Todd posted this pic of Violator a little bit ago. McFarlaneCon soon for new reveals?
>>8781638Maybe everything here will be getting figures. Seems like a reasonable first wave.
>>8781642And this guy also on the way as a standalone release. There's apparently a deluxe one coming too, based on leaked listings.
>>8781638If these are statueshit I hope Todd dies in his sleep tonight
>>8781649Rest easy, it'll be staction-shit.
>>8781649You can see >>8781642 joints on these, and also joints on that Violator, notably in the hips. They'll be articulated the same way, for the most part barring weird bodies like Clown or Violator, using their "22-point" system.
>>8781649Don’t worry it’ll have joints but the torso will have a sexy twist so it has only one pose that works
You think these will get standard releases or are we looking at more Kickstarter shit?
>>8781675I bet they're all a retail line, including Violator. Whether he's a BAF, or a single packed figure (in a regular size or one of the new 'Mega Figs' size, remains to be seen) I think he and the Gunslinger and Redeemer shown will all be regular releases. The upcoming KS was slated to be a metal armor and weapons Medieval Spawn, basically something that couldn't reasonably be sold at retail.
>>8781672that Violator and Clown are old figures and don't necessarily reflect future releases
>>8781691That would be ideal. I think the success of the first Kickstarter really proved that there is a demand for updated Spawn figures. Maybe a new retail line will be the way we get a more articulated classic Spawn that a lot of people thought the Kickstarter wpuld be.
>>8781701Yes, but with Violator revealed now, it could very well be a hint of things to come, or perhaps was meant to show what the characters looked like to the retailers he was speaking with on that conference call.
>>8781720Oh yeah sure, I just meant that a figure from like 1999's articulation isn't gonna necessarily be an indicator of the new one's. I'm sure it'll be like everything else they put out now.
>>8781691>The upcoming KS was slated to be a metal armor and weapons Medieval Spawn, basically something that couldn't reasonably be sold at retail.Does he have to pay the Gay Man for that?
I really hope Violator isn't a BAF, I rather not have to buy a whole wave, I just want Clown, Violator, Overkill, Creech, Cygor and maybe Redeemer.
>>8781726Dude, remember KS Spawn. Everything turned out fine! just trust in papa Todd ;^)
>>8781730I hope so
damn it looks like its already pre-posed. so this is probably gonna suck bad. Redeemer and big hat-spawn, look good though. hope to hear more news on those soon.
Still waiting on my kickstarter classic spawn
>>8781638that violator looks crazy
>>8781638That texture work is nasty, I love it.
>>8781638It looks deep fried.
>>8781638What chicken nugget is this?
>>8782191You can pretty clearly see the lower torso joint, under the horn is probably a mid-torso joint. KS Spawn's torso is the exception to the rule (as in no other figure has had preposed elements like that), so until we blatantly see a big ass twist in his torso, I'm inclined to think that if it looks posed, it probably just is using its articulation.
>>8781642I can't wait for the gunslinger, I have always preferred gun heavy spawns to the ones with swords and shit. Now if he releases pic related but articulated, I'll be happy.
Lol how much articulation do y'all want a violator figure to have? I'll just be happy if he can stand upright
>>8782908I’d be happy with him being at least as articulated as their Demogorgon. But considering they’ve improved a lot since then, I’m sure they’ve figured out how to make big figures nicely articulated.
>>8782868I still have this guy. I gave his guns to the MK11 Spawn.
Spawn: Todd gives up edition
>>8783733Who needs paint? Not Spawn.
>>8783736Jeez look at the difference in quality on the gun here, vs the guns here >>8782868
>>8783733>>8783736God damn would it seriously kill them to give this thing a wash? It could almost look as good as this >>8782868. It looks cheap as hell as it is and that's like the antithesis of what McFarlane Toys was about.
>>8783774Plus it's 7" vs 12". If that's actually the final sculpt and paint, that's pretty damn rough.
>>8783812ehhh once they started moving towards articulation a couple years ago, they've been slacking on paint. sucks in this case since it's barely articulated if it is at all though. I've been checking out repaints on IG lately and it really highlights how good these figures could be with some more paint.
>>8783888Tempura Violator. Spawn battered him up and into the fryer he goes.
>>8781638Looks awfully beefy for Violator.
>>8783927He's sometimes pretty beefy.
>>8783736>>8783812>>8783860They've been getting lazier and cheaper lately. Look how bad Geralt's swords look being just bare grey plastic with no silver paint. Previously(Azrael for example) swords had been properly painted. I cancelled order when I saw this shit.
>>8784027They look like shit.
>>8784027>>8784030If it bugs me enough it's an easy fix, but it is weird how money is allocated. Sometimes they go the extra mile, and other times they cheap out.
>>8783733>>8783736Okay Todd but can I have the animated version please
>>8784248This is definitely a contender for most wanted update. If Cyborg is anything to go by this would turn out great.
>>8783736>>8783774Blame the chinksPaint for toys has gone through the fucking roof. They're charging by the brush stroke at this point.
>>8784254Yeah that DC animated buck is pretty close proportions wise. Just needs some new lower legs and arms.
>>8784030Just saw this guy in box, it looks much better in person than in these shots. Not great by any means, but the material differs between the two blades, as it should. Paint would have been nice though.
>>8784474>but the material differs between the two blades, as it should. Are you being serious? It's literally the same grey plastic used on both.
>>8784512They look a fair bit different from inside the package. Without remembering which sword is which, I can easily tell which is supposed to be the silver sword (the one on the right, I would guess).
>>8784601huh, that's really weird. Anyone in here actually have the figure? Curious how well the torso moves.
>>8784601Pretty sure that's just the lighting.
>>8781642I told you dorks we'd be getting a new Violator.
>>8784601I think something worth noting is how well painted the werewolf head is. As nice as that is, I feel as though the paint budget would have been better suited going to the weapons, assuming that was the reason.
>>8784614Yes, and it will be shit like >>8783736
>>8784723Not sure what the 12" figure has to do with the new Violator.
>>8784643I think its better that way. Way easier to paint swords myself than the head.
>>8784756Most people who collect walmart toys don't have an airbrush, but good for you.I couldn't give a fuck about the wolf-head.
>>8784758>Most people who collect walmart toys don't have an airbrushWhat? A brush and some silver paint is all you need. You couldn't ask for an easier paint job.
>>8783816Which one is 12"?I own the TRU Commando Spawn who's about 7" and you can see that even the sniper rifle he came with is detailed too.I was actually pretty disappointed with him, because it's still not as detailed as his 00s stuff.
>>8784756That's true, actually. >>8785079The new one is 12".
>>8783733>>8783736Is that a proposed torso?
>>8785377You bet your sweet ass it is
>>8783733>>8783736I wish he made this for the 7 inch line.
>>8785377Given that it's mostly a statue, it is by definition preposed.
>>8783927depends of the timeline
>>8785380I'm glad they didn't. I get that it's accurate to MK11 but with the cape it just doesn't feel like commando Spawn to me.
>>8785554...that's kind of hot
>>8785554>pubesLmao, what is Todd on?
Does anyone mass market paint weapons for their $20 figs anymore? Always a flat plastic folor to save money. Look at Goldar, he could have been incredible if they bothered to paint any of his gold parts.
>>8785789McFarlane does sometimes, which I'm guessing is why this is a big deal to some. Like Azrael's sword, V's guns, a lot of the Fortnite figures, etc. When you put in the expectation people will get mad at you when you don't.
>>8785746he didn't draw that page
>>8785950Didn't you know? Todd sculpts every toy by McFarlane Toys, manufactures them himself, paints them, ships them, and even delivers them to retailers! And he of course draws and colors every issue of Spawn. It's obviously all Todd! Just look through this thread, a lot of these smart posters know, always referring to Todd specifically, as they should.
>>8785973>>8785950>plausible deniability retodds
>>8785976>>8785977Guys, I'm obviously agreeing with you. All the good is Todd, but all the bad is obviously all on Todd too. Right guys? Ya you're smart guys too, so you guys know.
>>8785973You forgot to mention he delivers the products to our doorsteps, every each and single one of them
>>8782649well, id hope it isnt like the KS Spawn, but i hold no hope for that.
>>8785986Is that why nobody in North America has got their kick-starter spawn yet? Ham it up all you want, but the buck stops at the top of the company.
>>8786015No, that's cause Todd is stuck in the port. After multiplying himself he's spread a little thin, and a few of them are just lined up, while the others are still at sea in their boats, waiting for space to open up. The Todds that came up to Canada shouldn't have many delays though, so Canadians should expect their KS Spawns soon.
>>8786023Good, then I can personally kick him in the nuts when he arrives at my door.
STOP BULLYING PAPA TODD!!!!
>>8786015He also paid off the People's Choice toy association
Papa Todd's got some news planned.
>>8787122I'm sure it won't be totally fucking stupid and egocentric
>>8787122Spawn is now a tranny you heard it here first
Do you guys think Todd will make toys from the new MK movie? >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J983DiVbZ9k
>>8788376Nah. Todd won't even know it exists
>>8788384It's already been posted about by official McFarlane social media. And if nothing else, it seems like Todd and team have pretty good relationships going with lots of their license holders, WB especially, so I'm sure he's had details and costume designs from the movie for some time now. >>8788376I think we'll see at least Scorpion and Sub-Zero, then maybe one more wave, then they'll go by sales at that point.
Saw this at a used book store for $30. Worth it?
I wish they'd make a good superman figure already. The action 1000, was so close, but the head has limited articulation and supes has single jointed elbows. Why did he make infected superman have better joints? Why the fuck did he base AzBats off some shit design and not his debut appearance?
>>8787122So is it today at 5pm or tomorrow?
>>8787839>totally fucking stupid and egocentricHey! that how I'll call my autobiography! Todd McFarlane
>>8788614>Why did he make infected superman have better joints? Would you rather the line not improve as time goes on?>Why the fuck did he base AzBats off some shit design and not his debut appearance? They made a subset of figures based on White Knight, of which this Azrael (both designs) was a part of. When/if they make Knightfall figures, then you'll get the figure you want.
>>8788653tomorrow of tomorrow
https://www.instagram.com/tv/CLcrbLMhW_5/?src=swipe_upHere's the news. 3 new #1s for the comics. Also shows off a couple closeups of Gunslinger and Redeemer.
Is there a list of McFarlane releases? Looking to see the more recent stuff they've been putting out
>>8788730I don't think so, but the currently main ongoing lines are DC, Mortal Kombat, My Hero Academia, Witcher, and Warhammer. You can check their website, they have everything on there, as well as a DC checklist, though it's no longer complete.
New Redeemer is looking good.
>>8788828Fuck. Might keep one of the Kickstarter Spawns I ordered for when this guy comes out.
>>8788828Note the textures particularly in the midsection and inner arms and legs, these were 3D printed. I'm thinking this will be like a Mandarin Spawn situation, where when we first saw him he had minimal paints, and while some say he doesn't have enough now, he certainly has a lot more than when he was first shown in color. I'd expect at least better gold? And perhaps some paint on at least the textured parts of the armor.
>>8788828Is this it?His "big" announcement?
>>8788952Nvm, it was just abunch of comics being announced.
>>8788952The big announcement was mentioned here >>8788728. Basically 3 new ongoing Spawn titles starting this summer. In terms of comics, that's a pretty big announcement. And also here's a closeup of Gunslinger. Wouldn't be surprised if we round out this "The Scorched" team (at least the first iteration of it), meaning also regular Spawn, Medieval Spawn, and She-Spawn.
>>8789018Gee whiz I hope that dumb hat is removable.
>Gunslinger appears to have a lever actionFuck, now I'm going to have to get him.
>>8789026Why does his torso and hips look so smooth and feminine?
>>8789029You can see his hips? You mean the ounce of black you can see under the bandolier belts? Either way, I guess they're just choosing for him to be more lanky rather than built like the main Spawn. Nothing wrong with differing silhouettes, especially when the general design is similar.
>>8789038Well yeah, the top of his hips. I zoomed in and cranked up the contrast and it definitely looks feminine and kinda curved to me.
>>8789021He'll have a hatless variant.
>>8789312Oh, you mean the obliques? Well, same thing, he's just a thinner and more lanky guy rather than the more usually built superhero build. Here's a random statue of a guy with a similar build.
>>8789312We've seen every other variant, Femboy Spawn when?
>>8789350>Every other variantYou mean colors?
>>8789405He means the different kinds of Spawns, like Ninja, Manga, Gunslinger, Medieval, etc. Kinda surprised there isn't a Kid Spawn, actually.
>>8788693well. single joint A1000 superman isnt a step forward though, didnt the fortnite figures have double jointed elbows? so McFarlane couldve made superman with double joints but chose not to. yea i understand that, maybe i shouldnt ask why, and i should say, i wish he hadnt made AzBats from white knight and went with the original Azbats design. And he doesnt need to make a "knightfall" line to do it, he could have Azbats be a one off, like how cyborg was the only toon TT figure, but i dont have high hopes thatll happen
>>8789465Yes, in the early waves they had some of the figures with thicker arms be single jointed, and that's something that they've mostly moved away from (single joints on the BAF figures and Devastator are fully reasonable, I'd say), but I was specifically talking about from AC1000 to Infected. When another new Superman is made, it'll more than likely also have double elbows (upcoming Death Metal Superman's non infected arm is double jointed). And you're right, there doesn't need to be a Knightfall assortment to get an Azrael, but, like Death of Superman (Doomsday, the Superman variants, the black and silver Superman), it's very iconic and features A-list characters (Bane, Catwoman, Batman himself, etc) that feel like they have a high chance of being made, so an assortment feels like it makes sense, and a good excuse to get a specific group of figures out.
>>8789018so we could get a 'classic' Spawn the kickstarter should have been
>>8788728Serious question, is he retarded or has had multiple strokes or what
>>8789798Can't be a serious question, given that how he was in that video wouldn't even remotely indicate any of those things.
>>8781638a thousand years milking spawn shit.fuck this guy, wish he made something new. it ain't the nineties anymore, there's no more time for klax
>>8789855Spawn's been around since '92. Superman and Batman have been around since '38. Spawn is Todd's most notable and biggest character, I think he's allowed to focus on him and his cast. And if you don't like Spawn you probably wouldn't like whatever else Todd could come up with.
>>8789855>fuck todd mcfarlane >wish he'd make new content actual retard posting
>>8788828He looks gay. lmao
>>8789798That just happens to your brain when you've lived in Phoenix long enough.
>>8788728I give those books less than year. The comic industry is on life support and comic shops pretty much got wiped out by the coof
>>8789988>The comic industry is on life support true>and comic shops pretty much got wiped out by the cooffalse
>>8789855Its been years, maybe even close to a decade since there's really been any good Spawn figures. Maybe closer to 15 years.
>>8789798>is he retardedOh yeah. Egotostical and retarded.
>>8789798Personally I think he might have autism but no one knows for sure and I don't think he's ever talked about it or any other health issues
>>8790859Maybe, but he is, and has always been eccentric as fuck, so that could be part of it.
>>8790865He seemed very reserved when he was younger from what I've seen. Passionate, but mostly quiet. I think that's just what this is, passion, but he doesn't care about how he looks to other people anymore, so it's just unfiltered and without reservation, so which comes off to some as loud and eccentric.
>>8790883What? He was always one of the guys who wanted to do things is own way, regardless of if people agreed with him or not. He took huge chances to leave the big two and form Image with the other guys, when he was pretty much at the top of his game on Spider-Man and people told him it was a bad idea. Then, he was a guy who knew almost nothing about toys, and took a bunch of chances to form his own toyline when people told him it would fail, and defied other, larger toy companies and manufacturers. And if we really want to talk about diversity, Spawn was a comic largely filled with African American characters, was something not many (if any) people were doing, and everyone told him it wasn't a good idea.He was a guy who got told a lot that his style sucked, and his characters and toys sucked, and he just laughed and continued to do weird shit in order to do things his own way.He could have played it safe, and been conservative and still had a pretty illustrious career, but he's know mostly for how he did everything differently and defied his nay-sayers.
>>8790905Oh ya, all of that. I just meant when he spoke publicly or in interviews. One that comes to mind is the one with Stan Lee. He spoke mostly softly, and when Stan was throwing jabs (probably just for fun, I doubt he meant any harm) Todd just rolled with the punches, basically ignored what he said and kept talking about what he was talking about. Like you said, he sticks firmly to his guns and doesn't let others tell him how to do things. Kind of reminds me of Vince McMahon actually, and likely has the same shortcomings. Both visionaries, but perhaps not always willing to listen to others when they should. Would rather make a dime their way than a dollar someone else's way.
>>8790905he's extremely based and I think most of the hate comes from insecure dweebs
When are the preorders for yeehaw spawn expected to drop?
I always made fun of McFarlane in the 90s because of how fucking edgy he came offbut now he just comes off like a fun, excitable old man. His figure livestreams are /comfy/
>>8791168It and Redeemer haven't even been officially announced. I assume Todd and co will have some announcements soon, and we'll probably hear about when we can preorder things at that point. I'm going to guess preorders up MarchApril, and release in late Summer to coincide with the new monthly titles.
>>8789484Red son superman came after infected supes and was single jointed, and if DM superman is doble then the only pattern i see here is, single joint superman, then double, back to single and on to double. If we go by that pattern, looks like the next superman after DMsupes is gonna be single jointed. I really hope not.
>>8788597>okay thanks anons, good info! Here, fixed it. Now answer me
>>8792120DM Supes is actually single jointed on his infected arm and double jointed on his regular arm, so he breaks the pattern. Next one up determines the future of all Supermen. No idea why the smaller characters like Robin have single jointed knees and elbows though.>>8792140Would you like to have that in your collection? If so, do you think it's worth 30 dollars? I'm not sure what it's actually worth (I'm sure you could find it on ebay after a minute or less), so if you mean in pure value, I'm not sure, and I can't answer for you because I don't know your tastes. If you want a personal opinion, it's neat, but I don't collect statues, so I wouldn't be interested.
>>8792140I've been looking at the Tortured Souls stuff a lot lately and have a strict no more than $20 limit on them. Half Price Books always on some shit with their pricing. It's always either a great deal or shenanigans.
Still waitin' on some Raw10 stuff, Todd.
>>8792248It was a one time thing at a walmart.
>>8792254>its nowhere to be found anywhere on the McFarlane websiteWell fuck.
>>8791175Too bad he's ruined the DC license and is struggling to make good Spawn figures
>>8792254>RAW10>only 4 released
>>8792248There's that Dragon that was teased a while ago that might be Raw10.
>>8790104 Out of the 4 in my area, only 1 managed to stay afloat and it's only because the guy had huge cash reserves
>>8792254I hope this isn't true. The Raw10 line has so much potential.
this guy has been going up in price lately and is becoming rarer to find
>>8792668Yeah, the potential to pegwarm.
>>8792788Aren't they sold out at most walmarts?
>>8792790Hahahahaha, what? Fuck no.
>>8792820Okay anon, thanks. Have a nice day! :)
>>8792786I have no real interest in MK, but I really do like the new 'purple winter' variant of Sub-Zero.
>>8792906Looks kind of cybernetic? I hope this is part of the line with more to be announced.
>>8792906Can't think of much else this could be, unless he's reviving McFarlane's Dragons.
Are we ever going to get more TES stuff?
>>8793217Elder Scrolls? No way to know for sure, but we haven't really seen much from that Toy Fair in general. What made it out was MK, some Doom, Alduin, then nothing else. Given Doom is seemingly still around, the Bethesda side of things is at least alive, though it's possible Elder Scrolls and Fallout were dropped. It's also possible that they're waiting for new content before making products for them.
>>8793226why? There are plenty of things to make from Skyrim alone.
>>8793255I'm speaking in hypotheticals, I've no idea what's going on over at McFarlane, but it's possible that they (and maybe even Bethesda) think that the games may be too far out of people's minds, and want the push of a new game to sell new products. There are of course lots of things to make from Skyrim, also Oblivion, also Fallout, but that doesn't mean that McFarlane or Bethesda think it's time to launch a these things when there's nothing really going on with the franchises at the moment. Or like I said maybe the deal for those games fell through.
>>8792786Don't know why, of all the MK figures, he and scorpion are probably the worst. At any rate, Mcfarlane is just shitting out recolors of him.
>>8792786>Normal Doom Slayer is up to $160 on AmazonFuckinggggg why?
>>8788828>Redeemerlost all his edge
>>8794051Wouldn't even pay $10 for that sub-par toy.
>>8794051Because you're looking at an old out of production toy being sold by third party sellers on a website where they always price everything high? Where were you a year ago?
>>8792786Is it because of the new movie? I bet they'll release them.
>>8794061A lot of those old guys from the 90s have been redesigned because they've shown back up in the recent comics. That's why characters like Redeemer, Gunslinger Spawn, Ninja Spawn, etc. have been pushed so hard lately.
>>8794061This is still a great sculpt. If Todd just went back and added modern joints to his old back catalogue of sculpts (of course with some minor touch-up work to correct pre-posed sculpts), I would rebuy the whole dang line again.Of course, it'll never happen though, even if it were feasible it's not what Todd wants.
>>8794051It's not even a good figure. That's the sad thing.
>>8794868I guess it's just the only option? If the Doom line continues I'm betting we get a new Slayer before too long.
>>8794051>>8794868>>8794890Because Gamers don't buy toys, they buy funko pops and the director for Doom put funko in the game instead of regular action figures its what you deserve.
>>8794892>the director for Doom put funko in the gameThey're generic vinyl toys that don't even look like Pops
>>8794892Between the price of Doom Slayer, and the first Scorpion and Sub-Zero, which are all mediocre to decent efforts at best (when later figures have been much better), it almost feels like gamers do want figures, it's just that they're either unaware of them or ignored them the first time around, then get desperate for them when they're hard to find.
>>8794953Silly anon, gamers do not buy toys they pirate and steal their media. >>8794952He is a vinyl fag ie pop collector.
>>8794953Aren't there already much, much, MUCH better Storm Collectibles figures of the MK characters?
>>8794953stop replying to stale bait, just report and hide>>8794962Yes, and scalped to hell and back. Which is a shame because they're really cool looking.
>>8794970that particular post was probably bait but it's not a new thing for people to say. though the MK figures being stocked in the video game section of Target and not the collector section next to it seems to keep them moving pretty well.
>>8794970Why are you telling others what to do? Its against the rules.
In what world do gamers buy toys? They complain about woke politics in gaming and too many women not in the kitchen, white sexist incel chubs the lot of them.
>>8794993Most of the gamers who buy toys are gape-mouthed male feminist soi boys who buy pops, so you're wrong.
>>8795020Explains why hollow knight fans prefer funko pops instead of action figures.
>>8790104Absolutely none of ours folded.
>>8789900I have in laws that live in the Phoenix area. Can confirm.
>>8795027Why are you such a bitter crybaby?
So I guess Doom is done then? Todd's put out a minion Batman since Marauder recolor that no one wanted, and now he's got his line plus the MK stuff.
>>8797156Not necessarily. The volume of products doesn't suddenly mean older lines stop. It's entirely possible that they thought the line would end at Marauder, but perhaps he exceeded expectations, getting them to release that gold one as kind of a bonus release while they're making new molds (because new figures/molds take a long time if you're not making them ahead of time). So basically we don't know what's going on. There's also Princess Bride, Avatar (Last Airbender + Korra), and now Disney Mirrorverse, among others coming, so I don't think volume of products and franchises is the issue (perhaps number of employees is, and they need to do some hiring).
>>8797343Ciri is on the way, so we're at least getting her. If the line continues to do well the other 2 girls are definitely on the way.
>>8797343Hahahha epic! O:
>>8797343is that more Witcher stuff? Never played but those look like cool designs.
>tfw no elf terrorist iorveth figure
>>8794061This is the version I was hoping to be remade. Silly me.
>>8797634We have a 'good' Redeemer now, but no one says there isn't room for a 'bad' one. If there's a new villain Redeemer showing up I bet he has something similar to the old design. If there can be as many Spawns as there are, there can be more Redeemers.
>>8797343I think about better toylines.
>>8797156Hope so. It was going nowhere fast.
>>8797923How do you figure?
>>8797926>i hope this line is done because they weren't making enoughWhat
>>8797926Nowhere fast? Doom is filled to the brim with dope looking demons/robot demons, Todd's bread and butter. But I guess he's busy making more batmen.
>>8798318He meant that the line is going nowhere fast. Not wrong, mostly repaints, then Marauder. We don't know the sales data, or the deals behind the scenes, but it seemed like it was doing well to warrant 4 repaints and a new mold and a repaint for it. As was said earlier in the thread, toy development takes a long time if nothing was prepared ahead of time, so it's possible that more could be coming, or could be that none is. It hasn't even been that long, desu, it hasn't even been a year since Marauder showed up, then waiting for sales data, then possibly starting on new products, which takes usually around a year at the earliest.
>>8789693If only we could get a figure of heil spawn
>>8794085Probably. I wonder if they'll be releasing any figs based on the new movie.
>>8792846Purple Winter is alright but I'd rather them just release Rain.Saibot looks alright and I might pick him up.
>>8798439doubt it, unless they change the script todd made. Spawn in this movie is supposed to be almost entirely like fog and sounds on corners and backgrounds, its supposed to be more like a cop movie with sam and twich. twitch being the protagonist. sam and twich figures maybe?
>>8798450I was talking about the MK movie. As for the Spawn movie, I'm sure there will be some design, most likely similar to the cryptic stuff jason shawn alexander draws.I know the guy who did the costume on the first movie was involved at some point, but seeing as the project is in development hell, I don't know what the end result will be.And yeah, I've read the scrip, but until there's even a trailer we can't know for sure what the final film will look like.
>>8798453oh, sorry then, but yeah i think it's most likely we'll get MK figures from the movie, i'll pass on them tho i liked mortal kombat for the 90's asthetic not the modern stuff
>>8788746>nearly half are batmen
>>8798506The Spinmasters line is like that too. Though they seem to be leaning on it more for year two while McFarlane is expanding
>>8798445I really wish Todd would do a classic skin for the ninjas. I'm like Noob, he's probably one of my favorites, but I'm not a huge fan of the MK11 design (at least the head gear). What I'd really like him to do is release a Kabal with human skin, and nightwolf.
Where the fuck is my Shao Kahn TODD!?
>>8799704Todd's in the truck now driving the Shao Kahns to the distributors. He says he hopes to get yours to you soon.
still needs more paint but looks better than the blue one
>>8798554SM at least has a line for DC universe characters and we have most of the JL done
>>8799820I hate how much bare black plastic there is.
>>8799820Yeah, this still looks simplistic and kinda bad compared to the original Mandarin Spawn, but at least it doesn't look straight-up unfinished like the blue one did.
>>8799820Probably will just skip considering the articulation sucks.
>>8799820I'm not sure what you guys are expecting in terms of paint. Why would you expect it to be painted head to toe? Outside of the black plastic on the body and (if it's like the blue one) the red plastic on the skirt, and some of the gold. If it's anything like the Gold Label one, it'll have a drybrushing throughout most of the body (and gold parts particularly). Otherwise nearly everything is painted.
>>8799948I know the toy industry and associated labor costs have changed. But Mandarin Spawn in particular has the unfortunate fate of being compared to the old version, which had extremely complex paint apps. There's no real way around it, when you make a 2.0 of something people are inevitably going to put it next to the 1.0. And well, I'll say it's a valiant effort, but some nowhere near the complexity of the old one.To be real though, a lot of the issues would be helped with a simple wash. Like that shoulder pauldron mask on the blue one, it looks so bland without a wash to make the details pop. Todd used to be the king of washes, I wonder why he stopped.
>>8799817Good, he better hand deliver it to me myself, that bitch. But seriously, when is it supposed to come out? When I pre-order him, it said February 18.
>>8799820Doesn't look too bad. Definitely a downgrade compared to the original, tho. What's the articulation like? Standard McFarlane, or what?
>>8799980That's fair, and for those masks like on his forearms and shoulder, I just assumed they were meant to be more of a porcelain quality. I do think a wash would have been nice, but as you can see in that pic there is quite a bit of drybrushing. It really is incredible how much paint the original had.>>8799989I'm seeing March 1st on some times, so I'd have to imagine it's even sooner in the US. Perhaps you were unlucky and are getting whatever second shipment comes out, rather than the first batch, as they seem to be appearing at Target. >>8799997It's a bit worse overall. Mostly the same, but single elbows that function like the wrists and ankles normally do, getting about exactly 90 degrees. Head can't move much because of all the sculpted detail back there. Shoulders move surprisingly well despite all the material there, but obviously less than a figure with no shoulder detail. The hips don't function quite as well as one would hope due to the skirt (they're also ball joints with an inner swiveling part). And finally the ankles are molded into the leg, so it can swivel up and down and rock, but movement is a bit limited due to the shape of it all. I didn't like him straight out of the box (talking about the Gold Label one) but I've grown to like it a bit more as I accepted its limitations. At least the torso moves better than most of the recent figures that seem to have the forward motion completely blocked off.
>>8799820McFarlane really has dropped in quality.
>>8799980>the wrist joints have faces on themthat's a pretty cool detail
>>8800201They're on the elbows too.
>>8800053Not really, just depends on what you're looking for. Everyone complained about the lack of articulation on the old stuff, now you get way more articulation and way less paint. More parts, more molds, more plastic, more cost, less paint. I'm not sure any major line adequately paints their figures these days really.
>>8799820Really, I think it could have used, at minimum, some more red paint detailing on the gold parts, and maybe some gold detailing to break up some of the solid black parts and it would have looked a ton better. But at the same time, I don't think it looks too bad. Way better than the blue one, and still probably twice as much paint as most other $20 figures.
>>8800201Yeah, it's a pretty cool way to update the faces on the wrists of the old one. I don't know if I've ever seen anyone else do sculpted joints before.
Other than a brief mention there hasn't been much talk about Disney Mirrorverse, but it also may not be widely known. Based on recent leaked listings (that came along side Demon Knight, King Shazam, and the rest) we got the following listings.-Belle (5")-Goofy (5")-Mickey Mouse (5")-Sulley (5")-Buzz Lightyear (7")-Jack Sparrow (7")-Sulley (12")Here's a screen from the game, to give you an idea of how the characters look.
>>8801168no maleficent no care
this is the best violator ever
>>8801168>Buzz Lightyear 40k
>>8800278In other words, Todd fucked it all up.
>>8801168What happened to Jack Sparrow's fappin arm?
>>8802490His left arm is fine, it's his right that's all goopy. Probably something to do with a curse and Davy Jones.
>>8801396>best statue ever*fixed
>>8802621I wouldn't go as far as saying that. Michelangelo's David is up there.
>>8799820That looks so bad though. Even the gold looks cheap. There's just nothing enticing about what they've done here.
>>8803327I think it looks good. It'll probably also look better in person, as most figures do.
>>8802481wow something you'd say if everything still had 5poa what a great post anon good job
Are these any good in terms of durability? How do they compare with the current quality and engineering of Hasbro's Black Series?
>>8803870Watch a review, you'll get the idea. If you're talking specifically about the Marine there, articulation is pretty good, but as you can imagine the sculpt will get in the way, but not as much as you might think. Durability is solid, no issues on mine, and I don't think I've heard of any issues for others. Especially notable because these guys are commonly taken apart for ease of customizing.
>>8803382I get it, you fall in love for Papa Todd, now move on.
>>8804595Nope, general release.
>>8799980All this nigga need is a wash and he's just as good wtf todd
>>8804803That looks about a million times better, NGL.
>>8804803Damn this is a big improvement. Now if someone with a steady hand just went in and picked out a few choice details (like the rims around the eyes, the "piping" on the shoulder pauldron and gauntlets, etc.) this would become a great looking toy.
>>8801396I forgot he had shitty rubber elbows. That really ruins him.
>>8804803you just darkened the image. Not a wash. You can tell that they already have a wash on it because you darkened it.... or is that just shadow? Stuff like the highlights on the right shoulder stand out more.
