Thanks to the new movie we will see new toys, are you excited?
>>10230392>movie toys
>>10230392No i'm anti excited. I never cared for D&D. Tabletop games are overrated. The movie will just be a copy or lord of the rings. I have zero interest. The figures all have massive qc issuesFurther releasing toys for D&d is stupid because the game is for teens, and teens don't buy toys
>>10230432Actually D&D is barely for teens anymore, and more for 30+ year old deviants from the portland area. Hippies don't have money. These toylines are going to fail hard, and no kids are going to want them.
>>10230392I don't care about the movie but those dice monsters are pretty nice and look like fun desk toys to me.
>dice roll turns into literal boss fightThis is pretty cool
>>10230432>The movie will just be a copy or lord of the rings. It looks like a Guardians of the Galaxy clone instead.
>>10230392D&D is a dead brand in a few months. Hasbro CEO is a fucking idiot and nose diving the entire company. Higher prices, worsening quality of their products is not how you grow a company. And it's all across the board too.
>>10230528Because Guardians of the Galaxy totally invented the trope right?Shut the fuck up.
>>10230536what trope? why are you so angry?
>>10230536You're already stupid. You can't afford to be a dickhead as well. Rein it in, puffy.
>>10230577
>>10230589Forgot to mention these are priced $13.99 per figure. I don't know how big these are supposed to be.
>>10230594
>>10230594Look at that chonky boy in the art. It looks nothing like the figure.
>>10230598damn they didn't even try to match the colors
>>10230536lol, you fucking retard
Super 7 is doing Reaction D&D figures. from their Instagram post on the weekend:>> will feature and be based on the classic art from your favorite D&D player's literature! Rolling out this summer!
>>10230609I should have sworn I saw those in a video a toy youtuber was doing at a toy convention. They even showed off a gelantinous cube that came that your figure can fit in it like a case and came with accessories.I'll have to try and find it again.
>>10230624Did you mean this? It's on Hasbro Pulse but doesn't come with a figure.
>>10230634Yep that's exactly it.
Welp, I found the peg warmer
NECA's Advanced D&D line is making it out and they're excellent.
>>10230649>Not making sure the barbarian broad is sexyWhat's even the fucking point then!?!!??
>>10230652
>>10230654That looks like a greasy Italian mobster
>>10230655He looks like a character you would get if you pressed "randomize" when making a character in a video game.
>>10230649>picture: hot>figure: notTypical american product
>>10230660Don't insult my Dick Tracy figures like that
Peg warmer number 2. I can't get over they're asking $25 per figure with this kind of quality.
THIS is $28 meaning for just $3 more you can buy something to shoot at your kids with.
This is $17
This one is $12
>>10230661To be fair, that’s how good gear in D&D works pretty much.
These are the game pieces for the Dungeons and Dragons Monopoly set.
Gelantinous Cube$34Doesn't come with figure but their Golden Archive D&D figure does fit inside it to make it look like it's being eaten. It comes with 14 accessories. So I'm kinda on the fence about this because I like the idea and it'd be a good way to hide the shit quality of the figures but at the sametime I'd have to shell out a total of around $60.I could probably just buy a peg warmer later and use it and save a few bucks.
>>10230699
>>10230701Pic of one of figures in it.
>>10230699Is it online only or will it shelf warm in stores cause I kinda want it too
>>10230709I haven't seen on any sites of it mentioning exclusive only online. I even just checked hasbro and it doesn't say exclusive.
11 inch glow in the dark mimic plush$35
>>10230714gelatinous cube glow in the dark plush8 inches tall, the accessories can be removed from the cube (which is pretty neat)I'm a sucker for this one because I see practical use to it as well.
>>10230718This will be $40 btw
>>10230684These are pewter recasts of miniatures you can buy currently, i have two of these .
>>10230649>>10230654>>10230667Looks like Hasbro accidentally put the figures for Mutts & Mazes inside the Dungeons & Dragons packaging.
To be clear, pic related is their original mimic plushThis one is 7 1/2 inches $16.99 (though seems to be sold out where I'm looking but it says restocking soon)So you might want to go after the movie version since I'm assuming they'll stop doing those after the movie is done with. The cube and the 11 inch mimic are being branded specifically for the movie.>>10230721Any idea of the cost? like would it be cheaper to buy the monopoly game for $45?
This is being marketed for the movie.13 inches$35He definitely does not leave his basement.
Marketed for the movie and the most cheapest plush. Owlbear7 inches$17Looks more like a owlion
>>10230744Take it back same size and price as this.Marketed for movie7 inches$17I had no idea a displacer was going to be in it until I just came across this. Not sure if it was in the trailer I only saw it once.
>>10230649>>10230654And you better HOPE the figure looks this "good" inside the box.
>>10230746If anyone was on the fence about getting the movie displacer plush, this is their normal displacer. It says this is 1/2 inch taller but I don't think it is. But it's also priced the same as the movie version.Honestly, I'd go with the movie version, choker is pretty cool.
>>10230649Peg warmer? You are talking about the whole assortment, right?
>>10230771I was making the joke how female characters are usually the ones left in the aisles but also yes.
The cult classic Dungeons and Dragons cartoon 40th anniversary figures will be released around the same time too.Apparently each figure comes with "exclusive dice". The prices of these vary from site to site so be cautious when you want to get your hands on these.
>>10230794
>>10230795
>>10230801
>>10230795>>10230801>>10230807I just noticed the dice are d12, d4 and d20. That's a nice touch.
>>10230812Shit i mean d8 not d4
I didn't know minimates were still a thing but this set is coming out spring/summer this year for $45
Hasbro really fucked up in this first wave for the movie figures by not including this qt tiefling chick, not even the bard guy or knight guy.
>>10230848They'd just butcher her face, you know that.
>>10230392This has got to be the most retarded gimmick possible. The figures of the actors are terrible and boring as well. >>10230654The cube >>10230699 uses highly stylized and cartoonish accessories for some reason,a really shit looking color and construction method that makes it look like a cheap plastic ice cube, and only has one stand inside for one figure. The plush are the only items that are decent, and that's because Hasbro isn't making them. What a embarrassing line.
>>10230888You didn't even like the 40th anniverary D&D cartoon figures? Also I think the dice turning into a monster is cool
Anyone know if NECA's figures are in scale to Hasbro's?
>>10230895NECA always runs larger, usually 7 inch scale, humanoid figs will look too big next to hasbro stuff, but if they make any monsters those would probably be fine
>>10230895Ahhhh, you can fudge it, but they're definitely larger scale.
>>10230893Those are ok, but weirdly inaccurate for some reason. Not much effort put in on Hasbro's part.
>>10230392>all this standard D&D shit>Dragonlance gets no good merchGaayyy
>>10230929I don't know man, these seem way more appealing than the movie ones by a long shot. I don't know what you collect or your budget is but I the cartoon ones look fine.
>>10230931What are you wanting regarding Dragonlance?
>>10230794Tons of people are having problems with the Hasbro D&D figures, so be careful with them.
>>10230942
>>10230945
>>10230946
>>10230938Draconians, Raistlin and Caramon, Kitiara or Verminaard with highlord helmet, Tanis, Sturm, Soth, to name the most desired off the top of my head. Raist, Tanis, and a highlord being my top three.
>>10230980Well the problem is normies have no idea what the fuck you just said. See the problem?
>>10230983Okay. Didn't ask.
>>10230983>See the problem? The problem is the fact that Hasbro has one of the most popular fantasy series ever made and did nothing with it for decades. Just kept as a book series and left to dry out while they focused on selling Magic cards, which they also didn't bother to cross over as a toyline or anything else.
>>10231044>which they also didn't bother to cross over as a toyline or anything else. They have made mtg toys though
>>10230980>>10231044The only chance for Dragonlance merch is a movie adaptation of the main books and I'm sure that would suck monkey balls, so I'd rather have nothing if that means they don't make a mockery out of the books.
>>10231050There's no pleasing people
>>10231055I mean Drizzt got a new figure. Idk whether that line was cancelled but it is possible to see non mainline D&D characters get afigure or two. I agree though a film adaptation is sometging I would rather not see in this day and age. Enough franchises have been bastardized by hollywood as is.
>>10231047Hasbro didn't make Magic toys.Funko made MTG toys, because Hasbro didn't want to for decades. Of course, they were absolutely shit, which no doubt made Hasbro think they were correct in making nothing at all.Cross promotion and multimedia was a complicated mystery for them. They had to be egged on by smarter companies, but once those companies left, they were stumped and left confused, holding onto their properties, wondering why they no longer am going.Hasbro basically works at making happy accidents and riding the coat tails of other companies.
>>10231063That was such a random ass release.
>>10230392they remind me of bakugan
>>10230919I mean, the DnD cartoon cast are kids.
>>10230807>>10230929Is it just me or does she look significantly younger as a figure than she did in the cartoon?
>>10231383It really depends who was drawing those lines that day I think.
>>10231415>file name>not AfrobatC'mon dude, you were almost there.
>>10230929I have her, the lack of a thigh swivel hurts a lot. She is cute though.
>>10230649>>10230654Looks like the Scorpion King. kek
They could have put out figures based on art from the books, but nooooooooo, they wanna take designs from the crap looking movie that has the aesthetics of the 99 one with all the soul drained from it.
>>10233478Like Lidda, the sexiest halfling that ever hobbited
>>10230655Kevin Mask?
>>10234621Appreciate anything Kinnikuman, but it doesn't look anything like Kevin or Robin... the only similarity is the blue helmet which looks nothing alike.
uhh sweaty buying WOTC merchandise is NOT COOL right now okay?
>>10233482piercings, tribal tattoos and limb proportions not at all consistent with those of a halfling.absolutely DISGUSTING
>>10230709>>10230711I saw a few of these at target so it’s definitely not an online exclusive
>>10233482ah yes, I often pose next to rocks while pulling down my pants. totes natural
>>10234745Have you seen other figs i the wild? the dice monsters?
>>10230432>>10230434Holy shit you're actually retarded.
I picked up the 3 classic cartoon kids, but haven't seen Venger in the store yet, and he disappeared off the Target website?
>>10235117She's actually pulling her pants up and hitting the button on the top to flush the toilet
>>10235394I have seen the movie figures, the cartoon figures and one diceling (rakor) thus far.
>>10230942>>10230945>>10230946Man, I wish I checked this thread before I hamhanded my own lil Amazon girl. Snapped that elbow clean off. If I knew they were going to be this fragile I would've given them a hot water bath. I got both her and the archer dude and truth be told...they're not good figures. They look nice, like they just stepped out of the cartoon. But their articulation and overall feel is just awful. Stiff joints that are apparently also very brittle. Hard plastic skirts and tunic hampering articulation. Weak grips for their boring ass weapons (which I expected), and the archer only has one gripping hand and can't even actually two hand his bow. He also has no details under his cowl piece so you can't just rip that off to free up his arms. I'm usually a huge fan of Hasbro's stuff, their Drizzt was one of my favorite figures the year he came out. But these guys are bottom of the barrel, closer to their Overwatch figures or cheaper Marvel Legends then the fantastic Fortnite or Classified lines. For an in-house brand, and the launch of said brands new toyline, these are a sad showing. I'm going to try and fix my Amazon girl, because I do like her as a figure, but I'll be a lot more hesitant to buy any more of these guys. >>10230980Man, I don't know much about actual D&D Lore, but I do know I love me some fantasy figures. If they put out a good ol Valkyrie girl or that gaudy armored knight, I don't think I could pass on em.
>>10233482good lord! what age rating does this have?
>>10239003Aurora borealis.
>>10230676>>10230674>>10230670These are actually pretty bad ass. And the way the crossbow's tail wraps around the forearm is tight af. I'd love to see these all painted up.
>>10230392legally distinct bakugan, I guess if you really like D&D and want a novelty to fiddle with at the desk it's fine but outside of that niche I don't see the market.

>>10240741You're right anon no one else should be allowed to make transforming nick knacks.
>>10235472I've seen the case at work but it hasn't been stocked yet, case just said animated characters or something similarly generic. Maybe they'll be out in the next week or so.

>>10240757Looks like typical regurgitated modern Hollywood crap that follows the Marvel formula.

>>10240927this shit makes me laugh so fucking hard, but it also makes me really fucking depressed people will buy it.wotc/hasbro has been trying to sell 5 packs of kobolds for 40-60 dollars when there's cheaper alternatives literally e v e r y w h e r e.They're specifically preying on new players ignorance to scalp them. You can get 50 orcs and dwarves from em4 for 20 dollars. you can get a bucket of reaper bones for the same. you can get OODLES of mage knight figures on ebay for literal cents./toy/ is out of the loop but wotc has been more out of the loop for years now. their merch sucks not just because its low quality but because its so expensive.
BBTS has Grimsword in stock. I've slowly been seeing the Hasbro D&D stuff at Target. Only one peg for the movie figures...which is pathetic. But I mean, probably smart, too, since that movie's going to stink things up pretty bad.

The dragon is a great design. The paint is lacking compared to the equivalent Mcfarlane megafig. The wings are great but they cheaped out on the head legs and tail. Mattel would have done a lot more with the same budget. Overall it wins because Mcfarlane didn’t articulate his dragons. He saved his A team for Avatar for some reason.

>>10279968Really, that's grayish blue.Back in the 80's, remember, the animators had to paint those cells by hand, and believe it or not, they did not have ALL that much choice available. They can't exactly paint a metallic shine on his chainmail so they picked the most "grey adjacent" color they had, which just so happened to be that bluish tone. Not to mention any miniature painter that does non-metallic-metal (painting metal bits without using metallic paints, but rather normal acrylics) does, at some point, use blue between the black and the light grey when painting silver.I understand your point but it was always "meant" to be shiny silver.

>>10282013I like the horsey.
>>10235117she's comparing the mark just under the middle of the statue to the matching one tattooed onto her hip.
>>10279780Now this one is just really bad, even by the standards of this line.
>>10230392Bakugan?
>>10230432>The movie will just be a copy or lord of the rings. The tone looks way lighter. More Marvel-esque.
>>10279782which figure comes with a d20? and yes. there is some retard that cares about the dice. i am that retard. retarded like a fox
>>10281345>another figure with a vinyl skirt barf
>>10281345i have been looking for cheap wizards to add to my squads. how much will this guy cost? under 20?
Worth it?
>>10283263No, those only fold and unfold by the look of it.Bakugan are spring-loaded and magnet-activated, and open themselves up.>>10282923Hell if I know. That's also not the greyish blue from the cartoon, it's just "blue". By the looks of it, the same blue as the bad guy's helmet from the pic above. My guess is they just reused the same paint there too.
>>10279968Although I agree that it should be a shade or 2 darker, I'm ok with it being silver.>>10279780I plan on getting this smug pos. Probably the only one I'm looking forward to.I did pick up Diana recently. Her and Bobby were the only ones on the pegs at the time. I don't mind the paint style they chose. It lends itself well to the cartoon look.Just wish the line either had better articulation or was like 5 bux cheaper.
Has anyone picked up the gelatinous cube? I've been thinking about getting it. Pros? Cons?
>>10276536By domestic, do you mean Japan or America?
>>10288974I got it and it's stupid. It's just plastic and doesn't dissolve anything. Don't get it.
>>10288974This has to be one of the biggest toy fuck ups I've ever seen. The same exact company did a better looking shimmery cube with their cosmic cube release just a little earlier. Both the design and execution of this are horrible. Should have had a sculpt that looked a bit more slimy or like melting candle wax, with fewer pieces so it doesn't look like a snap together box. Add in something cool like a skeleton figure to stick in the center. You're welcome hasblow.
>>10288974>consIt looks like shit.the accessories are a cartoony style and look like shit.only has one stand inside.>prosIt is a mystery.
>>10288974You could go buy some plastic Tupperware from the dollar store along with random trinkets to hot glue onto the sides and achieve the same quality as this.
>>10289407>>10289413>>10289844>>10289854Got it. Don’t buy it lmao.
>>10230392Nice
>>10290129Does anyone like these?
>>10283371Twenty-five
>>10290144I may want to grab the dragons. The rest don't look too interesting. I've previously said if they were just regular articulated creatures I'd be much more inclined.
>>10230714>11 inch glow in the dark mimic plushNeat>$35 smackeroosLmao get the fuck out.
>>10290144I own Rakor and Themberchaud, and I actually really like them. Decent articulation in dragon mode, curling them up into dice mode is satisfying enough, and they pair well with my 30 or so Beast Boxes as desktop buddies; I'm planning on grabbing the white one and inevitable one of Palarandusk (the gold dragon) if they make him.
>>10290144>>10291021If they didn't retail for the equivalent of $20usd here in the UK, I'd be buying them all.
>>10290144i would like the beholder but i've never seen them in any store. I'd also just like an actual normal fucking toy of a beholder with some flailing tentacles or a moving eye or some shit but hasbro is fucking retarded.
Golden Archive Owlbear!
>>10293322
>>10293327better pic
>>10293334detes
>>10293337$45?? Yea gonna just wait for that one to hit clearance. Fuck that.
>>10293327Doesn't look amazing, but it's a creature and it looks pretty fun. Going to keep an eye on it for sure.
>>10293578It's got to be less that $12 if Hasbro want me to play gacha on these broken or not broken in package figures.
>>10290144My fucking normie friend does, and I hate that he does. I need toy friends (irl).
>>10283357It was Diana, you can see it here >>10230807
I saw the classic figs at Walmart for the first time. Not sure if I wanna get the dragon yet, and I have no interest in the movie figures.
>>10293322>>10293327>>10293334>>10293337This looks pretty cool, with decent articulation that makes me wonder why the dragon couldn't have it that good too.
>>10259701To this day I still regret all those times I passed this badass up while at TRU. I kept "waiting for a sale" and it never came, these guys never got any kind of discount because they were too awesome to be sold for cheap.I did get the new D&D dragon, but he's too....flat. I don't mind the 5 PoA (more would've been nice) but he is just way too skinny to really be intimidating. But he'll still make a good mount for any number of my fantasy figures.>>10280655It's almost absurd how much the quality dropped from this guy to the animated figures. Drizzt was one of the best figures to come from Hasbro in a long time while the animated D&D guys are probably some of the worst I've handled. I would've picked up the whole team, but after finding out the archer guy can't actually arch and then having my amazon girl's arm snap right off (she now has a skeleton arm), I'm pretty much done with the line......maybe I'll grab the red head, I could always use a cute ginger rogue in my collection. I don't know the quality of the movie figures yet though so I can't really complain about them. And I know you're being sarcastic about a line "full of civilians"...but I actually do want some generic fantasy people for my villains to bully about so I think these guys are great. I do hope we see more actual adventurers though, but I don't know much about established D&D characters to care about specific ones. >>10289413It's like the accessories were made for the animated figures, yet the cube itself is (barely) based on the movie version. If the accessories were more realistic it'd be a worthwhile accessory pack, or maybe it had a full skeleton figure you could take apart or something. But with the weird cartoon gear and that awful cube, this set is just bad.
>>10302267This line is DOA. All the qc issues helped sink it faster than ever.
>>10307613.....well they made the whole main cast and the main humanoid villain, so it's not like it had many places left to go. I'm sure the movie line will stick around for a bit, and hopefully after that a classic D&D line of some kind. Ideally, they'd make a line of classic mosters as D&D is one of those franchises where the monsters are more important than the heroes. But I doubt Hasbro would have the balls to run a toyline of all monsters.
>>10230654>if only you knew how bad it was
>>10240757modern fantasy sucks so much dick man. Im starting to sincerely reminisce over shit like hansel and gretel and snow white and the huntsmen over the drivel being spat out now.
>>10307844True, Shadow Demon and Tiamat are the only other recurring characters from the cartoon, one would be tricky to make a toy of, the other would need to be a huge Haslab project. It's possible they could make toys of some generic monsters or of one-off villains from specific episodes, but if they were planning that, they'd probably have put some in the first two waves. It probably is planned to be an 80s nostalgia line that's just those two waves and nothing else.
>>10308761Don't forget the bullywugs.
>>10246395lol no one would ever be that stoked about that fucking dragon. anybody giving WOTC money for this garbage should really think twice
>>10230392man they really leaning into the toys, i haven't seen so many d&d in normal shops in ever
>>10290144I got the beholder and I'm impressed with the level of detail. I'm looking forward to the displacer beast.
>>10293322My retarded ass thought the owlbear was on a skateboard at first glance and I didn't even question it
>>10307613Saw Diana on clearance at Target today, next to a sea clearance Girl-Hawkeye.
>>10302267I wish Diana were more on model. She just feels like she has a big diaper on, specially in hand. And barely has a waist. I guess they did okay on her face considering though.
>>10276536it actually had a lot to do with the arcade game.
I simp for these
Need a Neca Lord Soth like you wouldn't believe.
I wish Hasbro was making a Thumberchud or whatever his name is. That huge fat fucking dragon is a big want.
>>10230392Yes
Line's called Dungeons and Dragons. One dragon shampoo bottle item released. Ignoring QC issues, it is never a surprise when this happens. These companies always focus on the dullest characters in their IPs. Look at marvel legends for example.
>>10318641There's tons and tons of creatures that would make great toys...
>>10318641Lets hope film is a success
