That's not an ARC Trooper. That's the fucking gimped Disney version that aren't bred to be ARCs, they can just be promoted to it.

No, THIS is an ARC Trooper. Learn the difference, Disneycuck.

Can I get a quick rundown on the different star wars toy sites? Which are the best ones out of sites like JediBusiness, Yakface, Rebel Scum, etc?
>>
I miss when I could be excited about what was coming from Star Wars.
>>
>>8960477
There's too many to really get into, so it kind of depends on what you need. If it's news, Yakface is usually the fastest. The dude's a bit smug, though. Jedi Insider is also decent for quick news.

If you're looking for an archive of figures, JediBusiness is the best for quick looks at the figures since their galleries are fairly easy to browse, though they only have a handful of images for each figure.

Rebelscum also used to be the top dog (they were the first big SW collecting fan site), but they stopped being the go-to site over a decade ago. They rarely have any good scoops, but unlike JTA their staff never developed an ego over their popularity so there's no opinion. Now their biggest feature is their image galleries, which go all the way back to the beginning so they have one of the more comprehensive galleries, though they're a bit slow to update newer stuff.

Galactic Hunter basically stopped having news ages ago, but it's still worthwhile to check in now and then since the guy who runs it is extremely knowledgeable about Star Wars collecting and its history, so it can be worth it to check his Q&A's now and then.

Steer clear of JediTempleArchives, which use to be one of the best for news but its webmaster developed a huge ego because of it and even though his site hasn't been number 1 in years he still behaves as if the entire collecting community hangs on his every word.

Ahsoka was great. And then Disney twisted the character and started overusing her.

She wasn't created by Disney nor did she fight Dooku or beat Grievous.

>textbook mary sue
isnt a mary sue someone devoid of flaws and weaknesses who is great at everything?
Ahsoka was regularly fucking up in the early seasons and even in later seasons still relied on others to get her out of sticky situations.
Sure she had extreme plot armour (literal resurrection and later time travel to save her again from dying) but that isnt really a mary sue trait.
>>
>>8961730
Dave Filoni created Ahsoka and it was George Lucas who decided she should be more proactive and "bratty" and less passive.

They pose just fine, they're just lighter and slightly more fragile than figures but if you aren't a hamhands you'll be fine. They have very sharp detail and if you're good at painting and weathering, they'll look better than most figures. I use the model kit versions for Boba Fett, stormtroopers, and astromechs in my displays and I love the way they look as well as the builds themselves being fun.

I don't think having inductees hurts the ARC Trooper lore. Grevious killed 4 of them during their rescue mission of the jedi, and in the comics Alpha-17 lost most of his squad during the battle of Kamino.

They'd need replacements from the normal clone pool, since Jango isn't around to help train new ones.
>>
>>8962218
The major issue is that TCW's take on clone troopers isn't really compatible with the original EU version of ARCs. The EU originally went pretty hard on the idea that clones aren't independent thinkers and are basically fleshy droids (which is weird since AOTC has Lama Su specifically highlighting independent thought and creativity as the reason clones are better than droids) and so ARCs were originally meant to have that independence bred into them. TCW has the clones as independent-minded from the beginning and shows them fully capable of thinking outside the box at all ranks, so it didn't make any sense to have special group of clones bred to think that way.

I think it does work better the way it is now, where ARC Troopers are basically the Navy SEALS of the GAR. You don't need to be designed for the program but you need to really go above and beyond to be considered for it.
>>

>>
>>8962229
From the way I understand it the canon arcs are clones that have achieved that same increased level of independence as the old arcs except it was on their own rather through special training and modifications. The Umbara episodes really highlight it by showing Fives and Jesse being the ones to take it upon themselves and disobey orders to try saving lives while most of the other clones initially weren't willing to do anything and were worried about the repercussions.

Someone clearly designed the whole thing using a single comic cover (from a particular angle)+some of his previous toys (which were also just mere repurposed Royal Guards) as a reference instead of the actual comics, other covers, concept art, etc.
>>
>>8970828
I have the BS one too but that one obviously takes more work to look as good as it can. It was nice to be able to just open the package and not have to fix the helmet. Still going to have to repaint the jetpack though and get rid of the Crayola colors they went with just as they did on the BS. That's probably the one thing that Saga Legends has over this new one but at least it's an easy fix. Although I am bummed that I got one of the early runs that didn't have the display panels sculpted in the chest plate.

Anyone with any Black Series Darth Vader and any TVC Vader? I'm trying to make an Imperial Knight custom and I need a few pictures (from various angles) of both figures side by side, with preferably the lower arms of the former and the (matching) boot for the latter, all fully extended. Part of my current plan is using 6" Vader's upper arm with 3.75 Vader's boot as the "bracer" armor, and I need to know if the parts seem like they'll fit, the size discrepancy, if the black tones will require me to do some painting (so they match) and so on. I actually expect I'll have to do some modifications for it to fit, but hopefully, not something beyond my skills.

So this is what happened the Rebelscum: Dan Curto left. He was their main reporter and while he was a huge Hasbro apologist his friendliness with them made it easy for the site to get exclusives and even a few leaks here and there. At some point he seemed to either lose passion for the job or lost his Hasbro connections or something because he just didn't seem to be doing much anymore, and after like 2-3 years of going limp he left the site. The remaining staff tried to keep going without him but I think none of them wanted to really put the effort into it, especially because they were fighting a losing battle against other sites that had started to fill the void. Rebelscum coasted on its name recognition for a while but we've reached the point where it's basically a corpse and the people left either don't care enough or think it's too much effort to try to compete again.

Well she did want that Ben Solo dick. Facial expression, articulation, and accessories push me towards the SHF, but something about the Black Series from the waist down just feels better to me in terms of proportions. The legs and waist are more curvy, and articulating the hips actually bends the skirt and doesn't create a weird box on top of them like the SHF. Maybe you could splice them together at the waist, but I'm no customizer

They should put this on every poster for the sequel movies. Although I think your use of the word "tried" is a bit of a stretch. Any child banging toys together in the sand tries harder to produce a more coherent story with better character development than disney did. And the casting was somehow worse than the prequels.
>>
>>8979605
You don't know how glad I am that people finally started including TFA in the pile of "dumb shit Disney did." When it came out there were people who saw it for what it was, derivative crap made by people with no new ideas who just wanted to regurgitate the OT for the sake of increasing box office revenue, and that this was a very weak foundation for a new trilogy specifically because it presented few new ideas, and we'd get shouted down and told that this was truer Star Wars than the prequels were, that we're just mad that the EU got dropped (I wasn't even an EUfag but I still got called an EUfag), that the box office failure of the prequels meant it was necessary to pander (and you couldn't convince these people that the prequels weren't commercial failures no matter what stats you cited), etc. Even after TROS there were still people defending TFA and insisting that TLJ was the only one with any problems and that TROS having to fix TLJ's shit was the reason TROS was bad, but TFA was flawless.

Hardcore TFA defenders are a distant memory now. A lot of them no longer admit that they ever liked TFA at all.
>>
>>8979666
Trips of truth. I was the only one out of my whole group of friends that hated TFA when we left the theater. It wasn't until after a year or so that any of them finally began to see the problems that I did. I even gave it a second viewing after it was on streaming services just to make sure it wasn't my biased dislike of Abrams taking over but nah, it's still a shit film and probably the biggest wasted potential of a movie.
>>
>>8964016
404
>>
>>8979666
I think part of what did it for TFA is that ROS had Abrams basically doing the same tricks only with worse results. His entire approach to Star Wars is to just repeat the OT, and it felt even more cynical in ROS. JJ's decisions are based entirely on what he thinks the fans want to see, so when he puts out shit like ROS it becomes impossible to defend him: every retarded decision is coated with THIS IS WHAT YOU FANBOYS WANT RIGHT THIS IS WHAT PLEASES YOU and it went from being bad to just being insulting. Fuck, at least Johnson's dumb shit was sincere, he did what he thought was best for the story and while he was completely wrong at least there was a sense that he prioritized story over profit. JJ's only trick is to do what he thinks will sell, regardless of whether it's what's best for the story, regardless of whether it even makes sense. This is why ROS pissed me off so much more than TLJ did, and I fucking hated TLJ.
>>
>>8979666
TFA lost me the second Poe said "So who talks first?" The movie didn't get any better after... I remember being so disgusted by how bad the practical effects were *after* they'd spent all that time claiming how they were going back to practical effects because "that's the right way."

What's funny about that is despite JJ and Disney falling for the "prequels were all CGI" meme, the practical effects that did exist in the prequels were much better done than TFA's, and there actually a lot more of them than people realize. JJ actually had to do a lot more CGI than he expected because surprise surprise a lot of shit is actually hard and expensive to pull off practically. For all the marketing around how BB-8 is a 100% practical prop, a majority of the movie needed him to be either fully CG or CG assisted (by having a puppeteer that was digitally removed from the frame) because the BB-8 puppet couldn't actually do most of the shit the script called for.
>>

>giving RoS a chance after TLJ
lol. dumbfuck.
I wanted to walk out of TLJ in the first half hour, but since i was with friends, i couldn't.

I gave TLJ a chance after TFA because Johnson was doing his own thing, seperate from JJ, and supposedly had creative control. Went to the movie without ever watching a trailer and avoiding all discussions, because why spoil myself when it's something i HAD to see? Terrible. After that i made a point of watching every trailer, hence skipping out on Solo and RoS.
Didn't bother with RoS, despite protests of "you're not a star wars fans if you don't watch it" from acquaintances and friends just treated RoS like any action movie, where most of us didn't go and those that did did so out of boredom.

I barely give a shit about Star Wars now and don't give any money to sequel shit. Just OT and PT stuff if i see it in stores and like the design/character. Still haven't bought any Mandalorian stuff either, despite watching it on my sister's free through cellphone service account. It was OK and I pass over their toys on shelves. I will buy a Stormtrooper Remnant if i see one though.
>>
GameStop has Ventress on sale for $17
>>
>>8979961
>>8980267
The reality is that it was 100% obvious that they didn't have a plan going into the sequel trilogy. I thought TFA was completely unremarkable, and its been said a million times, but it was also just a retread, almost beat for beat of ANH. TLJ made it clear that was no plan, and Rian Johnson didn't give two shits about actually following the few story threads set up in TFA. I didn't even see ROS, but it was clear that they had fucking nothing to work with, and were pretty much just making shit up as they went along from what I understand.

Say what you want about the Prequels, good or bad, but at least there is an underpinned story there--the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker--so even if the execution was bad, you can understand that it was a story that could be told. There's really no real story told in the sequels, and its clear that they just saw dollar signs since they greenlit the trilogy before the ink on George Lucas' signature was even dry signing the franchise over to Disney.

I don't know man, I think they're just giving the sequel shit a break for the moment. Wasn't the prequel era neglected for a few years after it wrapped up? Then we got Clone Wars
>>
>>8982436
nah, not really. And though I dislike the prequels, they left more things open than the sequels did, which left space for side stories to be told. jj and kk kinda burnt the sandbox as a "fuck you" to the fans after people didn't silently gobble up the shit they put out (rey being only one gobbet of diarrhea in the huge pile of shit). they're spiteful beasts, those two, and their angry bulldike writers as well.
>>
>>8982436
>the moment.
You don't put something like that "on break" a year after the big finale. They know they can't make money on Sequel shit. Mando came along and not only stole its thunder, but took a giant steaming shit all over Rey, Poe, and Finn's faces. -Nobody- cares about them.
>>
>>8982443
>they left more things open than the sequels did
I can agree with this, the return of Palpatine and implication that he'd been mucking things up the whole time kills the message that conflict is eternal and people must always be willing to stand up and fight. They completely eradicated him at the source and destroyed the temple, so continued conflict afterwards will seem meaningless in comparison.
>>8982444
Mando seems to be connecting the OT to the ST, but sure
>>
>>8982461
Which is the big flaw with Mando. The more Sequel shit that taints it, the worse it gets.
>>
>>8982462
Well I don't see how they couldn't sow the seeds of the First Order's emergence if they're still fighting Imperials. The overabundant cameos hurt the show more imo
>>
>>8982461
> They completely eradicated him at the source and destroyed the temple, so continued conflict afterwards will seem meaningless in comparison
Palpatine was completely eradicated on the second death star, a perfect punctuation mark for the redemption of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker's ascension to jedi knight. This is the problem with bringing him back, especially when the stakes aren't as high or interesting, nor do they have anything to do with good characters completing their arcs. What would make you think his latest death would be permanent but you easily accepted his death in the OT didn't happen? You see, this is why I call it fanfic. It's a level of hackery rarely glimpsed in any movie. It's rare that writers display such a blatant misunderstanding of the basics of storytelling.
>Mando seems to be connecting the OT to the ST, but sure
Mando exists in the era where the most interesting things could happen. Lawlessness after the fall of a strong centralized superpower provides a great backdrop for character-driven stories. The ST is just the same setup as the OT, which doesn't make sense at all logistically, and because it is so damn similar to the OT it is doomed to be compared to the OT, which was an incredibly foolish decision on disney's part. This is what happens when you get the guy who made Lost (lol) to try to make an epic trilogy and he throws a hissy fit when the next guy doesn't follow his formulaic story beats in the second film, so he torpedoes the whole project in the third film. jj abrams should never be let near a film set or writer's room again.

i'm making no excuse for rian johnson either, by the way, his star wars movie sucked dick. knives out was good tho, which was a pleasant surprise for me.
>>
>>8982492
That's the thing. I like his work that isn't Star Wars. Still haven't seen Knives Out, but I really enjoyed Brick and Bruce Willis Time Travel Staycation.

JJ is the hokey fan of the two of them, and putting them together was a mistake. He inevitably fell into the same traps of old EU novels, which I honestly enjoy for how silly they are. Despite the rocky execution of TLJ, I did like what it was saying. So same thing I've been doing with Star Wars since 1999, I pull what I like from the sequels and try to ignore the rest, I just can't hate them desu.

I think this is the best way to really enjoy Star Wars. It works, too, I've been doing it since 1999 as well. For me, I like the OT, Mando, and some games and books. I guess the huge proliferation of star wars fiction has its benefits, everyone can find something to love and just discard the rest in their own headcanon. For my part, I thought Mando, both seasons, was almost made just to make me happy. It did, too, warts and all. Hyped as fuck to get pic related.
>>
>>8982516
This sounds very mucj like you love the brand more than the actual content. I've got a friend like that, who gripes about specifics all the time, but says he still loves the movies despite not being able to name any specifics about what he likes.
>>
>>8982527
I buy toys and discuss multi million dollar blockbusters on an anonymous forum, of course I'm a soi
>>
>>8982530
I do love the brand, it was one of the first things I remember being exposed to as a kid. The elements are comforting. Is that sad? Sure, cause it's a product. If I were to rattle off all the stuff I enjoy about the sequels that didn't involve nostalgia, it wouldn't matter to the people here cause they'd call me retarded. Cause they have before

>>

I hate the sequels too, but there's no need to be like that. Don't become the straw man sequel apologists built to demonize people who cared about star wars prior to 2016.

>It’s #TimeForTonnika. For decades, fans have been asking Hasbro to produce 3.75 action figures of the Tonnika Sisters from the world-famous Cantina sequence in the original Star Wars. In 2017, they placed fourth in Hasbro’s official Fan Choice poll for Star Wars The Vintage Collection. In the past, there have been legal hurdles preventing at least one of these figures from becoming a reality. But that has changed.

>Angela Staines, who portrayed one of the sisters, is ready to move forward with Lucasfilm to make her Tonnika Sister figure a reality. Hasbro is aware of this and so is Lucasfilm. The ball is in Lucasfilm’s court. Finally releasing the Tonnika Sisters would be an acknowledgement of the steadfast faith the fans have placed in Lucasfilm and Hasbro over decades of various Star Wars content and toy lines. It would also bring to a close the years of legend and mystery surrounding these two characters.
>>
>>8983033
Why did they avoid it for so long? Not paid enough?
>>
>>8983039
I think they forgot to get the actresses to sign their likeness rights away, so they were holding off.

Micro Machines made one as an action fleet, and the Tales for the Cantina book replaced the sisters with two conwomen who were impersonating them.

>>
>>8983109
Fuck off Scott.
>>
>>8983070
Who was holding off? Hasbro/Lucasfilm not wanting to pay them? Or were the actors asking for too much money? Who didn't want to solve the issue after more than 40 years?
>>
>>8983159
I think the actresses held off, one of them dying and Hasbro not wanting to fight with their family estate, and general Hasbro ineptitude.
>>
>>8983159
It'd be LucasFilm/Disney who needs to do all the negotiations.

As for likeness rights, somehow they were overlooked when the movie was being created and everyone else signed away their likenesses. So because they saw how everyone else got jack shit for appearing in popular toys, they were able to actually ask for money in order for their likenesses to appear on merch.
Since businesses hate paying money, they said "fuck you" to them and now it appaers one of the sisters is desperate and is trying to get fans to whine to Disney/LucasFilm to pay her for her ilkeness rights.
>>
>>8982489
>What would make you think his latest death would be permanent but you easily accepted his death in the OT didn't happen?
The worst part is that within the very same movie he's completely dismissive of the idea of dying. Kylo threatens to kill him and he's just like "pfft been there" so right out the gate the movie undermines its own climax. It doesn't just fail to give weight to his defeat, it outright tells us that his defeat is no big deal.
>>
>>8983033
I'm gonna laugh when we do get figures and they end up being Black Series
>>
>>8983482
We haven't even got a regular Greedo rerelease, Hasbro knows that the only market for them is with TVC completionists.

Hey bros I'm new. Are the 1995-96 star wars battle fleet micro machines toys collectable? I'm going through a bunch of my stuff from childhood and I have a bunch. X wing, Y wing, Darth Vader's ship, death Star, hoth, etc. I don't see great prices for this stuff on eBay and I only see a couple of listings for it so I figured I'd ask for a quick rundown
>>
>>8983594
Almost anything can be considered a collectable. You seem to be looking for a quick profit. Fuck off, jew.
>>
>>8983468
It's not even the only time this happens, the whole movie's premise basically shits on the Chosen One prophecy, which for better or worse was the main focus of the saga prior to the sequels. Palpatine's resurrection raises questions about what the point of the prophecy was and if Anakin's actions even meant anything, and wouldn't you know it Abrams has Anakin's spirit saying "bring balance to the Force like I did" when the movie itself draws into question whether Anakin actually did anything at all. I guarantee you Abrams thought he was throwing prequel fans a bone by acknowledging the prophecy and never once stopped to consider the implications.
>>
>>8983604
If a quick profit comes from me holding toys for 20-25 years that my mom bought me at Walmart, then yes.

>I guarantee you Abrams thought he was throwing prequel fans a bone by acknowledging the prophecy and never once stopped to consider the implications.
This is his entire storytelling philosophy when it comes to Star Wars. Just "the fans will surely eat this up!" with no thought given to whether or not it makes sense.
>>
>>8983625
The ST will always be fanfiction. Not following established rules and lore makes it so.
>>
>>8983625
I know that's supposed to frame it as really depressing, but I find it funny that despite Palpatine's obsession with ending the Skywalkers, he ended up having them all inspire his own flesh and blood to fuck him over and renounce him. Like the ultimate cuck
>>
>>8983489
it's not a matter of their not being a market for it, I bought TBS greedo like 5 years ago for 40 bucks because I'm a bounty hunter autist, and I'm for sure not the only one because the average price for that nigga is much higher now
hasbro just has their priorities completely fucked, it's not like they wouldn't make money on a normal greedo rerelease, they clearly just have mandates in place for what gets a release

I dunno, Sheev's mind transfer ritual apparently required Rey to kill him, which she ended up doing anyway. How do we know he didn't actually pull it off and he's just been pretending to be Rey? The movie gives us no explanation for why Rey killing him was necessary, or why her blasting him to death didn't fulfill the requirements, so for all we know he actually did take over her body and he's just been playing the role.

Pretty sure the intention was that he was destroying himself with his own hatred in the moment, like with Mace Windu. If you want to interpret it as a successful ritual, sure, neat idea. She did bury the Skywalker sabers in the sands after all...
>>
>>8983708
>destroying himself with his own hatred in that moment, like with Mace Windu
you mean where he let himself get shocked to appear sympathetic Anakin?
>>

he lets himself get shocked and deformed (or reveals his true form as a 1000 year old monster man) and then literally says "help I'm weak" like a bad actor so anakin will chop off windu's hand

There's some mystery TBS figure up for preorder at walmart

I got my order in just in case, it doesn't ship till September so if it ends up being something lame you can just cancel it.
>>
>>8983745
I ordered one too. I wonder if they'll just cancel them before the actual listing goes up though

I think a while ago Yakface speculated that "Louisiana" was be Olyphant's character from Mando, but that was like last year.
>>

I wouldn't put it past them. They cancel shit all the time. I tried getting the Mandalorian Loyalist twice during restocks only to have them cancel it a day or two later. I know they were doing that to people with some of the recent G.I. Joe Retro figures too
>>
There's lots worth discussing when it comes to the shitquel trilogy, but the one thing that has irked me most since the sequels finally concluded was the fact that the actors that played our new "trio of heroes" wouldnt just fuck off. For the most part, ridley hasnt been in much so she's not that bad, but boyega and isaac have shown up in more movies than I can bare to see them in. For all the shit ridley gets, she's atleast mildly attractive. Oscar Isaac and John Boyega are human hemorroids. Their acting is godawful and they have no business being in entertainment, but then again many of the cunts in hollywood now dont either. The fact that Abhrams is being welcomed with open arms to WB makes me seethe even more. The 2010's was a fucking blight on humanity. A blight so fucking horrid that even the worst blockbusters of the 90's and 2000's seem like citizen fucking kane by comparison. John fucking Carter and the lone ranger are unironically better star wars films than anything produced 8n the last 6 years.
>>
>>8983760
Isaac can be good, but he also gets a lot of roles that he just isn't suited for.

Guys decide this for me since you know the market. Found my 1995 battle fleet micro machines. Pretty much complete maybe 15 ships plus endor, hoth, and the death Star. Should I hold it, sell it as a collection, or sell individually?
