Figured out the rest of the hand armature, now I gotta make 5 more fingers. I know it looks like there's 1 joint too many, the extra one's just for metacarpal rotation.

>>
File: Sherman assembly.jpg (136 KB, 720x540)
136 KB
136 KB JPG
>>8252893
That looks really good, I think. Can't wait to see the full assembly. As for the tanks, it's easy to stitch the tracks down. It's joining each assembled track unit to the body. Have to go through a narrow slot cut in the body lower side to stitch it, then it's stuffed, and the slot is closed, to then stuff the body. You can see the long narrow slot in the piece here, to the right of the assembled top. Haven't cut it open yet, or joined the tracks in. Lots of fiddly small tight corner work, and hand-stitching. End result looks good and stands without splaying, but getting there is a PITA.

Kitty's boot support is a non-woven stiff interfacing most commonly used to line the bottoms of purses. It's formable and stitchable. That's the outer structure, and inside that is reinforced piece of buckram (like for making hats) with a length of boning that goes up into the boot body. Very strong, very stable. All that is covered with Minky. Doesn't allow for ankle movement, but makes it easy to balance when posing, and she can stand upright.

I just finished this mothman today! This was my first time making a plush. and it turned out pretty good. I definitely need to sew the eyes and fluff on before the rest of him, next time I'll do it right.
>>
>>8253363
Those antennae are wonderful! Felt is so awesome for fine detail like that. And yeah, lot easier to apply the eyes first. Not to worry--there's a learning curve, but it isn't steep. Easiest order to do things--finish the small things first--arms, legs, wings, eyes, etc., then any darts or surface embroidery on the main body, then join the bits to the main body parts, then join the main body parts together.
>>
>>8253363
Very great!
>>
>>8253363
Aaaaa so cute! My only problem with felt is it attracts cat fur like no one's business hahah! I love this smol mothman so much! I really like the stitching on the legs!
>>
I have a shitton of plushies that I keep in my room, had some of them for years. Lately, I've developed a weird cough and I'm afraid it might be because of them. Right now I'm keeping them in front of my window trying to somewhat air them out and remove some of the dust. Anything else I could do?
>>
>>8250411
Those are different, where're they from?

>>8252893
What happened to the 3D-printed hands?

>>8252987
ur hardXcore
Also what got you into making tanks?

>>8253363
Excellent! Love the design, great use of fur, and I, too, like the antennae.

>>8255286
I'm no expert, but I'd imagine anything in the plushes got there from somewhere else, and thus is the cough is recent I might think something's gotten into your walls, your basement, etc. Have you moved recently? It could be that there's something nearby to which you're allergic.

Either way, if their tags are still intact, your plushes should have washing instructions on them.

Whew, finally done. Then I had to take it all apart for degreasing and final assembly. Waiting for the Locktite to cure now.

>>8252987
Thanks!

There's something really cartoonish about the image of a deflated, unstuffed tank. What do you use to strengthen the barrel?

Daaang, it must have taken so much trial and error to arrive at that method.

>>8253363
Omg the antennas are so cute. That's a really impressive first try

>>8255567
3D printer friend got swamped with IRL stuff + I wasn't happy with how fragile the fingers were at such a small scale. Fortunately I figured out a much easier way to make metal finger joints than my original method.

>rare plush I’ve never seen for sale before pops up on auction
>little crusty looking and no hang tag but decide to bid anyway
>me and one other dude end up in a bidding war for it that lasts for about 10 minutes
>once it gets to $90 CAD I give up and he wins
>5 months later another one that has the tag shows up for auction in a lot with several other plushes
>know I won’t win but put in a sniping bid anyway for the starting price which was like $40
>no one else bids and I win

This was the only vindication I’ve ever experienced in my years of plush collecting. The only problem now is that I have quite a few old Godzilla and Ultraman plushes I don’t really have room for. I’m too nervous to sell online and I know if I give them to my niece and nephew they won’t be taken care of.

My friend is looking for a specific plush but doesn't know the name. Can anyone tell me what this is?
>>
>>8276413
Looks like it's a Figi plush, maybe titled "My Prince" (Fat frog). I don't know if the company is still in business though. Their plushes often had a huge fat body, small head, and long legs. Pic is tag from a fat black and white cat by them. FAO Schwartz carried some of the Figi line, but not sure about the frog prince.
