Just like the movie
>>10635956New Bee is tiny, even smaller than modern Minibots, are Legend class back, or deluxes are shrinking again?
What are some must have MPs that aren't 400 bucks
>>10635962Skids and its mold mates.
I’ve been watching Beast Wars what’s the best overall line to collect if I want the characters: kingdom, reissue, original? I don’t really do MP
>>10635961Small characters are small, instead of inflated to giant size for no reason.
>>10635961would he qualify as a large Core?
>>10635972"Muh engineering" means that he's probably going to be deluxe regardless
>>10635962well I would say Dinobot, but it's only "not 400 bucks" in the sense that I literally cannot find it anywhere except knockoff.
>>10635973he does have an impressive amount of engineering for a guy so tiny. shame it's so poorly implemented, and used for something nobody wanted in the first place (so much easier to just make the hood and bumper become the shins and feet.) were they bored and wanted a challenge? did someone bet the designer he couldn't make the hood rotate 180 during transformation?
>>10635976It's so weird they didn't make the bumper feet a thing since that's something G1 style and Animated style. The only logic I see is if they plan for Bee to be retooled into something else but who even matches up with a design like that?
>>10635985well that and it just looks cooler this way. someone who worked on this probably just didn't care about or know about Bee. he's always looked stupid.
>>10635990Seems like it's suffering from the same thing Armada Megatron, Laser Prime Skyquake, etc... They changed parts of the transformation (or look) for the sake of it and the toy suffers for it.
>>10635985I feel like this is the problem with the Animated ones so far is that you have to sacrifice so much of the stylization in order to not only fit into the G1 aesthetic but also to play nice whenever they decide to retool these guys in the future as well
>>10636003It's still a headscratcher on who that might be, while the bumper feet can easily match up to like a billion other characters easily. Like >>10636000 said, it's just an odd change for change's sake.
>>10636005Not to mention it's just unnecessary, the Bee body is used by several animated characters so they can get their monies worth with repaints.
>>10634723that res with the shitty 12MP camera just looks like enlarged ass. at least crop the subject ffs>>10635625if i wanted to browse that faggy website i'd just go there
>>10635966kingdom for accuracy, articulationreissue/original for goofy busted ass toys that just about work as intended
>>10635188Ohh thanks for the enthusiasm, but for now nothing is definitive, I just collect bios until I finish my job training & know how to properly set a website with SQL & stuff>>10635961Scout class are back on the menu
>>10636000What's wrong with Armada Megs's transformation, he's totally accurate I thought? Only thing that springs to mind is the face flap not sliding out but instead folding, but desu I think I prefer that, since the original one had a problem with being loose on some copies and either falling back down or rattling around.A better comparison would be Legacy Armada Hot Shot. They fucking massacred my boy there, just the same as they did with TFA Bee...
>>10636027Why don’t we get chrome paint on transformers anymore like with the trans metal figures?
>>10636053Extra steps that feel pointless when the original was a straight forward:-Arms out-Lower face flap -Untab the legs-Rotate legs-Transformers feetThe new one has extra steps for the arms and torso, and you need to move the Turret out of the way for the transformation anf attack mode. Despite those extra steps, the arms don't even lock in place and the arms/legs don't connect properly in vehicle mode (a chunk of torso ends up there, fucking up the tank mode). Then there's the useless detachable turret made of soft plastic, with some copies having it misaligned with the barrel or just falling off easily because the peg hole is too wide.
>>10636061Forgot to add, they added an extra swivel for the missile launcher (for some reason), but now it can't face forward because they didn't add the clearance for it on the Legacy version.
>>10636060vacuum metalised plastic is preddy expensive fren
>>10635961So, around ER Cliffjumper height? With the current prices, he's an easy pass.
Among all of Animated Legacy Bee's issues, the one that bothers me a lot (second to the arms) is the clear plastic. If they had to use it, why didn't they use smokey black? It looks awful with just normal clear plastic.
>>10636097>what if Animated but actually good designsI will now watch your show.
>>10636097They don't match eachother at all what the hell. Its like Hasbro made 3 different people design these separately and told them to never talk to eachother.
>>10636060It flakes off
>>10636105Bulkhead is Prime, not animated, but the toy is still a horrible likeness. The only comparison is Prowl, which felt like a decent enough combination of both asthetics that it worked, not sure what the hell is going on with Bee.
>>10636105Bulkhead's supposed to be the Prime universe one.
>>10636097So Bee actually has wrist rotation, there were some people saying he didn't.
>>10635961Kek, this is more retarded than Studio Ironhide being a "Voyager" and that was already in crayon-eating territory.
>>10636103As someone who didn't like the designs I will say I found myself wanting more of the show once it was over, its worth being given a chance
>>10636034Awesome. I'll be looking forward if you ever go through with this.
>>10635956What's the reason behind doing this?
>>10636097I just realized the feet aren't "regular" transformer feetThey're sculpted to look like his car front feet with the "boot sole" detail, but its' all unpainted
>face fan wonPlate bros we lost
>>10636254>>10636257>>10636262Looks pretty good. I'm waiting on the Powermaster upgrade kit
>>10636257>>10636262I can understand changing the legs, but why would they change the torso transformation? it was already perfect
>>10636263I can feel wing upgrade as exclusive with plate head. Also now I wait for Motormaster digi.
>>10636254>>10636257>>10636262The contrast between this and Bumblebee is night and day.>>10636264Legay has been full of needlessly complicated transformations for no clear reason.
>>10636254>>10636257>>10636262I don't know how to feel about this.
>>10636264>>10636269I also just realized the vehicle mode is inaccurate, animated OP had 4 wheels, not 6
So are we just going to get everything leaked before Pulsecon?
Even higher resolution>tried to save it and it wants to save as a avif formatThe fuck is an avif. Why are browsers out to kill jpgs and pngs so much
>>10636280No, Thundertron, Tigerhawk and rest is for friday.
>>10636280Not leaked, publicly revealed: https://screenrant.com/transformers-legacy-united-official-details/
>>10636288>Not leaked, publicly revealedOh, pardon me
>>10636292>>10636294The only reason I might get this is because my Animated Bee's shoulder joint cracked and I don't know how to properly repair the cup section of a balljoint without it just breaking again right away.
>>10636282SSGE Optimus got a new buddy now.
>>10636263Those ports on the wrists are ripe for grapple hooks upgrades too
>>10636288>"United" is the third chapter of Transformers Legacy, a subline of toys collecting characters from every version of Transformers, that began in 2021 as a followup to the War for Cybertron trilogy. Where most Transformers toy lines just get replaced upon completion, the second year of Legacy's life saw it continue as Legacy: Evolution. United represents the third year of the ongoing series celebrating the Transformers multiverse. This is for that anon who believes that Legacy continues after Kingdom and should have War For Cybertron and Generations as part of the name.
>>10636282Yeah the 2009 one did it better.
>>10636306More like did it chinner. The new one looks better.
>>10635956I use the pyramid rule for squads; never have more bots in larger size classes than you do smaller bots. I typically like 1 leader/voyager, 2 deluxes, 3+ scouts. It doesn't have to be a perfect pyramid, but having like 3 voyagers to one deluxe and one scout would really trigger my autism.Does anyone else follow certain "regulations" when building squads, or is it just anything goes?
>>10636310A size balance is important but I think colour balance matters more in my bookKeep it varied... until it crosses a line where unity pulls through like the dinobots
>>10636306So glad I grew up with this, instead of this >>10636282Hopefully they get Leader class Megs right, I love my animated copter but hate the legs on them. Insane haw big it is and came with lights voice and sound all for $40.
>Prowl looks great>Prime looks great>Bee looks like shitWhy did he get fucked over?
>>10636282The only negative or two is the feet has been simplified like Bumblebee and his pecs have been nerfed compared to >>10636306 but other than that looks good and with ER Optimus and Armada Optimus it'll be the Three Amigos.
>>10636268Really like that artwork, can't wait to see the product mural for United on Friday. I have a feeling that Leader Class Optimus toy will be a trailerless Armada Optimus in Powerlinx colours and probably comes with his gun and a Minicon to compensate.
>>10636257This is literally the only TFA redo that looks good so far. Probably because they didn’t retardedly G1ify it and it’s basically just the original design but with more greeble.
>>10636335Quite possible since "Galvatron" repaint is coming for Megs and possibly Tidal Wave as commander.
>>10636328Bulkhead? They stick to their G1-ification then make Prime look more or less like Animated. Also gonna be honest I don't get the Bee hate. It looks about like I'd expect it to, with an Animated Bee head stuck on top.
>>10636316>colour balance matters more in my bookThis. I like doing color-matching squads, but what looks best, I think, is squads that all operate from a larger shared palette. Not every bot needs to be "in uniform", but there needs to be some color overlap. The exception to this rule, for me, is white. It's such a bold color that if you have it, I feel it does look best if it's part of the uniform. The little white shoulderpiece on Repugnus in picrel bothers me, but the rest of his colors match well enough that I can overlook it.
>>10636288Is there a stream happening or something?
>>10636254There most likely saving it for the Buzzworthy repack.
>>10636372On Friday this week. This is just Hasbro getting the starters out to promote every Pulsecon livestream they do by having (insert website name) officially reveal two toys from the 1st wave.
well done Legacy faggots, well done!HOWEVERyou forgot the mouthplate
>>10636397I'm sure there will be some store/site-exclusive version with a mask, packaged in with something nobody wants and priced at $80.
>>10636397So did the animators, lol
>>10636397Animated Optimus was more mouth than mouthplate even though I prefer the latter.
>>10636406>>10636407optimus always had the mouthplate, he was seen with it more than his lips which was only shown whenever he talks and he rarely talks in the cartoon
>>10636405Commander Class Animated Optimus with the full firetruck and jetwings.
>>10636412You're full of shit
>>10635966The originals have some charm and can have fun action features, but the engineering and accuracy of likeness is better on the new stuff. Watch vintage figure reviews and decide for yourself what you like.
>>10636419Especially since it got so rarely used in Season 2 fan that fans actually asked show staff "is this to show Optimus's development as a leader and being more capable at fighting decepticons" and the response was "um actually we just never mentioned it in the storyboards so the overseas animators just never drew it"
>>10636407I think, for actual, original, Animated Optimus, I prefer no plate as the standard. It just fits better with his personality. The Legacy redesign might look better with one, though, I dunno.>>10636412>he was seen with it more than his lipsSo you didn't actually watch Animated? Neat.>>10636414This I could get behind. I'd be curious if anyone can find any evidence of future combination ports/tabs on Optimus once we have him in hand.
>>10636254>>10636257>>10636262Aside from the weird feet, damn this actually looks good. Just the animated design but blockier and greeblier, it actually looks the part. Also I just wanna say the united box colors are SEXY
>>10636254What do we think of United's box art?
>>10636423It's probably very tiring trying to remember consistently that Optimus must deploy his mouthplate every time he fights and only does so in cool moments like his final fight with Megatron. Plus Animated Optimus with his mouth got stuck in a lot of people's mind more than with his mouthplate.
I will NOT buy Convobat and Skull. I simply won't do it. A guy like me just ain't gonna do something like that. It wouldn't be wise, I just bought Roadtrap and the Counterforce Pack. I just won't do it. And I shouldnt, sl I wont.
>>10636257>Face wonWhy god why?>The feetWould it look better if the lower rims are colored black I wonder?
>>10636426At the very least we can see right now he has ports on his wrists, which could potentially fit his grapplers or his wingblade form's arm gauntlets.
I quite like that new Optimus. TFA Optimus isnt my favorite but I can see that design and toy making somebody very happy.
>>10636426Same. Face, it's Animated Optimus Prime. Faceplate? Reads like like some bad imitation Optimus.
>>10635956wait, that bumblebee got a goldbug repaint?
People actually like this Zoomer animated Shite?
>>10636436Oh, but you will
>>10636489Animated is 16 years old, shitposter-kun
>>10636496Not him but he's technically right, the kids who grew up with animated are zoomers. But they're the good ones, if you want zoomer shite then look no further than the unicron shit trilogy that almost bankrupt this franchise and plunging it into the dark ages.
>>10636292Okay, the shoulders look better here (guessing they were mis-transformed in the leaked images), but the feet and legs are still inexcusable, as well as the face.>>10636282>>10636288Also, can they make up their fucking minds on whether they want to retain the stylized aspects of Animated or not? Prowl is just straight G1. Bumblebee is G1 everything except his face. And now Prime has the scrunched cab face that absolutely doesn't fit in G1 style. Pick one or the other, Hasbro, you can't do both.
>>10636328Because Animated Bumblebee is a shitty design. If they did Legacy United Animated Huffer the toy would be bad ebcause the design is so shitty.
Oh man, I love this little scorpion fella
>>10636538How big is the mp chopper? Saw him for like 100 used
So how come the Beast Wars characters weren't G1-fied? Why did they get to have show accurate toys?
>>10636531>And now Prime has the scrunched cab face that absolutely doesn't fit in G1 style.I think it fits with general CHUG style well enough. The redesigns are more about altering specific style hallmarks and proportions than anything else. Really, the only major differences between Legacy Prowl and the original Animated design are the proportions and a bit of the helmet, which is really also just in service of the proportions.imo, Bulkhead is the only really weird outlier figure here. It almost feels as if his body was intended for something else and they turned him into Bulkhead by giving him a different noggin.
>>10636545We've been through this about a hundred times: Beast Wars is literally G1. It takes place in the same timeline as the cartoon. The characters physically appear onscreen alongside each other.
>>10636545I know that this is probably bait, but please.

>>10636561Sorry for accusing you like that, it's just that I've seen this discussion so many times I was certain someone was just baiting at this point.
Jesus Christ, TFW2005 is full of passive aggressive slights directed at you but also anyone who has an opinion…
>>10636559I wouldn't have expected a Slug reissue before Grimlock, but I'll take it. Maybe they're waiting to reissue normal Grimlock since Shattered Glass and G2 versions were released not long ago. I just hope they eventually do, cause I missed him and Slug.
>>10636582Hasbro does try to avoid having more than one version of a mold out at a timeSo a SS86 Grimlock probably won't happen until at least whenever they consider Toxitron to have run its course
>>10636578>Using tfw2005 forumsI found your problem
>>10636559I feel Slag is the weakest of the Dinobots but honestly that's not saying much since they're all very strong toys. He's just victim of a design that never knew what to do with its own kibble compared to its peers.
>>10636544Nta but hes fuckan BIG. Easily like 16 8nches long.
>>10636598Nice. Didn't like the movies really but he's a big boy and a good price.
>>10636602My man you will not be disappointed. Transformation isnt as bad as I'd expect from a bayverse dude and he looks awesome. Is plenty poseable too. For a hundo, I say pounce on it- bit also find out why its that cheap too.
>>10636592Yeah, as much as I hate /tfg/ sometimes, it's still miles better than most other communities because at least if someone is being retarded here, you can call them a retard without getting banned and move on with your life.
>>10636254>>10636257>>10636262You guys actually liked this one? The truck mode is fucking dogshit. Also >unpainted wheels>unmasked
>>10636616I've never bothered trying with other transformer places online since landing here many years ago. This is good enough and I don't think there's anywhere else I'd rather be.
>>10636288is it just me or do the Truck wheels look way too far behind the Cab?
>>10635956boy, I never thought I'd have nostalgia for this era of toys, but here we are. with how things have been lately, there's something really charming about having alt modes with this much character.>>10636625yeah, when I get fed up with things here, I just leave for a while and don't interact with "the community" at all.
>>10636631It's not just you, the wheels are so far back they added an extra pair of wheels under the bumper. It looks like crap.
>>10636578To be fair, there's a lot of people with real shit taste on tfw Thinking back to the time on a legacy armada prime thread where a father/son duo decided not to get it because, of all things, it doesn't auto-transform into an immobile brick like the originalSome people are just monkey brained
>tfw buying too many transformersI have 5 in the mail. 6 if you count Battletrap as 2 bots. I'm too damn impatient and have money. Help me /tfg/
>>10636634That's how the truck mode looked in the show though. The wheels under the bumper are added in order to balance the toy.
>>10636638Limit yourself, I don't have a hard limit myself but generally slowed down to maybe one or two a month, depending on what's out when. Some months go by and I don't buy anything, one month I might get five or six. Just don't make yourself think "I have to get them all" and you'll be okay, I had that mentality for a while and wound up with bins full of figures I have no shelfs for.
>>10636616>>10636625Yeah, i really like the feel of the anon image board format better than anything else. There are an increase in people being annoying and stirring shit on purpose but thats much more bearable than dealing with the sorts of inculture and self importance that breeds in forum spaces. Twitter was a decent substitute and i talked with a few people there but thats gone now, and fuck if ill join a discord or go to insta to talk about toysI just wish we had a better mod here, theres usually just a few people who shit up the threads and if they got banned for it instead of rewarded with 100 yous wed be much better off
>>10636641nah dude on the animation model the wheels are close enough to touch the bumper, not a quarter of the way down the rear of the truck.
>>10636636I would love to see that post because that is the most ridiculous excuse for not getting the new Armada Optimus which is a great toy. Also reminds me of a guy called rikkomba on that site, impressive Armada collection but gave Legacy Armada Optimus a glowing review of 6/10. Why? Because and I quote:>The cab looks great by itself and when pulling the trailer; the robot mode and super robot mode are quite good. Unfortunately, Armada Optimus Prime IS Superbase Optimus Prime, and this trailer is a complete disaster - an insult to Armada and the Unicron Trilogy as a whole.I guess this is what we could call a geeuan-gied Armada OP... the problem is that even Powermaster Optimus Prime and G1 Ultra Magnus have better base modes than this thing.I don't want to turn this thread into shitting on TFW2005 people's shit taste but come on, there was no way you were going to get the old base mode and somehow give the legs actual articulation. Nothing is perfect, accept compromises and look at the bigger picture instead.
>>10636648that's only because on the animation model, the bumper extends for the entire length of the cab. The wheels are, proportionally, still in the same place. Some of you guys legit have the cognition of a toddler.
>>10636254I thought plastic packaging was coming back next year.
>>10636643True, thats what I need to do. Part of it right now is that having come back to Transformers afte rso long I feel absolutely spoiled. So many old favorites and cool concepts have had sweet new figures with excelent articulation, its sort of kind blowing. Before I bought MPM Blackout my last experience with Transformers was the Energon era and good lord things have changed and much improved.
>>10636663Not for us sadly. We got plastic ties only.
>>10636282>>10636288Fuck this looks actually good. Like, I can see why Bee is so shit, all the United Animated Budget went to this son of a bitch right here, and I'm honestly fine with that.Gonna absolutely pick this glorious bastard up
>>10636616Yeah that and the anonymity as well as no likes system makes this place easy to get into and out if you need to take a break. Meanwhile over in that fancy website with an identity, reputation and the need to be right is important and you need to keep that shit up if you want to be heard or known. That shit taxes your brain and devolves you into a rambling idiot as time goes on.
>>10636667In that case anon pick a sub-collection to go for, rather than casting a wide net onto everything that you missed over the last 20 years. Easiest is to go for modern versions of the G1 guys if that's your thing, there's never been a better time for it. Alternatively, BW guys or a set of movie figures, whichever thing grabs your interest the hardest.
>>10636262>>10636257Man, i was already into it, but the more i look at it the more i really like itNever watched animated, came out when i was out of the hobby, and dont particularly care for the designs, but this toy just looks really good, much better than er optimus
>>10636641>>10636658Nah, you are stupid faggot. The wheels were on the middle in the actual show and the bumper wasn't that big.https://youtu.be/yg_mhCCyws4?si=aPbMtW3RmkOnsXBQ
>>10636679>Meanwhile over in that fancy website with an identity, reputation and the need to be right is importantI mean, that's arguably true here as well. People will continue making stupid arguments thread after thread, only instead of being for internet clout, it's just because they can't let something go and/or want to stir shit up. Not sure which is more pathetic, honestly.
>>10636680I kind of am, that subcollection being "updates of figures I had as a kid" and "universal monsters" (of which I have Draculus and Franky is ordered) more or less. Hence why I have Blitzwing with Crosshairs and Battletrap on the way. I nabbed a Snapdragon for a good deal and and now a Sideswipe and the WFC Slamdance coming, and those are ones I always wanted as a kid. As for Battletrap, all I had as a kid was the Heoi part. So I just had this shitty springloaded Helicoptor that became a head... so I had unfinished business.
>>10636688Good thing it's anonymous and you have no idea who you're talking to
>>10636690It's satisfying to update your familiar childhood collection with new modern toys, you'll enjoy Battletrap he's cool. Over the years I've settled into collecting basically the entire Cybertronian race from G1, I don't really have an endpoint where I think "I'll have them all and can stop". Life's the journey, not the destination.
>>10636688At the very least, it's fun to jump from talking about which forgotten ROTF Scout do we have as a desk buddy to which UT girl we wanna motorboat the most, that's something no other TF community succeeds at.
>>10636694Seeing as he'pl not only have 2 halves but actual articulation, actual transformation, and 2 bot modes as well, he was a no brainer the second I saw him. I wish Skytread/Flywheels/Slamdance got the sake treatment but still the update on them is awesome too.I'm gonna take a break as soon as these all arrive and then get Convobat and Skull so I can have an Optimus and a Megatron for my collection.
>>10636688Couldnt have put it better myself>>10636695Thats another thing i really appreciate, since theres no names, you can jump between conversations without someone trying to derail one thing with the other
>>10636688>that's arguably true here as well. People will continue making stupid arguments thread after threadTwo faggots eating up half the bump limit because one's intentionally arguing in bad faith and the other's a retard that has to have the last word?Definitely never happen around these parts
>>10636701It's tough to say which direction I prefer between Battletrap and Skytread. It's great having individual bot modes for Battletrap, but Skytread feels more solid all around. I enjoy both, and it's a nice bonus that they can swap halves with each other.
>>10636686>The wheels were on the middle in the actual showSo you're saying the Legacy version gets it perfectly right, then?>>10636705>since theres no names, you can jump between conversations without someone trying to derail one thing with the otherThat's probably the biggest benefit to the anonymous system.
>>10636695I've been to a forum where one guy thought he was being clever by calling Cybertron Metroplex "Notroplex" because it was an insult to the G1 character or something. These are the people who post on those sorts of sites.
>>10636714Since I'm getting Slamdance I'm wondering how Slamtrap and Skydsnce will look. Theres a chance the combos could surpass their intended pairings...
>>10636680The current subcategories I've moved into grail status are a complete recreation of the Primus Vanguard and a whole rainbow squad of MP-10s
>>10636720Every time I think people here are being way too autistic I hear shit like this and realize this is probably the least retarded sphere of the TF community.
>>10636715>So you're saying the Legacy version gets it perfectly right, then? The one that looks nothing like show or the sheet model? Imbecile. The 15 year old voyager got it almost right, it only needs to have the back wheels closer to the front ones. And no dumb training wheels needed. So what is your excuse?
>>10636641A bit of paint helps a lot.
>>10636738You forgot to color the "soles" of the boots in truck mode, they'd be visible flipped upside down in the back there.
>>10636707>Two faggots eating up half the bump limit because one's intentionally arguing in bad faithcase in point >>10636737
>>10636690Oh I also forgot I have a boxed/blisteredoriginal Beast Wars Iguanus and a boxed/blistered reissue Terrorsaur. I bought those at a great price with the intention of flipping them, but I have come to realize I just cant do it. I'm giving one of them to my brother, but if I end up keeping Terrorsaur I'm opening him up since hes just a reissue from last year.

>>10636720I am now reminded of a guy called primalxconvoy or something along the lines who gets triggered by anything Sakamoto draws because apparently you can't draw sexy girls, it will offend them and he says this by asking 2 girls he knows and both find Sakamoto's drawings creepy which is enough to label him 'Sikomofo'.Good thing he's not well liked by anybody, not even in the most wretched places and is as far as I know banned from everywhere.
>>10636788You made me double check, it's the same guy.
>>10636186yeah i watched it later and the writing and sense of adventure were super on point. plus the art looks a lot better in the show than it did on promos. simplifying it further for animation seems to streamline it down nicely.
>>10636215my fucking sides>>10636254why would it not include two headsanyway this might be the best 'animated' one so far.
They're gonna do a little Ratchet too, right? I want one.
>>10636282>Why are browsers out to kill jpgs and pngs so muchwhatever lets you control and own and freely access your downloaded media is verboten to them
>>10636296so now you'll get one whose shoulder is pre-cracked!>>10636300well excuse me for being confused, but this is 100% in violation of what you told me last time! you said legacy was just legacy, no subtitles.
>>10636811Ratchet came out a year ago.>>10636810Shame Hasbro hates alt heads. No Nozzle or grappling hook is also dissapointing.
>>10636310that makes total sense
>>10636811Anon, little Ratchet is already out.
>>10636430yeah those are good box colors
>>10636496yeah and that is gen Z. stop acting otherwise.it's been a long generation, and there isn't going to be another one after it. Y was short as fuck, it lasted like 13 years.
>>10636561on top of that, they had a new dumb cg cartoon at the time putting beast wars guys alongside g1 guys. it was awful, but because it existed, sticking to it for the toys made sense. not that it did really stick to that show's designs.
>>10636819Hasbro's been doing lots of alt heads lately tho
>>10636632i wasn't even there for that era but i've had nostalgia for it since the first time I saw Springer. and i don't even care about vehicle guys. he just looks so 90s-cool.
>>10636793Well there's little doubt that everyone hated his guts. Not even Allspark could stand him.
>>10636819>>10636823Well shit and there's a $10 late tax to boot. Damn.
>>10636818Yes, it doesn't have War for Cybertron or Generations subtitle in its name. It's just Legacy, which was then followed by Legacy Evolution and now Legacy United.
>>10636254>>10636257>>10636262>>10636282>>106362883P will make the Faceplate and others but man nothing can save this turd here >>10636292>>10636294The Bee is a colossal waste and awful
>>10636831Mostly on multipacks and some exclusives. Even then, not all figures in a pack get their alt head included. So yeah, not really sure I'll get animated Prime, sin e I'm betting the only way to get a complete one is to get a future Jet Wing Release (that one won't have the face or axe).
>>10636663golly, a lie from hasbro? no way
>>10636282I guess I shouldn’t have expected anything perfect, especially after getting everything I wanted from Armada Prime. I like a lot here, but the axe looks bizarre and the lack of faceplate is a bummer, but not enough to kill the sale. I’ll pick it up and rue the day they do a Jetwing set.
>>10636838well that's dumb. the first one needs a subtitle too or it's just confusing. "wait do you mean legacy-legacy, or legacy trilogy on the whole?">>10636833i bet everyone hating him and treating him like shit probably didnt help the matter. but these days it's usually just a lot of autism
>>10636848Well we know theres a Motormaster repaint comingPlus any Gen Selects repaintsPlus between Prime, Bee, Prowl, and Bulkhead that's enough for Pulse or Buzzworthy to do a multipackPlus Takara has been firing up their own side of things againSo I reckon theres a good chance to see some alt versionBesides, even if *none* of that happens Prime is still a wave 1 voyager so you will still be able to find him on shelves in a year
>>10636856Now that I can agree on, because despite it being the Legacy Trilogy, Evolution and United are treated as a continuous wave rather than it's own chapter like what was done with the WfC Trilogy, so technically toys from Evolution and United are still treated as Legacy toys in the same way as those from the Legacy line itself.
>>10636868Buzzworthy elite guard multipack, make it happen
>>10636578I can barely navigate the shitty layout
>>10636868I fucking hope the face mask is included if they make the cancelled Super Animated Prime. I've always wanted that guy, such a cool design.
>>10636871I think that has to do with Legacy not having any tie-in media
>>10636884A blessing in disguise since apparently F.J Desanto proposed the idea to make a Legacy tie in Netflix show by making the plot a Secret Wars type story, where Transformers from different universes are transported into the War For Cybertron Netflix universe and are subsequently reformatted into 'G1 bodies'. Intriguing, but I don't trust anything F.J Desanto does and Hasbro should find a better showrunner if they ever go back to doing that.
>>10636262Huh. I had to go back to look at the source material for this one because the hidden front wheels looked weird. So it turns out they drew him this way _alot_ early on when they couldn't decide if he was supposed to be a truck cab or a short firetruck. It doesn't look too out of place with the rest of a fire truck attached. But then once they dropped that, those wheels shifted forward, like the toy that had to be able to balance regardless of what the animators did.
>>10636895That always seemed to be the implied story they'd make vague reference to during presentations
Why'd they make his thighs black? It's not doing him any favors making him look more like an Evergreen Bee. He'd probably look a lot better just with yellow thighs honestly. Also:>Clear torsowas it really worth making the windows see-through for thisPrime looks really good though.
>>10636292>>10636294Feel like I'm in the minority for actually pretty well liking this guy, at least a lot more than the Earthrise CliffBee mold. He doesn't quite capture Animated Bee but he does give off a sorta neo-G1 vibe similar to Classics which I dig and he looks posable and fun to transform. Really wish he just had painted black windows like Prime though, the clear plastic just doesn't look good.
>>10636904I believe F.J Desanto took that concept of characters coming from different universes all into one world and tried to model it after Marvel's Secret Wars story. Because otherwise a straight Isekai crossover would've worked as well but that may have been considered too simple by Desanto's standards and want's something more conspiracy. I don't know exactly what he thinks but that seems to be the logical thought process.
I hope they retool bulkhead. I want the stupid kibble chair
>>10636625Well I've been to most of them at one time or another and if you can't stomach TFW, don't even try anywhere else. Allspark is super woke, a few others are run by Eurosnobs, TFormers and Seibertron users are glass-eyed NPCs, and the rest don't get enough traffic to bother with.
>>10636919How no one has made a replacement for the shield/tarp that attaches to his back yet I have no idea, but this
>>10636906>>10636909A smoky plastic instead of crystal clear would have gone a long way>>10636911Secret Wars was never a particularly complicated, or overly well written, story to begin with. It's already a toy commercial so blatantly ripping it off with another franchise should work a peach
>>10636868Motormaster, forgot about that. If that's true, then we might have lost out on a potential standalone voyager release with the mask, since Hasbro typically only has one alt head on a mold, so a mask might only appear on a potential retool or release with additions (Jetwing or Powermaster).
>>10636925>A smoky plastic instead of crystal clear would have gone a long wayDefinitely would be an improvement, but I really think replacing it with more yellow plastic and painting the windows would be for the best. Like what purpose do see-through windows even serve on such a little guy? It's not like there's any cool techno-details that hidden back there. As an added bonus it's probably make the boosters look better/more show accurate since they seem to be on the same sprue as the chest and windows and they were mostly yellow in the show
Yeah gonna need to paint those thighs on bee. On that note though, gave mainline Nightbird some paint, just a couple layers of Tamiya Nato Black. Given how similar the Studio Series is, might see if the arms can be transplanted to get the pinned wheels, but for now I'm pretty happy with her.
>Keep wanting to buy that Paddles upgrade kit>Everytime I check on, it gets delayedI jusr want a Paddles, a decent one.
>>10636954That's a paddlin'
>>10636951Im so butthurt that the ss sucks so bad, i like the mainline fine enough but i was really holding out hoping the ss would be a banger but they just covered her in more kibble and barely better paint, the one thing ss does great is that head, now im just gonna hold out and hope for a good 3p
>>10636871I guess of all the stuff I'd want them to fix about their company, "line names making sense" is not high on the priority.
>>10636919I liked how TFA did stuff like this and often had characters semi-transform or deploy their arks or legs or stuff.
>>10636777>wanting the part of the toy that touches surfaces the most to be painted
So how fucking hard is putting on toyhax stickers? I want the toxitron ones.
>>10636962Model kits might make a good one of her for the robot at least but I get ya, don't think any of us expected the SS to just straight up reuse everything from the mainline outside of the torso with some minor retooling, and it's not worth it when the backpack looks worse as a result. Kinda sucks too if you're in the camp like me who loves the mainline one, because most add on kits that would attempt her wings are probably going to favor the SS which aren't going to be compatible.Ah well... at least I can say the colors are nicer now. Though man, the shins are already flaking since they make contact with the sides of the car during transformation. Might end up scraping off the paint I applied to the front of the shins for that.
>>10636895that.. sounds interesting but I'm sure it would suck
What happened to the rumor that SS86 would end in 2025? At the rate they release characters for that line, it seems unlikely
>>10637016Might get renamed or fused into SS, like how SS randomly got game designs shoved into it.
>>10637015seeing them next to each other it's kinda impressive how much they fucked up the animated update
>>10637023Renaming makes sense, especially when they are considering including comics and cartoons in SSBut why not do that after the 40th anniversary of the movie in 2026?
>>10637028Fucked the original more.
>>10637016>>10637032Pretty sure that's just a rumor, IIRC the staff said in one of the livestreams that they'll continue to do SS86 regardless, even one brought up the idea of making a Voyager class SS86 Arcee sometime in the future.

>>10637045Probably once G2 and Shattered Glass run their course

>>10637037>Voyager class SS86 ArceeI remember that, and I wish I didn't.Other characters need an upgrade, like Blaster's cassettes, the Constructicons, Optimus, Astrotrain, etc. Some BB rereleases can fill the void, like Galvatron

>>10636954Paddles has a figure? And an upgrade kit? Pics pls
>>10637072i'm actually at work lol
>>10637004Why is she so fat
>>10636282>>10636288I.. really don't know how to feel.I love the more accurate proportions, but it only makes the extra details all the odder - the G1 leg vents, the panellines surrounding the front windows, that bizarre axe shaft and feet, etc... it's just odd. Also, the lack of grappling hooks or a fire extinguisher is sad.I'm glad it's a marked step in the right direction, but still not enough for what I want. I guess I can just hope that 2025 will get even more accurate figures... but in the meanwhile, I'll stick with my old Voyager plus the deluxe's axe. Even if the faceplate gimmick is a bit poorly implemented on it and I prefer him with his mouth, lmao.
Guys, whats the big difference between blaster from legacy and kingdom? So far i can only notice the collectible card
>>10637107Nonnef has been bring up a Paddles upgrade kit for Sludge since summer last year, and has constantly delayed it. It was supposed to finally release this summer, but now he delayed it to late October, early November.
>>10637119Both are inferior to the Twincast repaint.
>>10637119Same exact figure, he and core Rodimus were bumped forward to the end of Kingdom when Legacy got delayed.
>>10637119Literally nothing, but I think kingdom has a yellowing problem
>>10637119Apparently, paint on the head is different one is more silverish, the other whiter. Supposedly the Kingdom version looks nicer, both both toys suffer from early onset yellowing.
>>10637015>>10637023Christ this Bee is awful in like every way. Doesn't even look like Animated Bee

>>10637112Fat tits yea
>>10637131I'm wondering if they plan to do a minor retool so they can release it as G1 Bee, the toy keeps making me think of Classics anf TR Bee.
>>10636548In fairness, the intention was actually for it to be vaguely continuing G1, so it could be interpreted as a sequel to the cartoon OR the Marvel comic, while taking ideas from both. But yeah, regardless it is G1.
>>10636754Yes, but he's at the very end in wave 4
>>10637128>>10637127>yellowingOhnohnohnohno... shit, so sad it's a really cool figure>>10637125>twincastNothing personal but i prefer blaster color scheme
>>10637153Don't worry, some Twincasts are ALSO yellowing. You can't escape.
>>10637057NTA, has an Optimus ever done this gimmick well without sacrificing neck articulation or the look of the sculpt? Sincere question, iunno.
>>10637169Are they? I haven't seen any reports of twincast yellowing. Mine is still perfectly fine, at least.
Sell me on a specific Optimus figure.
>>10637173what are you asking about? retractable mouthplates? I don't think I've ever seen that done.takara movie primal has a pretty nice gimmick where the center third of the neapolitan icecream that is his head, can flip up, twist around, and flip back down to swap mouthplates... that works swell.
>>10637178It's less than on Blaster, but in the same spots. Hopefully this isn't a Dinobot case, where the yellowing starts cropping up on many copies two years later.
>>10637205Cybertron Prime did and his head was still on a swivel.
>>10637213well that's unfortunate, ball jointed necks are definitely preferablehow did it work for cybertron prime? where did the plate go when not in use?
>>10637210Which do you think is best?
>>10637191Siege Optimus is a solid figure. Both modes look cool, he has good articulation, and the transformation is fun and satisfying. My only complaint is his accessories don't look that great.
>>10637191Mp-01 Optimus Prime. It's transformation is fairly simple and it looks good in both modes. It comes with a megatron Walther PK, his signature rifle, and an energy axe you can attach to either arm. He has a matrix of leadership in his chest and you can press a button on his shoulder to let it light your darkest hour. Also has some panels in the forearms that flip open with stickers that represent a video communication screen with one character on each arm. You can also press a button on his head that causes his faceplate to move as if he is talking. It has diecast in the legs which is beneficial in stability, but hinders your ability to do dynamic kicking poses if that's your thing. Overall it's at least a 9/10 figure. I still love mine even though the leg on mine is damaged in a way that repair led to being unable to transform it anymore.Honorable mention: the Legends scale one they released a few years ago. It's engineering is pretty good for it's scale and price point.
Anon with the two G2 combaticons in his new collection reminded me that I have the FoC versions of those guys. We were harsh on them at the time and they deserve it, but I do like the way they look.Brawl is still a bitch to stand. Also why in the hell was this the only deco I could get at the time? The store release ones were all kinds of wrong.
>>10637191He fits in your pocket and comes with a buddy who also turns into a gun.
>>10637230imagine having thighs the same length as your pelvis, which itself is one fifth of the torso's length..
>>10637216Under the chin, you can barely tell it's there. Also, I barely care about ball jointed heads when most of the time, they get the same articulation as a swivel joint or less.
>>10637191If you can find it, mainline Voyager RotB Optimus. Small voyager, but a lot of fun. (gun's the closest thing I had to the canon, it's the skullcruncher beast targetmaster.)
>>10637243huh intereresting. wouldn't think he'd have space under there for a whole mouthplate.

>>10637265Then there's this dude. I distinctly remember the G2 toy having a black head. This one looks like he just wants to hide, like he's embarrassed to be part of this combiner team.
>>10637230>>10637265Blastoff looks pretty cool yeah. I know a Space Shuttle isnt tje most "military" flying vehicle out there but I prefer that cybertronian shuttle.mode over Combiner Wars "just another jet" mode.
>>10637045Slag won't be out until April next year, and depending on when Swoop comes out, Grimlock won't be reissued until Dec at the earliest.
>>10637283I kind of like that Blastoff, but not AS Blastoff if you get me, it's a good generic Decepticon flier but isn't the shuttleguy. I'm okay with a shuttle being on the military team, he can be a 'military shuttle' like the ones in Armageddon.
>>10637059>>10637037>Voyager ArceeAnd all because of Arcee's shitty G1 design. And guess what, G1 Arcee never had a back pack!
>>10637289>he can be a 'military shuttle' like the ones in ArmageddonSee, this bothers me. Why cant they just do that? Across time there have been a number of conceptual armed spscecraft, why not take insoiration from there? Or, hell, just do a normal space shuttle with guns on it why not?
>>10637218>My only complaint is his accessories don't look that great.I like his gun better than the Earthrise, and I think the axe/shield is pretty great, but I'm a sucker for weapons which can transform into different modes.
>>10637290Repeating Arcee over and over feels like designer copium. On the level of "adding another lane will fix traffic"This time we'll get it right for sure!
>>10637294>hell, just do a normal space shuttle with guns on it why not?101st Shuttle Door Gunners, ooh-rah houstonAlternatively Blastoff could be updated to be an X-37, that drone minishuttle the US has had for like 15 years. That'd give him something to do, observe the battlefield from orbit and give up to date intel on enemy positions while remaining safely away from all the Autobots but Cosmos.
Are we getting more junkions?
>>10637319We're moving onto Rocks now
>>10637257i guess so. but it seems to me generally the height of a mouthplate is greater than the depth you would expect under a transformer's chin, based on where the ball joint stem would logically be. a swivel wouldn't make that any easier really.

>>10637657well except for scale issues. but I think most fans would agree, all they had to do was tweak some scale and those old toys were fine as-is and need only be rereleased (at different sizes)

>>1063761908 was coming off a particularly low cost year for plasticyou can see when the plastic prices started to shoot up by comparing TFA toys to TFPrime toys (not first edition) and just how smaller they were.
>>10637737i still remember when the news was starting to report people were genuinely getting sick of news and not reading it anymore, so they engineered a fake fuel crisisand by the time they figured out it was just a blip and gas prices went back down, it was too late and a ton of grocery delivery companies went under and the hiked bus prices remained. nice job.
>>10637743I mean, it's not exactly a "fake" fuel crisisthe reality is there's a bunch of variables, and several players can tank it at will. So there's a lot of speculation, and fear, which drives prices up.Then you occasionally get a guy as president who just calls up saudi arabia and says "Can you stop that" and they listenbut that's like once every 30 yearsBecause of various advances, there's less volatility in the market now, prices are just not great

>>10637913>We already have 2 good Arceesstop having low standards.
>>10638006An Arcee figure is always going to be various levels of shit. It's just a terrible design that wasn't made with physical limitations in mind. A truly good, G1-accurate Arcee is just mostly unattainable.
>>10638042Not if we bring back spider Arcee
Went to TK MAXX looking for cheap Elita, sadly none were left. Well shit. At least more money for Powerlinx Hot Shot.
>>10638042T30 is just fine, I didn't even consider getting the newer one because what for, there's hardly anything different.
>>10636257>>10636262My only real complaint about this guy is that we've somehow gotten away from proper painted rims. Hard to tell if those wheels are pinned or just clipped, but there's been too much of that going on, too. We're really sliding back again, despite toys being more expensive than ever. They couldn't even spare some black paint for the feet?I wonder, given how popular Animated was in Japan, if we could expect Takara releases for these guys. Bumblebee's far from perfect, but personally my biggest issue is that his plastic looks like shit.
>>10637905Interesting enough Peter Cullen also voiced mazinger in megas xlr
>>10638059I imagine it was the "something had to give" because like Strongarm he's got a lot of face paint. And he's still missing some compared to the show but he's got a lot of apps all on his lippy visage.
>>10638070I think it was less "something had to give" and more "they weren't going to paint the rims/feet anyway but they had to pony up for the face to keep people happy at the barest minimum". But yeah, I dig ya.
Finally just decided to get that Netflix Megatron so I can have Pinpointer for my Crosshairs. One of the things I'm quite enjoying about modern Transformers is they seem to have standardized weapon ports. I really like that ability to mix and match.
>>10636215the saddest part is that the front of the car ended up as his heels. so its not even that they missed, they were extremely close to having it in the right spot but didnt. Im sure if they just went for one more engineering attempt they wouldve gotten that part right.
>>10638075>One of the things I'm quite enjoying about modern Transformers is they seem to have standardized weapon portsWeapon ports started to get standardized around Combiner Wars time; things like c-clips or proprietary ports were mostly phased out in favor of 5mm ports. Recently it feels like we're actually getting back to some bots having their own unique clips for the sake of storage, but yeah, 5mm is still the rule, more often than not.
>>10637191armada optimusmy personal favorite in the deluxe "bendy prime" from the og line because of its good articulation, but I think the new one has caught up (I dont have it) and has the trailer. if you want something that isnt complicated to transform and can give a lot of fun than armadas got you covered.
>>10638090I wasnt around during C-Wars but I'm glad they've made the move. While going through my old collection to sell itnoff I was losing ot trying to figure out what went with who. Probably didn't even get all of those right either.
>>10637290>G1 Arcee never had a back packbut anon, where will the vehicle mode go?
>>10638099Yeah, when I got into transformers around 2008, I was annoyed by all the figures that had no weapon storage, especially because I usually end up giving my bots even more weapons than what they came with. I'm definitely glad we're tucking weapon ports all over the place now.>>10638140Nice. I like this. It also reminds me I've been collecting for like 16 years and still don't have a Jazz.
>>10638146Lack of weapon storage has always bothered me. Like judt lemme put the gun somewhere other than just "around" please.
>>10638149>Weapon storageYou guys don't have a big bag 'o guns? I've got like 10lbs of just plastic weaponry and armor bits.
>>10638146>I've been collecting for like 16 years and still don't have a Jazz.Actually that's a lie. I absolutely have this Choro Q Jazz who is awesome, but I feel like I need a proper one. Also, this pic is from around late 2014 and if you look in the back you'll see what is probably the very first photographic documentation of "Keep on Glidin'". Some anon commented on the funny pose, so I took a better picture and that was the one that became the original meme.
>>10638154I have a couple of small boxes of various accessories with no permanent owner anymore. I just like to have ways for bots to hold on to the stuff that belongs to them, or that I decide belongs to them.
>Thanks for beta testinghttps://tieba.baidu.com/p/8610833672
>>10638162Cute Jazz, I don't have any of those SD guys. I do have a Legends I forgot to dig out though. The newest Jazz, the one on the end, is pretty great, I'm happy with mine and you would be too I'd bet.
>>10638167>they all look worseyoure welcome
Schedule is upI was going to complain that Transformers only gets 45 minutes but that's twice the amount others get
>>10638180>put the stuff people care about first>shit nobody's interested in afterThey didn't plan this one through did they
>>10638174Dragstrip without diarrhea brown is infinitely better
>>10638172>The newest Jazz, the one on the end, is pretty great, I'm happy with mine and you would be too I'd bet.Is that Studio Series? I told myself I'd buy him or even the orange G2 version if I ever saw them, but I never did, sadly. Part of me wants to get the old United one, but at that rate I think I'd actually rather have Ricochet/Stepper, who is upward of 100 bucks now. So yeah. It's a consistent issue with me. Distribution is always garbage in my region and I never see anything, so I start to think to myself that if I'm gonna pay absurd late taxes on stuff, I may as well go the extra mile and pay even more for something older that's a semi-grail.
>>10638172Wait a minute... one of these Jazzes seems sus...
>>10638196>Is that Studio Series?Yep, he's pretty much perfect and I heavily recommend him. The old RtS one was good too but yeah I get you on not wanting to pay late tax for something so old.
>>10638208>I get you on not wanting to pay late tax for something so old.Actually I was saying I'd prefer to pay late tax on something super old and relatively more rare than on something that I SHOULD have seen on shelves just a couple of years ago. Like if I'm gonna pay double MSRP for a figure from 2021, I may as well pay quintuple MSRP for something I've had my eye on for over 10 years.
>>10638223Fair enough, yeah if you're dropping $50+ on something deluxe scale then it can at least be something old/rare, spending a few more for RtS Ricochet instead of Jazz is reasonable then.
>>10638207Thats just his cybertron form>>10638196Ive got the ss as jackpot and the potp as ricochet and both are decent moulds but neither is really good enough to be my perfect jazz, the old universe mould also seems pretty dated but id like to experience it as kickover
>>10638249>potp as ricochetI very much don't hate the way this guy looks and I thought his car mode was neat and unique in spite of its flaws, but for a mold that I remember literally everyone dumping on, he's still like 30-40% over his original MSRP on ebayIt sucks. EVERYTHING just gets more expensive. You either buy new, or regret it.
>>10638182You're not gonna stick around to see which franchise Magic is gonna give the basketball American treatment next?
>>10638255>You either buy new, or regret it.
>>10638182Actually if you look at sales data from the quarterly reports dnd is by far their best property
>>10638255>a mold that I remember literally everyone dumping onHe's certainly not the worst non-combiner turned combiner in that series, I think that'd be Ironhide.
>>10638265They make Magic basketball cards? What?
>>10638279>I think that'd be Ironhide.Really? I've actually heard a lot of people say they still like him. Obviously he's not accurate worth a shit, but I think time has proven that accurate Ironhides are more trouble than they're worth. For the concept of "burly red non-car guy who serves under Optimus" I thought it was solid take with a really cool truck mode because we hardly ever get standard pickup trucks. I almost bought this mold as blue Breakdown on more than one occassion.I was never the biggest fan of combiners, but some of the limb bots were definitely appealing in a simple sort of way.>>10638266no lie detected
>>10638288lmao, I only just noticed his little Autobot badge belt buckle. Ironhide would totally have one of those.
Botcon 'Timelines' Weirdwolf showed up today! Normally, he came with Alpha Trion (repainted from Cybertron Vector Prime), but this one was being sold separately (but was still new and unopened in his original baggy). Weirdwolf himself is a redeco of Cybertron Fang Wolf (or 'Snarl' in the English version), and thus looks a bit more organic than his original toy or his Titans Returns version. Like Fangwolf, he has a Cyber Key-activated play feature - his wolf jaws open, revealing clear orange fangs; the feature can be used in both modes, and unlike other figures I have that use a Cyber Key, his doesn't 'lock' into place. As I understand it, this is intentional so that you can make him snap his jaws by pushing the key in and out without resistance, however it is possible to lock his jaws in the open position by rotating the tufts of 'fur' on his cheeks downward. He's also got a unique storage clip for his key on his left thigh (which becomes his right thigh in beast mode), which is pretty convenient. You'll notice he has a totally different head from both his TR and normal releases - according to the included bio card, this is Weirdwolf post an experimental 'de-Headmaster' experiment, which forcibly unbound him from Monzo. While successful, the procedure made him even weirder by turning him literally schizophrenic; he now talks to his wolf-headed hand as if it were alive and has named it 'Wolfie'.
>>10638294Here he is next to his Titans Returns version - this guy apparently came out in 2007, while the TR originally released in 2016 (and mine is the 2021 'Retro Headmasters' reissue). His robot mode is slightly taller and far boxier than his newer incarnation, and he lacks a moving waist; while he can move his hips backwards and forwards just fine, they don't really go very far to the sides, so he can't pull off any splits the way the TR version can, either. Neither version of him has any wrist rotation to speak of, which is bizarre because he's a sword wielder in all of his incarnations- while TR has a separate sword and huge cannon, Timelines' gun doubles as a sword by flipping the handle up and turning it around so the blade faces forward. Unlike TR, his gun actually shoots, having a spring-loaded missile. Despite how boxy Timelines Weirdwolf's torso is, I much prefer his proportions - he's less squat, and his head doesn't look so huge (one of my issues with Headmasters in general). Still, TR's torso and cooler looking shoulders (plus the extra articulation from waist rotation and actual hip joints) puts the later mold as the superior version.
>>10638280They have a whole line of basketball player toys, and they do crossovers with other properties. They did transformers magic cards, etc.So it's likely coming
>>10638296Beast mode. His transformation is pretty fun - instead of the standard 'robot mode goes on all fours' transformation scheme usually used for quadrupeds (like his TR version pictured next to him), Weirdwolf is a bit more involved than that - he pretty much turns completely inside-out. His wolf front legs fold out of his torso, his right arm becomes his wolf head (obviously), his left arm becomes the wolf's throat, his lower torso dislocates at a 90 degree angle and conceals his robot head (hence the lack of waist rotation), and his gunblade becomes his tail; his back legs spin around at the knee to finish the transformation. I've been looking for a good Wolf Transformer for ages, and while I now have a few (Beast Wars Wolfang, Beast Machines Quickstrike, and - of course - Titans Returns Weirdwolf), none of them really had satisfying wolf modes, but this guy actually looks like a wolf (while the newer TR one looks fairly awkward, especially around the back legs, and has a head that doesn't look even remotely canine - more like a rhino - and paws that look more like they belong on a bear than a wolf) and he can actually move and pose his legs and tail (sorry, Wolfang - you're cool looking, but you're a brick in beast mode). So the winner for the best Beast Mode here is Timelines Weirdwolf by a decent margin, even if his robot mode is beat out by his TR version; he also wins for having the most unique transformation scheme of the lot.Either way, I love both my Weirdwolfs (Weirdwolves?), and while I don't really keep my bots in a permanent display (I tend to transform all of them once or twice every few weeks), I think I'll be keeping TR Weirdwolf in Robot mode and Timelines in Beast Mode more often than not. As flawed as the robot mode is, I might still consider grabbing the Fang Wolf/'Snarl' version later - he just looks that cool.
>>10638288I dislike it as Ironhide but I do love that mold, Offroad is my absolute favorite of the member-replacement bots from CW. Rook is great too but Offroad is stylish as fuck and I welcome him as a new addition to G1.
>>10638302Yeah, it's funny - one got the robot mode almost perfect (just a little stumpy) but totally messed up the alt mode, while the other got the alt mode right but ended up with a box with no waist for the robot mode. If they ever do another version of this guy (and I doubt they would at this point), I'd like them to find a better compromise between both modes....Also, still keeping my fingers crossed for a modern Carnivac. It'll never happen, but I still want another wolf for my growing pack.
>>10638288always liked his headsculpt. Kind of a "Young Ironhide" vibe.
>>10638307too bad hes an earth truck, could fit in with an orion display
new thread: >>10638330
>>10638328How have they not done an Ariel from Elita or Arcee yet? You'd think it'd be obvious. Did they, and I just missed it?
>>10638043> a pink and white Black ArchiniaBA also has problems with her design as well.
>>10638334It was packed with Dion.
>>10638280It's just the new way of talking about black people. Whether or not that's because of 1 anon or not is still up in the air.
>>10638342Oh nice, she looks pretty good. Weird to give those bots guns though, if they'd had guns things might've gone very different right at the start.
>>10638081they overengineered the shins to show off, resulting in the hood stripe being flipped
>>10638154i have tackle boxes for my action figures' stuff, since they all tend to have extra hands and heads and shittransformers tend to very rarely have spare parts and that's mostly because I've gotten several upgrade kits that i didn't use the whole thing of, or that replaced a stock weapon and I don't need both, so I keep those in one of the neat little card-a-board boxes that one of the upgrade kits came in.
>>10638162being a meme origin is pretty swell
>>10637749>kek is that really the story they're selling youSelling nothing, the last 40 years of my life have been paying attention to this
What's this Optimus Prime? Someone identify?
>Hasbro e-mail>Nacelle pre-order cancelledThat's annoying. Anyone else getting cancellation e-mails?
>>10638006T30 and SS86 are universally considered good. Not gonna bother with whatever new one they make cause we know they will fuck it up
>>10639443>SS86it's a hack job taking the only good mold (T30/Legends) above the waist, but then ruining the propotions with newer less sexy hips and legs way too small for the frame
>>10639453I agree that it's nowhere near as good as the T30 but even then its still decent
>>10639466any good the SS86 has can be attributed to T30/Legendstypical american prudes de-sexifying superior nippon lewd appeal
>>10639471T30/Legends is better, but the SS86 one is a perfectly acceptable substitute if you can't get that one.
