>>

It's just hugely popular. It'll come back in stock a little closer to release, or by the time it releases. Probably find it at Gamestop.
>>
>>8578792
>popular character that people admire and agree with sells out
no shit
>>
>>8578792
Each retailer only gets a certain amount of initial supply. They can reorder, but the amount of time it takes to fill the reorder will vary. In some cases they're not even allowed to reorder an upcoming item before it's release, hence why something may be sold out of preorders months before release and doesn't allow any further orders until long after the official release date.
>>
>>8578655
I am usually not into Marvel Selects, but god damn that face is perfect. Might have to get this.
>>
>>8578809
I used to be more into them, but they really dropped in quality for a while. This Titanium Man looks super good though
>>
>>8577712
>Old man checking in. Think he was The Web, a Carlston Comic character. DC bought the rights and remade them in the 90s (The Fly, The Shield, The Web)
>I got mine from a Kmart back in the day.
Close, it was Red Circle comics which was printed by Archie Comics. They did have a deal with DC for a bit. The action figure line wss Mighty Crusaders. I did look on thr back and it did say copyright Archie 1984. I might just put him with my Spider-man figures since I don't have any others and uzed to just say he was another Spider-man as a kid.
>>
>>8578799
What video is this?
>>
So, /toy/, which Venom do I get? Movie or Deluxe? Perhaps both? I unironically enjoyed the movie and he looks like a cool figure but I would prefer the current Deluxe Venom for my spider display.

>>
>>8578834
The movie figure is pretty stellar. I don't even like the movie, but I got the figure cause it looked so good. And it IS good. Solid articulation, the nice shiny gloopy look to the blacks, love it. Also sexy feet.
>>
>>8578834
That's a tough choice, Movie Venom is more posable, but Deluxe Venom has the chonk on his side.

so am i a retard for planning on getting this dark phoenix / cyclops exclusive 2 pack with some christmas money, it's like $200 which is absurd but that dark phoenix is the best looking marvel legends figure i've ever seen.

i got a bunch of marvel legends figures, mainly avengers/xmen comic figures and a buncha mcu, but i feel like i need these. or should i just wait like 10 years for them to make a new one.
>>
>>8579133
>$200
Don't. Given how Hasbro has been finding ways to reissue highly sought and popular figures, there's a good chance both figures will be re-released in the near future.

>>
>>8579139
okay thanks, i needed that reassurance and i assume they will need to re-release, hopefully when they do the heads arent much difference cuz phoenix on the left is PERFECT. and if they're different / worse maybe the two pack will go down in value and ill pull the trigger then.

its smart not to waste $200 like that. I mean, i just started from the ground up at the start of quarantine (marchish) with OT and PT star wars black series, and a full marvel legends collection, as well as power rangers lightning collection for the first 5ish seasons, and my continued dbz figuarts collection. i need to stop wasting money, prob spend $5k since the start of the year just to start up these collections / get the figures ive been wanting.

I'm so tempted to pick this figure up, but the feet bug me. I assume they're supposed to be claws or talons or something, but they just look like floopy elf shoes to me.

Would like to see some if the less popular, and therefore unlikely to get toys otherwise, heralds like Air-Walker/ Morg/ Nova/ Red Shift/ etc.

I don't really care for battle damaged Galactus or unmasked ...seems beneath his grandeur, so would rather get heralds over parts for Galactus himself.
>>
>>8578919

Hell he totally could. He's got the proportions for it.
>>

The thing about Gwenom is that the best parts of the picture are in profile and in the back. The front is pretty boring. The profile of her mouth/fanged hood is pretty neat with paint on the gumlines and the teeth, and the back of her jacket has a cool venom logo. She also has molded detail on her forearms of these white spikes protruding out.

>>8579422
I hope they reissue or restock that Spider-Man to the rafters.

>>8579468
I think they're supposed to riffing on her ballet shoes. I could take or leave them honestly but I appreciate more molding where possible. It's kinda tragic the ballet shoes got molded, and it looks like the Marvel Girl didn't get molded boots
>>
>>8579468
Is that what bothers you? Not that silly tongue-thingy?
>>
>>8579147
As long as he's huge and based on John Byrne's design. Hoping for Heralds as well for stretch goals, my number 1 most wanted is Nova (not Dick Rider) followed by Morg, Firelord and Airwalker.
>>
>>8579147
my most pressing concern is his size. I feel it's gonna be a disappointment if he's the same size as the Sentinel.

I mean it says right there, (variable), so he could technically be a 6" figure and it would scale. Generally though, when he's floating around in space, he's holding Surfer in his hand like he were a mantis or something.
>>
I like the “Bring On the Bad Guys” theme, hope they do storyline specific waves in the future. I could think of a few that would be perfect.

You don't want a Galactus standing in the corner of your bedroom staring at you?
>>

The more pressing question is will he and Magneto rob a bank together? And will Crimson Dynamo somehow get involved.

I hate when Galactus is used to put shitty new characters over to show how op they are. Galactus should have like 6 defeats ever (FF the first time, IG Thanos, Secret Wars Beyonder and a couple others.)

This looks very fake to me. That red looks unpainted, almost translucent and raw. The paint application for those black pattern looks horrible. Most important of all, between the muscles, especially near the black patterns, there should be this subtle gray smokey effect. The real thing has a more sophisticated paint application. This thing you have, the red looks dull, like the cheap drug store Hasbro 3.75. Also, look at that left should, and the left rib.
You can subjectively criticize AY, but the objective quality of the toy, real Kaiyodo pieces wouldn't have those unclean sprues like that.

Overall, looks not legit.

So Marvelous News is reporting this as the full Bring On the Bad Guys wave:
-Arcade
-Classic Dormammu
-AIM Scientist Supreme
-Hydra Supreme
-Lady Deathstrike
-The Hood
-Victor Von Doom

Nothing concrete in which versions of Doom and Supreme Hydra. No word on what the BAF will be.

MODOK is also going to be a stand-alone deluxe figure and apparently he may be $50.
>>
We will never get a proper Red Skull, will we?
>>
>>8580282
>>8580284
Thanks for the info, guys. I almost got got
>>
>>8579973
That’s fine, but given the image of the Sentinel holding Wolverine in his hand, I feel like whatever price increase is necessary for Galactus to do this pose is negligible, considering the difference between him holding Surfer and palming him like he is here. I don’t see a world where tons of people pay $500 for Galactus just to be 36”, instead of $350 for him to be 28”. Maybe I’m wrong though.

>>8580218
They wait 6 months minimum to rerelease a BAF nowadays and I don’t know what they’d change about him either, making it less likely. Just buy it now while you have the chance.

>>8580257
Carnage and Venom are both easily worth the $20, and I’d argue Morbius is good too. It’s just because Phage and Morbius are C-listers at best that you don’t want them, and that’s fine, it’s just personal preference. The other four figures in the wave are decent.

>>8579983
This wave would be fucking sick. Makes me want a Guardsmen though, more than Stingray, although I’m sure some people want him.

>>8580380
>>8580395
Missed fucking opportunity, I understand that a classic Red Skull, a classic Zemo, or a classic Ultron can anchor a future wave, but come on dude, does Lady Deathstrike really need to be released here when X-Men get 4+ waves a year? Do we need a third Doom in the span of a year? Dormammu is literally the only “classic” character in the wave (although I guess Arcade and Deathstrike count): it couldn’t be further from “Bring on the Bad Guys”.
>>
>>8580380
Pretty meh wave honestly. I hope the BAF doesn't turn out to be something I want.
>>
>>8580380
Pretty lame, I was hoping for a better line up of villains.
Maybe I'll get supreme AIM guy and the BAF if it's good.
>>
>>8580380
Well we needed a new Lady Deathstrike, so that's not bad. But Von Doom? Really? Meh.
>>
>>8580380
We should have gotten mole man instead of doom especially since we haven't had many fantastic 4 villains
>>
>>8580352
That’s The Mauler, a generic thug that most heroes dispatch with little effort. The first one showed up in Daredevil during Miller’s run, then the suit was given to another goon this time with Stark technology providing an upgrade. During Armor Wars The Mauler is just a bump in the road for Tony. Every wave need a jobber right?

Last time I saw The Mauler he was very foolishly taking on Hyperion.
>>
>>8580482
I had considered a Guardsmen but would prefer it to be in a wave where there’s an incentive to army build them like the Hand Ninja/Stilt Man legs deal.
>>
>>8580380
Pretty lame wave, with the exception of classic Dormammu. We need more classic characters.
>>
>>8580482

It really runs me up a wall that we live in a day when everyone is so obsessed with the idea of cucks and incels that they can't appreciate a tragic irony of a being so cosmically powerful become humbled by the most basic of human emotions and instead will praise some inane plot about limited resources as being "KIND OF HAVING A POINT"

Nowadays if a character shows any romantic feelings towards anorher they are automatically labelled as either a cuck, incel or simp, it's pretty ridiculous and makes me wonder if there is some deeper meaning behind this like people being afraid to show emotions anymore or if it's just shitposting.

I really don't get how we reached this point. When did it become uncool to want a stronger emotional connection? When did sarcastic and ironic detachment become the status quo? Why are people afraid to show a bit of human emotion, to be unafraid to feel something beyond wacky comedy or self aware smugness.

With Titanium Man on the way, do you guys think Diamond Select has finally realised people just want fuck huge figures from them? Their line up for 2021 has been pretty wild with size thus far. Blame the internet age, where in all people feel the need to wear a veil of sarcasm and irony to protect themselves from any manner of online jab, joke, or poke despite putting their necks out online to begin with. I really do miss the substance older comics used to carry with them. I still consider Lee and Kirby's Fantastic Four run to be amongst the greats, if not, the greatest comic ever released.

I just miss when things felt like they mattered. When we could do more than just tear things down to laugh at it, to when we could find small victories and joys and we weren't afraid of soap opera tier schmaltz. My favorite issues of the X-men were always when they were just trying to be regular people who set a decent example and do the right thing while finding a place to belong and not the modern perpetually militant borderline super villain bullshit. A quiet panel where they would hang out a favorite pub, walk through central park on an autumn even and even spend a whole issue on a real wedding just reveling in everyone's happiness.

The big thing to remember though is that Marvel didn't become bankrupt because the comics weren't selling. What's considered a good selling book today would have been a joke 20 years ago. And while I won't say they didn't screw the pooch with the whole speculative market push, they could have survived that wave if they hadn't gone full retard and started buying up every card company, and other such studios.

>1.0 Harley+a costume made of scraps because the Joker is too poor to buy her decent quality fabric+BOOBA=inspiring and original

At least when Laura did it, it was after Logan had "died" and did it to carry on his legacy, but sure, keep shitting on her, while holding up a non-meta character who can inexplicably develop Joker toxins better than the guy who has so much plot armor, he might as well sell it to the universe around him, who has studied, analyzed, and reversed Joker toxins for 4x her lifetime. What a great, inspiring, and original character you have there.
>>
>>8582528
Opposite, she stood on her own without her father' but then they got obsessed with the idea that women or minorities had to replace everyone, and then stripped her identity down to where she's like a cardboard cut out of what an outsider thinks a female wolverine is.

You could describe her as autistic, feral, poorly acclimated to civil life, and directionless for a time.m Had some great moments with Wolverine and decent ones with Gambit, but then this happened and she's not even a character anymore.

She's got like a bunch of clone groupies with less claws and a talking badger? It's retarded.
>>
>>8582573
>At least when Laura did it, it was after Logan had "died" and did it to carry on his legacy, but sure, keep shitting on her
It doesn't make sense from a character perspective, Logan doesn't want anyone else to be Wolverine because Wolverine is a terrible person, the codename means death. He is a piece of shit and hates himself, it's one of the reasons he got so angry and shocked his shithead son wore the suit, and his son did that to piss him off.

Why on earth would she do the one thing she knows Logan would be dissapointed in her with? Why would she throw away her own identity to pick up the one thing her pseudo dad hates? Why would she do that when most of her arcs were about her finding out who she was and hammering out her own identity? It makes no sense on several very important levels.

Want to take her away from Joker, and give her a feminist angle where she reclaims her autonomy? Fine. You can do that withou simplifying her down to manic pixie Deadpool with plot armor that has rivaled Batman's and the Joker's over the past decade.
There has been nothing wrong with the desired outcome, but the execution has been a qualitative minefield for the last decade.

Probably never. Even his creator Joe Quesada (who's creation of Random and demanding he join X-Factor that Havok/Polaris break up so Random could get Polaris as a girlfriend, leading to PAD rage-quitting X-Factor) hates him, hence why during Quesada's tenure running Marvel, Random only appeared twice: once as a concentration camp prisoner in Weapon X and the second as a background stooge of Exodus who didn't do anything when Exodus merged his group with the Marauders several issues after Exodus's group appeared.

I have them, i just didn't want to clusterfuck the shelf more than it already is. I was trying to go for a more 'members of the classic Sinister Six teams' shelf (besides Venom because i mean it's Venom). Personally I think of green goblin/norman osborne as more of a standalone spider-man villain. Carnage to me was always a spider-man/venom villain, but not really a Sinister Six villain, y'know? Same with Morbius. But Hobgoblin I just don't have the hasbro one and felt like the Toybiz one would look weird. But maybe Hob and Green Goblin do belong on the shelf. Admittedly, it does feel a bit weird to have both Shocker and Electro there.

I guess my next question is; who should I add/take out if I have ~12 slots? Or should I just clusterfuck it up and add everyone?

>>8585192
>>8585233
>>8585256
It's hard because the shelf is a mix of TAS and comic. I'm leaning toward the retro with the Lizard wave dome/cape
>>
>>8585377
>I have them, i just didn't want to clusterfuck the shelf more than it already is.

I just got a detolf and I'm facing a similar issue. I think less is more with the amount of space you have in a default detolf shelf. I would try different arrangements to see which is most pleasing to the eye. Just from my own enjoyment, I feel like Ock, Kraven, Vulture, and Electro make a nice set in how they're posed. Venom is great too. You could always have a dynamic Sinister Six shelf, and then have a dedicated shelf to Spidey villains in general.

Missed opportunity for Mandarin, Red Skull, Zemo, Ultron, Titanium Man, a proper Crimson Dynamo, a proper Loki, Annihilus, so many villains they could’ve done instead.
>>
Is the blue/yellow Deadpool any good?
>>
>>8584309
I'd pick this up if it had hand options
>>
>>8585500
Very much agree with you, there are so many villains in need of either an update or, in some cases, their first figure. Instead we just keep getting more Iron Men, Deadpools, Symbiotes, Spider-Men, Wolverines, etc.

I get it. They sell but c’mon... the z-list Serpent Society has almost as many members in toy form as the Masters of Evil. Ultron doesn’t have one figure based on the classic design, the BAF Annihilus is atrocious, Mandarin hasn’t had a figure since that janky two-pack version from a decade ago.

We do have a proper Loki though and the Select Titanium Man is probably better than any version we’d get from Legends.

One last rant; the Fantastic Four IP is back under Marvel/Disney... so why do we only get the four and Doom? They have an amazing roster of villains and heroes, let us give you our money Hasbro!
>>
>>8585500

The upcoming Select looks perfect in sculpt and scale with ML's.

>a proper Crimson Dynamo
I'll give you that, but what is 'proper'?

>a proper Loki

>Annihilus
I'm good with the BAF from several years ago but it could be improved.
>>
>>8585748
We haven't gotten a classic ultron from ML, and if they did a classic thanos despite the fact that the select thanos exists, a classic ultron is possible. A proper crimson dynamo would be literally anything except the design they did for the baf. They chose the only non villainous dynamo

Mandarin’s in the Shang Chi movie, I wouldn’t rule him out.

The trench coat red skull is on a terrible body. I hate Y-joint hips. But I do have a custom on Spider-Man Noir’s body, which is serviceable. But I want a Nazi uniform.

I want a classic Helmut Zemo. The modern one from 2014 doesn’t have the leopard print purple outfit, and Citizen V isn’t what I want either. “Original” was from Toybiz, so I don’t want that either.

Ultron also only has modern options. I want a classic one.

Titanium Man admittedly does look cool, I just generally don’t like Select’s articulation limitations.

Crimson Dynamo BAF from this year is the version a child made. I don’t think he even fought Iron Man. I really want the version from Armor Wars.

Loki has a classic figure from the smart hulk wave but I just hate the mold they chose. Admittedly this is the one I’m being the most picky about, they’ve released a handful of serviceable comic ones.

The Annihilus BAF from years ago is too skinny IMO. And he’s from the dark age of Hasbro.

Admittedly almost all of your criticisms are “aren’t you happy with the modern versions?” And for me, the answer is no. I want the classics. That’s why I was excited to see Dormammu, a classic version of a character who already got released. I was hoping for the same for the villains I listed.
>>
>>8585789

EXCUSE ME?!?!

Ultron is non-binary by design, and has presented as a female in the past.

Annihilus is insectoid, we don’t really know xers gender. Only a bigot would assume male.

Mangog is an amalgamation of an entire race, it is omnisexual most likely..or pansexual?

No African Americans that’s true, but we have an Asian...and a Communist. That has to total at least 89% of an African American on the social justice scale.
>>
>>8585978
The BAF is The Mangog.

A nearly unstoppable enemy for Thor, Odin and all of Asgard. The Mangog physical manifestation of a long dead race that was executed by a young and reckless Odin. The collective hatred of a billion dead beings took physical shape in The Mangog and unleashed him into the world.

It’s not used that often because it is supposed to be incalculably strong and even Odin is supposed to fear The Mangog... but, like most comic characters, it has jobbed out on a few occasions. Most recently losing to Lady Thor.

It’s a Kirby original but I’m quite fond of other artist’s take on it as well.

Bullshit. They have made more obscure trash characters than him so he will get another figure. Plus we've got the SHang Chi movie coming out which is likely to have him in it.
>Red Skull
>the last trench coated one was decent
Do you mean the Winter Soldier one? Because that figure is trash. The MCU SDCC one isn't bad but he could still get an update of some kind
>Zemo
>What more do you want? We've gotten original, modern and Citizen V already.
We have not gotten the original, the one we got was his at the time modern incarnation. We could get a Heinrich or a classic Helmut. Or just an update not on the bucky cap body.
>Ultron
>Lots of options already between Hasbro & Select
No Legend has caught the proper scale and imposing nature of Ultron. The MCU one could have worked if it wasn't for the shitty MCU Head. The Select is trash and not worth what it goes for
>Titanium Man
>The upcoming Select looks perfect in sculpt and scale with ML's.
True but maybe not everyone wants the classic look.
>a proper Crimson Dynamo
>I'll give you that, but what is 'proper'?
Not everyone liked the Big BaF. Same answer as the Titanium man but flipped.
>a proper Loki
>After ALL the versions out there you haven't found one you like?
So our only options are 3 dissapointing MCU figures and a Classic Loki that is to big and buff?
>Annihilus
>I'm good with the BAF from several years ago but it could be improved.
Agreed. Personally I thought the BaF was pretty trash but its not the worst of the Early Hasbro BaF's. Doesn't help it that Annihilus isn't normally portrayed as being that big.

So I'm going to turn Shang-chi into Quick Kick, are there any black legs that fit on his mold? It'll save me the trouble of pairing his current ones.
>>
>>8587422
Superior Ock is the only one I can think of, but you’ll lose the pants texture of Shang Chi and you’ll probably have to crack the torso to swap the pelvis too. Dunno if that’s more work for you than sanding Shang’s legs at the joints and just painting.
>>

Yeah I don't want to lose the pants texture, I might just need to paint it (or be lazy and do a swapped color pallet Quick Kick with red pants and black bandolier).

>>
>>8588477
The merman is U-Man, an Atlantean scientist and childhood rival of Namor. Later sells out Atlantis to the Nazis in exchange for Nazi super science surgeries that allow him to exceed Namor’s strength. He’s basically the Nazi Naval commander.

The bruiser is Captain Axis. A Nazi scientist that developed a serum extending his lifespan immensely. He fled to Latveria after the war and worked for Doom until he was betrayed and stuck in the microverse. Eventually he was bestowed superhuman strength to rival 70’s era Hulk but his powers failed him and he was ultimately left to rot in the microverse.
>>
>>8587875
>Hate Monger just popular or is it the same guy asking about it here?

Hate Monger's appeal is that he truly is the forbidden fruit of ML figures since he's LITERALLY Adolph Hitler and given today's reactive culture Hasbro would just get endless shit and bad press over inflated clickbait articles about selling Nazi dolls and lets face it, customizers would be make Hitler heads to put on him and probably make bank off of the /toy/soldiers that also haunt /pol/

He's actually very unhappy to be working with the Red Skull, it's a plot point for the "Acts of Vengeance" story.

All the villains team up and swap heroes, the goal being to present new unique threats to heroes that have grown accustomed to facing the same threat over and over again. You end up with battles like The Mandarin vs X-Men, Spider-Man vs Magneto, Mole Man vs Avengers West Coast, Thor vs Juggernaut, Dr Doom vs Punisher, Klaw vs Iron Man, Tiger Shark vs Wolverine, etc.

All the while Magneto and Red Skull are at each other's throats.
>>
>>8589317

>>
>>8589569
I could see that, if the figure comes with a massive accessory that's reasonable. Ultron is a fairly simple and straightforward design, there's honestly no reason to make it a BAF unless it's Ultron-6 with his hover chair, giant Ultron-7, that 6 armed Ultron from the "Age of Ultron" covers or some kind of premium Vac Metallic paint job Ultron.
