Anon from last thread who was asking which version of Susanowo to get. I went with the blue AUV Susanowo Soen version, and she just showed up today. I was wondering why she was selling for so much cheaper on Amazon than any of the usual places - turns out her box has been pretty badly smashed. I've already checked the contents, though, and it looks like everything is there, the actual plastic parts are undamaged, and it's all still perfectly sealed, from what I can tell - from the shape of the hole in the box, it looks like someone put a heavier box on top of her, and the corner came through the lid.Anyway, just taking a look over her parts, and she looks like she's going to be a fun build - those clear flame bits look great, and her face plates are adorable in-hand. Might not get around to actually building her until next week, though.

Did not particularly like this build. There were a lot of pieces did not snap well together and quite a few plastics had some discoloration. I was going to coat and fix some seams, but I really don't feel like working on this anymore.As for the missing flight pack/wings, I had always imagine doing some kind of Kentregina pose, but the legs don't have much articulation

Anyone here have any of the Symphogear Act Modes? How is their quality? I've only recently gotten into the series & I've got an itch to get something from it but have heard mixed things.

Looking at figma is a great way to determine this I find, there are lots of girls with heavy armor that has layered joints that still look great in almost any pose you get them in. None are as bad, but the paint is rough, and the joints are lacking. Don't expect anything as great as Hibiki's figma, wich is an excellent figure, but they aren't bad for what they are. My Chris has crooked gun barrels that drive me fucking nuts...Mapel is the best Act Mode. Strong recommendations here, she is super fun.

Her smaller guns are loose on the grip as well. She only comes with holding hands and relaxed hands. No fists, sadly.Tsubasa might be the best because she's highly poseable, tho a bit finicky cuz of her proportions. Personally my favorite, but her face looks a bit weird and not long enough. The first version handles her face better. Same story with the hands from Chris.Not sure about Maria, but I'm hear she is an overall improvement from the trio

Look out for wildly varying tolerances, stress marks, tons of flash and mold flaws, inconsistently textured plastic and strange assembly decisions. Angela's face is better than Swallow's, but her wings are an absolute crumbley mess.

In general try to keep the paint away from pegs, holes, sockets, etc. Also if you're panel-lining be careful not to let wet paint pool up or collect in crevasses or other areas.

So, general question here. I notice that most Megami Devices have alternate belly plates - one flesh toned, and one that usually matches the rest of their 'body suit' to make it a complete leotard. Most pictures tend to display them with the flesh toned plate in armored-up mode, and the clothed one when they're out of their gear. My question here is: just how easy is it to interchange the plates - or are you intended to just pick one and stick with it once she's assembled? I can't help but think constantly taking apart and reassembling your Megami Device's torso and hips to trade out plates is very gentle on the individual pegs that hold her together...

i wanted a susanowo body but i didnt want the full kit so i bought the bootleg body kit and some resin faceplates and hair. the quality of the body kit is quite nice. no flashing or terrible seams and the joints hold up well. only problem like many other bootleg kits are the overly tight peg holes that you'll have to make bigger. the plastic is also super hard so your fingers will hurt. this kit wouldve been much nicer if it came with hands and faceplates and hair, but it is what it is.

Have to make new versions or heavily resculpt some of her parts since they have such tremendous mold flaws. The rings that go around her lower thigh are particularly bad since they where misaligned by over 2mm. Lots of bubbles and messed up edges, the only parts that are more or less fine are the skin tone parts.

I find it easier to do the initial sketch in watercolours and then use a fine tip cotton bud to clean up the lines.The layers are sealed with MSC Smooth Clear Matt. MSC UV cut flat is fine too, just don't use gloss coat.
The completed look with some muscuto hair parts. I'm pretty happy that I didn't completely messed up the eye positioning this round, my last few attempts have been quite wonky.Good luck with your project anon!
