>>8315158not quite there yet
>>8316612The Siegfried fully armed is sexy as fuck.
>>8316828that black trim on the Kai is fucking hot. what's that stand you're using? I've been looking for alternative stands for my valks, any suggestions?
>>8316574No because it sold out almost immediately
>>8316970as it almost always is with Focker units
>>8316574>>8316970I didn't bother because it's the TV version and i already have the Hikaru Movie version 1S and for Roy I have a 1/60 Arcadia so i'm not too broken up about it.
>>8316577>Hasegawadoes anyone even into model kits in this here thread
>>8316574soldout , and what happened to macross world web site
>>8318011I've been tempted to get a Hasegawa VF-0S battroid but I never built kits by that company before so I'd probably fuck it up.
>>8318733I've handled strictly bandai plamo myself. they're pretty much as idiot-proof as you can get with model kits. any other brands are either too daunting to build or aren't as precisely engineered. haven't had experience with bandai macross kits though.
Reminder Bandai teased a bunch of Hi-Metal releases and will probably never sell them.
>>8316574Yes. First time I manage to po a Macross toy at the initial price. Now all I need is a DX VF-1J (preferably with the GBP armor) and a YF-19 fullset reissues.
>>8319068when was this? more pics?
>>8319068>YF-19>VF-0>VF-25WHERE THE HELL WAS THIS?
>>8319772nvm found it, old shots from 2015
>>8319068>Reminder Bandai teased a bunch of Hi-Metal releases and will probably never sell them.>Destroids never
>>8319068still mad about the tomahawk and phalanxwish i had been able to buy the old yamato ones
>>8319857The yamato tomahawk is a brick. it looks good but isn't a whole lot of fun to mess with. You aren't missing a whole lot aside from the size and some details anon. i wish the HMR one had come out because the HMR stuff is amazingly good for posing.
>>8319068I wanna see the Macross Zero HMR. imagine if we got the Zero era Monster
>>8320180That's just Destroids in general. I wish Bandai would stop wasting money on these and make new VF molds.
Where do you guys go for your VF toys? so far I've only bought from ebay. I know amazon also sells too, but are there places where you can find better deals?
>>8322817depends on where you live. >ebay>amazonI'm Asia-based, so those sites suck ass for me, considering the shipping fees etc. instead, getting stuff via japanese online stores is a viable option, personally. I normally use HobbySearch, Mandarake, or Mercari and middleman it through Buyee. Mercari especially has a good selection of new and barely-used bandai/yamacadia 1/60s and accessories (superparts, stands, missile packs), and a lot of gems in preferable prices if you know what to look for.
>>8322817Mandarake is good. You can sometimes get a really good deal since they sometimes heavily mark down an item if the box is beat up or missing a single accessory.
>>8323565Holy shit mandarake has some steals.I've been paying too much compared to this. Some of these prices are near retail.
>>8324208most of them are used stuff though, you can find new items with similar price on Mercari if you're the kind that prefers your toys untouched
>>8324238Though I'd usually prefer new I don't really mind the used status on stuff I've had a hard time looking for at non-rape prices. But the used ratings on mandarake for most of their vfs dont seem bad. Just a lot of ones woth packaging damage it seems.
>>8324208I don't know if US shipping is delayed still or not. Also does anyone own the VF-2SS HMR? Was thinking about picking it up.
>>8325183God this design is so cool, I love that it was the first VF to have some kind of remote weapons like funnels. The closest we've had since are the Lil Drakens in Delta, but I'm not inclined to call them that.
>>8326181The Lil Drakens act more like independent drones than 'funnels'. I'm not even sure how Macross II's Squire bits even work. There's no landing gear art for them and there's no where for them to dock onto the VF-2. They just show up in the first episode and never appear again.
>>8326472Still like a lot of the tech in Macross II that seems poorly thought out, it's still really cool.
>>8326472yeah ok I need a DX draken in these colors please
>>8327538this isn't real.>inb4 it iswhere do i get this>>8326181>funnelsthey're called drones, i believe. and Luca's ghosts are a better version of your pic.
>>8316574>>8308575>>8308583i pulled the trigger, /toy/. what should i expect?
>>8331827it's most likely a custom build of the 1/72 Delta model kit
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqcrKd3h3-wImagine buying a $300 paperweight.
>>8331897Fun transformations and a cool ELINT that I hope you have a stand for.
>>8333887>standfuck me, I gotta spend at least another 5k yen for that now. which one should I look for?
>>8333925Wow Arcadia is still making that old variable stand?! I still have mine from the Yamato days though I don't use it much because it can't really hold many poses besides straight up. The display stand on the left is pretty good from what I hear but if you want to keep things cheap give https://flightpose.com/ a look. I have my Elintseeker on the 4" stand, it's nothing fancy but it works.
>>8333996>US>item is $15>shipping is $50 to my doorI'll take the arcadia stand anon
>new pics up for upcoming arcadia release: VF-4A Hikaru Ichijo unitwho's hype?
>>8338782I love the dull grey of the VF-4G but this hits different
>>8338785>Release date: December 2020enough breathing time to spare i guess
>>8338782Does that mean the rights for FB2012 have escaped from limbo somehow? What changed between the original release and now? This really should have been the first vf-4
>>8338829I don't know what you mean. Arcadia has been doing SDF/DYRL releases since they were founded, I don't see how FB2012 would be any different, especially since they've released the VF-4G ages ago.
>>8338782Oh man, I've already got two Arcadia VF-4s and the Hi-Metal VF-4 Hikaru, but I'm so tempted by this. It's the best of both worlds; the great 1/60 mold and my favorite VF-4 color scheme!>>8338829I'm curious about what changed as well. I mean, we knew the rights had escaped limbo when the Hi-Metal was released. But I wonder what the exact hang-up was. I can't remember why exactly Yamato couldn't get the license back in the day, though.>>8338914Back when the VF-4 was first released by Yamato, it was explained that Yamato wasn't able to obtain the license for the FB2012 paint scheme. Hence why Yamato (and later Arcadia) went with the VF-X paint scheme for their VF-4.
>>8338782Oh man they finally got it, I'm in for sure!
>>8338849the VF-4's design is so pleasing to the eyes, like a lamborghini with wings
>>8342952>like a lamborghini with wingsKek, I agree its definitely up there for vf designs for me.
>>8343053definitely my personal top 3 alongside the YF-19 and the Draken.
>>8316574Macross/Robotech???Baka gaijin. Macross and robotech aren't the same thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Roboshit is crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
>>8345177It draws in the HG shills so we can laugh at them. Because you can’t be smart and support HG
>>8339165>>8340434>>8342952>>8343053This is now a VF-4 appreciation thread
I'm still not sure if I want to get the PF version from their website or just go for the standard model available everywhere.
>>8345177OP here. it's obvious bait so HG shills can come and get rekt. how else do we vent our fury towards HG? also I'm quite fond of Mospeada and Megazone 23, and they don't have a dedicated thread so why not accomodate them too since Macross fans will most likely know them one way or another.>>8345661right, carry on>>8345698I'm only planning to buy one VF-4 in my lifetime so might as well go the extra mile.
>>8346269Based. I really like the Battroid for this VF-4 the head is the one that til now only existed on the super scarce studio Halfeye one plus the Roy colors are hot.
>>8346803Oh come on nobody likes the vf-4 battroid. It's not a stretch to say the vf-4 has the worst battroid mode ever. Liking bad things on purpose just because they suck and aren't popular is not cool.
>>8346808Not him but I love the VF-4 battroid as much as the fighter mode. Gerwalk is the one mode that I don't really care for.
>>8346808Sheesh I actually do like it. I know it’s kinda weird looking but I think it’s got a certain feel. It reminds me of a knight or paladin with its broad shoulders and visor helmet. The legs have incredible pose ability too about the only thing bad about it is the kinda stubby arms. Otherwise it’s a unique and interesting design. Don’t speak for peoples opinions not everyone agrees and people have different tastes and aesthetics are highly subjective.
>>8346808Its by no means my favorite design but I still like it a lot more for its chunky proportions than the gangly battroids we got from frontier and delta.
>>8346808Believe it or not people like different things.I love the VF-4 Battroid, it's one of my favorites, the only downside to the design is how limited the shoulder articulation is due to the engine design.
>>8346808first off, it's way better than the VF-25 onwards which was just lazily designed with the obnoxious protruding wing backpacks. second, it's one of the few valkyries that can manage a transformation from a fighter design where the engines are far apart a la the SR-71 blackbird, and that's a laudable feat of engineering.>worst battroid mode everpic related says hi
>>8347156This Battroid is great, though. It's supposed to have different sensibilities closer to the Zentran/Meltran stuff, isn't it?
>>8347194you can't compare apples and oranges. regult and queadluun rae were built by zentradi with zentradi tech for zentradi use. valkyries are made by humans with human technology for human use. even if you argue that general galaxy (the manufacturer who designed the YF-21/VF-22) was led by a zentradi, it's still designed for humans to use. the fact that it differs greatly in design compared to its predecessors and successors (VF-14 Vampire, VF-17 Nightmare, VF-171 Nightmare+, YF-24 Evolution) which uses a more conventional, better proportioned approach to their designs, makes it stand out in a negative way (i.e. it's a shit design)
>>8347208The YF-21 is infamously test-piloted by a half-Zentradi, though. The VF-22 has a lot of Zentradi/half-zentradi pilots and a human who's spent so much flight time inside a Zentradi he might as well be one.
>>8347246>the fact that it differs greatly in design compared to its predecessors and successors which uses a more conventional and better proportioned approach to their designs makes it stand out in a negative wayargument still stands. unique ≠ good.
>>8347173Yeah, the idea behind the yf-21 was that designers from the human and zentradi sides came together to produce a VF that integrates zentradi technology. It's why the yf-21's battroid has a much more organic shape similar to the zentradi weapons seen in SDF.
