Is there a tmnt transformer type toy?
>>8795691Some new news from Randy via Twitter:No TMNT 3 figures this year50+ new figures across all lines in 2021Return to Mirage this yearNo to Michael Bay designsNew TMNT lootcrates will be announced this weekMore Wal-Mart exclusives next month
>>8795718Fwoosh actually has a loot reveal exclusive tomorrow.
>>8795715Yes, there are the Mutatin' figures that have them turn into normal turtles and a few where they turn into vehicles
>>8795755Very nice, thank you
>>8795755Their alt modes. These are the "mighty mutation" ones
>>8795763>>8795764And there is the Road Ready line
Playmates original line > Super 7 (only because it follows the designs of the original > everything else >a steaming pile of shit > neca
>>8795808Cool troll post. Kindly take your AIDS elsewhere.
Has NECA released a toon Michaelangelo with his hook? I remember th Bugman episode really wanted you to know he has a hook now, after they banned his chaku
>>8795838Yep, came with it in the first SDCC set and again in the 2 pack.
>>8795772>>8795764>>8795755I like these, the figures are a bit boxy but its expected
When can I expect an Ultimate Last Ronin figure, anons?
>>8795691I don't know why but I really like Mutagen Man.His design limits movement a lot but said design is just so good and he's nice to handle.
>>8795860Never ever? First we need more Mirage. Second is 2003. Then some IDW designs. And only then you can get figure of your crazy old turtle dude.
>>8795718thank christ. who thought those were good designs?>>8795755plus vehicles that turn into different vehicles, or like, a bus that turns into a stage.. i am actually quite fond of the muta-carrier, loved that thingi remember reading an 'interview' with the turtles in some magazine or comic, and Donatello was asked what his best invention was and he started naming some of the mutatin' toys and i'm thinking.. I've never really consciously thought about it, but the muta vehicles... don't actually exist in any canon, right? they're just imaginary.
>>8795150It's not too crazy, the punk frogs and disguised turtles alone are 8 figures.
>>8796071>NecaJust puked
>>8796104Oh, already off to the NECA trolling, eh? This is how it’s gonna be? We can’t have one thread where we live together in harmony, where every TMNT fan has their own pick of poison?
>>8796108It's not trolling. NECA makes shit figures.
>>8796113Why are you announcing a report? That's against the rules.
You cant even compare the two, Super 7 is updated toys, and Neca is figures based on media. Both fine at what they do. But are completely different. This coming from someone who enjoys both lines.
>>8796123Suggesting to report someone does not announce anything.
>>8796126>A little TOO Raph
>>8796203If Neca ever does Secret of the Ooze turtles I really hope Raph comes with a head with tape over the mouth
>>8796218my god yes.theyre probably waiting til they can figure out the engineering for splinter firing a bow, and seeing if they can get Paige Turco's likeness rights
>>8796218I kind of want to see SotO turtles, but it would be pretty silly to release the same figures, just slightly shittier looking.
The only tmnt figure I had was back as a lad, it was the 7th cavalry leonardo. Pretty sick figure, came with a six shooter and a cavalry saber.
>>8796308>shittiercome on anon. They were just a little sillier. but also a tiny bit less ugly. The first movie TMNT had this real character on their face that you'd expect from sewer-dwelling misfits. Second movie was more expressive without sacrificing realism, but they acted a lot sillier. More like the kind of character-on-their-face that you'd expect from people who saved the fucking city and now get to party down and live in a nice apartment.but the anon who said we might just get new heads for the existing bodies? I'm okay with that unless someone can show me where the suit design really changedthird movie? kill it with fire. Had its good points but they were OOGLY. and it's bizarre that current releases of the original movies use the movie III suit face photography
>>8796335You be quiet I will not rest until I get my samurai turtles with removable masks and helms
>>8796348see the thing is I love the armor, and the idea of it, and the way that kabuto and menpo are already this really oversized so all you have to do is imagine some of the interior padding is removed and they would 100% fit on turtles..but their faces, man. they had really visible eye slits and everything. beaky-ass noses... The rest of the turtle suits weren't that bad, just bland, too bright, spots looked too clean
oh and I loved the 'shogun' figures with the more ornate, vac-metalized armor too. One of many areas where I really want to see neca and super7 work together and let us have the stuff where the toyline used and referenced movie and cartoon stuff.
>>8796203>I think he's blushing
>>8795718>No to Michael Bay designsThey'll never do [spoiler]Rise[/spoilder]
I think using the Stern game as the base for this is just a legal loophole to distribute their cartoon Shredder at Wal-Mart, but I am interested. Can't tell much from the pic but it looks to me like he may have a metallic paint deco.
>>8796720Enhance
>>8796724>repaint
>>8796360Apparently, according to the previous interview, Super7 is planning to do new crossover figures with something TMNT has never done anything with before.Anyone have any idea what it may be?
>>8796779presumably something they already have the license to.
>>8796779Star Wars/TMNT crossover
>>8796983
>>8796753A good looking repaint.
>>8796720There's Shadow Super Shredder too.
>>8796779Sounds like a waste of time. And especially if they do it too soon in the line's life.
>>8796126I can't unsee the raph dick.
>>8797161both neca and DBD licensed the company that holds the design for the costume, not the scream movies themselves.
>>8795860Wouldn't Neca be the one that's more likely to make a figure of him since there's no 80s toy for Super7 to reference? Maybe Revoltech could do one too under the Amazing Yamaguchi line since they like to make their figures with a more dynamic looking sculpt and a bunch of accessories.
>>8797198This reminds me of that old set of fan art of each of the Turtles crying because the other 3 were killed.
>>8796126
>>8797223Sup troll
>>8797223Fun fact: I got Halloween 2 Michael yesterday and he was perfectly fine. I think he actually had no stiff joints.
>>8797240That means in six months they’ll be so loose he won’t be able to stand anymore
>>8797240Because it's a troll posting that shit. See >>8797241, also a troll.
>>8797263I don’t believe that poster is a troll, anon. I removed a Michael Myers from its packaging once and it exploded as soon as I untwisted the last tie and one of his legs hit my bedroom wall with such force that it struck me in the face and the damage was so severe that today I sit with only one eye. Please be careful with these, frens.
>>8797315I wonder if they had to pay anyone for the rights to the shirt print.
>>8797315This lil nigga better come with the april drawing of Leonardo
>>8797315>Crate 2 is arcade-themed and comes with a NECA exclusive Armaggon figure. Oh shit >buy all 4 to get ScragFuck, I don't care about the other 3 (well maybe mutant Shredder depending on how it looks)
>>8797349>Can't recover passwordSo is TMNT breaking the site or has it always been ass? I haven't used it for years.
>>8797315Christ I have to buy a LootCrate for Danny?
>>8797315How do I order? Where's the fucking order button on the site?!
>>8797315Yeeeeeeeees
>>8797349This shark guy is cool but i'll be damned if I give a fuck about anyone elseI even don't know who the shark is i'm considering getting all 4 just because they're rare
>>8797374Iirc Armageddon originates from the old archie comics
>>8797374He was my main in Tournament Fighters, so you better believe I’m grabbing him.
>>8797349$50 per figure ain't worth it. Don't care about all the thrash it comes with either.Hopefully since, NECA is making the mold, they'll eventually reuse it and release a slightly altered figure in regular retail exclusive packs.
Aaaand order placed. Didn't need that money anyway, pfff. Neca doing the lord's work. That mutant Shredder will be fucking cool as hell.
>>8797395Sour grapes
>>8797395I've already paid scalper prices for some of the figures so $50 isn't even the worst I've done for a movie figure, but have they ever re-released a loot crate figure retail before?
>>8797400Same here I paid over 200 dollars for the bunny boys since I missed the order window. 50 per figure is fair.
>>8797349So are these made to order or are they gonna sell out by the time I get home?
>>8797410First one ships in August so probably made to order
>Don't miss your chance to scalp these exclusives! Lmao wtf? How is this a selling point?
>>8797414It’s just saying if you want one order them so you don’t regret it later and are forced to buy them at scalper prices.
>>8797410They're limited. However, you have time. At worst the shirt size you want will sell out.
>>8797416I mean, they're 100% also saying "people are selling these for $300, don't YOU want to make $300 too?".
>>8797419Oh no not the shirt size! Anyway that's good, I just want to get Armageddon anyway
>>8797421No, that's what a crazy asshole like yourself thinks.
>>8797367No idea, can't find it either
>>8797367>>8797434Click on buy this crate and it will give you options on all four or individual figures.
>>8797445Not them but it's not appearing for me and not only that it won't let me log in.
>>8797478Think its only working in USA.
>>8797478The log in screen is fucked
>>8797431I mean that wasn't me but i also think that
>>8797382It's Armaggon, not Armageddon
>>8797484>>8797486Well shit
>>8797538I've sent in a support ticket but god knows how long that will take to be looked at. Last I heard LootCrate was on the verge of bankruptcy so I don't imagine they staff their support full time.
>>8797542NECA has singlehandedly saved Lootcrate
>>8797484I just downloaded Opera onto my phone and used the VPN that comes with it to appearto be in the US. Worked perfectly.
>>8797538It's just slow and twitchy, I noticed it wasn't registering some keystrokes. So if you're a fast typer, slow down and that'll help log in.
>>8797414LMAO I saw that, too! They know their market.
>>8797414>invest today!
>>8797545I just did that too, thanks for the tip.
Can't log into loot crate, gives me an error. Is this for everyone?
Welp despite the fact I ordered him immediately when he went up Target cancelled my fucking Krang order. I'm fucking pissed I won't lie. Those niggers had the audacity to hold my money for almost a month. Well what do I do now? I wasn't able to find him locally and now Target online fucked me. I really don't want to have to pay $60 for a goddamn NECA figure. Fuck this distribution systwn.
>>8797676>have to pay $60 for a goddamn NECA figureYou'll live without him, I'm sure.
>>8797349Oh, shit, they're doing Tournament Fighters now? I wonder if they'll also release TF versions of the four Turtles.Though, are these figures going to keep doing the pixel paint deco that all their other game TMNT figures have been doing? I mean, I'm still interested even if, but I prefer what they did with their NES Batman and AvP game figures.
>>8797374>i'll be damned if I give a fuck about anyone elseI give a damn about Aska. But the real question is... which version of Aska would we be getting if they decide to do the whole roster?
>>8797676Don't panic. They'll put it up on the neca store. They said more preorders would start next month.
>>8797681Oh I know, it's just incredibly annoying that they jerked around my $43 for a month. I just hate this shitty distribution system where despite going to different Targets multiple times a week, I can't fucking find the one goddamn thing I'm looking for. And yah, I'm mad about it.
>>8797698They'll do this version.
>>8797703Oh, I get it. Walmart did the same to with the MOTU Mr T. Ordered an "instock" item, they took my money and after making interest on it for two weeks told me it wasn't available, here's your money back
>>8797700Proof of this? Don't you get my hopes up for nothing.>>8797708I'd be less pissed if it were say a pre-order item that they never charged me for since it never shipped. Fine, shit happens, I get it. Shit sucks but it is what it is. But here they took an interest free loan from me for a fucking month, jerked me around and got my hopes up multiple times, only to say sorry, fuck you, here's your money back. God, is this what the poor GIJoefags have to deal with? Sick of this shit, just let me buy my goddamn toys....
>>8797713It's not what the Joefags have to deal with because Classified shit never shows up instock!
>>8797720lol I guess that's a good point. At least they don't have their hopes brought up only to be dashed away. They go into it knowing they're fucked.
>>8797698Probably the US version.>>8797705Kek
>>8797705Kill yourself
fuck i hope wingnut & screwloose doesnt look as shit as they do in the show
>>8797777Are there model sheets for them? They'll probably be closer to those than any specific frame of the cartoon itself if I had to guess.
>>8797705LMAO FUCK
>>8797698Ironically, now even the censored version is too lewd for today's prudes.
>>8797698MODS
>>8797777The fuck are you talking about? That's the point of the line.
Ebgames actually delivered!
>>8797869Heeey nice!
>>8797869>not getting the Splinter sandals
HAMATO YOSHI(most likely with Oroku Saki) INCOMING!
>>8797872Never thought I'd get any of these unless I paid the scalper price. Being patient paid off in the long run.>>8797877I take what I can get, I'll fashion him some slippers soon.
>>8797037>asthma spraymy siiiides.
>>8797315how much is a loot crate?I.. really don't need a Danny figure, but interesting choice! I imagine the actor was just like 'sure, i haven't been in shit for 30 years'
>>8798074$50 per crate and you normally get some little knickknacks along with the figure in question.
>>8797869mazel tov! celebrate with a stack o pancakes>>8797972boy it's kind of hard to justify paying for a cutscene character but... this is not what I expected they'd do with the movie line..
>>8798082>50 dollarydoosSorry Danny. This is not your family, and I am not your father.
>>8797349Literally who? I'm debating getting all four so I need to figure this out
>>8798088The press release says Donatello the Dark Turtle
>>8798091oh wow that actually looks really cool despite the torso sculpt completely ignoring the turtle plastron shape
>>8798088
>>8798125Cartoon Ray looked very different and did not give a single fuck during his entire debute episode.
>>8798125man that is a thigh gap you can drive a truck through>>8798144is that an octopus tentacle tail??
>>8798184Yup, he was some kind of aquatic life amalgamation, had shit like puffer fish spikes and electric eel powers too.
>>8798087Kek underrated postAlso movie april fucking when i swear neca/judith posted about it months ago
>>8798091... shit. I really wanted to skip all of these
>>8797349>not even the coolest Shredder cloneGive us Goro/Machamp Shredder you cowards
>>8798214Um my Shredder clone has fucking CRAB CLAWS how is that not the coolest? How does it not beat Ornstein and Smough clones or midget Shredder huh???
>>8798208He was in the ep with the Triceratons, too, so that completes an episode set.
>>8797315Well I guess they're stopping with their philosophy for the last set I think it was a pixel dan interview randy said that they are characters you won't feel bad about missing out on since they were variants of characters you probably already have But if armaggon is going to be exclusive buy they also plan on continuing the tourney line without armaggon because of that then that's def pretty far off from their last approach
>>8798088It's Donatello dressed as a Batman parody.
Hello ladies
>>8798280
>>8798202yeah I wasn't expecting anyone but her to be the next face-showing human figure announced.someone in here said she convinced Elias Koteas to change his mind, so that would indicate a new casey (head?) coming soon (please just the head, think of my wallet!)
>>8798208>Hey check it out, hero in half a shell!>>8798214I dunno I like all of them.
>>8797349Just ordered all four. I never ordered from lootcrate before. Do they email you the confirmation number? I see the order on my account, i just want to be sure i get my figurea
>>8798290hey you'd look sickly too if you lived in a sewer for 15 years
>>8798336Go into your account and then go to order history. The crates will start rolling out with crate 1 in August. Might get delayed because that's the norm for loot crate.
>drop a shitload of money on 3p TF Prime figures last night>huge unexpected limited preorder the next dayEvery fucking time.
>>8798399also already spent excessively last two months. but i still got Armaggon dammit.
>>8797676>I really don't want to have to pay $60 for a goddamn NECA figureI paid 100 for mine.
>>8798399what's this now? they're doing new transformers prime stuff?
>>8798478oh, 3P. right. third party. still interesting.
>>8797972WeirdI thought danny was stretching the property but this is really going for it what next the tcri guy? lol easy skip for meI feel the only characters that they really need to do for the movies are Tatsu and Vanilla Ice
>>8798677(& Keno)
>>8798677tatsu is my boy but so is david warner. i'd get him over keno.. even if keno was kinda cool. he was hip and he appreciated that april was hot.give me sam rockwell though, I want to make him offer danny cigarettes
>>8797315I got all I need out of the turtle line, and I'm glad for those that are bigger fans than me getting so much...buuuuuut, seeing all of these super unnecessary side characters just rubs salt in the wound that we never got any of the other characters from Robocop. No Dick Jones, no Clarence or any of the rest of the squad, no Lewis, no con-exclusive T.J.Lazer, no Bob Morton & Johnson two-pack, no battle damaged Mr Kinney with Delta City model, no Sergeant Reed, and that's all just the first one.
Does loot crate charge you immediately or when it ships?
>>8798777Immediately.
>>8798801Ugh I hate this trend of having to pay for shit 6 months or more in advance.
>>8798828I know. Mythic Legions can take a year and a half sometimes.
>>8795772I had that shredder as a kid. One of the best toys ever made.
>>8798677>Vanilla IceHow hard will it be to get his likeness? Has he been busy at all for the last 20 years?
>>8798828This is pretty rare as far as I know. most of the time preorders don't charge you until your shit's arriving. But yeah ordering shit way in advance is less satisfying, but for most of these scenarios wouldn't you say we're learning about products earlier, rather than receiving them later? that's a blessing for sure.>>8798958he was pretty cool, right? despite that ineffectively bent little drill-shield-holding arm..I got a lot of satisfaction out of the mutating shredder, something really cool about him, with the removable helmet and the rubbery armor and the robe turning into a cape..
>>8798677Bro Professor Perry is way more plot relevant than Vanilla IceI just want that lovably smug bastard Chief Sterns. I'd also love to have Charles Pennington but seeing as how Danny is locked behind a Loot Crate I'm not holding my breath.
>>8799031He's been doing general contracting in Florida, used to have a TV show based on it. I can't imagine getting him to sign off on it would be an issue.
>>8798828Works for Super7
welp, right out of the box
>>8799560Time to whip out the hair dryer
>>8799560At least the peg isn't broken you should be able to just plug it back in.
>>8799560Be more careful taking them out of the package, anon, I don’t even consider them toys or figures but priceless artifacts akin to a statue that should not be sullied by human oils from our skin chemically breaking down the plastic.
Super7 released pics of some new reaction figureshttps://twitter.com/super7store/status/1364259106001936385The most interesting one, is that they made an Alpha One figure, since he's a character from the cartoon, only here they're calling him a Damaged Foot Soldier. https://super7.com/collections/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles/products/tmnt-reaction-w3-damaged-foot-soldierI imagine we might see Alpha One, or at least his head sculpt turn up in Ultimates.
>>8799687
>>8799690
>>8799692
>>8799693
>>8799695They're also doing a Casey Jones for the line.
whos on your wishlist for wave 5 lads?
>>8799687Get banned again you stupid fuck, Scott.
>>8799687Neat
>>8799712Detective Themed:>Detetive DonnatelloSince he was the last turtle to come out this time he gets to be the first disguised turtle released>Rat King A human villain for Don to track down>SlashThe imposter turtle making Don and the boys look bad>Wingnut and ScrewlooseHe's a Batman parody and Batman is a detective too.
>>8799752An Ultimates Slash is everything I've ever wanted out of a TMNT toy
>>8799687Well hey, it's Scott Neitlich back to troll the board some more and shill his potential new job at Super7.
>>8799757Same anon, it's the figure I'm looking most forward too.
>>8799712My ideal Wave 5, based upon what I think we'll see in the upcoming waves. I'm expecting Rat King and Krang coming up, I would have said Slash in this wave, just because I want him, but I think they'll stretch things out since they like to give at least one major villain a wave according to Brian Flynn. I also chose Mikey just because of personal preference on the disguise turtles. >UsagiI hope we see both the toy version and his comic version in the Ultimates line. It'd be a good way to double dip.
>>8799687I missed when you were banned.
Here's some old Super7 Ultimates News that I meant to post in here, but forgot to ever get around to:>ULTIMATES MICHELANGELO DOES NOT COME WITH TURTLE COMMUNICATORSInstead he comes with a box of pizza and a grappling hook in the place of the communicators. This might annoy some people, because he's the only one of the turtles who does not come with a communicator. Raph has one, Leo has one, and Don has one. Realistically you're never going to display all four likely using their communicators at the same time, but this might trigger some people's autism that it's not included with him, and I thought it was worth mentioning.
>>8799803His load out of accessories.
>>8799719>>8799760>>8799801Right now you guys are being worse than the tripfag, they're at least posting about toys.
>>8799810Nah, he needs to fuck off and never return.
>>8799803>but forgot to ever get around to:You mean you were banned. Becauae you're Scott Neitlich.
>>8799808So is the grappling hook going to have a string?
>>8799832Scott doesn't know
>>8799832I believe Brian said it was(I'll have to double check his interviews), I think he said that it just wasn't shown in the image that it comes with a string.
>>8799818What drama did I miss? How is it known he's Scott and why was he banned?
>>8799844Scott aka Crimson Commander was posting a bunch of Retroblasting spam and then shilling his youtube channel trying to stir up a fight between the sides.
>>8799844I'm not Scott, I'm just not addressing the trolls and don't really want to derail the thread or go into the specifics since it led to several TMNT and Super7 threads being deleted. Suffice to say, there was a raid by a certain troll who made multiple troll threads labeling me as Scott(who I wasn't). And from what I saw in one of the deleted TMNT threads, this troll confessed to doing a raid.
>>8799858Crimson Commander is Scott Neitlich. It was proven back when he was shitposting about Retroblasting bs.
>>8799858>this troll confessed to doing a raid.Which was fake. Scott.
>>8799844Crimson Commander, outside of posting news, also posts normally on here and 4chan in general dislikes tripfags as it goes against the anonymous nature of the site.Anyway he recently spoiled the last episode of the Mandolorian which pissed off a bunch of people and people have a grudge against him.He also shitposts about a youtuber called retroblasting and got caught out since he left his trip on once. The reason people call him Scott is because a few times he has linked to Toygurus YouTube videos about toy production so they think they're the same person. In addition to this toyguru recently made videos tackling stuff like the thundertank and hasslab stuff, things retroblasting has strong opinions of so people think toyguru hates retroblasting.Personally I don't think CC is toyguru since they've got very different opinions on MOTU as well as other things.
>>8799810what do you think you'll get out of white knighting him?
>>8799882>since they've got very different opinions on MOTU as well as other things.Imavine being so gullible
>>8799858Whatever you say Scott.
Welp this thread was fun thread lasted
>>8799882I don't think he's Scott either, but he definitely shitposts and causes drama about retroblasting in random threads though. Notice how he tries to deny it, yet I haven't seen a single mention of the guy during CC's ban. Just wait, I'm sure we'll get a thread here in a little bit. He's just some sad little cuck who got into a fight with retroblasting and lioconvoy in the commenst section of YouTube and has been shitting up /toy/ with his autism for like a year now.
>>8799887Toyguru makes videos saying he thinks He-man isn't a jettisoned Conan concept. CC would argue against these videos and was adamant the Wonderbread Variant were unused conan toys. Its as simple as that.
>>8799916You do realize he lies, right? Like when he started that whole mess about retroblasting?
>>8799924Fine then, after arguing with CC all that time ago maybe its karma he's being pinned as Toyguru.
>>8799883Belly smooches
>>8799928I mean he is Toy Guru. There's no real doubt there.
>>8799937Nah, i'm pretty sure he's just some sperg that worked at TRU and got into a fight with retroblasting in the commetns section of YouTube.
>>8799687>>8799690>>8799692>>8799693>>8799695>>8799701I hate how these are meant to be vintage 80s figures when the actual vintage figures weren't Star Wars styled. And I hate that they're $18 even more. Why are they so expensive? Bare bones articulation, simple sculps, 1 or 2 accessories if you're lucky, and fairly simple paint aps for the most part.
>>8799953They're not meant to be vintage 80's figures, they're meant to be from a parallel Earth where Kenner made EVERYTHING and in the vintage Star Wars style.
>>8799953You're not entirely wrong anon, it kinda triggers me with seeing some of the sculpts being too retro Star Wars-ish, when they should be 5poa figures with insane sculpts. The Rocksteady looks really good in that line and the Toxic Crusaders also had really good looking Re-Actions. As for the price, I imagine it's because the Re-Actions are so niche and cater to certain kinds of collectors. I've been tempted a few times to get into the line, but I'm sticking with Ultimates.
>>8799953It's essentially a different breed of uniform shaped art toys. Not my thing either, but if it pays the bills.
>>8799970>when they should be 5poa figures with insane sculptsThey never were supposed to be that you absolute fucking imbecile.
>>8799976I'm aware they weren't "supposed" to be anon, but they did really well with their Transformers Re-Actions and their Toxic Crusaders and a few other Re-Actions, where the sculpts were detailed and weren't exactly made to look like Kenner Star Wars figures, but instead to have just the same scale and points of articulation.
All my Ninjas arrived today. Only 2/3rds are TMNT related.
>>8797705I like you>>8797775Turn it down a notch
>>8800064You're a faggot
>>8800065There ya go, that's better.
>>8800054You can never have enough ninjas
>>8800090Stop stealing people's images Scott.
>>8797349>>8797693Didn't someone here say Neca was going to stop releasing game figures or were they just speculating? I hope they go all in on Tournament Fighters as that'd be dream come true, but if fucking Armaggon is a Lootcrate exclusive, it makes me doubt it.
>>8800224Neca said they were taking a break from the video game turtles for a bit. They seemed like they were maybe going to replace the video game line at retail with Mirage figures.
>>8799332wow I was just thinking sterns and pennington would be the clear sign that they've scraped the bottom of the barrelhell i'd rather have the pizza guy that has trouble finding the sewer
>>8799690>>8799692why would you have this AND the Ultimates line??>>8799953you know what it reminds me of? the Venture Bros figures that had unique headsculpts but shared generic bodies, purely for the nostalgia factor of old toys doing that kinda bullshitand i'm still mad we didn't get the full set of mike tyson mysteries figures
Anybody got a side by side of Super 7 and Necas turtles using their articulation? Elbow bends and knee bends, that kind of thing.
>>8799332>Plot relevanceIs that why you buy toys? That's my thing with Danny yeah he's a part of the plot and shows what the foot does to the youth and listens to splinters exposition but he isn't what I'd choose to make an action figureVanilla ice might not be relevant to the plot but he is in a very iconic scene with lots of action and dancing and just all sorts of shit happening
>>8800224The game sku is going away TEMPORARILY so the Mirage sku can take its place. They're trying not to overwhelm customers with too many skus.
>>8800422you make a good point actually. an ACTION figure is usually better if they did some action. But to me, dancing and rapping in a cloughb are a lot more dull than meekly raising your hand in a crowded warehouse to get Shredder's attention and betray the turtles, or whip up crazy antimutagen concoctions in an abandoned subway.oh wow, the black supershredder is a reference..I didn't even pick up on that. I'm glad they didn't do the european purple armor version. That lighting is pretty tits, makes me wanna get some colored lights for my displays.
>>8800425>Mehhhm I hate sku!!!
give your toitles some guns bros
>>8800454I completely approve of this. especially the mini minigun.the old toys had such creative arrays of weapons, and it's sad that's not the case anymore even if I completely understand it. I can't help but wonder what the next iteration of TMNT will be like. if it follows the pattern of the comics franchises that inspired TMNT, we're going to see something that half-attempts a serious tone, but then loads everything up with toy commercial shenanigans and a complete lack of connected plot.. so the toys will probably look really badass but also be loaded with insane gimmicks and weapons. Not something I'd enjoy watching, but likely make for cool toys.
>>8800422Does this break the gentleman's agreement? I want to be free of neca turtles
>>8800463Fuck off. No it doesn't, Super7 was never going to touch the movie stuff and that still counts as movie.
>>8800463>>8800465oh yeah you're right, it mostly went in the OTHER direction, didn't it. It was Super7 saying they wouldn't step on the cartoon/movie stuff, it was never Neca saying they'd avoid toy stuff.which.. means we could get recolored versions of any of the neca toys in playmates toy colors. i... would actually like seeing that, because it would remind me of a lot of the old merchandise. the shit where clearly they mixed their model sheets and got toon designs in toy colors.. looks kinda cool that way.
>>8800463Super7 and Neca can do both apparently because it's just a gentleman's agreement. I think they're just trying to avoid putting out the same type of figures at the same time. Super7 just did an Alpha One figure in the Re-Action line. It's neat that Neca's doing a toy color variant, and Super7 has said they're doing characters who weren't in the vintage Playmates line.
>>8800490>DUDE WEED LMAOFucking degenerates.
>>8800490>Super7 and Neca can do both apparently because it's just a gentleman's agreementHow could you possibly know/confirm this
>>8800505there was a brian flynn interview with pixel dan or thefwoosh where he implied this i thinkpersonally i like how things are right now. just wish super7 drops a couple of figures every month instead of their current schedule.
>>8800490this is the greatest thing I've ever seen.. where do you get a tiny bong like that
>>8800490You are cringe Scott
>>8800516If we're lucky Wave 3 will be on the boat from China next month. The current schedule is that every 4 months we'll get a wave. It's kinda excruciating, just because I want to fill out the main characters: the turtles, plus April and Splinter, and also the main villains; Rocksteady and Krang. Once that happens I'm fine with snail's pace, but I need those major characters to tide me over.>>8800505Brian mentioned it in this interview:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAOyCy4n8M8
>>8800490I really wish I bought Inspector Gadget with preorder face in time.
>>8800572Figma ted the teddybear
Anyone else using their vintage toy style weapons for their Ultimates? I wasn't going to take mine off their racks originally, but I love the bright colors of the various weapons in the old Playmates line, so I started using them with some of the figures just to recapture some of that nostalgic feeling.
>>8800582hahaha what the fuck that exists>>8800597mmm that mask texture..
>>8800597I still haven't mustered up the courage to pull apart the racks, but god damn do I love posing him with the big squat and vintage head
>>8800607The little added details are what makes the sculpts so great. Rocksteady is deceptively simple looking at first glance, being reminiscent of the vintage toy, but up close you can see all sorts of textures and wrinkles in his skin, and on his shirt and on his teeth.
>>8800618and at this size.. maybe the prices aren't THAT bad.
>>8800628Yeah Bebop and Mutagen man are massive and feel like they're worth the $45 by sheer size alone.
>>8800613I had a my Splinter arrive in the mail with his weapon's rack rattling around inside the box, and when I opened it, one of the arrows was starting to come off the rack, so I committed to just removing them all off it just to see what it looked like-- it brought on major nostalgia for the original line and over all looked fun for Splinter to use the unpainted weapons, even though I liked the detail of the painted ones. Plus the weapon rack itself makes for a cool prop for displays.
>>8800303>I was just thinking sterns and pennington would be the clear sign that they've scraped the bottom of the barrelHere's the thing though; after April and Keno, who's left? You're pretty much left with releasing new versions of existing characters and bit characters. The cast for these movies was pretty small.Fuck it dude, I want Chief Sterns. He was in both movies!
God I fucking hate neca
>>8800653Guess you better leave the board then!
>>8800667I hate them because I can’t find them. I literally just want to buy their shit at retail and I can’t
>>8800635The differently-sized ones should cost different amounts.. I don't dig consistent price points and I don't understand anyone who does.. what, is that for retail? fuck retail.
>>8800651that's fair I suppose. I guess my point was that perry and tatsu were way more important, and even the ludicrous and unlikely idea of vanilla ice and his dancers coming in as a 4-pack feels more likely to me than 'grumpy old jerk men' figures
>>8800690I keep forgetting about Tatsu. Unfortunately Randy has said on Twitter a few times they can't get the likeness rights. Someone needs to send in Judith Hoag to work her magic one more time.
>>8800686I think it's primarily a sales psychology thing. It's easier to get someone to justify buying the whole set with an easy consistent price per unit.
>>8800703I would love to watch a little documentary show following Judith flying to some obscure dojo and asking (Via translator) if this guy will let a company make a toy out of himand he just looks at this foxy 55 year old woman who somehow looks even better than back then and gives her a sneer and says "(only if you can beat me in combat!)" and then watches for the look on her face as it's translated, before breaking out into laughter and inviting her out for sake while they talk old times and he gives NECA the ok
>>8800703They want the rights, it's just he's an old man and it's hard getting TO him because of covid and the like. They haven't given up.
>>8799712Pic related is my wishlist.>>8800235I hope NECA does start doing Tournament Fighters figures once the "arcade" SKU comes back, but I wholeheartedly welcome more Mirage figures. Still need Mirage versions of Splinter, Casey, and hopefully a Karai figure. And I'd kill for a Mirage April that's more in-line with how she looked in most of the comics as opposed to just her first appearance.>>8800469>we could get recolored versions of any of the neca toys in playmates toy colorsI remember a few threads back someone posted photos of their own NECA TMNT painted in those colors and they looked really good in those colors.>>8800578Hopefully the new April is finally revealed before that Chinese boat sets sail.
>>8800597You're the only other person I've seen who does that but for me that's the only way I want to display them. I use the unpainted weapons for all of my super7 turtle figures. Helps complete that vintage look.
>>8800773Oh right, they're dropping like flies over there.
>>8800776oh damn i'd love to see that. not sure whether paint slathered on paint is gonna be all that stable..
>>8800839we just kind of.. imprinted on them, didn't we? hehi loved how the box illustrations were based 100% on the toy inside, they worked really hard.
>>8800776Who owns the rights to the original cardback art? I'd love posters or an art book, or something with reproductions of them.
>>8800882surely playmates.
>>8799882>>8799883>>8799887>>8799892>>8799894>>8799913These posts are all Crimson Commander FYI
>>8800759FUCKING CRINGE
We'll never get an updated Tattoo. :(
>>8801010I'm sorry things have gotten to the point that a simple goodtime story like that is cringe, but I understand that it's the way things are.
>>8801024i wonder, how would they... would they print the tatts on, and give you a separate sticker sheet for lulz, or.. has sticker tech improved since then?
>>8801030A sheet of dry-apply decals and no flat surface on the entire body
>>8801000You’re Crimson Commander. You’re falseflagging to get people to talk about your faggot ass again
>>8801030this would be the ideal scenario
>>8800882that would be incredible
>>8801024This man was originally a hamster!
>>8801024It's a bit racist, so no.
>>8801034dry-apply, eh? I'm only really familiar with water slides, water transfers (temp tattoos), and the occasional sort of... moist... transfers.. where a thicker piece is transferred from a film, but those still required moisture I think. or sometimes heat.
>>8801069yeah nothing is more unacceptable these days than cultural eccentricities and idiosyncracies. Celebrate our differences? fuck that, we all need to conform and ignore reality.
>>8801073The last time I saw any was an old helicopter model I built in the 90s, the model side was sticky but not enough to pull the plastic from so you had to press the decal down hard enough for it to adhere more to the model then peel away. They always fucking flaked.
>>8801076Nobody actually thinks sumo is racist, calm down sperg.
>>8801078huh. now that sounds like exactly the ideal starting point to improving decal technology.. if they could solve the flaking prob
>>8801080The yellow skin is though.
>>8801080count yourself lucky you haven't been around these people, dude. I don't know how you missed them, they're everywhere and they run our lives.particularly since the tattoo aspect is a yakuza thing, this would get you in six kinds of hot water.
>>8801086Then you don't make him Flied Lice Yellow
>>8801086That's just the lighting, that's normal skin color. Asians are the same color as anyone else at their latitude. No idea where this 'yellow' idea came from. Or why halfricans get called 'high yellow' like do people not know the word brown? Tan?
>>8801088Take your meds holy shit
>>8801091Nah man, his original toy was yellow, not as saturated as that image, but still yellow.
>>8801091There’s a golden tone to their skin, as opposed to a pink tone, even on lighter skin. That’s where the phrase yellow in terms of skin comes from . It’s more noticeable if you paint
>>8801038HI, Crimson...
>>8801097I completely disagree?I mean there are olive-skinned white people too, but that's just called "having a little bit of melanin" whereas pink is "not having any"there's only two kinds of pigmentation: eumelanin and pheomelanin. people are not different colors, just different amounts of the same color (except gingers. they have the other one. hence those weird red freckles). asians have different hair color from white people but not different skin
Enjoy some Splinter photos
>>8801163Huh this is like, the moment of lightning flashing?also did super7 give him that belt buckle? that doesn't look like the original toy's belt..also is there no metatarsal bend? because that'd restrict posing pretty hard.>>8801164also I don't think I ever realized his tail was wrapped, I thought it was meant to be a naked rat tail.. but he's got fur on the rest of it. fucking fascinating>>8801165it looks like they didn't include the sculpted (but unpainted) pupils from the original toy?
>>8801187Yeah, that's the belt buckle they gave him. His feet bend at the ankles and are designed in a way that he's supposed to have his legs bent a little at his knees. He does have ankle rockers tho. Mine poses pretty nice. He also has a joint on upper tail that lets it hinge out and spin around, and the lower part of the tail also has a separate articulation point. As for the eyes they sculpted the pupils but you can hardly see them there. The sculpt kinda curves ever so slightly and forms them in his eye and you'll have trouble noticing it in the sculpt without looking at it very closely.
>>8801204In this photo if you look very closely you can see the sculpted pupil in Splinter's eye, which looks almost like it's just a shadow, but it's there.
>>8801204>>8801205ohh yeah I can see it now.I kinda love that body, it's pretty neat just as a mutant rat design on the whole. pretty athletic.. man if it wasn't for that head.thanks for the info, this is what makes /toy/ fun.
>>8801207I didn't think I'd like the figure as much as I do until I had it hand. The hot tea cup with the steam effect coming off of it really adds to it. They should have done an updated head with him like they did with the Turtles.
>>8801204He's in a lot better shape than he used to be...>>8801211So they gave him a proper walking stick instead of just that tiny short sword cane that is basically just a tonfa. Good on them.
>>8801217I never noticed before, but the nose is completely mispainted. It's supposed to be a narrow strip of nose, that's what a real rat has. sharp horizontal boundaries. they painted over it onto the muzzle, giving him a big doofy Sharky the Sharkdog nose, which the super7 version smoothed out into a simple round Brian Griffin nose.
>>8799693>>8799695God I hope we get these variants in Ultimates. I want every turtle variant
>>8801223Brian teased that they were an indication of where the line would go after the first 4 Turtles come out, so each wave could still have 1 Turtle; that if they were in Re-Actions it meant they would likely see a release in Ultimates. I think from the original Turtle disguises the only one that doesn't really excite me that much is the Space Cadet Raph. I don't hate it, but all the others are so much cooler, at least they are to me.
>>8801217He has a small nose in the concept art too. They fucked up the paint on him and Shredder the most.
>>8801234Mikey is my favorite because I played with him in the bathtub
>>8801283They repainted him as Leo later on and gave him an inner tube to play with in the bath.
>>8801239this is what happens when you poach sculptors from mattel but use in-house painters.. playmates has had pretty garbage paintwork on TMNT figures in every iteration.
>>8801211I'm sorry I don't see 50 dollars a piece in that photo. Yeah, I understand you get plenty of accessorries and some minute sculpted details, but these do no *look* the price that they cost, except for Bebop and Mutagen Man, both of which I own--I had to have those after I saw them in person. The rest of these figures, nah, i still say they look cheap out of the box.
>>8801435They are the best Turtles figs and the alternate heads s7 did are so good. Gotta pay for quality, senpai.
>>8801330Did 4Horsemen sculpt the TMNT Ultimates?
>>8801239Hey Scott, fuck off with your Retroblasting shitposting. You stupid faggot.
>>8801647The best turtles are from DreamEX.S7's not worth 45$. Maybe 30$ but no more than that. The only exception is big figures like B&R, Slash etc.
>>8801861I was unaware of these as I’m just back into the collecting game but you’re right, anon, these are sick. I also really like the revoltech kaiyodo tmnt.
>>8800839I have all mine cut for storage purposes but I plan to use them eventually when I want to do a vintage display for a week where everyone is in their old poses.
>>8801207>people keep saying how they dislike splinters head>tfw it's one of the main reasons I like him so much
>>8801435I believe the cost comes from the low production numbers or something like that.I don't know how Rocksteady and a turtle are the same price but I won't act like I know the ins and outs of toy production
>>8801861Are DreamEX available anywhere or is it just third party sellers from China
Another photo of the new Leo Re-Action figure
>>8801861Spoken like someone who's never owned an Ultimate
>>8802121There was pre-orders of Leo and Don re-releases on BBTS but they are alredy sold out. For the rest of team your only choice is ebay. Also they are really pricey and large being 1/6 and all that.
>>8802126That's right. I'm huge scale autist and S7's turtles is too big for the rest of my 1/12 shelfs. I bought Bebop and pre-ordered Rocksteady though. Probably grab Android Krang and Slash when S7 make them.
>>8802202Darn, okay. I’m already strapped from catching up on the Neca mirage, movie, and cartoon lines, the quarter scale ones in addition to the s7 line but if these ever get released again, I’m buying.
Got the Raph re-release from EE, hips are a little jiggly still. Major changes that I can see are the teeth are glossy compared to Leo's matte, not sure if the original raph has matte or not. Weapon rack is also a darker brown. Eye and mouth paint is also a little sloppy, but not too bad.
>>8802236
>>8802236>>8802240Some of the first release Raphs have overspray on their eye paint as well just likes yours. I had two of them, and sold one off that had the overspray and it was just like in your photo. I bought a second release Raph just to have one, but haven't taken him out of the mailer to inspect him. The overspray wasn't horrible, I could live with that. I did notice tighter joints on my second release Splinter also.
I feel like choosing to ship my Wave 1 rerelease via USPS instead of DHL was a mistake.
>>8802212Yeah most of the mutant will work in that scale, the only real issue is the humans like Shredder and probably April.
>>8802259Is the weapon rack different on rerelease Splinter too?
>>8802298I use NECA cartoon Shredder and custom April. Don't sure what to do about Casey. Cartoon one looks too retarded and movie one is too tall. In the end probably buy and slightly repaint cartoon version.
>>8802323Casey seems like a easy custom since he mostly wears casual clothes with varying degrees of sporting equipment in most iterations. Also pics of your custom April?
>>8802240We all value things differently, but 50 dollars for it, I feel like folks are out of their minds, and the overspray is just another nail in the coffin for me.
>>8802342>Also pics of your custom April? No pics but I use S.H.Figuarts Mine Fujiko repainted in yellow.
>>8802443Hubba hubba
>>8802443Ah I see, I think I've seen you post about it before or at least another anon who uses Fujiko as April.
>>8802428I only have Raph from Super7 and a Leo in transit, but I agree the prices are a bit steep for what they are. I never had the old toys growing up, but watched the movies a ton. Neca movie turtles are my childhood. Perhaps that's why I feel let down by Super 7 Raph.
other than reissuing vintage 80s and early 90s vintage figures with the proper cards, what else can playmates do to save their line?
>>8802428And it's not even like they're hyper detailed eyes with shine and pupils. It's just a white triangle; the easiest eyes you can do.
>>8802540A new cartoon or piece of media.Or maybe they should just copy Origins.
>>8802540In scale villians for their next line
>>8802540Do what Mattel is doing with He-Man and give us $15 updated versions of the classic figures, along with figures of things we didn't get, like Roadkill Rodney, Keno, Tatsu, movie Aprils that's not her in Movie 3 costume, maybe figures from the last season of the classic show, and 2003 and 2012 if the line lasts long enough.
personally i woudlve bought all of the recent playmates reissues if only they came in the cardbacks identical to the originalsliterally how hard is it to fleece us manchildren from our hard earned burger bucks?
>>8802553This, it's annoying that every line the none turtle chatacters get the raw end of the stick in size and quality.
>>8797155You fool!, what have you done!
>>8797223Only Necas I have had break on me are 2 Xenomorphs and a few Predators, their Movie Turtles stuff have been all great for me so far.
>>8802632>2 xenomorphs and a few predatorsyoure literally proving him right
>>8801743yes, waves 1-4. best in the game desu
>>8802648Supposedly the most fragile QC ridden Xeno made by Neca, but yet mine is fine, and I pose it alot. Tight joints and all right from the package to all these years later. Funnily enough the chestburster it came with melted away. They need to work on QC, that is a fact.
>>8802779What do you mean melted away, was it soft plastic or what?
>>8802307It's the same darker shade of brown as the second release of Raph shown in the pic >>8802240
>>8802784I had it shipped from bbts ( I know, I know) when it came and I opened it the poor little guy was just a blob with wire poking out. I dont know if it was always like that or that my mailman drives a microwave.
>>8802808How the actual fuck
>>8802540Three Options:1. Their own version of what Super7 is doing with Ulitmates but with less accessories, paint apps, and very few if any interchangable hands for about $20 a figure.2. Do their own version of MOTU Origins with the classic Playmates designs.3. This one's out of their hands, but Nick should revive the 2012 series with a new 2D cartoon like Rise had.
>>8802808Poor little guy, did you give it a proper burial?
>>8802835It's with the worms now.
>>8801435no, but it seems less overpriced than before I noticed that sculpting quality.Factor in the 'small numbers, small company' aspect and it's.. actually pretty close to acceptable.>>8801743that's the He-Man guys?
>>8801861>>8801924>Dreamexwow they look like the 2003 versions but with more colorful and elaborate pads and stuff.. very nice.
>>8802540>what else can playmates do to save their line?invest in higher qualityor else continue being cheap garbage for little kids, which is fine except kids today are not going to be giving you money in 30 years the way we are, because what you're putting out is not a significant life-changing event the way old Turtles shit was.>>8802553also this. just have 'price points' dont worry about fitting everyone into the same box
>>8802826holy shit she's so ugly in cg but so cute here..
>>8801861>The best turtles are from DreamEX.I still maintain this is the best April we've ever gotten. Classic yellow jumpsuit aside, her face is really well done, it's Megan Fox-ish while still being cartoony and her own person if you didn't care about the Bay movies - a good compromise. >Stealth complaint that Neca has no plans on doing Bay turtles so I can't make a hall of aprils with cartoon, hoag, turco, and fox.
>>8802540They could release this fucking krang so I have someone else to hang out with bebop and rocksteady.
>>88032372D > 3D pig disgusting.
>>8803240This is how Megan Fox should have looked in the movies. Out of the Shadows was so close to being good and getting TMNT right it hurts.
>>8803240Wwwwow. That has to be one of the ugliest female action figure faces I have EVER seen.she's like 50% Megan Fox and 50% Kristen Schaal
>>8803265uh, are those meant to be in scale?
>>8803295You know what, I need to fix this.. here's a couple-minute shoop
>>8803342and just for the '87 puristsit annoys me how nobody is allowed to have dark eyes anymore. everybody's gotta have bright-ass blue eyes all the time.
New thread>>8803374>>8803374>>8803374>>8803374
>>8802570>>8802826Yeah, I don't see Playmates doing any of this. Turtle Mania is happening among collectors, but only for that late 1980s-early 1990s period, not the franchise as a whole. The smart thing for them would just be to keep doing what they're doing, hope whatever incarnation of Turtles we get next is a hit, and support that with toys. Origins and Masterverse were timed with the Sony movie (delayed due to COVID) and Netflix series (same thing)
