Does anyone own this guy? I've read that the joins are shit, is it true? I'd love to have him now that Sekiro is coming out, they'd look nice together.

I have a pair of these, and the oni skeleton they released before it. The joints can be pretty bad, but if you can find one for a pretty good price I'd still go for it, especially if you aim to pair it with Sekiro.

Is it because the joints are too small? Too lose in the sockets?
>>

The joints on mine are incredibly loose, almost floppy. Was like that out of the box and it can't stand on it's own without assistance. The armor did assist keeping the spine from folding up.

The joints that are likely to have issues can be separated, allowing the use of nail polish, super glue or Pledge floor gloss to kind of tighten up the tolerances again.

These are the two I have. I'll stand without assistance but yeah, they are fragile. Easy for things to come unpegged, tiny fiction joints that will start bending VERY easily, etc. As you can see from the pose of the ogre skeleton, they can hold bent joint poses and such, its just that if I were to boop him in the top of the head he might collapse.

You might wanna look into the KO versions that are floating around. Not sure of their quality but they're certainly much cheaper.

New to collecting toys/figures. Where's the best place to buy these skellies?
>>
>>8482911
Depends on wich skellies are referring to. But at least I can give you a general advice.
If they are Asian brands I go to Amiami, Hobby Link Japan and Hobby search. For second hand stuff Mandarake. For gachapon Rakuten.
If they are Western brands my best bet are European shops (I live In Europe), Amazon and Ebay. But If you're from USA I guess that Big Bad Toy Store Is good but a bit pricey. Maybe some american skelebros can help you more if you're from there.

My Mythic Articulations 3D Printed Lizard Man skeleton came in the mail yesterday. Setting aside the grainy feel of SLS nylon this spook is really nice. Jaw is hinged (think of a how a doctor’s stethoscope plugs into one’s ears) but is easy to get knocked off. Stands on its own using the tip of the tail as a third leg, height is a little over 6in. I might make castings in resin to articulate with Hobby Base joints.

That's probably from a Kroger owned chain.

Here's what mine looked like last year.
They probably had the biggest, and most varied selection with both returning and brand new items.
>>
>>8485547
And this is what it looks like this year.

I expected this year to be not as good for various reasons, but I didn't think the place with the best offerings from last year wouldn't even have a single bone boi this year.
>>
>>8485560
just from what I've seen its been kinda a shitshow all around finding any halloween displays/props
>Hobby Lobby completely skipped Halloween and Thanksgiving instead converting half the store to pure Christmas back in August
>World Market having a single 4way of halloween
>Targets stuff cut in half, with back to school still taking up much of the usual seasonal space
>Walmarts stuff cut in half, with back to school still taking up much of the usual seasonal space
Still haven't hit up any of the dollar trees/generals or Home Depot/Lowes this year but I don't have high hopes on them either.

My closest Target and Walmart successfully changed over from back to school to Halloween mid September.

Both had about the same amount of shelf space they did last year.

Target as always had some quality stuff for reasonable prices. However their skeleton selection didn't have any new offerings this year.

Same thing with Walmart, though they never really had that big of a skeleton display anyways.

Don't have a close World Market or BigLots, so I don't know about those.

Closest Hobby Lobby and Home Depot are out of town, and I've restricted my travel to just once a week for essentials.

My Dollar Trees & Dollar General had the usual stuff they've been selling for the past few years in terms of cheaper skeletons.

Michaels had a decent stock, but they're already starting to clearance their Halloween stuff out last time I was there.

My Lowes actually had a small selection of skeletons, though it wasn't anything we haven't seen before.

This year my Menards ended up having the biggest and most varied selection, though it was only about 2/3 to a half of what they had last year.

While it's been spotted at Walgreens, I haven't seen the octopus >>8485591 at either of my two stores.

All and all, not as horrible as it could have been this year, but still rather weak for me.

Same here. I was actually kind of surprised at the rapidity with which Target did the reset. They usually drag ass. Big Lots was pretty meager this year. DG has the same-old, same-old, but if you have a larger Dollar Tree they got some $5 items that were pretty cool. Lowes has a pretty fair selection, but I've not been to Home Depot to check out their offerings.

I'm late, but I have three Jizai Okimono KT-006. It's the one that comes with extra arms and heads and which I believe is similar in construction.
Joints are shit, yeah. The joints themselves are quite weak in strength because of the small pin (meaning the main rotation you use the bend the elbows, knees...), and the connection to the bone pieces is either kinda loose or way too tight/stuck (meaning the "swivel" function; though since most of the pieces have another redundant swivel function at the other end of the bone it's rare that both are stuck). Some of the joints may have a bit of misalignment, making it impossible to pose them straight, too.
It's a nice figure, and it can move and hold a pose but you have to accept that the poses might look... undead-ish and inhuman, which may not be a problem since it's an undead skeleton after all. Forget about making it hold heavy objects as well; it's just strong enough to hold its light weight

I love the boss fight skeletons. Their neck articulation is a bummer, and I wish their eblows had more range but still a great skeleton figure.

It kinda feels like they just wanted to make a generic skeleton figure though. The angry expressions on their face do not match the skeletons in the Golden Axe game. And now their adding in a skeleton with a mortal kombat figure.

I get why they wanted to attach their skeleton 2 pack to the Golden Axe franchise, but do you think they'll ever release more skeletons as generic skeletons for a cheaper price since it wouldn't be attacked to a license? Seems like the sales for the skeletons are doing well enough.
>>
>>8501653
Skies the limit if they decided to go all in on the skellys but I think the big thing would be introducing single packs and accessory sets.

And here it is with a few parts from another box.

My biggest issue with it is that the thing is covered with pegs, but almost no parts connect to them. Only the rib segments connect to pegs, everything else connects to ball joints. And those black connectors are not peg to ball joint adapters, they're ball joint to ball joint. They seem to do nothing but make parts wiggly. Now obviously I just have three of the same thing so I can't judge the whole line, but the modularity seems kind of weak. They're good enough skeletons but for a building toy I'm kind of let down, especially considering I've been playing with the hex bug junk bots recently.

Should someone make a spooky thread that's not just restricted to skeletons?
>>
I mentioned in a previous thread how the new COOmodel skeleton didn’t have an articulated jaw but turns out I was wrong, the jaw is in fact articulated. It’s just a bit stuck. I noticed MWCtoys made the same mistake. It still has a bunch of other problems but they got that right at least.
>>
Hey, new to /toy/. Are there any good death knightly skeleton figures in the vein of this?

I usually just take a bunch of pics and hope a few turn out.

Sometimes everything looks good on the viewscreen, but when put them on the computer they are all out of focus.

If the sun is out and I can't even see the screen, then it's just spray and pray.

Does anyone ever just get the urge to make 2 little eyeballs out of clay or something, and pop them in the sockets of whatever toy skeleton you have?

I feel like skeletons with eyes will only add to how expressive skeleton figures can already be

One of my local grocery stores; Trigs is carrying actual official Crazy Bonez this year. They were also carrying $1 bootlegs!

They had the basic small crow, which was just as bad, if not worse than the ones at Dollar Tree.

They also had a shrunk down fish seen here:

It cannot. It can't actually pose at all. It just as a plastic cord running down the spine to hold it together and let it bend. If you want an actual posable snake, try this one

Yeah I have the posable cobra, it's cool too, just the Target one looks a bit nicer imo. Shame, thanks for confirming though. I actually took the cobra apart to see if I could buy another and make an extra long posable snake but the ends are slightly different so would need to modify it a bit.

Feels pretty good imo. I'm not the biggest fan of McFarlane shit, but I've liked his Primaris, and Necron a lot so far. The primaris was more fun to play with, but the Necron was still good, with decent articulation, and really solid shelf presence. Materials feel alright too. Not amazing, but better than the average Hasbro figure, not nearly as gummy feeling and decent for a 20 dollar figure.

>I preordered this fella (pic related)
It's this "not Batman" unlicenced figure?
It looks neat but he still looks too much like armored batman than a death knight, still a neat figure with neat accessories
>>
>>8563267
I wish some chink company would make a ((not Ovelord)) figure of Ainz and Albedo and they would easily grab my wallet
>>
>>8563636
Yeah, but with that secondary head I thought why not. Also I'll use some accesories for my skeletons too.

>>8563639
I'd like to see that too. Same for a 1/12 Honda-san and Skullknight.

Yeah. Saw a friend with a 3d printer years ago and he printed it as demo and gave it to me. I really should put on another coat of white paint and redo the black. You can still see the grooves.

What kind of cars are those? They look like Hot Wheels from the wheels but can't seem to find anything.
>>
>>8564803
Look like Grossery Gang or some similarly-themed line.

Well, I'm glad you're getting better. (it wasn't the coof, was it?)

>October had 5 Saturdays; one of them Halloween itself
>Weather mostly decent in my area
>Full moon on Halloween, first in like 50 years
>Daylight savings also on Halloween, so 25 hours of Halloween

All of it wasted.
>>
With the addition of Morgolyth, and the use the the extra heads, I now can have have 6 Mythic Legions skeletons in my army.

I love being able to make a lot of the figures skeletons, goblins, or knights with all the spare parts.

I'm really anxious to get more of the basic legion builders so I can do more in depth customizing.

I've got some ideas with this set up as a start.

Remint stopped making them, so it's free market 2nd hand from here on out.

Has anybody here printed these? https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1543880

The sculpting of the skull (skullpting?) is a little soft, but they look pretty good overall.

don't bother

They're knockoffs, but they're not bad. I bought a bunch all in different colors for a couple $ each, search for "mr bones skeleton" and you'll find them much cheaper.

IIRC for this 3 pack someone comment some time ago that they weren't all that good considering there are bootlegs
