Not much news to post rn so I'll start with a question. Where do you all usually go to buy your dolls? WM, Target, Amazon etc? And why that particular store.TRU was my main/favorite doll hunting ground. Always full to the brim with stock, best exclusives, and I loved that they had non-doll products of franchises like MH there too, like bags, stickers, stationary, jewelry, etc. So fun to look through. RIP TRU... things will never be the same.Now I go to Target and it's meh. Spotty, sparse stocking. Only stocking dolls like ILY 4ever at specific stores which is annoying. I do appreciate the 25% toy coupons they offer once in a while (including this week if anyone wants it) and the 75% off clearance for shelfsitters. Best option from what's left I guess.WM has like 8 dolls total in the whole aisle, strewn across one shelf and locked behind glass. Never stock the exclusives. Not even worth looking.

17 in frozen 2 pack for the movies 10th anniversary, $350. Pretty much the original dolls released years ago but with less detail. I guess it's nice for anyone who missed those dolls the first time. OG Elsa goes for over 2 grand on ebay. But it's kind of lame to basically do a rerun.

HOWEVER the shipping is crap. One Drac was smooshed and the Clawdeen's box is a little eh. But, if you're desperate or don't care about the box, sometimes you can grab goodies.I used to use Entertainment Earth and they can sometimes get you pre-orders but their shipping and markups are annoying and once they made me go through a whole fucking thing because I was ordering too many dolls (8) and they needed to confirm I was legit

I want to get my GF those collector MH Chucky and Tiffany dolls for her birthday. But she is extremely particular about dolls and if we go shopping she will compare and contrast like 10 of the same doll to see which has the perfect make up, that isn't offset and which doll doesn't have the slightest thing wrong with it. Turns out like most MH dolls have some production issues where something is off or damaged.Anyways, what is the chance this 130 dollar set will have no issues when I order it online, or should I just kill myself? Rainbow Jr High De'vious twins are on sale on Amazon and Target are they worth a buy or easy pass? I find the lack of accessories and extras kinda underwhelming. I have their older selves though.

Or a $35-40 for a costume ball.
>>10716358I think the difference is accessibility, a Mattel doll will be released once, bought up fast, then likely never released again, or their re-stock is spotty. MGA is great about restocking anything popular, if you don't catch it at first - there will be a chance to catch it again, to the point where you can be certain that it'll probably end up on sale or in clearance just from how much they over re-stock things.

finally got the rubbery non-vintage legs. it has been a long process because at first i didn't know what to look for and some sellers don't like to use the shipping service that vinted is using to my country and i was looking for a good deal etc.the left is a myscene chelsea and while this pic with the phone flashlight makes it look like not a great skin tone match to my CML98 barbie from 2015, it looks good from what i've seen so far under normal lighting. the dolls aren't totally perfectly skin tone matched to begin with, the original hard plastic legs are somewhat more ashy, a bit like the myscene arms, so the myscene legs might actually be a closer match than the original legs believe it or not.i don't mind the feel of the plastic legs too much now and with the doll stand i'm not touching them as much anyway. if i get more different dolls i don't think i will mind them having different types of legs as long as they're not damaged but for this particular doll i do think i prefer the rubbery legs with the internal snappy knee joints.i had in mind to maybe experiment with machine polishing and adding oil, lotions etc but they already cleaned up pretty well with just hand soap and water. i will have to try straightening them though because this doll was in trash condition, just the legs might be salvageable so that's how i got it for cheap but even the more expensive dolls with this type of legs tend to have them be slightly bent out of shape.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axLFaBM5_AI

I've been considering starting a proper collection, always wanted to but ended up prioritizing other toys, and would like some recommendations on series, and if you know any, stores to buy from. Main hurdle I've come across is living in Brazil, which means importing can be costly and local prices are often times sketchy.I have found some stuff on my own, like a few Cave Club dolls and the occasional Monster High for fair prices, however I am more interested in dolls with inset eyes as I don't own any.
