Make it cool looking.
Wow, I didn't know we had an angler fish piece, cool!
>>8794446>post gen 4 pokemon
>>8794451>Cerulean city>post gen 4 pokemonwhat??
>>8794453So it is. I didn't recognise it.
>>8794451It's from HG/SS
>>8794456meaning that at most its from gen 4, in other words, not post gen 4
>>8794448it's not cool, it's SHIT
With hidden side flopping, once Harry Potter is over how are we gonna get our gothic horror fix? Will Ninjago cannibalize and appropriate it as its been doing with everything else?
>>8794461Worse, anon... It's already happened.
>>8794462reported for hate crimes
>>8794461No, Lego is just gonna keep pushing the AR thing until they inevitably lose half their capital on it.
I like this set. It's pretty soulful as far as nuLego is concerned.
>>8794470Yeah, City occasionally gets a few really good sets. Still not good enough to pay the 20% City tax though.
>>8794472>jungle set>lego CITYWhy?
Who else forgot Lego launched a version of ideas for full themes?https://worldbuilder.tongal.com/discover?page=1&sort=overallPopularitybtw, apparently a theme has already been picked up: https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-world-builder-has-acquired-its-very-first-world/
>>8794483based
>>8794479By the year 2028 the only remaining lines will be City, Ninjago, the Mouse. All others shall be consumed.
LETS GO BIONICLELETS GO
>>8794470I think it has a bit too much going on and feels yet again like multiple separate sets slapped together, especially the heli and the carnivorous plant in the back.
>>8794488GO AWAY BIONICLEGO AWAY
>>8794479because they'd rather associate sets with an established theme rather than create a new theme from scratch. These days it requires too much effort since they have to create lore and shit, it's easier for them to just use generic minifig heads with one or two special outfits and attach it to citythey put a city in the background of the art
>>8794470Nah its actually pretty soulless, the plane and temple are rather shallow builds that just sit there not doing anything.
>>8794470>no indians/black savagesshit
>>8794496>the plane and temple are rather shallow builds that just sit there not doing anything. So, just like real crashed planes and abandoned temples?
>>8794499And not like adventurers, the theme it was made instead of
>>8794498>/toy/ demanding MORE diversity in their setsWell there's a first
>>8794496The temple clearly has a boulder trap function, and it looks like there's something at river level too. Maybe a trap door?
>>8794500Those sets have plenty of features that you refuse to see through your nostalgia goggles.
>>8794491>>8794496diversity of interactive elements is actually a really positive thing. using up all the pieces on a single main structure or vehicle just to make it a little bit bulkier and prettier is diminishing returns when as is it already perfectly conveys what its trying to represent and this way makes room for a lot of extra components that greatly expand the possible scenarios in terms of playability
>>8794451Gen 4 where the quality fell off, though. Perhaps you meant "post gen 3?"
>>8794507list them
>>8794470I really wanted to like this series. And some sets are excellent, but it had so much repetition between the sets. Are they out of ideas?>big truck >small buggy/jeep >transport helicotper >speed boats That sums up the majority of the sets. The actual jungle is almost always (>>8794470 this is the exception) an alibi piece of like 50 bricks so you get at least something else besides the same looking vehicles. The vehicle to jungle parts ratio must look like 80 to 20%. I would have prefered if there would have been just jungle landscape with maybe a tiny car and 2-3 figures instead of having those 3 large sets with very similar vehicles. A lot of missed potential in my opinion.I also would have been very cool if the theme of that crashed plane in the jungle would have been the main theme for all the sets, with little white plane parts in all of the sets to be found. But whatever, still one of the stronger city themes of the recent past i think.
>>8794505The top of the temple is a flat platform, its lazy and an ugly build.>>8794508No.
>>8794505It's no use. Your logic, arguments, evidence and reasoning have no power against the nebulous ephemera that is soul. Soulfags cannot and will never be pleased.
>>8794514Kids want vehicles and not landscape, sadly.
>>8794514even the old adventure sets (both jungle and dino island) barely have trees, its mostly bits of fooliage thrown here and there, your imagination does the rest. you can play with vehicles, you cant play with trees unless apart from some forced gimmicks
Soul should be wordfiltered on /toy/
>>8794446That's pretty cool actually. I like it
>>8794514only two sets from the jungle theme have an actual tree and even then its a single one. unless you find a way to make them playable there's not much point in pouring too many pieces on purely contextual background scenario
>>8794543>nostalgiafags will defend this
wow, a single molded tree, now this is the soul I miss
>>8794531>>8794543>>8794548The problem for me is that these all look like one solid playset, instead of a random mish-mash of vehicles and small builds and animals like pretty much all big City sets.
>>8794543the amount of soul in this set is off the scales
>>8794514>nuLegounique brickbuilt trees with useful pieces and fully integrated with the set environment>>8794543>>8794548>classicLegomolded piece plopped on the floor as filler
>>8794548I wanted that set so badly as a kid but never got it.I think it's time to rectify that and buy the parts to build me a sweet ass river boat.
>>8794551a challenger appears!
>>8794557Excuse me that is not a soulful single piece tree, that is a soulless tree made of many bricks.
>>8794557I never got the Desert -> Jungle -> Uhhhh Jurassic Park evolution. Should have been Arctic or something.
>>8794561the mummy, indiana jones, jurassic parkthe trifecta of the action adventure genre
>Single pie-
>>8794557This set is a goddamn mess. It's the haphazard collection of small elements of modern lego combined with the blocky ugliness of old lego. Early 2000s lego was the worst period in history.
I think this is the jungliest lego as ever gotten and its a pirate set
>>8794566>noooo why does lego look like legoperhaps invest in a different hobby
>>8794561they did, just didnt call it adventure
>>8794570It looks like shit is what it looks like. I don't know what legos you've been playing with but my lego looks way better than your lego.
based street sweeper uses prints for the recycle thingy <3
>>8794566you shut your whore mouth right now. delete this post immediately
>>8794523Then make it a big temple ruin set to explore and not just a 4x6 based "ruin" as an alibi that these are actually explorers.
>>8794566It's very "we fired everyone who knew how to design lego sets and replaced them with idiots fresh out of 'design' school".
>>8794543If that would have been a modern set then we had 3 large vehicles and a temple in the size of the small car
>>8794550Basically this. Parts distribution between vehicle and temple is around 50:50 it seems.
>>8794569Take this, remove the pirates (and maybe the natives too), add a small boat and 3 explorers and it would be the perfect jungle exploration set as a centerpiece for all the vehicles of >>8794514
>>8794582>and maybe the natives toothat's genocide
>>8794582>take out the best parts and replace them with modern soulless city No.
>>8794579sure anon, sure, I totally believe you
>>8794582raised baseplates are no more. lego used to outsource them from another company
>>8794584All we do is science.
>>8794578Speaking of which, you know how the fiber optic system (a battery box, a wire, and a led brick thingy) in this set cost lego more to manufacture than the whole set sold for? Well, did you ever check what this thing sold for? 74 USD in 1996. Those 3 pieces were costing them over $70 to manufacture for some reason.
>>8794588>lego used to outsource them from another companySo what?Lego is too poor to make them by themse
>>8794484If something like that got picked, do you think a theme purely about brickbuilt prehistoric animals would have a chance??Honestly don't know if it is even worth it submitting anything because we all know how retarded Lego is in picking Ideas sets (and a theme too, Jesus that one's garbo).
>>8794587You fool, you activated my trap card. I can say that you set is still missing something. What is it missing?Soul.
>>8794592yes, TLC is a small indie studio, please understand
>>8794587It's sad that lego thinks they need to add ninjashit to stuff like this. Throw those minifigs in the drawer and what you're left with is is a really nice pagoda. They and the branding they carry are completely unnecessary for this set.
>>8794604true, I really miss the days of classic lego when oriental themes were free of ninjashit
>>8794608If Ninjago was just ninjas I'd be happy with it, nothing wrong with having a couple ninjas running around your oriental whatever scene. But they're not just ninjas, they're whatever gay plotline is happening this season and the minifigures look stupid. Someone not familiar with it wouldn't even think about that and it's for that reason that they're able to do it, but whenever I see them all I can feel is disgust at seeing them. Even hearing their names read off triggers some fight or flight response in me. But I guess that's just how it goes when you're a grown ass man trying to buy toys not just made for but catering to children.
>>8794572Shit, was this the last use of that dome part? I loved that thing. Maybe I need to pick this set up.
>>8794617Imagine how nice it must be to be those guys that exist in the expert ads, blissfully unheeding and unaware of the juvenile contrivances attached to those bricks.>Ninja Go, what's that? Hey that's a pretty cool temple, I'm going to buy it.Lucky bastards.
>>8794543This set was 450 pieces for 80 bucks making it like the most overpriced set of that era. As much as i loved the adventures theme as a kid i could never afford it or more likely thought i could buy better sets for so much money.
>>8794624That was the "we don't know what any of our sets cost to manufacture" era, so you had lots of stuff that was a great deal and lots of stuff that was horribly overpriced.
>>8794604>>8794617>>8794621It's funny, I bought Ninjago City Gardens because it's a gorgeous cyberpunk cityscape (bordering on overwatch-esque solarpunk). I couldn't care less about Ninjago as a theme, so will be selling the figures for a tidy sum on the side. From a marketing perspective it makes sense to tie more experimental sets to an established theme, and at least it means that Lego is more open to experimenting with aesthetics a bit more in themes with a known audience. It's a pity that we have to deal with all the tacked on bullshit, but you can sell them off for a decent amount.
>>8794646Were it not for Ninjago, we wouldn't have gotten Lego Tron. That's not to say I like that everything Lego does is now under the Ninjago umbrella. It's a crying creative shame. I miss Hidden Side.
>>8794646Who's buying all the ninjago minifigures? That shit's been going for ten years now, how has someone who wants to collect them not already had their fill of flavor of the month ninja minifigures?
>>8794655i have no idea.As silly as "army building" with Lego figures is, it at least makes sense for "soldier" type figures like Stormtroopers, Knights etc. But Ninjago Characters?
>>8794543>>8794569>>8794608Raised base plates were peak of lego soul
>>8794655>>8794670Eh, some of their outfits (like Rebooted, Tournament of Elements, and Fire and Ice) as well as the original outfits, are generic enough to be used as medieval Japanese troops, but a lot of the other outfits are just too specific to really be useful outside of their setting/character.
>see Ninjago Jungle Dragon>full of dark teal>two awesome islanders>great PPP>only $40Bros, I might have to get two of these
>>8794782Many people bitch about Ninjago, but THE one thing it excells at is dragon sets.
>>8794800It only does fucking dragons tho.Once in a bluemoon you get a giant rhino. It's beyond criminal the deep sea wave doesn't have a single shark or big octopus.
>>8794488not lego
>>8794533Agreed
>>8794461none, we'll just go setless for years outside of tiny spooky seasonals. spooky lego is dead for nowi'm just going to customize the haunted house ride for a while to cope. taking out the adventurers elements and replacing them with spooky stuff
>>8794503diversity is okay so long as its realistic (savages/subhuman as an antagonistic faction like islanders, indians, etc)
>>8794803Or Deep Ones.
>>8794670>>8794714Half the inhabitants of my town are some kind of ninja, the figs are like 90 cents on bricklink and completely generic to anyone who isn't deeply invested in the lore
>>8794446I can't find the bionicle thread because it's not linked. I guess this thread is lego enough. Why was 2006 so comfy? Even if you don't count the toa or even the piraka, literally every set is worth looking at. Hate the fact I got out of my lego phase by the time I was in 5th grade cause shitty inner city school and they way being creative and building was seen as fag behavior
>>8794543I bought this with the box intact from my local lego reseller for $70, I love the shit out of this one.
>>8794608I wish Ninjago were set in older times like these
>>8794897Cause 2006 was the best year. Great combination of sandbox setting and adventure.
have we spotted any of the ninjago sea eels with a booba yet?
>>8794897Wasn't 2006 the year Good Guy came in??Thus your entire premise falls flat on it's face.
>>8794925If I was a few years older, and went to the school that is here in the town I live in now, I would probably have lived out my angsty teen years blasting all american rejects and bionicle heroes after school
>>8794930He said set. Not promo tie-in. But if you want to play semantics the Bad Guy figures were fun as little mooks and Good Guy could easily be improvised into a Karzahni matoran.>>879489706 was the year that tried to give us the 01 experience again but flipped on it's head.>canisters arriving to an island in peril, but they contain villainous false toa that enslave the matoran instead of help them>Voya Nui is much like Mata Nui but it's secrets are ominus as opposed to mystical>a return to the more primal surviving the elements/impending darkness Metru saga was all about being a dystopian society that fell apart due to political corruption and invasion, and the island being more of a city gave it a much different tone. Look at how the focus was about evacuating the populace, as opposed to trying to obtain a mcguffin. Sure, there were the great disks, but they were a much smaller part of the prequel saga, and while Keetongu kinda counts, a master of venoms doesn't click the same way the mask of life did in bring back that 01 treasuer hunt feel with the golden masks.
>>8794951>He said set. Not promo tie-in.Jesus the cope is strong.>But if you want to play semantics the Bad Guy figures were fun as little mooks and Good Guy could easily be improvised into a Karzahni matoran.Very strong.
>>8794955>copeYou're the one using a promo polybag as an example when he said the sets were good. Fuck outta here.
>>8794897>>8778088The thread is quite deserving of it's name
>>8794930>Good Guy>being a bad setLook at the faggot here with no taste.
Anyone else make an F-Zero racer? It would be fun if we could get a whole league's worth of them. Maybe this could be the March challenge.
>>8794608I have this set on my desk, doesn’t look so good next to unexpected gathering and pirate ship 3-1. I thought about taking modern ninja go to give it a facelift but can’t find any similar pieces
>>8794930You think a Good guy is a bad set? AHAHAHAHA YOU FUCKING RETARD. Good guy is superior to any of that shit that came ou in 2001-3. Lol you fucking imbecile.
>>8794951>>8794933Glad to see fellow anons with exquisite taste.
>>8794958A promo polybag is still a set you coping faggot.
>>8794604how is it sad then if you can just sell/dissemble the minifigs? How is free shit, even if useless to you, a bad thing?
>>8794882someone get lego on the phone, they'd totally o a Lovecraftian season and maybe even include a cat
>>8795055with Ninjago the best you can get is a tentacle dragon
>>8795055>and maybe even include a catThey already have Monkie Kid
>>8795059feel like there's a joke here you're not getting
>>8795062I feel like there's a joke you're not gettingLovecraft's cat = Niggerman Nigger Man = Monkie Kid
I really don't get why Lego has not attempted to bring back Exo Force. Merge that with Bionicle and have it as a Castle style mech series and you'd appeal to virtually everyone.
>>8795067ah I thought you were saying there was already a cat in monkie kid setsnice going based and redpilled fren
>>8795031>I-it counts as a set therefore anon was wrong saying the 06 sets were all great>m-my opinion that Good Guy sucks is true and you're just copingToss my salad, bitch.
>>8795069>Castle style mech series a-anon I...
>>8794998Amazing anon!
>>8795069Ninjago basically is Exo Force nowadays, so.
>>8795070Thank you, fren anon
Does anyone know which dino this foot is from? Got it in a parts lot, but it's missing its pair.
>>8795095Looks like it's from that mutant dino apocalypse line that had guns in the US release and traps in the UK release
>>8795095
>>8795099>>8795100Neat, thanks. Now to decide what to do with it.
>>8795102giant reptile gf
>>8795099>>8795100maybe it's nostalgia but is there a more based dino-line than this?read and tan makes such a great fictional military look. still wish i had the t-rex
>>8795124dayum that's a fine ass whyt boy
Post nuLego sets that still manage to be SOULful
>>8794933That's basically what I did when I was 11 in 06. Good times.
>>8795134>is there a more based dino-line than this?funny thing is it wasn't just the british who got the neutered version, I'm pretty sure it was EU as a whole. Had they guns here I would had probably bought some of them
>>8795163licenseshit but still
>>8795167please don't take this the wrong way europol, I'm a good and happy working eyropoor!
>>8795163This one is great - new one is peak souless.
>>8795163Legacy Destiny’s Bounty. Manages to be both beautiful and functional. Sturdy and looks good at almost any angle. Has a deck big enough to hold all seven included minifigs with room to spare. Includes plenty of little nooks and crannies to explore when playing, but they fold up nice and securely when not wanted. No side build to drain resources from the main event; every single piece is dedicated to making the ship better. Excellent price per part ratio and value. Unique enough to be the keystone of someone’s collection, but generic enough to just be a gorgeous ship sailing on the seven seas. I’d HIGHLY recommend everyone getting a copy of this set, even just to hold on to sealed. There’s no doubt that this thing will skyrocket in price in a few years, since it’s a beauty that Lego can’t really improve on without it being totally different.
>>8795192I still prefer movie Destiny's Bounty, but the Legacy one is not bad set either.
>>8795182man that’s a nice set. another cool thing is it’s not licenshit if you don’t use the stickers and swap in different minifigs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWrk5BZ014MWhat are the opinions on 2 seater lego cars? I personally love them, and I liked that the 2020 Speed Champions lineup made it possible to have some even if with 8 stud wide cars, I hope they don't revert that with the 2021 lineup. But I know there are some haters of it out there, saying that its too wide not fit on lego roads. But is it possible to make it 2 seater cars without 8 stud wide setup, that still allows enough detail on the side of the car?Should 2 seater 8 stud wide cars become the standard and have non-speed champion sets, like city sets also include them?
>>8795238I like the 8 wides too, but it's frankly embarrassing how that widt is even needed when it's possible to do with 6 wide ones already yet for some arbitary reason they refuse to do it. Is it really just afol city autists screaming about consistency or what?.
>>8795205The movie one is nice, sure, but the Legacy one is not only cheaper, but it also replicates the functions it has on the show AND is more visually striking.
>>8795192"For bricks and giggles" said that Legacy Destiny’s Bounty was the best minifig scale LEGO set ever.
>>8794621me AFOL , me good gorilla
>>8795182Where's the Gwen Stacy that can snap her neck?
>>8795247well as with the car you posted there is actually cheating with the surfboard (hate that lego team moved it down completely destroying the aesthetic reason it was there in the first place but nvm that). Without the surfboard the panel pieces that allow space for 2 passengers on the inside make the outside flat and hard to detail. That's why making a 6 stud wide car a 2 seater and have it external detailing on the side at the same time, very very hard.
>>8795272Good lord, that's a Grug if I ever saw one
>>8795192I disagree, the whole mechanism beneath the build that is supposed to flip the engines out for flight mode seems completely useless, the engines barely slide out of their housing and you really have to tug on the "fins" It just feels poorly designed.
>>8795306Are you sure you’re not retarded or something? Sure, the side engines are a bit small, but they actually slide in and out very smoothly with the fins. It’s quite an elegant design that handles the odd angles well. Plus the fact that it hides away so well from most angles is amazing- that’s how you can use it as a normal ship and ignore the flying part if you want.
>>8795310No im pretty sure the mechanism is retarded, don't project on me redditboy
>>8794461It'll be a ninjago wave at most. Every other theme is turning into generic futuristic marvel/fortnite color vomit quirky cartoony poggers eceleb I could go on...
swallow the monkie pill, doomers
>>8795386cringe
>>8795386How much social credit score Xi pays you?
>>8795386That pig fig looks like it belongs in a better theme.
>>8795386monkie kid is the most soulful theme lego has released in years
Get in the fucking robot, Shinji
>>8795391>>8795391>>8795392>waaaa China pandering1/5th of humanity bitch. I'd rather have more themes based on ancient literature than licenseshit any day.Actually, why don't we get a cool line based on the Odyssey. I don't think Lego has ever really done sword and sandals.
>>8795410Is the soul the reason I need to pay extra for all the shit I don't want in the sets plus extra China tax?
>>8795386I'd be surprised if this lasts 2 years. The cartoon looks good though.
>>8795051Because they're not free you dumb shit, you're paying for them when you buy the set. They make you buy 7 minifigures that you don't want.
Nothing in China is isolated from the communist party government, nevermind something that was done solely for the chinese.

>>8795470if the minifigs are uncommon or rare, you can get back the price of the set fully by selling the minifigs
Daily reminder to all Monkie haters.
>>8795485Do you post graphs like this everytime someone says they hate Star Wars and Marvel too?
Meh, I like the cartoon so I'm planning to buy this whenever it's available in my shithole, just for the minifigures. Not that I'll be able afford more though, that's my poorfag cope.
>>8795485Fuck Monkie kid, shitty chink pandering garbage
>>8795498No, because Marvel has never had a good set ever. And Star Wars is popular globally. As long as there aren't black people in it, according to China.
>>8795502>No, because Marvel has never had a good set everAh, just like Monkey Kid!
Just curious, what job do you guys do and how much does it allow you to afford Lego?
>>8795569DATAMINER BEGONE
>>8795580lol, was just wondering if we're mostly minimum wage idiots living paycheck to paycheck and still wasting most of our disposable income on plastic pieces or very well of people that get away with throwing away tons of money at expensive hobbies

>>8795498>graphIt's not a graph, mouthbreathing fool.>Marvel and Star WarsLiking one thing doesn't make you like the other. >>8795500Look a retard.Seriously, do any of you have actual reasons for not liking Monkey Kid? Or does it all boil down to "It's marketable so it sucks" or "waa China"? It's not licenseshit. Better hope it does well or Lego's just going to continue the trend into licensed sets for manchildren.
>>8794569S O U L
>>8795569I’m a game dev. I make about 90k a year but a lot of it goes toward living in an expensive as fuck place. Still have plenty left for an expensive set every other month or so, though
>>8795668Sameanon but I actually got back into lego because of the pandemic, disposable income from not going on vacations and wanting indoor hobbies that don’t involve staring at a screen
>>8795569I'm jobless rn but can't see how much my spending habits would actually change, maybe i'd buy stuff off bricklink too and Ninjago Garden but I don't have a real urge to just consoom.
>>8795639You will never be a minifig.
>>8795682How can you possibly afford ninjago gardens while unemployed?
>>8795676I got back into lego for the same reason. Doing something tactile is surprisingly good for dealing with the sensory deprivation of quarantine.
>>8795703He’s saying he’d buy it if he were employed, reading comprehension anon
>>8795639I don't care about Chima, in fact I love how the theme makes burgers go apeshit crazy but what I really hate is the choice of colours and fact that every set is a vehicle just like in ninjago.
>>8795745>I don't care about ChimaGood, cause it was an awful, shitty theme for furries.
>>8795569software developer in a shitty east european county. I could afford a 20-25$ a month on lego but haven't spent much at all in the past 5 years, I'm trying to put enough money aside to be able to buy a small aperment in the nearby city.today I'm 30 and still living with my parents. That alone is already not cool despite me paying my part of the expenses of the family. But buying legos would definetly not make me a responsible adult.
>>8795485okay... but how much money do the parent of those kids have?Lego is like the gold of toys, dunno how you gonna sell gold to a bunch of ricefarmers(no offense, don't mean to stereotype, but realistically a large part of chine is underdeveloped and dependent on local farming)
>>8795569factory manual labor. I'm saving up for early retirement so for Lego I just set aside aside 30€ a month and I exclusively buy used pieces from bricklink

this is a pretty cool fig to be honest
>>8796338Nothing wrong with a theme that based on a Chinese folktale that panders to Asians. It's the fact that the Chinese Communist Party has their hands in the production of the theme that is concerning, not only because it makes the sets cost more than they should, but it also directly funds the CCP, a group responsible for much of today's great evils, like actual concentration camps and colonization and natural resource draining in Africa.I mean, buying lego in general probably helps fund them anyway, but to a lesser degree like most other products. I draw the line at directly handing them money; they're gonna have to work a bit harder to get my cash.

>>8796477Everything that produced/sold for a Chinese audience requires Chinese involvement. So for any business to operate in China, there must be some Chinese members on staff or partnership with a Chinese company. Combine this with the fact that ALL Chinese companies with any success at all have to be, at least partially, government owned, and you have the terrible situation where the CCP can make mandates on products for their markets, which often trickle over to Western markets as well. It’s what made ActivisionBlizzard awful, what makes nobody like Epic (Tencent), and why so many people hate Monkie Kid, as it’s produced in open cooperation with the CCP and can’t be found in regular stores in the US, only in LEGO stores and more freely in China. Plus, the sets are priced/valued as if they’re licensed, but it’s an original IP, meaning that licensing money is going directly to China.

>>8796820There’s a difference between ‘aggressively entering new markets with different ideas’ and ‘funding coups to weaken other states so you benefit.’ A difference between ‘having profit as the primary motive of your company’s business’ and ‘gutting your product to reduce cost while using threats of market manipulation to stifle out or absorb all competitors’. Between ‘being greedy and wanting a nation to do well so everyone in that nation adores you’ and ‘having no loyalty to any one nation and letting the highest bidder dictate your actions’. I don’t want to get even more into politics here in these LEGO threads, but long story short Monkie Kid is a perfect case study of what’s wrong with this world, and anyone too invested into it is, knowingly or not, making the world that much worse bit by bit.
>>8796848Eh, if I do that it just looks weird, the wheel base is long enough as it is already. Think I've found a solution, though. >>8796248>8 wide should be for trucks only. It's way too much for minifigs. You don't adress the question tho.Isn't it stupid that lego cars are single seaters?I think they are. 20 years ago 4 stud wide cars were the minifig scale, but not we evolved beyond that and we do 6 stud wide cars.Aren't 8 stud wide cars accaptable if that means that they are for 2 minifigs? If you can make a 2 seater sportscan as detailed as the speed champion ferrari or nissan gt-r in less than 8 studs, I would be happy to see it.
>>87969067 wide would be enough but the system isn't really built for odd measures
>>8796900I mean, if there was discussion on build designs and new parts/colors, I’d still be pissy but would have to accept the discussion as valid/legitimate. But pretty much all positive Monkie Kid discussion I see is either just mindless CONSOOM or one freak that simps for a Nya knockoff. There’s very rarely a sense that these posts are coming from actual lego fans. I mean, I’m a big defender of Ninjago, but it still has its flaws and stinker sets. Most of the time if I’m getting a set I’m wondering what I can use the parts for, not just making a big display of by-instruction displays.
>>8796884I am so sad you are right

I'll definitely be posting that once it's completed.
>>8796925I don't personally think any of the sets are bad, some are certainly meh and the prices jacked up don't help, but overall the theme is more on the plus side, the colors, techniques used, I mean just look at the wings of this thing. Even tho the sidebuild is near garbage the ship is gorgeous. The cartoon is one of the best Lego has produced and puts Ninjago's jank to shame by a countrymile. I love that style and wish it was adopted for most of lego cartoons going forward as it makes the unrealistic moves the minifigs make much more bearable to look. But I can't ignore the context and will not. Fuck monkeyshills.

>>8796992Well sure but innovative part use should always be acknowledged, even if it’s not particularly useful innovations. Like the Legacy Zane mech. Not only does it use silver beehives for thrusters, but it also has spring green studs inside covered by trans blue studs, to give a 3D effect that singular pieces alone can’t achieve. Or hell, just the obsession with hot dog pieces. I guess that angle bend is just that useful. Or using pink frogs as cherry blossoms.

I noticed that legos aren't to clearance in my country anymore. Shops that specify in selling legos, start to bump up the prices the moment something is no longer in production. checked the other day, a minifig scale rally car that was up on the shelves for 10$ in 2017. The shop lists it for $30.I don't understand how retailers can do that. I understand some scalper buying it and try selling it on ebay, but the retailers themselves scalping the sets is bullshit. The moment they realized how much the new X-wing is sought after they bumped up the countrywide price from $45 to $70, in the retail store. Wtf is going on?

>>8797952Based Lego. I wouldn't want that fagggot as one of my representatives.
I'm glad my wife has stopped buying me big collections of sets that are 80% stuff I already have more than enough of, and instead gets rare stuff that she's sure I don't already have
>>8797952he was honestly a dumbass the way he was acting, if you're posting leaks, talking about lepin and shit talking other youtubers that Lego works with, what do you expect? he was being such an obnoxious person
>>8798117it is if you think about it, lego basically doesn't lose value, usually it gains value, ignoring all that complicated inflation crap and so on
>>8795238One CADfag designed a very cool 6-wide 60s Landrover for whole pack of Adventurers team. 6 wide, seating 2 minifigs side by side, opening doors and rear hatch. Seating for 4 and a lot of cargo space + front winch. Everything nicely scaled to minifig proportions. It looked like this, also red and with white top and wheel on hood. Does anyone remember it?
>>8798187I remember it. Looked like a real set.
Is there a bricklink equivalent for bootleg and or offbrand pieces?

Havent played with Lego since I was a kid but would be neat to try it out again. Which current themes are considered tranny themes so I know what to avoid?
>>8798368vidiyo
>>8798368Harry Potter is as tranny as it gets
>>8798313>the city street sweeperCan confirm, it's a very comfy little vehicle and as >>8798344mentioned, the "bristles" actually rotate as it rolls forward.

How much can 200€ get me on bricklink if I just want to build cool structures and give zero fucks about minifigures?
>>8798491Instead of bricklink, consider buying a bulk unsorted lot on craigslist (optimal, since you won't have to pay for shipping if it's local) or ebay. This way you can get a huge amount of parts for a comparatively low price. The sellers usually strip the minifigs before they put the lots up for sale.
>>8798496I wanted to more or less plan and choose the bricks I want though
>>8798507how much you get out of your monies is dependent on what bricks you choose then
>>8798507$200-300 can go a long way if you're not after anything too interesting and pick a good store. It'd also be easy to say its not nearly enough once you get into a big project, but, it CAN be enoughFind a store that parts out multiples of sets, and prices parts at or below average. It is so easy to get married to one store because of one thing you found, but wind up overpaying for everything else in the order. It's hard to know what to recommend parts wise without knowing build styles, or if you have any collection already. I bought some insanely cheap friends lots off of ebay just to get some tan buildings started, after selling the mini dolls I basically got 20lbs of lego for less than $100
>>8797533I always thought it was some kind of ancient luggage cart holding magical and cursed items. And he has to spend his afterlife wandering the desert, so he may as well have a way to carry his treasured belongings. Besides It's creepy to think of you being lost in the desert, hear the screeching of those wheels on top of the wind, and then see that guy approach to you.
>>8798187Anon, it's your lucky day, I liked it so much, I saved it.
>>8798574
>>8795569Unemployed Doomer here, I only buy one or two small sets a year from Christmas and birthday money. >>8795499I kind of like this set. Somehow it feels like it'll be $20 though just because it's Monkie Kid.
