Joe Spy Troops (PAL version, ripped and edited by a very kind Aussie Anon/Spy Troops anon):
>>10438042Another teaser update for the next Classified HasLab.
>>10438043Really? Another Haslab after the Hell Charger and Rancor failure? Mighty kek
>>10438046Are you unaware that the HISS Tank sold like gangbusters?
>>10438049No, you don't understand, it was a fluke. there aren't that many Joe fans, there are a handful of figures that are easy to get so there is no sales, ignore the fact that the line is continuing at all, ignore that they are planning several out.No it will never happen and the many many times haslabs have succeeded are trivial to the few failures.
>>10438049There was a hiss tank Haslab?
>>10438069Yes. Is this your first time in a Joe thread within the last year?>https://hasbropulse.com/products/g-i-joe-classified-series-cobra-h-i-s-s
>>10438046As other series flop, only successful series will remain.
I thought HISSTank launched after the Rancor anyway. Or maybe it was right around the same time.
>>10437342Where the fook is Snake Eyes?
>>10438129Knowing how most generals, the resident troll is here just because he thinks 4chins is supposed to be just people being cunts. The guy who gets autistic for poses that aren't the A pose, gratefully isn't here.
>>10438135Hiya recently said Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow are getting ready to ship. Does anyone even know where to order them from? Only place I found that had them listed marked them up to like $35 which was lame. I wonder why BBTS didn't get them.
>>10438042Cobra Viper 3 pack update.Called Hasbro, complained loudly about the factory fuck-up three pack I got at Gamestop. Sent them photos of the fucked up Viper figure and the rep agreed to mail me a replacement without forcing me to send back the entire set. New set arrived today. White Viper wasn't a frankenstein freakshow with black arms. However, in a bit of irony, the replacement set I got had two sniper rifles and only one of the sci-fi guns! Not going to complain about that mix up since I prefer real guns over the sci-fi stuff!
How come no one is talking about the fact that that Mezco Destro finally came out? Was he that shit, or did everyone just give up on thinking he was ever coming out?
Anyone know what gloved hands are compatible for the Joe figures in the Classified? The Joe figures seem to have hands with short connector numbs but the Cobra figures have longer slender nobs that aren't compatible with the Joe arms. And vice versa. Want to give Dusty and Bazooka gloved hands but can't find any gloved hands from my Cobra figures that fit their ports.
>>10438145Cool that they added the tattoo, probably not a cheap print either, and that looks well done, assuming that's production. And with Beachhead on the horizon, I wonder if I should get into the line. So far 4/4 masked characters. I wonder if they want to make sure whatever face printing they use is nailed down. It's also really good to see double jointed arms on regular sized 4" figures.
>>10438042From the thumbnail I thought we were getting dinosaur troopers, like maybe a raptor of gallimimus or something
>>10438193I got him and think hes great. I just think he might be a hard sell for a lot of people with how similar he looks to the classified one.
It is a mask, right?
>>10438223Kek now I can't unsee that. I suppose you could make that using Hammond Collection figures.
What is everyone’s thoughts on custom JOE vehicles?
Classified Series Lunartix Empire figures in 2027.
>>10438414Like from Snailiens?
>>10438427No, Hasbro just copied the homework for the name.
>>10438403What do you mean by custom?
>>10438448Custom as in someone else designed and made them. I don’t get what’s so difficult to comprehend there.
>>10438463No reason to be an ass, I just didn’t know what the word meant. But now that you’ve explained, I only buy official Joes made by Hasbro
Amazon has this plasma drill from the shitty Buzz Lightyear movie toyline on sale for $7. It fits Classified figures. Been seeing other people repainting it to use for both Joe's and Cobra weapons so I grabbed one to do the same.
>>10438403>>10438463Have any examples? Perhaps not from a certain recent YouTube video?
>>10438468Don't use laser weapons.
>>10438479Holy shit, I had this. This is what got me into GI Joes. This little sub had more soul in it than anything else. It was the epitome of the toyline, something that every vehicle afterwards tried to aspire to be, but none could even come close. Even my parents would play with it sometimes. It brought my family closer together. I owe everything to this little sub. May you venture the seas forever, little Sea Wolf.
>>10438145Nostalgia fags ruined Classified
>>10438541So how much damage did Snake Eyes's movie do?
>>10438563I think it might be a few years before we fully understand what a setback that movie was to the IP. It was supposed to get a fresh batch of kids into the IP like Spy Troops, Sigma 6, and the movies did before it, but it was so devoid of any of what makes the GI Joe IP special that it's had even less of a cultural footprint than Sgt. Savage or G.I. Joe Extreme. Not making the main line 1/18 scale was a huge mistake, but so was the movie itself, so it's just as well that they don't fit with an established line.I've ranted about why the movie was trash enough in these threads. Suffice to say, Hasbro put all their chips on a lame horse and now GI Joe is pretty much an adult collector line only except for the GI Joe dads who have kids. I'm sure in a few years Hasbro will try again but they will likely have less creative control over it since they are getting out of the movie business. And a fat lot of good that creative control did them when they sabotaged their own movie as bad as any third party studio hack could.
>>10438645What was so bad about it exactly? I thought it was okay at best. But I don’t understand the hatred it gets.
>>10438046>failureBoth GI Joe Haslabs were overwhelming success, achieving all stretch goals except one.
>>10438667What was the other GI Joe Haslab besides the hiss tank?
>>10438649I'll just copypasta what I said in the last /tv/ thread about that movie:>The minute they decided all ninjas have to be Asian because of race politics the movie was fucked. They changed and simplified parts of his backstory in Rise of Cobra but he was still ostensibly the same character he'd always been.>Snake Eyes is a white outsider who was brought into the clan by Tommy / Storm Shadow. That is an essential part of his backstory. He was also in the US military before he wore the all black getup, and in the Snake Eyes movie he is never shown to be in the military at all. In the comics it's explained that his face is kinda fucked up from the helicopter crash, and he has damaged vocal chords, which Rise of Cobra never addressed, given that the GIJOSE changed or left out everything else about his backstory, it's a complete different character. Lastly, the real Snake Eyes is not driven by revenge or vengeance. He's driven by loyalty and duty, and he still sees Storm Shadow as his brother even though they are enemies. He doesn't even wear the costume until the very end of GIJOSE, and he never loses his ability to speak because "we can't silence Asians" or some dumb bullshit.>Ray Park was an absolute pro about being Snake Eyes. He was already a fan of the IP from childhood and he understood that the role was bigger than himself. He never demanded a one-liner or a mask off scene. He did all his acting with his body and it worked. Henry Golding sees himself as bigger than the role and above it, and he would not have taken the role if he had to spend a significant amount of time in a mask or if his character had to stop speaking, because they were hoping GIJOSE would serve as a reboot for a GI Joe Cinematic Universe and they knew he wouldn't come back if he had to wear a mask and couldn't talk, and they wanted this "huge star's" face on a poster. This was a Henry Golding movie, not a Snake Eyes movie, and nobody showed up to watch a Henry Golding movie.
>>10438687>1/18oh that’s why I didn’t know about it then
If you're willing to spend the money, Mezco Destro is THe Destro. My first Mezco and he's much more impressive in person than in photos. Zero complaints, and I love how easily his joints articulate and how easily yet snug you can swap out pieces.
>>10438691Super7 will be better.
>>10438702It's around half the price and at least 4 times as bad. And Mezco is usually trash so what does that tell you.
>>10438691yeah, i pretty much stopped giving a shit about Hasbro's Classified line once Mezco announced they had the license. Wasn't even really collecting the Classified line though, as i have like 5 figures and most of those were gifted to me.One:12 is my go to for 1:12 figures, even for Marvel and DC. Been hooked to the line ever since their very first Dark Knight Returns Batman. Better than Hasbro's lines and even stuff from Mafex and Figma. My Destro is sitting in my pile of loot at BBTS and I'm mulling over what i should buy to go with him, as it's convention season and i can find better deals at the showrooms.
>>10438182well bully for you! you got your way! I swear to christ, you should have fucking shut up and kept the arm guards on the Viper instead of bullying a Hasbro executive into sending you a free $90 toy.
>>10438681ROC actually established that SE wasn't mute, but had taken a vow of silence after Storm Shadow killed his uncle to protect him from being hunted down by his family's ninja clan.
>>10438691>>10438708Yes, I love their dwarf proportions. So amazing.
>>10438691zero complaints? really? have you put his forearm gauntlet on?
>>10438713Yeah, it was not perfect but it still kept the aspect of Snake not being able to speak. And as we saw in the Snake Eyes movie, it could be a lot worse than that.
>>10438479>>10438492Is this a shitpost or something?
>>10438866Wholesome six inch kino goodness? :o
I finally started accumulating parts to build a custom classified-scale Mr. T / B.A. Baracus, and I'm basically following what Kobocop for his. AEW Ortiz body with WWE Legends Mr. T parts. I couldn't find the same bracelets he used at a price I was comfortable with but I did find some that I think will accomplish basically the same thing. Picrel is his, not mine, although if I do it right mine will be similar. I might paint his shoes up as chucks instead of black-tipped white sneakers.I (briefly) considered looking into trying to swap his arms with some Roadblock ones and going bare-armed but honestly, the red softgoods shirt is really the brilliant part that makes this work, and I don't want to tread too far into uncharted territory.I gotta say, Jazzwares is someone to pay attention to in the action figure scene. I've never bought a thing from them before and I'm not even into wrestling, but I would love to see a military / action hero line from them someday. I will have to shave down some plastic to get a bit more range on the arms but it'll be covered up by the red shirt, so I'm not worried. I'm also working on Classified customs of Rambo and John Matrix and I'm excited to see how they turn out.
>>10438866>he didn’t get to experience the Sea Wolf in all its glory
>>10438895As a super casual wrestler figure fan I can say rhat the bodies they use are magic. Like that Mr t you used, I can ball him up and throw it at a wall and it's fine. Check out jazzwares fortnite stuff, it's good.
>>10438042That mask is really dumb.
>>10438942No it’s not.
>>10438945Yes it is. Why is the middle just randomly a smooth material and different color? Why is there a small patch of texture on the chin? It looks really really bad.
>>10438949It's to imply that it's a mesh material that he can breathe through. The Classified Series Beach Head has the same thing and so does Valaverse Blowback (I own both).
>>>10438145 stores charging mark upyeah, Hiya lists it at $19.99, but not a single store I've found is selling it at that price.
>>10438949You’re a literal retard who clearly has never seen tactical stuff
>>10438691I was surprised how much I like him. I don't normally think mezco stuff looks great but with this figure the weird proportions are cancelled out by the design and fact he's supposed to be sort of huge and imposing. Not sure I will pick any more up though because the rest look much worse.>>10438763The gauntlet missiles are definitely my big complaint, no idea why its so easy to pop off. Not that easy to fix either, the peg is just too short for it to get a good grip even after thickening it. My other complaint is the gun holster; the straps feel really fragile for something you're supposed to be swapping the holsters on and I can see it breaking very easily if you do it a few too many times. Probably should have been secured to the leg but they wanted it to be removable.
>>10438472Nigro, the HAL Heavy Artillery Laser was in the line during the first year.
Wow it's been awhile since a reveal huh?
>>10439256Classified had some within a month, Hiya had one yesterday. Unless you mean Mezco or Super7, then we've gotten news.
>>10438949I have a halfmask with the same thing I use for work in the winter. The middle part is thinner mesh to make it easier to breath, the thicker chin padding is to make it more comfortable to wear and talk in. That's the part that will also see the most wear and tear so it's thicker so it doesn't rip apart as fast. These are all basic, real life concepts used on a modern balaclava mask, which works just fine for Beachhead.
>>10438472You know you're allowed to mod it however you like, right? I've seen people adding tank and machine guns to it as well as missile pods.
>>10439038>>10438145Because they're imported. Hasbro put a block on Hiya being able to sell them in North America through retailers in the contract. So you pay the import price or you don't get the figures
>>10439327Well hopefully they change that. It's not like Hasbro is producing modern 4" Joe's to compete with them. I found a place selling them for $25 so I just placed an order for Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow.
What’s everyone’s favorite GI Joe vehicle?
>>10439719Joes: the SnowcatCobra: Imp
>>10439083>>10439282It looks like shit. Cope.
>>10439731Rattler, I will get a legit one of my own one dayNight viper And idk, sky hawk. No, what did cross country drive? That thing was cool but I never had one so I played with my buddy's.
>>10439907It looked fine on the Classified figure but the grey Hiya went with looks odd. Ain't nothing that a little paint can't fix though.
>>10439327>Because they're imported.Hiya is Chinese though, and should have local distributors in various countries. If you look at the non-US/English pages on places like Robot Kingdom and other foreign sites that sell the figures, they're still marked up over their MSRP.This makes me believe that Hiya doesn't have localized distribution in other countries and Hiya doesn't have euro/asian distributors, which would account for euro/asian stores needing to pay extra from a non-local distributor. In other words, wat?
>>10439931It looks fine to me. Stop your bitching.
>>10440057How am I bitching? I'm not even the guy that originally said it looks dumb. I don't like the particular color and have an easy way to fix it. That's not bitching at all.
>>10439719If I had to pick one, it'd be the R.H.I.N.O. I know it's not a vintage vehicle, but it pretty much ticks all the boxes for what I'm looking for in a vehicle. It's large, but not overwhelmingly so, it requires a multi-figure crew, has troop carrying capacity, has a decent load out and it's gimmick is actually a lot of fun and doesn't really ruin the toy. I have the blue RoC version and subsequently built a squad of all the blue camo/reactive armor RoC figures I collected to man it. Still need to get me one more figure to work the com station, but otherwise it's fully crewed. Rolling Thunder would be up on the list, but there's too many little things about it I wasn't too fond of. Open seat turrets, it's unwieldy size, and most of all the fact that it was an ICBM Clusterbomb mobile launch vehicle used...by G.I. Joe. That kind of firepower always seemed a bit too indiscriminate for the "good guys" to use in my head, and with all the turrets and missiles, I always felt it would've been better off as a Cobra vehicle. >>10439931The colors on the Hiya one make it look weird. The Classified one works better because while it does have different colors, they're all similar shades of military greens so it's less jarring.
>>10438895The bottom half of Classified Mr. T is done.
>>10440057Just for that I'm going to share everywhere my issues with it.
>>10441929Do it in a spare tfg thread or that other bullshit thread. I believe you've exhausted the issue here.
Give your Snake Eyes a sick coat, he deserves it.
>>10442707That would just cause drag.
>>10442727Well it wouldn't be the first time Snake Eyes was in drag.
>>10441602Also started on Rambo.
>>10443140>puts a shirtless torso on legsSTARTED ON RAMBO
>>10443144I had to remove a tattoo off of a Gung Ho torso, strip a bunch of paint off of an Aquaman bandolier, attach a quiver to it, cook Stalker's legs, Gung Ho's crotch cover, and a gray knife sheath in black dye, seal them in varnish, and paint Gung Ho's crotch structure black. There is a lot more work going on here than might be apparent initially.
>>10443140don't you have a blog to go to
>>10443162no. I just like talking about my toys.
>>>10442956 having colorful clothes and long hair is dressing liek a femalelol, what a zoomer
>>10443152Wow anon sounds like you put a lot of effort in. Cool for you. What youve shown, looks like youre making good progress, keep it up!
>>10442679That could be slick, but I'd rather get eco warriors first. Of course I'm still patiently waiting for psyche out and dee jay. Just make em in a haslab or something hasbro!
>>10442727Sure, but style. >>10442956Oh, well done.
>>10443549>>10443552That's pretty kickass.
BBTS is having a one day sale on Classified B.A.T.s for $19.99.
>>10443925Still too expensive.
>>10443925Please. No more BATs. I still have one u opened BAT and Alley Vuper because I accidentally army built them. That's how I learned I have an impulse control problem. Every time I saw them restocked at Walmart I'd buy all of them. Now I have 8 of each when I only meant to get 1.
>>10443925on sale for retail. Never change BBTS
>>10443951Yea, I limited myself to on 2 Crimson BATs, probably the same with Arctic one. Saving room for Overkill and Neon BATS.
>>10444063That's not retail anymore. Cry to Hasbro.
>>10438691You ready for tomorrow, anon?
>>10444443wow, a preorder? how exciting.Almost as exciting as waiting 4 years for the toy to be released.
>>10443359>Implying Boy George wasn't a drag queen. Get out of here junior. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xil7JV36--k>>10443951I ended up with three bats, and will get a fourth with the Arctic one. If they do straight repaints like the Crimson BAT I can ignore em. But once they throw in new heads/accessories/parts, I'm not left with much of a choice in the matter.
>>10444443If I wanted a big headed doll I'd grab a MEGO. Even those are better proportioned.
>>10443140>>10443368Thanks. Today I was able to carve off the wristbands and sculpt on some scars. Might be a while before I can post another update because I'm still waiting on the head sculpt and the rest of his accessories to arrive.
>>10443925I'm not an army builder, just need one of each. Besides, most of my stuff is still sealed sadly. Guess I'll open crimson bat after work if the mood at home is ok. Still bummed I had to pass xamot and stalker when they went cheap, got Redondo though and I doubt I would have ever bought him otherwise
>>10438691Why is he barrel-shaped?
>>10445190Have you seen Scotsmen?
>>10444457>wearing loose and baggy men's clothing is dragso you're a mormon zoomerMen were wearing colorful shit back then and make up was also a thing in 70s and 80s bands.
>>10445244He was dressed like a woman. It's okay, Pyramid of Darkness was shit anyway. Poor Timber had to dress like a rat.
So yeah, crimson bat does have a weak neck. Cardboard footlocker was a nice touch.
Trouble bubble, artic bat, python crimson guard, and tiger force dusty all going up for preorder today.
>>10446998Wish he wasn't Pulse exclusive
>>10446998>>10447031Not the way I want to start June, Hasbro.
God, I'm so tired of this shit all being exclusives.I forget: Do you have to pay up front with Pulse?
>>10447098No, they charge when it ships and usually send an email letting you know a few days beforehand that the item will be in stock soon.
I got the BAT off Amazon just fine, why isn't Pulse showing their shit yet?
>>10447098I swear they used to charge up front when using PayPal, but no. They don't. Also, Trouble Bubble secured.
>>10447123>I swear they used to charge up front when using PayPal, but no. They don't.Used to, they took that away because PP flags even business accounts for having too many "pre-order" assets on hold. Been a thing for the last year
>>10446792Get a new couch dude
>>10447125Okay, thought I was crazy.
Damn Trouble Bubble glamor shots making me regret skipping Steel Brigade
>>10447122You mean the 1st hour premium only stuff? iirc they usually have it by email link only for the 1st 15 minutes or longer to discourage the trigger happy types.
God this looks so awesome. I'm not even going to use it as an Arctic specific B.A.T., it's just going to be a normal unit for me. That new head and webgear really sells it.
>>10447178Yeah, he looks great. The best looking BAT. Even the color fade on the visor of the OG head looks really cool.
I went in for 2 B.A.T.s and one Trouble Bubble. I'd like another one down the line but September is already a heavy month for me.
>>10447159They haven't gone on sale yet.
>>10447178Looks sufficiently cool, 90% because of that head and chainsaw arm, that I'm going to buy it and I don't have a Classified collection. I'll probably repaint it, but still super cool as is.
>Oh boy, here I go killing again!>>10447200Really? I hard-decided against them so long ago I thought they already went up for preorder and sold out lol
>>10438895You could probably hollow out Marvel Legends stilt man feet and use them for bracers. Theyre in abundance.
I need an Alley Viper repaint. Hopefully that's one of the reveals this time.
>>10447222Same. I hope they do a red and black version and take a page out of this Arctic B.A.T. playbook and give them a new helmet that looked like the original design we were supposed to get with Classified.
>>10447247Man...this design with the 90's yellow-black AV color scheme would work so well
>>10447031Sadly it's the only way they can sell vehicles now. Target and Walmart aren't going to be ordering larger boxed toys that are pricey and don't move.
>>10447273They're not even that expensive. The Baroness, Breaker, and TF Duke were what, $40-$50? Most big-box retailers carry shit that's way more expensive than that, and takes up way more shelf space.Hell, they could probably sell the vehicles and figures alone, and maybe even make more money, and would take less actual shelf space.
>>10447247>>10447268I'd be on board with either of these. The Yellow and Black v2.0 AV and the Maroon, black, and grey one from Pursuit of Cobra are my two most wanted repaints.I could even see the black and yellow version being a straight repaint, just with the appropriate shield, and then do the POC version with the more modernized helmet and parts.
>>10447247Night viper shouldn't be too difficult to do using av right?
>>10447273Meanwhile, right next to the Joes, my Target has the giant Spinmaster Batwing from the Flash movie. It's like they're taunting us at this point.
>>10447396Properties with active movie lines always get priority spacing in brick 'n mortar stores. But those bat planes will be in the bargin bin in no time.
So they're really starting a new one next week.
I'm going to do it bros
>>10447870Quite frankly you would make a killing doing this and then selling in a few years.
>>10447911But at what damage to your soul?
>>10447216The ones I bought look pretty good. I'll be posting an update soon, I'm just waiting for Mr. T's shirt to arrive.
>"Behold Commander. Our new prototype for the Assault System Pod.">"Excellent work Destro. NOW PAINT IT BLUE AND ADD BIGGER GUNS! I want those Joes blasted from the skies with no chance to deploy a parachute!"
>>10448093So what happens to guys that use parachutes? Do they have to walk back to base?
>>10447773Fuck yeah, I'm going to get three just to spite the guy who says the HISS tank wasn't really a success.
>>10441602What legs are those?
>>10448538What? That doesn't make sense, how was it not a success? It got funded, that's all it needed to do to succeed.
Grunt and Crimson Viper reveals. Preorders later this year
OK, got a artic bat and trouble bubble. Gotta wait till pay day to loan target $25 for a python guard, kinda stuck on which dusty looks better. So whens the new haslab being announced? I'd love for a supporting role figure to be included, like breaker or dial tone life line doc etc. If we are getting Tele vipers then it's time for the joes to get a guy too.
>>10448670>vest overlays blocking torso articulationD R O P P E D
>>10448670Can they please repaint some of the other troopers beyond just the Viper and the BAT?
>>10447773Fuck man. They're starting that in June and the Star Wars team is launching theirs in July. I really wish they'd pace this stuff out more considering there's a lot of cross pollination between these fandoms.
>>10448680I dont think any of the lines realize theyre poaching from each otherwell maybe Hasbro brass does because theyre going to want to bring more to their house brands.
>>10448673>Gotta wait till pay day to loan target $25 for a python guard, kinda stuck on which dusty looks better. If you've never ordered from Target before, be warned: Their PO system fucking blows. I'll never PO a figure from them again. They charge you every single week, and then refund the money a couple days later, and they'll do this for the six months or so until the figure releases. What's more, they'll occasionally send you an email and you'll need to re-confirm the order, and you've got like two days to confirm it, or they'll just cancel it, They also sometimes just unexpected cancel the order about a week before the figure releases after you spent months battling through this fiasco.I POed two PP BATS and Vipers from them, and every week I got to watch $100 disappear, and then reappear in my account. It isn't even the same day that it comes out either. Honestly, the TF and PP figures became so abundant and easy to find at Target, I'm not even going to bother POing these guys. Literally all of the TF and PP figures got clearanced out for 50% off anyway.

Thinking I might just preorder a Trubble Bubble, Copperhead, and maybe one of those Cobra t-shirts. Shit's hilarious.

>>10448753Well, it may not be readable in the final product.
>>10448705Yea, I'll never do a PO with them again either. I spent a year dealing with their weekly charge bullshit for TF Outback and then when they started to ship, they just fucking cancelled mine for no reason. Luckily I caught them in stock and just ordered a new one with no hassle. Stupidest crap I've ever dealt with on a preorder.

My collection was growing exponentially and i was thankful i was living with my parents, because i was poor as fuck by enjoying such a high disposable income. While the 1:18 market is growing again, it's a pretty damn ripoff compared to back then. Too many collector companies thinking they're high end shit, when their quality is worse than everything from back then.

What's the damage going to realistically get my hands on a HISS? I got into collecting after the funding and see people trying to sell them for $500+ on eBay. Any chance these might lower once they're released and people sit on the multiple tanks they bought?
>>10450135>I got into collecting after the funding and see people trying to sell them for $500+ on eBay.They probably won't really go down much. Most of the Haslabs sell for waaay more than their original backing price on the aftermarket. Maybe you could get a deal if you just want the tank and don't care about the figures or something. I'm sure there will be people parting the tanks out.
man, i woulda bought that classified stalker if his uniform was green instead of gray
>>10450544I'm sure taking that shawl off his shoulders improves the look dramatically. Besides he's green camo, he's like the snake eyes of green shirts imo. I wonder what a Sci fi version would've looked had hasbro kept going in that direction.
>>10450135I think the team said they weren't against the possibility of releasing it again at some point. It would probably just be without all the bonus stuff from stretch goals, electronics, and likely a different deco.
>>10450781Which would actually be great. I'd love to have some stock versions to team up with the haslab one being a command tank.
>>10450703Huh. There was never a PoC one which I would have used for the base of my guess. Maybe not that much different, but with a more fancy web harness.

>>10451464I sort of wish they would bring back the Cobra Island theme, but I guess repaints are the cheaper way to go.
>>10451649I agree. I like alternative/mission specific versions of characters. I never really cared for TF or PP stuff as a kid so I was kind of bummed to see those take over as Target's offerings (although I opted to get the TF Outback over the standard one in Classified).

10 minutes until the Dragonfly HASLAB folks. You think they'll reveall all the unlocks on the get go so it gets funded in the hour?
>>10452779If the haslab IS the Dragonfly, think it would be some updated near-future super helicopter or an outdated thing like the dragonfly already is.I could see them doing the SHARC.
>>10452779nah, hasbro is stupid and holds back announcing the unlocks instead of getting people interested early. We'll only get the first tier today I bet.
>>10452787Just a beefier updated Apache looking thing would do fine. More addon potential and the bulk will make it worth the $350.
>>10452800>that noseOof. Well, it's a prototype. Bummed they didn't go with the VAMP.
>>10452815I hate how slavish this is. Its still an ancient AH-1 with no tail rotor. At least make it look like an AH-1Z so it can fit with the ascetic of classified.

Does pulse premium give you free shipping on haslabs too? Might go ahead and get it finally before backing this if it does.
>>10452830>Standard shipping and handling to the contiguous United States included for Hasbro Pulse Premium members. Shipping and handling charges will be calculated at the time of checkout for Hasbro non-Pulse Premium Members.
>>10452828This is trending hard towards funding, what do you think the other figure goals are? Gunner and mechanic seem obvious. A female mechanic would be cool since we got thicc Cobra ladies.
>>10452830It did before, but unless you're ordering more than one or making 3+ other orders before your membership lapses it costs more than the shipping.
Over 3k all ready.
>>10452800I thought fans were doing the best work?
>>10452840I really hope we get an airborne since he was on the original box. They mentioned they may have shown them already, so I'm thinking one will be an alt version of a figure already announced. Maybe another General Hawk since he was featured heavily in the campaign.
>>10452828I'm gonna make a bet that it will be fully funded by the end of today.
>>10452827Looks good. I really have no interest in the dragonfly itself so I guess I’ll be holding out for them to release him on a retro card in the sunbow colors.
>>10452840MSGT W.C. Culbert, of course.
>>10452779Ripcord is the first revealed stretch goal. Honestly I think he's a great one to throw in since he's a minor character but still has some very unique accessories and sculpt parts to offer. And I'm glad it's him and not Ace because that means we might actually be getting a jet Haslab in a year or two.
>>10452840One is Scarlet in her classic look up updated enough for classified. last figure is Airborne since he's on the original boxart.
>>10452858Thankfully they went with the white Ripcord!!!
>>10452862>last figure is AirborneThat would make a gunner, but does Scarlet fit here?
>>10452858I hope he has a working parachute.
>>10452830You guys don't get "spend x get free shipping" over there?
>>10452863The first character in like 10 years to change back to being a white redhead after being blackwashed. And hopefully not the last.
>>10452875If he does it will have to be huge, because classified figures are a lot heavier for their size than classic joes.
>>10452863Inb4: next unlock is black Ripcord in different colors
>>10452899No they got rid of that a couple of years ago
>>10452828No pre-order bonus figure if early funded like the Tank?
>>10452800Huh, look like it would scale out in the ballpark to 1:18 (actual 1:18, not Joescale), if you happened to want a realistic scale Dragonfly for your 4" Joes.
For anyone who backed the HISS without a Pulse Premium, what was your shipping cost in the US? My Premium expired and if it's going to cost over $20 for shipping, I'll just renew it.
>>10452988They'd probably look like kids sitting in the cockpit, though, unless you're just talking about having them outside of it for pics or something.
>>10452992Just looked mine up. It was $22 for standard shipping for the HISS.
>>10452993You would definitely have to retrofit the cockpits if you wanted to have them do anything but stand around, though it's a couple inches too tall, so that may be an issue as well.
>>10452975Thank God! I can't afford to back it right away.
>>10453000Guess I'll just renew it. I know there's bound to be more than 3 Pulse Only exclusives until next year.
>>10453026I haven't renewed my premium yet, and they wanted $16 for the dragonfly. I had $22 for the hiss as well.
>>10453020You got the bonus figure regardless of when you ordered, it was added as soon as they reached the minimum goal
>>10453034Oh you did? That's good. Mattel did it the other way with their Eternia playset and then were going to do it this way, but a bunch the early backers threw a shit fit that they weren't getting more for their money than "latecomers"
>>10453055That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. I don’t remember ever seeing a crowdfunding campaign gatekeeping stretch goals for general backers. They might have limited slots for certain special tiers, or options to pay more for unlocks, but everyone that backs a campaign with stretch goals has access to them.
>>10452863>>10452900Probably the only good thing about the line switching to a more ARAH inspired aesthetic.
>>10452828Oh yeah this will be fully funded by the end of the day if not within a few more hours.
>>10452975If I had to guess after the last two they tried that with going bad it made that gimmick something they wanted to stop doing even if it was a safe bet to work. >>10453055>>10453083They are the same people that loose their shit when reissues occur. They value themselves on how rare their collection is. You should never give a shit about that, you either want the shit or you don't rare or shelf warming.
>>10453120I would do it today but my Premium lasts until like September so I'm waiting to see how July looks. Pretty much a sure thing, but you don't know how things will look in a month just yet
to big for my living. i hope hawk isnt in this thats one of my top joes
>>10453120considering I have no interest in this I am very happy it's still going to be successful. All the Classified shit needs demand to keep products getting made.
>>10453133Hawk was a pipeline reveal a while ago. He might be included in this as an alternative version but he for sure will be available outside of the HasLab.
>>10452858What's their obsession with Night Force Ripcord? This is the second time he's been in a Haslab. We already got fucked out of an '84 colored one with the Skystriker.
>>10452988The Haslab Dragonfly is about 4 inches longer than a 1:18 scale Cobra would be. Not too far off, but still might be noticeably big.
>>10453055>>10453083It's mattel, they do dumb stuff. Like tomorrow they got an exclusive that will sell out in an hour despite knowing the demand. They cater to a different group of people I guess. I'm gonna think on this haslab, that copter will be big and I've already got big toys I can't display.
So what's going to be the thing detractors latch onto about this Haslab to say it's bad?
>>10452862>>10452872I would think they'll do ME "Pilot Scarlet" which was an homage to an international design. This time making her fairly close to updated classic in blue/silver so she can get a retro card re-issue later in true colors.
>>10453165Minimal colors to paint
Talking about airborne being a probable stretch goal, does anyone know the reason they gave a whole new guy that name for the v2? That one was one of my favorite joes as a kid, but I can't imagine he'd get made today since some people would sure cry about whitewashing.
>>10453209Trouble re-securing the trademark name at the time. Companies used to re-use trademark names among lines and then forget to hold onto others. Less common these days. The bigger issue is companies like Hasbro wanting to use a trademark name and having to do like "Marvel's Rogue" instead of just "Rogue"
I wanted my first gi joe to since I was a kid to be pit viper but I missed the PO so I got a mib alley viper for 13 bucks.
>>10453228Yeah, I get that happened with Airborne, that's why he was later called Air Raid and the Sgt Airborne later, but was the actual name, Franklin Talltree really untrademarketable? That's what changed between v1 and v2. Both were "airborne" though.
>>10453120Kek, three successful HL for the joes and transformers. While SW has only had two out of four.
>>10452828When do they take your money? I want a 2.5 ft long heli
So if the Dragonfly is a HasLab, I hope the FANG can be a retail release. Or at least an exclusive similar to the Flight Pod.
Anyone pissy that they aren't just fucking doing an alternate hat wearing head for Wild Bill instead of more of that removable hair/head shit? I mean, for the prices of this fucking thing, the least they can do is give Wild Bill an alternate head for fucks' sake.
>>10453260At the end of the campaign, in 42 days
>>10438042Anyone bought a Haslab thing via paypal? Does it put a hold on my paypal balance or does it not not charge my paypal until the closing date?
>>104531821. Wild Bill's going to be exclusive to this set meaning he won't get reissued as a stand-alone figure2. Ripcord being exclusive to this set; even though he's in Night Force colors there is no guarantee he'll get reissued in regular colors at retail3. Airborne potentially being exclusive to the set 4. Hawk being exclusive to this set, ESPECIALLY if it's the iconic brown jacket/brown haired version of Hawk. 5. Generally speaking, the exclusive figures in general since it brings up flashbacks to how many A-List characters were convention/sub club exclusive figures.
>>10453133>>10453150I'm just hoping Hiss Tank Driver is a solo release as well some atpoint too. Fucking love that design and like to have him a few times over. I backed the Hisstank but I don't have the room or really interest for more than one of the tank.
>>10453282>A-List characters were convention/sub club exclusive figures.Who was it? I feel like all the A-listers short of Slaughter ended up at retail.
>>10453182That they are asking for another $275 preorder when they haven't shipped the last $300 preorder yet.
>>10453276They don't charge til the night the campaign ends. That's how they did my Victory Saber and deathsaurus. Would have got the hiss tank, but they had to have it and deathsaurus right together.
>>10452800Oh that thing's awesome, and it's pretty huge too. The stand also looks really nice, as are Wild Bill and Ripcord. This thing also being under $300 is a nice bonus as well, especially if we end up with four actual figures and tons of accessories by the end of it. ....but boy am I glad I don't care about the Dragonfly. I was worried I'd have to back this thing, and right now my toy budget is stretched super thin. Hopefully the next figure is Pilot Scarlet or Flight Suit Snake Eyes or some random crap.
>>10453296Zaranna, Dial Tone, Jinx, Metalhead, Captain Gridiron, Python Patrol Trooer, and Footloose.
>>10453315>Zaranna, Dial Tone, Jinx, Metalhead, Captain Gridiron, Python Patrol Trooer, and Footloose.I feel like the closest to A-List would be Zaranna and Dial Tone since they played a bit in the Movie and that's really pushing it. I'm aware Gridiron was in the DiC series for a few episodes but the DiC series itself was about as close to A list as GIJoe Extreme.
>>10453296>>10453315>>10453329A-listers for Joes is Duke, Scarlett, Snake-eyes, Roadblock, Flint, Lady Jay, Hawk Shipwreak, Beachhead, Gun-ho and Sprint for sure, some get a little dicer such as Dail Tone, Quick Kick. Cobra imo is even easier with Cobra Commander, Destro, Baroness, Storm Shadow, Zartan as the top 5 for sure with Serpentor, Mindbender, and others pulling up from there. I have no clue how Python Patrol Trooer is an A-lister however but I get anon might have just been pouring out hot exclusives or grabbed the list from elsewhere
>>10453172>mattel, they do dumb stuff. Like tomorrow they got an exclusive that will sell out in an hour despite knowing the demand. They cater to a different group of people I guessAmd I'm gonna wade into that shitfest because I'm an idiot. And I think the green tank man and spaceman armors for him look cool.I'm also gonna wait on the Haslab. I've git a big surgery coming up and I'm going to be out of work for a couple months do I really should curtail my toy spending. Also, I just saw it's even bigger than the HISS is gonna be. I really don't know where I'd put it.

>>10453740I primarily collect Transformers and Titan Class figures are enough of a hastle and they're two feet VERTICAL. I don't even begin to space out what I'll do with something that's two and a half horizontal.
>>10453291It will probably be Rip-It and not the regular driver. And odds are it will be with a stripped down blue Hiss III - no electronics probably none of the Haslab bonuses.
>>10453120A shame there's no way to contribute or be able to get the new Dragonfly here in Australia. I like attack choppers and this is right up my alley.

Damn I love that Rip-Cord but I don't 275 dollars love him. Don't really have room/care about the Dragonfly but if the other stretch goals are good figures I might throw a pre order down
>>10453740Eh it's not *that* big, it being horizontal and coming with a stand helps too.Galactus was hard to find a spot for because of how tall he was.

>>10453509>"No but you see I was able to buy a robot for 100+ when I was living with my parents so that means you're a ESL and live in the third world!!"
>>10453291>>10453814They have stated both the male and female driver could see single carded releases with a slight redeco making the old toy more. Most think since they used the wording of "carded" and mentioned the toy deco that it'll be part of Walmart's retro style 6inh line. Which wouldn't be a shock, CC and the Trooper offered with the Skystriker showed up as mainline releases. I do think Rip-It has a good chance as single release too and over all if any of these happen it will be at least a year after the Hiss have been shipped out.
>>10453740Easily fits in a standard, 36" bookshelf, and it's nothing to hang it from the ceiling, either.
>>10453845With the media of GIJoe it gets very fucking messy where Mutt had more time in the show than Wild Bill, now mind you performances can stick with people or the flip be completely forgotten because there wasn't much to the character (*cough* Lifeline, Grid-Iron) and then you have ones like Metalhead where it's Garry Chalk doing his best impression of Bobcat Goldthwait and that either sticks with you or becomes forgettable which further makes fan response messy. For fun check out:http://www.halfbattle.com/screentime.htmlIt's the screen time cataloging of all the Joes in all the series and movie. Duke to no surprise is the top Joe for Screen time but then it's Flint, Lady Jay, Scarlett and then Shipwreak and if you look at how it's separated that's just Sunbow Season 1 and 2 getting them that dominance of screen time and those would be the cartoon episodes most fans were exposed too. Metal Head hit's high as well but he was in every DiC episode along with CC and as much as it makes those fans reee the DiC series was never as liked or well received as Sunbows offerings.
>>10453311>I was worried I'd have to back this thing, and right now my toy budget is stretched super thinI'm the opposite right now, I just got a new higher-paying job that can afford me just a shit load of stuff like this. I will only be getting one myself but that only because I will also be buying a new car along with it.
>>10454288I don't ree about DiC being not as well liked because I know it's complete trash but I just want a new Metalhead because the dude was EVERYWHERE in the 90s Joe stuff and I still love the idiot.
>>10454470I love Metalhead! Anybody crazy enough to strap a missile system to their body is okay in my book. Plus the vintage figure looks like Julian from Trailer Park Boys
I can only imagine how badly the rotors are going to droop on a scaled up Dragonfly.

>>104544774477Lol, yeah I can see it. Wish monkey wrench was a trailer park boy.
And there we go
>>10449174>madeMore like stolen.
HISS Tank posted some in-hand images of the Arctic B.A.T. Looks fucking good.
>>10454668Let's see how they play the stretch goals.
>>10454792It's funded as of now, so the fence sitters will start rolling in the closer we get to the goals. We should hit the first in about a day based on current gains, I hope they have them in the gun ready to show off.
>>10454819I'm sure they do since they're either made of parts they already have or planned to use in the mainline at some point anyway.
>>10454838I think the few of us who also had a vested interest in other haslabs can be a little un-easy with hasbro when they make dumb fucking choices. Like making an entire haslab around a character's anniversary and not including any stretch goals related to said character. Or making a haslab around an iconic monster and not including the handler people wanted with said monster.
>>10454495this was my concern too.
>>10454876I dunno, the G.I. Joe team seems to be way better at catering to what fans want. Like of all their major "plastic free" lines, Classified's went above and beyond in making the box itself feel special. I don't see them having the same issues as the Star Wars or Marvel teams with their stretch goals. Especially not after all the great stuff the last two Joe projects came with.
>>10454876Well yea but that's because those teams are ran by retards. The only figure they couldn't show off right away for the HISS was Cobra Commander but it wasn't even that long before we got a render reveal. The Joe team seems to actually learn from their mistakes so I don't think we'll have the same issue this time.
>>10454969Joe team is desperate to not kill GI Joe for seven years again, especially after the movie
>>10454792>>10454819Fence sitter here despite backing hiss very early in and I'm hoping the stretch goals are too good to pass. A life line would be a sure hit, a gunners station, winch a gurney but who would man the guns to provide only cover fire since lifeline is a pacifist? Hmm, sounds like a job for psyche out! Nows the chance hasbro, give this wretch of a man his toy dream of classified psyche out.
>>10454765That head is nice, while I know it isn't, I will pretend that it has a suicide bomb vest on. Four bats are enough for now, let's go some more vipers.
>>10454991As far as I'm concerned, Classified is Hasbro's best line. It's a shame the Joe franchise gets almost no support outside of having really good toys. >>10455034Frag Viper was always my number two Viper figure after Alley Viper (the yellow version). The crazy claw launcher thing and funky metal mosquito mask made him look like such a badass. I would love to see Classified versions of all of these guys. Even if there was heavy part reuse, the gear sets they'd come with would be insane.
>>10455227>It's a shame the Joe franchise gets almost no support outside of having really good toysOutside of the line becoming online only in the UK it seems like that's enough to keep this going
>>10454969>>10454991Lenny (aka WeatherDominator on IG) is a big Joe fan who previously worked at the Joe Club. He was somewhat divisive during the Joe Club days during the Modern Era run, but he's trying to make the most of his new spot. He went with the modern, updated push to match the game, that bombed, and he pivoted to Classic. He doesn't want this line to die regardless of whether you like him or not because if it goes then we may not get it back again any time soon. So he tries harder then most to keep it going. I don't always like him because of those Club days, but I respect his effort to save the line from going under.
https://www.gamestop.com/collectibles/figures/products/hasbro-g.i-joe-classified-series-cobra-arctic-b.a.t.--6-in-action-figure/391780.htmlDunno when it went live, so if I'm late mentioning it, eh, but Arctic B.A.T. is up on Gamestop for preorder. I'm not interested in getting any of the snow-themed guys, so I'll probably skip and hope they release it under a different color scheme later.
>>10455430Do not preorder from Gamestop. They'll claim they cant find stock and just cancel it.
>>10455460Honestly that's like half of all preorder places anymore.I've never had a problem with 'em, but then I only order a piece or two a year from them that's not instock already, so yeah. They'll show up elsewhere eventually.
>finally watch the stream>they mention Ice Cream Soldier>immediately shoot him downBRING HIM BACK
>>10441602Mr. T is basically finished now. Only thing left is the mini-14 for his primary which I'm currently waiting for in the mail. I had to get pic of him though so for now he's borrowing Sgt. Slaughter's AK-47. The compression shirt worked out excellent and I absolutely love how his chains look now that they've been trimmed, fitted and painted. I'm super pumped to have a Mr. T that fits with my Classified Joes.
>>10455702Damn man, looks great!
>>10455227Frag viper always stood out me with that weird grenade jai alai glove. Like, I really wish I could read whatever design notes they had for it.
>>10454971>The Joe team seems to actually learn from their mistakesAnd yet the line is still 1/12 and not 1/18.
>>10455902Oh, poor scalefag, I feel so bad for you.
>>10454838>>10454876>>10454969A big issue you'll notice is the lines Hasbro out right owns they have more control over. All the failed Haslabs but one(Heroscape) are third parties that Hasbro pays the rights to use, meaning everything has to be green lighted by forces outside the company. What Oola as a stretch goal? To bad! Disney doesn't want that kind of shit existing so you can't do it. Want to do a spirit of Vengeance bike trio with Danny Ketch Ghost Rider, Vengeance and Johnny Blaze? Nah, Marvel isn't interested unless Robbie Reyes gets a shot first. With GIJoe and Transfomers they can just look over the horizon and go "what do these buyers want?" and then make it. They can make a 6inch scale Hisstank that has three operators and a special Cobra Commander because there is no licensor going "oh, that's really not what we want to push right now, we want it to just be ninjas" They can make a highly detail Deathsaurus without someone stopping going "Our new movie is about Beast Wars, not some Japaneses only series, go do something else" That's not to say Hasbro can't cause it's own misfortune but with things like Backer projects it's maximum profits for the licenses they own so they are more flexible with what is done.
>>10455902it'll be awhile anon if we ever see 1/18 again for how saturated the market was for the past 15 years or so for the new retro and 40+ years for the OG 1/18. With no new movies games or shows keeping interest with buyers there market is by majority 40 somethings that own a lot of 1/18 already and midwitt scalpers
>>10455931>unless Robbie Reyes gets a shot first. The part about that is they could have picked better stretch goals for Robbie alone, not even Ghostrider as a brand. His crippled brother, Blade, Brother VooDoo, toss in a repaint of the Hyde BAF, anything better than three characters who have a deeper connection to Johnny or Danny. Mephisto just had an ongoing plotline involving Johnny and Strange, not Robbie. But as they say, being a Ghostrider fan is suffering, I do hope we get a Robbie figure at least to match the Ramen Racer.Even if I am running out of room on the shelves, I'm going to get the dragonfly. I may pack up Galactus and the Sentinel to make room for the HISS tank, the Charger, and the choppa.
>>10456004>the ChargerThe Ramen Racer one?
>>10456062>The Ramen Racer one?Yeah.
>>10455931>Want to do a spirit of Vengeance bike trio with Danny Ketch Ghost Rider, Vengeance and Johnny Blaze? Nah, Marvel isn't interested unless Robbie Reyes gets a shot first.Honestly if the set was Johnny, Danny and Robbie with their respective vehicles I would have backed.
>>10455931Yeah that's something I don't see brought up enough, like, how can you see that one lightsaber Haslab as anything other than a licenser request?
