Before I go to bed, has anyone here seen the Wild Childz dolls on instagram? I’ll give my thoughts on them tomorrow but I like how the prototypes look, a little out there but I like it
>>10731779I honestly don't think we'll hear of wild childz in a while since I assume things didn't go well with the walmart fair thing
Does anyone know if this head sculpt is available in blonde? I want to give my girlfriend a doll that looks like her (white girl, blonde hair, slightly aquiline straight nose).
My package got pushed back to Thursday
>>10731821No, I dont think so
>tfw mum bought me the faboolous pets 2 pack because we got a 25% off any toy offer from circle today
>>10731779They didn't make it in the walmart pitch meeting. Couldn't blame you not knowing though, some youtubers are posting about it recently and acting as if we're gonna get wild childz.>>10731043if you erase the ugly paint, that doll has an embedded skull which makes it cooler.
>>10731819>>10731864They didn’t? That’s sad to hear, I hope they can get in touch with another manufacturer or some sort of funding, I would like to buy one of them
>>10731819>>10731864I'm impress how far they did by themself trying to bring the dolls to retails from the ground up.But since they already have finished prototypes it would be logical to crowdfund and made-to-order even if they would cost more
>>10732139I'm surprised they haven't gone that route alreadyMaybe it's just me, but the dolls just look like they'd appeal more to adult collectors than kids to begin with
>>10732012>>10732139they did better in prototyping than curvy girls ever did. Would support them if they decide to go crowd funding. Also, curvy girls owner is begging in IG right now for a car. I actually want an actual obese 1/6 fashion doll but the people running curvy girls/plus dolls are so inept.
>>10732270Never heard of that brand, can I get a quick rundown of them? I remember how much of a failure Lammily (if that’s how u spell it) was lol
>>10732139Yeah I do hope they crowdfund on Backerkit or something. I feel like that will help them know how many dolls they’ll have to make and send out without having to cheap out on quality. I want to get the zebra and panda girl badly.>>10732216Yeah, I get that too. It would be cool to have another adult collectors line
>>10732363>obese women want an obese 1/6 fashion doll. Line is curvy girls>crowd funds it>i remember there was a drama with the proto manufacturer but they nuked their old curvy girls social media so can't find anything.>crowd funding flopped>they renamed to plus dolls>they had to redo their dolls from scratch, pic related is the latest iteration>still following them because i want a fat doll>tried to pitch their doll to a retailer, manufacturer, probably failed>planning to sell it as independent bjd next year. a doll might be 500$+>apparently owner is jobless, broke, and car broke down so begging for money at IGat this rate i think the owner will croak from obesity complications before finishing the project.BJD people, how much does a 1/6 scale bjd cost?
>>10732448BJD's are expensive as fuck, so probably around $300. But then again, those look like they were resin printed, and you can make custom dolls with a 3D printer for... Well, more than the cost of just buying a fucking BJD to begin with. ~$400 for a decent 3D resin printer, plus the cost of resin, so probably like an extra $60-$90. If you want a IPA wash machine, that's like $150, then you also need the curing station, which you can DIY or just buy for an extra $200. So ~700-$800 just to get yourself set up for resin printing.
>>107324481/6 scale no longer has economy of scale (no pun intended) with costs of molds and materials, so will cost $300+ low end, $500 mid range or average, and for high grade resins such as french resin, $850-$1,000 easily. In short, the size will not save you any money, especially considering the doll is fat and will use more material. $500 would be reasonable for a small production with proper materials.
>>10732448This kills me but also makes me laugh because the build for the dolls is cute but goddamn the owner can’t market or do anything for shit
>>10732448Imagine wanting a obese ugly sheboon toy
>>10732448i looked the brand up, the link to their insta is dead, lol
>>10732468Moonlight Jewel makes her own dolls with 3D resin prints. And if your shipping them out with colored skin tones, clothes, hair, etc… you would probably have to spend over 100 hours just to customize the thing and make its own clothes before sending it out.Unless their making it a printable and putting the blueprints online, the BJD route is going to be.. interesting nonetheless
>>10732524told ya they're inept. the active IG is plus.dolls
>>10732544This is the lady behind the dolls and omfg this is killing me
>>10732527Is that the lady that makes video game characters and MH characters and such as custom dolls? If so, I believe she sells the print files online. If you're really so inclined, you can also model the doll yourself, but expect to fuck up a lot in the beginning if you've never printed or modeled before.>>10732563Jesus, did she spend all her funding on mcdonalds or something? How do you fuck up so badly?
>>10732570Yeah, I watch her vids and I love her MH redesign customs. I like the artistry that goes into it, but I don’t currently have the space or money to do a diy bjd print lol. Maybe one day haha
>>10732570I don’t understand how fat makes someone look so old yet so… orgish
>>10731779She's cute but I never expected it to get picked up
For years, I've always wanted dolls with a mature, milf type body. Not as fat as >>10732448 but something with a bit more pudge and a lot more T&A than the typical fashion doll. There also needs to be that Hartman hip waist to hip ratio. There's shockingly few dolls that can do the milf look well. The curvy fashionista body's b-cup bust and bloated waist just doesn't do it. Incredibles 2 Helen is good bodywise, but she's got a very cheap build quality. She also has a huge noggin. The closest doll with milf-esque proportions is probably Bo Peep from Toy Story 4. Great body, but it only comes in pale white and Bo Peep's face is off putting. Of course, Helen & Bo Peep are hard to find clothes for, especially something that doesn't look like a rainbow potato sack. And there's also the fact that there's no good "older" faces that you could headswap with.Ah, well. My search continues...
LOL is also doing a thing with Hello Kitty
Does anyone else get hit by a steadily intensifying wave of anxiety whenever you go doll hunting? Whenever I browse stores I feel like I am under constant attention from all the workers, even if I don't have any intention of doing something bad.I am a grown adult dammit this is supposed to get easier as I age not harder, it's not like I shy away from being who I am in other situations.
>>10732704I always feel anxious and awkward when buying dolls, but it's because I'm a male. I found the best strategy is to just act confident, like you're supposed to be there, and just ignore everyone else. Find the doll you want, then buy it at self checkout if you're nervous.
>>10731886>the greek face mold has only been used two timesWell. That's a shame.
Paulsmart has the creepos?????
>>10732831it seems ghoulia and abbey are sold out, here's spectrahttps://paulmartstore.com/products/2024-mattel-monster-high-reproduction-spectra-vondergeist
>>10732664>>10732665>>10732667>>10732671:( those new Bratz lines and Storywood fairytales better be phenomenal if they're willing to dump RH and LOL. >>10732674Cute but would've been nicer if they used tweens or full sized dolls.
>>10732448a smart doll costs like 52000 japanese yensome unfinished DIY BJDs are like $100 on aliexpress
Any idea how to style honey swamp I got her second hand and her hair is a literal cube, the person who had it before me seems to have keep her hair in a square box, how do I make her afro spherical again, I would've asked this on the social media but knowing how people are all about texturizada hair until a non-black ask for advice for her dolls hair and get flooded with le funny emoji n rec pics I would rather not
>>10732656I'd seen a lot of people in the doll community complain about this person who thinns their dolls waist using plastic bands and boiling water but I unfortunately yet to find the video, I tried googling the username on TikTok but with no success
>>10733165Nevermind I am retarded, I have the eyesight of a mole
>>10733130Take one of those afro picks and pick at it to give it back some shape?
>>10733130Since it’s doll hair, you might have to pick it back out to an Afro by hand. If that doesn’t work, probably get a small spray bottle and sprit some water on it idkSince most doll hair is serán (I think that’s how you spell it), it might take a while unfortunately
>>10733165Why are ppl mad at her? It’s her money and her dolls honestly
>>10733340People in the doll modification community are always looking for something to outrage at
>>10733340dumbasses think it's fatphobia, body shaming lmao.
This is apparently a thing?
>>10733368I could see this being used for background accessories for dollhouses or such, it’s very cute
>>10733492She looks so cute here omg
>>10733368Yes, and apparently fucking impossible to buy anywhere. Youtubers and resellers snapped up the first wave by the case.
>>10732965>Storywood fairytalesAny word on when we're supposed to know more on that?
>>10732841Man, even the Spectra one is sold out :(Are we supposed to get another wave of Creeproductions or are those it?
>>10733987from what the paulmartstore people said, apparently they managed to find a way to order them from the factory directlythese dolls officially come out next yearalso fun fact shiver is the only pet that doesn't have its name next to it, might be a trademark problem
>>10734045This is my first time of hearing of Paulsmart but thank you so much. I’m going to email them if they can order a Creeproduction of the main girls, mostly Clawdeen as she was my fave
My package came early after being postponed! And it wasn’t crushed! And I got one of the girls I wanted! I also collect vintage ads, she vibe’s perfectly with them, so I posed her with some as a background :)
>>10734230Congrats anon! Looks like we both got one we wanted. How lucky for us.
so uhhhh....there's rumors that creepo spectra has poly hair
the pet really doesn't have a name...
>>10734392Thank you! We really did luck out on this one :)
>>10734230>And I got one of the girls I wanted!>>10734392> Looks like we both got one we wanted. How lucky for us.good for you guys! but next time, if you don't like to gamble, these are available on aliexpress too and you get to pick which one you want.there's actually a pretty big selection of these mini bjds
>>10735395Probably will do that to get the other girl I wanted, thanks!
>>10735111Where’d you hear this rumor from? It would be disappointing if they did give her poly hair tho
How long does Mattel Creations take to ship usually? Order placed almost a week ago, don't mind waiting but am keen to get my made to moves.
>>10731602This post almost made me buy an ily bambi damn
>>10735499What's stopping you
>>10735503I prefer dolls to have better articulation idkIf I see one on the shelf I will definitely be tempted
>>10735509Yeah thats fair, didn't the earlier versions of ILY have better articulation?
>>10735514Not really, multiple people complained about the first ones' knees (supposedly they had the tendency to pop out if you tried to make them sit)
>>10735621Oh that's unfortunate, I see why they went to basic articulation then
>>107354122 people on twitter that have her have claimed that and uh....the hair is indeed doing the poly thing where it can't properly lay flat
>>10736086That furbratz has seen some shit.
>>10735960Well... glad I already have the original in my collection to begin with>>10736086I would die for her
>>10735514Aside from the legs popping out, the first ones could bend their arms at a 90 degree angle and even that isn't good enough for me, these ones reportedly can't manage that.I wish Mattel was still making Disney dolls. I know they're fashion dolls but articulation is a make or break for me.
>>10731829Have you got your package yet anon
>>10736122I did! It came early >>10734230
>>10736198This is the best news, that's the one I liked most too
Upcoming Penny's box mermaid dolls! They come with clothes too, not pictured
>>10732468$300 is on the dirt cheap end for BJDs. They also tend to not be available in 1/6 size in the body shape >>10732448 is looking for. Those dolls would be found in 1/3 and 1/4 sizes. Curvy dolls ARE surprisingly easy to find with BJDs compared to 10-15 years ago, so you can even be picky about what kind of curvy doll you want provided you have the money.
>>10737175these are cute even without the clothes I might want one.
>>10736228She's super cute, you can find her and others on aliexpress if you wanna skip the gamble
>>10737175These are so pretty, do they come with stands?
2024 Birthday Wishes Barbie
>order two>everyone says their order is shipping>mine is not>when it does it will snail mail from one side of the country to the other>always the last to receive and make my vintage barbie videoFucking bullshit. I hate Mattel so much.
>>10737374The emerald outfit had me tempted but nothing else really screamed at me to get her, mightve felt different if they gave her a better hairstyle. Hope she makes it to you safe and sound, would love a review when you get her
>>10737358Cheap, but she's got a pretty face, at least
>>10737395I post videos of vintage barbie stuff, you might have seen it online if you ever like vintage collecting. But I’ll do a review here specifically when I get her. I like the idea of being able to use a vintage black barbie in the 59-65 fashions, and also using her outfits and presents combined with last years 12 days for a nearly full December advent calendar. Last year I had no idea that pic related got released, despite being a barbie club member. I found out a month AFTER release and it sold out. Ended up paying filthy scalpers for two, and my mom adored hers.
>>10737460I’m sorry you had to pay scalpers man. But I’m glad your mother and you liked the dolls
>>10737460What’s your YouTube channel? I might’ve seen one of your reviews
>>10737478Not going to post it here, but they are simple affairs of just filming and talking to the camera while showing the doll. I don’t have time for tons of editing. Although, one of my review videos made it into a making of the barbie movie video a news company made, so that was exciting for me.
Do kids really like these? I don't get this kind of fashion.
>>10737950They like the blind box and "reveal" part of it, im sure sone part of them appeals to kids visually, but like specifically little kids. They can also get pretty trashed and survive a bath tub so parents probably like them for that too
Just got this email from mattel. Title of the email was "Fang Club Members: Fave Mon-stars Are Back" anyone got any guesses what's being restocked?
>>10733368>>10733863So today I was "THAT bitch"...There are only 8 in a case, I can see why stores didn't order enough and they are selling out so fast.
>>10733368>>10738298these are adorable. i could totally see myself buying them for my dolls to carry or put in their bags. do they open or are they just molded plastic? cant tell from the pics
>>10738308oh wait nvm it says on the box lol
>>10738310Only the first two pages have real text. The rest is generic gibberish, and the madlibs are literally just the same one printed over and over again.
>>10738308You can look at myfroggystuff's video on them, they are all openable and have different bindings and styles, but are not fully readable. They look really cute, I wish there was a broader catalogue with some public domain classics mixed in as well. She got tons of doubles in that video so I'm nervous about opening mine.
>>10738369Man, I still remember Myfroggystuff’s diy baby stroller vid, that’s how I got introduced to her
My girlfriend put me on Monster high.. I remember watching the Nickelodeon tv movies back in 2010-2011 and that’s about it. I like the concept of MH but, never thought about collecting the dolls because “I was a boy and dolls are for girls” stigma. But, my girl put me on it. I got Core Toralei recently as my first doll
>>10738519Grats. Welcome to the club. I'm up to 29 dolls myself, all G3 ghoulies. I need more doll stands because I've only got one left, and I'm hoping to get the core refresh dolls and possibly some more SS dolls for the holidays.
>>10737967It's not even a reveal doll.
>>10732656There are some slim thick bodies on aliexpress.
>>10738150I think they will re-release some random and recent skullector like jack & sally, child's play or haunt couture>>10738298I don't understand the appeal of those mini books, like it's just papper and you can do a bunch for free if you have a printer. An interesting thing is mini brands books are replacing the mini brands create masterchef that was like miniverse.>>10738638Anon don't you know those are omg bodies ?
>>10738687>mini brands books are replacing the mini brands create masterchef that was like miniverse. What seriously?
>>10738569Ah then mostly the parents like them because they're cheap and durable
>>10737950Yes, that right there is a dream fit. My cousin would be the coolest girl at school she wore outfits like that.
>>10737181>$300 is on the dirt cheap end for BJDsNo it's not. You can get a Resinsoul or Mirodoll for as low as $150.>>10738756Pls don't post pics of children in a thread where we have various pedo regulars.
>>10738687Some of the books seem higher quality than others but yeah for the most part these are pretty easy DIY projects, I wouldn't mind trying it out for some classic goosebumps or scary stories to tell in the dark
Is there anyone who does RH faceup commissions? I know it was easy to find someone who did MH for awhile, but I am looking for someone willing to do RH repaints.
>>10738881Ask around on Etsy. I've come across a few:GiGis DollKeep,KORcustom
>>10738966>>10738971thank you so much anon/s, I appreciate it
>>10739010Found one >>10739018You don't have to do that here anon
so I'm not a bratz expert but there was a person on twitter saying that the Alwayz line "have the oversized UV head sculpt" on the 2001 bodyat least to me the heads look fine, but can Bratz connoisseurs weigh in on the topic?
>search for dress with google lens>find the most elaborate and detailed description IDing this one particular dollsheesh lolhttps://www.reddit.com/r/Dolls/comments/14z978c/can_anyone_tell_me_what_barbie_this_is/
>>10739523>No encore of TNBC doll set set to stick it to the scalpers.
>>10739523Is this confirmed or wishful thinking?
>>10739523No way is it HC Drac, pfft. Has to be the stuff that didn't sell as well so there were some leftovers in the warehouse. Like that Frankie that stayed in stock for a long ass time.
>>10739507Thing like that can't happen with current barbie, you can id all the random fashionista but not millie. If she doen't have a unique hairstyle or makeup it's imposible to id her, she could be a fashionistas or a playset doll.
I really hope Mattel officially reveals what they're restocking ahead of time, instead of just dropping it and expecting people pay 10$ to guess what they could buy.
>>10739523>>10739676if they're only going to be avaliable for the day that is beyond fucking moronic. imagine being able to just purchase select older runs at any time as a fang club member, that would actually be a pretty good deal for $10 a year, and probably make mattel shitloads of money as well.they're all just going to sell out again within fucking minutes, maybe an hour being generous. christ i hate the retards at mattel.
>>10739697Imagine if they did a straight up MTO of HC Drac. They would make insane amounts of money. Idk why Mattel refused to do things that are guaranteed to rake in profits.
>>10739469They don't like the bobble head proportions.
>>10739676They finally get me to buy the membership

>>10738687>I don't understand the appeal of those mini books, like it's just papper and you can do a bunch for free if you have a printer.people are really stupid and lazy
>>10732448Yeah I get all the hate but I want a fat doll too and I’m SO annoyed they haven’t done shit in years. I mean I started following the damn project as a young high schooler and I’m almost graduating college ffs.
>>10740163>Yeah I get all the hate but I want a fat doll tooyou do have to wonder why it hasnt been tried adn why so many fashion dolls are just long legs, apple butt, slim waist, small tits, long arms. A lot of curvy dolls arent even that curvy, they just have insanely small waist. where are the fat dolls? The stacked pin up dolls? Milfs? Big tits? Where are the really attractive bodies? Really unattractive bodies? Why are so many fashion dolls the same thing with just variations on leg length and waist size?
not to start some 4chan spurging, but I heard on co that frankie stein now has male body parts in her? Like part of her brain is male? what is the story there?
>>10740172G3 Frankie is made with a bunch of different parts of brains, it isn't the same Frankie as G1
>>10740172Frankie's actress in the live action movies is a they/them so Mattel probably just went with it for the cartoon/doll.
>>10740167>Why are so many fashion dolls the same thing with just variations on leg length and waist size?A lot of dolls are intentionally made within proportions so that they can share clothes with other dolls. A problem with a fat doll like G3 Catty is you're stuck with the one outfit you got, it will be impossible redressing her unless you know how to sew or the etsy sellers start producing outfits
>>10740183Yeah definitely this, you get a bit more body variation with bjds I’ve noticed but still finding clothes to fit dolls with weird bodies sucks
>>10740177>G3 Frankie is made with a bunch of different parts of brains, iI know mattel was trying to be progressive, but putting several sections of adult male brains into teen girl that has a crush on cleo might be the most perverted thing they could do.
>>10740183>A lot of dolls are intentionally made within proportions so that they can share clothes with other dolls. A problem with a fat doll like G3 Catty is you're stuck with the one outfit you got, it will be impossible redressing her unless you know how to sew or the etsy sellers start producing outfitsoh I know. I own a few curvy barbie dolls and just the small changes there make it a pain to find clothes for them. Like why did they make her feet bigger. She's not fat enough that her feet would be fatter.
>>10740196Bit of a stretch but whatever sure
>>10735495It's been over a week now, still not shipped. Is this normal for international orders?
>>10740281Anon, I’m in the USA and it takes more than a week for Mattel to ship my creation orders across the state to the west coast. I still haven’t had my 12 days doll shipped. My silkstone midge sat for 3 MONTHS. I cancelled that order and reordered it later after they had a recent restock. It is insane how poorly they do at shipping their dolls
>>10740172It’s probably just me, but I feel like the creeproductions (and just newer G1 Frankie’s in general) have a slightly different face mold. It’s either that or they paint the eyes differently, idk.
>>10740214nah senpai thats pretty fucked up and sorry you can't see it, no hate here, just I think its a bit much.
>>10740520feels like a reach, like bait for bullshit drama
>>10740322I think the eyes are just painted a little different
>>10740550sorry, ill drop it, but I do think its fucked up and thats my legitimate opinion on it. its a kids toy.
>>10740562It is a kids toy, it’s plastic, not real, so relax.
>>10740562it's just something they use as a plot device in the show/movie, i don't think they put any thought into it beyond that
>>10740296>Anon, I’m in the USA and it takes more than a week for Mattel to ship my creation orders across the state to the west coast. I still haven’t had my 12 days doll shipped. My silkstone midge sat for 3 MONTHS. I cancelled that order and reordered it later after they had a recent restock. It is insane how poorly they do at shipping their dollseverything about that website sucks. I wouldn't be surprised if everything to do with the website is some neopotism bullshit. If they gave the first shit about fans they would at least update the checkout software so it wouldn't work with old shoe sniping software. But they don't, so those programs will continue to be used by scalpers.
>>10740562My guy it’s already a reanimated corpse, there’s multiple reanimated corpses in the show, heaths dad is the devil, lagoona has killed people, put the pearls away
>>10740520>>10740550mattel is probably just stupid and wanting to hop on the lbgt bandwagon without giving it much thought. They probably thought "hurp durp, we'll make her from girl and boy parts so she doesn't have a gender so now she is non binary, hurp durp, please buy our products lbgters!"There is no way they gave any thought to the lore implications of a frankenstein monster with the body of a teen girl, some body parts from men and some brain parts from adult men, women and teen men and women. The people that make these decisions probably don't watch horror movies, read horror or scifi movies, know about gender kink stuff or lbgt stuff. its probably some 60 year old man drinking coffee in a suit thinking "how do we get d'm lbgt's to buy more product?" personally, I like it. Its really slocky and trashy in a 1980s direct to vhs horror movie way. Like I can imagine some crap like this being played on a Saturday night on USA Up All Night. BUT its pretty cringe as a form of representation.
>>10740587Oh my God shut the fuck up take it to /co/ if you wanna argue dumb ass lore
>>10740578>My guy it’s already a reanimated corpse, there’s multiple reanimated corpses in the show, heaths dad is the devil, lagoona has killed people, put the pearls awayThat kind of highlights the problem with something like monster high. They really straddle the fence on if the characters are horror characters. Like they are all just fun besties, going to school, going to the mall, laughing and giggling....but....some of these characters have probably killed or watched their family be killed.
>>10740594>problemyou take this too seriously, go away
>>10740590>Oh my God shut the fuck up take it to /co/ if you wanna argue dumb ass lorediscussion. Its just discussion anon. anon, are you ok? You seem to spazz out anytime anyone brings up the relationships or plot of the doll lines that have it.
>>10740600 we discuss dolls, so take your qualms about the cartoon to /co/
>>10740599>you take this too seriously, go awayAnon, thats the branding. And they want people to drop $25 to $30 a pop on these dolls. The branding, lore, characterization is most of the product for monster high. Its why you would buy them over any other doll. You buy them because they are classic universal monsters. If you don't care about that, OMG and Shadow both have dolls with bright colors and similar clothes. They even have a doll similar to cleo. If you want zero lore, there are a few 100 barbies with zero background.
>>10740599I was the original poster with the issue, there are multiple people posting now. >>10740587>its probably some 60 year old man drinking coffee in a suit thinking...No doubt it's by committee at some point, and I would agree with you that they probably didn't give it that much thought. Frankenstein was to be a serious horror psychological thriller. Its extreme body horror. Now it's watered down, but the concept of putting (direct or implied) adult men into a grade-school girl in order to form her crosses the line into questionable material. I would argue that even 'Dracula' with the lore of killing people is more watered down, re: see kids getting into FNAF. Thats the extent of my eyebrow raising.
>>10740604The cartoon barely effects the dolls, at most they sometimes have episodes correlate outfits or certain characters get paired together in a box, but beyond that the "deep lore" does not really matter.
>>10740608>The cartoon barely effects the dolls, at most they sometimes have episodes correlate outfits or certain characters get paired together in a box, but beyond that the "deep lore" does not really matter.the heman cartoon didn't effect the toys. Nor the shera cartoon. Or the pony cartoon. Or any of the barbie cartoons. Or the JEM cartoon. Or really any toyline that has a cartoon. The toys are usually being pumped out in china before the design sketches are handed to the comic or cartoon team and told to be added to the cartoon/comic. But the lore is why people remember most of this stuff, except for something like barbie, that existed for decades before getting any media.
Has anyone gotten the holiday miniverse? Or come across them in stores? Apparently there's a rare Elf themed one hidden in the bunch with the candy spaghetti
>>10740616Cool take it to /co/ if you care about cartoon lore
>>10726996>>10727042i got themthey're not fun ;_;
>>10740296>>10740574Good to know. I used to buy BJDs so I'm capable of waiting several months between order and shipping, but just surprised Mattel is so bad at this because I'm assuming their dolls aren't made to order. I'm just ordering a couple of the looks barbies, nothing crazy.
>>10740738What is it that you don't like about them?
>>10732704Yes, I usually buy online wherever possible but if I do buy in store I try to be as quick as possible and self check out, I live in a small town and know people who work at the store that I don't want to have to explain myself to. I often buy a gift bag or a gift ribbon with the doll, so if anyone pays me any attention they just assume I'm buying a gift for a child in my life, and all the presents I do give away are super pretty.
>>10740732I dont care for the stupid drama it brings about gender bullshit or shipping or brain parts belonging to who cares, it's not relevant to the dolls

>>10740766>its the same anon that flips out when anyone says any of the doll characters of any line are attractiveNo, that's me and I only call it out when it's adult posters calling underage characters attractive. Notice how none of the pedos ever talk about adult characters like Barbie being attractive. We have a whole containment thread here on /toy/ where you can go proudly and loudly be a pedo as much as you like but you insist on continuously defending it here no matter how many times you get banned.
>>10740766no, its not. Stop lumping everyone together. "everyone who doesn't like x is the same person" shit happens endlessly in this thread.
>>10732704Not anymore, I think it’s just in general easier for me to browse in public since I’m a girl but also it’s been easier to be open about collecting dolls since my parents know about it now and they never really made any big deal about it, like I’m sure they still find it odd but as long as I have a job and don’t turn into a hoarding case they just find it harmlessly eccentric. It helps that my brother is a huge fuck up so I really can’t look bad in comparison.

Rainbow High, OMG, & Bratz. Hasbro's dolls are a joke with low quality and shit articulation. And everyone else is just producing low effort kiddy dolls from the latest kiddy show. You don't see your "pedos" talking about Gabby's Dollhouse dolls, do you?So yeah, MH is the only doll line on the mass market that's giving us coomers what we want, Tits & Ass. That's not pedo. Some guy on the barbie forum got the 2023 12 days of Christmas barbie and here’s their review Just got my 12 Days doll!! It came in a Mattel shipper. I was so excited I nearly dropped the box coming in, lol. I'm not going to fully unpack her until after Thanksgiving, but I have some preliminary thoughts:1) The doll itself is stunning!! Just what I'd hoped for my first AA vintage sculpt. The screening is excellent and the hair (which I'll never undo) is lovely. Love her!! 2) The box is underrated, IMO. It's super heavy, beautifully made, and lined on the inside with holiday paper. The drawers are hard to open at first, but I wasn't afraid of breaking them. You really don't need to buy more than one box, because it's clearly made to last.3) The fabric for the outfits is fine but not great, IMO. The green outfit feels like it should be lined (it isn't) and they didn't bother to give her a top under the hostess gown. The slacks seem nice. The red wrap dress has cute bows on top but otherwise could be a Looks dress. Overall last year's outfits seemed more Holiday luxe (at least in photos).4) The accessories (most of which I left in the bags for now) were cute. The nutcracker is adorable, and the wreath with gilded pine cones was surprisingly nice. The tea set was nice, but not as cute as last year's Santa mugs. Oh, and the necklace and bracelet seemed less "molded" and nicer IRL than the promo pix (though I may still replace them).

>>10741197>>10741200I want her so bad. Not enough to pay for Mattel's club, though.
>>10741020For the longest time, I thought Bratz dolls had the hidden articulation instead. Like it moves but under the joints and you can’t see the joint points like Barbie and such, if that makes sense

>>10741412man, G3 MH is so cute when you get them some less busy looking clothes. I wonder what the story is on why the brand representation is so random in G3. It really feels like the box art, cartoon design, clothes design and the body designs are all separate people that dont talk to each other. I never liked how skinny the bodies were in G1 but the cohesive design between all formats and all the little details in the clothes was on fire.
>>10741423see here you go bruh, curvy adult woman doll. She's adult. She's going to listen to an audio book while walking by the river.
you could also get Barbie looks 16, who pretty much looks like a 70s porn star.

>>10741454>i hate hate HATE monster high fashion but g3 draculaura got me into doll collecting a little over a year ago, and wanting different clothes for her is what got me into dolls beyond that one impulse purchase. now i have like fifty between mh, sh, rh, omg, and barbie, and like 7 dracsI'm just robbing clothes off of rainbow and omg dolls that go on clearance. The budget frankie is also showing up at Ross for about $13 or $14 if you want the G1 outfit for her. I can usually split the clothes between my MH and barbie stuff and then give the OMG/Rainbow dolls away or sell them in a lot to a customizer.
>>10741080>>10741412I originally didn't like g3 abbey much but seeing her without the ugly default clothes and customized makes me sorta want her whenever she ends up on sale. I'd probably try and remake her into an oni girl or something if I can find someone on etsy to make her the tiger bikini.

do we know what's next for barbie with looks and extra over with now? walking down the barbie section of the doll aisle is so depressing.
>>10741479>do we know what's next for barbie with looks and extra over with now?I would imagine tons of cheap piece of shit fashinasta dolls that walmart wants $10 for despite having the articulation of a cheap doll from Dollar Tree.
>>10741080I agree, like Draculaura's ass is VERY large. Bless whoever designed the actual body molds which strayed from the concept art by making them more sexy. However, like other anon said, there's no need to gush comments like that, you can post about how you appreciate the body type/articulation in a normal way along with a photo of your doll in a pose or something.
>>10741487i recently bought a dollar tree doll because i liked the outfit. i don't know if the difference between the two is truly a $8value, but the dollar tree one is GARBAGE. the clothes started unraveling as soon as i opened it
>>10741492>Bless whoever designed the actual body molds which strayed from the concept art by making them more sexy.well...G3 drac also looks healthier. G1 looked like a strong wind would break a bone. G1 was always too skinny.
wish they would really do this

mattel should bring Kjersti back.
>>10741429> It really feels like the box art, cartoon design, clothes design and the body designs are all separate people that dont talk to each other. That sums it up perfectly. I get that they’re trying to do their own thing in a way with each outlet. But it just seems busy and hard to follow ngl

Remember when there used to be awesome Black Friday deals on dolls in the past? The $10 MH deals were my favorite. What happened to stuff like that? Hardly any dolls have been included in BF sales the past few years and it's always shitty prices, just a few dollars off normal price.
>>10741020I've seen people rebody bratz on EAH. Pic related is my rebody on hasbro disney descendants..>>10741656G3 was developed during covid. Designers really were doing their own thing at home and then meet up in Mattel's parking lot and show each other the progress. >>10741080Reiterating what I've said multiple threads ago,MGA picks bobble heads because if their dolls looked "hot", their dolls would be quickly pulled off shelves for "sexualization". There are videos of Karens complaining about some MGA dolls dressing like hookers. Said Karens made Barbie ugly and dress frumpy btw.Go drool and coom over your MH dolls, just keep it to yourself and don't spazz about that here lmao.>>10741569>G1 had an exaggerated skinny model aesthetic. That's why I am calling it double standard. Both G1 and G3 bodies are exaggerated.G3 has really tiny torsos in proportion to the legs, hips and head. where are the organs? Crammed in the hips and legs? Do they have lipedema? Also I am Asian. The average body types here really are closer to G1 than G3. Even Draculaura's live action actress who grew up in the west is relatively "thick".You are also nuts and coom brained if you think the average girl has G3 bodies lmao. Kardashians popularizing tummy tuck and bbl really ruined people's "normal".
>>10741714>bratz on ever after highAlso forgot to add, by using unsexy bobble heads, MGA can focus on the doll's fashion more. Imagine if the storm twins had realistic proportions... Parents would be seething

Although it could backfire, saw a north east Indian complain about g3 Abbey just earlier at doll twitter.. G3 Abbey doll's sculpt was obviously based on her G1 doll, "muh diversity and inspired by Nepali" thing the designer said was bs.
>>10741873I mean obviously she's going to have some inspiration from her G3 doll but her face is very much not G1 Abbey, thats dumb. Honestly they need to collaborate with a specific tribe for Isi if they want to do it right, otherwise I'd just shelf Isi as a character and use the deer base for someone new.
>>10741884I didn't say she is G1 abbey. It's g1 but cutified + bigger ears and new horns. I do not see ethnic features.I also said > actual North East Indian called out Mattel's BS
Any clue on when the MH restock will be?
>>10741687They clearanced them out to get them off shelves so they can put up other bullshit for the holiday. I've gotten 3 of the creepover dolls for 9 and 3 of the wave 1 dolls for 7 to 10 from Walmart clearance area. There is no logic behind it. One Walmart has Cleo for 10, another has her for 26. For what it is worth a lot of Ross stores have budget box howleen and Frankie for like 13. Tjmaxx has budget box drac for 15. Big lots has them for 18
>>10741714>Reiterating what I've said multiple threads ago,>MGA picks bobble heads because if their dolls looked "hot", their dolls would be quickly pulled off shelves for "sexualization".>There are videos of Karens complaining about some MGA dolls dressing like hookers. Said Karens made Barbie ugly and dress frumpy btw.The funny thing about this, if you have daughters or nieces, is at least half of little girls, like the way "hookers" and "sluts" look. Their eyes gravitate to those types of women like little boys gravitate to adult men in combat gear or giant robots or dinos. They like the big hair, the flashy colors, etc. Dolly pardon has famously replied when asked about her clothing choices that she thought the town hooker was the prettiest woman in town. My sister's and cousins daughter all thought Jessica rabbits song is the best part of the movie. It's weird. It's not sexual for kids but they want dolls that would be considered hot by adults. Imo it's just a kids survival instincts to look for healthy adults to learn from and get protection from. That would explain the characters kids gravitate to. They are all healthy.
MH sale was an absolute fuckup lol, shit didn't even load on the page for ten minutes and when it finally did turned out some folks had already dug up the available products and bought them out. Cool job mattel
>>10741935Great use of my 10$, I expected nothing less.
>>10741935>MH sale was an absolute fuckup lol, shit didn't even load on the page for ten minutes and when it finally did turned out some folks had already dug up the available products and bought them out. Cool job mattelI don't know why Mattel won't update their checkout software to something newer that doesn't work with shoe sniping apps
>>10741950Because it doesn't matter to them if a scalper bought it. It's actually better for them. Scarcity and overpricing drives up demand. It's why they get away with charging 50$ for Stitched in Style that could have been a 25$ Target drop
I'm actually not even sure the scalpers won today. Checking ebay I see like 5 new listings and none for Creepo/Haute
>>10741964Yeah, I'm seeing people theorizing that only 3 dolls were actually available to buy. But they pushed 13 dolls into the "favorites return" just most were already sold out when it loaded. Unless they are planning to restock randomly dunno why those other 10 are in there.
>>10741967Could be they had 1-2 dolls leftover and the amount was so minuscule it didn't even make it to the scalpers. Could also be they're doing a layered drop at different times? I dunno, I got a change-checker spamming to see if the Sold Out text changes that I'll leave running today just in case. But I think the scummy 'had 1 extra doll so it made it look like we did a lot :)' is more likely.
>>10741955I hate to say it but they could learn something from Hasbro or even jakks. Hasbro will put out more product 2 years later with their expensive stuff. Fort max, deviststor and sky lynx have all gotten second runs years after they sold out. Jakks will short pack the best figs so that scalpers eat them up but they will release them again a few waves later. Mattel is just sowing bad will with this crap. They make tons of cheap shit fashionista dolls with no articulation and make so much of them they have to push piles of them to ROSS. The clothes on many of their better dolls look stupid. They hide their best stuff on their website and it sells out to scalpers. The more I think about the more I want to boycott them
I have seen 0 evidence on Twitter or the scalper bot discord or ebay that the Haunt Couture, Reel Drama or Creeproductions actually dropped.
>>10741973Hm now I'm seeing more evidence that resellers got the direct links. So yeah, tiny amounts available, scalpers got to them first, so fast that actual fans never even saw them available and doubted they were ever actually listed. At least the dolls I wanted didn't actually seem to be listed. I would've liked another shot at Freak du Chic Draculaura but she wasn't at the top of my list.
>>10741978One evidence, but I think no matter what happened, it's clear Mattel fucked it and scalper bots won

>>10741906No yeah I was referring to that Twitter whoever was dumb, like no duh the design is gonna still be familiar to G1 Abbey, really just the fashion could have reflected Nepali fashion more but good luck getting Mattel to put effort into fashion anymore.
>>10741935I'm just so goddamn done with Mattel and their shitty drops. The lack of clear information, the lack of blocking scalpers, the shitty way you can go through the goddamn check out process all the way and then get "sold out" - it's just all so infuriating that I'm all out of shits to give.Yes, I wanted some of those dolls they listed. But was I really expecting or even hoping to get any? Not really, no. This first year of Fang Club has been pretty worthless, and this fail of a sale just kills the interest.

>>10742081I’m not saying straight up Nepali copy and paste, just like patterns, some jewelry inspired by it, shit like that, be clever about it

I haven't seen this talked about but there are new Mini Brands Fashion bags and accessories out. I was walking through Target and saw this display that looked different from the other Mini Fashions, but I was confused since it didn't list itself as series 2 or 3 or whatever. Turns out they are a new series, but instead of listing them as series 3, they rebranded slightly. A lot of new doll-scale bags to collect. I got the shitty basketball purse and I want to kill myself, I will probably go back for more tomorrow.
What's the best 1:3 scale doll brand right now? I know that American Girl quality has gone down over time, is there anything better than them yet? (Is there anything that's as good as AG used to be?)
>>10742868What scale are these?
>>10742868Is that a literal heart purse with arrows? Would be perfect for Cupid
>>10742908Approximately 1/6 or doll scale, they work well for MH/RH/Barbie etc. Picrel is a Naturalista which is Ken sized. They come with accessories that can vary a lot, the headbands are only really Barbie scale and aren't very flexible so I wouldn't count on them for MH or RH. I only have two bags so I don't know if any are much larger than this, the first series had some that were bigger than this.
>>10742675no mods needed. You can also put mermaze heads on that body
Barbie Signature Claudia Schiffer X Versace dollwill release in November 29, 2023 and it's a Barbie Signature member exclusive.
Cleosnile at IG has a lot of leaks!>These new listings have been found today at Toys R Us Up first with New monster high Wednesday Dolls! It seems like Wednesday and her Roomate Enid Sinclair will be getting collector dolls it seems like!>Wednesday seems to be getting 2 dolls in her iconic raven dress and Enid in her core look from the TV Show>>10743102its also 100$ and with that clothes... It's a rip off.
I hope next year's Howliday Cleo is more on Howliday Drac than Howliday Clawdeen.
MH frightsize dolls are minis. >Inb4 they have cave club proportions
>>10743104Raven will probably sell out less quickly than Core but Core would look cuter with Enid... But the odds of checking out with both Wednesday/Enid in your cart if you're not a bot: zero:zero
Quick question: are we allowed to post doll art we like or made in this thread? I just wanna know
>>10743208i don't mind it but we have anons here that get upset about off topic things. That anon doesn't like it when others talk about MH cartoon too.If this board auto sages threads that are 20 days old and we don't even use up the post and image limit before autosage, art should be fine.
>>10743208Fanarts kinda iffy, not really a /toy/ thing, some fanart works like character art or fashion concepts. Would mostly encourage customized dolls and outfits, since that falls more into the /toy/ category. I'd just say keep it relatively tasteful fanart and don't spam it, shouldn't cause trouble.
>>10743208I got banned for posting pictures of craft glue when I was asking a question about customising dolls, so it's probably going to go down like a lead balloon, mods are dumb
>>10743257There's an anon who is openly report-happy >>10741597
>>10743274they are ruining this thread and I am tired of pretending they are not. A small amount of off-topic chatter keeps the thread alive and not dead during lull periods where there are no doll releases. Inevitably we get back on topic. So on topic, There are new RH releases with no previews coming up:Rainbow High Swim and Style dolls for 2024 Ruby, Violet and Skyler
>>10741517Still can’t believe they did Draculaura dirty like that, those tree trunk thighs are disgusting,
>>10741197Last year’s set was stunning, this one is a downgrade, shame the doll is ugly and the outfits look poor quality.
>>10743361Honestly the doll just needs a different haircut
>>10743378I think not having a full dress is really what is holding her back.
>>10743443I really like the green outfit, I'm not too impressed by the red, a fuller cocktail dress version would have been nice
>>10743494Or maybe something like a green barrette in her hair, I'm not sure. There is something off about it. I think I agree with the cocktail dress, and maybe a bob haircut.
>>10743208Iffy. Most won't care but there are two report happy autismos in this thread. One will report you for anything that isn't a doll and another will report you if there is anything sexual in that fan art. They never skip a thread. They probably have it in an open thread and reload it multiple times a day. Lol, I think everyone but them has gotten a 3 day ban because of them. I'm sure they are reporting everyone commenting on how they hold the thread hostage.
>>10743559Yeah I think a short cut would compliment the vintage style of the doll more, either a bob or something like this, a hair accessory would also look nice, perhaps gold to match her accessories
so it seems after music festival the next line for g3 is "Fearbook" , which I'm going to guess would be the equivalent to Picture DayI think picture day is one of the best MH lines (I own Drac and Abbey) so I hope this line is decent (also I hope darko does goofy yearbook pics like the original picture day)
>>10743104Not one but *two* skullectors based off this show? Damn they are really trying to dickride this dead trend.
>>10744315Three Skullectors... Maybe four if there's still another 2 pack coming. Wednesday is a great character to make in MH but I wish it wasn't this bitch actress,
I was given the okay to post some art, so I’m going to play it safe and post pre-production concepts Garrett shared on his insta for MHIt’s interesting seeing his vision for the dolls before the final product. Which of the pre-production designs are your favorite? I’m tied between Clawdeen and Frankie
>>10744623New thread already? Aw man :(
>>10744526I stopped posting G3 concept art here because the screeching autismos reported it lmao
>>10744002>You deserve to have your glue posts deleted.Yeah see, that's not even me you fucking psycho. You assume everyone you don't like is the same goddamn person. Go take your fucking meds.
>>10732448Wished their faces more varied
>>10738360What a weird choice. Printing the actual text shouldn't be much more expensive than printing gibberish..
>>10743102Why does her face look like she smelled a nasty fart lmao. Ugly
>>10737950they're mainly for the youngest. like the ones who are still drawing with crayons for instance.
