>Pokémon Center finally ships to Canada>the products available are less than half of the American siteWhatever, beggars can’t be choosers I guess. I ordered Dragapult and g-max Meowth little over a week ago but they still haven’t been shipped out.
>>8581600It's the second second edition.
I made a gondola a while ago, he is kind of awkward and wonky, but I love him.
>>8582031Wonky gondolas are best gondolas
>>8581848I'm a burger and they still haven't shipped out the stuff I ordered 10 days ago. Huge backlog from all the tcg released recently.
>>8583088Phew, glad to hear it’s not just me then.
I got a cute little rat art doll at a discount recently. I love the little guy.
>>8586105I love this rat child. I like their grippy hands!
Got my first plush as a gift (pic). Feels super good to have something to hug. Now I want to get more.
>>8587491I know it's my morbid sense of humor, but plushes in that flat pose always make me think of pic related
I can sew a bit, and I've put together some small projects, but does anyone here have recommendations on what sort of fabrics to use for making your own plushes?
>>8587491That's super cute>>8587849That's excellent, reminds me of a shirt I had as a kid.>>8588724What kind of plushies do you want to make? Fleece is cheap, easy to find, and very beginner friendly. Minky is popular among plush artists, but a bit harder to work with.
I can't wait for some snow for photos with Keys. I love this little guy like you wouldn't believe
>>8581589Did you create this? What is it? It seems familiar for some reason
>>8589493Another anon made the logo for the general based off of the beanie baby logo
>>8589763No, the plush itself
Kimba and Liyah my loves, why are you 600 dollars.
>>8589807$99 I can better understand because of just how old the character and probably this plush are, and it's only him too. But $99 is still very far out of my price range.Still a very cute boy for the thread.
>>8589807>>8589811Is this the same one? If so it’s like 50$ on Mercari Japan along with different versions that are cheaper.https://www.mercari.com/jp/items/m22391222885/
>>8589856Right now I'm mostly dreaming since I gotta save up money for other stuff that's a bit more pressing but I've been keeping an eye out for stuff I can nab in the future. That is the same one yep! I never heard of Mercari, I'll keep that place in mind thank you.
Kommandostore just dropped a Gondola plush for anyone interested.https://kommandostore.com/
bump
Are we allowed to post Christmas and holiday plushies or is it too early? :3
>>8588935Awesome pic, I'm looking forward too!>>8595475I'd say it's the ideal time.>>8589493>>8589799You might want to ask >>8588935
Anyone got tips for creating the plush with the pop armature and sculpted head/feet? I’m planning to make one as a gift, got all the supplies I think I need (armature and joints, batting, sculpey, fur, resin eyes) but wondering if there’s some useful advice out there.
I decided not buy anything for a while. Please buy Rapthalia-chan and post pics of her in her new home.https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1153297352&ref=list&keyword=shield%20hero&lang=en
>>8597056I don't make plushies with sculpted heads/paws, but I do make them with polymer clay horns/claws/eyes/ect. I might be able to give you a little advice. What type of Sculpey are you using?
>>8597056Just go on YouTube and look up art doll tutorial there are a ton on there.
>>8597876Uhhh not actually sure which kind exactly. It’s a large brick so I removed the wrapper and put it in a bag a while ago when I was making some tiny food. I know it’s one of the really basic ones sold in large packs though, and I have the softener liquid as well. Thinking if I decide to keep making these I’ll try casting in resin but don’t have the space or money for mold making right now.
Just got my Lapras plush in the mail. This line is really nice and it’s great that they made a plush for all gen 1 and gen 2 Pokémon. I’m mulling over Krabby and Slowpoke. Already have Koffing and Weezing, they’re great.
>>8598384Scales nicely with figma.
>>8598148Just make sure it's not Sculpey III, that shit shatters to pieces if you look at it wrong. Also, make sure to use aluminum foil and wire as a core. How much experience do you have making plushies? What kinda critter are you gonna make? Here's an excerpt from my Phascomon pattern that might be helpful for your project.(I really should have marked the right/wrong sides of the fabric on this diagram. 4 and 5 are wrong side out, 6 and 7 are right side out.)I like sculpting a flange onto the base of the clay part. Then I secure the inside out plush part with upholstery thread, and turn the fabric right side out. Nice and secure without the headache of gluing fabric.>>8598123Yeah, look up "art doll tutorial" >>8598384>>8598392That's an extra cute lapras
>when u cant pick just one fuck me mate
>>8598519The sheep is far superior
>>8598519>>8598576seconded, sheep kicks bear's ass
>>8581589>>8588935Is this meant to be a specific character or something? I can’t tell what sort of creature it is.
>>8598448Different person, but this looks helpful for something I'm planning on making. How large are the claws on yours?
>>8598519/toy/ is right, sheep is the obvious choice >>8599169About an inch long. The pattern also includes instructions and a diagram for making the claws themselves>https://www.deviantart.com/toyhermit/art/Phascomon-Plush-Pattern-814627776What are you gonna make?
>>8597713Do you WANT to get cucked?
>>8599234I'm trying to make some anime weebshit, not something that really seems to get posted here. I don't even have a concrete plan yet, I'm just putting ideas together.
>>8601583>I'm trying to make some anime weebshit>not something that really seems to get posted herWhere do you think you are, dude? /toy/'s like 40% weebshit
I still have a lot of plushes from my childhood, but they've all been piled on a shelf at the very top of my closet for 15 years or something. I don't even remember what they all are, exactly.I want to take them out just to see what they are, but I'm afraid they'll be super dusty or covered in cobwebs and spider eggs and stuff. If anyone knows any good way to clean old plushes that haven't been touched in a long time, feel free to post it.
>>8601857First off take them outside and give them a good shake to get the larger part of the dust off. Then check the tags if they still have them for care instructions. Most modern plushies can safely take a trip tgrought the washing machine on delicate in a delicates bag/ pillow case. I use woolite delicates (pic related) to clean all my thrift store plushies. Works great and doesn't leave them with a strong fragrance, just nice and clean.Lastly after they've taken a spin in the washer pop them in the dryer (still in the delicates bag) on cool or low warm for however long it takes to dry them. Do not dry them on any kind of quick dry setting as that might make them hot and soften/melt any plastic eyes or noses.
Also if anyone else is interesting in thrifting or restoring old plush I highly reccomend buying a set of delicates bags to wash things in. I know you can use a pillow case but drying on a pillow case takes forever and a good set like pic related are only $11 -12 on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VXTRG23/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_BS4XFb97P054Y?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
>>8602256>>8602259Not that anon but do you have any advice on how to whiten embroidery? I finally found my grail plush but it seems like the whites of its eyes have yellowed a bit from storage/age. This type of plush can only be surface washed.
>>8602371Unless it can be washed I don't have much advise for you. You could make a paste out of oxiclean and a bit of water and apply it carefully to the embroidery then try to carefully wipe it off after its set a bit but that's risky. If the item has actual big money value you could have it professionally restored but otherwise id leave it as is.
>>8598763He's a yale (the creature the college was named after.) Charlie Bears did a Queen's Beasts series, with different heraldic animals. Another anon posted the griffin, which I was looking for, but I found the yale, and completely fell in love with him.
>>8602516Ah that’s too bad. Thank you anyway.
>>8602256>>8602259Thanks for the advice. I’ll look into getting that woolite and some delicate bags. For the time being, I might also try vacuuming to get rid of some of the surface dust. I’ve heard that can be helpful.
>>8603202 Vacuuming can definitely help. If any of them are really delicate you can rubber band pantyhose over the end of the vacume hose to make sure nothing gets sucked off them or damaged.
Now this is my kind of general! Thought I'd share this plush. I won it from a UFO catcher in Japan in 2016. Its from Final Fantasy, though I don't play the games so I didn't know what it was at first. What makes it special is the material it is filled with. This is softest, most plush toy I've ever come across. It is softer than the 'mochi' style plushes out there. I have no clue what its made with but I highly recommend getting one of these if they are still around to purchase anywhere online. You won't be disappointed!!
>>8603642I actually just did some searching and finally figured out it is a 'Bomb' from Final Fantasy XIV Online plush made by Taito, for anyone that's interested in searching for it. Unbelievably squishy
>>8602543>the creature the college was named afterAckshually, it was named after a guy called Yale
>>8599747Nope, i just wanted it to have a good home. Something wholesome.
>>8602543I can't even begin to describe the glee it brings me to know that I've converted 4chan, largely considered the cesspit of the internet, to a hobby as wholesome as expensive niche teddy bears.
>>8598519Already getting the sheep in pink but who is bear and where do I purchase
>>8604159>4chan is one person
>>8603215Plastic window screen is better than pantyhose. Allows better airflow for particles and spiders and stuff.
>>8606018 Your probably right. Panty hose is just what I use to clean vintage needlepoints which usually only have very fine dust on them.
>>8581589>>8588935>>8602543Is it a custom plush or something you can buy?
anyone like fashion for their plushes?
>>8606211https://lovelybears.com.au/products/keys-charlie-bears-queens-beast-yale-limited-edition-series-no-314https://www.samanthasdolls.com/product/keys/
>>8604159Underneath the innocent layer of plush fur is a special hole
>>8606825EXPENSIVE!
>>8582031>he is kind of awkward and wonkyhow he should be! Next time maybe invert the fabric, sew around most of it, turn it inside out and then stuff/close it. If you plan on making any more, that is.
I was thinking of getting one of the Fallout teddy bears since they haven't made one of the two head cow.
>>8602543The gryphon anon was me. I never found anywhere that sold it, and it's too expensive for me anyway, but I've really loved seeing all of your photos and adventures with Keys. I'm so glad you were introduced to him.
Been thinking about getting the rest of those talking South Park plushes, of at least the main four. I still have Kenny.
>>8603642Cute! Thanks for posting
I ordered this cutieSay something nice about him
>>8615869>Say something nice about himI don’t think that’s possible
>>8615869his teeth look very healthy
>>8615869Those ears are adorable af
>>8609597Not all of them. That's just what the Judy Hopps plush if for.
Well that’s a bit disappointing...
>>8610019I did that first, but I did the wrong kind of stitch and it ended up looking wonky as hell so I had to do a blanket stitch in the outside so hed actually stay together.
This is nice board?
>>8615869What wave is that boy from? I bought some from the first wave and I've been waiting on info on the next waves.
I said no more, but then I saw this carebear for the bargain price of 15 britbux... i have no self control
I don't even like Toxel that much, but they made this lil nigga so cute. First Pokémon plush I've been excited for in a long time.
>>8625240What a cutie!
>>8625240that's a pretty great face
>>8606253Fuck I haven't thought about Muffy in years. I think my grandma got one for me.
>>8625035this is amazing anon!! are you making this yourself?
>>86269913 of them. Last commission of the year. Should have the hair done on at least two tomorrow.
>>8627323Hell yeah, I love seeing other plush makers on here. What character is it?
>>8627339Beary Pink from /s4s/
>>8625065I just know his name is grin grin sorryanyone have unibearsity cubs? If yes show us please !
>>8627485This is the most adorable teddy I've ever seen
>>8627485I just got one a few weeks ago, I was surprised by how much I like it. I got Mocha because he was a little cheaper than Pudding and the eyelashes didn't really matter to me. I really wanted the outfit in the picture too, but I just couldn't get myself to pay $70+ to import a teddy bear dress right now. Maybe someday when shipping goes back to normal.
>>8628336Yeah they're pretty expensive unfortunately. I just ordered a vintage Goofy plush toy, I'll have to save a bit before I can afford it, not to mention ChristmasAnyway, look at this cute little man, so fancy !
>>8627703Yes they are
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVYS_ynWZ1Y
Nothing to say. Just bumping with a capybara plush pic.
any good places to buy outfits for teddy bears or other plushes?
>>8611723Speaking of which, do you guys think it's possible to repair pleather on plushies? Websites recommend leather paint to repair furniture, will that also work on toys?
>>8581589Its cool to see a Charlie bear on here, these two are the only ones I have so far but I want a thriving forest animal collection one day
gomen for my photography skillsI finally got sick of trying to cut, bend, drill, and solder tiny pieces of stainless steel tubing and got Mewtwo's finger armature parts laser cut instead. I'm pretty excite to put it all together.>>8630169omg i love it
>>8631435I just discovered there's a bear store near me (near another cool old toy store which is a win) I'm still salty as hell they were closed. I think they actually had some one with covid so they closed by choice, and I'm in support of that, but dammit I wanted to see that Charlie Bears and Steiffs they had.
>>8631547Next up, I gotta tidy up the countersinking, bevel everything, and solder those ball bearings to the end segments
>>86341861" grid there? Those are some long fingers. How tall, overall, will your Mewtoo be?
>>863419613 inches, the actual fingers won't be as long as the armature. the bottom joint and segment are actually part of the palm.
>>8634196>>8634200Here, found a pic of the prototype hand with the old brass armature
Holy shit, never thought I’d see Charlie Bears on /toy/. I’ve been collecting the little fluffballs for over eight years now. The Queen’s Beasts is definitely one of the best designed lines in their history, Keys is incredible. I can’t wait to see what the white horse and the white lion look like next year.>>8610659Griff still isn’t out yet, he was scheduled for Q4 2020 (Oct-Dec). So he should be released within the next month or so.
>>8627339Almost done. Basically just need to stuff and stitch down the hair.
>>8635627I've never been to /s4s/ and idk shit about the character, but those look pretty damn slick
>>8635637These are a commission from a single buyer. I went and looked at /s4s/. It's not really a nice board.
I have a teddy bear I've had for most of my life. Hes a cute little dude and I recently did some digging and i found out that he's from The Boyd's Colletion from the Bears in the Attic collection. I love him so much and his name is Teddums.
>>8635721He needs some more stuffing, fren. He's cute, but skinny.
>>8635731hes very very old. probably around 20 years old. i like that hes skinny bc it shows hes been well loved
How does one choose a decent plush toy?I need a replacement for my real cat I had to leave behind when moving out a few months ago, but can't decide what's actually decent on Amazon and not just 3€ chinese crap.
>>8639200Depends on brand. I always like cuddlekins and wild republic, if you want more realistic hansa is expensive but really good qualityI was hoping for fluffier snow for pics, but it was pretty compacted. Still, Keys is adorable as hell out there.
>>8639200Steiff and Gund are reputable brands, with long histories. Both have cat plushes.
>>8627339>>8626991These are finally done. Just need to box them up and mail them out on Monday.
>>8640107looks amazing, great job! I hope you were paid well for your work
>>8640287I was, indeed. I don't want to make anymore, but I might need an ebil one. Maybe.
>>8642204Nice, did you embroider the face?
>>8643196Yeah, it's all handwork. I don't have an embroidery machine. Takes a while, to do it by hand.
>>8643461Daaaaaaaaamn, color me impressed. I sure can't do handwork that tidy!
>>8639290Seconding hansa. If you want realistic animal plush and you don't want to pay for a custom they are fantastic quality. You can score them secondhand on eBay for good prices.
>>8643495Decades of practice. Not a plush, but a piece I've been working on for about 5 years.
>>8643510damn how big is that piece?
>>864352618" w x 27"l.
>>8639200Douglas makes some good plush
I wish japan international shipping wasn't fucked and scalpers taking advantage of it, I dream of having this Galarian Ponyta plush. It's become one of my new favorite mons but I won't pay $100+ for it when that's far from what it originally sold for
>>8643774Keep an eye out on mandarake, they often get a good variety of Pokemon plushies, and they're usually decently priced. The best search term is "pokemon stuffed" and I sometimes check the "nuigurumi" (and occasionally "nuigumi" )
>>8643510Wow! This is beautiful!
>>8644233Thank you. I hope to get it finished before I die. Lol!
>>86435105 years? That's some dedication
>>8647095It's a big piece that requires a full fill--no outline work. I don't have any recent pictures, but the entire left side of the rays, from the angel to the moon, and a bit of the background are now done. There's a banner behind the crown that's done, and I've started on the right side rays. I only work on it in my spare time, and I don't have a lot of that. I've used a ton of different threads, like regular sewing thread, cotton embroidery floss, rayon and silk flosses, metallic threads (mostly gold, but silver in the moon that doesn't show up well in the photo). Takes time.
>>8635848This is my childhood teddy bear. He never had a name, he's just the Knickerbocker bear. My grandma bought him in NY in 1964, so he's an antique now. Lots of repairs over the years. He's mohair, velveteen, and stuffed with excelsior.
Did you get a nice plush for Christmas anon? Show us your haul
>>8651321No, but my sister got a dog plush for my dad as part of a joke present. It's really soft and has pretty thick fur, and it has a tag that says its name is "Li'l Bubbles" or something like that. I forget the exact name.
>>8651321Not for Christmas but in a few days I'll be getting some plush autism
I finally managed to be on the sight when this thing was in stock. I've never dropped cash so fast in my life
>>8651885Meant to post pic
>>8615869I would cuddle this cutie. :3
>>8647642Hewooo! I wuv dis bear.
>>8651922Thank you! He's pretty special, even if he's a bit of a baldy.
>>8652070Yow're welcome! :3
>>8651321>>8651715These are the ones I’ve amassed over the festive season. Told myself I need to stop but a local bargain shop had the big care bear, then the smaller ones, then the pushewn plush were reduced to a £4 each. Same with brown bear.Tokidoki was a tenner so couldn’t resist. The amuse lot were my official to self gift though. And I do want to get the other dragons I’d they ever restock Ps. Got the squisables moths coming too. Duck it. It’s been a miserable year there no real reason to not buy things that make me happy
>>8655355That's an awfully big Bedtime Bear! Looks super snuggly, though!
>>8651542I got a chance to snap a pic of it today. Turns out it's actually called "Li'l Doodles", and the tag says Bearington.
Is the anon who makes the big gondola plushies still here?
an actual ghost would be easier to photograph oh my godI'm gonna try rigging some supports i can photoshop out so this guy stops spinning around long enough to photograph. Will upload the pattern file once i get some better pics
>>8658803what did you end up using for the cloud on the top of the head?
>>8658476Hopefully not
>>8647642Classy af
>>8659710I guess this is what he looked like when I was little. I don't remember. Also "Teddy Kuddles"? Meh
>>8625240heh i saw you on /ot/.
>>8655355im jealous of the stitch and giant bedtime bear. my bf got me a y2k HUGE 26" grumpy bear. still looking for some more carebear cousins. i have a big tokidoki unicorn too, and am trying to find some of those amuse plushes myself for a cheaper price. really cute collection anon.
>>8658803Nice! It looks very accurate to the original mon.
>>8659852The stitch is part of the generally adorable disney babies range. Dying for a gloomy bear myself but I find it quite hard to find one for a reasonable price. I think they have become trendy with the alternative crowd again. The little amuse plush arent too expensive from Blippo and tofucute, but they are certainly treats, i also find it odd these are considered medium plush rather than small
>>8655355 i see quite a few amuse plushies! I'm still waiting for my family to send my christmas gifts but I also got the unicorn :') Will post when I get them
>>8634186Mewtwo armature update. Nearly done. Then I get to do it all over again for the other hand. >>8659432This stuff. Scissor sculpted the shit out of it, though. The actual pile is about 1/2" deep. >https://www.fabricguru.com/textured-solids/lifestyles-furever-faux-fur-upholstery-fabric-swan.html>>8660025Thanks man!
currently own mametchi but maybe buyig kuchipatchi soon. already spent some of my check on nib bratz and some care bears lol
Absolutely fascinated by this listing
>>86644875 years old, each bear handmade by Steiff, limited edition, manga tie-in based on sketches done by the author. The seller might get that. I wouldn't be surprised.
Got him a few days ago
haven't posted since the first plush thread, batman and rash from battletoads are my only new pickups since then if I'm not mistaken. Also waiting on a conker plush from fangamer, its a preorder though so no idea when it will ship
My favourite owl stuffie's stitching came loose and now he has a hole in his neck ;__;I'll have to fix him or I'll cry. I think I cuddle him too hard at night
>>8668985post pic.
>>8668985Use a doubled thread and ladder stitch it closed. and stop "cuddling" him so hard.
>>8669245Here is the tear>>8669345Thanks for the advice fren. Also no bulli >.<. I love him I don't "cuddle" like that with him
>>8669345^This, also be sure to brush out the seam afterwards. Do this right and the fix will be almost invisible
i want final fantasy stuffy
I think they got their money's worth.

Please answer the following:a. Why do you have plushies ?b. What mental illnesses to you have?c. Who is your favourite plushie? Post itd. Why do you fuck plushies? Don't lie we know you do you sicko
its huge and soft and decently made, i love it
>>8581589years and years ago, when I was born, one of my mom's friends gave me a small brown teddy bear as a gift. I had many stuffed animals, including other teddy bears, that I loved. for reasons lost to time however, this bear I hated. so, my mom donated it. for some reason, I came to deeply regret my actions. My first son will be born soon, and I want to give him an identical teddy bear as a gift. this is my penance. I sought long and hard to no avail. can /plush/ help? you may think this is a strange tale, but I am a strange man. the bear:>made around 1985>brown fur>black beady eyes>small, probably 8">may have been by Gund>the bear's name was "cookie" and said so on the care tag on its butt>not wearing any clothes; may have had a red ribbon around its neck
>>8679538This guy? Gund Cookie Luv-a-Lot
>>8679538He's big tho. Like 16"
>>8680407>>8680417also no, that's not him. right look, but the particulars are off (too big, too light). I remember the name "cookie" being very prominent on the tag. not 100% that he was Gund; the mid 80s were a while off. thanks a lot though. this quest has bedeviled me for a long time.
>>8598384nice lapras,, i got this slowpoke for christmas, i think its pretty great. i have him still in his packaging, do you guys always display your plushes without any covering/protection or do you keep in in some kind of display case??>>8675955that kirby is pretty awesome
Ordered this blue whale from Steiff and sent it back immediately. 90 EUR.It was so beautiful but I can't allow myself to become a total søy boy just yet.
