Attention, please!

THE GREAT SUMMERTIME CLASSIC POLICEMAN GIVEAWAY CONTEST

is taking place right now! The prize is a CMF Classic Policeman minifig, mint in sealed bag, valued at almost twenty American dollars!

To win this contest, make a police-themed moc and post it in this thread along with a timestamp and email address. The one I like the best will receive a free CMF Classic Policeman! This contest is open to everyone in the world, and I will pay the shipping cost no matter where you live.

[DETAILS IN NEXT POST]

CONTEST SPECIFICS:

Your moc can be anything police-themed, including but not limited to:
>A Space Police spaceship
>An 8x8 vignette of a City Police scene
>A modern recreation of a classic Police set
>a Castle-themed town guard diorama
>A recognizably former peace officer who wanders the wasteland in his souped-up cruiser

The only other rule is that your moc must be new (as in, not something you've already made).

This contest will end at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Saturday, July 11. Have fun!

Why is the exterior of this so bland? Such a good interior but most of the time it's not going to be open in a city so it feels like a waste.
>>
>>8246110
The exterior looks passable, but lacks the oomph factor. Even the Hidden Side castle sets have more flair.

>>8246120
Yeah but it's just "passable". It shouldn't be passable for 250$. The colors are really boring too. No splashes of color anywhere. I just feel like this was the first prototype they thought of and just kinda didn't want to work on it. The new Hidden Side castle has more exciting colors and way better minifigures. The worst part for me was the figures. Not only are they all re-used pieces but they come in the same combination they came in other sets.
>>
>>8246110
yeah, it's pretty shit. The edges bother me the most. stacking 1x1 bircks and 1x1 round plates is the laziest and ugliest way to achieve those. Actually in a lot of places they went with the most obvious and boring option. In such an expensive set I expect better.

No, that's not entirely true. Most sets have printed elements included, but stuff like Voltron and the Friends set have stickers as well as prints.

Honestly the only thing I could imagine being stickers on that castle are the two flags. Shields and Horse sidings have always been printed for like the last 30-40 years

One has chrome exhaust and bumper, other one has working suspension and towing hook. Rollbar and fender flares (or whatever you call these wide extensions) seems to be just driver's customization too. Overall body shape looks like same car.

Hey guys
I recently bought some Lego scale weapons from Aliexpress, and I was wondering what is the best way to make the handles a little bit thinner, because they are pretty big, even too big for the Lego minifigs, and I'm sure that they would break Mega's hand molds easily after a while.
Would using sandpaper and then smoothing it be a good idea?
I have 3 x 10 wep sets so I don't want to experiment TOO MUCH less I break them.

10k isn't that many in the end, show probably has even more fans and creator or some other people just shill it to them. 10000 isn't just enough, even if they were guaranteed customers. Set like this can't have world wide appeal, which is wht Lego as a global company would want.

It does, but I built the structure in a way that makes it hard to photograph well inside. At some point, I'll work out a way to open up the back wall. I'm still working on the decorating inside, but there are some little details that I added. Mostly just waiting on a BrickLink order that was supposedly shipped, but I never got an email saying so or a tracking number and it's been quite some time. During this time, I've been working on giving the house a lawn and fence as well as a making it able to land there as if it were a space ship since I built thrusters on the bottom. I might have to upgrade from a 16x16 stud platform to something larger. Hopefully I have one in green.

Why? Why would you put up a listing requesting minifigs when you KNOW you have to wait 1-2 weeks to actually purchase them? This isn't them responding to my listing and wanting to put the ones I listed on hold. That would at least make sense. They're actually putting up a post saying "I want these figure if you have them" and it turns out they can't even purchase them for 1-2 weeks? Why not put up the listing in 1-2 weeks when you know you can purchase them ASAP?

I got 32 sets (some duplicates) for $600 CAD (shipped to me for free) - a ~$900 CAD value on Bricklink going off of 6 mth average, so I profited bigly (feels kinda weird buying a deceased person's Lego, honestly)

I also found another guy selling the Sentai Fortress & 2 other sets for $100 CAD which is fucking sick, so I bought that as well; on top of that I got another Mobile Assault Tank, Sentry & River Dragon from ANOTHER guy for ~$40 CAD, the tank is incomplete (no figs) and the River Dragon is missing the fan parts of the mech, but it's not a big deal; the River Dragon is my favourite Exo-Force mech

(Pic related, some of the sets from the 32 set lot)
>>
>>8251199
I also found a brand new, sealed Paradisa 6416 - Poolside Paradise for $280 USD (~$100 USD less than it goes for sealed, let alone in this condition on Bricklink) on eBay, the seller had it for $325 and I lowballed an offer that they accepted; the box is immaculate, and I don't know if I'm ever going to open it... I think I'm one of the handful of people in the world who own one of these sets in new, sealed condition lol (pic related)

>it's another "MOC city layout featuring a police station, a fire station, a hospital, a gas station, a single skyscraper, and a bunch of small nondescript buildings" episode
What the fuck is this about? Where are the bars and casinos, the theaters and the entertainment buildings, sports buildings or facilities or parks or fields? Why when you seemingly have all the bricks in the world you restrict yourself to the same three themes LEGO already produces buildings for annually?

As someone who has taken part in contests with pretty involved builds, I would happily vote for Bendryx. There's a lot of people who put far too much weight on things like followers and contest wins and this would be a nice reminder. Also it's not like the really good mocs go completely unappreciated, they just might not become the canon form of an irrelevant character in a years dead franchise.

Lego needs more designers in their company, the best designers only do stuff once a year and the stuff they make stands out from the other sets. It's a multi-million dollar company that doesn't have that many designers and only has like 10 people constantly designing sets. Get some teens 15-16 to make you some sets so you can understand what they like and see it from their viewpoint, go hire 50 year olds to see what they like. And maybe someone in that company is intelligent enough to get rid of those fucking city helicopters.

Why not hire hundreds of young designers and then *teach* them to work under pressure? Instead of 50 designers working on 100 sets, why not hire 200~ designers and let them team up and projects AND give them time. Could you imagine working for 8 years and they put you as the lead designer for City or Star Wars. Lego in 2000-10s were way into hiring young people but now it's just adults buying Star Wars and Marvel constantly. There are like 7 people in that company who truly give a shit about imagination and they design sets every year or two.

I was expecting this actually considering Mega's hands are smaller, I'm not paying 20$ for 10 Jewarms guns when I can get 30 for 5$

Star Wars = Marvel >>>>>> Batman etc.

Atleast Batman is pretty based. He actually had a good movie.

3 good movies in ~90 years of existing doesn't make him better than any other capeshit
If that's your logic then Spider-Man should be with Batman because of the Tobey Maguire trilogy

Oh, i don't consider the Spiderman movies good except Spiderverse and Marvel fans dont care about that. Atleast Batman had both great Lego sets and a amazing movie to go with it.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to second Monster Fighters 2. Thankfully, I was able to get the best set (Lord Vampyre's Castle) for pretty cheap off Bricklink, so I am...satisfied.

Vikings is another one, but it's kind of an iffy case. I managed to get a set (the Nidhogg) while it was still out in stores and I liked it, but being as I was in college, I really was in no position to seriously get back into LEGO. So I missed out on the whole theme and all the cool sets it came with. And I lost the dragon and the minifigs it came with anyway, so now I got nothing. :(

I have an entry, I wanted to include a cute, alien, girl criminal but I suck at custom minifigs

Yeah, and the comic also connects Pharaoh's Quest too. Dino connects to Aventurers (Josh Thunder is a relative of Johnny's, and Adventurers links to Scooby Doo as well) and Ultra Agents connects to Ninjago (Toxitica and Invizable are Elemental Masters in Ninjago). Ninjago then connects to Chima (Chima is another dimension that's referenced), Clutch Powers, and Max from the Lego Club. Clutch Power then connects Fantasy Era Castle, Mars Mission, Space Police III (which has a statue figure in one set of a Classic Spaceman, thereby linking Classic Space too), City, Agents, and Power Miners again. But Max pretty much links all the themes as he's shown to be some sort of demi-god as he observes the many Lego themes through his dimension portal. He can be connected to every theme since 2008, or at least tangibly to most of them - though some of them are concrete, like the Ninjago + Nexo Knights + City + CMFs crossover comic which he starred in. I should make a thread on /lego/ at some point with all this deep lore.

>Max pretty much links all the themes
Does he count as “canon” being that the lego club magazines threw all of the lines together in comics and what not? Idk, it doesn’t seem as concrete as the classic lego space man statue or the dead aqua raider. Maybe it’s an expanded universe sort of situation? Also, what’s up with the evil bloodline of red eyed people (troll witch, skeleton necromancer, alpha team guy etc.)?

Lego canon has always existed on the principle that all themes co-exist, so I'd take it as so. Way back when Lego Island was made, other themes existed on different islands - for example there was a KKI island with all the KKI characters. But yeah he hasn't been introduced into the 'primary' canon yet, so I could see why you might not include him.
>Also, what’s up with the evil bloodline of red eyed people (troll witch, skeleton necromancer, alpha team guy etc.)?
No idea if they're connected, but Ogel from Alpha Team is the descendant of Lord Vladek from KKII, which was confirmed in an online interview for lego.com
