why does anyone want 5PoA toys when fully articulated figures exist? They don't even have filler, like aliens, if you want to create a crowd of background characters.
>>

Is there a reason they make them look like shit?

I would love a new one with all of the updated articulation, but we really need a new Farmboy Luke first.
>>
No one claps to the beat like Lando.
>>
>>10726405
I honestly think it’s cause they made the shittiest sequel figures. There is toyetic stuff in those movies, but they didn’t really make it cause JJ being obsessed with secrecy about a movie that turned out to be a fucking remake anyway. On top of that it was like dollar store toy quality. The worst quality X-Wings, TIEs, and Falcons ever released at that point. I don’t like the sequels, but I’m of the mind that if they put out a line at the same level quality as the Revenge of the Sith figures, shit even the Phantom Menace figures, it would have been a success. The movie is still is the biggest movie in the US of all time. Even Avengers Endgame didn’t beat it domestically. And I know the consensus among people who post on internet forums was mixed, but normal fucking people generally liked the movie. Normies didn’t sour on them til Last Jedi. TFA and Rogue One still maintained a ton of audience good will. They had this great opportunity, but just made a shitty toyline due to incompetence from both Hasbro and Lucasfilm.

That's not one of my most-wanted to be honest, but yeah. The original movie figure I'd most like to see updated is Obi-Wan.

Well Hasbro stupidly went and priced kids out of getting those fully articulated figures.

>>10726554
What bothers me is that because TLA and Solo stuff didn't sell, Hasbro just decided that basic 3.75" must be the problem and killed the line. As much as I'd prefer that every figure have TVC level articulation I didn't mind being able to grab a few 5POA figures of characters that didn't yet have better articulated versions, plus they were a good way of getting some characters that didn't really need the articulation like droids.

Any thoughts on the last figure standing poll that some of the TVC fan sites are putting together? Seems like they actually have some kind of pull with Hasbro, enough at least to maybe get done eyes on it.
I submitted some shit I know has no chance of being made like Plo Koon from Jedi Power Battles, F from the Visions episode Village Bride, Jaina and Jacen as one dual submission, Tera Sinube and a few others.
>>
>>10728500
Hasbro does see stuff like that which is why the same groups put out the March Madness brackets too. I submitted mine yesterday. Mostly went for OT stuff like Fozec and Momaw Nadon. During the livestream, Chris from Bantha Skull mentioned that a lot of people were submitting Merrin, which was surprising to me even though I had her on my list, and he said they're just about split between distinguishing it for FO or Survivor. I went for her Survivor look since it would make more sense as she'd go with the already made Cal Kestis and the Imperial disguise one that's pipelined
>>
>>10728514
I've never done the March Madness before but maybe I'll do it this year. I thought about Merrin too but figured a ton of people would vote her anyway. I also voted for Oola, I feel like Hasbro won't make her but a lot of people will vote for her potentially
>>
>>10728560
March Madness is going to be interesting this year because a lot of the recent winners and characters that have made it far into the brackets for the last few years have been made or announced. I'll be curious to see the correlation between Last Figure Standing and MM in terms of selections and rankings.
>>
>>10728500
It's a neat concept and I hope it does actually accomplish getting some less-obvious figures people want, although similarly to you my top 10 doesn't seem to have too much overlap with other peoples' top 10, so I don't expect to see things I really want make it to their final top 10 that people get to start paring down.

God I sure love overpriced boxed "deluxe" figures. So glad the whole line is overpriced "deluxe" figures now. What a healthy toy line.
>>
>>10729919
The worst part is that when these keep flopping Hasbro's going to try to figure out why, completely ignore the obvious conclusion that nobody wants to pay for overpriced figures with barely any accessories to justify the inflated cost, and decided that consumers just don't like deluxe figures anymore

They didn't in ANH, but they did in RotJ, since most of the costume here was shared with the AT-ST driver.
>>
>>10729919
I don't mind them for big characters like Paz or like the Stormtrooper with the E-Web pack, but they were really stupid to do the Luke and Tusken sets at the same time as releasing the single packed versions. Sabine also absolutely did not need this release either when half of the shit she comes with is meaningless. And now it seems like most people are just going to wait for the mural cardback version to see if they fix the helmet issue.

Speaking of Rebels characters though, Thrawn came in early from Amazon today. I really like him. Think I'll stick with this one over whatever live action based version they put out for Ahsoka.
>>
>>10730083
Probably the worst thing is Krssantan, his regular figure is a deluxe and then there's an even more expensive deluxe version which has like three extra weapons. Hasbro can't even pretend to have shame anymore.
>>
Will we ever see the ST figures redone with faceprint tech? I know they bring bad memories, but there are couple of characters like Poe and Finn who are somewhat redeemable and never had the photoreal treatment. It is somewhat offensive that one off characters from Rogue One are rereleased and mainline trilogy characters are just getting no respect. If anything, I want to use Finn and Poe's head for OC characters.
>>
>>10730125
They did Han in the Archive series but putting Finn out in retail again would be financial suicide since the big box stores probably never want him again. Even the upcoming TVC reissue is part of a fan channel only wave. ST characters just don't sell and at this point Hasbro knows that. At best you could probably hope to get Poe and Finn in some kind of two-pack for Pulse/Shop Disney like they're doing with the Mace Windu and Clonetrooper set.
>>
does anyone have any info on where someone could still preorder the SHF Darth Maul?
>>
>>10730125
Rogue One is still seen positively these days, whereas TLJ and especially TROS left such a bad impression that even TFA is tainted by association. There's just too much bad blood with the sequels.
>>
>>10729919
Tusken at least comes with a doggy, which is almost like a whole extra figure, but it was kinda disappointing. Only reason I went for the deluxe was cuz at the time the single tusken warrior was basically the same price. Should've come with some extra bits. Paz was really cool, and I feel like he was worth the price, even if he was just a dude with a few effect parts. The others don't seem worth at all. Exclusive krrsantan should've been what the deluxe one has, but unfortunately for me, the regular deluxe is the cheapest krrsantan. At least I'm excited for the mug and mango lol.

I'd like to see a storm trooper ultimate accessory deluxe figure, where it's a storm trooper that comes with the standard blaster, the long gun, both pistols, a few of the pauldrons, a moisture backpack, and maybe some other little bits troopers would have.
>>
>>10730125
They never really made many rise of skywalker figures maybe they could make Finn and Poe in their looks from that movie, obviously we’ll get another Rey since she’s coming back I guess lol, honestly I can’t believe they only made two knights of ren like one in each scale and they never made zombie clone palpatine
>>
>>10730351
I just can't see Hasbro taking a gamble of making toys based on the sequels, especially this late in the game; I think we all know that people who would actually buy those are very much in the minority.

The only way I could see it happening is as a crowdfunded box set or something but I doubt that'd even get funded.
>>
>>10730351
>Rey since she’s coming back
That movie, if it actually happens, will do worse than Solo.
>>
>>10730289
>At least I'm excited for the mug and mango
I've been liking those accessories a lot actually. And the hand to accommodate the melon is also good for choking other figures. It sucks that Hasbro will never make any of the Trandoshan dudes with removable arms to replicate that scene.

>I'd like to see a storm trooper ultimate accessory deluxe figure
I'm surprised they haven't made one when they did it for the First Order stormtrooper. There's a few blasters we haven't seen in a long time that would be nice to get like the T-21 and RT-97.

Did anyone else unexpectedly get an out for delivery notification for Director Krennic this morning from Amazon?
>>
>>10728306
>Yes, it's a custom.

I did the same thing, only picked up three but I also got three Riot Scout Troopers and a Rocket Launcher Trooper. Was a great deal.

>I wish we could get those too, especially in TVC with the troop builder sets, but I also fucking hate the mold so I'd rather not be tempted to ever buy it again. Which probably means if they do make a new version, they'll do the troop pack and release it before announcing the new one just like they did with the clones.

While I have some 3 3/4" stuff, I mainly get 6" figures now, so I'm not up to date on the smaller Droid figures. Those recent reveals for BS look promising. The Battle Droid and Clone Trooper two pack coming out is going to be a great way to build some troops. It would be cool if they did some variants but if they do, they will probably be sold on their own.

>>
>>10731666
The Rey movie won't get off the ground either. No way they'd sink money into it after the Marvels fiasco.
>>
>>10731696
I think they will put it out no matter the cost. If they don't don't, it will be more humiliating than the movie failing. I'd love to be proven wrong and Star Wars has a huge issue currently of movies falling through. It will be interesting to see what happens.
>>
What did you guys do with your Throne Room sets? I've had mine sitting on my hobby desk since I got it but that's keeping me from actually being able to use the desk for projects. I want to display it but I don't have any shelves that are actually deep enough for it to sit on with the dais fully pulled out. Feeling like if I take it down with the intent that it'll only be temporary (until the Jabba set releases), it might just end up remaining packed away which is almost sacrilege.

Haven't seen a comparison shot anywhere between the new rebels Thrawn and the older comic Thrawn so I figured I'd post one here. I think the older figure still holds up pretty well visually, but the hips basically don't move at all due to the lower tunic's stiffness, which is a shame because I wish he could at least sit down in a chair. The new one can do that and pretty much anything else you could think of, but the potential of it is somewhat wasted when we don't have his sparring droids for him to do any really impressive poses with. Would be great if the Ghost's success compelled them to make more of the rebels characters he interacted with like Rukh, Pryce, those droids, etc., but I'm not exactly gonna hold my breath on that.
>>
>>10731876

Agreed 100%, I get that swivel hips can be a dealbreaker for some but there's a lot of otherwise really great figures from that time period, many of which are absurdly unlikely to ever get revisited. The sculpt+paint quality on these guys is perfectly on-par with current figures, so I can pretty easily deal with their swivel hips when we're absolutely never gonna see hasbro (or anyone else) take another shot at them. There's some that just don't work of course, the old regular Stormtroopers being the most obvious example, but overall I think there's more hits than misses.

After messing with him a bit more I am really surprised to see that he has ball jointed wrists instead of the normal swivel and hinge ones. Very nice for a lightsaber wielder. I think that alone kind of makes up for the lack of thigh swivels.

I put mine on my bookshelf. It fits just barely. If it were a cm longer it’d be hanging over the edge. It is kind of odd to have my book collection broken up by a random Bib Fortuna on a throne with various other aliens, but it looks nice.

To be fair to poe, his character wasn't terribly bad. He was hyped to get a traitor to save him, and was willing to guide him into this second chance. He was a dedicated soldier to his cause, and was even willing to just do what he felt was necessary to said cause, even if his allies didn't agree. The narrative tried to portray him as wrong in 8, but he was actually right pretty much in every step.

Finn and the most potential, and also has a good character, but he was ruined by OTHER terrible characters. Namely, rose and rey. Rose literally ruined Finn's redemption sacrifice play at the end of 8, and then the writers relegated him to reys puppy in 9.

These two are more like victims to the terrible narrative that they were put in, but in isolation aren't particularly bad.
>>
>>10732830
eh, I think there was room for his lession in 8 being "dying for the cause is easy, you have to take the hard path of living to fight more" but either way you are correct that 9 just punted him regardless
>>
>>10732860
Yeah they kinda tried to SAY that, but then the narrative undermines that like, immediately lmao. At least they put rose on a shelf in the background for 9, but that's like saying "at least the piece of shit was a solid rather than a liquid" at this point, huh?

Black Series used to be the pinnacle of 6 inch figure. Marvel Legends people used to complain that they keep getting reused molds while Black Series get almost unique mold every character. Black Series have had really good facial sculpt that is of incredible likeness to actors like Harisson Ford, Mark Hamil, Ewan Mcgregor, etc. and we led the way for facial print tech.

Look at how the mighty have fallen, now we have single jointed limbs, rushed product based on artwork rather than screen accuracy, the absolute state of Ashoka figures.

They recently put out preorders for a reissue of the Walmart exclusive VC231 stormtrooper that went to fanchannel sites but they are sold out now. Pic related is about the only available standard trooper available for a decent price, since you could just pop the pauldron off and just order some E-11's off Marauders to give them normal blasters. And despite what the picture shows, the actual production version has rocker ankles.
>>

Hopefully they do another pack at some point and make the officers in the black uniforms.

He wasn't supposed to be out until January but Amazon got their shipment in early apparently. That whole wave seems to be starting to pop up though since other people are getting Revan and Pre Vizsla.

So hasnTVC gone up in price recently, or is my local Walmart being scalpers? I just picked up the Ashoka HK and it was like 18.75 after taxes!they had grand Inquisitor too, which I kind of wanted to buy, but I only had $30 cash, so couldn't.

I mean, I know I'm a part of the problem as I still bought it, but jeez!

Also, why the fuck did they put a cut in the middle of his thighs!? Why not just put the swivel in the hips, or on the knees!?

It's been $16.99 for the last couple of waves. I expect it to be going up again soon considering the last few multipacks have equaled out to about $18 per figure.

Wake the fuck up imperial mandos from SHF
>>
>>10734967
Ah shit. Gonna be too expensive to army build
>>
>>10734967
Surprised we haven't had more imperial stuff from Mando season 3 in TVC. Yeah the story sucked, but some of the designs would still make for some good figures, such as these guys and the proto-praetorian guard.... Eh, maybe Gideon in his Mando cosplay... Pirates might be pretty cool, too!
>>
>>10734967
remember they also made a gideon prototype but never released it
>>
>>10735044
Have we had anything at all from season 3? I don't remember. I think Black Series only got that random Fleet Commander guy announced during the Mando Mania and then Greef's droid like a week ago with another repacked Mando. How did they drop the ball so hard for the most popular show but had entire waves for both BS and TVC ready to go for Ahsoka?
>>
>>10735073
Yeah I was wondering the same thing. Like, they would have had everything, toy wise, decided and ready before the season aired, so why none of these as figures, yet, like you said, ahsoka show got most everything done. I can only think because of spoilers? Didn't want to spoil the "evil imperial mandalorians"? Praetorian was presented as a sort of twist, but wasn't really that big a deal, and you could have labeled these things deceptively to maintain their "twists", such as "imperial rangers" for the beskar armored guys (shit, I forget, was that what they were actually called??), and elite guard for praetorian, etc. but w/e, well see, i guess.

Also, nice pick up, >>10734951 I made sure to get that bike in 1:18 scale too, on clearance of course, because it was pretty cool!
>>
I was thinking of using it for Aphra, but I think it fits with Cobbsman more.
>>
>>10735095
I'm guessing they weren't told some stuff but at the very least they still have barely supported it with their announcements thus far since the show ended. All they have said TVC wise that we're getting besides another Mando and Grogu is a retooled Axe Woves and the Mandalorian Judge. I couldn't think of lazier releases when they could do the Imperial Armored Commandos or the Praetorian Guards.
>>
>>10733152
It's not bad but to me it's just very boring looking, which is why I haven't pulled the trigger on either release. My most recent Luke figure is the Endor capture Luke (which I like, but the articulation is lacking) so it's tempting, but it's a boring figure. It also still isn't very accurate.

Rogue One hasn't aged well. I watched it recently. Awful, all of the characters soulless and diversity castings. The Robot was the only character in the entire movie other than Vader with the slighest likability. I think that movie was seen positively because they ended with that scene with Vader that goes into ANH, but man the rest of the movie is so fucking boring. the Vader scenes are literally the only interesting scenes in the movie and then those can be depressing because James Earl Jones is like 90 years old and sounds like it. Also there are no John Williams tracks, so it doesn't even feel like Star Wars at all.
>>
>>10740036
Rogue One was a bad movie from the start. But it at least didn't shit all over what came before it (the stupidity of needing to explain the Death Star having a weak point notwithstanding). It's the best Star Wars Disney movie, but that isn't saying much, and yeah, it's...bad when you start really looking at it. But I enjoy it for bits and bobs.

The Sequels have no redeeming factor whatsoever. I actually remembered Phasma was a thing the other day and kind of blinked into space. Just waste. That's all those movies are. Waste.

I understand your point of view, because the Mangaguard is so damn egregious, but I think release like this are far and few between. Honestly, it's no excuse but it seems to happen with skinny droids. This last few waves really had some stinkers though. If it's something I don't need right away, I typically watch a youtube review. Thankfully a lot of channels are getting these things pretty early and you can doge a bullet if you're on top of it. Again, there is no excusing this though. Hasbro really dropped the ball on the Mangaguard.

Is it too late to switch scale to 1/18th? Feels like I'm 30 years behind. I just need the main cast for starters, Leia Han Luke 3PO R2, Darth Vader and maybe some Stormtroopers. Are the best iteration of these characters hard to find at TVC scale?
>>
>>10741557
The good news is that a lot of main characters get reissued frequently, Vader especially is a character that gets a release pretty much every year. Still, you might need to settle for figures that aren't 100% the best release in some cases if you're just starting out since looking for a specific version of a character for a good price can be trickier than just finding a mostly decent version of that same character for a lower price.

Rogue One was utter trash. I've said it since day one. And yes, the ending with Vader was why people remembered it so well, but the hours leading up to it were crap. It was full of forced feminism, to the point of even replacing the leader on Yavin 4 (General Dodonna) with Mon Mothma who wasn't even there at the time, not to mention all the other dumb crap. It's not too late. In fact this is a pretty good time to get into it as far as figures go because they're pretty much the best they've ever been. Only downsides compared to the 2007+ golden age is the price, lack of vehicles, and less selection of characters.

As for the main characters, Hasbro has said they've been aware of the "Make the Mains" campaign surrounding TVC 2.0 and they are working on getting new/updated versions of them into the line. They recently pipelined ANH Leia, ANH Vader, R2-D2, and the Stormtrooper. Leia is supposed to be all new, the others are unknown. Vader is most likely going to be a retooled version of the Dark Times from Kenobi (which you could get now and be pretty damn satisfied with it as it is the best Vader we've gotten in the scale so far). The Stormtrooper might just be a repack of the last one they did that was Walmart exclusive and it is also pretty damn good. If you want some now, you could get the Gaming Greats Heavy Trooper version and just remove the pauldron and buy some E-11's from Marauder Gun Runners to turn them into regular troopers since they are available for retail still. For Han, you could get the recent ROTJ version seen here >>10735973 but it is definitely not the ideal version since it's half a new figure and half reuse from the young Han from the Solo movie. For Luke you could go with the Imperial Light Cruiser version since it makes for a decent ROTJ Luke but he might be a little more expensive on the aftermarket now. Personally I would just wait on everything besides Vader and maybe the troopers. They haven't pipelined a new Han or Luke (besides the X-Wing version) but they'll no doubt come out with them in the near future.
>>
>>10741791
I was browsing "normie" boards at the time, and my god. The way people were gushing over Rogue 1 was pathetic. I remember people saying how it felt like Alien or a legit Horror movie. and people saying it was way better than the prequels. People obviously jizzing over the Vader scene. I went in expecting to see Vader literally hounding down "the cast" for like a halfhour stretch taking them out one by one. But no, they all just died randomly or when the planet blew up and the Vader scene was literally just 20 seconds of him pwning a couple randoms. Fuck Rogue One.
>>
>>10741820
looks pretty good. Chances are this is the new "definitive" Vader. I'm just hoping the handpeggs arn't as overly tight as the ROTJ one and that the QC is good. Figuarts has been shaky lately on some of the Dragonball stuff and the One Piece line looks like a complete shitshow.

>>
>>10742478
Marauder-knowing anon, do you know if their heads can fit onto (and look the right size with) recent TVC figures like the imperial officers and aldhani solider andor? I wanna have generic officers and they look like the best quality-to-afffordability solution to this problem, but I have no idea if the heads will actually work or not.
>>
>>10741557
I think now is a decent time to dive in. Probably the best it's been since TVC first began in 2010. Some of the character choices remain dubious -- I'm happy for KOTORfags but it's a little grating that we got a new Darth Revan while the new Han Solo is half good and half reused shit -- but in general the figures are better than they've ever been. Check out the Dark Times Darth Vader and see for yourself.
>>
>>10742646
I'm afraid I can't answer that accurately since I don't have any MTF figures but I would imagine the heads would be okay since they're supposed to be similar to modern era GI Joes and those heads don't seem too out of scale compared to SW stuff. Someone in the 1:18 General could probably give you a better answer though.
>>
>>10742646
>>10742883
I got a little curious and while this isn't MTF, it's a Renegades Duke figure and the new officer's hat fits surprisingly well on him. What might be a problem is the actual ball peg for the officer's neck joint. It's pretty massive compared to the size of the holes in Joe heads so you might have to make some adjustments with that when it comes to the MTF heads since they look to have a similar size in pictures.
>>
>>10742883
Oh I thought that general disappeared but I see it's there again, thanks for pointing out it's back, I'll go ask over there since it's a more general 1:18 question.

>>10742902
Yeah the neck ball socket size is my main concern aside from scale, it's tolerable if the hole's a bit too big but if it's too small that means I gotta try drilling it out or some such nonsense and I'd rather avoid that if possible.

For some reason I think Hot Toys gets much better reference material than everyone else and a lot sooner too. They had their Dark Trooper fully designed and solicited like a month after the Tython episode dropped. Meanwhile, Hasbro said they weren't even aware of their existence until they watched the episode and it took them a full year to put theirs up for preorder. And it looks like the same thing is happening with Ahsoka the White.

In fairness most of the Jedi Luke designs are so simple and similar that if companies are going to bother doing multiple iterations they should try to get the differences right. Yea, I bought an extra Airborne just to do that since it was a cheap Amazon Warehouse deal. Kept meaning to paint it to match his actual helmet, but then they announced the new one so I'm going to wait and see if they just do the swappable head and keep the AT to go with the others I have to back up Pre Vizsla.

Got my Aldhani Andors in from Amazon's Black Friday sale. Put some extra Joe heads on them for now. Also found these stunbatons and thought they were a perfect additional weapon for these guys to have. Especially since I can't find their accurate blaster for sale anywhere in TVC scale.
>>
>>10748769
That's a great figure. I bought it for 19 dollars and felt it was well worth it. It's my main Mace (why buy another?) and it's from the micro series. It's a win, win. I also found it for 4 dollars for my buddy loose. It's slightly bulk but it fits in with the style of the animated min series.
>>
>>10741058
I don't even know why you'd bother when her original figure has the same outfit, but a better face and body.
>>
>>10749672

>>
>>10749535
Nice shot, the purple lighting is a good extra touch. Did those other Joe heads go on fairly easily? The sizing looks correct from this photo, and if those fit and use roughly the same sized ball socket as Marauder that'd presumably make it a safe bet that the Marauder heads will work on 'em.
>>
>>10746458
he means the facial features are skewed and drifting to one side idiot, he doesn't mean the floating head bullshit
>>
>>10749759
Thanks. Yea they went on pretty easily. I used a Ray Stevenson Firefly and the unmasked head from the Retaliation G.I. Joe Trooper. There is a bit of a gap between the necks and the heads but I just did a dry fit without any heat to get them on so you might not have that issue. The only real problem is the hats. I had to put a bit of tac in them to get them to stay in place. They kept wanting to pop off but that's just with those two heads. The Duke I used in >>10742902 didn't have that problem, probably because he has hair for the sides to grip onto.

Also this thread isn't bumping anymore which is really frustrating.

Pre Vizsla is fucking great. It was obvious he'd be good just with the body they used but his portrait is incredible. The Darksaber is also much better than the one given to Moff Gideon since it has that crackling effect.
>>
>>10750268
I don't know how the TBS team dropped the ball on the head so badly. TVC head looks like the character, TBS head looks like some random cosplayer.
>>
>>10749535
what extra heads did you use for the soldiers?
>>
>>10750336
Me either. I think the Black Series one looks like Adam Sessler. That combined with the fact that they reused Jango's body has put me off from buying the figure. Which sucks as he was a character I wanted for a long time but I'm more than happy with the TVC one.

>>10750362
I posted it above but they are unmasked heads from the Retaliation Firefly and G.I. Joe Trooper figures.
>>
>>10750336
When I first saw the TBS Vizsla I actually didn't even recognize him, I thought it was some background Mando from The Mandalorian and it took me a second to notice he had Vizsla's helmet and markings.
>>
Being attached to the sequels probably makes it sales poison, but I wish we got this flashback Luke in TVC. The other two sequel Luke figures kind of suck and it would be a good all-purpose older Luke.
>>
>>10750620
I mean, you could probably do it by taking the Crait Luke head and putting it on the Jedi Master Luke body
>>
>>10750623
Yeah, but I don't think Crait Luke has a very good head sculpt at all. Call me picky but I think they can do much better.
>>
>>10750629
Yeah it's not great but at this point that's probably your best shot. Even main character costumes from the sequels aren't getting done now, a flashback scene version has basically no chance.
>>
>>10750632
I know, Hhnce why I called it sales poison. It's still incredible to me TVC/3.75" only got the one Kylo Ren figure from 2015. Hasbro is sitting on information that we don't have, but if you told me in 2015 we'd get something like fucking Vel before another Kylo I wouldn't have believed it. I still barely can.
>>
>>10750641
We're getting the legendary pegwarmer Finn reissued into TVC so nothing is exactly off the table
>>
>>10750646
It seems like they're doing it to gauge interest in seeing more sequel figures, but they chose the absolute wrong figure for it and when he fails to sell they're just going to say "oh well people just don't want sequel characters"

...which isn't entirely wrong but come on
>>
>>10750653
My guess is it's because we're approaching the 10th anniversary of TFA, so they probably want to get Finn out of the way so they can do Poe, Kylo, FO stormtrooper, and Rey reissues next year as another fan channel exclusive wave. That way they can avoid people calling them racists for excluding him
>>
>>10750653
>"oh well people just don't want sequel characters"
>...which isn't entirely wrong
Other than the Luke I posted above, there are a few I'd be interested in. TROS Emperor, another Kylo with better articulation and without the hood, Ben Solo. There are things I want more (namely updates of older figures) but I'd take these over a number of things we've gotten.
>>
>>10750653
I don’t why they at least don’t do Kylo. I think that’s one redeeming factor of those movies. Adam Driver’s talked the same way people used to talk about Ewan McGreggor was when prequel hate was popular. They never put out an unmasked version with good articulation. I’d like one, whether it just be an unmasked Kylo or a Ben Solo with the blue lightsaber. I think that character would sell fine. Certainly no worse than Andor characters or Reva or something.
>>
>>10750808
I think they're still afraid of doing anything sequel-related, so they're testing the waters with a safe option. Yeah, Finn's not going to be the best seller, but he's a figure they can reissue with faceprint and with zero new tooling and still call it a "new" figure. If he flops again, they don't really lose much.

Here are the top 10 for the Last Figure Standing fan poll. These aren't in any order as to not influence the upcoming voting rounds but there were some interesting facts. Such as Cobb Vanth had split votes between his armored version and the Sherriff version and still made it into the top 10. Next round of voting has started to vote for 5 of these characters and the top 6 will move onto the next round after that.

9 armybuilders and 1 named character is perhaps the biggest clue that my picks were doomed to failure from the start, but sure, here:
>imperial army guys from Andor
Most obvious currently-missed-opportunity armybuild figure, they have almost everything designed already aside from the helmet, which would also be the same helmet needed for the
>Mudtrooper
another seemingly obvious nearly-no-new-tooling figure people would likely buy multiples of regardless of liking Solo or not.
>AT-ACT driver
The last trooper design we haven't properly gotten from Rogue One, and a truly zero new tooling figure.
>Patrol Trooper
Another trooper design that's cool irrespective of the source material that I'd like to have with more than 7PoA.
>Thrawn's DT sentry droids
Would definitely be stuck at the deluxe pricepoint but could at least be a big enough figure to justify that, these guys were neat and different enough from the mando Darktroopers that making them wouldn't be redundant.
>Imperial Shock Stormtrooper
Don't really care about the first EAFront game, but the clone shock trooper has always been my favorite clone trooper so I want the stormtrooper repaint of it.
>the other 3 purge trooper variants from Fallen Order/Survivor
Having just the staff one hurts me a bit, these are easily the top 3 of the list for me personally and ideally on the VC45 body so they're not mismatched with the staff one I already have, these guys were more slender ingame anyway so the body works better here than it did for the average clone.
>Darktrooper Gideon
The suit was cool, it'd make a cool figure, and of all of these it's of course the most likely to happen eventually regardless of fan votes like this.

Overall it's 7/10 repaints and/or minor retools and 3/10 actually new figures, which feels like a semi-reasonable expectation for hasbro these days. I think all of these would do well at retail, but obviously not as well as ANH Luke and Obi-Wan so they never really stood a chance in this.

My local comic shop had a sale with some good stock of Star Wars figures. I got these three, which were eluding me for quite awhile (mostly due to the prices). They must have dropped in price over time. It was nice to get them in hand.

Obi Wan is a pretty good figure with all the modern articulation and that version has some decent accessories like the bag and the shawl. The Purge Trooper is alright even if it's not on the best body. Same with the Jawa. He's neat to have but if you don't have other ones to go with him he might not seem like much. Overall if you look at it through the lens that deluxe figures are $27 now, you are getting 3 entire figures for less than that which is a good deal.

Yeah, I was able to get Nikto and the ones I previously mentioned for around 12 bucks each. His hips are pretty terrible, but a lot of the older Jabba figures are pretty lacking in articulation. Thankfully, I don't need them to do much besides stand around, drink and point their guns at each other.

I kind of like this look for him more that his original outfit. I haven't seen the show but this figure is fun in general. I also got the mandalorian that comes with the spider and I like how it's like a mini playset
