I've had some pretty good luck with bootlegs so I ordered a shadow guard, coryscant gaurd, FO praetorian and 2 phase 1 clones from Ali express. The photos from Ali showed they were the new body clones but I'm thinking I might be getting the old body ones. Has anyone gotten bootlegs of the new bodies for clones or Stormtrooper yet?
>>

I wasn't aware there were any on the new bodies but I'm curious now. If they show up as the new ones, post about it here. I want some for customs

Pretty much this. Having taken a hiatus from collecting before everything went to shit, I was surprised when I got back to the game to discover how crazy people were and are about the 6" line. Personally I'm surprised that it didn't flop like so many other "alternative scale" lines.

Anyway, I was curious but not that curious, until I saw some BS figures getting clearanced. Grabbed a few, unboxed one and while said figure is nice, I'm 100% sure the 3.75" version is nicer. Like, they're cool, alright, and have a lot of articulation, but at the end of the day they're still too big, too bulky and there isn't that much that they can interact with. Just look at how many vehicles exist as 6" and then compare with the 3.75" selection, and do note that 3.75" vehicle selection isn't anything like what it once was.

Pic related: the 3.75" version of one of the figures I got.

I'm late to the Mandalorian party and want a beskar Mando. Do I pay late tax on SHF or late tax on the Black Series? Or should I wait and see if Mafex comes back into stock once it's released?
>>

I don't think the SHF or Black Series are worth paying aftermarket prices for. You might have luck with the Mafex if you check Amiami or Amazon JP around the time it's being released.

Black series mando is available for backorder at GameStop if you don't mind waiting for it till August.

Has there ever been a MAfex that didn't get delayed?

I think their earlier releases around 2015-16 were mostly on time, but ever since then it's customary to add 5-6 months to a release date. Hopefully the delay from December to May was enough for Mando.

The Problem with the Black Series figures is that they have the sculpt, paint, accessories and articulation of a 3.75 figure but are 6 inches. The only thing I feel that gives the 3.75 inch figures a edge in being more "fun" is that you can get vehicles for them. the 6 inch line isn't really very feasible for that outside of the occasional speeder or speeder bike.

>>
>>8913366
Not that I've ever seen. You could always commission someone to make stuff for him. They could make him into like 3 pieces, the whole lower body, the upper body consisting of the metal chest thing and then a head. You'd have to find some arms if you wanted them to be articulated, or just have them be static but still plug into the torso.
>>
>>8913617
What about the guy in that spacesuit-looking thing with the skull face inside?
>>
>>8913617
>>8913648
I looked the character up. I literally googled “Star Wars background character in spacesuit”, found some images of him, then found his name.

Apparently his name is “Rum Sleg”. He had a toy made of him in 2009, andthe toy is actually pretty cool! He has some cool accessories, and his helmet his removable. Apparently his skull-like face is actually some kind of ornamental faceplate/mask he wears under his helmet. The faceplate isn’t removable, so his true face remains a mystery.

Without his helmet on, his mask makes him looks kind of like Jason from “Jason-X”.
>>
>>8913648
>>8913617
Aurra Sing likewise
>>
>>8913667
My favorite thing about Rum Sleg is that they originally filmed him walking with another dude, and then for some reason Lucas didn't like the other dude and had them digitally erase him, but if you look closely you can still tell Rum was supposed to be chatting with someone so now it looks like he's just talking to himself

I grew up with 3.75 inch figures (35 years old) but I couldn't disagree more. 3.75 inch is cool and has way more charters (currently), but it won't be that way for long. I actually feel bad for people who collect TVC and other stuff since it's heading in this direction. I grew up with POTF2 but the Black Series truly hits that sweet spot for me. Not knocking you if you feel that way though. I get, the scale does has its own charm. I am just all in on 6 inch Star Wars figures

Honestly I've never understood the appeal of Ithano. All I can think of is that it's because his mask looks kind of Grievous-like but beyond that he had a bland and kind of dorky design. I don't get why everyone thinks he looks badass.

TCW started airing in 2008. Previous year was the 30th anniversary, leaving 2006 the only year without any big movie, series, or landmark.

That's one thing Lucas was good at, was keeping the brand alive in between touchstone events. Disney's Lucacfilm can't even get product out when the actual shows and movies are on.

It might be nostalgia/getting older, but there was certainly a carefree nature to 3.75 figures. They were cheap, small, and plentiful. 6" has been nice for the past 6-7 years since I've switched, but it's kinda given me an autistic obsession with articulation. I didn't mind the T crotches too much back then, but nowadays, I don't even consider buying a figure if it doesn't have ankle rockers.

Is the reason why their mustaches are so “petite” (sort of like a teenager who first hit puberty) because of their genes, or because they groom them that way?

TVC Boba Fett is just fine right out of the box.
TBS Boba Fett helmet needs to be reshaped, and because he comes with an extra gun that can be pulled in half he costs $10 more. Despite this, he has less paint detailing than the previous Boba release, so you'll have to paint the wash on yourself. May as well buy the bandai model at that point.

There's no reason to re-release either of these figures which have seen multiple releases in the last few years other than sheer laziness and being cheapskates. Which is why they'll "win". The two that everyone would want and will actually win vote, Starkiller and the Republic trooper, have no chance. Weequay is whatever, I'm sure the 80's kids want him because they always obsess over the Tatooine aliens for some reason.
>>
>>8918371

>>

>>

>>
>>8918371
It took us until this year to get characters from season 1 so it'll probably be the same for season 2. Boba is a definite, it's just a matter of what version because they're probably going to change his look for Book of Boba, which will also give us a chance at him. The Darktrooper is a no brainer for them especially if they're paying attention to how many people are buying the 3D printed kits for $75 a piece. The only reason Koska Reeves is getting out so early is because she's mostly Bo-Katan reuse.

It just pisses me off, ever since they released black series shit 9 years ago it slowly but surely sidelined the proper 3.75 lines. A look at todays panel perfectly illustrates the problem with star wars products, a ton of new TBS figures and only a few rereleases for TVC, and theyre not even rereleases of hard to find or requested figures at that. Like hell would it kill them to rerelease something like the assault tank commander or the nikto guard?

>>
>>8918889
>>8918956
I get the argument that since the TBS 3.75 re-release of Ackbar that pegwarmed hard was Walmart exclusive, that there were markets that never got him. The problem with that is that back when he was first issued in a wide TVC release in like 2011, he was also a pegwarmer. There aren't a lot of people left who still need this Ackbar, so re-releasing it when there's a ton of other figures that could be re-released that didn't pegwarm or saw such poor distribution that nobody saw them. It's even more insulting that they're putting several of those figures that people have been begging for up to a vote, but an Ackbar re-release nobody is asking for takes a slot.
>>
>>8920163
I agree but fans will always find something to bitch about

>other Krrsantan fans
My niggas, now there's an EU character I could see making an appearance and satisfying lots of fans. You could set up alot of future stories with Krrstan too, since he's effectively the boba fett of wookies. It'd be neat to see Mando compete with him over a bounty, or alternatively, have to team up with him to take down Bossk and a hive of other trandoshans. It's not something I've seen get much lip service, but I like the idea of Jabba's death leaving a massive power vacuum in the galaxy's criminal underbelly. I could see everyone from Boba to Bossk and Dengar rushing to take advantage of that. Maybe the boba series will follow that premise.
>>
>>8916247
It's bretty gay how sidelined clone commandos will be once the bad batch are in full swing
>>
>>8920328
The gaming greats line is pretty much a dumping grounds for easy repaints to hasbro. They dont want to have to work harder than that. Otherwise, we likely would have received some clone commando figures amidst a slew of other vidya specific characters like starkiller.
>>
>>8920681
Yea I'm kinda hoping that's what BoB is about. I also think they could have sworn characters show up on a prequel comic about Mando. It still seems weird to me that Din seems to have no idea who Boba is. You'd think being a Mandalorian bounty hunter himself, he'd be aware of the most infamous one in the galaxy.
>>
>>8920702
Sworn= some. Fucking phone posting
>>
>>8920702
I figure that with Din and his particular sect of Mandos being so isolationist, there's probably a ton of shit he's never heard of. He had no idea what a Jedi was and those were still around in his lifetime. Plus Boba's been out of action and presumed dead for about 9 years at this point.
>>
>>8920702
>>8920716
Yeah I had the same take on Din and his clan. I effectively see Din's clan as mando-amish folk. It was a very smart move on filoni's part to do this as it brings a certain freshness to Din's character. Not knowing shit about the greater universe around him and turning him into a bounty hunting ubereats driver of sorts makes Din kind of relatable in a roundabout way.
>>

It's only been 5 years since ROTJ
>>
>>8918338

>>
>>8920702
On the subject of BoB, who do you think would be first to take on old Boba? I think Dengar is really overdue some screentime, as I cant even recall him showing up in clone wars much and I really like him in alot of EU shit. The idea that he's effectively a cross between mean machine and dirty harry makes him both very menacing and equal parts interesting. You could get alot of people interested in him if you outright referenced his story from tales of the bounty hunters.
>>
>>8920729
Oh right, I forgot it was 9 years since ANH not ROTJ
>>
>>8920725
True but still, you'd think someone around him would have made a joke or reference about Fett to him. Especially in his younger days where he was running around with his Twi'lek girlfriend and that crew.

>>8920734
Dengar for sure. Especially if they can somehow work in something about how he becomes this monstrosity.
>>
>>8920744
Before meeting grogu and cara, I dont seen din as being particularly sociable. He probably stuck close to his clan most of the time prior to taking up bounty hunting. As for Dengar, you cant be serious that's meant to be him. TROS is such a cluster fuck Im inclined to believe you.
>>
>>8920687
but Jango Fett was a named character that was re-released with a new coat of pain. It's just kind of baffling that we need to vote for Starkiller when the Gaming Greats TVC line has a figure of a Shadow Trooper from TFU even though it probably didn't appear in the second game (never played it passed Kamino). That slot could've been the AT-ST Commander or something.
>>
>>8920766
Update
>it's actually meant to be dengar
What the fuck man
>>
>>8920766
>>8920771
It's not. Pablo Hidalgo got cheeky and wrote a summary of the character that implies he's Dengar after years of abusing plastic surgery but it's clearly a joke about how the character's recycling pieces of Dengar's outfit.

People took it too seriously and threw a fit, so Pablo implied it again in a followup book to troll them.

I stopped reading a long time ago. The only reason I put up with his gay bitching was because JTA legit used to have actual breaking news and occasionally decent rumors. >>8921938
Nose flattened a little, and also developed a bump in the middle of the visor. It was the first release, so the face isn't a big loss, but I wish they'd just do separate heads.
>>
>>8921916
I wish the helmet was an entirely separate head. The hair doesn't have the proper volume because it has to fit in the helmet.
>>
>>8921946
Is there an actual reason why the different divisions at Hasbro can't share techniques? Marvel Legends solved the helmet problem ages ago by doing alternate heads, why on earth are Star Wars teams still doing removable helmets?
>>
>>8921950
More fun/immersive for kids? No extra head lying around if you want them helmeted? I don't know, I'm sure it's similar to the whole "no double jointed elbows on Black Series" thing.
>>
>>8921943
So you hamhanded it.
>>
>>8921949
Doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would, it fluctuates in the show a bit. I don't know if I feel like spending so much on two new custom heads for her

>>8921971
There he goes again! Too easy!

Oh wow, a shitty Disney character has a shitty figure? What a shocker.

Wouldn't be a problem if they used doll hair.
>>
>>8922082
That would be way worse
>>
>>8921321
They should still fulfill it but it will just take a month or so longer than everyone else in my experience. That's what happened to me with some other stuff I have ordered from there in the past at least.
>>
>>8921949
The eventual TVC release is almost certainly going to come with swappable heads like the buildup pack Din Djarin after the great feedback they got on that

I'm super tempted to start buying TVC again, the Mandos are exceptional from what I've seen.

Is Sasha Banks on Amazon yet? I don't see it.
>>
>>8922512
She was but she's sold out. Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08T68XTYP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They were all up yesterday. Probably sold out so they hide the listing. The only one showing up is Zero.

Also if anyone ordered the new Boba Fett from Dorkside, I just got a shipment notice for mine so seems they are finally sending them out.
>>
>>8922517
Damn, and she's the only one too

The only bad TVC Mando is the plain beskar one that they made completely the wrong color for some reason

Oh fuck, I want that republic trooper. Shame hasbro is limiting it to only 1 for some reason, considering the rest are rereleases.

Hasbro PLEASE give us a decent revan already.

We shouldn't have to vote, that should just be the next wave, dammit!

Remember when the fan vote actually meant something, and we could just ask for whatever the hell we wanted, instead of being forced to choose from a small group of predetermined figures?
