Decided to customize my SH Ainsley, I really only got her for her clothes but I do hate just leaving a doll just sitting around. Her hair was super crusty, after a wash it's pleasantly soft and quite long, put it into two quick braids, nothing fancy, goes with the goth-y look I want. Gave her some black lipstick, not my best paint job but I think it looks fine, really it's a shame MGA doesn't utilize black lipstick more often. Popped on some new eyelashes, tried to shape them a bit shorter the first round but didn't like how they came out so she has some extra dramatic eyelashes. I'm pretty happy with her now, might play around more with the hair or eyelashes later, I dont do customization stuff to often so this was fun.

Thank you, they’re just some costume lashes I had laying around since I got them in October, they naturally had a sticky lining so they aren’t completely glued down, I just cut them to shape and laid them underneath the existing eyelashes and laid the bottom around the natural shape to her eye. I don’t know how they differ from non-costume lashes quality-wise, but these were fairly forgiving when it came to lifting them back up and placing them again.

That's not even how they ship or stock them. The G3 dolls are all solid cases of each character with totally separate SKUs and UPCs. Most doll lines have switched to this to avoid that very thing from happening.

I bought an ILY, a fashion pack (that hasn't arrived yet), and a really discounted Wreck-it-Ralph Disney Princess set, and it's just a reminding bummer that nothing fits other dolls anymore. It seems like everything is strategically designed to not fit other brands, which seems mean to kids.

I think I'll stick to getting any other clothing from Etsy, with creators who specify by body type.

ILY's clothing, hair, and quality seemed pretty good though, couldn't complain at all if I were getting it for a kid at the store or for a friend at Disney World.

Does anyone know of good replacement feet for a Medicom Real Action Hero doll? And yes, I know this question is more the the 1/6 figure crowd. But there's no 1/6 general ATM and Saber can be considered a doll.

So I picked up this Saber Extra relatively cheap. She's in great condition, but she only has big stompy metal boots that peg into her ankle joints instead of regular feet. I'd like to dress her up in other outfits, so she really could use some regular feet.

I looked everywhere, but there's no info on where to buy or where to replace Medicom feet. The only thing I could find was to buy a whole Medicom blank body. But Medicom has long stopped making those bodies,so they're rare and expensive. Besides, I don't want to waste a whole body when all I need is the feet.

So does anyone know if some other company has removable feet that could fit a Medicom? At this point I'm considering getting a thrift store doll, lopping her feet off and customizing them into usable tootsies for Saber.

i know nothing about these kind of dolls, but the rainbow high pacific coast dolls (only that specific line) have removable/exchangable legs from the shin down (high heel and flat feet versions).

is this doll only customizable from the ankle down? you might be better off just putting her in different shoes than replacing her feet entirely.

What are your thoughts on the Na Na Na Surprise Minis dolls? I'm in the EU and they're kinda hard to find here outside the Internet. I was lucky enough to find the ones that I was looking for but had to drive across town to do so (can't pick specific dolls when ordering online). The big toy store I went to also only had one mini display with 12 dolls, all of which were still there until I bought one... So, it's save to say that they are less than popular. Also, in here they cost 14€ per doll (they're somewhat cheaper online sometimes). I don't think this new doll line is going to last that long. That said, I still really like these little plastic dolls and it really doesn't bother me that they have plastic clothes like the the little blind box LOL dolls. Posting pic for attention.

How do you all curate and downsize your doll collections? Or do you just let it grow and grow exponentially over time? I'm pretty picky about new dolls that I buy, but there are a few in my collection such as the OG G1 Draculaura that I feel like I keep solely because I won't be able to get them back if sold, and not because I really like the doll. I think it would be better they go to someone that really appreciated them than sit wrapped in storage but selling can be a pain and I always worry I'll change my mind and regret it later.

I tried to downsize mine when basically everyone was purging their MH dolls, and couldn't manage to sell most of it even for cheap. I stuffed them in a box and put it in the closet. Nowadays all those MH dolls are worth a ton... I really need to put them up for sale again. I did sell my cupid at that time for $40 and regret it, could've gone for WAY more now.

Anyway I chose which ones to sell by looking at and holding each one, and thinking "Do I really love this one? Would I be sad if I didn't see it on the shelf tomorrow?" and also thinking of how many versions of that character I already have. Basically that Japanese lady's "does it spark joy" method.

I try to be picky and practice restraint nowadays, when I first started collecting I really went for anything that caught my eye that I simply liked. My collection became so filled with clutter of dolls that are nice, but just not really something in retrospect that I needed to have. I have to really like it, it has to be something I can see myself enjoying for years. I recently went through my whole collection and donated a lot of dolls, accessories and clothes. I can understand it being harder to get rid of though with harder to obtain dolls, those are understandably mixed feelings.

Why do they feel the need to do it, genuinely? RH bodies are already THICK, their butts and legs are huge, the proportion of the waist is the only issue, so scaling the same body taller or shorter isn't actually solving anything. It maybe just includes more short/tall girls which are still both socially acceptable, unlike heavy or androgynous body types. It just makes all the clothes/bodies less swappable.
Do they actually see profits when they do this? Like if a kid wants a wardrobe for different dolls they have to buy MORE sets so they can actually have enough options for each doll? I feel like the way everyone does it, it only causes problems.
