How are we feeling about this?>The return of Pippin Reed and Harry Kane>Locomotive looks like shit, and does look any real locomotive that pulled the Orient Express, due to executive meddling>Actually minifigure scale unlike the Hogwarts Express>I don't think it can be motorized because it looks like it can't take turns>Female bartender in the 1920s, Lego's wokeness strikes again
>>10738871Should've been a Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning tie in set
>>10738871Train fans are among the most paypig-like demographics in existence, and I don't think "normal" people are that into trains in the first place, so I don't see much ground for the argument about lego getting new people in with this set. I think they should've made a super elaborate and expensive specialty train with inflated price instead so they could cash in all the autists' chips.
>>10738871Should have quiet Murder on the OE references.
>>10738861>found a youtuber who creates sick alternative builds>his videos are basically a visual instruction, despite his big ass thump getting the way sometimes but it is manageable>no parts list thoughThere are times when I couldn't for the life of me recognize which part he just used. Is there a software that I can use to generate / search for parts?
why didn't they give him a gun?
>>10738880Why the fuck did Sonic Team give him guns?
>>10738871>Female bartender in the 1920sat least it isn't a black womanlegit made me kek that nearly every female stormtrooper in star wars sets is a black woman
>>10738878That isn't even an alt-build.
>>10738884they wanted the Ratchet and Clank audience
>>10738895Shadow was when I dropped the series completely but I still love Shadow because of my inner chuuni. I wonder what parts would maks a good Maria minifig. Disney Alice's hair maybe
>>10738863They were thinking "we need a way to visually communicate that mario does not come with this set, in addition to all the text"
>>10738890>nearly every female stormtrooper in star wars sets is a black womanhttps://ia600600.us.archive.org/31/items/TerryADavis_TempleOS_Archive/fan%20media/videos/WAVE%20Media%20%28UCS6VcvWlN_FVihpQTIGr8mA%29/20190327%20-%20eoEQ563wSAY%20-%20Terry%20A.%20Davis%20-%20The%20Nigger%20Cattle%20Ultimatum/20190327%20-%20eoEQ563wSAY%20-%20Terry%20A.%20Davis%20-%20The%20Nigger%20Cattle%20Ultimatum.mkv
>>10738863It's to show he's not in the set. I think this line is the first time they've included Lego parts in the main image that aren't in the set, they used to be strict about not showing anything that isn't included.
>>10738894
>>10738871Let’s see what the real train autists have to say.
>>10738871I warmed up a bit to the loco now that we've got clearer pictures, and I like it in the sense that it's supposed to be more of an Emerald Night 2 than any particular Orient Express locomotive. I'm gonna at the least mod on some smoke deflectors and make it more like pic related. I'm also fine with no Power Functions compatibility being built in since I was probably always gonna just make a powered luggage car for the thing. Figs are cool and the dark blue train doors are sexy. Overall very pleased with how it turned out. >>10738873The thing with Train Simulator DLC is that you're not supposed to buy all $10000+ worth of DLC that's out there, you buy it piecemeal based on what trains and routes you like. Someone with an interested in British steam isn't going to have any interest in a DLC based on a modern day diesel route in America's southwest. There's also $10000+ worth of DLC only because the DLC from 2010 is still compatible with the newest version of the game in 2023 instead of making a new edition of the game every year like FIFA or Call of Duty do making you rebuy everything.

>>10739106mom said it was MY turn on the xbox playstation
>>10738871>Ping Pong Table>A-frame cabin>Blacksmith Workshop>and now thisLEGO has been pulling off these bait-and-switch over Lego Ideas which makes you think is there even a point in this line anymore?
>>10739157i mean the Football table for the first one, but yeah the point still stands.
>>10739157What do you mean?
>>10739162ideas sets get completely changed from their original concept into something far inferior for no real reason
>>10739162people voted the Orient Express for the French Locomotive in the original submission. changing it into a cartoonishly small engine that looking nothing like the original is just scummy so i understand the backlash towards it.
>>10738871quality Chink product as usual
>>10738884Apparently lots of fans wrote letters asking for sonic to have a gun, sega didn’t like that but shadow was really popular when sa2 came out and they felt that guns would fit him better so they combined the two for his game.
>>10739167>>10739174Okay, I see what you mean now. I'm trying real hard not to bootlick Lego but I do feel that their official sets are generally better than the submissions. The problem is that most Ideas submissions are made digitally and the football table submission is a borderline impossible design in physical practicality. That being said the official model is still pretty awful for the price.Personally I thought the Blacksmith set was a step up from the submission. The colors and proportions are just more appealing to me but I can understand the disappointment of some. I can't really speak much on the others since I don't own them.
These two are pretty great (though Z-Blob styles on Bunchu) its a shame the rest of the sets are so overpriced.might get the shark ship one day tho
Is this the greatest lego set ever
>>10739262No, this is
>>10739262the Bohrok are objectively the best Lego sets ever produced>3 play functions (head smash, roll into a ball that could actually roll around and be thrown, and krana flinging)+the packaging being canon to the bionicle story and having a holster for the ball mode bohrok to store it in a way that reflects its depiction in the story)>All for 8 fucking dollarsBohrok are deserving of being in a hall of fame for toys separate from Bionicle or Lego theyre that fucking good

>>10739267What if the real greatest Lego set was the friends we made along the way?
>>10739330I know and like the old yellow head sets. Star Wars fans just made Lego more into a pop culture collectors item maker than imaginative toy company.
>looking up some vidiyo figures>most of them are actually pretty good (why did this theme die immediately again?)>see pic related>averages at about $30What the fuck.
post sets only you bought. That octopus is pretty amazing
>>10739372I got this one. You can get it for less than $30 at Target, and with Target's bonus Insider points, it's a steal at over 500 pieces. The real reason I got it was because I'm a big fan of Aqua Raiders and yellow color scheme of the submarine plus the deceased diver wearing blue feels like a callback to that theme.
>>10739261ok I thought bunchu wasnt as customizable as zbob at first but these are promising results. you can also flip the flame things forward to be dual energy blades instead of punch trails
>tfw I bought a set for a series I don't care about because it was on sale
Eeeeeh, I missed that they restocked the LEGO logo metal plate, the classic yellow one, you know, from the insiders rewards. I always wanted to glue one to my lego room door, i took the Christmas bauble instead... better luck next time i guess.
Any og Ninja fans? Made a blue temple for these guys.
What went wrong?
>>10739372I got two of those. It's pretty much perfect.
>>10739492The main characters of the show don't have enough flaws. They are hard to relate to, and the show is boring as a result.
>>10739492It's main flaw is that it's boring.Boring and flat main characters who act like what executives think zoomers do. Izzy is especially bad for this, she's an anime fan and k-pop stan, y'know everything kids today like. The set builds are "lol so random" for the sake of being in a dream. As RR Slugger says, the dream world feels like an alternate dimension instead of a dreamworld, for example it would be pretty broken if the main characters could literally do anything. There's no wet dream world, you know some kid is going to make an island of naked supermodels.
>>10739293it is bothering me that it doesn't have the blue eyes it should have, but bohrok were so kino
>>10739364imo i feel they died because of a few things.the first wave was mystery figs only, vs wave 2 that had actual "sets" for the bands. I firmly believe if they came out with the sets first, they may have lasted slightly longer. The single MF for $20 was completely retarded. the case was awesome, but the thing was filled with shitty 2x2 printed tiles that didn't matter at all.App tax themes always failand my controversial one, the figures were so unique and specialized that they didn't fit with any other lego theme. So they felt out of place. Like I still love the dragon one, but CANNOT use the torso or legs because it only fits a rocker dragon.
>>10739524I used them for this beast.
>>10739492Tried to make a theme around dreams and creativity, I harken it to chalk zone, but with lego... but the sets have no cohesion because dreams have no fucking cohesion, so the sets are just all over the place. And could be because I am older now, I feel they are trying too hard with colors. Instead of sticking with a solid main color and accent color, they feel the need to throw in every color under the sun that either doesn't work or just doesn't look right imo.Like the evil theme is Black and hot pink/purple, then they muddy it up with salmon pink and yellow, and then have to have white in there too, which to me looks weird and makes it too busy.KISS: Keep It Simple Stupid...that is why the blob set works so well it is white, and green, with black accents. simple, and effective.

>>10739364technically series 2 was "cancelled" and not released in the US, but Walmart got like, one batch in stock, for the Xmas grab bins in the middle of the aisles, so if you got lucky you might have been able to get some. (Vampire Chick was one of the best figs from that set)I remember the sets were higher-priced than similar sets by a noticeable amount. Like a set that should have cost $30 instead cost $60 and the app music reason for that cost was simply not worth it.
>>10738880it's the bike from sega all-stars racing not shadow's game
>>10739706I knew that series 2 got cut short but didn't realize they never got a proper release in the US. Thanks for the info, it's a shame because there were some great figs in my opinion. I still can't believe Lego tried making their own version of tiktok though, just a really odd footnote in Lego's history looking back.

I'm trying to find these weird Lego bricks I had as a child. It might have been a Megablock set but they were oval shaped with two large studs on top. There were also flat pieces, and singular round pieces with one stud. They weren't traditional bricks.

>>10739811Their names all varied in different regions.
>>10739706Video was a fine idea but they should have invested in making the app work before launching it. Also the bombastic, vibrant minifigures were cool but I think appealing to more basic collectors alongside them would have been a good strategy. A more equal mix of aliens, monsters, and people.
>>10739859Yep shitty lighting, shitty camera and shitty 4mb file limit so I can't post all the good pictures.
>>10739298This display would be significantly cooler if it was filled corner to corner with some sort of moc, even it was star wars themedThis dust collector doesn't even at least have an interior to open it up for, that inflated price is entirely thanks to the disney taxWhat a waste

>>107401521. Realize you have no friendsEND
>>10740152Taking pictures of anything you make almost always lessens your opinion of what you made since you’re putting up to interpretation by others. Remember that there is no such thing as the perfect shot, some are better than others but photographing anything you make limits you to just that picture. You are never going to encapsulate the whole moc in one picture. Just take a decent isometric shot and post it, if anyone gives a crap they will ask for other perspectives which you will be more than happy to provide.

All of the traps are really fun to play with, and probably the most fun part of the build too. The boulder mechanism is really cool, and there's a very satisfying "clunk" every time you twist the knob back to set it back into place. Makes up for the lack of a regular dropping ball piece on a rail like the old one had. The whole feature with the idol is really cool too, definitely the most complex mechanism of the build, since it controls the light brick, the idol, and the falling head statue all with the same knob. The light brick also makes the set really cool in a dark room, with the light shining directly on the model. The set just looks really nice overall, the colors are great (better in-person than on the box I'd say) and I love all the foliage. Highly recommend if you're a big Indy fan.
I'm sorry, but modern Lego is the best it's ever been, and Star Wars is the best theme. You might not like it, but it's true. I also love Rey and the Star Wars sequels they are actually, unironically pure kino, the greatest Star Wars movies ever made and honestly the Lego sets are by far the best with the best Lego minifigures ever made too. I also love Disney, go ahead call me a "mousecuck" or whatever your reactionary responses will be to this post, and the Disney sets are also some of the greatest Lego sets ever made, and modern Lego completely MOGS older lego garbage from the 90s it's 100% true, sorry it makes you seethe.

so I recently got back into Lego, and I've been collecting the star wars helmets but I missed out on the tie pilot / stormtrooper / scout trooper ones. The scout trooper is still reasonable but the other 2... holy shit why are they so fucking expensive? I can definitely either gets most of the pieces through pick a brick or through bricklink for MUCH cheaper, It's just asinine that just bricks, no exclusive parts or minifigs, are selling for almost $300 for the tie pilot and it was just retired like 2 years ago.
>>10739267
>>10741905Welcome to the world of Lego, better look at the sets retiring soon and get what you want or pay the late tax.
>>10741920i mean I just parted them out on bricklink and I can build 99% of both sets for around $50 each in parts which isn't bad.the Tie Pilot though has printed 4x4 radar disks with the empire insignia and they're... fucking $55 EACH cheapest on bricklink. Does anyone have an alternative for this part even if it's third party? like a sticker that I can use to replicate them with?
When they retire Lego Titanic next year are they likely to bring it back occasionally as a limited edition?I ask because the set as it is is peak, I wouldnt see any way lego could revamp or make a better version of it, so i was wondering what Lego usually do here >inb4 ultimate dust collectorIts actually for me and my history buff mum who wants it
>>10741931no way, once a set is retired it's done. the only exception for that was the early 2000s when lego experimented with bringing back various 1990s era sets briefly on lego.com. honestly if you really want it now is the time to get it, especially since it's double insiders points right now.
Forgot to add though I don't think it will retire next year, it seems like one of those sets Lego is going to produce for a LOOOONG time since it's exclusive so no need to worry about it clogging up store shelves.
>>10741933Hmm, any chance of it being discounted when retirement date is released?I find it interesting lego don't just do a re-release of sets like this though. Maybe they'll do some smaller version years from now like the taj mahal sets
>>10741937True, thanks for your help anon
>>10741943It's unlikely to ever be discounted a large amount, at most you might see a future insiders sale that discounts it like $50-100 at most. Lego only really discounts stuff when it's not selling well and the Titanic is a pretty popular set, it's always sold out at my local lego shop.
>>10741949Thanks again anon If anyone was interested i was speaking to a lego shop employee who had it and 500 sets lol. They get 50% discount capped at £2k a year, pretty snazzy

>>10741749Neilmed or Fess, they're not really different. The Fess one has a wider hole to pour salt in, the Neilmed one tightens a bit easier. You'll probably want to get one that comes with some sachets to start off with so you can get an idea of how much salt to put in, too much or too little are unpleasant. But the sachets are a rip off, you can buy table salt from the supermarket for about a dollar per kilo which works fine as long as you measure it out properly.

>>10741925I have bought custom replacement stickers before but never for parts that were officially printed. You can check ebay, that is where I get my customer replacement stickers. Your other option is to just wait and see if Lego releases the expensive part again in another set in the future. Then the price will come down and that will be your time to strike.
This set was fun as heck to build. Sad Avatar sets are retiring.
>>10742549Does the terrain build look better in real life? To me it just looks like a vomit of colors and shapes. At least the mech is good.

>>10742910Need one of those “Dave and busters” type places. When I was in Japan back in 2015, I got to visit one. Multiple stories with tons of stuff. You can skip the arcade part and just do the bowling alley and table tennis. Maybe even indoor batting cages.
>>10742740Shit, my bad.
>>10743022Like another anon mentioned, this is just a hobbyist who makes their own creations, it's not an official set. Official Lego mechs almost never look this good and detailed, but it really goes to show what the medium is capable of. Sometimes the hobbyist will post instructions though so you can piece it out and make it yourself.

>>10742338I remember really enjoying the gravity rush demo on my vita. It's a shame that franchise never went anywhere
>>10743022If you want to get into Lego mecha scene, there's a lot of readily-available "frames" that you can build armor plates and stuff on top of. They usually have a pretty small part number and you can plate them with whatever stuff you have on hand. You can google stuff like ReFrame (though I think the creator charges $5 for instructions but you can pirate them) and lego mech frames in general.
they announced the next round of Bricklink Designer Program sets>castle chads stay winning

>>10743718Yes I have and going to in couple weeks. No order limit, but they add a charge if you go under a certain limit. Also bestseller and standard come from different factories and have their own limit charges. Over 55€ gets you free shipping.
>>10743718>>10743788this and...bricks from bestseller section are shipped fast, while you may wait couple of weeks before they send you the standard ones. Sometimes it's faster sometimes it's slower. They count bricks preciseley, so you wont miss anything like it happens in 90% of bricklink orders (or I'm just unlucky). When you order like 100s of the same brick, you may end with couple extra, as they probably weight those instead of counting.

Could have sets based around that premise with civilians and people dressed in period costumes doing educational stuff.Lego could have their cake and eat it too because it would be a perfectly reasonable way to have a disabled knight or a Princess with a hearing aid. >they could do a set with a fantasy LARP group. That'd make a great set, even if they went full retard and made it look like those goofy american pool noodle swords it could make a fun playset, but Lego City LARPers would probably be one of the most well received one wave City subtheme.
