Tried out the pencil-shading technique on Figma Strength. Haven't sealed it yet but I'm impressed at how good this looks, for such a simple process (drawing lines and blending them out with a cotton bud) it makes really decent skin shading. Plus if you fuck up and you haven't sealed you can just wipe it off with water.

Took advice and had a second, far more reserved go at the coloured-pencil shading method. This time I think it worked a lot better, I just used one very subtle colour and blended it to hell and back, checked it under harsher light and then blended it again.

Got some cosclay and aluminium armature wire in today and had a play about with it, made this poseable tentacle. It does seem to have its limits (I got some cracking at certain parts) but honestly this is seriously impressive; the piece was baked straight and it's fully poseable. I'm absolutely gonna be using this for more stuff.
