>>8795896this isnt about comics, this is about your raving autism
>>8795897I would have preferred a voyager-priced Shockwave without the extra pieces, but the figure is still pure sex and I made a ridiculous-looking gun robot contraption out of the extras, so hey.
>>8795904Anon, please. For me?
>>8795897Not him, but that Shockwave is pretty short without his armor bits, and I'd even argue that the armored mode for his robot mode looks kinda tacked on. At least the armored bits make his vehicle mode look pretty cool.
>>8795887From what I've heard, toys spending years in packing can be affected by the gasses they release (since they can't escape) and some issues related to the cardboard used. This whole thing is even worse if it's stuck inside a plastic clamshell which transformers still use in some figures.
>>8795829I just opened my ER Sunstreaker the other day and not only is he the floppiest figure I've ever held (like a ragdoll, he gets treated with Pledge tonight) but he was full of very fine fibers. Really weird. He's otherwise fine, if you ignore the mismatched yellows.
>>8795928Oof. Any idea what the results are? Brittleness?
>>8795897Every inch of this guy just reeks cheapness to me and after getting the ER seekers in hand, it's even more poignant to me. I've been waiting since siege released to see if he'd drop to $30 and he just never did. I don't care the slightest bit about the option parts either. Hoping someday we just get a proper one without all the gimmicks.
>>8795934 I remember reading up some issues in the RD general but it's been a while, I think it was discoloration, and weaker plastic, I think the paint had some issues as well.

>>8796153I had the exact same issue that you did.Take the piece that connects to his vehicle mode front, stick the two two-barreled flaps together, then put the feet enhancements, combined, onto the opposite side of it. The shoulder paldrons can go on on the sides.A lot of the pics of it are just from the front, so that's why I had the issues with it.

>>8796174He is. For the jet mode, insert the HM before tabbing the legs together, do not open the cockpit to do it. If this is too much trouble, shave off the tabs on the cockpit until it closes without issue.
I just found out that ss86 grimlock has an extra joint in his arm which allows the Dino legs to bend the right way

>>8795925He's sized exactly as tall as he should be.>>8795939This is a proper Shockwave. Just because he has stupid optional pieces which don't interfere with his robot mode doesn't mean this isn't "The" Generations Shockwave for the Generations collector. Leader price is a tough pill to swallow but Hasbro only has so many Voyager slots that they can fill and putting characters that should be Voyager in a Leader box along with some extra stuff that's 100% ignorable is a good trick to get those characters out there. It's way better than what they did with the CW Leaders where they forced regular characters like Soundwave into a Leader sized figure unnecessarily. The only way Shockwave could be better is a longer gun handle and we know that shit will never happen, so they have no reason to revisit him other than to please some anti-detail autists.

>>8796437This one's completely false. I've been doing this since getting him and there's no resistance, let alone paint transfer. >>8795664>>8795546Let's be real here. ALL of CW was awful. There was fun to be had with the gimmick but the molds were all way too simplistic and the plastic far too cheap and shitty for the price. Deluxe figures used to be $10, then $12 after the oil price hike for Generations. Then CW started charging $15-18 after gutting parts counts and engineering complexity and skimping on painted details and plastic quality. Then thanks to the crap plastic, QC went down the fucking shitter so not only did you have overpriced toys, but they were crap too with shit not holding together, being assembled wrong, or being absurdly loose. And sure, LG fixed the QC and paint problems but not the price point, since LG doubled it so they still just weren't worth it.Dumbest part is that you can't even blame the gimmick for the over simplification since it really doesn't take much to include a universal combiner peg and the ability for the hips to function as elbows. Things have gotten leaps and bounds better since with the WfC line but some of the old habits remain to keep them from being as great as they could be.
>>8796849I think I've seen you say this before, or maybe it was someone else, but I don't really know what you mean. like separating the torso is scary? on mine the only thing that makes me think I could break it is this shoulder joint. I think it's the stacked up moving parts all pinned together.
>>8796854>ALL of CW was awfulAhem
>>8796856Specifically pulling the "backpack" away from the chest to reveal the ape head. It's really hard to pull off. Dreamed of having a Prime with a trailer since I got Classics 2-pack Prime, which I'll defend to this day as a good toy for his time, 1,000% bias. Even put aside a medicine box that my mom promised would make into a trailer for me. Hoping to find Earthrise or Kingdom Prime on clearance, which I still swear is something that will happen, or at least would have happened without the ongoing hate plague. Should I be unlucky enough not to see such a thing, I'm wondering: would people buy a trailer if it was sold separately? Maybe include Roller and market it as a "it's totally fine as a separate playset, having Prime just increases its playability". I know there's some that don't really care if he has one, but man he'd be far cooler with one. Really adds to his heft/weight, and if I'm remembering uni physics correctly, it hurts way more if he rams into you while carrying it. I want a trailer aaaaaAAAAPic unrelated, it's a lucky bot. So I messed about a bit more with Liokaiser. The combined form is definitely his strong suit. The alt modes range from cool (Killbison and Drillhorn) to "eh" (Kaihawk and Hellbat) to "there was an attempt" (Leozack, and yes I know he's meant to be Deathsaurus but I like the idea of him being a bestial Leozack better).
>>8795459>>8797089>Yfw you realize doubledealer has a pretty close transformation to g1 motormaster, minus the feet

My Streaker here is super floppy (and his chest cavity was full of fine plastic fibers), I just hit him with Pledge. He still wants the sweet release of death, though, just like his MP counterpart.

>>8797637Tracks. IDW continuity. Yeah yeah okay
>>8797641What are you talking about? Snapdragon's cockpit not having enough clearance to open properly is a common complaint. What does that have to do with ham hands when it's an engineering problem? Getting the Headmaster into the dragon head is also a huge problem that's also been talked about here.
>>8797649I've opened the cockpit multiple times as well as adjusted the dragon head. I literally have no idea what you are crying about. It works fine. But I understand if your fingers are covered in cheetos dust how hard it must be.

>>8797089Where did you even find the casette pack at this point?
>>8797225Tigertrack is one of the best made ones. He rolls great and his lines are clean. He'd go well with sideswipe and red alert.
>>8797738Not that anon, but it's still on amazon at a bit of a mark up: https://www.amazon.com/Transformers-Generations-Micromaster-WFC-GS10-Soundwave/dp/B085TDYP7N/ref=sr_1_6?crid=EERCGHOU7AMB&dchild=1&keywords=transformers+generations+selects&qid=1614025952&sprefix=transformers+gene%2Caps%2C220&sr=8-6

>>8796711Where the fuck are Shockwaves getting marked down? I haven’t checked the discount stores or anything, but back around Christmastime they had a single Shockwave at Target still for $50.
>>8797638Given that the best toy from the whole trilogy was Cybertron Downshift, I'm afraid I can't agree with your superlative.
>>8797782Amazon had them marked down for months, I've seen it go for cheap on Ebay for years. I bought one for 25, and got the selects for 22 on HTS Ebay.
>>8797756Not available in my country. Dammit
>>8797786Galaxy Force IS Cybertron, so you are agreeing.
>>8795897>>8795925>>8795939I like him a lot. True, I've never owned a Shockwave toy up until him, but I actually enjoy the armor bits - he's probably the only character I'd accept the 'hoverboard becomes armor' gimmick on, because he's a mad scientist and it doesn't seem out-of-character for him to invent something like that. At least he doesn't have another 'I forgot to give him an actual alt-mode' Spider Tank mode like I've seen in previous iterations of him.>>8796163>>8796153You've got that upside-down, though. The little extra guns that fold out for his combined Spaceship mode connect and go on the bottom, while the cannons that go on his feet clip onto the top. It forms a 'box', and the little pegs/fins you see at the front near the cannon-toes in your pic are actually 'landing gear' that go under it and help it balance with the fins on the arm pieces. Here's how it should look from the bottom and behind.
>>8797749A-anon I'm not buying four copies of the same toy. Three, maybe. But four?I know I saw someone say they picked him up to be Sunstreaker, but he's (Tigertrack) afaik a toy-only rando, why the interest? Just looked nice and cute?I'm glad he rolls great, it's nice when cars do that instead of vaguely skidding, but what do you mean by clean lines? No bio for the poor guy
>>8797812It's actually fairly sturdy when assembled right.
>>8797535Shit I got this guy when I was like 10 , I remember cause I was sick
>>8797800Well, shit, I stand corrected. Way I remembered it, Galaxy Force was a Japanese subline of the trilogy. Thank you for correcting me, anon.
>>8797791Well, I’ll keep an eye out for a good deal, then. I’ve been having trouble finding him under $30, which isn’t bad, just more than I can spend at the moment. Still haven’t gotten that haircut yet, and I wanna buy a sweet headband. You know how it is.
>>8797813Here's his bio:https://tfwiki.net/wiki/TigertrackBut I understand not wanting three of the same thing.

>>8797892Why are you quitting?
>>8797813He has a jap bio: basically a sentry/security guy: https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Tigertrack

>>8797914Forgot to add, the exclusives get worse and worse every year, and I can't keep up with it anymore.
>>8797914I can certainly respect quitting when you're satisfied. I'm sometimes worried that my own collecting is less happiness and more addiction, though I'm not a completionist.

>>8798027Fuck I meant there aren't many nonstandard combining teams in G1, and by nonstandard I mean stuff that isnt just one guy for each limb and one for the torso., hoping once WFC trilogy is over we can start getting some later guys, an updated version of Rail Racer would be pretty cool because the original is pretty rough

On a website and community where anonymity is the default and norm, choosing to assume an explicit identity is going out of you way to gain attention. Any purpose you have to use an identity is going to be some form of asking for more attention than any regular anon. You're saying "I am, by some measure, more important than any anon here".>it’s just easier to have a name than have people ask me if I’m the same Anon that posted something else earlier in the thread or perhaps even the one before that oneThen you can use it just when that situation is relevant, such as talking about a topic you were previously involved in or posting your own pictures. >>8798739I'd been thinking about potential JOJO x TF crossover ideas ever since these BG characters in IDW2 that were based on Josuke and Rohan but I think the combined amount of fujos from both fandoms would actually kill me

>>8798780Also, Jesus Christ, POLL. What the fuck am I thinking typing that shit.
>>8798701>this toy isn't as cool as one 12 years ago10 dollars deluxe class for decades. In the past 7 years its gone to double that with perhaps 1/4 to 1/3 less toy. So yeah there are some salty toy collectors.
>>8798790It's a bit worse. We've got an increase of 8 dollars for deluxe figures in less than five years if the price hike happens next year. Voyagers is 15 in that same amount of time. Legends/Core has stayed 10, but we did lose a mini figure accessory early on, and now it's going up by 2
>>8798800Shit, I just feel a big slowdown in collecting. Most of my wants I got between CW and WFC. 86 line will probably have a few Ill pick up.
>>8796857I don't count legends class among them because wherever was designing those still gave a shit. Deluxe and up were trash for the entire Prime trilogy. Legends class was still good.
>>8798806I already had a hunch that Hasbro would soon cut the retail line to the bare minimum and try selling most of their figures through exclusives online. Last year I saw that nightmare starting to come true, and I think it's going to get even worse in the next few years. The new MSRP and exclusive have made it difficult for me to continue buying them regularly.
>>8798704this one, the hammerhead shark, and frog were all awesome
>>8795829got blurr today now i have all the studio series bots
>>8798374It's all the exclusives for me.I'm fully expecting them to make Tigatron or some other high-demand character a Target exclusive or some crap. I've had enough of it. Those store exclusives never show up in Australia, and the Amazon/Pulse exclusives never ship outside the US.I'm done.
>>8798698I want a new mold of this guy so bad.Proper articulation in the robot mode limbs, actual paint apps on the vehicles... CW was kind of shit in general, but they really dropped the ball on the Titan imho
>>8798702I guess even Guido can't knock em all out of the park
>>8798710I unironically want the Rescue Bots characters in Generations.Especially the dinosaur Bumblebee/Optimus molds.Might be a good way to redeco SS Grimlock for Selects...
>>8798887Tiagatron's confirmed for retail. wave 3 or 4
>>8798894maybe what you want is the United Warriors version. They gave the robots elbows and guns
>>8798894>Proper articulation in the robot mode limbs, actual paint apps on the vehiclesSo the Unite Warriors versions?
>>8798780Yeah. The TCG had Needlenose using the Tetrajet mold at one point, and a Junkion merc in the Hound mold. Kind of surprised they haven't done them yet.Could've worked for those Galactic Odyssey box sets. There's a Nebulos one for Needlenose, and a Junk one for Detritus.
>>8798830Honestly, them moving Generations online and only selling Cyberverse in stores would make sense, most stores already only stock Cyberverse.
>>8798903If they ever reissue that one, sure.
>>8798743Is there a specific mold that Rohan bot is based on, by the way? That could be a fun custom. The head would be a lot of work, though.
>>8798912He's kinda just Rung with a new head, josuke though looks completely original
>>8798919>he’s a Battle Master I wonder if I could make something similar in appearance using, uhhhhhh, Windblade maybe? Some kinda jet bot probably
>>8798925Consider this: Rung's altmode kinda looks like a pen
Armada Skywarp and his buddy ThunderclashThe cool black sheep of the armada sweeps with his fancy new molding and his brand new minicon. What a dusty boy. Maybe it's just because he's black. The lilac looks nice, not the deep purple Skywarp usually has.Thunderclash is a neat little guy
>>8798930maybe he could have been retooled/recolored into Vos
>>8796904I jus got that optimus primal vs megatron comic pack earlier today after never owning it back in the 90's. I'm pretty happy to have those lil guys. I'm jealous that you have insecticon. Pretty sweet robot mode on him.
>>8796859Mine has the same issue. The left arm is also super fucking tight whenever you move it from the shoulder. Feels like it's gonna snap the fuck off any day now..
>>8798951Insecticon IS pretty sweet, good robot mode and the weapon is really cool. might be one of my favorite Beast Wars. I hope you can find one some day anon. Did you know he was apparently originally gonna be in the show?
>>8798945Would be a good use of the mold.If they ever do Tarn they could pair them as a 2-pack. I dunno if Vos is popular enough to sell on his own.
>>8798942The new head is great. The best part of this guy. The red eyes are just evil looking. Wish that spot of grey on the cockpit stalk was black.Never noticed how thin the plastic on the fists is. I can see wear marks. One of the ratchets in his hips is misaligned so it rests at angle instead of straight down and I'm not sure how to fix that.By virtue of being a plane Thunderclash is a bit more interesting than swindle but he's still pretty standard as far as minicons go.
>>8798930Holy shit that’s based, maybe I’ll just use Rung then, gonna be a bitch to customize the head at such a small scale though. Unless I learn CAD as I previously talked about and just 3D print my own head for him, but that could take months of learning, whereas with epoxy I can kinda just sculpt it.
>>8798956I did know that he was gonna be on the show. Makes ya wonder if he woulda been a goofy character that hung out with waspinator and terrorsaur. Or something similar to scorponok.
>>8798956I always liked insecticon after reading this bio: http://www2.unicron.com/1996-transformers/344-1996-beast-wars/1037-insecticon.html Fact that the figure looks perfectly decent wasn't a bad thing either
>>8798979well now I feel bad for using him as a generic bug monster guy, he seems like a very interesting take on the whole predacon reprogramming concept that gets kind of glossed over most of the time
