Oh it doesn't have to be realistic at all. I'm quite fine with the What If style of aesthetic for a zombie line. Them being zombies not looking realistic is almost fitting. As long as there's missing bits, enough blood, and some interesting accessories then they'd fit in with whatever I'd want them to. Hell even if they did go full realistic and made the price 35 that could still be worth it if they looked the part and had the accessories to back it up. They wouldn't even need to all be accessories for the zombies either. Maybe some limbs/guts sure, but add some zombie fighting weaponry to the mix. Machete, bloodied baseball, axes, etc. Peoples problem with ML is that they're nowhere near good enough quality to cost the price they do even with licensing.
>>

I only have the cap so I wouldn't know if the others were good or not. I was just saying a really well done line of zombie civilians could do well at 35, it'd just have to be worth that price. I'm talking about from some company period, not specifically Hasbro. If it was Hasbro we'd just get slightly altered Vulcan body with minor red splotches, grab hands, and maybe some energy effect because why not.
>>
>>10634874
Like civilian no-name zombies? Doubtful they'll ever spend the money on dedicated new tooling for non-hero/villain Zombie figures. Maybe if that animated zombie show ever comes out, but all those animated D+ shows seem to be stuck in limbo and I believe I even saw rumors that some of them would be cancelled and never released.

Moon knight would work on vulcan
This whole figure is just an excuse not to add gauntlets or a cape to Vulcan. How lazy can Hasbro be?
>>
>>10635403
Making original figures like every other company is hard. Just reuse the same body 50 times instead
>>
>>10635401
Like with all molds, if another character is using the molds around the same time another one has to go into production, they'll use the older body with pins.
>>
>>10635426
Its so expensive to make new molds, which is why McFarlane only does it hundreds of times per year.

Molds are cheap. You can't afford one but multi million dollar corporations definately have the budget to make 1 extra pinless sunfire mold (especially because they don't need to hire someone to do the CAD)

I'm really done with excuses. Fuck Chris cocks.
>>
>>10635407
Vulcan mold was a mistake that's gonna push the line even further out of scale.
>>
>>10635447
Publicly traded companies exist solely to make more and more money. Their shareholders are greedy and squeeze every last penny out of consumers. That's why Hasbro is so greedy with how little they tool new molds.

McF is privately held, and he chooses to spend a lot more in tooling and take lower profit on a per-figure basis. Which he's allowed to decide since he owns the company. Try getting all the Hasbro shareholders and board to agree to lower profits. Ha!
>>
>>10635407
Vulcan mold already have those fucking wrist cuts which I despise and look like shit on figures that don't have separate colored mid-forearm gloves, or separate gloves. Moon Knight on the Vulcan mold would actually be able to make use of those split forearms by tooling new gloves.

Yeah, we get it. He's been saying it for days now and its just annoying as fuck. We'll find out how the No Way Home wave is priced at PulseCon.
>>
>>10635463
Yeah, even McF has a ton of re-use and gratuitous repaints, and making you buy the same figure again with a new head or accesssory. Just not quite as much as Hasbro. But even he has to re-use a ton of tooling to justify the costs.
>>
>>10635498
Yeah, me.
>>
>>10635509
Its how he Justifies using them. Jokerized is completely optional. I need to buy a 50th reuse of sunfire if I want to get moon Knight in white.

>>
>>10635513
Of definitely Hasbro is wayyyyy more stingy with new tooling that Todd. The DC royalties are likely a small fraction of what Disney charges Hasbro for Marvel, but that still doesn't even come close to justifying how greedy Hasbro has been with price gouging and lack of new tooling

I know its all dumb and theoretical but.... I would pay any amount of price hikes to get pinless beast level articulation on every figure. I loved lightning collection, and there was zero problems with how the figures posed (except the fact the arms can't go down, but that's a sculpting issue).

Yes I'd be willing to pay 35$ assuming every figure had perfect sculpts, articulation and pinless.

>prove it
I bought almost every LC release and the Jada street fighter figures.

>less releases per year
I could never keep up with every ML release since I started collecting. Since then releases basically doubled/tripled.

I really think ML should go fully adult collector, and embrace everything that made marvel figures so good.

Or we could reuse sunfire for the 100th time.

>>
>>10635858
Beast's articulation model isn't even close to ideal. No double ball neck, no base of neck joint, shitty inward range on the butterflies, no separated swivel hinge wrists for movement on both axes, he has that shitty reversed ab crunch that works about 25% as well as the old design and has fuck-all range, and he doesn't even have calf swivels, a crucial joint for stability in super wide poses.

This isn't even me being SUPER picky, like I could keep going with shit like soft floating crotch for more hip range, or removing the hard ratchets altogether. But my point is, Hasbro has so many fucking issues with their articulation model. They have a long way to go before I'd be satisfied paying high prices for them.

The line is far from trash. Like the other anon said if that were actually the case the line would've died years ago. Look at Mattel's various DC lines over the years. This argument is so gay.
Blame 80 years of artists being lazy and using the same proportions to 90% of male heroes and giving most of them skintight suits. My thoughts exactly. It’s funny to see all these legends fags defend this trash line, when the reality is that every release is a budget release and not a definitive version of a character.

>b-but look at the headsculpt, the FACE PRINT IS CoOL.

Sure it’s cool, but what about the buck body? What about the low, small shoulders on characters like the recent (re)release Moon knight and Hawkeye that make them look like a weak, scrawny hero?
Let’s also mention how the articulation scheme is from something from the early 2000s and they haven’t bother to update it when other brands like Jada have done so for a cheaper price.

Legends will never improve because we got hasbro brainlets that will consoom everything they will shit out.

You realize there’s other companies out there that make higher quality figures right? Or are you too poor to even consider imports? >>10637143
Picking one side or the other in this console war tier argument is stupid. Imports and ML both have their merits which are why people who actually care about toys collect both.
>>
>>10637143
For the ML's that have the ball jointed neck it's weird they can't look straight up because cutting away some material from the back of the neck can let the peg move far enough to increase range. You'd think they'd just have enough of a gap in the back for it in the mold. Hasbro really has no idea what they're doing.

>>10637234
This is true though I'd argue Hasbro is making it harder to justify some of their bullshit with the increasing costs but stagnant or worsening quality. Figures like Lizard or the 3 pack Andrew Garfield I'd say are worth 25 easy. Something like the 3 pack Tobey is unforgiveable though.
>>
>>10637250
Meh. Hasbro's shitty prices have only made me be more selective and not impulse buy as much. But then at the same time, a good portion of the figures I would have impulse purchased at $20 are now being discounted to below that so I end up getting them anyway. Supposedly though, because so many different lines are hitting clearemce (it's not just a Hasbro thing, a lot of toylones hit discounts now) companies are going to start producing less stock. I think the Mindless One Wave could be evidence of that. I still pre-order the stuff I still think is worth it, stuff like the new Widow and Hawkeye, amd I feel like they are worth it.
>>
>>10637234
It's not my intention to start a flame war. What I'm trying to get at is that Hasbro Legends isn't improving. They had the license for over a decade and they still can't give us a ball socket waist/chest combo that would VASTLY improve articulation. yes we got a "new" vulcan buck that replace the bucky cap, but the thing is, it isn't a huge improvement. It still has outdated articulation, and the shoulders are still too small/low. These figures aren't $20 anymore, each release should include all essential accessories relevant for the character, alternate hands/heads, no missing paint apps, and a body with good proportions and articulation.
>>
>>10637402
They've improved dramatically, you're simply shitposting at this point.
>>
>>10637402
People keep forgetting that
>Vulcan is the same as sunfire
>humans can't twist their waist, in the way ML can
>head double ball pegs, can get good range, Hasbro just chooses not too (might be product safety)

There's solutions to both of these problems
>>
Is this "shoulders" spamming/trolling talking point the new thing? Did they get tired of bitching about Giant Man?
>>
>>10637414
Vulcan is not an articulation improvement over sunfire. The entire line was founded on articulation.

We don't even have a spiderman with articulated hands. If we did you wouldn't need additional hands.

>>
>>10637402
>they still can't give us a ball socket waist/chest combo that would VASTLY improve articulation
>vulcan buck still has outdated articulation, and the shoulders are still too small/low

If they make drastic articulation style changes like that, they lose the ability to part swap and re-use as much as they are currently. That means they have to spend more on unique tooling. Because of this, I doubt we ever see the ball socket waist joint ever be mainstream in Legends. It was easier for Fortnite and GI Joe to do it because they were brand new lines where that could be the standard from the beginning, or because Joes were so early into the line that the library of tooled bucks and parts wasn't nearly as immense as the Legends pool is.

what hasbro needs to do is invest in 3 different modular body types (male and female) and go ALL IN on those. That way when they are reused, no one will complain because the team will pick the appropriate parts to fit the aesthetic of the figure. I remember DCUC had something like this, where they had 3 or 4 different male bucks and they kept reusing them. Too bad the articulation sucked though.

>>
>>10637511
How's that different than what they do currently, aside from many of the current bodies feeling outdated? Each 'buck' they use commonly has a pool of parts made specifically for it that all other figures on that buck can use. Bucky Cap, Sunfire, Spider UK, Vulcan, Grim Reaper, Pizza Spidey, Hercules, Colossus, Teen body etc for males. Shriek, Kate Bishop, Moonstone, Spider Girl teen body, etc for females.

>>
>>10637695
>Jada makes better figures than Hasbro. How absurd
Not odd at all. They are a SUPER small company. Less overhead, less employees, no shareholders, etc. They can spend more money and time on the production side since the aren't beaten down by penny pinchers at the top constantly, and also aren't stuck to a strict time table for releases.

Interesting that Hot Toys specifically used Andrew’s artwork from No Way Home for the boxart, yet opted to brand it as ASM2 just to circumvent the likeness rights issue.
>>
>>10637714
Would the articulation changes they'd need to make be that much more? Like Vulcan is a new buck that had to have money spent on it. If you made it properly to have better articulation I can't see it costing that much more. It's different ways of doing the same plastic.

If they make drastic changes to the articulation schemes they've been using forever, that means less parts are compatible with each other and they'll need to do more new tooling. We all know they're cheap as hell and will avoid needing to pay for new tooling wherever its possible

What if they did it over a period of time? They've started using ball joints on upper torsos.
>>
>>10637772
With such a large pool of parts they have, no matter when they start doing the torso ball style joint, the same issue will arise. Less compatibility and less options for them to re-use parts which they love to do. I'm not sure that'll ever be the standard in Legends.

I think what will be revealed at has on is:
>bonus for giant man (since it hasn't funded)

Basically Hasbro will cover the three pillars of x men, spiderman, and avengers to the bare minimum. The MCU reveal is likely the infinity saga stuff.

>>
>>10638218
Why do we need a new Hulk? The 80th Anniversary one is fine.
>>
>>10638219
Because we need one to go along with extremis iron man and ultimate captain america
>>
>>10638230
no we don't
>>
>>10638236
OK you want to discuss this?

The hulk that Hasbro made was defeated completely by diamond select. The diamond selects sculpt is so far ahead of Hasbro.

Its clear that hulk mold is outdated. Hasbro could add so much to a new hulk that it makes a lot of sense to just make a new one. If they did and sold it for 40$ at retail it would sell out quickly.
>>
>>10638237
>The diamond selects sculpt is so far ahead of Hasbro.
great, and because it's the hulk his size is already variable enough that the scale difference doesn't matter and you can just use that one and shut the fuck up already
>>
>>10638219
i don't care for any of the recently released hulks
>>
>>10638238
Neither of those hulks are modern. They don't fit with extremis iron man or captain america.

>>
>>10638241
your wants are gay and you'd be dissatisfied with a new hulk and that would already be like the 4th or 5th green hulk released in the past 5 years and you'd still want another
>>
>>10638243

Yeah. Hulk is good. Give us new hulk.

20ish years ago ToyBiz did a multiple wave hulk sub-series that was much better, yes
none of the figures were locked into being BAF-only, they didn't cost more than smaller figures in the same line like the spider-man ones or fantastic four ones
and yes I wish that's still how it worked
the mecha hulk and gremlin is one of the best figures ever made and outclasses everything hasbro has ever done

Do you have to ask? These are superheroes from decades ago of course they need big shoulders, they’re all drawn like that. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, it signifies their strength as your average joe wouldn’t have big boulder shoulders. It shows that superheroes are on another tier, peak humans.
>>

So I picked up Agatha and Talon at Gamestop and some thoughts:

1. I bought Talon for custom parts but a bit of bad news is that his heads and necks are one piece so you can't put another head on his body. I really don't give a shit about Talon as a character but his human form looks a little like Ned Leeds, so I'll probably just repurpose him as Ned for my Spider-Man civilian display.

2. Agatha's a bit better but I really wish we could have gotten a more fan service version of her like her 80s aerobics outfit. Or give her some blast effects.

Agatha also came with the unmasked Hydra Stomper Steve Rogers head and a masked Hydra Stomper head. Hydra Stomper kind of reminds me of the villain from Original Sin (Midas) so I think I might complete the BAF and use him as a Midas for my villain display and maybe put Steve's bearded unmasked head on a spare Cobra Trooper body from Classified.

Attuma has to be a BAF since he's a brick shithouse like Executioner.

Only three figures would work for this wave (Blacklash, Titania, and Wizard). Beyonder woulld probably be saved for a Secret Wars box set and Mandarin seems to be a no-go.

Ideally we should get:

Titania
Wizard
Blacklash
Reaper (for an X-Man villain)
Nightmare (for a Doctor Strange villain)
Spot (comic book version for a Spider-Man villian)
