Aizawa preorder starts on 9/20
>>10630136He looks so blocky. His torso, the legs. The knees end up uglier than usual. I remember that deep crouch they had him in looked bad. I guess there's a price to pay for such a clean design.
I missed out on Flash and Reverse Flash and with pre-order bonus for >>10630136 I'm thinking about droping the line, such a fucking bullshit.>>10631050the worst thing about his design is his butt, I can already see making front splits will be impossible, shame
>>10630131Perhaps the official means of contacting Kaiyodo should be added to the OP.
>>10631051>making front splits will be impossibleYou do realize most if not all AY can't move the legs backwards because of butt sculpts, yes?And you really dropping Aizawa for one face plate?
>>10631149I don't want idiots who don't buy their stuff or can't figure that out to bother Kaiyodo, so no. It's on the box now.
>>10631208Fair enough, I suppose I could just post it myself each thread.
>>10630131I forgot about this since it was text only announcement. AY Shigaraki was confirmed. Awakened version, so one of the looks he has after coming out of the tank?>https://heroaca.com/goods/figure/19511/
Thoughts on the muv luv revos? I want this guy so badly.
>>10631208So nice of you to look out for a company that doesn't know you exist or cares about you. You're such a nice person anon. We should all strive to be as retarded as you.
>>10632652Definetly shows their age but the muvluv revols are alright. My only real negative is no toe articulation.
>>10632652They're pretty good especially if you get them at discount. Of course getting them today you can't help but feel that they are too small. But Revoltechs and mecha toys in general were smaller then.
>>10630131I know I'm getting ripped off but fuck it. Yamaguchi just keeps upping his game, and I want to support that even if his corporate overlords are greedy. I mean, virtually every other Japanese toy company is already way overcharging for toys that rarely evolve substantially. If I'm forking over $100+ per figure, at least let it be something fucking awesome, you know? I definitely don't feel good dropping that kind of money on a Figma.
Is there actually a known way to fix Hawks' visor?I recall someone saying they did it.
>>10632890It is PVC, just use some heat.
>>10633135Won't it return to its previous shape in due time?
>>10633169Maybe, maybe not. Since it was packaged separately and it tend to be deformed (different from mold shape) I guess leaving it off it will eventually bend back deformed. But keeping it on it might stay the way the mold intended it to be. But once the plastic is cooled they usually stay that way unless it's really soft. Like gravity is enough to bend soft. But the PVC on Hawks is pretty hard. The visor part might've bend because I assume there is some heat involved in packaging? That's why pieces with no joints inserted are hard to put in out of the box. Figma have pegs in those joint holes of option parts to prevent the expanding.
>>10633368I appreciate it.The material (I still have Hawks in the box right now, whew) is still fairly rough in terms of texture, right? Not smooth, so it will warp and deform the eyes behind them?
>>10633406You mean the opacity of the visor? Yeah it bends light a little, but not so bad. From side angles though it looks very cloudy in spots. It looks clear only from dead front.
>>10633420I wonder if there's anything that can be done about that. I do recall seeing some pics where it looked pretty good, but that was when he first released.I assume that entire issue is to do with the material picked and the imperfections in the sculpt.
>>10633423Yeah I think if you want perfectly clear plastic you need to go with something harder, and even then you can still get imperfections. Clear plastic on gundam models still have lines in them you can see.
>>10630958>Kaiyodo won't give head
Bro what the fuck happened to revo trigun prices? I bought vash for 7500 yen only 2 years ago and now he’s at 13k. And i thought 10k was expensive when i bought black vash 1 1/2 year ago, now he’s sitting around 30k
>>10634340The better question is why do mentally ill wannabe weeaboo virgin fatties use "yen" when talking about money instead of their actual local currency
>>10634390my bad broi wish these figs cost 1 chicken nuggy
>>10634390Gee i don't know, maybe because they are japanese figures. Fucking dumb ass.
>>10634407I know youre a mentally retarded weeaboo but you also dont use yuan to describe the value of all the products from chinkland, you only do it to your wapanese toys as some type of mentally ill larp
>>10634390because the guy above clearly using mandarake as reference, they show their price in yenyou're outing yourself here by not knowing one of the biggest sites in toy scene, kys you poser lmao
>>10634425>they show their price in yenAnd? is yen the currency thats currently in your bank account fucking retarded autist? No, you are literally the definition of a poser
>>10634390because this is an international board and we're talking about toys from japan you fucking retard
nvm the lingo is clearly too forced and aggressiveone of the schizos baiting againmy b for taking a bite
>>10634432>because this is an international boardyes, thats why most payment services automatically exhange/ convert currencies from one to another, because everything is fucking international, and its specifically why youre an uguu nihongo faggot poser for specifically referring to wapanese sites and products with "yen" while literally never ever doing it to any product from taiwan, china or basically any country that has their own currency too
>>10634390>>10634413>>10634426>>10634437nvm, the the figure's price has actually increased to 19000 YEN
>>10634437Thankfully we got wholesome BBTS to run the numbers for us
>>10634426>>10634437Yen is how it shows up in my paypal account from the sites I buy from. Now stop being such a jealous chink over people not buying from you Ping.
What are the chances that Kaiyodo would stop the bullshit exclusivity if enough people complained? I really want these newly announced figures, but I don’t want to support a company that removes an accessory just so they can sell it at their own storefront.
>>10634390>>10634413>>10634437oh, i'm sorry for offending your delicate sensibilities. i'll switch to american so your triggered ass can find some comfortburger burger nike marvel mcdonalds football rap school shootings
>>10634516Never. Because this doesn't affect sales in Japan that much, and that is where most of their profits come from.
>>106345160
>>10634390
>samefaggingSAD!
WHEN
>>10634446lol i was checkin this earlier and I remember buying these figs for around 5000-6000 yen 3 years ago. Yamaguchi san needs to make some more trigun!
>>10634821Crybaby Devilman looks kind of like the manga version if you squint. That means that it will never happen. 70's anime Devilman and ugly redesigns forever. Sorry but those are the rules.
>>10634821Nobody cares about Devilman. They give the occasional try but they perform poorly. The properties that are inspired by Devilman (Berserk, Parasyte, Evangelion to name a few) have done much much better, because newer is usually better in Japan. Nostalgia for something that old isn't strong in Japan unless it's Mecha.
>>10635698Devilman is actually one of the only nostalgia properties that Japan keeps digging up. We get a new adaptation every few years in some form or another and we have so many toys of the title character from so many different lines. They just refuse to make toys of specific looks outside of the 70's show for some godforsaken reason.
>>10635840That's because Nagai Go is realistically only known for two things, Mazinger Z and Devilman. And he only cares about Devilman, so he keeps rehashing it, make other things connect to it, because none of his other works have really taken off. Getter was more Ishikawa's baby. And these adaptations and spinoffs you are talking about haven't done so well, as I mentioned. Interestingly it is much like all these Western properties that have nothing but nostalgia. They can't come up with new ideas and make them work. Nagai behaves similarly, but it's nowhere near as big or profitable. And these action figures we get aren't best sellers either. If they were we see more. Recent movie, mangas and anime series gave us nothing in terms of action figures, just some statues. Anything can get statues.
>>10635840>They just refuse to make toys of specific looks outside of the 70's showAnd that by the way shows nostalgia is weak from consumer demands point of view. TV show got something made because naturally more people saw and remember that, so it barely made the cut. Also was more like part of the Nagai super robots because of the crossover movie.
>Nobody cares about Devilman.
>>10636201Not watched it, any good?
>>10636216The manga is phenomenal, none of the animations are good. Make sure you read the DPS scanlation and not the Seven Seas release, SS used an edition that splices in chapters from Shin Devilman.
>>10636224>none of the animations are goodSlight correction; the 70's anime is a lot of fun, but should be considered to be its own thing as it's not an adaptation.
>>10636224The 80s ovas are god-tier but they're unfinished sadly.
>>10636201Literally no one gives a shit about Devilman in current JP other than "Wakaruman" meme videos with the 70s ver of him Casshan and Tiger Mask on NND otherwise they would've made figures of the design you fags been whining about on this board for years instead, but they still haven't because no one caresIt's time to stop coping and enjoy your constant Bandai reissues of the 70s version
>>10636216Watch devil man crybaby. It's the best version
>>10636813That's just untrue. Half of it is some shitty track and field drama that the creators seem to rather do but couldn't so they shoved it into a known property. It is sort of based on the swimmers setting from Devilman Lady but who cares about that. They also totally butchered the Satan reveal. It's so bad. It had fancy animation, that's about it. Original manga run still remains the best. Lady is an interesting continuation. Grimoire is a fun take with more anime settings involved. Amon is a good sidestory.
>>10636859All manga by the way, nothing good for moving pictures. Old OVA is fine only because it's parts of the manga retold. But nothing too special for the OVAs of the time.
>>10636859Shut up nerd
>>10636224>Make sure you read the DPS scanlationCould you point me in the right direction? I've been looking for it but can't seem to.
>>10636979https://www.mediafire.com/?c5677ep2stgch
Can Agent Venom exclusive be ordered OUTSIDE of Japan or is the venom head only going to Japanese custs?
>>10636990Wonderful, thank you!
I thought Yamaguchi would really nail Aizawa and make him shine. Looks decent... Accurate I guess. But fucking boring. Why doesn't have a crazy long scarf and a thousand pieces? It's so barebones and "safe". Really disappointed.
>>10637099He has a boring design though, that's his thing. Not sure what more he could do. Scarf has only two ends I guess. Maybe pieces that could wrap around other figures but that's hard to do right. Also all those anons that freaked out about the hair...what did I tell ya.
>>10634821I hope. I have the megahouse devilman and he's not really fun to play with, his tail falls off all the fucking time.
>>10637144He also come with some paper accessories, like a folder to hold. Like a teacher.
Still waiting on my Harley. Get the fuck in here, Harley! Vroom Vroom!
>>10635877>And he only cares about DevilmanMy sides!
>>10636216Don't watch Devilman Crybaby, it's the worst version
>>10636216The 70's anime is kind of shit and is barely an adaptation. The two 80's OVAs are okay. The Amon OVA is kind of weird and just adapts part of the end of the manga for some reason. The live action movie is awful. The Cyborg 009 crossover OVA is fine for what it is. Crybaby is an absolute dogshit adaptation but your enjoyment may vary depending on how tolerant you are of Yuasa's direction style. The manga is great.>>10635877There is so much wrong here that it is almost kind of funny.
>>10637536>time for some web-swingin’ ass-kickin’
>>10637099How exactly does Aizawa shine? You fucking retard. He's a boring cunt with a boring outfit and lame powers. The coolest thing about him is the scarf and that's a shitty thing to have being the coolest part of your power set up. The only thing I would add is a scarf piece that looks like it's circling his head when he has his eyes red. This figure is perfectly mid just like Aizawa is.
>>10637342>>10636859If crybaby is so shit according to you, why is it one of, if not the most liked adaptation? Everyone except you must have shit taste, right?
>>10637548It's the only one that covers the whole storyline, if you ignore the offensively bad live action movie. So think about that. It is the best one out of the one option. Congratulations.
>>10637548you facebook fan group doesn't represent the whole fanbase, you know it.
>>10637655it's reddit actually
https://www.amiami.com/eng/detail/?gcode=FIGURE-159888>This product can only be shipped to the following areas. Japan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, TaiwanWhat's up with these restrictions? Shipping cost thing? Nearby countries are the top buyers for MHA so just sell to them. Same for Flash, concentrate on US?
>>10637548It is kind of like the new Trigun where it is mostly liked by a new fanbase as opposed to fans of the original.Anyway I said it is a dogshit ADAPTATION not that it is a shit series. That is a personal mileage thing. Yuasa gutted the main cast, removed massive story beats and added a ton of awkward as all hell comedy stuff like the boner episode and the rappers. I'll give it points for actually getting to the ending even if it butchered the middle to get there. None of the other adaptations managed that outside of the movie.
>>10637681Licensing
>>10637144Wait, so he does come with the normal hair? Why the fuck isn't it pictured in the accessory shot? Is it possible they backed off after seeing the reception to this and Venom, or is it just a mistake that it was omitted?
>>10637547Aizawa is not flashy, but he's the classic "slacker hot guy who is actually a badass." People go nuts for that trope.
>>10637859Huuuuhhhh....He has his normal hair ON THE MAIN FIGURE. Accessories are everything ELSE. It has always been like that. No they didn't change their mind or anything. They from the start clearly said FACE PART was the exclusive. No mistakes, anons here are just stupid sometimes.
>>10637859See how there is no helmet in this picture for Thor? It's the same thing.
>>10637875>>10637882Fair enough. I got caught up in the fear-mongering.
>>10637886There were severe lack of photos of the regular hair shots. Also this would've been clearer lol.
>>10637681>non-rice eating foreigner back the fuck off t. kaiyodo
>>10637846Anons throw that word around and most don't seem to know what it even means. That makes absolutely no sense, especially for Kaiyodo. This happens randomly, and not even commonly among different stores. It should affect all MHA or all DC then. And these AY don't have distribution rights outside of Japan anyways like most collectibles unless they have official distributors AFAIK.
I don't know if this has been answered before, but do you know why amiami doesn't have Agent Venom on preorder yet?
>>10638386>That makes absolutely no senset. NEETLicensing costs money and license holders can be greedy as fuck. What's happening here is that the licensor has broken up the license by region, so that Kaiyodo can only afford the east Asia region. In order to protect other license holders who may or may not hold the license for Europe, Africa, South America, and North America, they'll stipulate that the east Asia license holder can only be sold in east Asia only. This also means that retailers can't take orders from other regions. If a retailer breaks that contract with Kaiyodo, who has to enforce their license, that retailer can be fined or may no longer be able to carry Kaiyodo products.tl;dr: SSDD
>>10638650some issues with >>10637846last time they were late with Flash and Reverse Flash and allow them only for Japan and USAI presume it's the same case with Agent Venomlooks like it's the end of AY line for pesky gaijins, racewar now
Oh shit, she's going to be shipping soon.
>>10640026We need Misato, yesterday.
>>10639988>>10638723>>10637846You see, I'm not buying this licensing explanation because it doesn't fit the pattern. Especially with which stores carry what. You see this more when you compare the Japanese sites with their international sites. What, is licensing so micromanaged character by character, and retailers are following and not following at whim? And not even selling it in Japan sometimes?? And this all started to happen more after the distributor aka Kaiyodo got shitty. Was the old distributor controlling licensing too? It makes more sense it's the shit distribution making certain items not worth carrying, or shipping out of the country. That's why it looks random who gets what. If you consider popularity of each character and where that might be, it looks less random. And if following this guideline is so important, why do we keep seeing major stores breaking it without consequences too? And I'm not sure how licensing are charged or scaled, but are they distance based? Because when this happens, and it seem to only happen with Kaiyodo this way, they are strangely distance based. That plus America which Japan has special agreements of trades with. So this speaks to me more of a shipping costs issue. Drawing a line to not waste money perhaps. Shipping 1000 to one country might be cheaper than 50 to 20 countries. Something that is more so for the retailers to decide. Why two or more stores decide to do the same countries at times is a tough one to explain. I can only assume same businesses think alike, and yeah that's not a great answer.
>>10640166retail is a bitch and a half to control, since there's so many distributors, resellers, outlet, and fell-out-of-a-truck sources to make orders from, so there's many avenues to get "region locked" products from.Still, licensors are extremely controlling and licensees have to make every effort to comply with their contracts. But sometimes they're lax about it or maybe there's no explicit writing for a listing when making an order or on the box, which a lot of retailers/distributors take as "that restriction must have been lifted" despite previous language that more than implies the entire line is restricted forever.Just think of it as watching a copyrighted material on XBOXB00BS Youtube channel. Just because the algorithm didn't block it from being uploaded doesn't mean that movie/song is suddenly public domain. Someone just needs to physically report it and it'll get removed.I'm almost positive Kaiyodo's Marvel stuff was cockblocked in the US at first, but people on /toy/ found a way around that and now it's not hard to get at all. Other stuff that was cockblocked: Bandai's Star Wars models, JoyToy's Warhammer 40k figures, Hiya's GI Joe line.In the first two examples, they eventually worked out a deal to get US distribution. The latter is still cockblocked, hence people ordering from some previously unknown websites.
Yeah I won't believe "licensing" as an excuse atm. Maybe if they also blocked the Kirishima AY too, but they didn't so we'll have to wait and see what happens with Shigaraki
>>10640591whatever floats your boat nigga

Kaiyodo capsule Q museum 35 action soldiers made by Yamaguchi
The blue team got ambushed, such interesting desk toy~ so much fun!! Really regret I didn't get it with three or four sets when it just on sales in 2018, now is not that cheap anymore.
>>10644990>>10644999>>10645004I wish they did more fun capsule stuff like these. I guess those efforts are now going into Artpla.
>>10646790I think so, seems they put a lot effort on it.Amazing Yamaguchi is good for sure although it's getting more and more expensive and always have QC issues, I wish Mr' Yamaguchi can go back to this kind of small funny stuffs time to time
https://youtube.com/shorts/5wuFuXG3Ly8?si=O-5_FOdf1v04ATFhDamn, this guy is good. What a terrific painting work he made on this 35 action soldiers.
Preorder starts on 27. Kunai and wire are the exclusive this time. Posing in this photo is unusually bad kek.
I got Revo Harley and she exceeded my expectations. 10/10 figure but I'm experiencing some of the paint transfer that others have been complaining about. Is there a way to clean that off safely?
>>10644999Steiner, eh? No wonder he didn't launch the attack.>>10644999
>>10648475nvm I've found a method
>>10648495Seems here has some punch line I didn't get about this Steiner, can you enlightened me anon?
>>10648475Hmm, not paint transfer, the paint on her diaper piece would develop hairline cracks when it flexed.Has anything like this happened to yours?
>>10648629Steiner was an SS commander who was supposed to launch an offensive during the battle of Berlin. There's a scene from the movie Downfall where Hitler rants, in part, about Steiner's failure to act. The scene became a huge meme, with people altering the subtitles to be about all manner of topics.
>>10649042oh no absolutely not, mine's perfect so far and I've used those joints a lotfor the smears I'm using a pencil eraser. it works
>>10649120Ah I see, first release adopters beta-tested again.
>>10649149Does it happen right away? I'll tell you if it happens (I hope not).Couldn't be happier right now. I had only one thing that bugged me about her which is that only the first release in black/red had the shocked faceplate while the other two had the bubblegum, but on hobby-genki they gave the original face as a bonus. Absolute win
>>10649165Happened right away for me and and other people here.
You guys getting head? Also are Revoltech heads swappable between figures?
>>10649393I will get head. I can't speak for all of them but some very much can't be swapped, unmasked Captain America can't be put on Black Panther for example.
>>10636216Devilman crybaby is a neat version but the 90s one is nostalgic if you grew up watching that, the original is unwatchable. Either way if you haven't seen it you're doing yourself a disservice, it's the equivalent of saying you haven't seen ninja scroll, akira, or like the og ghost in the shell.. you're uncultured and devil was where alot of animes copied their concepts from. It is the original.
>>10649495>seen ninja scroll, akira, or like the og ghost in the shell..Those are the Western ideas for "good anime" as in it wasn't as shitty as whatever crap they could grab hold of. A lot of them don't hold much regards in Japan, they were one among many, not cherry picked samples for the US. Besides AKIRA I don't think they are considered that special in Japan. Personally SAC continuity are way more interesting overall for example. I think the so called cultured folks go for things like The Wings of Honnêamise, Castle of Cagliostro for that era.
>>10649393This head is cool but I realized I would only use it for novelty photos now and then, and actually prefer the normal Agent Venom head. Therefore it would be dumb for me to pay an extra $40 for the head.
>>10649543>don't hold much regards in Japanwat? The fact they all got sequels and even knockoffs shows that they were very popular. One thing that most people in the know have commented on is just the fact there isn't much nostalgia in Japan. They don't have shit like Star Trek and Star Wars conventions like in the US. They want to enjoy new thing instead, albeit sometimes based on previous series like Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Inujyasha, Naruto, or Gundam. And this isn't to say that old series are forgotten about or not cherished, but there's not a giant active fanbase like in the US, where fans clamor for a re-re-remake of Firefly or Battlestar Galactica, or new toys from them, despite 3-50 years having passed since their cancellation/ending. It's rare for a one and done series or movie to get more shit after it ended in Japan and, like in the US, this doesn't mean it's actually great.
>>10649393I will if I can find a good price for it.
guys the stand that came with Harley is super tight on the peg. How do you deal with this? Do you sand the peg so it fits? I don't wanna force it in.
>>10649600This is honestly why manga/anime are more successful than ever while Western comics and animation are dead. You just can't keep milking Batman and other characters that are like 70 years old with endless reboots forever. Making new things from the ground up is healthier in the end.
>>10649692Probably only going to go up my guy.
>>10649495>it's the equivalent of saying you haven't seen ninja scroll, akira, or like the og ghost in the shell..Well Anon I don't want to alarm you, but..
>>10649495if you dont read the bible youre uncultured and bible was where alot of animes/movies/books copied their concepts from. It is the original.
>>10649803uh, did you ignore the part where stuff like Gundam, Dragon Ball, Naruto, etc etc are also milked? Japan is no better than the US.And McFarlane's DC line outsold Hasbro's Marvel line the other year, according to the largest sales tracking company in the world. So western shit is still super popular... hence Kaiyodo needing the DC and Marvel licenses to fill up their coffers. which allows them to make cool shit like >>10644990
>>10649495>Either way if you haven't seen it you're doing yourself a disservicei've seen clips of crybaby and i feel like i'm doing myself a disservice if i watch it
Now I have batman and the 2.0 spiderman. I should probably secure the catwoman preorder too because shes probably the third revoltech im pretty interested in. Im a difficult customer for this hobby because I dont give a shit about 99% of gay capeshit or animeshit. Only shit shit that ive liked since I was a kid like the aforementioned two that I already have, or videogame characters that dont seem to be a big thing for amazing yamaguchi at all. I guess there have been big boss and raiden but those are ancient by now
Do you guys think there's a chance for AY Fantastic Four? I wonder how Yamaguchi would handle Mister Fantastic.
>>10650467Hopefully not, leave the lame shit to MLs
>>10649495Nobody gives a shit about Ninja Scroll and that shitty Fwoosh campaign right now is evident of thatAkira the movie is overrated and cuts a million things from the manga that are more interesting so experience the manga instead
>>10650264shouldve started collecting at least 3 years ago. Revoltech Raiden was just 7000 YEN and was considered pretty good for a rare figure. compared to the 16000 YEN he is now.
>>10650518>compared to the 16000 YEN he is now. What the hell?I thought he was expensive at 10k used 2 years ago.
>>10650518I dont even really want him, I never particularly liked how the character looks in revengeance nor do I even like the game itself. Id pay out the ass for an amazing yamaguchi gordon freeman, isaac clarke or ryu hayabusa
>>10650264I have zero interest in most media (I've got stuff on preorder that I didn't even know what franchise was from) and I got AY Harley just because she looked so damn good. I didn't even think much of the jugallette design before I saw the figure. Grew up with TAS so Harley was always jester Harley to me. Completely sold me onto the new design. I'm probably the worst possible customer because I don't have a nostalgia/hype attachment to what I buy, I just look at quality and what personally appeals me.

>>10651390>16000 yenFor that price I'd expect more than two weapons.
Is there a reason that the reverse flash didn't go up on hlj? Is it a store exclusive?
>>10650600Oh yeah, Harley and maybe Joker are others that I actually might be interested in, especially Harley because she just looks damn good. I just intentionally try to avoid buying a lot of things even if I can so I don't fill the space with things that I don't even have a big connection to
>>10650467>>10650911An AY Mr Fantastic with crazy stretching add-ons like that is unironically my most wanted figure out of this line. That thing would never leave my desk
>>10651639Best guess because this crap happened after AY lost the distributor company, is that certain AY are no longer profitable for stores to carry or sell overseas. HLJ don't have them at all, even on their Japanese side because nobody use them in Japan. No DC there for a while now and looking at movie performances you can see why. Most interesting example is AmiAmi Japan. DC AY and MH AY are not getting discounts. This to me say that the stores are not getting enough of a discount from Kaiyodo to pass onto the customers. Marvel and MHA still get discounted. DC used to too prior to dropping the distributor. If one of the biggest site can't get by without charging full price, smaller places are likely not to even take the risk.
>>10650911if mr fantastic gets an AY treatment, it'll probably the closest yamaguchi can get to making a luffy figure.and it'll be hundred times better than shf luffy.
>>10651639They're not exclusive but it seems Kaiyodo badly wants a piece of the P-Bandai market and this is their attempt to see how much they can gouge customers wallets by cutting out the distributors.I can't wait for this to blow up in their faces when they realize they've effectively cannibalized their own profits by making it impossible for people who want to buy their products to do so.

>>10649588That was my attitude too. I’ll never display Agent Venom with a Venom head, so I passed. Still not thrilled that this is just how AY works now. Wasn’t a big deal for stuff like extra webs for Spidey, but alternate heads is a pretty lame thing to lock behind an extra $40.
>>10650467Low, if only because I assume they’d test sales of someone like Thing by doing a Hulk first.
>>10651929AY Hulk sounds pretty fucking great.
>>10651737I don't think it will because it doesn't affect the local customers that much. In the meanwhile they are releasing more characters for AY than ever before. What will do them in is the general inflation of prices. I'm curious to see what desperate plan they will come up with for that. Last time this happened they thought Revol-Mini was a good idea.

Sadly a random cool looking Marvel character has better potential than most supposedly A-list DC characters.

>>10653513My guy, I don't think normies put down a hundred dollars for Revoltechs. If you know what a Revoltech is, you most definitely know what a Green Lantern is.
>>10653523they bigger issue is their choice of characters and/or character designs
NOW, MR. YAMAGUCHI!
>>10653545correction: more Japanese needs to like GL first
>>10653537Kaiyodo gives the most accessories out of anybody else. Prove that wrong at least. They have that over everyone. And they give you a stand with each release.
>>10653556Learn to read. The mongoloid I replied to said theyre "better than other japanese companies". I told him to tell me how is kaiyodo better than "other japanies companies" in a way that doesnt also put them above literally everyone else in general, and got no reply that doesnt just list the strengths of kaiyodo/ AY in general which leads me to believe the faggot doesnt even own anything outside of revoltechs
>>10653523Just got my first AY with Moon Knight after YEARS of being tempted, gotta say a lot of these seem true. I think the biggest problem with AY is that a lot of their figures are not the "definitive" look for most characters. Unlike MAFEX or SHF who just recreate one look, AYs like to mash a bunch of traits together with their in-house style which I really like but I know it isn't for everyone. I mean that's why it took me so long to buy one of their figures because I don't like my American capeshit characters to look like they popped out of a manga and MK doesn't have that problem since you don't really see his face.
>>10653561I own a lot of figures from different companies. Why are you so triggered?
>>10653545So the mostly movie influenced selection so far is just a coincidence? Not that many are actually into American Comics you know. Leaning on that side of fandom have not worked well with AY when you look at who shelfwarmed. And DC currently is at a weaker position on top of that. . MAFEX, which is clearly more catered to what you think AY is doing, haven't even done a GL. That's evidence enough.
>>10653561Sounds like you are playing stupid semantic wordgames to win a stupid argument.Find better ways to use your time.
>>10653565>I think the biggest problem with AY is that a lot of their figures are not the "definitive" look for most charactersfunny because id say thats literally the best part (outside of the obvious), makes it feel less like I need to get 800 specific versions of batman when amazing yamaguchi gives me *a* batman that sort of represents the entire character in a generic sense>>10653568>I own a lot of figures from different companiesApparently not, or otherwise youd be able to easily see that figma and figuarts both for example mog AY in terms of sculpts and paintjobs. The strength of AY (and it has been getting stronger and stronger) is the articulation and particularly the engineering of the figure/ articulation itself, they keep moving away from simply depending on the clunky revoltech joint and theyre now just becoming the A game of the action figure industry with the latest releases. Spiderman 2.0 for example is probably the best spiderman figure ever made so far>>10653577Learn to read
>>10653565>I don't like my American capeshit characters to look like they popped out of a mangaI've seen complaints about this with Harley but I think she's perfectly in line with Bruce Timm's art style. I don't get the whole "looks like manga" thing 'cause cartoons and comics were most of the time similarly stylized. Do people really want uncanny movie star faces?
>>10653565>AYs like to mash a bunch of traits togetherTechnically they all have certain comic designs he's following. Some changes are made for the sake of articulation or comic references are so inconsistent Yamaguchi just makes up some details. His signature stylization is a different matter of course.

>>10653545cope Green Lantern fagNobody cares about him anymoreEspecially not after Ryan Reynolds shit into his mouth and no one is going to care about whatever James Gunn reboot that'll flop
>>10653862Not him and I dont give a shit about green faggot just like I dont give a shit about 99.99% of amerishit capeshit characters, but every fucking normie knows who green lantern is let alone anyone who buys toys as an adult. Everyone is aware of him because of Ryan Reynolds and he was a prominent character in both Injustice games. You might have an argument that nobody gives a shit or necessarily knows about there being multiple green lanterns or that Hal isnt the only main character, but thats an entirely different "issue"
>>10653050When's the pre order bros???
>>10653946NTA but while most normies do know, in fact, who Green Lantern is, he's just... sort of a lame superhero that nobody cares about? Nobody says "Oh WAOW Green Lantern! He's my favorite!" It's always Batman or Spider-man or someone who's actually cool. Green Lantern is about as cool as Captain Planet, except that Captain Planet has a mullet. If you wanna publish a character like that you gotta piggyback on a movie that is doing well at the box office and there's a lot of hype because he says something catchy.I'm sorry anon...
>>10654036hope next month, cannot pay the customs for catwoman and super girl back to back
>>10654062Like I said I dont give a shit about green lantern, I was replying to the false belief that nobody knows who the fuck he is, because normies do in fact know almost every single comic character out there now through osmosis and whenever they dont they immediately absorb the information anyway because the barrier of entry has been brokenthe real issue is that nobody with a brain gives a shit about some boring faggot like gween wantern, even by the standards of DC capeshit garbage hes just laughably lame. There are plenty of superheroes that amazing yamaguchi should actually spend his time on rather than wasting it on trash like gween wantern (like spawn)
>>10653517They focus on articulation over all, and constantly push the boundaries forward in that realm. Bandai and Max Factory, the other two big players, are positively stagnating when it comes to this. I have been disappointed in the majority of SHFs and Figmas in the last three years, they seem content to maintain the status quo of "acceptable" articulation. They never want to go the extra mile.
>>10654267Once again, theyre literally better at articulation than every single company out there. The mongoloid singled "japanese" companies out
>>10654267>I have been disappointed in the majority of SHFs and Figmas in the last three yearsThat's a bummer, I've got two Figmas on preorder and I think I'm spoiled when it comes to articulation
>>10653050Midfart btfo
>>10654327Only buy Figmas if you like the sculpt enough to justify the price. They definitely aren't gonna blow any minds pose-wise. Max Factory only puts in real effort to their articulation once every blue moon. The last one I remember being really pleased with was Prime 3 Samus, that was capable of some pretty good posing for a Figma.
>>10654377My first figma will be, in fact, Dread Samus. Then a few months later, the second Hito Kaiki figure. I genuinely love the way Figmas look, they seem to be incredibly clean and well-polished. But I do care a lot about articulation, e.g. if Samus won't be able to pull that pose you posted, I'll be bummed. In the figure's description they say some babble about articulation and posability that seems to be copy-pasted in every figure's description, so I dunno. The preview pictures show some nice articulation but nothing spectacular and the poses are sort of milquetoast. If I'll be disappointed I'll just stick to Revoltech and other companies with a similar philosophy (lots of articulation and expression)
>>10654377I regret not picking up mp3 samus twice.
>>10654377>>10654411Especially since she's got like, no accessories. If the figure itself isn't spectacularly well made I'm probably giving the whole line a hard pass. I took the gamble specifically because the Prime 3 figure was so damn good, and I wanna believe that they'll try to beat that standard.
>>10654469You atleast know the articulation is good because it wouldnt be able to do this pose otherwise.
>>10654481Yeah that pic makes me pretty confident that she's nicely engineered as least when it comes to the legs. What makes me uneasy is that it's a figure from a popular Nintendo franchise and I always have this prejudice that you're paying for the collector's value and the big name IP. I feel much safer buying figures from say Snail Shell 'cause they don't get automatic sales from the IP's name alone. After getting Harley I think I'll give extra attention to Revoltech 'cause they seem to make figures exactly the way I want them.
>>10654492Dont forget the slide to show the leg articulation.>After getting Harley I think I'll give extra attention to Revoltech 'cause they seem to make figures exactly the way I want them.Get carnage. It is my favorite revol.
>>10654469>>10654481The hip seems to have good range, but holy shit, the replacement hand and foot attached to the wall because she cannot actually do the pose is kind of shitty.
>>10654503As much as I don't like pose-specific swappies, I think it's less because she can't do the pose and more to secure the figure to the vertical surface.
>>10654507Could have been done with simple magnets, like many Spiderman figures do. The whole block seems to be a magnet that attaches to the wall anyway, so there's no real reason for this other than "the figure cannot do the pose."And I mean, we can see that she can't. Look at the upper foot-covers, the one stuck to the wall is squashed down to this tiny sliver. You could never do that on the actual figure.
>>10654507The front ankle covers are partially why she cant do that pose since it impedes her from making her foot touching parallel to her leg.Im not going to even bother using that piece honestly since I can imagine the sockets loosening due to the weight distribution.

>>10656077another thing i'd like to add is that non-yamaguchi revoltechs tend to be more expensive than yamaguchi made revo. Unless its eva
>>10655920You will travel all the way up a sacred mountain to meet an old sculptor who's been making Bunraku dolls for 10 generations. After he denies your request several times, he will finally cave in and take you as his disciple. For 5 years you'll be making tea for him, then he will give you a blunt pen knife and tell you to carve (non-articulated) Jizo figurines for 5 more years. As you're on the verge of giving up, one day, a butterfly will land onto your last Jizo of the day, and you will have a realization: carving, sculpting, making action figures, it all makes sense now. You will drop all your shit and go "sensei! sensei! and when you'll barge into his room he'll know already. That's what he wanted you to discover. He'll say "soooo da ne..." and tell you that you've learned everything he could teach you, and you're on your own now.But then, an incredibly well-articulated Oni attacks the shack, pulling all sorts of dynamic poses. His posing is truly incredible. Sensei tells you to run while he sends his Bunraku dolls to fight the demon. In what looks like a JoJo posing contest, they duke it out before your eyes. But the demon kills your master and points a fully articulated finger at you. He tells a well-articulated speech on why he won't kill you because you're a pathetic carver and he only eats the best carvers in order to gain even more amazing articulation. Insulted and defeated as the demon leaves, you wield your dead master's kiridashi knife and swear to become the best action figure maker in the world, and one day, defeat that Oni...

>>10656077Yamaguchi has supposedly done the articulation for these AY so should be fine. But so were those Vulcanlogs he didn't sculpt.
>>10655875>>5.Monster HunterIf they're doing more Hunters this guy is the third guy based on the two they made. Looks cool enough I appreciate these 3 having different design styles.
>>10656482It's like an edgy modernization of DQ Golem, love it.

>>10655875>Star RailAnd I want this for Star Rail. Basically I want robots or robotic looking AY if I can't get giant robots. Throw in Iida for MHA he looks like a robot. >helmet head is exclusivenoooo

>>10655565You can already have this with just a tiny amount of customization. Buy the old Kinnikuman Revo, swap on the blank head, remove the floating belt, and sand off the cuffs and boot lines. Then just mask a straight line across the chest, paint top half silver, bottom half blue, print a pepsi decal for the chest, and cut a tiny section of jewelry chain for him to wear. It's a balls-easy custom and will basically get you a Yamaguchi-style Pepsiman.
>>10657001Also even though this figure is old and has ratcheting joints, it's def a high point in the line. Absurdly flexible and his body can compress super tight for insane posing ability. This is one of the most fun figures I've ever owned, it gets into great looking poses with such ease.
Kinnikuman AY series isn't totally out of the realm of possibilities. New anime is coming.
>>10656426>Yamaguchi has supposedly done the articulation for these AY so should be fine. But so were those Vulcanlogs he didn't sculpt. but even still, the articulation range of those vulcanlogs were limited. Just compare the promo pic of vulcanlog teostra to glavenus and you can see which figure has the most articulation.
>>10657065I know I have them all somewhere. It wasn't bad though, much better than other places if they made a full armor knight figure then.
