Do you guys like happy meal toys? I have a lot, they're the only things I collect
>>
I guess not

Get fucked, Retrospammer.

Do they even make any good Happy Meal toys now?

these and the he-man ones were the only good ones in my opinion, havent been to a fast food chain in over half a decade so i have no idea if things have improved.

pic related i had all of the he-man line but still favored the meal ver since it felt super durrible abd the sword actualy stayed on his back a lot better

They're pretty great, a lot of fast food toys were. Nowadays they all stopped trying, like the carls jr kids toys are just paper now.

For me its sitting ducks.
>>
>>10407117
Used to, until I didn't. Last I bought was I think a Transformer because I wanted a cheap office desk decor.
>>
I was more of a kinder surprise kind of guy.

Lots of times they only had like the two worst toys to choose from in the happy meal where I live.

for a while in the mid 2000s, Burger King Kids Meal toys were doing a thing where they'd do bobblehead/caricature proportioned toys. I know some people find this offputting compared to Japanese SD style, but I found these charming.

I got a lot out of the fast food Mario toy lines in the early 2000s. Back then that was your only real option for Mario toys

>See commercial for GotG Happy Meal toys
>they don't eve show the toys in the commercial

They're the same as every other MCU figure they've put out, but it's weird that they make you have to google them just to see what they look like.

No. I haven't eaten at McDonald's in over a decade. Don't even remember when or what my last happy meal toy was.

The fast food toy I remember best is actually these from Burger King way back in 2000.

I am legit suprised there is not a comprehensive McWiki of every single McDonald's toy promotion broken down by month and year.

Outside of the plushies, there weren't really toys of any other characters back then, either. The only Sonic I had, besides the McDonald's toy, was this shitty thing that came with candy inside.
>>
>>10411400
True. I had a Sonic plushy I think.
>>
>>10409579
Yeah, these Dark Knight toys were the last actual toys I saw in a cereal. I got a Batman and Joker, they were fun
>>
>>10409450
Thanks for letting me know about this.
I actually really want to get the full set.
>>
>>10411367
this set was really disappointing compared to the original pokemon burger king set and the next one with the mini gameboys

That and the Robotnik were my favorites. I'd have killed for the Sonic toys we get today.
>>
>>10407117
I still have the joker and catwoman from this set
>>
>>10411489
I liked the big Star Wars saga push they did with a ton of figurines and ships. From the only six SW movies that is.

Man, these felt like "real toys" to me as a kid. They were really fun to play with, and the zord vehicles were pretty passible at the time.
>>
>>10417046
I never went to Taco Bell once as a kid, but somehow I had that big, polygonal Mario maze.
>>
>>10416099
>I'd have killed for the Sonic toys we get today.
I don't follow super closely, but I haven't been really impressed with any of the stuff I've seen over the past several years. I think it's one of those scenarios where, because I waited so long for "good" Sonic toys to even be a thing, my standards are now insurmountably high.

Plus, I had the resaurus figures from the early 2000s, and it felt like those were better than most of the stuff we got in the past 10 years.
>>
>>10419446
Closest thing is this:

https://kidsmeal.fandom.com/wiki/McDonald%27s_Happy_Meal_(USA)/List_of_toys

Literally just a list, and it's missing quite a lot. Only a handful of them even have entries or pictures.
>>
>>10421789
the only bad thing about them is that they weren't in the dino zords

I liked the X-Men TAS toys from Hardee's that would come together and make a little diorama. I used to take Wolverine and Cyclops with me everywhere in my pockets
>>
>>10424613
The height of the x-men popularity. There was so much merchandise everywhere.
>>
>>10421892
And they have errors. For example, they wrote "Michael Jackson Fitness Fun toys" instead of "Michael Jordan."
>>
>>10424838
That's awesome
>>
>>10421878
Their toys always seemed extra low effort. SUBWAY too.
>>
>>10426714
taco bell had great toys. Low effort toys were more like the ones from wendys/subway/dairy queen
>>
>>10407117
No, they use to give you literal action figures. Now it's mostly a play gimmick and zero to some paint.
>>
>>10411367
BK Pokémon was definitely the peak of happy meal toys. These things are so fucking awesome. Every single series of them is memorable and loved by so many people.
>>
>>10427304
the first set of bk pokemon toys is the peak of fast food toys. I also enjoyed the mini gameboys that bk did for pokemon gold and silver
>>
>>10417672
Heck yeah, that was fun to collect

My mom was a bored housewife so she took any chance to get out of the house and go Happy Meal toy hunting with me (This was during the time when you could outright buy the toy without Happy Meal). Over time, we filled up a 3x1 box full of toys (many still in their plastic bags and the paper happy meal bag too!) Thanks for the nostalgia trip!
>>

I remember my local card/comic shop had a complete one of these on the shelf behind the counter for 25 bucks back around 2000 when I used to go in for Pokemon cards. I'm surprised they're going for roughly the same on ebay these days, woulc have expected some nostalgia inflation.
>>
>>10426714
I remember taco bell had digimon "toys" that were just metal cards. Think I got my first boner looking through them and spending too much time staring at the lilymon card not gonna lie
>>10427295
the mario set wendys had in like 2002 or 2003 was pretty solid if I recall. and I know dairy queen had some digimon plushes that I loved as a kid but obviously I was pretty desperate for any digimon merch I could get my poorfag hands on.

I fucking loved these, as well as the Justice League Looney Tunes with the snap-on costumes.
>>
>>10427295
Dude Wendy's had great toys when I was growing up.

I think I remember getting some dinosaurs from them in one meal...
>>
>>10407117
I love these posts because I see things then remember I had them. I remember that Batman, you could take his cape off. I remember that cat so I must of had Catwoman as well. Definitely remember Poison Ivy the mouth closing and opening.

>>10434797
Definitely had Bugs Bunny and being able to elongate his car. Tazz pushing the orange things front and back and he would spin inside the car. Porky with the crash and the ghost popping out.
>>
>>10407117
I have like one or two
>>
>>10434797
I think a couple of these and the Looney Tunes with the DC clip on costumes were what I had the most of as a kid. Loved them.

/It's probably because no one gives a fuck about the inspector gadget movie that's based off of
