Typhus + 6 DST run you 350 points and the absolutely insane staying power they have (especially in melee) and frankly pretty competent output they have for the price is great. 24 T6 2+/4++ wounds with -1 to be hit in melee, 5 S9 AP-2 D3 + 24 S8 AP-2 D2 attacks, or 46 attacks to clear chaff. Some mortal wounds from Typhus, 7D6 flamethrower autohits with antiinfantry 4+ and then your choice of a further -1 to hit for anyone near or +1 AP.The +1 AP is pretty disgusting if you somehow catch someone in range of an infected objective. Pop ferric blight and your autowounds on 4+ with ignores cover are all AP-3. It fucking MELTS marines.

I think the new management that came in saw the direction things were going and wanted to hit a hard reverse ASAP, which culminated in only Marines and Chaos getting meaningful changes. Eldar and Dark Eldar were mid-change and thus got hit the worst, having not only their then-current storyline demolished but also everything that was set to come after it, hence why there's been absolutely nothing for them in years while every other Xenos faction has at least gotten some books or developments.
