A thread about the fun and inexpensive Chap Mei and Lanard brands. Post everything Chap Mei/Lanard you have or want to have!
>>10621837I can't get over how narrow some Chap Mei vehicles are.Anyway, I keep hoping these get clearanced out, because I only want the female diver. There's one in the Animal Planet shark rescue set at Target, but it's $40 too.
>>10621939Walmart has some fun looking stuff, sets like this and such. From what I've bought at goodwill they all seem quality, might look odd compared to more affluent brands but still does the job. Really the only affordable option for 33/4 sized toys now. Also bump for op, glad you still keep this fire going.
They keep coming out with these weird, fun sets which I never see anywhere.
>>10621939>I can't get over how narrow some Chap Mei vehicles are.yeah it's a bit of a con, can't really tell that when they're in the packaging.
This was recently announced and looks very fun.
>>10621984Check.Family Dollar and Dollar General. They carry Soldier Force, Dino Valley and Wild Quest. The mech in >>10621995 can be found at DG for $15.
>>10622144DG even has the female diver I was looking for in a $5 ser! I guess I know where I'm going tomorrow.
bump
>>10621837Chap Mei has had some nice stuff, but a lot of their vehicles are really narrow.
>>10621837>>10621984>>10621995>>10622338It kills me that I can't find these things in stores anymore. I'd grab so many of these sets without even a second thought. You'd think Amazon would be a perfect place to sell these, but even they don't really carry any of the newer stuff. Probably one of my favorite aisle in Toys R Us was the Chap Mei/True Soldier/Legends section. They always had fantastic vehicles and playsets at fantastic prices. But at least Chap Mei is still releasing stuff. I'm still waiting on *anything* Corps related from Lanard to come out. It seems all they care about are their six inch aliens and weird hollow gorilla toys. Pic related was the last Chap Mei item I was able to get from TRU before they shut down. >>10621939>>10622340Yea, I noticed they were doing that more and more often. They had a lot of great designs ruined by the need to fit more boxes on the shelf. That badass armored transport looses a lot of it's luster when the troops have to stand single file, there's only one driver seat and a stiff breeze could tip it over.
>>10622367You'd think you could find corps! stuff on Amazon or even ali but it's all gone.
>>10622378They still Jurassic/Primal Clash on Amazon. The Corps gift set is on there, too. They just don't seem to deal with the smaller, cheaper stuff since they already have True Heroes.
Oh? Finally a thread specifically about these figures!does anyone know of a set with sprues that had knives in it? specifically a Kukri, been looking for it for years now ever since i was younger and just never seem to have luck, i don't really remember much else about it other than that bent little knife and learning what a kukri was!these toys were the best for my little broke childhood!
>>10622144Nice, but it's the mech base I'm after more than the mech itself.
"Uh, anus inspection.""Here you go, brah, I think you'll find everything is in order."
The main reason I like this stuff is that you can buy it for modding really cheaply for great results. I just bought an airbrush and want a wacky design to try to make look like an Acid Rain type vehicle.
>>10622394No one cares about the Corps figures, it's all about their sweet sweet cheap ass vehicles. It's as this >>10622802 anon points out, a lot of the allure of these budget lines is the potential they bring. Even less intricate mods can really make some of these fantastic toys shine better then stuff twice as expensive. Which btw, that's a great mod, I assume all those doors and hatches open? Got any pics of it all crewed up?
>>10622801>>DODGE THIS MAMMAL
>>10622802i really cant get enough of seeing people mod toys like this. its still largely a niche community but it always entertains me. bumping with pic related, some anon's attempt at kidproofing his son's final faction ATV. something as simple as adding zip ties to the thing some how gave it so much additional character.
>>10623471This would probably look badass if they used black zip ties. I gotta dig out my ATV and try that myself.
>>10623684if you can share the results. I'd love to see how the mod turns out. Really cant wait for the holidays to swing into full effect just to start seeing all those chap mei and chap mei ripoff sets start getting stocked.
>>10623471Cool!
>>10621995>>10622144>>10622338>>10622799these must not be out yet. generally theres a good indicator if somethings out based on if its on ebay, and im seeing nothing on ebay at all.
>>10623471That's one way to get the plating secured, mine keep falling off. Had to put all my final faction stuff away except for a few crawlers but I bet I could find this
Anyone seen this boxy lad in the wild? I really like it for some reason.
Are these Final Faction? Some lad was selling modded vehicles on Ebay a while back.
>>10627701first Im hearing of it honestly but now I want one too. the car has that perfect pulpy look to it.
>>10627716this one is, the arrow ATV>>10627718not sure what this one is however. certainly not final faction thats for sure
>>10621939Neat!
>>10627701>>10627707That's a new set to me, and it looks fantastic. Though I like the color better in >>10627712 then the official promo pics. That weird sickly yellow/tan color Chap Mei is so fond of never really looks good. Either way I'd happily grab it if I ever see it for sale, but I don't think any stores by me would actually carry a set like that.
>>10627701That vehicle is huge.
These fun-looking Lanard vehicles were announced about a year ago but I've seen nothing of them since. Great modding opportunities.
>>10627716Damn, that's pretty gnarly.
>>10622394I'm really amazed at all this arm articulation, last time I remember, they could barely move their shoulders.>>10621939Even the arms in these look more dynamic
My local toy store has literally the exact same The Corps and Chap Mei stuff as they did three years ago when I first started getting into this.
is it just me, or are these the same as those animal planet toys they used to have at Toys R Us? What's the story behind these?
>>10622802what's the gun on top from? Looks too in scale and quality for chinkshit.
>>10631638They were made by the same company and just repainted/repurposed. >>10631314They don't even have anything new on Amazon.
Is this the narrowest vehicle yet?
>>10631638You know how you can order generic products off alibaba and have them slap your logo.png on it? Chap Mei is the equivalent of that for military toys just that they've been in the business even before the e-commerce boom. This one apparently uses official US Army logos.
>>10632996I think we have that at work, I'm gonna see what I find. Kinda related, but the store has these awesome Dino strike figures marked down to $2. I've got three so far, highly recommended if you see them.
Found this. Maybe it can be helpfull?https://chapmei-universe.proboards.com/thread/127/chap-mei-archive-checklist
>>10634452Thanks anon
