Ultimate toon April will be released this year. We just don't know specifically when. They did have a packaged sample, so probably in the next few months.

NECA also is doing a movie "what if" yellow jumpsuit April. This is just a mock-up, using the Ellen Ripley body, but will have a different sculpt on the actual figure. She includes an arcade cabinet (NECA should just sell those separately, they'd make a fortune!).

What's most curious is they have the Playmates' Pizza Face on the side. I guess they're none too bothered with Playmates' tantrums as of late.

Kevin Eastman's been sharing a lot of stuff on his instagram lately, including more artwork for upcoming NECA packages. Here we have Mirage Savanti Romero coming at some point.

And if you'll peek at the left corner of the OP image, there's our boxed Mirage TMNT 4-pack.

Toon Casey and bashed Foot have been showing up on Aliexpress. The bottom of the package shows a 2023 copyright as well as that "ripped" corner with the TMNT logo from Nickelodeon that we saw on the new figures from Haulathon recently. So NECA is definitely getting more toon Casey back out. Just no clue if it's through a special event or normal re-release through Target.

But for anyone still wanting this pack, it's coming. Or it's here. If you want to just get it off Aliexpress. Whichever.

Superfans want NEW they want exciting
Pretty soon there won’t be any space on the shelves for classic turtles lines in favor of the powerhouse of Playmates with Mutant Mayhem. It is new, it is exciting and never been seen before, a fresh take on TMNT with playable toys unlike the neco toon line. the realization is sinking in, isn’t it?

I’m a fan of spastic looking designs similar to ren and stimpy, but this overall for the tmnt looks like SHIIIT, especially the actual plastic translation of them that are laughably grotesque
>>
>>10409333
yeah I can see that, if you like that kind of aesthetic, bebop and rocksteady would be up your alley. Me, total opposite. though I do feel similarly to you in the "everyone but the turtles looks good" sense if we're talking about the second baymovie. gotta admit, B+R and krang looked pretty rad. someone worked really hard to try to polish the turd, but they were still saddled with continuity so the turtles had to stay the same.

Got BST AXN April today, never had one of these figures before and I didn't know she'd be so small.
>>
>>10410463
yeah i'm not sure what best axn is aiming at honestly
>>
>>10410463
She’s as tall as the first neca april with a proportional head
>>
>>10410463
Yeah they're not huge. Though the weirdest thing about this line is that the figures within the line itself aren't really to scale with each other. Everyone's 5 inches regardless of whether or not the character should be shorter or taller than the rest of the cast. This leads to some weird ones like LOTR where Gandalf and Sauron are the same height, even though Sauron is famously like 9 feet tall.
>>
>>10410484
if anything you'd expect playmates to be attacking THESE schmucks since they're the ones actually competing with playmates, in terms of price point and scale irrelevance

Finally got Donatello in this week, and god damn having all 4 boys really makes a display. This line is an absolute homerun smash hit, and I hope they keep running it for a few more figures. Shredder especially, and maybe a unique take on Bebop and Rocksteady would seal the deal.

>>10410447
The sad thing is I'm pretty sure he isn't a Neca employee, because he accomplishes the opposite of what he should be doing. These threads were a lot more active last year, but he's been so aggressive lately that they're basically dead any day that there isn't a new reveal or Playmates blunder to meme on. He's just an asshole with a janny friend he sics on posts that aren't total praise for Neca. It's fucking obnoxious.
>>
>>10410485
There was an instagram post a few days back where it looked like Playmates may be preparing for their own line of reimagined classic figures, hence why they sandbagged Super7. The appeal of the new movie and Classics line is still different enough from... Whatever AXN is doing keeps them from being too bothered I imagine.
>>
>>10410825
>Whoa dudes check out my nunchankhs!
yeah they are pretty neato. Not really m thing, but supremely well-mae. The kneepads crew.
>B+R
this is a movieverse crossover, right? so we'd get tokka and rahzar.. I'd be way down for that. Tokka from the black lagoon, and uh... well I mean rahzar wolf man is kind of on the nose, plus wolfman always looked pretty lame. Maybe if they skewed it more toward the 2010 Del Toro version? That's still Universal.
>>
>>10410837
Really? Was that confirmed? If that's true then Playmates is really banking on this new movie to bring in major attention to their toy lines.
>>
>>10410825
if people would just stop replying to trolling, it would all be a lot nicer. i mean it's one thing to be an obsessive troll, it's another to reply to his every single post, the same way, every time, 3 minutes later like clockwork. almost like he's replying to himself
>>
>>10410840
Well it's movie-esque, but I want to believe it's unique enough that they would do a movie style BopSteady duo.
>>
>>10410841
wouldn't it be great if we woke up tomorrow and playmates was just gone?
>>
>>10410840

The little ball hinge and the point it rests in is damaged, which caused the jaw to move and flake paint along the inside of the mouth but it wore down the nub causing the jaw not to rest properly, with slack jawed Dreadmon being the end result. It’s not the first of randy’s gifts I had to fix up and it won’t be the last, I’m sure.
>>
>>10410989
aw man. hopefully that's easy enough to fix with a little black paint and, as joint-fixing goes, a little ball-nub seems like the easiest thing to do..
>>
>>10410959
The black paint is almost completely stripped off the back of the jaw but wouldn’t be visible on display so I didn’t care enough to take a picture. Dreadmon’s actually kind of cutie resembling the troll face a bit, but the turtle hoard must be pristine.
>>
>>10411017

Same, they're very funny looking but in the traditional cartoon way. They kinda even have like a 2000s cartoon look to them, if only they had thick outlines or something. This is not a necababy prediction, it’s a SPOILER. randy and the others will be scattered, forced to sell their wares at smaller specialty shops, online retailers, or direct to consumer. Thank you based Playmates, from very grateful euroanon.

i bet this one's gonna sell like hotcakes. People who were not really convinced the turtles would have their own gundams with their likenesses (or just don't like the belt emblems) would TOTALLY buy shredder having a mech, to fight the normal turtles in. How tall are these again?

9 inches. About the same size as Master Grade gunpla. Since they're releasing one by one I think I might pick these up.

i didn't say what's gonna happen, i said what my stake in it is.
that is sad though, and i'm sick of them getting messed with, but I'm sure at least 38% of that shit is their own fault.
>>
>>10421148
Subpar7's fate was decided the moment that the first wave reissue was announced. The only way they were going to avoid the ire of Playmates was staying under the radar and not getting big sales with the line, but as soon as retailers started demanding a reissue there was no way people weren't going to take notice. TMNT wasn't some dead franchise like Thundercats, it was still very much active and ripping off another companies designs wasn't going to last forever if they sold well. But as it often goes with these things, Brian Flynn saw those paychques coming in and got greedy. Cut corners and raised prices until Playmates wasn't going to put up with their shit anymore, so now he's burned the goodwill of their customers since they can't deliver something decent, and they can't design their own toys for shit.
>>

>>
>>10425227
might give it a shot.. but I also feel like too often the ribbons are too shiny. I suppose you could scuff them up with a brush or something? sort of felt up the 'nap' or whatever? I suppose the idea there is they won't get stuck in permanent knots because silky shit can always be unpicked, but it's definitely not how I imagine Splinter's belt. and in the case of donatello's bo, it just looks like shit and they should have made it a flexible but firm plastic loop that holds the bo via friction
>>
>>10425555
For the bo strings you could probably scuff it a bit with some modelling sandpaper? I haven't thought about it much since I've always had his shell in the back.
>>
>>10425580
I might try that on my movie II don, I just kinda ran out of fucks to give, pulled his bo out, the strings didn't spontaneously untie, i don't care that I probably won't be able to get it back in, and just left it in his hands. I really don't play with my figures enough.
my movie 1 Don I just replaced the strings with snipped twist-tie segments. the nice rubber-coated black ones, so it looks good.

It's so weird how I can never remember for sure whether I had the original 4 turtles. I'm pretty sure I didn't, yet I was SO familiar with them. Their specific images were everywhere on packaging and shit, so it feels like I had them. and I do remember seeing them in stores, and being a dumb kid like "nah I want the ones with pupils, like the cartoon!" and getting mostly Wacky Action ones instead. I think I only had original Leo, I distinctly remember the floppy thin plastic swords.
It's also funny how consistent they were initially, wacky action raph had the same pushdagger storage on the back of his belt. I think. At least some other raph did. Maybe it was head-dropping raph, I definitely had that one. Come to think of it, I must have changed to raph-as-favorite pretty early on.. those memories are really spotty.

they’re on the same level as the neco toon line, where you must learn to thin your paints and fix mistakes or sculpted areas that went unpainted. they are literally on equal footing. it isn’t as involved as having to drill out joints to fix them like randy’s gifts so minor paint applications are entry level customizer stuff you can do it anon

playmates knows how to cheap out
but I guess we should be glad, because TMNT could not have supported a more expensive toyline, not initially anyway, and the toyline really helped launch the franchise. sad isnt it? but a lot of them are coming around. they're realizing that there's no point in going along with the crowd out of fear, because the mob will just save you for last. Most of these guys don't really believe in it, or anything.
>>10433496
agreed, tons of faults. The fact that I like the Ultimates is the reason those faults bug me so much. For one thing, all of them were 100% preventable, and none of them saved the company any money. far from it.

If you're that same guy, can I ask why it was shilling to acknowledge that we know why the waves are late? Playmates interference. It's not a judgment call, it's a deduction.

I'm... very torn. I think my budget is not going to cover this
>the faces are ugly
>I have no desire to get any other characters from that movie (except april)
>They'll probably be really expensive because of all the armor and shit
I do have nostalgia for that movie, I remember seeing it as a kid and loving it, but... I started justifying these purchases saying that I was getting a piece of Creature Shop history.
>>10433643
this guy though, he's growing on me. he had funny lines. I think this is happening.

yeah same guy. i took the "pretty sure we're aware" as a passive aggressive "stop talking about it", basically in defense of S7. i took it as like, "don't criticize them". hence shill.

i think even with the situation with playmates, they should not be shielded from criticism. plus, the announced waves should already be OK'd by viacom, so not really much playmates should be responsible for there in slowing those down to a *year*.

anyway, have a good one dude. if you were the one i called a shill, no bad blood.
>>
>>10433743
you think the faces and hands will clash that badly?
>>10433745
in fairness I can be a little pass-agg once in a while, but in this case I was really just saying we get it already, let's stop harping on it, it's unpleasant and none of us can do anything about it.
You can certainly criticize them because they're under a sort of contract with us, but most of the criticism needs to go toward viacom and playmates in my opinion. then again maybe it is all super7's fault, it would not shock me. they're not fast. I doubt Viacom has literally pulled THIS wave, I think it's more like everyone in the company had to scramble to slam on the brakes after getting a 'cut it out' notice, and that slowed their work down. and probably a lot of people (wisely?) fled the sinking ship

This confirms my suspicion that you're too stupid to realize I posted the picture right under the post when it didn't attach the first time. Try paying attention, fuck's sake.

same.

i'm equally worried about tmnt collectors in their 30s and 40s who buy literally anything.

guys, can we please boycott these?

I don't like the playmates Shredder much, but love the Turtles.

Bst Axn has a good Shredder, April, Casey and actually did the Krang robot.

Can I mix and match ok?

Also how are Bst Axn Rocksteady and Bebop compared to Playmates reissues?
>>
>>10434376
This took way longer to find than it should have
https://youtu.be/rC7fN_IJeVo?t=533
sorry anon, looks like they're taller and skinnier than playmates, would not really scale.

wait, sorry, you were asking if shredder scales with the playmates turtles? actually, probably? because all best axns are the same height, which means imagine that best axn mikey there is shredder. It's just yknow, he's still going to be in a much less stumpy proportion style, so
>>
>>10434396
Sorry, wasn't clear. Wanted to use BST AXN Shredder, Casey, April and Krang with Playmates Turtles. Not sure if I should go playmates or BST AXN for Rocksteady and Bebop.

>YFW the crossover is pretty much inevitable.
Maybe we'll even get one with IDW and another with the 1987-inspired comic and the 1993 show?
>>
>>10434523
no no it was clear, i just gooned up
but that video should still give you an idea of the size and shape of best axns.
if you do this, you won't be able to have any non-turtle playmates guys mixed in, because only the turtles can get away with being so short.
