What do y'all think so far and what do ya hope to see going foward with the Amber Collection by Mattel?
>>8249422Found in Thialand
Not terribly interested in the Amber Collection action figures. I wish they'd focus on the Legacy Collection again and at the very least round off the JP cast with Tim, Lex, and Nedry - or finally make a Ford Explorer. Besides that, the new electronic T.rex looks really nice.
>>8249422Want Wheatly in 6in line would be great cause than they would have to make a 6in Indoraptor at 24in now I want that amd a cage to put it in lol
>>8249427Oh that's to bad wanted to get everyone on the hype train for it but yeah I'm not sure we'll see to much outside of exclusives but next year is movie year and that mean new sculpts hopefully for the line and hopefully they fully awaken the potential of the Legacy line
>>8249427Id like to see the Corthosaurus and Stegosaurus done right for the Legacy line personally and of course the Explorer hope the Shit that the Damn thing isn't an exclusive or some bull shit.
>>8249427I really wish Mattel would bring back big rubber figures and OG Kenner style Dino-damage
>>8249424Does that mean we get Echo too?Red raptor would look mighty nice
>>8249427>at the very least round off the JP cast with Tim, Lex, and Nedry - or finally make a Ford Explorer. That's all I want at this point. Ford Explorer, Nedry in his raincoat (since we have the SDCC version coming), Tim & Lex. Would take Gennaro the Lawyer and even Samuel L Jackson as well. All 1:18 scale.
>>8249422I really want to get a raptor but they aren't selling them here.
>>8249422Honestly I still hope Mattel has plans for Styggi and more humans maybe some ACU workers,Claire,Masrani(dude did just die), John Hammond,Roland Tembo,Robert Muldoon,Alan Grant, (how could we forget)Tim & Lex? (Both had more screen time than Goldbloom)Vic Hoskins,Barry,Ken Wheatly,Sara Harding,Udesky,Cooper,Deiter Stark and lots of Compies,Original JP Park worker.Etc.
>>8250023Were are you than?
>>8250029Not that guy, but I havent seen them at all in Canada.
>>8249422When are they going to make Amber indominus?
>>8250242Lots on amazon for retail $29.99 usd probably much more in Canadian but they have for $28 Blue, Charlie$29.99, and the OG JP raptor$29.99 Owen for $19.99 right now.
>>8250361The Colossal line is ment to scale with said line I believe
>>8250373Not related to the amber collection, but one of the reasons I love the Mattel line so much is that, for the most part, they scale so well with each other
>>8249422There is a Dinosaurs General already faggot, we don't need a jurassic General.
>>8250029Britfag, Zavi has some of the newer ones but other than that none of the other big online toy retailers have them.
>>8250824Suit yourself but we doin this
>>8250829So UK and Canada don't have Amber Collection figures around in the stores or online?
>>8250242I just want some raptors, why the fuck are they like $55 on amazon Canada
>>8249422This line should be killed. It's already absolutely half assed. The humans should be ass packed with accessories, the fact that Owen came with literally nothing besides his knife is beyond retarded. Where is a baby blue? His rifle? The tranq gun? A bucket with some dead rats to feed the raptors? This is the kind of shit that should be a given in a 6 inch collector focused line. Given the fact that the dinosaurs are more money anyway they might as well charge $10 more for the figures too and load them up. Why should I be surprised that another 1/12 line is a soulless cash grab with 0 fucking effort.
>>8249422oh shit, I haven't picked up Echo yet. Looking forward to more raptors though.
>>8249430Technically the Indoraptor figure we got (not the grabbing one) scales with Blue and the other Amber figures moderately well. Not the same articulation as them, but still great for a dinosaur figure. Not to say I'd turn my nose up at an Amber Indoraptor.
>>8251017I know your pain, was worth it though.
>>8251084Don't buy any of it then.
>>8251250A little too heavy handed on grant's features, and a complete loss of ellie's visage. Otherwise I like it.
To those of you who have the legacy collection Brachiosaurus, how the fuck do you display it? He’s stupid big. I’m tempted to remove the tail so I can put him against the wall.
>>8251388In addition to this, is there even a way to remove the tail/head without breaking them?
>>8251388>>8251390Well fuck me, after doing some research it looks like it’s impossible. And it’s huge. And I’ll have to walk into target with it under my arm to return it. Fuck.
>>8251425Can you not just cut near the base and just make a simple peg and hole for it so you can reattach it later?
>>8251450If really rather not cut the thing. If the head joint was more rigid I could make it fit in my room on top of a bookshelf, but it starts falling down unless it’s straight up.
>>8251463you're going to be kicking yourself for either mutilating it or not holding onto it because it will be worth a lot one day. store it behind your pants in your closet.
>>8251499I made it work using a hair tie around the neck joint. Please ignore the clusterfuck, I’m going to organize tomorrow.
>>8251247Seriously disturbed by the humanoid stance you put them in.
>>8249425Any shots of Nedry yet? want to see in hand before buying him.
>>8251936Yes, here ya go
>>8251905Feels right lol
Well anyone think Terror birds would make a good figure outside of Dinosaurs???
>>8251285The artist drew several 80s and 90s scifi movie scenes in a 90s-era style of anime, so that partly explains the faces.
>>8251905>”GET OFF! YOU’RE TOO HEAVY!”
>>8251930After she mauls you, you’ll definitely be inside her...
>>8253716You got me piqued. Artist's name? Link to pics?
>>8253659Some anon in the recently archived /customs/ thread is making a Gastornis from an amber raptor.
>>8253754Fuck yeah murderchocobos
>>8253754Ok, thats really cool honestly the guys are so underrated its not funny. They are just as cool as Dinosaurs in their own right imo. Why haven't we gotten a good Gastornis or >>8253841We totally want Murder Chocobros here1:12th scale or 1:6 would be awesome
>>8253754Anymore good pics on the project anon? Would love to see more
>>8253884Oh, got too excited lol
>>8253908>>8253884Want more.......Murder birds
>>8249422>>8249424Official Delta images
>>8255115Comes with a collar too
>>8255119Can't wait for Echo though, thats all for now
>>8255126Those rubber collars are the worst thing Mattel's ever done. They're almost impossible to stretch around the head, I was sure it was going to fucking rip apart.
>>8255215You made me literally laugh out loud. You’re 100% right. I tried using mine on Blue, but it looked so terrible no matter what way you put it on. I ended up just throwing it away.
>>8249422I have a couple of the JP1 raptors and they're pretty cool. But was making this line 6" a good idea? If the raptors are already pushing 30 bucks, I can't imagine how much something like a stego would cost.
You lot remember when at Toy Fair some other company showed off that they were making high detailed 1/12 scale raptors? Well looks like Chronicle Collectibles is still moving forward with it but are going to do a kickstarter for it.
>>8255378Mattel probably won't do anything bigger than these raptors and leave bigger species for the 3.75 in, and Colossal lines I'm sure Mattel is to cheap to go full 1:12 with the Jurassic line as much as I would like to see that.
>>8255409why are they making something we're already getting?
>>8255115>>actually has dark paint around the eyesCome on Mattel why didn't you do it before for Charlie?
>>8255409>>doesn't look like Blue, too expensive, who is even going to buy this?Seriously though
>>8255431Yes I'd be on board for Allosaurus,Indoraptor,Stegosaurus,Mosasaurus
>>8255431Yeah, they really should, we should campaign and petition through social media. It could work
>>8255421I think they could get away with an Alan Grant and triceratops two pack or eventual wave release but the trike would be expensive. Probably $50... Then a Muldoon, Sattler and Hammond with a Lost World repaint raptor or pachy. People would army build the tiger raptor. People would also army build a detailed articulated Gallimimus. On another note they could do Hammond and a multi pack of Compys. A lot of possibilities and all building up to the $100 t-rex
>>8255409I was just thinking about these last night, I want that Grant.
Is there going to be an Amber Collection T-rex any time soon?
Does anybody know if there exists a Dino or other monster that has a similar gimmick to pic related? I used to have this killer orange beast until I sold him off before college and I regret the shit outta it.
>>8255422>>8255433Imagine being this much of a fucking braindead poorfag that you would ask who would be interested in a figure that incredibly more detailed, better sculpted, and better painted. It will be great to have a raptor that actually has teeth and claws for example, instead of anthills and butter knives. I will be getting multiples of these and won't be touching this retarded half assed piss, I mean "amber" collection.
>>8255496>>8255590>>8255755>>8255409Bro we are in a new age finally were our statues are no longer statues but posable high quality models.God Bless whoever finally got this made into a reality now I'm looking forward to a Spinosaurus in the same scale
>>8255730The Super Colossal Rexy and Blue both do (as will the Indominus when it is released) but with hollow hard plastic throats and bodies with a trapdoor underbelly.
>>8255755Look at this beauty and accessories
>>8255755Getting Grant abd raptor or bunch o raptors???
>>8256899>>8256902Holy fuck. This will probably be almost $100 won't it? It's really pretty though.
>>8255755>wasting money on shit You’re the real fool here. >>8256912I’m pretty sure Grant is $220 and the raptor is at least 300
>>8256899That looks great, but the head articulation looks limited. Hopefully it’s just hidden or something. It’s unfortunately a deal breaker if it can’t move it’s head. :/
>>8251084It's why I've been skipping the humans and just been getting the dinos. The human figures are so underwhelming for the price they're asking for them.
>>8256899>>8256902These are the 1/6th ones. I think the 1/6th scale Grant has a better head sculpt, hopefully they worked on the 1/12th one between toyfair and now.
>>8256960>>8256912That's the price of THOSE because those are not 1/12.The 1/12s have no official store page yet.
>>8256960>Having money to spend as I choose on a superior product while you all trip over each other in Walmarts during riots to see if there's a new chap mei level dinosaur to be found
>>8255755But it has no feathers.
>>8256912$600+ for both not bad for 1/6scale not bad at all.
>>8250373Yeah, but the sculpts are soft, articulation sucks, and the paint apps are nearly non-existent.Give us an Amber Collection male T-Rex with proper green and yellow stripes, some heavy-duty ratchet joints for the legs, and throw an $80 price tag on it.People will pay if it's good.
>>8255409It won't be cheap, though. Chronicle already has a 1/6 Velociraptor in the works and they're charging $450. A 1/12 version will likely run for around $200.Their final product paint apps are also pretty subpar. If you're used to collecting Mattel and Hasbro, you'll still be impressed. If you collect high-end (which these prices absolutely are), it won't be worth it.I hope I'm wrong about that last part. The price won't come down, but they *can* improve their paintwork if they make a conscious effort.
>>8249448The Warpath colour scheme always gave me a boner
>>8258106I heard somewhere they were aiming for a $80 price point, but cant find anything through google...
>>8251250>Seems more western than anime
>>8256899his smile and optimism: gone
>>8258757>>8258106How long is this raptor gonna be?
wake me up when they make one with a cloaca
>>8258921there is one cmpany that actually does model cloacas on their dinosaur statues cant remember which one
>>8258941Papo, I think. CollectA is notorious for putting dong-sheathes on male mammal figures.
>>825891924in. Long and 12in tall.
>>8258941>>8259050Why is that now? Is it a necessary detail on figure? >>8258921
>>8257604>being a literal faggot Fuck you faggot. I hope it turns out to be shit.
>>8258941Hell yeah Papo do.
>>8259294Look at the poorfag get upsetIt's ok. There's no recourse for you. If you're in here you like dinosaur toys. If you had the money you'd get the obviously better one, but you don't so you lash out and try to cope with the fact that despite your love of dinosaur toys you can only afford the shit ones. It's ok. I understand.
>>8257604>>8259901Imagine being an elitist about dinosaur toys. Do the world a favor and kill yourself.
Thoughts on Marco Makes' Figures?
>>8261406His most recent Baryonx is nice though price for $100usd
>>8260293JURASSIC SIZED BURN
>>8260256Imagine being an adult that can't afford any hobbies besides those you can buy at a Walmart. In fact best stay out of the Lego isle too, those are getting pretty pricey.
Say, think we'll see a new and improved version of the Indoraptor at some point from Mattel or was 2018 the 1 and only time?
>>8263996There were technically two versions of Indoraptor, but no I don’t really think they’ll make another version. They may rerelease one of the old ones when the next movie comes out, probably as a box set deal, but they don’t really have a reason to make a whole new figure.
>>8264041I never want to see the SP Indo ever again unless its identical to the promo shots
>>8261408>All that shiny paint>$100Yeah, no
>>8264951I feel like he over charges just a bit.
>>8261408Looks like a $20 Mattel figure
>>8265460Oh but its rubber, flexable, and more proportionate than Mattel I suppose. Not sure if it makes it worth $100 $50 max but not a 100
>>8265656>>8265460>>8261408>>8261406You must understand there is a lot of work that goes into makeing these figure as well as cost of materials please understand that much
>>8265656Brah its like way more proportionate and more size appropriate than Mattel's roarivores
>>8255496I would probably get an amber collection LW raptor if it looked like the tiger one here
>>8265805Wow yeah I'd probably get a $30 toy if it looked like a $130 toy too
>>8261476that was beautiful.
Where were you when W-Dragon and Rebor got BTFO'd by Nanmu?
>>8267302>>8267302>>By honey, I'm late for work so I'll talk to you about that thing later. Love you xxoxxoxxo
>>8267302I hope he has a good day at work.
>>8267007>>8267302Ah man you got yours from EE already damn you lucky
>>8267498Can you show more angles? W-Dragon still has my business.
So, whats the Deal with Mattel's figure line presentation this year since SDCC is cancelled.
Anyone know when the pack with Hammond, Ellie, and the two legacy raptors come out? I really want to put the sign above these guys. Don’t care much about the figures
>>8268912what pack? Is it an exclusive?
Nanmu wins in overall sculpt and paint fidelity, plus you get semi-translucent teeth. The only place W-Dragon edges them out is on their female sculpt; she's a bit more accurate in shape to the JP1 Rexy, if that's what you're after.Nanmu's female isn't as accurate to Rexy, but depending on light conditions and whether you close the mouth (the middle-left photo), she may be able to pass.W-Dragon's male, I wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole.
>>8269030Not that anon but he's talking about this.
Honestly, I rather pick the amber collection line than a chronicle, they are way overpriced and have awful paint jobs
>>8269283do want. is it normal release or one of those limited online exclusives bullshit?
>>8269640Not sure, I think it's a "Legacy" release, rather than a limited "EE" or comic con exclusive. Regardless considering Mattel's shit distribution and low production of humans you might want to pre order to be on the safe side.
>>8269076You're absolutely right about W-Dragon's buck; I hope they get around to releasing a better one in their main scale one day. You're also dead on about how crisp the details of the Nanmu figures are, that and the teeth material is something I'm envious of them for. But my issue with the Nanmu figures is that the likenesses are always kind of off, but look fine in certain angles. The Rex looks like it was sculpted from a lower angle first, then fleshed out later.
>>8269784Its a Target Exclusive for the US, set for release this July going for $20 supposedly.
>>8269467Yeah, wouldn't it be neat if they did a JP3 raptir right
As far as Amber Collection figures go, I would like to see them do the Taxidermy raptor from the Lockwood Manor
>>8269983can it be preordered? Sorry for the questions I'm not in the US but I have used a freight forward shipoing before and I'm wondering if I'm gonna be able to use it with this. I already have Ellie but missed on Hammond. I could sell her or pretend Wu cloned her in one of his experiments.I hope Nedry is released "normally" too.
>>8261607haha imagine not having the money to buy $800 worth of dinosaur toys during a global pandemic and economic crisis haha what a fucking loser! amiright guys?
Not all dinosaurs in Jurassic park are female
dilo repaint finished
>>8270229Not yet, don't know what the situation is internationally, sorry. I'll let you know if I hear anything new.
>>8270229Probably not for another year if he does.
>>8272233>>8271289>>8267007>>8267302>>8249425As cool as the original Dilo. color scheme is, I personally would love to see it done in the JW:Lockwood Manor Dilo color scheme. For some reason the Colorsare very appealing.
>>8269983if this is only $20 I'll eat my own dick
>>8272247Please don't anon, that would be beyond messed up.
>>8272243i think the head shapes look too different, as well as the frill style
>>8272247One re-release, two statueshits, and a new figure.I can beileve that's $20, especially since the figures were like $8 with minifigures.
>>8272233Noice. How does the closed frill attach to the neck?
>>8272734both characters are reuses (one of which was a comic con exclusive) and both raptors are articulated. each of these figures go for about $7-8 so i’d say $20 is a good deal
>>8272885thanks! the head is attached via a ball joint and detaches from the base of the neck
>>8272734Mattel has to make that money. If its any consultation you can always wait and see if they keep it stocked till price drops or there's a sale in the fall.
>>8272945How does it look without any of the frill accessories?
>>8267901But SDCC is doing online panels, Mattel is doing a thing or two I beleive
>>8272247Work at Target, no it's $40
>>8275396I knew it, why can't I find it on brickseek than?
>>8275014But do you have to pay to get access to those or will it be available to all?
>>8269983$40? For this? What garbage.
>>8275415no clue, I simply heard discussions about it elsewhere on Youtube and heard mattel rattled off on the list.
>>8275459You mean Hell No! Why should we pay this much for a set a small plastic figures? What makes it even worth $20. If Mattel is serious about this than they really over estimate the Value of the product they're makeing.
>>8269983So does this mean that the Legacy line is continuing? and even though they are repacks, humans are technically still being made, which means only one thing>Franklin confirmed
>>8269983>$40 No thanks, I'll scalp my Nedry at this point.
>>8249422When do these come out? They look really sick. Are amber collection figures worth it? Mainly interested in raptors.
>>8277874Yes, absolutely every penny at msrp any way if you can go for it, they're amazing.Just received my Amber Dilo today.
>>8278156So is camp cretacious any good? It seems like the typical licensed netflix fodder. Just like the Fast and the Furious animated series.
>>8278079The raptors look really fucking sick. I feel like having a pack of the various kinds would be a great display to make
Is charlie from Lost world or is he part of the JW raptor pack? I recall the Lost World one's being brown.
>>8277874Read the filename - those two are custom repaints of the Amber Collection Blue, which is already out. I WISH they were real, though - I'd kill to have a good JP3 Male Raptor for my collection.
>>8278253Non of us could tell you it hasn't been released yet and nothing since the teaser trailer shown a year ago (can you believe this shit) has been shown. Just toys, toys toys. But no show, clips, tv spots, or official trailer has dropped yet.
>>8278512This is Charlie she is from the Jurassic World 2015 and is part of the raptor squad not TLW but she shares stripes with then orange tiger like raptors in TLW
>>8278434They're pretty neat blue looks the best because the scupt was esently made for her and base on her design doesn't look as great on the JP raptor cause it not the same body or head design unfortunately. If you were wondering about the Amber Collection JP3 style raptors >>8249422Those are customs not officially figures sadly we don't have official JP/// raptors yet but hopefully at some point we will and with the right sculpt. Anyway may of us generally highly recommend the Amber Collection Raptors and the line in general. Right now the Dilo is the hot topic at the moment due to a lack of a proper Dilo since the 90s at this point but younget the idea. In general the Amber Collection is has great detailing, insane poseabilty, and Generally looks good as a 1:12 line though we only have a few compared with the main line the colossal Rex and Indominus are pretty compatible with the Amber Collection figures if you have the space for figures that big.
>>8278512They were orange for sure my dude.
Just a reminder y'all these are customs not official figures If your any good at customs share please
>>8278514>>8278627Fuck I'm depressed these are incredible fucking customs. I'd kill for one

Is it against the law for them to make the Jungle Explorer?
>>8280841They would have to get an okay from Ford, since it's unlikely that they still have a brand deal with them.
>>8280861That's a fair point, but at the same time the original Kenner vehicle wasn't a ford hence the changes. I could see Mattel making a similar looking SUV with the glass roof and color scheme, I am sure we would be happy about it. Also Iron Studio made a replica so why not the Amber Collection then?

>>8283394Man I do really hope they drop the price on it like Walmart did w the Baryonx "playset" but Target isn't Walmart and its hard to find Jurassic on clearance unless its Sept. or March and who know if it will be around by than.
