Its strange indeed that all 10 khorne berzerkers are getting released when normal rank and file chaos marines were limited to like 6 of the original squad- the fact that we have no special weapons member or heavy weapons member is sorely missed.
>>
Think there's going to be any Black Friday week sales for JoyToys? Wondering if I ought to hold off from getting anything until then.
>>
>>10128405
What makes you think that they are getting all 10? Because of the chart? You know that that thing has always shown complete units as they are as miniatures, but joytoy will often pick one or a few to make, so most likely they will only make like 3 tops of those berserkers.
Chaos legionaries only got 5 troops, with 1 hq and 3 terminators. Berserkers could be anywhere from 3 individual releases to 5, or even a 4 pack.

I eagerly await the day a Kabalite Warrior figure is made.
>>
>>10128598

Havocs pretty much got the entire squad sans the Autocannon, which is also strange.

Like why not stick the landing?
>>
God, I wish Joytoy would slow down with the releases so I can buy everything I want at a reasonable price.
>>
>>10129129
I think the only reason why they're shitting them out so fast is because they've only got the license for 2 years.
>>
>>10129142
Meanwhile it takes Figma like 4 years to go from prototype to release. If it isn’t silently cancelled first.
>>
>>10129129
>>10129142
>>10129179

JoyToy has released ten years worth of other toylines in a year and a half. And they are actually good.
>>
>>10128421
There’s one kinda going on with AliExpress. The 11.11 sale is still going on and you can still get good discounts on stuff. Also if you use cently or other coupon saving extensions you can accumulate more savings. Manage to grab a fire warrior set for around 75 USD
>>
>>10129142

Really?? Holy shit, they need to renew them, if GW doesn't they are clearly retarded.
>>
>>10129273
you just made a very convincing argument for why they won't...
>>
>>10129021
They made the guys on the box, hence no autocannon nor chaingun, either. But havoks seems to show that joytoys squad size is 5 tops, likely because they each had slightly varying sculpts, and large, distinct weapons.
Technically, aggressors and inceptors are the minimum number of dudes to make a legal unit, and the crusader squad is almost there with 4 Marines, and the one sword brother, all it needs now is one more marine plus 4 initiates/scouts.

Still doesn't imply berserkers will get all 10. Since they all have two of either chainsword, chainaxe, bolt, or plasma pistol, it's most likely that they will have a 4 pack with some combination of the wargear stated above.

Also, I just realized that there are no tau drones...
>>

>$75 for Fire Warrior set
Dude! What store? Flyima?
>>
>>10129219
The sale got way worse as time went on. The Spend and Save was bumped down to 3 off 30 from 5 off, all the good coupons are gone. I wonder if there will be anything good on the 11/11 proper.
>>
>>10128405
They are absolutely not getting all 10. The further the chart gets the less accurate it gets in terms of individual units. If you see an entire squad of miniatures it's guaranteed to just be placeholders.

or just send them a DM saying you want to change your pre orders around then do whatever

Nope Jtoy Resin. I used the cently extension to add more savings.
>>10129874
They have to approve the refund. But I've done it many times and it takes less than 48 hours for them to close the order. I did to all my GK preorders because I saved a lot more with the 11.11 sale. If you ever find better deals on your pre-orders cancel and order again.

Just got my frode figure, the wolf's articulation is extremely limited, but it's better than a statue I guess! Frode himself looks pretty good, and I really like the shield, even though it's a little different from the promo pics. They used the 2.0 joints on him and he is a bit shorter than a 2.0 primaris marine. Overall, really pleased with this release, CANNOT wait for the BT squad.
>>
>>10130971
He doesn't come with that helmet by the way, just a spare that I bought off of someone.
>>
>>10130971

How do the firstborn and primaris scale to one another?
>>
>>10130521
>>10130568
Look a bit crap desu, not Joytoy's fault, they're just a silly design. Pass.
>>
>>10130391
Hopefully they see that they gotta lower the shoulder placement, cuz being horizontal to the head is just silly. Kinda hard to tell by looking at the mini, but allarus termites have a lot of pauldron hiding the shoulder joint and making up the majority of the silouette, and the armpit is just barely visible at the bottom. Looks like they gotta make them a bit stubbier, too, to get the proportions just right.
Hopefully they fix these issues or allarus will be a pass for me.
Sisters are looking really good, and I was planning on skipping them, but if they sell individually and not as a set, I will likely bite for just one.
>>
I just nabbed my first Marine. It's pretty neat, but am I wrong in assuming I'll need the hair dryer for the wrist joints? The hands' plastic seems pretty hard and it's a pain to get the joints to pop in.
>>
Are the 2.0s still worth picking up? I’ve been slow because I’m anxious the rubber pieces that hold the shoulder pads to the shoulders have been faring. Has anybody run into any issues?

They're unfortunately not to scale with the 1.0 marines (just like the chaos figures). The firstborn and the 1.0 marines are the same height, but the 2.0s are a bit taller, just not as much as they should be according to the fluff I think. It looks like the firstborn's legs and chest are shorter than the 1.0's but the abdomen is longer.

I'm particularly curious about what to make of AliExpress preorder prices before JoyToy even has their own preorder listings to compare with.
>>
>>10131980
There were reissues when GW got the first wave for retail, but it doesn't seem like they'll be doing that going forward, they're so far behind now. There was also a bladeguard 2.0 reissue recently, but that was just them using up spare parts, the tilting shield doesn't even peg into the chest, you have to blu-tack it up there if you want it in the right place.
>>
>>10132010
Joytoy's listings always come before the aliexpress ones, but they're just for the chinese market (taobao, tmall, etc). All the ones you see listed for the international market are from 3rd party vendors. Pretty sure GW's site was supposed to be the intended way of getting them (almost similar prices to china), but they seem to have stopped due to poor sales or not wanting the figures to compete with miniature sales. I'm assuming sales were low because it took fucking 6 months to get your figures from them, and there was a serious lack of advertisement.
>>
>>10132202
Yeah their sale through their own website was atrocious, as you had only a single week to buy them, and they took 6+ months to actually get to you. They also took forever to list the second wave and on because beyond the initial Phobos armor wave, they took too long to list the invictor, librarian, and first two intercessor sets, meanwhile everybody that was interested had found the many other websites to buy the rest of the wave faster than GW was willing to list them.
At this point GW is gonna have to start including exclusive pieces to get us to buy from them lol
>>
>>10132393
It’s crazy how much the Chinese market pays compared to us. Some of the stuff are cheaper than western toys like star wars TVC and they barely come with any thing
>>
Are the Furioso Dread's fingers articulated? They look like they are but don't feel like it.
>>
>>10132406
Yeah they are, just the one point on each though. They were pretty tight when I first got it so maybe a drop of some shock oil in them, though I just wiggled and forced them.
>>
>>10132404
shipping + 3rd parties trying to make money off of these sales are really hurting the prices for us
>>
>>10132404
I tried ordering some directly from a chinese website (taobao), and shipping cost me 30 bucks for 2 figures, it sucks.
>>
>>10132404
>>10132427
What's an example of a price comparison between the Chinese and international markets? It looks like you can't even browse Taobao or Tmall without an account.
>>
>>10132417
Oh, cool. The dreadnought ended up being way cooler than I thought it was gonna be. I expected it to just be a big space filler behind the rest of my BAs, and it ended up being my fave.
>>
>>10132427
>>10132451
Why are you trying to use Taobao for this? They don't really cater to International customers so you're either forced to use a middleman, or Taobao's own built-in middleman service (which of course does cost money to use too).

Use Aliexpress instead. It's dirt fucking cheap. I just bought an Intercessor there recently (before the 11/11 sales/coupons started up even!) for $25 shipped, that's the exact same price as a new Marvel Legends from Amazon.
>>
>>10132404
I looked into buying from Tmall through a local contact but shipping is the killer.
>>
>>10132455
The BA Furioso is great.
>>
>>10132803
I wasn't considering to buy with foreign currency from a website that doesn't even support English only to pay for exorbitant shipping on top. I just wanted to see what the difference was between Chinese local versus international prices for myself. You know, like how I can easily see the difference between UK and US prices for Warhammer models.
>>
>>10132959
Someone in the last thread posted the Chinese prices and IIRC they were about 30% of what we pay. Of course they don't have to pay for international shipping.
>>
>>10133026
they also get it in like 2 fucking days while I'm still waiting for my USPS tracking info to update lmao fuck me. Give me my fucking BT squad already.

Of course the line is too new to tell for sure, but what do you think about the prospect of recouping costs by selling down the road, whether unopened or used (with box)? As an example, JoyToy lists the $117 Ultramarines Intercessor squad as out of stock. Looking over on eBay for sells, then, it appears to me that it can retain its value even when used.

I'm new to toy-collecting, so I really don't know how this typically goes.
>>
>>10133085
I want to say they would, but people can be autistic about boxes and mine are usually trashed to hell. I wouldn't doubt people here would be more than happy to buy close to retail.
>>
>>10133085
Imma be real with you: this is a fool's game. The toy market is incredibly volatile, and most modern toys do not accrue in value significantly over time.

Consider this. There is like a 0.0001% chance that your toy will be worth a fortune in the future. They are just made in too great a number nowadays, and too many people are out there trying to do the exact same thing you are, which ironically ensures that it won't work. Things simply can't become rare if there are hundreds of mint copies in the wild.
>>
>>10133107
I'm not really concerned with accruing value, but rather simply retaining value in the event that I offload later because of space at home or whatever. I'd feel better about spending hundreds on this AliExpress sale now if I can effectively change my mind on the purchases later.
>>
>>10133127
In that case, probably? Can't say for sure, but I don't see anyone really outdoing JoyToy anytime soon, so these should remain fairly "definitive" feeling for some time I think. The biggest risk would be from JoyToy themselves, if they ever do a "2.0" version of something old, it could potentially tank the value of the older one.

In that weixin promo it looks like they'll only do groups of the 5 nuns and 3 terminators, there is a group price for all 8 together but I guess that's just in China.

Nuns - 8XX RMB
Custodes - 5XX RMB
All together - 13XX RMB

I'd guess, 849, 549 and 1300 or something. Judging by the price that the T'au were advertised at and what they went on CTC just now as (Crisis suits and shadwsun 2XXRMB~£60, fire warriors 3XXRMB~£80) I would say we're looking £120-£130 for the terminators and maybe £180-200 for the sisters at a guess.

I'm trading the two helmed troopers, but swapping the regular pulse gun for a long one (the other guy wanted the two long rifles), so I'm left with the knife guy and the helmet less guy, but with a swapped gun.

On an unrelated note, I've also seen sisters and custodes up on ali, individually! No bundles to worry about, just grab what you want! Sisters are about 50 a piece, with statue bitch being like +$10, and custodes are about 60, which is nice considering the grey knights were about 5-10 more. The shoulders are a tad too high,.but I think I can overlook it and will be getting axe guy. Now to decide which sister I want, mask/melta girl, combi/sword girl, or pistol/sword girl...

Wolves has 2 waves of 4, but.only the first one is strictly a 4 pack, so did you mean that one? Theyre both 1.0 bodies, anyways. Every wolf after is 2.0, I think, and the difference is slight and neither is superior to the other, so it depends on what you value more.
2.0 has a slightly better knee sculpt and slightly better ankle joint (and I really doean slightly). 2.0 arches the abs back better, but 1.0 crunches forward better. 2.0 shoulder is slightly better due to a hunting joint, while 1.0 just has an extending joint, but 2.0 also tends to pop the shoulder out more due to how the pauldron is attached, so 1.0 has a slightly better range to stick the arm out. Most 1.0 also have softer hand materials, which makes swapping and gripping better, but 2.0 has better wrist articulation and hand variety, arguably can swap easier, but grips is inferior due to the material being harder. 2.0 is slightly taller (whenever I said slightly, it's by a millimeter or single degree of a difference)

So in the end, unless one of these is a deal breaker, then it hardly matters and you shouldn't base your decision on this factor.
>>
>>10135271
So weird that they’re throwing their heart and soul into every design. I respect it, I guess they feel like this is maybe the only chance to get this shit right?

Why "trust you?" I have not really been disappointed with any of the 40-odd JoyToyWH figures I have already bought, don't see why things would suddenly change now.
>>
>>10135673
Oof yeah, I was expecting them to be about $10-15 less than that for the size. I was planning to build a little squad, but at these prices I might need to settle for just one or two.
>>
>>10135323
>>10135332
Well they did the invictor as one of their first, and that wasn't the most popular looking unit. I guess maybe at that point people were buying because they didn't know if it'd be the only 40k toy they ever got.
>>
>>10135842
I've never liked the Invictor, but I saw a lot of people buying them even after we got VenDreads, so I guess it does have its fans. Hell, who knows, the baby carrier might even sell well to a non-40k audience, who may just see "cool huge mech suit" without being exposed to the pervasive fandom reputation it carries.
>>
>>10135673
>>10135714
I've only seen that one Aliexpress store with them up for pre-order and the price was a joke. I'm sure they'll be cheaper than that when CTC etc have them up.
>>
>>10135937
Sorry to disappoint you but CTC prices are about the same as other big sellers on Ali. I was actually hoping for something similar to the Black templar and fire warrior box set. Had to buy them all but it was cheaper per figure. Great to start a faction
>>10135842
I remember when JT just started. I was so blown away that we were getting big warhammer robots. Also not many got into W40k so you had limited sellers and always risked of selling out fast. Now its widely available.
>>
>>10135937
That's Firefly dawg, they're a well-known store and their prices are generally around the same as the others. I would not expect a much lower Sister price anywhere else, or you will likely be in for a rude awakening later.

Anybody got pics of the McFarlane Intercessor bucks in these exact poses? Planning to build an Astartes display with them posed like these but I'm debating between getting the existing figures or just waiting (long time based on Todd's release pipeline but I can wait) for the inevitable loyalist Firstborns. Primaris have relatively smaller shoulder pads and more natural proportions in general so I'm wondering if they'd actually look good in these somewhat-hunched-over, linebacker-like poses.
>>

Why are there two Fireflies anyway? Are they related, or is one store imitating the other?

What on earth would make you think this? GW has been working hard as fuck these last few years to erase Firstborns entirely. And they recently blocked the Mk.7 helmets JoyToy sculpted from being sold anywhere outside of China. So I'm not sure why you think you're going to get them.

But anyway, here, this is close enough. Looks almost nothing like your pic IMO, Primaris are lanky fuckers and lack all the thicc squatness of Firstborns.

If you get one to be, like, Da Oldest Wun or something, since they're like ten inches tall. If I remember correctly, Orks just keep getting bigger as they age and can theoretically get as big as a planet.
>>
>>10144516
You're basically looking at a huge warboss. To give an example of how big they get, one of "The Beast" prime-orks was 10 meters tall, another was as big as a small gargant. If you're going to get one of the mcfarlanes, go for the one with the pincer claw and shootas.

Its especially weird, because the radium rifle (in the previous image) doesn't even match the aesthetic of the figure at all. The filigree looks completely out of place.

The Arc rifle, on the other hand, makes more sense. But even then, its clearly copied DIRECTLY from the pictures in the codex.

I initially suspected they ripped off someone's 3d model online and passed it off as their own accessory, but if that were the case, then the top part of the Arc rifle would have come out more boxy, like the actual miniature is. So it seems that they recreated it from the codex illustrations. But why?

My initial speculation was that someone in china stole molds from a yet-to-be-announced Mcfarlane Skitarii Ranger/Vanguard, but that seems unlikely.

I think the biggest question of "why" is for the radium rifle. Not only does the rifle looks out of place, but they don't even have a paint app on the details, so why sculpt them at all?

I don't know about that. With the colors muted, it complements the retro dieselpunk aesthetic they seem to be going for. Reminds me of Wolfenstein and other Wacky Nazis-type settings.

Anyone got an idea what's a fair price for custom McFarlane repaints? Nothing fancy or whatever, and no additional parts; just straight paint touch-ups of the base figures like additional colors, washes, and varnishes. A McFarlane Ultramarine would still be an Ultramarine but with more paint apps to bring out the sculpt like pic related. Curious how much that would cost.

Dunno exactly, but pic related actually looks like a fair amount of work. I personally think the weathering is kinda overdone here, but it has clearly been very carefully and intricately worked on. This looks like at least 20-30 hours of detailing work to me, which would not exactly be cheap.

For the most part, it doesn't feel like a 1/18 line in hand. They are big and beefy and tower over my other 1/18 figures. There are some smaller figures, like the Kriegs or Sisters, but if you stick to Space Marines or Orks you should be fine. While they are smaller than McFarlane's obviously, I find them much more satisfying, and again, they just don't FEEL like small toys. They just have a lot of presence.

I highly recommend you at least give one a shot, you can get single figures for as cheap as like $30-35 shipped worldwide. That's not bad just to give it a try, and the line is still hot so you should be able to easily resell it if you don't like it.

They're so good for army building. I got some non-40k 1/18th scale JTs and yeah, too small for my taste, biggest problem being how they keep falling over without a stand. I'm hoping the tau won't have that issue since they've got weird dinosaur feet things.

Apparently the reason why only china got those helmets (and they had to be shipped to buyers separately) was because GW didn't approve the mark VII helmets. Regardless, we should have gotten them for free from these 3rd party vendors since they buy them directly from joytoy, so this is just greed.

There's an argument to be made that McFarlane should've used a gripping left hand like JoyToy but this thing only comes with 2 weapons and one set of hands. Be more practical to just make the second hand a high-5 so the figure can do neutral poses like >>10149806. Sticking to a left gripping hand when you have nothing to grip would just run into the same problem that most of McFarlane's DC figures are currently having - it looks awkward in anything other than one specific application (gripping).

Really fucking good. Lighter than you'd expect, and joints are mostly all ratcheted, so they hold weight just fine. I saw a pic of someone's dread kicking while balancing on the other leg. Range of motion isn't that great, but they can move around decently. What do you expect, VenDreads are bricks by design. They are satisfying big, very nicely sculpted, and an absolute steal for ~$100. They could easily have gotten away with charging $150-200 and it'd still feel like a decent value honestly. So far, I have a few, and I think my favorite is Bjorn. He has so much intricate paintwork on him, and it's surprisingly clean and well executed.

How long has it been since the first joytoy 40k announcement?

May 2021 they were doing teasers for the prototype incursors and infiltrators. What a wild ride it's been since.

Pretty interesting that they've got loyalist terminator miniatures on display. More confirmation that we're getting them soon?

Yo wtf, why is the UM heavy intercessors set to release BEFORE the previously announced IF heavy intercessors!? And why does the fucking UM that comes with the bald breather mask come with a helmet head, but the exact same IF does NOT include a helmet!?!?!?
Fucking untrasmurfs really do get more love.
Also, the IF is getting the better heavy bolter too, right? I'm looking for confirmation here, not assumptions!

Whew, Grey Knights shipping already? It feels like they just went up for preorder recently! Everything has been arriving so fast, there almost isn't enough time to get excited about a figure before the next one is already arriving.

Got Salus today, who also arrived sooner than I expected. Good solid Space Marine stuff as usual, but his dramatic blood chalice and 80s feeling headband make him stand out amongst the rest.

You can search customs. Expecting competent photography from McFarlane is a lost cause; they do not care.

>Any hand can do for that shit pose you phkmtv2osted.
No shit. I literally said as much. The point is to have a hand that can do that pose and more. If you have two gripping hands, then you need both used at all times because otherwise the pose looks awkward.

Where are there even sales at all? I checked most of the usual shops at Aliexpress, and the coupon situation doesn't seem to have changed much since 11/11. Are there any additional savings or coupon codes to be had?
>>
>>10156715
It's mostly added discounts "get x off for every y amount". So you have the seller's discount coupons, the special event added discount and you add special promo codes for extra savings. The 11.11 sale had a lot of the new stuff on special like the Custodes and sisters but for Black friday it's only leftovers from the 11.11 event.
>>
>>10156627
how is the 1.0 vs 2.0 bodies?

i hava squad of 1.0 and they feel a little loose/fragile, like unable to hold poses due to the weighty guns

should I swap for 2.0 guys?
>>
>>10156781
I like the 2.0 proportions better, especially the bigger shoulders

hands are worse imo
>>
>>10156781
Ab crunch and ankles are noticeably better, wrists are a little better but they already had great range on the 1.0s. Hands are worse (hard plastic that is very hard to wrap around weapons, and the fingers look too thin). Shoulders also worse, they can barely raise up sideways and they pop out too easily. However, they are ratcheted, so that may help with your heavy weapon issue. Otherwise mostly feels the same as the 1.0s to me.

So grey knights are supposed to be shipping out soon, but someone was saying they might be getting recalled. Supposedly because they are using the squared off bolters that crowe has rather than the round edge ones in the artwork. Not clear if it's a whole production run or just early review figs though. You can see the bolters in the below video.

Cool.

I'm only buying a few Space Marines.... but when the Necrons come I'll be getting about 30.

I'll be using it all to make a big version of Space Marine Adventures with an LED lit map which I'll play a few times and then hopefully sell on to a collector.
>>
>>10157539
Fuck me, cuz I wish the IF or BA redemptor came with a plasma cannon, and I totes would have been down to do a swap! Alas, I'm too poor now to buy a dread. Hopefully that changes soon, but no more toys that I haven't already budgeted for...
For the record, BT redemptor is cool too, I just didnt want a blue redemptor, I would have wanted a yellow or red, and black came out too late to consider. If I had no money issues, I'd likely go with IF redemptor, so I wouldn't double up on red with a furioso too, and then get the GK venerable dread, cuz silver and gold is sweet, as is claw arm over dorky big hand.
Chaos just seems way too bricky, and prolly should've been the arms config with storm bolters on top and flamers on the wrists. Would have been better play potential than functionally a swivel hammer and plasma cannon.
>>
>>10157729
The space wolves venerable dreads are the best imho, melee loadout is dope on the one, and bjorn's deco is great.

For me the chaos config should have included the power scourge, having it be posable and ripping apart a smurf or something would have been kino.

The little skull head just makes me laugh every time. How does that even work? Is it like an animatronic that the marine inside controls like a puppet? I always thought the "heads sticking out of the top of dreadnoughts" thing was silly, but this skull takes it to another level.
>>
>>10157442
Dang, that's regrettable. Also, seeing this video makes me wish they'd included an adapter so the standard bearer could alternately mount it on his backpack instead of the book.

>>
>>10158886

thoughts on mix and matching space marines? do diff chapters work together in a squad? how about other chapter marines riding the BT cycle? (the black is the best colorway for it) or having the wolf parts on other marines?
>>
>>10158992
You can do whatever you want with your toys, and if your worried about "lore friendly", there's an official board game set thingy that has a Smurf, a wolf, a vampire, and a fisty boi working together, so no reason a squad of survivors or whatever teams up to kick xenos ass.
Sharing/mixing gear could be like a tribute to fallen comrades or whatever, like a fun at has a wolf pelt because some wolves sacrificed themselves to save him/complete the mission.
>>
>>10159014
I fucking HATE that stupid slidy typing feature thingy, and auto correct fucking up what I'm trying to type...

>>
>>10158992
At first I was trying to stick with the chapter I collected/played as a kid (Space Wolves). But then all this other cool shit started releasing, and I just thought fuck it. Not gonna let that stand in the way of getting a good toy.

So now I have a little army comprised of every chapter released thus far. And I find that it really doesn't bother me much.
>>
Looking at the white scars reveal, those look real good. curved swords! and unhelmeted heads for each. im sticking to those marines, even if they clash w the enemy faction (white on white against tau's)
