Anyone else been using the brown weapons for their Super7 turtles? At first I was only using the painted ones but I tried out the brown ones after snipping the sprue and I think they really complete the look for the Turtle's themselves.
Also wave 3 when? I want to play with Mikey and Rocksteady.

I snipped mine and display them with it. The more figures I get the more I like them with the toy colored weapons. It just has an interesting aesthetic to it.

>Also wave 3 when?
Super7's been pretty silent. They were supposed to show off wave 5 last month. I'm assuming they didn't because they're waiting to show off test shots of wave 3 first.

Yeah it's nice, though for grey weapons like the foot ones I use the painted ones for some reason.
I've also tried using the spures as weapon racks but they keep falling over though I imagine some blu tak would fix it.
>Super7's been pretty silent. They were supposed to show off wave 5 last month. I'm assuming they didn't because they're waiting to show off test shots of wave 3 first.
Their silence is one of the things I dislike about the company, more updates would he appreciated since there is such a dry spell between waves and we only have the test sample pictures to go off until they're in hand.
>>8913714
>>8913719
Neat blood effect but I've never been a fan of fully glow in the dark figures unless the character is a ghost.
>>
>>8913734
I did the same with the Foot Soldiers, since it didn't make as much of a difference.

I've been able to get the spurs to stand, but they don't stand well and it's easy to knock them over. They would look cool loaded up with weapons in a display.

It's certainly been a minute since we've heard anything. The last Brian Flynn said was that we'd see wave 5 go up for pre-order in March and that he'd try to get us a look at the new April O'Niel figure when test shots for wave 3 came in. And my only assumption is that we'd see the test shots before seeing wave 5, unless Brian skips that and just waits to show us wave 3 as packaged samples.

>unless the character is a ghost.
He's radioactive
>>
>>8913758
>He's radioactive
Yeah I know, it makes sense he glows, this is just a personal preference since when they're not glowing they're just all white most of the time and I don't find it that appealing
>>
>>8913714
Fuck off Crimson asshole. Stop shilling Super7 shit! Especially off topic shit you faggot!
>>
>>8913723
Does the shield and orange head glow? And what is the orange head?
>>
So is the "new" Neca Super Shredder just a redeco? Also why? Isn't it less accurate than the first one?
>>
So did you guys ever use slime with your toys? I never liked the stuff but it seemed like the intended play pattern for a lot of the line.
>>8913938
The "orange head" is the characters let slime and that sit on his shoulder.
I forget its name but the regular one comes with a clear white plastic one.
>>8913937
Eh Toxic Crusaders fit in with TMNT so I don't mind him posting them.
>>
>>8913945
I believe it's based on a specific repaint of the playmates super shredder toy from a give away.

god, that plastic. it looks like it should be glow in the dark.
>>
>>8913514
I guess he's a real.. homo sapien
>>
>>8913701
it's interesting that we got leo and raph first, so the differences in weapon colors would stand out and it'd be clear how super7 is doing things.. with donnie and mike the weapons will make sense to be brown, and will differ from the original toys in having painted wrappings
although maybe they will also paint/cast the wood parts a darker color, since that peanutbutter-shit-brown doesn't look like ideal wood for weapons to me.. most nunchaku i've seen are much darker wood, and most bo were.. actually lighter
>>
>>8913809
i agree that white glow in the dark plastic is boring and looks like crap when not glowing
but GREEN glow in the dark plastic is fine (like in the old Guylos zoids). and in this case it seems to be glow in the dark AND translucent? which is some kind of wizard magic. so he wouldn't be white the rest of the time.
>>
>>8914635

>>8913970
which is confusing because there was a purple ARMOR variant too.. this repaint seems to be sorta neither?
>>
>>8913986
it's true that nobody saw the comical airbrushed muscle lines back then, but the new figure still has them visible and prominent. I think you're right though that the darker purple makes him look a bit more like we saw him in that screen.
>>8914457
logical, but the other color choices are highly questionable.

>>
>>8914457
Man I really don’t want to go in on variants for this line but this looks really cool.
>>
>>8914755
it wouldn't be the first time super7's displays added or subtracted an accessory just to make a goodlooking showcase of the figure.
I remember that one where raph had painted sai, unpainted sai on the sprue, AND sai in his belt.
>>
>>8914856
you dont find the magenta exposed muscles and baby-shit-gold metal parts a bit tacky? The whole thing reminds me of one of those photoshop jobs people do when a new toy comes out like "look at what a repaint might look like"

I would have gone with copper metal parts, industrial gunmetal gray for the main body housing, and sickly crocodile-mouth-interior yellow-orange for the exposed muscle fiber. everything else is perfect.
>>
>>8914877
So repaint it
>>
>>8914562

now THAT color scheme I like
actually weirdly I like all of these.. I guess that's just different common plastic test colors? Pretty sure I've seen those colors before in prototype toys.. the pink is very Super Sculpey
>>
>>8915034
I'd buy pretty much any TMNT character in bright Glow in the Dark colors. It's neat when a gimmick makes it into Ultimates, and I enjoy that 90's toy aesthetic. Speaking of pink some hot pink would work on a Glow in the Dark figure, I'm sucker for neon toys.
>>
>>8914457
I bet they'll do a glow in the dark Mutagen Man too

>>
>>8915252
the packaging suggests that frankenmike does too.. i guess just the small white details
>>
>>8915272
Will Muckman had the slime feature? He could since it's just a simple hole in the head, and hold in the back to let it drip through his tummy; unlike the other MM, who had to be water tight.
>>
>>8915376
No just the hole in his gut
>>
>>8915392
Lame. But at least they got all the random bits on him painted. I loved how he was crawling with silverfish, frogs, and spiders; and you had various trash paraphernalia sprinkled over him.
>>
>>8915376
I think he does, because he has the hole in his torso. So I'm assuming they managed to preserve the action feature in his case. I think Brian also said the top of his head comes off.

Tired of being pulled by the balls trying to buy these TMNT figures. Playmate and Paramount over in the corner shitting out crap for the franchise losing all the work the 2012 series did to bring TMNT back into the mainstream. same thing happened on /co/ and it's just impossible now. There's a tipping point where there aren't enough regular people to drown out the shitters, who now have enough either real numbers or fake replying to themselves to generate an endless chainreaction of disruption. It's like kids, remember in school how fun it was to take control of the situation and just make noise and nobody could stop you if it was everyone at once?. difference is school is bullshit, this is just people trying to have a good time with each other. but I have to imagine for a garbage person, lonely, no loving parents... it's gotta be intoxicating having that power. Knowing you and a few others have worked together to ruin everything for everyone, that's been around as long as the internet. It just used to be done via hacking, DDoS shit, malware, etc..
I think the reallll change in internet society was when a few jerks realized they could take any group down by fake joining it. and then that spread into politics and now we're irrevocably fucked.
>>8915854
oh, well there you go, I guess I'm wrong. it's also possible there was a disconnect between the sculptor and the toy bio writer

>>
>>8915858
How does poor toy supply chain dynamics hurt the franchise? Especially when there isn't even currently a tv show, and NECA is aimed almost exclusively at adult collectors?
>>8915871
Hang on, I don't see the turtle comm mentioned there. Did she not originally come with one? If she did, maaaybe that's what they meant? since the toys were designed before the final show stuff was decided on

>>
>>8915949
lol, I don't have to "refute" anything. I'm just saying your reasoning doesn't make any sense. The turtle comms were just something they didn't give a fuck about making until later.

If the toys didn't include things that were "purely an invention of the cartoon", then April wouldn't have been a reporter, there wouldn't have been any vehicles, or any Krang, Bebop or Rocksteady either.

>>8915979
>as far as I can tell that's not quite true. They didn't have the full series bible available to base the figures off of, that's for sure.
lol, so? Are you saying that the toyline just happened to independently come up with ideas for a bunch of figures, vehicles and playsets that were just like in the cartoon, and that none of it was intentional?

It's a shiny Shredder without the cel shaded paint style.
>>
>>8916217
I much prefer super 7s muck man but apples and oranges I suppose
>>
>>8916232
Same, but it world builds the Neca line, which I appreciate. I'm only occasionally picking up Neca figures currently and only if they can be worked into my collection. I'd be very interested for example if they do that Zach the 5th Turtle figure that seems to be teased on their recent box art for the turtle 4-pack.
>>
>>8916257
NECA should be playing to the strengths of the 1987 show by having their unique characters that were important, iconic and especially those important characters that never got figures.

Instead they're doing iconic toys in their 1987 look which is a horrible idea since the show didn't have the best designs and people remember the iconic playmates designs instead.
>>
>>8916267
I'd generally agree. Recurring characters from the show would seem like a priority:
>The Channel 6 news team
>The Neutrinos
>The Punk Frogs
>Zach
>Rock Soldiers
>Lotus Blossom
>Rex-1
>Tempestra
>Carter
>Lord Dregg
>Doomquest
>Hitech
>The TechnoGangsters
>The Batmen
>Mung

When Neca first started I don't believe Super7 had yet announced that they were going to do Turtles as well. Neca was doing convention exclusives and trying to get onto bringing them to retail, so my assumption is that they thought they were going to be the only game in town and thus were going to need to do all those popular characters like Mutagen Man, and Muckman, and Chrome Dome, and so on.
>>
>>8915849
Eh it was bad before 2020 too but the eternal summer made it so a lot of people had nothing better to do.
>>
>>8916257
>I'm only occasionally picking up Neca figures currently and only if they can be worked into my collection.
Same here. I got nothing against NECA, I just prefer the toy designs over the cartoon and movies.
I have Armaggon on PO since I think he should be able to fit in fine and I don't see Super7 making him anytime soon.
I've also been considering getting one of their Super Shredders too.
>>
>>8916467
I missed all the loot crate stuff. Somewhat bummed I missed out on the Danny figure. I kinda wanted Armaggon, but I really don't care for the pixel design that they paint on the video game figures. Some of the figures have excessive amounts of those pixels apps painted on and it makes it harder to work them in with the Super7's, and also kinda hard to mix them up with other Neca figures sometimes.

> I think he should be able to fit in fine and I don't see Super7 making him anytime soon.
I imagine he's lower priority, but they did get the license for the Archie comics, and he's in Mighty Mutanimals #7. I guess it's all a matter of how long the line lasts and figures getting released quicker. There's probably a few dozen higher priority characters I'd wager before we'd get to him.
>>
>>8916499
>. I kinda wanted Armaggon, but I really don't care for the pixel design that they paint on the video game figures.
Yeah I'm not a big fan of it either but I want to see how it is in hand first though, it might not be as noticable.
I liked their old way of doing video game decos personally, like what they did with Jason and Freddy.
>I imagine he's lower priority, but they did get the license for the Archie comics, and he's in Mighty Mutanimals #7.
Ah yeah I remember that but I think the priority is going to be first 3 years of toys > everything else

Those first 3 years contain most of the really iconic characters from the toy line. There's around about 15 characters left from that period, if we're supposing they're going in a particular order, but if they did, they'd only be able to fit 12 of them into the next 4 waves on account of the turtle variants, and would require 1 more wave to finish out those 15. But, that's not like forever; they're about to announce wave 5, and they would only have another year's worth of figures to burn thru. But I'd imagine they're not going to go in any real order and want to pack the line with other characters not from the toy line.

It also should be noted that this is only the first year of Super7's line, and Neca's been making Turtles longer so of course they're going to be doing more deep cut figures at this point.

The first 4 years were great. They lose steam at 5 and 6, but mainly because movie turtle stuff filled some of the slots, but also some of the mutants in year 6 weren't as interesting: a camel, a giraffe, a dalmatian. Those mutants would have been fine if they spread them out with some cooler characters in there, and then after that they basically killed the line with excessive random gimmick turtles. I always wondered why Lord Dregg and some of the villains from the final seasons of the cartoon hadn't made it into the toy line? They would have kept things fresh, and I would have bought more as a kid at that time, but I didn't really have a need or demand for a lot of those Anime turtles and Jim Lee Turtles, and Turtles piloting EXO SQUAD Mainframes.
>>
>>8916541
Between me and my brother, we had everything in this wave except wingnut, triceraton, and pizza face. This was a good wave for sure. I think the following year of toys was when you started getting a lot of turtle variants, which some of were kinda neat like storage shell and head poppin' but it kind of oversaturated a little. It got a little harder to find the new basic character figures.

Dang, I never even saw this wave as a kid, but would have been all over the Super Rocksteady and Mighty Bebop robots (I know that's not their toy name, but that episode of the cartoon had the robots and I watched it a lot).

I also would have been super into the Forgotten Sewers themed Bebop and Rocksteady, but by then I wasn't even collecting TMNT anymore.

yeah by the end they had totally lost faith in the franchise and wanted to just throw shit at the wall to see what would work. it's sad. it's the reason the third movie didn't get good animatronics, they knew that even if they got creature shop, even if they wrote a better script, tmnt was dying and it was never going to make enough money to be worth the investment.

that wasn't their toy name? the cartoon robots were clearly based on it. how strange. kinda reminds me of that period in the early 2000s when a lot of franchises lost their synergy and you started having pokemon characters introduced with one localized name in the games and another in the anime.. though even before it was common, it did still happen. Street Sharks comes to mind where I think they realized since they couldn't trademark 'blades' they wanted to swap something else in
>>
>>8918732

we didnt give many fucks back then but I definitely recall wanting a regular one and maybe one of the cooler variant ones, so I had like, samurai leo, rock n roll mikey, flip-out-armor raph, water-squirting beach Don... uh.. a cave turtle for sure..
you know I say 'had' but they're all still in a box in the garage.
>>
>>8917041
That's really not how you do a double elbow
it's funny, for all the not wanting to step on toes, it's strange how any large-size neca figure gets called 'ultimate' which .. that is not what the word ultimate means. if you don't offer a REGULAR pizza monster, this isn't the ultimate one. This is the regular one, y'know?
>>8917046
oh these guys were a big deal.

>>8917077
>So they must be a general release, and not like Tokka and Rahzar?
tokka and rahzar limited you to 2, so I don't think that follows.
hell, if a general release is coming up, they should let people pre-order as many as they want. that way the general release hits stores and now the scalpers are fucked and the company makes out like bandits.

well they were really big on using only a certain amount of plastic for a given character. It would have been hard to make a good pizza monster with the big long head and tail, even if they ignored scale as they often do, he'd have to be even shorter than a turtle to fit all that, they would've had to make it a larger-size one like sgt squito and killer bee?
plus roadkill rodneys don't stand up on their own. the bat guy did get a toy though, assuming you mean wingnut
what is with the late 80s early 90s in naming enemy things with a regular guy's name in it? Like all those mario enemies.. Bullet Bill? really? I know you can't leave it as 'killer' but..

>>8921270
Poor salty troll, stay mad.
>>
>>8921280
So you admit that you can't come up with an objective reason as to why the NECA are better and the reason you like the NECAs more is due to a subjective, personal opinion? Understood. I guess we can finally out this argument to bed.
>>
>>8921286
You are grasping at straws so bad. No, the NECA figures are objectively better figures. They properly capture the look of the TMNT toon turtles, DO have better accessories and accurate sculpts. Lacking in some articulation doesn't change that.
>>
>>8921289
You literally don't list an objective reason. Everything you mention comes down to personal preference. Keep sobbing you mental defficiant.

The accessory count is comparable unless you go out and buy another 4 pack of NECA Turtles, which at two boxes per case, are going to be nigh impossible to get. So have fun with that.

The paint is also absolutely more consistent with the SHFs. How many mispainted eyes have we seen on NECA products where it looks like the figure has a lazy eye?

The sculpts are accurate on both sets of figures because the animation and art was so fucking inconsistent. You prefer the Turtles from the opening and first 3 eps and I prefer the versions they used for the merchandise. These are once again subjective opinions and are personal to each of us. One opinion isn't more correct than the other. That isn't how opinions work.

Therefore you only like the NECAs because you prefer them. And that's fine. You're entitled to your own opinion. But it's disingenuous to claim the SHFs are outdated compared to the NECA tht have inferior articulation, more inconsistent QC, and a distribution system that caters to scalpers. I was able to get my SHFs for $25 a pop with zero hassel. I never managed to find Kang despite checking several different Targets multiple times a week for a month.

Well yeah, because nobody wants them. That's why they're always on clearance. I paid full price for mine because I thought they'd be the end all of turtle toys. And it turns out they weren't. They're just a curiosity in my collection now. Best forgotten for better lines like neca and super7.
>>
>>8921325
No you posted whining about NECA. That's all you have to lean on.
>>
>>8921340
This sure sounds like you can't come up with an actual' objective, reason and that it just comes down to you preferring one set over the other.

>>
>>8921338
>I paid full price for mine because I thought they'd be the end all of turtle toys. And it turns out they weren't.
Wait, why not? It's not like they don't scale with NECAs tertiary characters. It's not like they suddenly became worse because a different product came out. I'm genuinely curious as to what your gripe is. I'm assuming it's not just personal opinion right?
>>
>>8921346
They did become worse because new product came out. I didn't even realize how bad SHF's Shredder was going to be till we started getting actual good figures of him.
>>
>>8921345
>it just comes down to you preferring one set over the other.

>>
>>8921357
How so exactly? I don't follow.

>>8921360

See, you're just whining about NECA again.
>>
>>8921357
NECA toon Shredder is so disappointing though. He can barely pose.

And you haven't listed an objective reason as wk why the NECA figures are better. It seems were at an impass.
>>
>>8921380
Tell me about it, nowadays I just check this thread for updates once a week before promptly leaving because they've made it so bad.
Shame too, TMNT is one of my favourite series and most of you are cool guys.
>>
>>8920857
That's a really cool set up, anon!
>>
How do I brick seek search that tmnt pinball shredder box?
>>
>>8921464
By going to Target and asking them. NECA stuff doesn't usually appear in brickseek.

god that is a tiny drillgun. i think that was an error, there's no way that was their intention.
>>
>>8921893
I know, it's my only complaint. That and it's hard to make him hold the trash can shield.

Grazi
>>
>>8921900
i wonder if third parties could help out there, 3d print up some guns..
>>
>>8921893
Its like they scaled the figure up but not his accessories. The shield and knife feel too small too.
>>
>>8922695
One of those things that flew under their radar I guess. They were so concerned with the figure and not the accessories. Kinda like Mutagen Man.
>>
>>8922695
>but not his accessories
Isn't that the point? That he's supposed to be huge. That drill gun would be normal for one of the turtles, but tiny for Bebop. You could also always give him one of the Foot Soldier guns like in the cartoon as well.

Is there a difference in color between the two toys or is it just the lighting? The one on the right feels like it's a darker shade but I want it to be like the one on the left for buying
>>
>>8922767
it's not as if the bad guys stole their weapons from the turtles or normal-sized people.. they're dimension X tech mixed with random earth shit they could find, right?
>>
>>8922988
that’s the biggest cope of the thread thus far s7 fren
>>
>>8923019
I'm 35, I don't know these words
>>
>>8922723
It's almost like they're scaled for a normal human, and being wielded by a giant rather than giving him special made weapons for his body. If that was intentional, it was a poor decision.
>>
>>8921155
he loves wasting time interviewing youtubers so why not?
>>
>>8923177
yeah iirc rocksteady's weapons looked familiar enough that they could be normal, but bebop's are clearly handmade.
>>
>>8923237
Yeah I have no idea who would produce a hand drill that's more like a pistol than a tool.
>>
>>8923250
I forget what the toy bio said but it was meant to shoot lasers, right? maybe like, spiral lasers..
>>
>>8921254
My fucking sides, look at the caked on paint...
>>
>>8923676
>caked on paint
You have exceptionally bad eyesight then. There's no paint except for some shading on the arms. Otherwise it's cast colors retard. But good job proving you just troll with whatever pops into your mind and not what's actually pictured.

Thin your paints, N*ca.
>>

So you're just going to keep being a retard? I mean it's all you're good at.
>>
>>8924173
Do you like clumpy, thick paint that is more prone to chipping off?
>>
>>8924231
Apparently that's not paint and the sculpt just looks like it has chunky thick paint globs all over it.

Movie Leo and Don are the best looking of the movie turtles hands down. Raph's face kinda forces him into an action pose, and something is just plain off with Mikey's eyes
>>
>>8925117
yeahh movie 1 mikey has a difficult to capture face.

Nvm mutagen tour Leo with star trek symbol eye patch.
>>
>>8924475
The Super 7 look really nice. I also like the designs of the first set of 2012 figures. But the original playmates will probably always be my favorite due to nostalgia.

People on this board can complain about Lighting Collection Red Ranger's helmet being inaccurate despite how minor it is and get unanimous agreement, even to the point that Hasbro is actually fixing the helmet now, but everytime anyone mentions the grossly disproportionate head that toon April has, there's a huge uproar despite it being a much bigger issue (and NECA probably won't fix it). I don't get it. Why is this April figure such a sacred cow on this board?
>>
>>8926058
Cupchads unite, based Randy came through for us
>>
>>8926058
>Why is this April figure such a sacred cow on this board?
it's just a lone neet shitting up every thread, not a board consensus lmao
>>
>>8924300
>the sculpt just looks like it has chunky thick paint globs all over it.

Um, who's the troll now?
>>
>>8923806
Let me tell you how know that's paint on the helmet and gauntlets: the one Large I found, and had to take back, came with a shredder with paint chipping on his helmet and a speck of missing paint on one of the guantlets. You are, in fact, one of the stupidest motherfuckers on this board, or a troll, dunno which.
>>
>>8926058
there's no uproar, everyone unanimously wants it fixed.
someone just points out every time that, no matter how many times you say it's a big head, it's not a big head. it's a small body.
>>
>>8924475
They're all shit?
>>
>>8926058
>Why is this April figure such a sacred cow on this board?
It's the low hanging fruit in a thread that attracts trolls.
