>>10327300Does membership guarantee that you'll be able to get the doll on release day? If not and they're still gonna sell out within a few minutes of release, what's the point of paying extra for this?
>>10328118OP I might be the only one who cares but I just wanna say I really appreciate the variety of pics you're choosing.
>>10328118this is one of the s5 dolls i thought was significantly prettier irl than in stock photos, same with michelle whose makeup is way more cohesive/flattering irl. unfortunately i think victoria who was originally my fav is a lot less pretty in person, bc the ones i’ve seen have weird lip blushing and eyebrows that are too short/small. interested in what other anons think though.
>>10328126>Does membership guarantee that you'll be able to get the doll on release day?No.>>10328126>If not and they're still gonna sell out within a few minutes of release, what's the point of paying extra for this?To shut faggots up about scalpers and resellers while not actually doing anything about the problem other than milk more money from idiots.
>>10328321>To shut faggots up about scalpers and resellers while not actually doing anything about the problem other than milk more money from idiots.no point to give them money then, that's just rewarding them for being morons
>>10328469It's literally giving idiots the illusion of purchase security, when in reality all you're doing is paying mattel extra money to get fucked. All this will do is make scalpers raise prices on the release because it's "exclusive". Anyone with a brain knows that $10 per scalper membership means fuckall to anyone already established in MH scalping.
>>10328481I've just bailed on MH completely at this point. The new series sucks and falls flat; SH/RH so far has better dolls for the pricepoint. It feels weird to say that.
Probably a stupid question but I’m new to the board, why do these threads specify no BJD , when there doesn’t seem to be a separate BJD thread either?
>>10328640BJD threads attract drama
>>10328640bjd threads are full of drama, sperging, fighting about recasts. Better contain them in their own thread.
>>10328640>when there doesn’t seem to be a separate BJD thread either?it pops up every now and then, but /jp/ is way more consistent in having them
>>10328649>>10328651>>10328655Fair enough, that’s understandable
>>10328481I've seen a lot of people elsewhere defending it because "it's only $10" and will stop the bot problem, and even if it doesn't stop the bot problem it will "increase my chances of getting a doll." Absolutely whipped by Mattel.
>>10328683I honestly want to know what goes through their heads, thinking scalpers won't pay $10, or that their chances of getting a doll increase, when the ToS clearly state that the membership doesn't guarantee being able to buy the dolls anyways, as they're sold based off of limited production quantity.
does anyone in these threads like American Girl dolls, or Bitty Twins, or My Twinn, or Ruby Red Fashion Friends dolls?
>>10329577love AG dolls, not as big of a fan of them ever since Pleasant Company got sold though, but still like the concept
>>10328140Just trying to avoid more complaining about too many MH OPs. But it seems anons will always complain about "too much" MH thread content no matter what.
Anyone know why the Disney ILY 12" dolls are so hard to find compared to the 18" versions? They seem to only be available in very specific Targets, and not WM/other physical stores. Whereas I've seen the 18" ones all over before.
>>10329577i love AG dolls as well but not a lot of people in these threads do
dose anybody know a caucasian fashionista with freckles and dark brown hair/black, i wanna make a mini me but i am kinda lazy about it
>>10330050Maybe this will help?https://fashiondollz.de/barbie-ken-fashionistas-faces/
>>10330050White women with dark hair do not exist to doll companies
>>10330114Sure they do, just not typically with blue eyes so they can exist in that racial limbo that people can project whatever they want onto. If you want brown hair with blue eyes, the Birthstone Beauties line from 2007 had some lovely Steffie facemolds with that combo, but that hair is crusty
>>10330050Have you tried having sex and waiting 9 months?
>>10330050Does it need to be a Barbie? McKeyla from the defunct MC2 line fits your description and she's pretty inexpensive on ebay. Toy Box Philosopher did a review a few years back if you're interested: https://www.toyboxphilosopher.com/2015/08/project-mc-2-dolls-by-mga-entertainment.html?m=1
>>10330149That's not a "mini me" since it has a mind on it's own
>>10330050You are better off just getting a "live love farm" bitch and rerooting her hair
>>10330114>tfw idk that snow white exists
>>10330614Let's see how the live action Snow White dolls come out
>>10330114thank god somebody said it i feel like i am the only one seeing this, its always either asian or a very light skin mixed individual
>>10330114Isn't Raquelle white? She got plenty of dolls>>10330614Belle and Megara too
>>10330050I don't know about freckles but Black hair, light eyes some of the older Womder Woman Barbies
>>10330050But light eyes and freckles that would need a reroot you could go with Skipper as Velma, but I have two of them and her skapl busted open at the seam on both so that's an issue.
>>10330746I never got around to actually rerooting them becasue the holes discouraged me and I never made a wig so I just procrastinated. They are rebodied to the petite Asian one and the skintone is a little to red for the yellowish hue of the heads but I wanted them petite
>>10330144>>10330744>>10330746OP didn't say anything about "light eyes." Do you guys read "Caucasian" and think white people must have blue eyes, even though the majority actually have brown eyes? Weird.
>>10330851No, I basically said similar to what you are saying now, yes they can be Caucasian, but typically people will assign dark haired dolls lighter skin and with dark eyes with any race they prefer that can fall into that category of combination. I figured anon wasn't looking for that, judging from their statement, so I gave them an example of a brunette doll with blue eyes.
>>10330702That's what happens when onde hair and blue eyes have been set on a pedestal for so long. When anerican doll makers think Caucasian they think Aryan.
i dont think they're considered fashion dolls but I just got the blonde Bitty Twins boy girl set in the mail and im very happy with them
>>10330114American Girl Doll can solve your problem!
>>10329734From what I understand they’re Target/ShopDisney exclusive for now. They’ve been popping up on Amazon now too though.
>>10330050There’s a 2018 Graduation Day Barbie who could pass for Caucasian though no freckles. Really pretty face though
>>10330050Fashionista 40 is nice too though she’s expensive af now
>>10331108pretty
>>10330716Isn't Raquelle considered latina by a lot of people
>>10330114This u telling me fashionista have an albinon doll, a prosthetic leg even a doll with down syndrome but not the most common type of white person
>>10330050Forgot to mention also brown eyes, my bad
>>10331165how about this new fashionista anon?
>>10328118I picked up Victoria and she is by far my favorite, the body blushing, the full body freckles the soft colours and blushy lips. ( Not my pic I'm still restyling her ) On another note I'm looking for good doll sized weapons and guns any recommendations?
>>10331156NTA - thought she was supposed to be Asian. Kek I guess >>10330144 is right, we all just project whatever race we want onto these ones.
>>10331299ohh fantastic, thx anon
>>10331353>good doll sized weapons and gunsThere is a ton of that shit on ebay/amazon if you search "1/6 weapons", there's a big collector ecosystem for 1/6 GI Joe that generates lots of war-based accessories. Easier to find guns for Barbie than it is to find a lot of modern accessories.
>>10331397they are lying to u, the lighting makes her look much paler then she actually is, still a cute doll tho
>>10330050fashionista 188 is cute and cheap, she's curvy body type though. don't let freckles be a dealbreaker bc they're one of the easiest things to add.
>>10330050also this barbie (made to move DJY08). pretty and a MTM body so you can actually pose her.
>>10331353Look up BJD accessories, plenty of weapons available. They might be a little big for typical fashion dolls though
>>10331353There’s a line called World Peacekeepers that makes 1:6 “action figures” and I always think about how funny some of the accessories would be with Barbie
>>10331551
loving the pics in ebay listings for "barbie weapons"
>>10330716raquelle is asian
>>10330114They exist, you're just to poor.
>>10331878
>>10331878>Drag queen face
>>10331551Yes!! I love this, I know a lot of accessories end at just guns, but I love any weird or weapon like accessories! >>10331419I didn't realize how easy it was I've never looked before and there is so much ! Thank you
>>10331698Proof?
what do you guys think about these 'once upon a zombie' dolls? i just found out about them because i saw some of their heads being sold on aliexpress and was very intrigued. i really like their faces.
>>10332011Fun concept, but not the best quality, didn't seem like they really did much with it
>>10332027yeah, although i like them, looking at the dolls they could've gone a lot harder with the concept. they're a bit too safe which is a shame.
>>10332011I had the whole line at one point then sold them off. The concept was cool, but they look/feel cheap and same-y.
>>10331353Here's my girl at home now
>>10332255I keep trying to avoid getting more RH dolls but they keep sucking me in. This dolls face is so clearly inspired by bjd faceups I need it in my collection
>>10332255I hate freckles but even I like this doll.
>>10332373>>10332626I honestly don't like a majority of rainbow high dolls, I have Natasha, Luna, Dahlia and now Victoria) and something about the soft features, the body blushing and I just noticed that she has brown eyelashes, she's the only once I'd buy more than one of, she's going to work so well with my more history inspired clothes. Also I've seen some people say they haven't gotten body blushing, and there has been some differences in lips and freckles.
>>10331967Her name is Raquelle Nia Lee Kim, she's Korean.
>>10333130Source?
>>10333268Nta but I can’t find an official source. It seems to be one of those internet rumors that many don’t realize is false
>>10333130That's just a fan headcanon name so no. And if she *was* Asian, she'd be SEA as she's brown skinned, which Koreans are not.
>>10332373man, I feel youI'm not a fan of their proportions and majority of their dolls look real bland, but the handful that hits the spot is just elder god tier.
Anyone happen to have a chart of all the rainbow high dolls released?
any tips for attaching more delicate things to hair? i have an idea for a mermaid OOAK and want to add seaweed strands to her hair, my current plan is to use fake moss/lichen strands, but i'm not sure how to work that into the hair without ruining it
>>10334310Are you using the original hair, rerooting, a wig? What fiber type is it?
>>10334320rerooting with saran, i might switch to doing a wig instead though
I finally broke down and washed Heather's hair and this is what I ended up doing with it. How bad does it look? I really like how she looks in purple too I need to get more purple stuff.
>>10334297https://rainbow-high.fandom.com/wiki/DollsAfaIk this covers ever doll, mate.
>>10333867anon Raquelle can sill be korean colored. They can still get dark, they just white wash their photos and chug a lot of glutathione + other forms of skin lightening.
>>10334310I also did a mermaid reroot, though with mine I did strands of “bubbles” strung into clear thread and then rooted. I might suggest gluing your material along a similarly colored thread, giving it a thorough dry, and then rooting the thread.
Hi anon, just popping by in order to show some of the na na na surprise minis that haven't been posted, yet, for the people who were curious about them. The face prints have a good quality but the clothes may have some paint defects and sometimes there are errors during accessory packaging at the factory (Aubrey Heart, in the pink bunny hat, came with two right shoes). Are they worth 14 €(Europoor price tag)? Probability not if you're only lukewarm about the aesthetics. Would've been amazing if they were sold at 10$ like in the US but maybe that is not possible from the business standpoint.
>>10334940* probably
now that I have (incomplete) Abbey Signature, Dot Dead Gorgeous, Picture Day, Music Festival, Ghouls Rule, Maul Sessions and I Heart Fashion, my last stop before G3 is the Snowboard Club fashion pack, wish me and my wallet good luckI'm still pondering whether or not to get 13 wishes
>>10334940I got this one and I’m obsessed. She is just too cute. I don’t even have any na na nas, I just bought this on impulse and got so lucky I got the one I wanted. I might need to get more because all of them are so cute.Only thing is I just with the hat was removable.
>>10334940Damn annon that is rough. They didn't sell well in my area so my walmart has them marked down to $5 a piece. I'd get them all if I thought I had a place to show them off
>>10334963ohh nice, wish u lots of luck on your collection journey, anon
>>10335325thanks anon, right now my only "unattainable" thing is one of I Heart Fashion's dresses, I haven't found any listing of it being sold separately aside from one where the dress is incomplete
>>10334750They still don't get THAT dark unless they intentionally tan. She is very brown, looks like Filipino. Again, there's not a shred of proof that she's supposed to be Korean so give it up already.
some previews for the fang club ghoulia were revealed on instagram
>>10334910>I might suggest gluing your material along a similarly colored thread, giving it a thorough dry, and then rooting the thread.sounds like a shout, i'll give that a try and see how it works out, thanks anon
>>10335625I don't like that the earrings are a reused mold.
>>10335623>very brownNot that anon, but eeeh not really. Even her actual doll was lighter than her cartoon appearance. I agree though she has no confirmed race, she’s sort of whatever anyone wants her to be
>>10335623>She is very brownWut
>>10335094Technically, you could remove it but then she would look like Friar Tuck unless you reroot the hair.
>>10335625Don't like the pixel eyebrows
