God I want a Stinger or two to go beside the HISS when it comes out...

Maybe there's a 3p or a 3d printed version out there somewhere.
>>
>>10406083
There's free files to print your own stinger/vamp out there that are pretty good. I made a vamp but my printer shit the bed before I could make a stinger.

I customized the cape I got for Cobra Commander today. It fits really good now and it looks even better than I expected it to. Should I take some more gold cordage and wrap it diagonally over his shoulder and chest like he has in some art? I might add some to my Classified CC too although I'm undecided. I really like how this stuff catches the light.
>>
As annoying as the constant reveals and preorders with no product were, I'm starting to actually miss it. Feels like its been a long time since they showed us something new.
>>
>>10407091
I'd rather have nothing for awhile. Hasbro is way too preorder happy and the last one with an exclusive army builder was bullshit
>>
>>10407142
Same here, between the ocean of motu pre orders and classified I'm kinda getting stretched too thin. I can't enjoy a huge box of toys at once as much as I can a few a month. Plus the boom or bust cycle is kinda annoying. I'm just glad classified has shelf presence again now that the movie toys are gone.
>>
>>10406525
That looks really nice, the gold buttons are a nice touch and it looks way more natural then having it clipped to his neck.

>>10407091
Don't worry, I'm sure that Classified Haslab they're teasing is gonna get revealed and piss off everyone in no time.

My main incentive for getting rid of the U-clip is that his helmet didn't fit properly with the cape on before. The cape looking a lot nicer after modding it was a great bonus.
>>
>>10407905
The main reason the hiss killed everything last year was because it was the only one that seemed like a fair value for what you were getting. I'm positive the other brands are going to force the joe team to raise their price this year to be just as unreasonable so as not to make them look bad. Look forward to you $600 VAMP.
>>
>>10408558
The GR car failed and the almost half the cost Ramen Racer got all the audience needed with little fanfare so far. Imagine if that crazy guy started with a new Jeep/SUV given his desire for modular kits to expand options. A VAMP/Stinger would just be the beginning. Probably a VAMP Mk2 kit as well
>>
>>10408558
>>10408564
HISS also probably did well because it is more or less the face of GI Joe vehicles, its also a generic army builder vehicle, and the stretch goals were all worthwhile. So for $300 you got the HISS, four figures, and a bunch of shit to outfit/bulk the tank itself up.

Many of the other Haslabs, the stretch goals were garbage, there was no real reason to double dip other than if you were planning on reselling, and it is just a classic part of the universe. Many of the other Haslabs were too overpriced, had shit stretch goals (SW Rancor), or were based on Nu-shit (Reva's lightsaber) or were just laughably cheap (GW car).
>>
I love B.A.Ts, why did I sleep on them for so long
>>
>>10409089
If it wasn't actually worth the rather high cost I'd have never backed it. But yeah, 4 new figures and a light up hiss that can carry a few vipers if you want. You would hope hasbro was realized this and will adjust accordingly. Look at what mattel was offering up recently, a light up ring and 4 figure stretch goal for what? $500? I just don't understand the thinking of these, get hype for some expensive ass toy that maybe you get "extras" for? Anyway, glad to see the haslabs slow down after taking so many eggs to the face.

>or were just laughably cheap (GW car).

Oh don't forget, they added unrelated stretch goals to hit three different fan groups but ended up pissing off everyone. Ghostrider fans didnt even get a fucking Ghostrider-related shit in the fucking Ghostrider haslab, then they just acted like cunts towards GR fans. Xmen fans and Spiderman fans got slighted too since two of the most wanted villains were packed in and they basically said "You're only getting these two if you back this, oh you don't want to drop 400 bucks for them, well get fucked, your not a real fan and no one really wants it."
>>

Meanwhile someone else offered the car for less, better detailed, and more features. lel. How do you fail over and over, Hasbro?
>>
>>10410102
Only a half the SF characters look like their game design. Ryu and Ken had Ninja Force bodies along with ChunLi and Vega. Zangief had a fur vest, Blanka had pants, and Barlog had webgear and pants. EHonda, Sagat, Dhalsim and maybe MBison are probably the only ones along with Guile that could work since they mostly retained there in game design for their GI Joe figure.

Only Dhalsim and E Honda got new molds, everyone else is a new head on a reused body. And honestly, if we were to get a SF x G.I. JOe crossover, that's exactly how I'd want it. Make Ninja Force Scarlet and all the rest just to repaint them as their Street Fighter releases.

>>10411615
New head and accessories? Yea I'll bite. I wish they did something similar to the Crimson Bat, like give him a more regal looking design on his chestplate and a fancy head or something. Maybe even throw in one of them decorative wooden rifles just to be ironic.

How do you guys feel about the Snow Cat being the next HASLAB?
>>
>>10412551
Mildly
>>
>>10412551
Unless it sees massive improvements to play-ability like the HISS tank got, I'd be disappointed. The Snow Cat is probably one of the most overrated Joe vehicles out there,
>>
>>10412759
Yeah, id have to agree, honestly, a lot of the ones I'd want are huge though like the Mobile Command Center or the F.l.a.g.g. I'll still get a M.o.b.a.t. or Wolverine if its like the HISS Tank.

Now I ultimately liked Cobra stuff more in general. I missed the HISS tank and now will be paying the secondary market price in a year or so.

>>10412759

Probably not as exciting as most choices, but I would love the APC as the next haslab. lots of room to spruce it up like they did the hiss, and since it didn't have a driver they can just throw in any old joes that wouldn't normally get a release as the stretch goal. Might be a good place to dump the original green shirts.

Hasbro has been hinting at the next HASLAB with cryptic messages. This is just one of the rumored ones. But it is going to be a GI Joe vehicle to counter the HISS. Would like to see a Polar Bear as well, as a tier unlock or just a stand alone to use with the upcoming Snow Job and Arctic BATS.
>>
>>10413461
You don't need a HasLab for a Battle Bear
>>
>>10413461
I think it would have to be a MOBAT, the vehicle has to be in the same class as the HISS to counter it.
>>
>>10413462
I've always liked the idea of doing a haslab that's multiple smaller things instead of one giant thing. A snow themed haslab with the battle bear, snow cat, and artic blast would be fun. You'd need to do an Avalanche if you want something the size of a hiss tank though, not a snow cat.
>>
>>10412551
Would love it. One of the actual Joe vehicles I had as a kid. I think I'd prefer the Warthog(with a v3 inspired Sarge) but this would still rock.
>>
>>10412551
I would rather have a VAMP. That was and the MOBAT were the iconic Joe vehicles, and the VAMP just seems like it would be easier to fund. Pack it in with Clutch. MMS and Hawk could be a stretch goal.

For those of you who don't like the Blowback head on Falcon, the head from Black Series Vice Admiral Rampart is another good option that might be more to your liking.

The creator said he only repainted the hair and redid his eyes to make them blue.

Side note, the tigerstripe camo was all done freehand and they said transfer sheets for that kind of work is more trouble than it's worth.
>>
>>10416828
I have the first version. I like the more subdued pallet but I wish his armor bits looked like metal. I think I'm going to try painting his chest piece and do a metal dry brush on his other armor plates.

The PP BAT's is different too?

Honestly, why would they do this? This is like, something you have to go out of your way to fuck up.
>>
>>10418357
To justify raising the prices. They literally had to make new molds to make the heads and neck along withe the barbel joint.
>>
>>10418357
Yes the PP’s head port fits neither. It’s too big for Crimson and to small for the first/OG
>>
>>10418357
>>10418402
The PP head joints are a mess and have at least three different size versions and they are not tied to batches and can be from the same case. One of them fits on the #33 BAT joint (might cause stress on the plastics however) the other two out right don't.

>>10418389
The joint is a completely different plastic to the rest of the toy correct? I have a feeling since it's shrinking my guess is to save on costs. I doubt it was due to breakages as nothing has been reported for #33 and the only know mold change is the head joint.

I did some army building this week and made some customized Greenshirt Joes. I used a couple Dollar General "Duke" figures as the base. Swapped out the forearms with Marauder ones that I painted to match, and I also replaced the ankle holsters on their legs with boot knives. No idea why they had a second pistol holster on the leg when the figure only includes one pistol anyway. Three have new heads and one was left stock.

I'll probably replace the pistols with Marauder ones since they're tiny and don't fit well in the holsters at all. Nothing is holding them in except gravity. I've also discovered that Hasbro really cut corners on the QC because two of them were brand new in the box and had broken leg joints that I had to repair (and that was after soaking them in hot water just in case). Still, if you can get them for $20 or less I think they're pretty neat army builders.

I also realized that the stock head looks just like Ryan Gosling. I've got three spares now so I might try and find some interesting projects for at least one of those.

>>10419056
I also did some more customizing on my Cobra troopers. This is getting addictive because I already want more. I've got an officer, a sniper, two assault troopers, and a flamer unit, although I'd like to add a heavy machine gunner and have one of them be an anti-armor. With that many troops though, I could practically make a second kill team, which would be a good excuse to add some female troopers. And this is why someone will find me buried under a pile of action figures.
>>
>>10419065
My favorite so far is the flamer. I used a scuba mask head with a little clipped off piece of a scrap action figure joint for a barrel filter to turn it into a gas mask. I did a gradient effect on the visor although it doesn't show up so good in my photos.
>>
>>10418389
ACTUALLY, it's because different sculptors make different toys, and the joint depends on what that sculptor is using.
There's no standards on the size of the holes/joints.

Also, it also depends on what figures are in the wave too. They have to share the parts wherever possible.
>>
>>10418337
Going from a small peg to a big head cavity is a lot less annoying than the other way around. All you need is a little hot glue, whereas if the peg is too big, you have basically no choice other than permanently modifying the peg.

>>10419056

You idiot. Black on white crime and black on Latino crime is disproportionately enormous. Aside from Asians, whites are the least likely to commit murder. The real issue is the Talmud and the rat folk that revere it.

Destro looks great, real shame about the rest. S7 really needs to stop fucking switching factories for each wave to try to push them out faster because it’s obvious at this point it’s the source of most of their issues. It’s happened with thundercats, tmnt, silverhawks, and now gi joe, they almost consistently have waves that are above average then immediately slide back to shit. I’m pretty bummed because sunbow accurate joes are what I want and I know hasbro will never truly commit to it, but I’m not going to support this line if this is what we are going to be getting. I’m in for Destro and cancelling the rest, unfortunately these are two of the main joes from the cartoon so cancelling them means I am probably just going to skip every other Joe here out, what’s the point of a shipwreck or roadblock if I won’t have a Lady Jaye to go next to them? If the next wave is still fucked up I’ll cancel every Cobra too, maybe just get the black suit baroness to go with CC and Destro call it a day.

Are there any GI Joe figs that scale with Transformers?

I wager it has something to do with one of them being a store exclusive, I know that sounds weird but this has happen before such as the Marvel Legend Walmart comic Thanos having a completely different hand and neck joint even though the whole mold was using the same head and hands as the baf from 2 years back. Normally no one cares and even fewer notice because they are not in swapping/modular situations like the bats here are.

Weird paint apps aside I don't really see the appeal here. The bare plastic look does not look good at this scale. If you're paying $55 for these and the goal is accuracy to the cartoon designs, I don't see why they can't have head-to-toe paint apps. The way the light hits the bare plastic just makes all the details look very soft and cheap.

He's VERY VERY loosely tied to GI Joe canon via his pack-in OVA tape. Lady Jaye and Duke interact with Savage as a sort of "he's a GI Joe spin-off" sort of way in the video and Savage's arch enemy, in the same video, makes an off-hand remark about being the guy who gave Cobra Commander the money to start Cobra as far as tying him to Cobra loosely.

So I bought the fucking Viper 3 pack that had been sitting around at my local Gamestop for ages with my tax return money and low and behind, it's one of the defected sets with the white Viper having black viper forearms.

I called Hasbro's customer service line and while they said I can mail it in for a new set, I have to mail my existing set back to them and wait weeks as they can't even fucking send me a refund via paypal.

If I just fucking send them the box with random shit put in will they fucking open it to check it before they send me a new one? Or will they fucking send me a new one with the old box not inspected?

Or should I take my chances with fucking Gamestop, put in some old wrestling figures and junk in the box and return it that way? Will they demand an inspection of the box or do one after the fact?

I feel fucking pissed off that I got one of the god-damn defected sets.
>>

>>
>>10423893
It's Hasbro's own fault. They've been fucking on quality control for a while and the bullshit blind box packages, with renders instead of actual toy photography leads to shit like this as the only real recourse when you have a company that makes such a huge god-damn mistake on a $90 release of a figure that was already rare as fuck/going for $100+ and who STILL hasn't had a proper mass release.
>>
>>10423905

>>
>>10423905
For what it's worth, Hasbro's admitted fucking up with the closed packages and bringing back regular packaging late this year.

Also, I would not be shocked if we don't get a proper style version of the Viper figure in the retro-line next year. But if the poster can't wait, there is always the Python Patrol Viper, which unlike OG Viper, was produced in massive quantities and can be found for retail price online.
>>
>>10423911
Did someone fuck you over at retail like this or are you just white knighting Hasbro like a dumb retarded who craves abusive corporate dick slapping you in the face?
>>
>>10423781
No. He's a faggot talking about figure swapping which is one of the main problems about the plastic free packaging to begin with. They offered him a reasonable solution that would actually fix his problem, as opposed to his method of thinking he'll be owning Hasbro by sending them back the wrong toys and still being stuck with a Viper that has mismatched skin tones.
>>
>>10423919
I'm just not a fucking child or mentally stunted feeb who doesn't realize that Hasbro won't give two flying shits over you mailing them a box of fodder because you still want to keep your defective toy. >>
>>10423781
Not him, but you hostile figure swapping poorfags are absurd.

Just return the set and buy elsewhere, or do the return. First world problems are no excuse to be a degenerate thief. Worst case, you fuck another collector over, best case, Hasbro calls you on your bluff and you get banned.

Ultra super best-case:
Gamestop employees check the box when you return it and embarrass you IRL in a crowded store.

God that would be so good. Fag'd probably have a melty, too and it'd get posted online like the It's Ma'am video kek
>>
>>10423976
It's not hostile when you take into account that Hasbro did nothing to fix this set issue IE do a full recall and fix shit, to the point of updating/changing the packaging so fans can be assured they are buying a non-fucked set. A set that AGAIN costs nearly a $100 and is a re-issue of a super hard to find figure who was going for $100+.

Hasbro dick lickers can fucking eat shit as they are asking for this sort of thing.
>>
>>10423730
That's kinda cool lore, klaw(?) gave cc the seed money? I think if you tie in the other members of cobras leadership you really could have a good story.
>>
>>10424026
Or maybe we're just calling him retarded for knowing it's a high probability he'd get a shitty set and still throwing a bitch fit when he goes and buys the pack anyway. Sending back Hasbro a package with swapped toys isn't going to make them pick up the phone and tell Chang's factory to flip the switch from Bad QC to Good QC.
>>
>>10424090
and dick sucking Hasbro won't fucking punish them to force them to fix shit as not retaliating against their recent bad quality/BS practices will only make them double/triple down on them.
>>
Figure swapping might ruffle the feathers of moral faggots but it's necessary to fucking send a message when Hasbro utterly fucks up a high end set like the Vipers (who I might add, AGAIN, is a rare as fuck figure) and not only doesn't do a damn thing to fix it or admit to fucking up, but has their dick suckers blast anyone who complains about it.

Hasbro fucked up and fucked up hard. Especially with the no window packaging crap allowing them to stop even trying with quality control, to the point that they had moved to fucking putting CGI renders on the box to hide the piss poor garbage QC they were putting out?

You honestly think that if people didn't protest with figure swapping and ripping off the heads of Transformers figures and other acts of monkey wrenching, that store chains wouldn't forced Hasbro to 100% reverse course?

And as stated by another poster in this thread, how many moral faggots here clutching pearls and having the vapors and acting like kissless virgins have actually BOUGHT Hasbro products and are just white knighting a soulless evil-corp who (again) fucked up a $90 re-release of a highly sought after figure who's original release was going for $100+ and did NOTHING to fix it?
>>
I agree that the people complaining the loudest are people who aren't buying the product and as such, don't see the rightful anger that has crescendoed against Hasbro for the recent string of fuck-ups.

But I think the other issue is that people were rigging the system in retaliation to such a degree that fans ultimately DID win and forced Hasbro to change. IE retaliation-driven figure swapping forced Hasbro to admit that they fucked up and revert back to old packaging .

Sadly, this won't change the fact that there will be at least a year or two worth of figures who are irrevocably fucked since (unless you buy loose on Ebay and find a non-fucked up version) you are basically playing Russian Roulette on if you get a bad QC version of them.

But you can't blame >>10423739 for being pissed the fuck off that he spent $90 on a set and got fucked over with no lube. But then again, I would not be shocked if the people slamming him are also spoiled fucking trust fund brats who routinely spend a couple of hundred bucks a week on door dash and drugs and as such, are less motivated by morality and more motivated by the fact that they can't fathom that $90 is a lot of money to most working class types and getting screwed over for a fucked up product that isn't as advertised, is a big fucking deal.

The Viper box set was an embodiment of faiil and AIDS

Hasbro should have just put out a more toy accurate version to mass retail, making it a priority over the endless crap that is the BAT and Crimson Guard and other Cobra characters.

Release a retail version, re-sculpted from scratch to match the original figure if necessary to get around Target having exclusive rights to the Cobra Island one. Toss in some generic white guy alternate heads so people army build him as an incentive to double diip even.

They never should have done an army builder set, especially with a darkie Viper no one fucking asked for let alone wanted. Especially since he's the root cause of the production problem.

Adding to this, Hasbro should have yanked the set from stores and ordered a brand new production run, trashed the unsold figures, and done a new set with brand new box art to allow people to know that they are buying the fixed set.

As it stands, it's clear that Hasbro gave not a single fuck about how they FUBARed (again) a VERY EXPENSIVE release. Hell, they seemed to expected that they could bullshit their way out of being outed for their fuck up by way of the arm guards; as if to say they didn't expect that some people might take them off and discover the fuck up.

It should have been recalled, an apology made, and fixed with Hasbro going to extra mile to fix shit given how impossible the Vipers were to get in the first place and how their overpriced "fix" was bungled even worse than the first release.
>>
It's all a moot point at this time. The set's out of production and buying it now is just a crapshoot if you got the fucked up figures. And the only reason you can still find it at retail or online, is due to Hasbro fucking themselves in the ass with the price point.

>>10423739 is fucked either way but Hasbro basically did their damnest to cover up a huge screw up on one of the most expensive GI Joe releases of the Classified era and if he can fuck them over, then more power to him. As >>10424714 said, they should have ordered a nation-wide recall of the set from retail and done a re-issue with some sort of bonus for those who got stuck with a botched set. Either a free weapons/battle pack or a set of brand new unmasked heads for the Viper figures in exchange for sending in receipt of purchase.
>>
>>10424721
I wonder if Hasbro's panicking over the next couple of waves. If Falcon and Cover Girl came out as badly as they did, I shudder to think what the next couple of waves will look like. Especially since we have several waves to go before we get the old packaging back.
>>
>>10423739
If you are going to do figure swaps you might as well just eat the loss of the $90 and double down on buying a couple of figures from Amazon and doing the figure swap with them and mail back the fucked up Vipers in Marvel Legends or GI Joe solo figure boxes and get refunded that way. Amazon gives no fucks whatsoever about checking them while with Hasrbo and retail chains, it's 50/50 if you get someone bored enough to actually open the box.
>>
>>10423739
Keep calling Hasbro and complaining. While some reps will be assholes, law of statistics will be that you'll eventually get someone on the line that will meet you at least partially halfway purely because they've been bred with the "customer is always right" mentality that will have them wanting to make shit right.

Of course, I'd be suspect for what they would give you "for equal value" since as someone else said, the Viper three pack is the most expensive GI Joe mass figure release on the market. Unless they have some Serpentors squirrelled away that they have been sitting on, and not putting up on the Pulse channel, they may have to get you something from another line that is just as expensive from another toy line like say a Hellfire Club box set, a commander class Transformer figure, or a Kakuranger/Psycho Ranger box set.
>>
>>10424731
How does that shit work? I've heard tale over the years that Hasbro just randomly grabs shit from their warehouse of the same brand, price be damned for these sorts of situations. Do they really not give a fuck?
>>
>>10423371
The number is very very low I imagine of people nostalgic for Sgt. Savage for how much that brand crashed and burned.
It went to clearance within the same year it released
>>
>>10424735
Given how expensive the set was, who knows. The asshat might get some random GI Joe Classifed figure or one of the overprice O-Ring figures or one of the Transformers/O-Ring GI Joe sets. Or one of the Mindbender or Serpentor sets Hasbro has been sitting on just because they can.

It's a $90 set so Hasbro can't actually be random/glib about what they send. Does Hasbro send out multiple items for returns if it's a high end item and they can't find a suitable item in the brand to replace it with it that is of equal value?
>>
>>10424757

If they don't have the Viper set in stock, they'll probably send him the Tiger Force Duke/bike set and maybe Doctor Mindbender. Or if they have a sense of humor, three Python Patrol Vipers or a bunch of rainbow colored BATS that Hasbro can't fucking give away.
>>
>>10424735
50yo North American nerd that has dealt with Hasbro's Customer service multiple times in the past 30 years.
Hasbro has a warehouse with replacements, when you have those 11th hour restocks on Pulse and places that's usually that replacement stock past the point they will hold it. When you call/text/email about a defected item, they normally ask for the serial numbers both on the toy and box as well as photo evidence and if it's costly they have you send the defect back(however reports are coming in they are doing it with all items now regardless of cost) . When "of equal value" kicks in is when the computers show no stock of what you have so they then get something of comparable cost, they normally start with keeping it with the same brand series and line, so for example I had a mispainted Crimson Guard when they first came out, I contacted them and they had no more stock of him so they sent out what I discovered upon arriving a Classified PP BAT, it was the same series, brand, and cost as such it was why it was picked and shipped. However things get weird when they have no clear comparable item like the Viper 3-pack. Recently when they screwed up my daughters Transformers Movie Anniversary 5 pack that was close to $150 they gave her about $140(ish) in Studio series figures because they have no easy comparison to offer as an alternative.

So basically if they have the item they just take your bad one and give you a new one(usually open and checked too which is nice as it avoids more errors), if they have ran out of that item, they give you one that is from the same series, brand and cost, if that isn't possible it's cost approximate and the items are usually on brand. I have no idea how things work internationally.
>>
>>10424766
So what are the odds that the faggot will end up with a gold ticket/better item IE Serpentor AND Mindbender (two fucking figures I was never able to get my hands on) without having to do much other than sending in a photo and going full Karen to get some customer service rep to waive having to send the three pack back?

>>
>>10424775
>So what are the odds that the faggot will end up with a gold ticket/better item
Not to high as those items are in high demands so the replacement stock usually gets used up one way or another. It has happen, but it's not a realistic hope. Also the anon likely will get Viper replacements because they have been keeping those in stock pretty aggressively on Amazon and places meaning the stock is there.
>>
>>10424775
>waive having to send the three pack back?
That's not happening anon, they will want the figures back as to many people over the years try to exploit that shit to get more toys. Hell it's why the ask for the numbers on both the toy and box is to confirm you are not pulling some weird ass swap wit that shit. Also ya'll are delusional if you think this would be a good way to get sold out figures.
>>
>>10424785
>Hell it's why the ask for the numbers on both the toy and box is to confirm you are not pulling some weird ass swap wit that shit.
Well they also get those numbers to check the batches from the factory as well as start a file on you to avoid exploits and what not.

Fellas, what's the best way to repair stressed plastic? I barely touched spiritknife since I bought him and his legs were stiff enough to nearly break just from kicking the leg forward.
>>
>>10425311
To never touch it again. Sorry, Lad. There's no real fix. These drop down hips have been such a goddamn issue(here's lookin at you bbq and tp outback)
>>
>>10425390
Lol are you lost?
>>
>>10425311
It's not going to heal, but at least heat it up, disassemble the leg and sand the nubs of the ball a bit so that it's not so tight in the future, I guess.
>>
>>10425311
Boil some water and let him soak in it for 20 minutes or so. In the future, be more careful. Any new actuion figure I get, no matter what brand or manufacturer, gets soaked in hot water if it has a stiff joint that doesn't movie without strong force.
>>
>>10425230
Nice.
Where did you get them? Cobra stickers? Printed them yourself?
>>
>>10425498
This is more of a Joe thing given the thin pegs and drop-down mechanic. Thicker straight pegs don't immediately threaten to break when they are tight.

Well, unless it's brittle plastic.
>>
>>10425521
Those ones aren't mine. I have an Iron Panther but I haven't converted it yet. I'll probably just buy a HISS tank sticker sheet.
>>
>>10425552
I've had more problems with the hip pegs being loose. Acrylic floor polish seems to do the trick though.
>>
>>10424409
Weren't there like comic con pictures where their faces were covered in paint, that looks like just skin colored plastic
>>
>>10425498
I don't boil, but I do suggest letting the figure 'rest' after opening for a while. If it's any stiff, I hit it with a blow dryer and just watch the stress fall away like a calgon bath. I do this with everything except transformers and wrestling figures. Dunno why every figure can't be as pliable and posable our of the box as mattels wwe stuff.
>>
>>10425608
Prototypes are almost always cast in one color and painted. Unfortunately in this case the finished plastic looks inferior to the painted prototypes.

it actually depends on the stage of the prototype.

If it's close to release date, they may have test samples or production samples, which are basically what the final product will be.
>>
>>10425800
Those aren't prototypes.
>>
>>10425764
I grew up with the show but I read some of the comics when I was an adult. Snake Eyes was my favorite character in the show so I was glad that he gets more to do in the comics.
>>
>>10425764
Its kind of strange, because as much as I like GI Joe, and I loved it as a kid (it was one of three toylines I had as a kid, the other's being TMNT and Real Ghostbusters) I actually never watched much of the cartoon, and the only comic I ever read was a single issue of one of the GI Joe/Transformers crossovers.

I actually thought the cartoon was boring as a kid. I just really liked all the designs for the Cobra troopers, the vehicles, and all the weird sublines in the 90s.
>>
>>10425764
I have never seen either, I just buy the toys.
>>
>>10425764
I just had whatever was on the file cards and my imagination. For some reason I thought the Dreadnoks were all just mercenary mechanics for the longest time. Torch would weld for anyone, so long as the check cleared.
>>
>>10425311
You alway boil and pop and trim the bumps on these hip joints before even trying to move them. The stalker buck is notorious with stiff hips balls.
>>
>>10425981
This.

And if you really want Spirit to be usable, pick up any other GIJC figure that you could care less for and which falls into a cheap enough price point that you’re OK destroying its hips.

Boil and pop the legs off of the donor and slide the soft rubber pants off, then use a chisel to gently crack the glue holding the hard plastic pelvis together and harvest the intact hip assembly. Do the same with Spirit and replace his stressed hip assembly with the intact one, trim the nubs on those balls, close the pelvis back up (no need to glue), put the pants back on, and finally heat and replace the legs.
>>
>>10425981

Seems like just dabbing some silicone grease into the ball sockets would be alot easier.

of the OG/80s material I like the TV show up to The Arise Serpentor 5 part, everything after that got weird imo and less interesting. In humorous flip I found most of the start of the comic series boring until Serpentor was introduced and all the events after that I got hook on until about the Transformers/Joe cross over which much like that late Season 2 cartoon it just got to weird for me to keep interest.
>>
>>10425764
I wasn't a fan of either, but I would give the comics a slight advantage. They could get away with a little more in the comics. People could die in the comics, and it gave the stories some kind of stakes. Snake Eyes worked better as a comics character, too. It was all pretty silly, though.
>>
>>10427124
The Sierra Gordo issues were straight savage, and then right after that came the Cobra Civil War. I remember that they had so much shit to do that for a while they made the comic series bi-weekly instead of monthly. That was pretty much the peak.

Any word on a regular release Dr. Mindbender? I'd like to pick him up for my Cobros.
>>
>>10427610
Everyone kinda believes that mindbender and serpentor will get a stripped down retail release but I haven't heard anything official. As I understand it, hasbro has put reprints on the back burner unless it's a trooper, viper or bat. Those guys are getting pumped out.

Just because yojoe is calling all those vehicles, does hasbro really classify pieces of cardboard like the missle command center a vehicle?

i don't know
but its a bit too much of a coincidence that the 24th vehicle was the wolverine released with cover girl and cover girl had the data pad with the wolverine on it

so with your method we get the wolverine right? That wouldn't really work vs the HISS since it has no room for more passengers without heavy modification.
Alternatively, the dragonfly had a #24 sticker. That would give us a vehicle with a driver we don't have already and room for carrying more troops like the HISS.
>>
>>10427992
Yea, the Wolverine was the counter to the HISS in the vintage commercial so it makes sense.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqzOWrOFvRY

But 24 is also the sticker number for the Dragon Fly, which would also be neat. But new recruits could mean like the movie and Chuckles trained on the HAVOC. Tunnel Rat and Chckles are already pipelined too.

A classified dragonfly would be huge, I'm sure the props would collapse though. Hiss had so much value imo for a haslab it was a fairly easy decision but I doubt hasbro would treat as that good again.

I wonder if the HISS was so decently priced and filled out as far as stretch goals, because they knew people would army build them, so most people would buy multiples. Feels like many other vehicles, less people would buy more of them unless they are also meant to be troop transports and whatnot.
>>
>>10428120
I think it was reasonable just because it was the first Joe haslab and they wanted to hook people. I fully expect this next one to be as overpriced as their other recent failures.

While it was publicized, sadly it got drowned out by a LOT of people shitting on anyone who brought it up due to Hasbro dick suckers attacking anyone who talked badly about the three-pack and by asshole SJW types who kept shrieking that anyone complaining about the fuck up (caused entirely by the forced inclusion of a black Viper who no one fucking wanted) was racist and that "if it triggers you so much, don't fucking remove the armbands!".

Adding to this was there was also a bunch of Hasbro apologist saying THEIR Viper three packs had no problems in it. So basically if you didn't hear about the scandal/fuck up in the first couple of weeks, you probably didn't hear about it due to the cult/lefties killing any discussion of the fuck up.

Adding to all of this is the fact that the Viper Officer figure WASN'T fucked up and the fact that the set came with a TON of exclusive accessories not available anywhere else including a couple of exclusive guns and the fact that it's the only set (currently available to buy) with gunfire effects for the guns .

So you have a perfect storm of people who might have missed the initial discussion before boards (including this one) shut down any and all discussion about this colossal fuck up combined with those Hasbro dick suckers who claimed "only SOME of the sets were fucked up!" and the fact that the set remains the only way to get a regular Viper without settling for the retard version (IE PP Viper). Along with the fact that it had extra exclusive accessory shit that makes people reluctant to give up, especially since if they returned everything and got another defective pack or worse, something completely different, then they end up with NOTHING.

>>10424779
Actually that's bullshit, since it's recently been revealed that Hasbro was sitting on a bunch of unsold convention stock during Covid and sent it out as replacement stock for people who got screwed over via lack of stock.
>>
If they do Snowcat what figures do they include with it since we've got Snowjob incoming and Cover Girl already released?

More snow based Joes like Blizzard and Iceberg? Green shirts? Or do they piss people the fuck off by including fan favorites like Dial Tone, Wet Suit, and Alpine; characters who were impossible to find at retail (Alpine and Wetsuit) or only available as convention figures (Dial Tone) in the set?
>>
>>10428685
simple solution would be to have the figures be cheap artic color repaints of existing releases. Artic Duke, Scarlet, Snake Eyes, and maybe Breaker with his radio gear included

They said they wanted to do more mission/environment specific figures in the line eventually so I would think they could start putting out arctic ones for that. We already have Arctic Storm Shadow technically and they could just use the designs for Scarlett and Lady Jaye from Operation Blackout.
>>
>>10428685
I think putting actual characters as haslab exclusives would piss people off, unless it was different looks from their classic ones.
>>
>>10429021
I still wonder if those two in particular were cancelled classified designs. It was odd that everyone in that game either had their classified design or their original look, except for them. I get the feeling they were in the works but dropped when they scaled back on the new aesthetic and made everyone look more classic.

Sadly they've already done that. Fuck, classic/retro card Cobra Commander was used as fucking bait to force people to fund the HISS Tank. With people coping hard claiming "it's the Mickey Mouse misprint version of CC and chrome face mask!! We'll still get a regular version with silver paint on the mask and the proper cobra symbol on his front jacket at retail! >>10430055
Dude, the HISS was funded in less then a day and was one of the best selling Haslabs long before Classic Commander was ever announced. It's not like they used CC to push a slow moving project, and people were expecting some sort of accessory to the tank more then another figure. Especially one of Cobra Commander, who already has three figures in the line.

And there's no way they *won't* do a Retro card release of that Cobra Commander, the thing pretty much sells itself.
>>

Tommy Lee Jones?
>>
>>10430201

>>
>>10430388
The cope here is insane dude.

We are NOT getting a mass retail retro-card Cobra Commander. EVER. No fucking way will Hasbro want to deal with the backlash of people who would react by seeing that they don't have to back Haslab shit and just wait for Hasbro to release it at mass retail instead.

If they were going to make one they would have done it already. It's not fucking happening.
>>
>>10430630
This right here.

Classic Cobra Commander isn't getting a mass retail release. If he was, he would have gotten one already due to his iconic nature and putting him with the HISS Tank was something where Hasbro short sightedly put a major in demand character in the Haslab campaign without putting much thought towards it denying everyone a key character.

Then again, I feel the retro-card line sucks balls since it's nothing but re-issues and not new characters, unless you count Gung Ho (who was practically a brand new figure rebuilt from scratch).
>>
>>10430630
>>10430638
Its very obvious they're holding off releasing a retro version until after the haslab releases. There is no reason to put him out now, all they will do is piss off backers that people who didn't buy it are getting him earlier. It may be an exclusive of some kind but they are absolutely going to release another one, its insane to think the mickey mouse version would somehow be the only one we get, especially when we've already gotten 2-3 repaints of almost every other figure they've made so far.
>>
>>10430662
Again fucking cope. They would have done it now if they intended the MM logo to be a one-off exclusive. It's not going to happen because then why the fuck would anyone fucking bother with Haslab shit if they eventually hit retail anyway? It's just limp wristed faggots like you coping like crazy because you didn't buy a HISS tank and telling yourself lies to sleep at night.
>>
>>10430630
>>10430638
>>10430684
It's the "mickey mouse ears" logo version of CC with the Haslab. The team already noted the mold will get used again(along with the drivers) just not with that "iconic" logo. Hell they already admitted reusing the Hiss tank mold again for something else isn't off the table, it just won't be 1 for 1 the Haslabs.
Also some of the retro figures with the Striker showed up in two packs like Duke and CC.

And who the hell is really going to be pissed? Most Joe fans are either rich and old or poor and old. The former won't give a fuck they backed it and then get another chance at a strip down version of these items while the poor ones will either still bitch at the price or be happy they get another chance at it.

This brand ain't like Transformers having a strong surge in generational support and thus a stable market for the last 35+ years.
>>
>>10430684
Brother they literally said the HISS itself was not even off the table for a rerelease or retool in some fashion, something they've never even considered with previous haslabs. He is coming. Feel free to believe what you want though.
>>
>>10430630
>>10430638
You guys are fucking idiots. The whole reason they made the CC in the HISS have the misprinted Cobra symbol was to make him more rare than the mass release later.
>>

Nonnef's swamp skier kit is an overpriced shitshow

>flimsy top seat piece
>peg to hold rear of the seat on doesn't push in flush because the hole is too shallow
>handlebar holes cracked but waited a few seconds after successfully plugging them in before they split
>an extra $10 fucking dollars just for stickers
>hints of the junk box coming later, as if you'd dare take this thing back apart with how questionable the peg fits are & risk of breakage

Get it into a pose you like, get Zartan seated, glue shit down. The existing vehicles in the line show Hasbro could do 5X better than this kit if they just bothered to make the Dreadnoks over later-line figures no one is really hyped for.
>>
>>10431248
and Nonnef really should stick to making small add-on kits for TF. They're good enough at that. More ambitious shit, they need to avoid. But the poor fits & tight 5mm peg holes have been a problem the past 1-2 years that should be worked out better, instead of saying "fuck it, if it's bad, you fix it!"

Maybe I'm spoiled from watching Toy GIgante's HISS tank buildup but I kind of prefer Classified-scaled vehicles that try to re-imagine them with more detail. I love classic GI Joe vehicles for what they are but I don't think simply scaling them up really matches well with the aesthetics of Classified Series. Maybe it'd look better with Ultimates although it'd be out of scale.
>>
>>10431257
It's actually kind of impressive how Hasbro still hasn't busted out one of these in the Classified line. With as many Zartans as they've popped out, you figure this thing would've been a no brainer.

Got mezco Destro today. I had considered cancelling him after getting the retro destro as I don't normally go for their stuff but thought he would look a little more premium than a classified displayed in the HISS. Would not sleep on him if you guys are interested, without a doubt my favorite figure so far this year. I don't think their snake eyes or roadblock look particularly good in comparison but will definitely be keeping my eyes on the line in the future now.

>>10433068
I actually got the TNTina with Glider set for cheap, and I was thinking of modding the glider into a CLAW somehow. It already has the basic shape, just need to find a way to attach a backpack to is, then paint it white. It's not an impossible task, but is one that's a bit outside of my experience.

Though with the Trouble Bubble and the missile Drone with Scrap Iron, they clearly plan to push more smaller vehicles out in some manner. So hopefully it's just a matter of time before we get the good stuff.
