you're gonna be a completionist (please don't), yeah, prioritize seihou because their prices get worse and there's not upgrades on top of those

i hope you have a well-paying job
>>
>>8979427

Looking at Kiramager and Zenkaiger, I'm starting to think that PLEX is going for shitty automorph gimmicks in lieu of actual combinations. The latest Zenkaiger mech doesn't even connect to the rest already out.
>>
>>8980875
It's because they're putting less effort into the franchise since Ryusoulless flopped hard
>>
I saw some Chinese users on Twitter saying they removed Double off the May releases or preorder list. What gives? I thought he was getting a reissue.
>>
>>8980875
The point of Kiramager was to make them all stand alone mech so kids could just pick up their favourites instead of feeling pressured into buying everything to make the final combination. Japanese apartments simply don't have space for toys that big anymore and parents don't want to spend that much in sentai toys as well
>>

Not from the same person. The figure is indeed shit like all figures with soft plastic. Toy makers simply don't care.
>>
>>8981023
This is definitely worrying that it's happening so soon. I figured it'd be a situation where you keep it on the shelf for two or three and then it disintegrates the next time you try to move it, not QC issues right out of the gate.
>>
>>8981618
It's not QC, it's just a shitty rubbery plastic that would eventually break and crack regardless.
With how thin, stretchy and bendy that part is, you could tell it wouldn't survive more than a few days hours of play.
>>
https://youtu.be/ZPTUJtkAftc
>>
>>8981704
the flesh of the shoulders looks awesome, it's a shame that the rubber cracks
>>
>>8981704
that reviewer has the right idea. 1/6 collectors have dealt with this for years. just use 303 aerospace protectant every three months on rubber and pleather. everything requires maintenance -- some stuff more than others, but we also have threads about keeping plastic from degrading. collectibles require upkeep and care
>>
So Realizing Hopper doesn’t have any of the QC issues that plagued recent releases?
>>
>>8981861
Do you think it's best to apply that immediately after getting the figure?
>>
>>8981928
Judging by how it exploded right out of box, I’d say Bandai miscalculated it’s joints and the rubber strength so no amount of oil will save you.
It’s just like how neo decade, kabuto and the old sic have exploding joints.
>>
>>8981928
Yes, because when you first get a figure, it's probably been sitting in warehouses, shipping containers, and store shelves for at least a month.
>>
>>8981861
Agreed but personally rubber and pleather are too much maintenance for me. I don't mind dusting plastic figures and keeping them away from UV. So I'd prefer if 1/12 didn't start using common 1/6 techniques

But as climate change ramps up this will become an issue in other ways. I suspect in a decade or two we'll look back and wonder why we thought twenty million capeshit figures that can't naturally degrade was a good idea. Everyone says "they're collectibles, you're supposed to display them forever" but 99% of plastic figures are flavor-of-the-month shit no one cares about longer than a week. In the mean time I'll enjoy my plastic bugmen
>>
>>8981969
This is probably correct, putting rubber that thin over a joint that small with the degree of articulation it has is a terrible idea. Ultraman Tiga will probably turn out better (if you keep it up correctly) because it's not directly over a fucking joint.
>>
What poses are people putting Black in that's causing the rubber to tear? The only things I can think of that use his arms heavily are his trademark pose, and some punching poses.
>>
>>8981861
Please be a troll.
>>
>>8982037
It doesn't matter, the figure should be able to be put in any pose you want without it tearing.
>>
>>8980886
You might be right there.

>>8981001
I don't know about that. Some final combination mechs aren't really that big. They could have done it Boukenger style, the complete combo of that one was relatively small compared to the rest. But even then, why would they do something like that? Do they want to make less money? The point of a sentai series is to sell every mech.
>>
>>8982115
Why would it be a troll? He's right. Literally any collectible that isn't 100% plastic will degrade, and even plastic will degrade if it's not kept in a temperature controlled environment away from UV. The only question is if you're okay with the relative effort of maintenance, which with delicate shit like rubber, it's pretty understandable if you aren't. I hate that shit personally, I didn't preorder Black or Tiga for that reason
>>
>>8982388
>The point of a sentai series is to sell every mech.
The sales aren't what they used to be, parents no longer buy their kids every single mech, there's more competition than ever before if the final combination requires every single mech the kids are fucked if they missed out on one because they wanted another toy instead at the time
>>
>cashed in my loyalty points and got shining assault hopper and Accel for £78.09 new with postage.

Any good happenings my guys?
>>
>>8982399
No, he's not right. Having to "perform maintenance" every 3 months on a figure is beyond retarded. I have 40 years old toys that are still perfectly fine with no maintenance at all. This is a fucking toy, not a bonzai.
>>
Do you guys think there's still a chance for SHFSS of the rest of the Kabuto line up? I know the last Kabuto release was a while ago but I don't really follow the news about other Riders so I don't really know if there's precedence for Bandai stopping making SS of a particular show then going back at it years later.
>>
>>8982507
i'd say so, there doesn't seem to be rules for how many riders come from each series since kiva got its secondary rider a year after release and dark kiva this year

just don't expect god speed love riders anytime soon, even if there aren't rules for SS releases they're more likely to release from the main cast
>>
>>8982500
Ok. Do any of your forty year old toys have rubber or pleather on them? What about vac metal? Are they plushies? I've taken great care of my "Pet Monster" from the 80s and the feet look like shit. No? They're just plastic? Then what he said is accurate. There's no magical material that doesn't degrade unless it's made completely out of plastic.
>>
>>8982586
And if your argument is "every figure should be made out of plastic because it's stupid to have to maintain rubber and pleather on articulated toys," then I agree with you, dumbass. Seihou should stick to plastic unless the other materials are only covering a part that doesn't articulate.
>>
>>8982586
>Do any of your forty year old toys have rubber or pleather
No, because they weren't made by retards.
>vac metal
Yes, and it's still pristine.

>what he said is accurate.
No you fucking dumbshit because there's absolutely no reason to use such shitty materials.
>>
>>8982612
There are reasons to use shitty materials, like seamless joints. If there weren't reasons, no companies would do it. The price of using those materials is having to maintain the collectibles, which some collectors are fine with doing. I agree with you that those collectors are retards, I don't like to lube up my toys every few weeks. You really have a problem grasping basic logic.
>>
>>8982617
>You really have a problem grasping basic logic.
Says the autist not understanding a single post he's replying to.
>>
>>8982586
Nobody's saying what >>8981861 said about pleather maintenance was wrong. What's wrong is defending products that aren't made to last when they could be made to last simply by not making stupid decisions like using pleather.
>>
>>8982583
Thanks. I guess SS TheBee, Drake and Sasword would be a great plus to what's released already but yeah, Caucasus is the one I would really like to see in SS form.
>>
>>8982645
unless its lego, funko pops, completely plastic figures, or statues made entirely out of resin, most things aren't made to last. the only reason you dont see more discussions about upkeep on this board is because everyone collects lego, model kits, and 1/12 figures

>most things aren't made to last.
No, it's the opposite. Most collectibles don't require more upkeep than the basic 'room temperature, stay away from humidity, don't expose to UV, dust once in a while'.
Years ago Bandai revealed fully seamless Figuarts at a Tamashii Nations to show off the new technology (nothing came to fruition until now I guess) and people were rightfully shitting on it because no body wants this kind of material on a mid-end action figure toyline.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bandai ditches this material like they've done with the "2.0" wrist design on SHFSS Kabuto/Gatack
>>
>>8982723
well Black sold out everywhere instantly so hopefully Bandai listens to feedback and not just sales
>>
>>8982740
I don't know how durable Black's shoulders are, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Japan/Asia market sent complaints about tearing the material after overextending the range. There are collectors who aren't familiar with the nature of this material because it's rarely ever used for toylines that aren't 1/6 or larger.

Fuck, I don't collect 1/6 and I never even knew you had to maintain the damn figure's soft plastic. And I'm sure people wouldn't know that you had to lubricate Black until it's too late and the inevitable happens.
>>
>>8982787

How nice of Tamashii to give him the Thousand Jacker
>>
>>8988680
even has the hell rising hopper progrise key in there
>>
>>8988670
Probably will get that one later. X-Swordman is easier to engineer, I guess.

Okay?

I guess they could've included it since it was the catalyst for making the Hell Rise Key, sure. More importantly, when's Lucifer?
>>
>>8988670
I can see this being a Tamashii event exclusive.
>>
>>8988680
Will it come with the effect piece for the time limit?

>sold out
God dam it hope tokullectible puts it up
>>
>>8988850
Yes, it's listed on the page.
>>8988837
Aren't Event Exclusives usually a main rider/character? Besides Diend, I guess. I'm betting Primitive is that exclusive, seeing as he fits the trend of "Transitionary" forms along with Shining Hopper, and RT Hazard.
>>
>>8988858
I always thought Tamashii event exclusives were black forms, they had Genm for example as exclusive.

>>

Black repaints of the main rider, I guess. Genm, Proto-Drive, and Diend being examples, I guess?
>>
>>8988878
That is true, it's a easy repaint for them. I would be happy with Primitive.

Has anyone gotten this? I haven't seen pictures of how it looks on the actual DX.

On it's way to me finally after a week lol
I'll make a post when I get it
>>
>>8989081
>>8989085
Wait, isn't it releasing in like september?
>>
>>8989088

There's pics underneath the main one in your screenshot. It looks better but is a lot thinner than it is in the show. No real getting around that without replacing the entire sword
>>
I wonder how long it'll be before we get third party replacement parts for Black and Tiga made of proper plastic
>>
>>8989484
A cloth replacement probably for Black, probably not long for that one. Tiga probably a month or two after he releases.
>>
Tokullectibles never shipped my SHF-Upgrade Alpha Chain Blade
>>
>>8989506

Your first and only mistake was buying from Tokullectibles. Lemme guess all the famous people already have it?
>>
>>8989529
Say what you want about tokullectibles, they're still better than nin-nin-game.
>>
>>8989081
Link?
>>
Anyone know if there is a difference between the 2012 release for the medicom blade rah and the 2017 one?
>>
>>8988736
I get what they were going for with Lucifer, but Eden is so much better as a design. The bright red and deep blue together are really striking and memorable.
>>
>>8989841
To be honest, I didn't get what they were going for with Lucifer until I saw him transform. Then the whole "skeleton" thing connected. Not terribly striking, but an easy repaint...but with next to no possibilities for new accessories.
>>
>>8989529
Not that anon but I preorder and wearable arm and sic faiz. So tokullectible were 2 for 2 in my book.
>>
May have snagged a MCH last night. Here's to hopping I beat the clock.

Hope ya made it, MCH is imo the best zero one release so far
>>
>>8990283
It looks so fucking good. Is Golden Week still going on? Cause if not I should know tonight if I was successful or not.
>>
>>8990334
yep, golden week is over so fingers crossed that you snagged that MCH
>>
>>8989529
Don't be mad that the "famous people" actually preorder their stuff on day 1 and you wait till later and expect to get it before them. They pay for fast shipping and order day one, maybe you should try that and you can be famous too!

Good luck with your 50 followers Eugene!
>>
>>8990334
Golden Week barely ended, it's almost 5 AM in Japan right now. We should see stuff being shipped out tonight or tomorrow morning our time.
>>
>>8990218
Cheers
>>
anyone on the fence about fullcarttoys, i bought the repro gaia memories from them last month, took about 3 weeks to get here but they are as advertised.

Depends on the bike. New Ichigo and Nigo came out with a New Cyclone reissue that was just the old chassis with a new hood, so theoretically even with the older bike they'll ride well. Pose-intensive bikes like the Old Cyclone and especially the Road Sector are completely fucked. Worse for Road Sector considering even the renewal Black from the 2010s (which the bike was made for) can't ride it properly with the Attack Shield deployed.
>>8987323
We already have 2 Battle Hoppers. One that Bandai no longer admits to having made and one that actually looks correct and not like a metallic piece of shit. Both are literally flat recasts of Sochaku Henshin toys under the Figuarts branding so we're pretty due for a renewal. Same with Acrobatter.
>>
Hey for anyone who has purchased from SHFUpgrade, how long did they take to ship you order? Also did it have tracking?
>>
>>8991943
It took close to two weeks and no tracking.
>>
>>8991943
Bout a week or so and I got tracking
Got my CSM Belt stuff in from FullCart too
>>
Does zenkai gears have chips in them or is it just the shape of the outside that triggers the sounds on the toys?
>>
>>8991996It's the shape
As you turn the crank it essentially spins along a pin code pattern to detect which one is in.
>>
>>8990283
>>8990405
Just go the order confirmation and paid for it. My MCH hunt is over.
>>
The paint on the Tiga prototype is already starting to crack, pack it in, boys.

I can't even fathom the backlash Bandai is going to get for fucking up one of the most iconic Kamen Riders and one of the most iconic Ultramen within months of each other.
>>
Ninin just shipped my shining assault hopper and Accel. Hopefully everything else will start up
>>
>>8992796
I am begging for a third party fix
>>
I wonder if Bandai will even offer replacement parts for all the cracked rubber on Black and Tiga
