Yeah, you're right. For 10 bucks guess I can't complain. Thanks for the heads up, bought. I also had a browse through their weak excuse for a "sale" and these were the only decent things on offer.

Oh Hell yeah, that takes some pressure off me
>>
>>10741206
Most things seem to be 10%, if at most 20% off. Not much of a sale. The human from the Muga is also 90%, but I've no interest. The other robot from the series is also on a steep discount, but I don't like the design as much, so no need to go in on it now. Maybe if it likewise hits 90%.

I wish we'd get A.N.I.M.E. releases of super robots. I detest diecast and gokins seem to be the only figures they get. Revoltech used to fill that niche, but they mostly do capeshit nowadays.
>>
>>10741936
Unfortunately I think most super robots are so niche they only go for the high end collectors. Action Toys does RD equivalents of super robots but the releases have been really sparse and they actually cancelled their mazinger. I am definitely buying their voltrons whenever they actually put them up for preorder though, I got the voltes and it is great, its got no partsforming other than the hands and his sword obviously, which is pretty nice given the figure being about RD height.

>>
>>10741009
Probably the Zeta line. I'm not a huge sucker for Zeta-era suits, but I'll pick up whatever suits that Kamille and Char piloted, and my favorite Titans suits. Shouldn't be too heavy on the wallet.
I'd be really interested in the G Witch line, they showed the Dilanza with the SHF Guel. All the fancy effect parts they've been showing off at other shows are cool too, but they don't seem committed to anything other than Suletta's suits for now.

>>10742440
I'm sure once we get closer pics and promo pics closer to release we'll see the differences. I don't have the older Rick Dias, but I do have the Zeta and I gotta say it moves pretty well, the new one would have to be real fancy to get me to pick it up.

Post wishlists.
Surprisingly, turns out I want way less than I thought. I always dreaded the notion of Zeta A.N.I.M.E. because I had the impression that I would buy almost every single MS from the series.
Z-MSV, however, I do want almost everything from. Though, only if they actually look like Fujita's settei illustrations.

The Kampfer is somewhat justified considering the huge amount of weaponry it comes with, and apparently it has the highest amount of diecast in the line.

A lucky find was had, and was able to make my RD Strelitzia complete finally; with the missing "tricorne" hat piece off a dumped one that'd yellowed pretty badly(currently in a UV HP bath) with the heaviest cigarettes smell I've encountered yet.

Also the Aerial Rebuild I finally got just bit before the surprise find, and a question if anyone knows what the yellow 'fin' parts on the thruster pack were supposed to do in function?

>>10742368

Just love the level of chunk in these, like the Hizack in EFF colours more; but will be picking up at least one of these up when the pre-orders open. Rick Dias I do hope we get the standard colours type, even if almost guaranteed a webshop exclusive.

>>10741009
More a Wishlist like >>10743255, but want to see more non-Gundams and grunts. After seeing the proportions on the Hizack can't wait to see a possible Dijeh, Baund Doc, and Byalant.
>>
>>10744579
Id say the huge amount of weaponry shouldnt be a plus at all but a given considering this is a premium priced item. The astreas, exia, and xbones has a ton of shit off the top of my head.
>>
>>10743255

I remembered why I don’t like Zeta; other than the MkII I can’t stand these designs
>>
>>10744775
I was the same way for a while. The zeta designs didn't click for me until I saw the way certain artists rendered them, or how some gunpla modelers approached them.
The titans MS are all over the place though which I think is a bit of an issue, they lack the uniformity you'd expect from a military faction.
Zeon MS in the original series didn't have this issue. Although some of them were pretty goofy and had strange gimmicks there was a strong sense of cohesion.
Gundam Unicorn did a decent job at making some of the designs like the Byarlant and Asshimar look like they fit into a federation-derived aesthetic.
>>
>>10744747
It's pretty bullshit, the barebones releases are around 250 these days and there's no way they'd offer almost twice as much toy in accessory volume at "only" 300. The MRDs are as expensive as MBs were just 2 years ago! I paid 18k for my Exia Devise, which had a cool backpack with sub-arms and that big ass sword! Now MRDs are the same price and any MB with more than 2 accessories is gonna be over 30k. I'm a huge 00fag so if they ever hit up Kyrios and Virtue I'll probably cough up the money for it, but I'm pretty tapped out of both lines at this point. RDs are starting to push it, but at least general releases go below retail pretty quickly.

>>10744722
The yellow fins stuck out when the thrusters are activated I'm pretty sure. Personally I think it's pretty ugly with them sticking out so I just keep them tucked in for a little yellow accent.

It really is barebonesish with a huge price jump.
Hi nu is way too much for what it is worth as a general release and dont get me started on the latest few p-bandai MB. The metal composites are getting up there too sadly.
I will break and be a bitch if they decide to release a gohst gundam MB since the xbones are some of my favorite designs despite my dislike for the lanky feelings MBs. I already got nearly all my favorite gundam designs as a mb so it hurts less missing a release now.
>>
>>10744918
Yeah the Hi Nu was incredibly disappointing, and after two runs and QC issues it sat in stock in a lot of places for a while. I wound up getting it stateside for 360 altogether and felt pretty bad about it when I saw random purple marks on the rifle, over the feet, really sucked the joy out of the toy for me and I was pretty cautious about the line with these issues at that pricepoint, but if they do suits I love I'm gonna cave.
I don't have any of crossbones myself, I know one of the releases wasn't too expensive on the aftermarket. The X-1 I think, but not the full cloth? If I remember the full cloth was p-bandai at some outrageous price
>>

I had to go back to the 1985 lineart for Zeta to see how these designs had changed over 38 years.

The changes made by gunpla to these designs over the years can make you forget what the original designs looked like. The Hi-zack in >>10744231

Cant believe i got priced out of metal builds and model kits.
>>
>>10747754
oh fuck they are making the Banpreios? holy shit
>SMP
yeah no, this will be a p-bandai and overpriced as shit
the previous SRX was fucking bullshit as they made the R-2 and R-3 a p bandai exclusive bundle and on top of that there was another exclusive effect parts set for you to display either the individual R series with all their stuff or the ultimate SRX full burst version, it was ridiculous, to the point the Sentinel brick was cheaper
>>
>>10743978
tell me why i should not buy the lancelot?
ps. money is not an issue.
>>
>>10748040
I mean there isn’t necessarily any reason to not buy it, it’s more that BBTS has a higher markup than many other middlemen/online retailers. You can get it for cheaper, I’ve seen a few listings around $270 which is much closer to the actual conversion rate, but that’s not factoring in shipping. I got my Guren from BBTS since it was already sold out pretty much everywhere else (BBTS had their listing up a month late) before I had the budget to grab it, and I had store credit to burn. BBTS will probably have the PO in stock until release (byproduct of charging more than their competitors) so if you’re a latecomer it’s an option. If money is not an issue at all for you, BBTS is fine service-wise, they just tend to get figures, especially imports, a couple months later than everyone else. If you can find it for cheaper, don’t bother, but if you don’t care then go for it. Just be glad this is a retail release in the US, BBTS’ markups on P-Bandai releases are utterly deranged (the MRD Prototype ZZ is up for nearly the same price as the Lancelot is, for instance).
>>
>>10747754
SMP is ridiculously overpriced for what it is and banpreios has none of the engineering the SRX did, they are just charging this because its huge and ultimately something few people would buy even at half the price; SRX was already a niche product, this is even more so. They know the only people who want this thing will pay out the ass for it.
>>
>>10748077
oh i was expecting more about the design/gimmick etc not being good. is this mb poseable?
>>
>>10747754
The SRX is a nice kit and it's great it can do so much between all 4 robots and the combined form, it's just niche and expensive and as >>10747887 said, splitting it across 3 sets didn't help matters. You are getting a lot of parts and pre-painted bits, and way too many effect parts but the price is crazy.
I'm still also crazy enough to get Banpreios despite the price, I really enjoyed building the SRX and it's a miracle we're getting Banpreios from anyone, let alone Bandai themselves.

Metal Builds are always fully articulated, but diecast joints means that regular handling isn’t advisable. With regards to the CG MB line, the Guren was great with the only real issue being the shitty stand connector (and at least on my copy detaching the inner wing effect parts is scary as shit and I nicked one of the nubs first time around). Metal Builds as a whole have been subject to substantial price hikes in recent years, so it’s really about whether or not a 1/100 diecast figure is worth the price of admission to you.

I'm in the market for transformable & anime accurate figures of Com-Battler V and Voltes V.
Could anyone confirm that both SOC GX-50 and DX SOC Com-Battler V have perfect transformations (with nothing to remove/add between modes) while the DX SOC Voltes V is the only one with a perfect transformation please? Also is there anything wrong with any of these three figures? Anything that would make one of the Com-Battler V objectively better than the other?

The DX SOC Combattler V is bigger, has the sound and light up gimmicks, and more well put together than its previous GX version. If you're going to get one, get that. Same goes for the DX SOC Voltes V.

It's a massive display piece, they had it in a no-photo zone back in like 2016 when the ANIME line first took off. If they released one I doubt they'd release this massive one, we'd probably get some pissy scaled down one that's still pretty big but not so huge.

I did forget, and looking at pics the Big Zam is definitely bigger. Even with the skinnier legs taking up less plastic on the lower half, the Destroid Monster was 40cm long at the cannons, and the Big Zam looks around 50cm or more compared to the Zaku next to it, which is around 12cm. The Big Zam would be a 50k release minimum, P-Bandai, if it even happened.

It's a massive pain in the ass, yes. I gave up and just went bit-on mode, I think the RD looks great with it and the stands are tight as a bitch, long as fuck, I don't feel like I can easily recreate any formations from the anime, it's just dumb. But yeah, heat it up first.

I'm just pointing out that Bandai has done the batshit insane move in the past, a limited release for super collectors who can afford the room space for something furniture sized isn't without precedent.

But it's definitely going to be for hard-core collector superfan types. That's how it went with the Monster, that thing was most certainly not meant to be part of a casual collection with its size.

Congrats on the find! AP Vierres is a heavy favourite of the RD Collection, just gets beat by the TV Vierres by a bit with the more-fun-as-a-toy design for me. Just a bit of a heads up, middle set of the wings were very scary to pop off after these initial pics; so wouldn't attach the wings on this one unless you plan to always leave them attached I'm sorry...

Got a cheapy Botune on the way, and looking at the Sirbine (shield ver.) or Bellvine next.

>>10752659
Most JP/import sites that'll still be selling them online will mark either one in some way. Most reliable I think though for you is Mandarake. They got a few with "fixed/revised" in the AD title, and are going for 5-5.5k Yen.

Personally considering picking up a few of these 'error' body one with the prices they're going for amoung the JP collectors that missed the exchange window I guess? Get a small squad and one to franken mod maybe hahaha!

I hope that shield attachment could rotate the shield so it doesn't have the elbow shield syndrome. Will decide once reviews are out. I will at least get all the Gen 1.5 MS up to Galbaldy Beta and GM II.

>>10753477
all the dunbine line's wings are pretty scary to me, i wish they had the wings plug in on seperate, non-clear pieces with the ball joints on those, instead of having clear plastic ball joints. I haven't put them on most of mine as it makes storing them away nerve wracking as clear plastic really shouldn't be subjected to that kind of stress repeatedly.
>>
>>10753122

regular RD. Based off some old art that depicted the Dunbine a bit fancier and more detailed than it looked in the series.

OK this is a first: dx vf31J kai came in, and somehow the connector that the heel armor attaches to (that swing arm with a ball joint tip) was installed upside down on one of the feet, making it impossible to have that armor be flush with the rest of the leg.

There are visible screws in the foot assembly, but I've never heard of anyone taking apart a DX 31 before. Should I chance it and see if I can fix this, or at worst cannibalize a properly assembled foot from another 31? It's not unbearable, if I raise the armor on the correctly assembled heel then it makes it look consistent with the bum heel, but it's still a pretty cursed manufacturing defect.
>>
>>10756424
I took apart my VF-19 advance's hip joint because it was too tight and it's pretty fine now, though I've noticed the hip is a bit looser.
As long as the part you're taking apart is only being held with screws and not glue or anything you should be fine?
>>
What's the safest and most effective lubricant for MBs and MRDs? I have essentially frozen joints on my MB Amatsu Mina (right ankle) and MRD Destiny (knees and the hip-thigh connection).

On the other hand, what's the ideal solution for loose MB/MRD joints?
>>
>>10756944

He looks great but 10k? Come on. The Aegis I could give a pass on due to the transformation gimmick and big backpack shit, but this is a pretty standard spread. I wonder if the SEED releases shelfwarming are making them want to produce fewer units, and the slightly higher cost is to maintain profit margin or something. There's no way this is the new normal, we just got that Blue Destiny GM at 8k like 2 months ago, the Mk II was only 7500 and came with a lot more. Even when Bandai wants to hike up standard prices it's not gonna be a 30% increase from one release to the next. We'll see with the following Zeta releases I suppose.

Yeah that's nothing unusual, anyone with a 19 gets familiar with the hip assembly and how God awfully tight that is out of box.

But I dunno where these screws will take me on a 31, I guess someone's gotta brave it though? Just gotta find my JIS screw bits before fucking the screws up.

ABSOMEC LED Mirage incoming?

Guess I'll wait on a sale then, hopefully the slot on its back that the backpack connects to is the same as the Strike and the Duel just to slap him with some Striker Packs. Funny how it kinda follows the MG kits in that regard.

Bad news: that pivoting ball arm on the heel is pinned into the foot assembly with one of those cursed rolled spring pin things.

Good news: using a VF31A Kairos I honestly overpaid for way back as a donor (I was considering getting a second if the opportunity presented itself since it's been kinda a floppy flop ever since getting it, anyway), it looks like I'll have successfully foot surgery my 31J Kai into proper form. Turns out there's two cruciform screws at the foot where it meets the ball joint for controlling joint tightness, so it all pops off surprisingly clean.

That being said, anyone have any familiarity with popping those rolled pin things, in case I want to try flipping the piece around for real?

I don't have anywhere better to ask: How are CCSTOYS Mortal Mind figures? I'm tempted by their upcoming Gunbuster 35th Anniversary figure.
>>
>>10758212
Incredibly good, especially for the price. Gurren Lagann is their "worst" one and that's only because some got copies where the legs were just a bit too easy to move and the face paint was fused with the helmet preventing the faces from being changed. Everything else they did was pretty much perfect in terms of quality.
>>
>>10758269
The cybuster they just released seems to be a QC lottery too. But it looks gorgeous and the price tag isn't bad so long as you are willing to live with leaving it on its stand.

Eh, at 8k it's still like 50 bucks for the fig so I've been okay with it. If I like what I see I'm usually willing to pay the price tag if I don't think it's too egregious, which I know is a different line for everybody.

Looking at the aftermarket for this guy is genuinely eye-watering. Freedom, Destiny, and SF are the only other (non-convention exclusive) MBs I’ve seen command such a markup. I kind of still want it but the chances of a rerelease are next to zero. The Dynames R3 released alongside it is nowhere near as bad, hell I think might actually be the most expensive MB Exia on the market.
>>
>>10760238
MRD Infinite Justice, MRD Providence, MB Strike Noir (minus my bad luck with the hands), MB Astraea Type-X, and the Ka Sig Gundam Mark V (Marking Plus version) are probably my favorite dudes I have so far. While it’s not quite my favorite, the MB Freedom 2.0 is an absolutely gorgeous figure, and all of the MRD IBO figures are honorable mentions.

The Dynames Devise. The Dynames itself has been my favorite Gundam since 00 released, so getting a MB of it that looks absolutely gorgeous with all the features I could ask for is great. Setting aside my personal bias for Dynames, the runner-up is the Astraea Type-F metal build. The aftermarket isn't great but it just comes packed with so much shit it's amazing. The display options are just innumerable. For the regular RD line, I think the Heavy Gundam does it for me. It's my favorite of the Full Armor variants for the RX-78 and the figure itself has the rock solid RX-78 as a base with that sweet mounted arm cannon.

Any signs of more WFM releases? So many cool suit designs. Wasnt the show super popular?
>>
>>10761717
At some event a couple months ago they rolled a bunch of WFM RD prototypes back out and showed off a few more. At Tamashii Nations they had the Dilanza proto with the SHF Guel they showed off. Seems likely to me.
It's also popular in a similar fashion to SEED. With SEED, it's less that the show as a whole is popular, and more that Kira is popular. With WFM, Suletta and Miorine drive the sales. The fact that Aerial Rebuil and Calibarn were both P-Bandai had me thinking we wouldn't get much else, until they showed off again not too long ago.

>>
>>10761879
There's some things I like about it but putting the gund bits on the stand is a fucking nightmare, both to just get them on it, and to get them into a good pose. I like the RD a lot for the bit-on form, the bits having ball joints to pegs gives the bits on the thighs, forearms, and ass a lot of room to wiggle around. I especially like it for the ass, being able to lift and rotate in more dimensions than just outwards is huge. The Rebuild uses the same exact parts for floating gund bits so I just put it in fuckhuge gun mode and it looks pretty good. The Calibarn I won't bother with the bits at all and just have it at Permet 5 with the broom cannon.
Still, a poor figure for anyone who wants the gund bits flying around, and for the model kits it's annoying to have to buy multiples of the weapon display stand sets. All around poor options.

Biased with these ones, but easily would be my Yamato 1/24 Ingrams; but if I need to be specific Unit-01/Alphonse. Pic of Unit-02 though as they're almost a myth now at this point.

Special memory of getting my first real job(s) as a Canadian Tire stock clerk and some day-temp agency work to be able get the Alphonse when that was listed in 'Previews!' Them messing up and charging my LCS like it was the Bandai MG with LEDs kit for some reason, which in turn let me put the saved difference towards the just released Unit-02(that I thought no way in hell I could afford with the original prices these went for) off HLJ; that was just eye watering with the then CAD-to-Yen exchange at like $360 before the UPS shipping...

That said, was my first high-end collectable toy, that has been a lot of fun to just pick up and play with whenever. Just need to refurbish torn pleather, worn/scratched paint sections; and copy the superior or updated way ThreeZero handled the patrol LEDs hahaha!
