The line shows no signs of going extinct, more to come in 2023
First for LystrosaurusRelease date when?
>>10032529>tfw Chaos Effect will never come back
HC JP3 Alan Grant and velociraptors incoming.
>>10032796I do not understand the appeal of this line.
>>10033163theyre fusions of generic/museum dinos
>>10033163I understand the appeal of wild hybrids, but the smooth, sharp-angled cartoony style is kind of unappealing. Yeah, I know this was meant to tie in to a cartoon that didn't happen, but they should've made the figures more realistically styled to better blend in with existing JP toys kids already had. Some of the most popular toy/cartoon combos had toys that didn't exactly match the animation, so I don't know why they decided to do that with Chaos Effect.
>>10033267>sharp-angled cartoony styleiirc there was meant to be a tie-in cartoon that never happened
>>10033656Have you considered reading the posts you reply to?
>I'll teach you not to fuck with me!
>>10033267considering chaos effect's post-mortem fame Im genuinely surprised nobody took the premise and spun it off into its own toyline by now. it's basically jurassic park gone wrong in a way. if you play up the dinosaurs attacks aspect of the premise I bet you could get dozens of kids onboard. getting murdered by genetically modified chimerasaurs is alot more entertaining than just regular old dinosaurs, plus you'd be anle to copyright whatever new terror lizards you come up with. the only line Ive ever seen come close was the long gone italian line known as "predasaurs".
>>10033900Hasbro kind of tried, but I think they didn't want to go all-in on it. The only one I remember seeing in stores was the stegoceratops. They apparently released more but I don't remember any of them, I don't know if they were limited release or what. Maybe Mattel will pick up that trail once sales die down due to lack of a movie to promote.
>>10032796>>10033823I still have my Raptor alpha, though her armor is long gone. I will never not be pissed about Ultimasaurus and Deinonycanis never getting a release, and since Indominus Rex and Indoraptor are basically their modern equivalents, there's zero hope of them showing up now even if Chaos Effect did somehow miraculously make a comeback.>>10033163>I do not understand the appeal of this line. They're mutant hybrid dino-freaks with neon color schemes. What's not to like?
>>10034248>since Indominus Rex and Indoraptor are basically their modern equivalentshaha no. Indos are just T-rex/raptor with long arms and hair, in the most plain color scheme ever. Meanwhile, Ultimasaur has things like a triceratops head and Ankylo tail
>>10034278>>10034280I'm not talking about their designs. They're based on the same concepts. Ultimasaurus was designed to be the ultimate predator, which is what Indominus was made to be in the movies. Deinonycanis was a fusion of Deinonychus and wolf to make it an excellent tracker and have it be a military weapon, intended to work alongside the military as an attack hound - which was Indoraptor's entire reason for being created in the movies. They took the same basic ideas for those two and created their own appearances for them, but conceptually the Indos are knockoffs of what Ultimasaurus and Deinonycanus were intended to be.
>>10034017I remember seeing the stegoceratops myself, but just like with hasbro's other offerings, the abundance of screwholes and preposed sculpts turned me off. Mattel getting into chaos effect territory would be fun though. It's odd that they havent jumped at the opporunity yet.
>>10034017>>10035018So they did release a whole dino hybrid line, but it came at the very tail end of Hasbro's run and lack of interest in the line as well as Hasbro's notorious distribution issues meant a lot of stores never carried them and a lot of people never saw them. Just as well, they were all either existing figures with a new head or an extra part tacked on or just straight up repaints with nothing to indicate why they're supposed to be hybrids.
>>10032796I found some of these at the flea market today for a dollar each, the neon colors are cool
>>10035029>there are people who want Hasbro back
>>10034248At least Ultimasaurus saw some life later on.
>>10038698Right? I understand why they think things might be better now with Hasbro given how they handle Star Wars and Marvel, but the problem with that thinking is not realizing how incomparable Jurassic is to those two things. It's as if these guys don't realize that Hybrids WAS Hasbro's response to the massive success of the first JW movie. They lost the doll rights for Disney Princesses for the same reason IIRC.
>>10038759and also a toy exists. i forget if it we ever got it or got shoved to international release
Reminder that if you pose your dinosaurs fighting you don't actually like dinosaurs, you like movie monsters.
>>10039087i believe it got sidelined to an international release. I cant be sure though, I mostly remember seeing shelves brimming with khybers.
>>10039091I pose my dinosaurs fighting robots, they're merely defending their territory you see
Should I even ask what the opinion is about the Camp Cretaceous releases? I saw them for $48 at TRU and $20 across the street at a pop up book store.
>>10043185There isn't much to them really, most of the dinos are basically all repaints. The Scorpios Rexes are all new, Bumpy has one or two new figures in her younger forms but I think the adult one just uses the basic ankylo body with a new head. The kids are pretty much the only really new figures and there's not much you can really say other than "yep that Kenji figure sure is a Kenji figure."
>HC concavenator leak was real
>>10044671Fuck HC Conc, I want HC Pyro and a dozen feathery repaints.
There's no way this picture isn't lies.
>>10044703>>10044760Looks nice, I guess? I dunno, I feel like they should do dinos that had actual scenes in HC before doing stuff like this. How many people even remember seeing it in Fallen Kingdom?
>>10044703>>10044760compared to the other two large theropods this one looks like ass. I'm glad they somewhat arranged the sculpt and didn't straight up use the regular one. still im mad at these bastards, just fucking do carno or dimetrodon already
>>10044779>How many people even remember seeing it in Fallen Kingdom?I had no idea it was in Fallen Kingdom.>>10044788>just fucking do carnoAgreed
>>10039091>you like movie monstersyes
>>10044857>I had no idea it was in Fallen Kingdom. There was a replica of it in the display at the mansion, so it was in the movie but it also kind of wasn't
>>10044788>>10044857>>just fucking do carnoAnd the Therizinosaurus too. They already have great base molds hindered by gimmiciks, they just need to remove them and add more articulation.
>>10044760the others hammonds are in impossible poses on the box, why would this be different?
>>10044953Mattell is retarded. They had years to prepare for Dominion and couldn't even manage to get out a proper Pyroraptor.
Found the Triceratops and Ceratosaurus at Tru, still no sign of the humans or smaller dinos. Shame the Triceratops can't open its little beak.
>>10047762 I've been faking Alan.
>>10048282>subbing a paleontologist with an archaeologistEh, close enough.
>>10048338 I actually have a Dr.Grant in my "pile o loot" but haven't had him sent yet. Does anyone know anything about these blind boxes - which I'm guessing comes wit h a person and I dino? (the boxes are shaped like trucks with cages on them.)
>>10035029From what I remember it was something Universal itself was pushing for said hybrids, at the same time their phone park builders were introducing the exact same hybrids
>>10048282Works well enough>>10048349I may go that route, but I have been enjoying finding these in the wild.
>>10044857>>10044927>>10044779Image just for you oh and it has the famous "man hands">>10044953>>10044857>>10044788This we need a Cano so bad last big one we got was too big and ugly
>>10048740*Carno>>10044953>>10044857>>10044788Well we are infact getting an extreme Damage version next year meaning it could have extra articulation but after the new Dominion Allosaurus its likely to have less and be a retooled, oversized Toro with removed neck articulation the Allosaurus could have been way better with neck articulation like the Albertosaurus.
Lads, Where can I find hammond collection stuff in Canada? I am going there for work next month and wanted to see if I can find some. I refuse to pay 50 euro for a ceratosaurus. Thanks.
>>10048741I won't settle for a regular release anymore. not as long as they keep that retarded dna pull tab. hc
>>10049456Toys r us. I have found everything but the humans and smaller dinos there. Wal marts are always worth a look, that's where I got my Hammond Rex
Found my Smithsonian dinosaurs. Yes they’re gutted Dinoriders. But it’s the entire set of them. A few of the molds were also used for Cadillacs and Dinosaurs which I think I had everything to except the gun and the garage.
>>10048740>>10048741>last big one we got was too big and ugly>oversized ToroI'm so glad I got the action attack one. I even like his painting more besides the eyes which are kinda shitty.
>>10048349They're double pack minis if you're talking about the ones that look like cages
>>10048349Are you talking about this? If so, it comes with a little Owen a d a few little dinos.
>>10049809What's that one next to the trike, obscured by the dimetrodon?
>>10049809great stuff anon. I had that same mammoth
>>10048388 I'm a little bit "Whaaaa?" with the "shit up to her elbosw Ellie." I expect terrible photos.
>>10050337 That was it.
>>10044703>>10044760Hammond Collection Mononykus when?
>>10049834Still have mine though, it has yet to be beat. Man the Toro verion looked truely terrible imo when compared.
Surprised no one is talking about these yet
>>10053636All about dat Piehat
>>10053659He looks like Urkel
>>10053690>>Did I dooo that, motherfucker?
>>10053655friar tuck looking good
>>10053636>>10053655man i really wish Mattel stops with these motherfucking fucking clown feet on those motherfucking dinosaurs
>>10053820Worst part is they really don't need them to stand. The HC dinos can stand perfectly fine on their own with all the added articulation
With all these Indoraptor releases we've seen you'd think that at least one of them would have some color variance.I'd like to see the unused white Indoraptor appear in the toy line as a recolor.
>>10044760Yeah but notice how this one has wrist articulation. Thats a first for the size range.
What else was in the HC leak?
I found him for 15 Euros in good condition (bite gimmick does still work) in a private sale directly in my neighborhood, shall i get him? my only concern is hes too big and i already have so much shit
>>10058123Get him, thats a great deal especially now
>>10044760Tempted on that one. He's cute.
>>10059801>messaged the seller yesterday morning because i had to work all sunday long>"oh i already sold the dinosaur to somebody else because you didnt response anymore">i told that stupid cunt to reserve the dinosaur for me because i was the first person that messaged her about it and im buying him 100% but i had to work on said sundayREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYOU GODDAMN STUPID WHORE ARE YOU TOTALLY KIDDING ME? WTF!
>>10060954From your initial post it sounds like you weren't actually 100% buying him since you decided to come ask lunatics on a Vietnamese cat scratching forum what we thought of the deal
>>10061186I told her to reserve it for me and that i message that stupid cunt later
New Hammond Collection figuresRobert MuldoonJP3 Male RaptorJP3 Alan Grant with JP3 Female Raptor are being released as a two pack.
>>10061542JP3 Grants Accessories
>>10061542>>10061554What did Dr Alan Grant mean by this?
>>10061542>Robert Muldoon>without ugly upper joint in the middle of the shirt>with actual fucking gunThe boots still look like like shit (and probably wrong hinge for the gun hands again) and the HC rapotors suck, but but I may get him and one celver girl anyway.
>>10061562will you marregg me
>>10053636We already have Sammy yell Jackson figures
>>10061586You think this is some kind of yoke?
HC Nedry when?
I thought this was some weird pregnant dino toy. It took me way too long to figure out that was a glove underneath it.
>>10062286pregnant dino toy you say?I wonder how that happenedthere's no unauthorized breedingbut maybe someone got past the securityhow do I know this?ah ah ah you didn't say the magic word...
Target has shipped my Dreadnoughtus.
>>10061562"You dropped this, ma'am."
>>10062286is that the "hyper realistic puppet"?
>>10064267this is really not *that* far off from the kind of thing used in theme parks and road shows, and for $60 or whatever compared to $3000 for the most basic of those this is pretty neat. All of you retards expecting literal movie tier prop replicas out of these lines are idiots.
Found dilo and Ellie HC at my Target (SoCal) today, very very surprising to see them this early. to my knowledge they havent shipped preorders really anywhere yet right?
>>10064364>literal movie tier prop replicasI'll let somebody else tell you
>>10066102Wait, did they make dilo the same size as the raptor?
>>10066154Looks very similar yes
>>10066178doesn't look like they share any parts at least, i was kinda worried it would be a heavy retool
>>10033267It makes more sense when you find out the cartoon was going to be cel-shaded CG. Think Zelda Wind Waker.
Sooo....this FINALLY came in today. It's cute, and it was $25+ shipping...and it shows.First, the Ian is kinda cool, it's a HC one with a unique torso and left leg, so that's neat, but for once I'm keeping it on the plastic tray. The plastic on the ground is okay, a bit thinner than expected and could have used a wash. Now for the negative. Opening the shipping box, I was a bit suprised that the book's cover is cardboard, or more specifically a pretty thin cardboard, like almost SWVC card back thin. Finally, the sound and light feature; it fucking sucks. It's tinny, a bit echo-y, and sounds like it was recorded off of a VHS playing in an adjacent room. The LEDs work good, but holy fuck the audio is really fucking bad. It'll look cute on the shelf, but do NOT pay more than the original $25 for it.
>>10066178Dilo looks pretty big.
>>10070912I like 'em big
