I was looking through my backlog yesterday and realized something... I had totally forgotten that Shiki exists. Dont know why, i like the design, but... man, is she forgetable for some reason...

What are some mainline girls youve forgotten? What was the reason? Was it because the design was unremarkable or like me and Shiki here, sits in a black void in your memory?

I don't understand why Bandai 30MS optional hair or faceplates are so expensive. And not only in EU - while hair packs (4 types in pack) cost 25€ in EU shops (if they are available at all), they cost 1000 yen each at Mandarake. And faceplates, still not available at Hobby Frontline, have listed 35€ as price. Why?

Much better than how bandai did it with their FRS and better for customizers as well.

Fucking finally. Even Die Buddy managed to release his stuff without making it a JP convention exclusive.
>>
>>10287967
Just for clarifying - plastic dust can be harmful, especially if it's very fine, which is why professionals wear mask at work. BUT! Modeling work is not working at factory 24/7 and you don't produce fine enough dust to actually do any real harm. Even if, you are removing very little of material while sanding and inhale maybe 10% tops of what's get into air while your nose and lungs will do their work to stop or remove most of it before it do any real harm. What's left is not any dangerous than what you inhale while walking next to street everyday.

It's good to know what you work with but not to fall into paranoia.
>>
Newfag here, so do i panel lining before or after topcoating?
Also i seen some people saying the ink from Tamiya panel line or Gundam marker can make the plastic cracked, is this true?
>>
>>10288624
Gloss top coat - > Panel line - > flat top coat or whichever one you want.

This the one I'm familiar with.
>>
>>10288627
What the point of gloss topcoat though? is matte fine?
>>
>>10286920
I just bought the raser gate remover set, its good but is there anything to replace the balancer, shit is expensive as fuck and it ruined after like 2 kits
>>
>>10288688
not him, but to protect the plastic from being eaten away by the harsh panel liner, plus it allows it to flow smoothly thru the panels lines.
>>
>>10288688
Protects the plastic from the panel liner's thinner, seals in decals (if applicable), and gives the panel liner a nice smooth surface to flow onto.
>>
>>10288688
Matte surface is a bit porous, gloss is smooth. Therefore when applying panel liner, which usually is enamel based thinned paint (that's what most people have in mind when mentioning "panel liner"), it flows easily into recesses and similar. In addition to that, you can easily remove liner from gloss surface but once you stain matte, it's pretty much set and only thing you can do is to paint over. "Protecting the plastic" part isn't as important as people believe but Koto plastic seems to be especially prone to going brittle if too much of enamel thinner goes into place where it can't evaporate.

Of course nothing will prevent you from using acrylic washes if you want, it's just that they tend to be harder to handle if you just want to do panel lining or pin washing.

Gundam marker bleeds when topcoated. Tamiya panel wash uses a thinner that breaks certain kinds of plastic (polystyrene)

If your new to doing panel lines I recommend a cheepy bottle of black acrylic paint and a small brush. Clean up can be done with a toothpick, and it won't screw with most topcoats.

>>
>>10293437
>>10293535
Look for a basic compressor with a decent variation in pressure. It also helps to get one that doesn't shake the fuck out of itself, and be careful that you place it where it won't suck up dust and paint particles. The compressor is pretty simple to find, but the most important part is finding a brush you like. Do you want a top or bottom fed, what price range are you looking at, and how much replacement parts cost.

I like my iwata top fed, since the parts are easily swapped whenever I want to change things about how it works, like my nozzle size or needle length.

Also, I strongly recommend Mr color leveling thinner, that shit makes just about anything go through an airbrush with ease.

>>
>>10293533
>>10293605
I was thinking I might just get a well reviewed one like the iwata eclipse, I can part with a bit of money and If I hate it I can just sell it, maybe return depending on where I buy it. As for the compressor, does it really matter that much? If you can control the airflow through the brush it should be fine if the compressor isn't fancy, right? I wasn't sure if a generic one with a big tank would be better, or one specifically made for airbrushing that runs quieter.
>>10293535
I hear you can use Windex (with future) instead of lacquer, which is cool because lacquer is kinda scary from what I've read.
>>
>>10293691
Might be better to get a cheap airbrush to practice with first, so you don't accidentally damage an expensive one, and a cheap one costs only about 20€.
I have been using a generic chinese compressor without a tank for years now, it works fine and is fairly quiet, my spraybooth makes more noise.
Lacquer fumes may give a bit of brain damage if you have bad ventilation but surely getting a really nice paintjob on your kits is worth it?

what the fucking shit. I ordered this on day 1 and I'm seeing already as Backordered on HLJ. Is this released already and I missed it?

Also wtf, they can do anything when designing the model, why the FUCK do they choose to put a horrible gap when she bends.

>>
>>10294630
Honestly the range isn't even that good. The problem here is bandai won't/can't copy koto tech.
Their best attempt at a torso was their first, the Rishetta type. Maybe they'll give in like with the wrist joints.

Finished my custom 30MS project - chest from one optional set, legs from another, hair as well, face and ears casted from Green Stuff, arms, feet and jetpack scratchbuilded out of PS. All brushpainted with eyes from Innocentia. 4 months of work total. Okay. I have built... Neverlia... (another fucking name change?)

So, with the twins bandai tried to introduce a bunch of new tech into the line, purpose being that it would add additional poseability to the kits. It did not work at all, and the twins wound up having the worst movement of the line so far.

Neverlia (being much larger than the twins) gets a lot more room to work the new waist in and also has a redesigned midriff block, where the joint is essentially the shoulder cups from most modern gundam hgs. It technically works quite well, only issue being that the edges of the hexagonal section on her belly get caught on each other and can cause severe gouging of the extremely soft bandai plastic. The upper torso range is absolutely nuts, and can bend almost 90° forward, but at the cost of a 90° cavity opening up where the upper body once was. Fortunately, though they still have a bit of trouble getting strait out in front of her, the legs a much better than last time, not getting hung out quite as badly.

All in all her articulation can basically allow her to bend so far forward that her head can actually go between her legs. Unfortunately the cost is that her back looks absolutely ridiculous.

She has pom ankles, elbows, and wrists. They work just fine. They squeak.

If I had to place her among the 30ms releases she is dead center. Not counting Alka and Far, she is worse than Richetta an Luluce, but better than Taisha and the twins. She is not horrible, but she has a bunch of weaknesses that greatly detract from an otherwise decent package.

I hate the way bandai did her hair articulation. The sides are fine but the back looks like she has a mullet tacked on the back of her head.

Neverlia was nice enough to hold Chaser's limbless body for a picture.

The lack of limbs is shit. The fact this set uses the new Neverlia heel feet means you HAVE to get another Neverlia to use the full set. On the other hand, this is probably the best option body from the perspective of what comes in the box. You get a faceless quadruple amputee.

The joints are fine. Slightly less hip movement than Neverlia, something I failed to mention in my prior post is that the Neverlia joints (while not as good in general as Rishetta) along with the shape of the parts around give these two quite decent combine twisting movement.

There is no stand hole in her lower back. Why.

Then use a better shipping method next time cuz that's the norm for surface mail.
There's a reason why I pay 7k~12k just for shipping.

At least they don't lie to you about getting stock.
USAGS fuckin made me wait a whole year and still didn't get the kit in stock and tried to lie to me saying "manufacturer" delayed it.
Checked up with the manufacturer themselves and nope. They're not even gonna make the kit.
Had to go through paypal and force them to refund me.
Used them for years, and poof. Banned.

Have fun waiting forever lol
>>
>>10302227
Yeah me too

Seems I didn't get her either. I think I'll just cancel all my 30ms pre-orders from HLJ. It's fucking scummy that they can't even tell you how many orders they will able to fulfill.

Like, I could've ordered from BBTS but because I ordered from HLJ on day 1 and they kept offering pre-orders I thought I would get her. Now it's not available on BBTS either. Fuck HLJ
>>
>>10303478
>You get a faceless quadruple amputee

That's next level of fetish material.
>>
>>10303720
Chaser doesn't feel right with bare limbs. Maybe just the arms, but unatmored legs doesn't seem right for her.

Now, the "lewd" combo of Chaser and Evil with all the flesh parts making the strap top yeah, that would work fine with flesh limbs especially if you swap the thighs to flesh Rishetta versions.
>>
>>10303861
I mean, this is not unexpected in terms of waiting, as SAL was estimated to take between 1-4 months. Normally it takes two months for SAL in my experience, with my previous order from HLJ (three Snail Shell TIWAZ units; a commander and two mass production, and two of the Gun Girl Lady figures) arrived in under a month.

And I get you had a bad experience with USAGS, since I recall hearing that story before, but again that hasn't been my experience with them. Only had one SNAFU happen years ago where they only shipped part of my order when both kits were in stock, but one phone call later with proof and they immediately shipped the second kit out while waiving the shipping cost.

that's more expensive and consider harder to build than gunpla lol, try sd gundam kits instead of hg kits
>>
>>10307710
Minis aren't that expensive when you think about it. For painting practise you only need single set, WH40k basic squads with 10 or so minis can be found for 30€ or something. Minis are actually good in a sense that you finish them quickly, practicing more than with some Gundam or plastic girl that could take week or two.

Of course that's for brush painting - air brush would require bigger model than some 28mm minis. And there are always cheap and simple plane or tank models.

What's wrong with the original design? Okawara is arguably the greatest mecha designer of all time.

Not sure what you're reading from this, but he's just asking whether the kit will actually be tan or if the pictures just make look it is. Clearly he wants it to be tan.

Nigger.

Are the Pre-owned models in amiami good or complete?
>>
>>10310082
preowned just means the box has been sat unopened in some guy's box fort for a few months or years
>>
>>10310082
Pretty much what >>10310114 said. I've never bought a model kit used but I got a few statues & action figures in the past and they're pretty much always in near perfect condition with a scuffed box unless it says otherwise in the description.

>>
>>10310658
that's what it's gotta be, the entire 30mx line is just copying koto. 30mm is their take on fa, 30ms is their take on fag/md, so logically continuing on from that 30mf is going to be their take an arcanadea

Question

Does Volk's JP online store ship oversea (not the US) if I order this kit from their japanese website?

I thought local import/exporters would have the thing for preorder but it has been a week and nothing happen. Usually with other stuff like Koto's kits you would literally have the pre-order pages up as soon as the Japanese's in the same day.
>>
>>10309600
no but i tried ur mom last nite and her pussy was WET DOE. i do big cums.
>>
>>10310758
Pretty sure Volks JP does ship worldwide. It's only by EMS or DHL though, can be pretty pricy.
>>
>>10310758
yes, i've bought fss kits from their jp store in the uk
>>10310781
they seem to ship to me via dhl even if i pay the lower ems price. really weird but i'm not complaining
>>
>>10310758
They send me my Cosmos to East Europe.
If they can ship to my shithole they for sure can send it to you.
>>
>>10310932
What much was the shipping if you don't mind me asking and for how long?

I am literally next to Japan I should able to guess a proper shipping price
>>
>>10310726
Nevaria is halfway there
>>
>>10310726
I think it's probably just going to be fantasy style mecha in a similar vein to the spinatio/a variants with the samurai/knight/vampire motif, but more integrated with the kits.

Maybe something like a danazine or even the amplified blue eyes white dragon and the like.

I just hope the fantasy elements don't equal obvious organic parts.
>>
How long does it usually take for Muscuto to send out orders?
>>
>>10311592
I'm kind of expecting them to release a dragon or horse themed kit, with the latter having obvious usage for making centaurs. There's no real reason why that couldn't be in the 30MS line, but it'd still be neat to see either way.

>>
>>10312595
Rishetta, or Alka. Luluce if those are not available. The Taisha body is quite bad.

Neverlia is also fine, very standard generally.
>>
>>10312661
What's the best replacement body/torso for Taisha, like color and engineering wise?
>>
>>10310998
January of 2022 shipping costed me 2,950yen.
>>
>>10312661
Why exactly you don't like Taisha body? Is it because of small size makes it appear odd?
>>
>>10312923
lol someone hasn't seen the pics
>>
>>10312923
The torso “crunch” leaves a pretty glaring gap on the back of the figure. And the pelvis joint is also happy when put into any non-neutral pose. The limbs are fine, but the torso is a pretty substantial part of the figure and a major percentage of the price. Don’t know if the alt Taisha bodies are any better or worse, but it’s not MG-tier (don’t own a FAG so I can’t argue that point).

I would argue that back issue is shared with other bodies as well. What worries me, in general with 30MS, that joints seems to get "stuck" when not moved for day or two. I constantly worry that I could break them by trying to move again.

The plastic definitely feels like it "sticks", that's how I snapped the neck on my first gen Rishetta but doing a tiny bit of sanding plus the redesigned neck fixes this problem

The neck problem stemmed from a molding flaw causing the ball to be larger than it should.

The combination of this flaw, bandai's soft plastic, the unflexing socket, and the small size of a structural point made for the perfect storm of breakable necks.

I always forget Rishetta didn't come with her armor...

Newer MDs. Or older MD with the MSG Top/Bottom
>>
>>10313739
Yeah and its been close to 3 years since they posted that.
>>
>>10313788
I do wish they would develop some decent adapters for 30MM limbs. Those thigh extensions only feel proportional with the legs in pic related, everything else is very wonky.
>>
>>10313817
Nah the joint was joint was also thinner and they added a cut out to the hole in the head so it also wasn't as tight. I can probably take some comparison pics when I get home
>>
>>10313797
I did the sanding for torso and arms sockets but it still gets stuck when not moved, normally it goes pretty smooth. Why it happens in first place?
>>
Got my first Frame Arms Girl in today and quickly put her together. I added the little jacket to the order on an impulse and I’m really glad I did, it fits a lot better than I expected.

>Newer MDs
Which are considered newer? Is bullet knight exorcist (white and blue one) one of them?
>>
>>10314334
The AGA girls and Susanowo (Baselard and the Bullet Knights are transitional, while Arnval is retro-plus). They have the newer shoulders and the improved Materia-style thigh swing joint; Baselard's shoulders need a little sanding due to resistance, the second-wave Bullet Knights have improved shoulders over the ASRA girls but not the latest tech although they DO have the new thicc thighs, and Arnval uses Classic Shinki swing hip pegs and single-jointed knees, although she has latest-tech shoulders and seems to be the testbed for Block II torso block construction.
>>
>>10313897
What about chinese kits, how are they compared to MDs? I'm thinking about Nuke Matrix Rabbit pr Siren kits, and MS General's biker girl or that Ox smithy girl
>>
>>10314334
I believe the new thighs started on Exorcist/Executioner, while the new shoulders started on the releases after them.
>>
>>10314382
Nuke Matrix is decent, with very uhhh "similar" tech to MD.
>>
>>10314382
They're OK but machinika-based bodies have the best poseability. MD, Chicoterium, and Dark Advent
>>
I've heard that Vlocker's fiore kits are all really bad, is that true?
>>
>>10316264
The early ones are. Iris was the turning point and even that had some joint problems but I think they're good now. Still not at the level of Koto though.
