Superman was always my favorite character, in high school I was known as the kid with the Superman shirt. I LOVED that character but when Man of Steel came out and he killed Zod I knew they were taking Superman somewhere strange and it killed my interest in him. Then the next movie came out and he was a mopey bitch for two hours until a cave troll stabbed him in the chest. I haven’t read a comic in years, I don’t give a fuck how WB is wiping their asses with him or any of the other characters in the movies.I like the toys of him in his classic costume with the red trunks because it doesn’t have anything to do with the shit they’ve done to him in the last decade. I took a look at some of the 2020 figures recently and some of them really had significant articulation limitations, feels like they were learning on the fly. It probably cost them some sales given people had a first sampling of the line that was flawed and might never buy a newer figure
For once I'm hoping McFarlane does a gold label with an alternate younger-looking head because this one came out absolutely busted. Kon looks like Superman's alcoholic older brother.

It's far more coherent and each character gets their own development and subplots, especially Cyborg who was really neglected in the theatrical version. I'd say the Snyder cut is more logical in its story than BvS was, which is not what I was expecting going in. Probably cutting these movies down to 2 or 2:30 really guts some of the points that justify what is happening. (Although one could say, write a shorter plot in the first place I suppose.)

Like with some other figures in both DCMV and MLs, it may not be the sculpt that is bad, it may just be the flat paint job that is not bringing out any detail. I'd check in hand pics when they become available too to see if its necessary to get an alt head. It might be able to be touched up with a better, more varied paint job to look more like him. But would probably require decent customizing skills or a tutorial. Given the high profile of Keaton that might get made by someone though, and its a rather small part of the figure, although one where the proper blending of the colors of the paint will be the biggest challenge.

Example: Black Adam Rock looks better in hand to me than in their white bg pics.On the other hand, figures taken with the diorama backgrounds have photoshopping and favorable lighting and tend to look better than in hand in a lot of cases.So if I cant see in-hand pics before buying (like when something sells out fast like Keaton) I go off the white background so I can see the worst case scenario and see if that is still acceptable, potentially assuming it may look at bit better in normal indoor lighting.-As far as painting, the only McFarlanes I've customized I've used DecoArt acryllic paint. If anything, it seemed to adhere so fast I had to wash off any mistakes very quickly or it'd be difficult to get off.That said I don't know about long term cracking as they have not had the paint on them long term, and I don't tend to handle my figures a ton, mostly just a few pose changes, nothing drastic. So your use-case may be different, especially if you're painting a part like the diaper of the figure that will get a lot of flexing. I'd be concerned about possible cracking there and would seek out custom vids specifically for McFarlanes to see what kind of paint would be best for the flexible diapers.Also may be obvious, but I've read with acryllic it still should be set aside for a day or 2 after you're done to dry even if it seems dry.And needless to say don't use oil paint for beginner customizing on figures. That's the only case I can think of where the stuff would rub right off without a lot of handling.As far as anything drying into an 'almost hard plastic' I doubt it or I have not heard of anything doing that. The plastic will still feel like the consistency of hard or soft they selected when they made it at the factory, it will just have a layer of paint over it.
It sucks that people are so desperate for a Michael Keaton release that they're willing to stop to the McFarlane that doesn't even have the right costume, let alone look like the actor. A shame. At least we're getting a cool Batmoble.
