New Fwooshcast is up with NECA's TMNT Brand Manager Trevor Zammit:

https://youtu.be/UqOIq2Uc-3I

Of note:
-"The van's sculpted" - will be loaded up, has lights and sounds, will be a direct market deal (NECAstore)
-Mirage TMNT will be taking the place of Turtles in Time while that rests for a bit. Specialty market like TiT.
-Muck Man and Mondo may no longer be a 2-pack because they won't cost out. Will likely be split up as two separate releases
-The Disguise TMNT 4-pack should have new ankle articulation (hopefully rockers). The heads ARE the new 18" swappable style!
-Archie comics aren't part of the Nickelodeon TMNT deal they have, but they want to pursue it if they can.
-TMNT sales keep going up and up. They're reordering as much as they can, the normal expectation of "only the main four heroes will sell" at retail has been blown out of the water
-still trying with Tatsu's actor, covid making it hard
-Punk Frogs come with two heads each
-Ace Duck packed with new unnamed villain
-Wanting to do the lair, but the cartoon inconsistency is making it difficult to plan out

Second email that went out concerning recent pre-orders & Tokka & Rahzar shipping:

>Hello,

>Thank you for your pre-order of one of our TMNT sets. We wanted to update you with our current status before the New Year.

>Currently we are shipping out the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze - Tokka & Rahzar 2 Pack in waves, but other packs including the Metalhead, Casey & Raphael 2-Pack, & Super Shredder will be immediately following over the next few weeks. At this time, we do not know when any individual order will be shipped, but that all the orders will be shipped soon and we are confident that all the orders should be shipped between mid-January and February.

>As you have heard in the media, there are currently shipping delays across the country. This is having an affect on both when we receive your items and when they are being picked up from our DC for transport to you. Due to the size of these shipments and the holidays, we are experiencing some delay in getting the waves shipped out and we are currently working on ways to mitigate this delay. Please be patient while your orders are in transit.

>You will receive an e-mail notification with tracking when your order ships.

>Please note that the follow pre-orders will not part of these waves of shipments and should be shipping at the following times:

>Slash & Leatherhead 2-Pack - February 2021
TMNT 1990 Accessory Set - Q1 2021
>Cartoon Diorama - Q1 2021
>Rocksteady and Bebop 2-Pack - Q2 2021

>Thank you for your patience,

I legit wonder how much of this is due to scalping. If these were as readily available as literally any other NECA product I feel like this wouldn’t be the case.

I don't really know how to answer that. I mean, even if you took away the scalpers, the line's in demand enough that that product would still sell, right?

And just a reminder that starting with the Krang and Splinter/Baxter sets Target is handling the TMNT product directly. The reps aren't to put the stuff out themselves, Target will get the product, and their electronic guys are meant to stock it. That means the product is in their inventory now and WILL come up using the DPCIs (at least in store).

Are any of you planning on getting the aged Faun? I have all other del Toro figs, including the man himself, so I'm tempted to be a bit of a completionist with these.
>>
My New Years resolution is to never buy another non durable neca product

I have the regular Faun, and I feel like that's enough. The aged one looks cool though, and if I liked the movie more, yeah, I could see needing it.

Also a GdT fan and completionist but nah. The differences were too minor for me to double dip, if I rotated my display to feature the other one I dont think I’d even notice

The old one sold out in a lot of places so I think it’s more of a “rerelease with slight differences” thing, not something you’re supposed to buy again. But more power to anyone who does it I guess, GdT rules

When this question comes, I recommend you ask yourself: Do you like Jason being a living being, or a supernatural zombie slasher?

If you want him to be alive, Part 3 or 4 are good choices. I prefer 4. If you like imposter Jason, part 5 is a great figure too, but if you like zombie Jason, wait for the part 7 figure that's coming out. Cause, it looks pretty incredible.
>>
>>8666780
Fantastic response, thank you! I think I'll go with part 4 Jason if you recommend it over part 3
>>
So none of my Targets are getting more Krangs. What are the chances he goes up on NECAs store like Metalhead? I'm willing to pay a stupid shipping costs.

If they do more orders (and I'm sure they will), then Krang's 100% a shoe-in. Metalhead got a chance, no way Krang won't, too. I'm curious if Target will get more restocks since they're handling the product now. Curiouser and curiouser.

Also people are getting shipping notices for their Raph and Casey 2-packs.

part 3 and 4 are about on par, but I lean towards 4.
But to be honest they're kind of outdated since the sculpts are just reused sculpts of Jasons from like 2012.

They're not bad by any means but I don't think they even hold a candle to the Part V Roy.
>>
so any chance on this guy coming out?

Part 5 Roy. Not really Jason, but by far their highest quality F13th ultimate. Double jointed elbows, face printing, and accessories that represent every kill in the movie. No other ultimate Jason can even touch Roy. All other ultimates feel outdated in comparison.

The Part 7 coming out looks like he might top Roy though, he's got the double jointed elbows, way more detail to his design and a bunch of accessories. Definitely my most anticipated figure at the moment.

I can't decide my favorite F13th movie though. Sometimes I'm in the mood to play it safe with part 4, sometimes I'm feeling contrarian and am defending Goes to Hell.

I'm actually hoping Part 7 will be the definitive figure of Jason. Part 7 is where I was introduced. I hope NECA does all of them after Part 7, including some of the comic adaptations. That's a bold move, defending Goes To Hell. However, the bravest of fans mention Freddy Vs. Jason in front of Kane Hodder at a con.
>>
>>8667660
Fuck....i wish I'd grabbed this set
>>
>>8673197
I respect Kane Hodder and all but the obsession with him being the one and only Jason always seemed stupid to me. He's Jason 7 movies in and for some of the least liked and most out there movies in the franchise. Its not like hm not being Jason in 1-6 severely detracts from those movies.
>>
>>8667283
Personally I like Jason being undead(but not a zombie) being his niche

Leatherface is an inbred hick
Michael is human but has odds stacked in his favor
Freddy is straight up supernatural
Pinhead is above even that
>>
>>8672891
Me too, and it's been a long time since we've had a big creature like the Alien Queen. Although Edgar is smaller.

>>8672270
The three other films are bad.
2 or 3 aliens from the first movie could be enough + a rotten Edgar's costume. Vincent D'Onofrio's likeness shouldn't be very expensive.

>>8672699
For the first film, Galoob had done some pretty ugly action figures. I had the Mickey and a friend had Edgar who was pretty cool.
Hasbro took care of MIB II and III with some insipid figures.

>That's a bold move, defending Goes To Hell

I get why it puts people off, but I feel like after having 8 movies that abide by the same formula, it's okay to take the F13th mythos and do something fucking wild with it. I love when films take crazy asks risks. I know risk doesn't mean it's good, but I feel like it paid off.
It said goodbye to the usual formula, while also acknowledging it. And it by far as the best/most memorable/likeable cast human characters which is rare for the series. And we got a cool supernatural story, even if it's such a huge departure from the Jason we're used to. I know people didn't like that you barely see Jason, but when he emerges at the end in his own body it felt like an earned boss fight in my opinion.

Goes to Hell also had a great look for Jason. Goes to Hell and Uber Jason are the top 2 ultimate Jason's I want the most.

>>
>>8673219
I think it has to do with him giving the character a personality through mannerisms and movement that is wholesomely unique to Jason. Jason, Leatherface, and Myers share similarities in that regard but there are differences.
>>8673592
I fond memories of this movie and the toys as a kid, the first film, in particular, deserves some decent figures. There's a lot of 90s films that are due for an upgrade or just figures in general. They're up NECA's alley. MiB, Fifth Element, Fight Club, Small Soldiers, The Matrix, The Mask, and Mars Attacks!
>>8674331
I think Part 8, even Part 6 opened that door. Part 6 is very self-aware and turns Jason into a hulking, undead killing machine. Part 7 introduces another supernatural element, Part 8 takes it to a completely different setting.
>>
>>8675257
Why did they make Kane look like an old asian man? And Ash looks like a pissed off Donald Pleasence

idk I much prefer the cast of part 6, I don't think any of the later films topped it and I'm still salty the plot thread teased at the end was never followed up and instead we got Carrie vs Jason which is a fine film but it felt like Friday the 13th was actually going somewhere.

Sorry I'm a retard and my memory is shit, the scene was actually an alternate ending that was never shot (I don't know why I thought it was).
Anyway the scene is question has a mystery man pay off the grave keeper from the film to keep Jason and Palama's grave in good condition (also somewhat explaining why he even has one in he first place as V stated he was cremated) and it's revealed to me Elias Vorhees, Jason's father who may have supernatural powers.
Here is the scene in question https://youtu.be/bUvTqSb2jw8

The design of the creature has an interesting background as well. The animatronic (pic-related) was changed in shooting in favor of a more humanized CGI creature. They also kept the animatronic design for toys and the PC/PS1 video game.

I had to heat his ankle and elbows since the joints were stuck from being caked in white paint. His hip joints were WAY too tight, they're normal ball joints but they felt like tight ratchet joints so I put some dish soap on them. They're still tight but they don't feel like they'll break anymore.

Kane and Ash both have a right leg SLIGHTLY long than the left just like 90% of my NECA figures so and it's getting really annoying how their figures cannot get legs that are equal in height. Usually it's not the worst thing ever because I just pose my figures in a contrapposto stance, but with characters like Ash being an android I want him standing straight up. Same with characters like Jason and Michael Myers. It's just really annoying this is a consistent issue.

But overall, paint is great, the face printing is great too. I like the figures. Good figures, not perfect but good.

Love that they sculpted the rip in his pants leg. Lots of nice texture on the clothing on this figure.

Hands swap easy, had to use heat to pop the gawking head on, which is whatever. It swaps fine now. The goggles slip on under the face when you have it popped off. You just have to gently get the strap around the ears into the groove and around the sculpt of the back of the head under the hair. I used a toothpick to help push it along.

Hello there, anon who is on the fence about NECA and came to this thread looking to see if you should take the plunge:

Don't.

Seriously, don't do it. NECA has the worst quality control I have ever seen in a high end figure toy company. What is high end? Well, it means that it's a toy that is typically more expensive that standard companies that produce similar products. For example, NECA would be comparable to say, Hasbro. They both make figures that are similar in scale, with similar qualities in sculpt. However, NECA has far superior sculpting, but on the downside, the articulation takes a hit , and the QC is garbage. Oh, and they charge about $10 more than their equivalent, on average. They aren't the MOST expensive high end toy company, but they ARE the biggest waste of your money.

Now, don't let their product description fool you. Some NECA products will boast they have up to 30 points of articulation, possibly more. That's a lie. The figures are nowhere near that articulate. Oh sure, they POTENTIALLY have that much articulation, but good luck utilizing all of it, since there will be things on the figure (like armor or clothing pieces) that will get in the way. So yeah, most of your NECA figures are gonna either be standing stalk-still, like scarecrows, or with their knees slightly bent.

So what's all this about NECA's QC? Is it a meme? Is it blown out of proportion? No, it isn't . Even NECA's fucking supporters have recommended using a hairy dryer on certain NECA figures before trying to pose them. What other fucking toy line have you EVER had to do that with?

And why do they recommend that? Well, it's because the joints are so tight, that if you try to move it at all, to change the pose, your figure will likely break. And NECA supporters have a few excuses for this, like "Dude, just blowdry your figures for a few seconds, lol" or "You OBVIOUSLY hamhanded your toy"

These are just delusional excuses. The product is shit.
>>
>>8701822

not the best bait, but i'll give some credit for effort and punctuation

>boast they have up to 30 points of articulation, possibly more. That's a lie. The figures are nowhere near that articulate. Oh sure, they POTENTIALLY have that much articulation, but good luck utilizing all of it

this part could definitely use some work though. "they say it has this much, but that's a lie, well actually they do have that much but you can't use it well". you should really focus on the fact that they don't have good articulation, rather than the total points of articulation

>boast they have up to 30 points of articulation, possibly more. However, the majority of this articulation has an inferior range of motion rendering it useless, etc.

keep trying though, you'll get there one day :)
>>
>>8685126
Show us the QC issues. I won't hold my breath because, after having had to wait as long as you did for them, you likely can't stand to admit their faults, let alone share them with others. And you know that I'm right.
