This one looks like it's the closest to the original toy. Kinda underwhelming, but so was the original toy, imo. I'm still hoping for flying queen alien and Atax, myself.
>>
>>8792129
The fact that they put the Flying Queen on that upcoming Guardian packaging gives me hope we'll see her happen.

What are the chances of a bride of franky? I feel like they're gonna make everyone except her for some reason but idk why they'd skip her. Would sell for sure.

>This one looks like it's the closest to the original toy. Kinda underwhelming, but so was the original toy, imo.
I completely disagree. The original Kenner figure is streamlined, the NECA one isn't, the details on the hind legs are all wrong, specially the feet, I'm not sure what the fuck is supposed to be dat tail but the Kenner one got something that looks more leaf-like, not like a glove, dat thing on the back looks rough, nothing like the flying parasite the original got and the paint looks like an amateur custom. And finally, the original is a great figure.

>>
are there chances of paint damage from dunking figures in boiled water? I think these shoes are on the wrong sides and I'd like to swap them over
>>
>>8792903
Nope, not those. Hard plastics are fibe in extreme heat. It's only real soft rubber that can crack or take damage. Those shoes will pop off no problem.
>>
Is Target ever going to ship me my Krang I paid for weeks ago?

Will BBTS ever get my Doc Brown pre-order in?

Does NECA hate me?
>>
>>8792908
so i just boil some water and dunk them in up to the ankles? the shoes will soften and pop off and back on?
>>
>>8792939
I'm waiting for a BBTS doc brown too, bud. Hopefully they get it this month.
At least they shipped some figuarts I bought last week.
>>
>>8792942
Yep exactly! Give it like 30-40 seconds. Just make sure you know where the post is facing to pop it off.
>>
>>8792903
Use very warm water. not boiling water
>>
>>8792942
do you have a blow dryer? it'll take you 15 seconds. don't waste time with water.
>>
>>8793257
Unfortunately I don't, but I'll get my hands on one instead of using water. ty for the advice,
>>
Trusted NECA suppliers in the UK? I'm scared of buying bootlegs
>>
>>8793262
Use the boiled water. You want the shoes soft enough to pop off the pegs. The hair dryer will be too uneven on the heat. Trust me. Just hold the figure's ankles in the water and you're good to go. 2 mins in a cup in the microwave is all you need.
>>
>>8792129
>>8792483
The kenner updates were never supposed to be 1:1 recreations of the old ones.
>>

I can't find him either, I've run into both Triceraton sets and Splinter/Baxter multiple times, but I've never seen Krang once. I'm hoping they put him up for preorder on NECA's site like they've done with a lot of the harder to find turtle sets.

>>8792483
Different anon, but I saw this coming from a mile away. I’m only surprised by the parasite gimmick appearing to have hinged clips of some sort on panther’s back to keep it in (not a huge surprise, mind you). Parasite aside I knew it was gonna be Dog with a different head and a new paint job. Wish the feet were more like the original Kenner’s but whatever. Tail looks like they wanted to get some mileage out of the Gorilla mold. Still, I’m gonna get this.
>>
>>8793713
It's not the gorilla tail. It's a newly sculpted tail.

This is bullshit. They're tiny little shoes, quit wasting time on something the size of your thumbnail. I've been doing it for 15 years with zero problems.
>>

>>
>>8793590
That's completely different, though. Super7 is doing that stuff (and the TMNT stuff) to basically look almost exactly like the old 90's toys, just with more modern articulation. NECA is taking old 90s stuff and saying "What if we took the old designs/colors, and made them look more realistic, like they walked out of a movie?"

They don't have the Scream likeness any more. It was overall cheaper to license the costume itself, and allowed them to do more things with the set mask-wise and weapon-wise.

>>
>>8802866
Legally, yes. It's a figure based on the Halloween costume. That just happens to come with enough items to make it the Scream killer. But that's just a legal coincidence.
>>
>>8802878
Then what's the point of making it if it's not the version people know about? At least with DBD they were allowed to create their own lore for the design.

>Then what's the point of making it if it's not the version people know about?

What does it matter? It's Ghostface. Whether it's a figure of the movie character, or just the Halloween costume, it'd be the same figure.
>>
>>8801509
He's over an inch taller than Neca Godzillas.
>>
>>8802898
Ghost face is ghost face you dumbo. The scream movie version was literally based on the costume. It's the same shit. The only difference would be the accessories and how hard the length of the cloak is. I think the costume has a belt too but it's literally the same shit.

What are you, some kind of dumb ESL? The question was already answered here: >>8803063
The main Predator of P2 was the City Hunter. Though, to be fair, I don't think any Preds are actually named in any of the movies, nor are they even listed with names in the credits except for MAYBE the AvP movies.

>>8803722
The reason people always bring up Wolf is because they literally had a finished prototype like 5 years ago, and never released it. It just disappeared with no real reason as to why, especially since it was totally done and even had all the accessories. It just wasn't painted. The pic still gets posted from time to time, so I am sure someone has it.
>>
>>8803615
Its a completely different figure in the 2 pack
>>
>>8804356
You're the idiot because "scraggily" hair isn't supposed to be kept back like that. Do you know what victor looks like?
>>
With neca doing both TMNT and the universal monsters is it a possibility to get updated versions of the old universal horror turtles figures?
>>
>>8804503
Prooobably not through NECA. I think, anyway. I know they're trying not to step on each others toes, but unlike the "black variant" Super Shredder, those would fall more in line with Playmates side of things.

Or maybe not, who knows. If they're still toon turtles but made into Monsters? Could go either way.
>>
>>8804503
Theyre public domain, does universal need a fee for a raphael wrapped in toilet paper?

You mainly start running into rights issues when it comes to Frankensteins monster and the bride.
Vampire, werewolf, mummy, invisible man you can get away with being generic but the monster and bride are very version specific in design.
>>
From NECA's Instagram story.
>>
>>8804918
LOL They're basically saying their toys are shit! Why would they post this?
>>
>>8804919
Tbf, lots of companies say to give their figures a hot bath, or blow dry their figures before using them. It's a good practice if there are stuck joints.
>>
>>8804918
Jeez NECA, what makes you think this is ok?
>>
>>8804923
Oh... just noticed the caption, "ALWAYS DRAW A BATH FOR YOUR @NECAOFFICIAL FIGURES"... ok that's a bit odd that they say to do that for all of their figures.
>>
>>8804918
This is absolutely insane. An occasionally stuck joint is one thing, even high-end lines have that now and again, but you shouldn't have to fucking boil your action figures. NECA is insane

>>8804918

>>
>>8804923
>Tbf, lots of companies say to give their figures a hot bath
I have never ever seen this until now. Plenty of hairdryer recommendations, usually for popping on separate pieces, but never a company specifically telling people to give their products a bath.
>>
>>8805000
I'll second this. Until the last year or so I've NEVER seen a company outright telling people to heat up their figures to get them to function as intended. I've seen more than my fair share of that advice from people within the collecting community, but never from a company. That's like basically admitting that they're making a substandard product.
>>
>>8805015
>>8805000
You're both fucking retards then. 4Horsemen have recommended it, Nendoroid and Figma too. This isn't a new thing at all.
>>
>>8804918
Kek, don't forget to prep your Necas for the bull. >>8794149
>>
>>8804919
>They're basically saying their toys are shit!
How stupid are you exactly? That's not at all what's going on or being said.
>>
>>8805023
Where has figma stated to apply heat to get a joint to work as intended? Or Nendoroid? Maybe to replace swappable parts, but never to get the joints to work correctly.
>>
>>8805031
On the papers included dipshit. And yes, on the joints if they're too tight.
>>
>>8805015
>That's like basically admitting that they're making a substandard product.
That is not at all what that means. It's pretty bizarre that you'd jump right to that.
>>
>>8805035
I have more than a handful and the only time I've ever seen that on any of the instructions. I'll dig some out in a few.

>>8805038
What does it mean then? What are they trying to say by telling you to give your toys a hot bath?
>>
>>8805038
Pay him no mind, fellow necanon. It is perfectly normal to boil your toys so their arms and legs don’t snap off.
>>
>>8805043
>What are they trying to say by telling you to give your toys a hot bath?
Gee, I don't know, that heating up plastic can help unfreeze a tight joint because the plastic becomes more pliable? You know, like what a normal person would pull from that information?
>>
>>8805046
Die the most horrible death you can
>>
>>8805046
Now I need a photoshop of a fully uniformed chef boiling Necas in a pasta pot within a restaurant.
>>
>>8804918
Yeah, this is weird for them to co-sign.

Good advice from the one guy, but for NECA to essentially say "yes, if you don't pre-prepare your toys, it's your own fault if they break straight out of the package" is weird.
>>
>>8805051
stay mad forever necabeard
>>
>>8805055
That isn't what's going on there. You're adding that subtext yourself.
>>
>>8805049
>Gee, I don't know, that heating up plastic can help unfreeze a tight joint because the plastic becomes more pliable? You know, like what a normal person would pull from that information?
So that implies that the joints aren't going to work as intended to out of the package. Am I correct?
>>
>>8805049
That's what THEY'RE trying to say, but they're co-opting a post saying "if you don't do this with NECA toys, they break" to do so.
>>
>>8805060
Nope, not correct at all. Just like ANY toy line if something is stuck, you use heat as a tool to help get it moving.
>>
>>8805062
Thaaat's not true
>>
>>8805062
>but they're co-opting a post saying "if you don't do this with NECA toys, they break" to do so
No they're not. You're adding that because you want to. But that isn't what that means.
>>
>>8805064
>ANY toylines

But Neca uses shitty plastic and has the most issues of "ANY toyline"
>>
>>8805072
No, actually, they don't.
>>
>>8805066
>>8805067
I generally like NECA, but there's a world of difference between "use a hot bath to get stuck joints lose", which is good advice, and "always do this when buying from this company (or else)", which is an indictment of the engineering.
>>
>>8805082
Then you're an idiot for thinking it's that.
>>
>>8805064
But no other company has this issue on such a consistent level that they have to outright tell you to do it to all of their products. Sure I've gotten the occasional stuck joint on a toy, but never on such a consistent level as NECA.
>>
>>8805088
Bullshit, it's common as hell with collector toys, has been since McFarlane's heyday. And if you think it's not that consistent, you don't buy a whole lot of toys. I have to heat up Marvel Legends of all things most of the time.
>>
>>8805097
Hasbro doesn't recommend heating their toys out of the box though.
>>
>>8805078

They're clearly not on the same tier as mass market products being discussed here. You have to dig and dig for something even close to comparable and that's the closest you got.
