Guys, Magnus just won another trophy.Nobody cares about your little shitter tournament.
Oi Simon if yew keep playing without calculating you're gonna get windmilled on the Queen forsureforsure
>>88990849That was one god damn hell of a comeback he pulled. Very impressive even by his standards.

Oh god damnit. I was playing blitz just now, guy threatens mate in 3, it took me 38 seconds to realize I can just take his queen. I found it during blunder check. At least i didn't resign.

When will the Caro Kan be refuted?
Assuming perfect play, chess is a draw
>>88991531Not that i want to burst your bubble or anything, but chessdotcum "brilliant" moves are a fucking joke. Take a look at this shit for instance. I simply grabbed a free pawn there and the computer goes OMG!!!!!1111!11!11!!!! because somehow it's so le fucking "hard to see" that his knight will be hanging when i capture the outpost pawn and it will be a piece for a piece. But apparently just because the rook can take the bishop without a direct recapture this is a Tal-tier "sacrifice", kek.And even more funny is that this move doesn't even win the pawn. He can throw in an inbetween move by grabing my f-pawn with tempo on the queen and material will be equal (although my opponent didn't find that move).

Pls post optimal study routine.I will try to become the first 4chan GM.
Saw my crush that plays chess today beautiful as always (actually, she looked even better than normal) came home and got inspired thinking about her played 8 games and won seven and all of them were very good wins (defeated some rivals that were like 50 points higher rated than me, and I won in less than 40 moves in all of them).I managed to cross 1700 chesscum blitz again after tilting really hard and losing 200 elo points due to me making the mistake of playing on lichess again
I need to remember this move in accelerated panov. It leads to several tactics and material wins regardless of black's best replies. Black putting queen on that square is common so it'll probably come up again at some point.
>>88992118Speaking of the accelerated panov. Recommended. It's very strong in shitter blitz.
This has been my most dominant chess day in my life. I’m literally seeing everything right now. Just look at how many moves it took me to win, lads.

>>88993196Are u a master? No? Then it no matter. Look at lichess player database.
>>88993223You want to trade your c pawn for white's d pawn. That is the most basic foundation reason for c5.
>>88993235Yes, but not yet.

>>88993252It fights for the control of d4 so white can’t get two pawns in the centre
>>88993188The kosher openings which weren’t touched by gentiles.
>>88993274This makes sense, so if white declines the trade he is left with a more cramped position and his d4 pawn is going to suffer?
>>88993289Essentially. White claims the centre with e4, black stakes his claim with c4. White has to fight to get the centre back in some way by playing nf3, d4, or c3, d4, or f4 Grand Prix. You should read logical chess by Chernenko if you want a book he goes into this stuff
>>88993289If white doesn't play d4 the game goes in to the closed variations of Sicilian. This isn't better or worse for white, necessarily, just different. The most fighting chances for white involve pushing d4 and entering the open Sicilian.
>>88993235I play masters and I have to beat or draw them, sweaty.

>>88994122There's no need to go deeper than you're getting in games. I do an audit of my openings every couple months to see what the most common replies are, gear study towards that. Slowly build the flow chart over time as rating improves and opponent knowledge increases. For Sicilian I'm usually out of specific prep by move 10-ish. This is deeper than my other openings as open Sicilian proper doesn't start until move 6 anyway. From there just understanding plans. Some new move starts giving me trouble I look it up and add.

>>89001880I usually meme about indians cheating, but aborting out of principle against indians is a very healthy choice. Maybe this general psyoped me into it, but a lot of games against them seem suspicious to me. For example, if I play 2200 rated indians and 2200 rated americans, a lot of the games against indians have moments that feel very sus while the american games always feel natural start to end. I dunno, maybe indians just emulate engines more or something. Same thing with fillipinos.
>>88997240Grunfeld, getting consistently good positions with it honestly feels like magic
>>88999652at 16:20 I thought the classic Rh8 trick was working with a skewer if Rxc7
>>89002483This bullshit again? I thought last time taught you a valuable lesson about not being a racist prejudiced prick. You wanna go for another dance?
>>89003152Yeah, you're correct. I didn't look for it at the time and then it was too late.
>>89003022I'm going to learn the broad strokes of the grunfeld this week and give it a try. Nimzo is a little too positional for my style. What usually happens is I get everything I want out of the Nimzo and then I like at my pretty pawn structure and center control and get confused how to proceed. Positional squeeze isn't something I do with any other opening so Nimzo doesn't really suit me.
So I think I see what I’ve been doing wrong in classic chess, I’ve been trying to win it in the mid game.Which works fine for rapid, but people (other than me) aren’t going to blunder and give the game away when have an hour on the clock.New plan, aim for position in the end game, maybe will cease with the sucking… For now.

>>89002483I'm usually playing a range from 550s to 800s in blitz and what I find with the Indians is that it seems like they've learned every hyper aggressive and highly risky opening. If you know how to parlay like 5 or so aggressive openings then they fall apart.
>>89004074General tip that worked well for me down at that rating range:Have a basic default development plan in case the other side plays weird. Meaning if not prevented, I want pawns here, knights here, bishops here. This is much more effective than trying to react to what they are specifically doing (obviously keep control of f7/f2). It will serve you well against most very aggressive early attacks and against the push all the pawns approach.

Feeling pretty tired. Time to play chess and tilt.
http://live.shogi.or.jp/eiou/kifu/8/eiou202305280102.htmlhttps://abema.tv/now-on-air/shogiThe fourth game of the 8th Eiou tournament is being played between Sota Fujii (sente, the Eiou title holder) and Tatsuya Sugai. The time control is normally four hours per player, but since this game had to be replayed due to initially ending in a repetition draw (http://live.shogi.or.jp/eiou/kifu/8/eiou202305280101.html), both players started with a little over three hours. The match is a best of five, and Fujii currently leads 2 wins to 1.The opening of this game was, like every other game in the match, static rook vs third file rook.
This is the first time I've played the From's Gambit in my life. Your response, Birdsisters?
maybe next week i'll actually show up to the tournament this time

>>89006577you win the finaleveryone should play their main openings this time desu
I'm on holiday and during the weekdays I get my asw pounded playing chess and in the weekends I'm sitting now on a 7 win streak. What's up with that? Do shitters play more during weekends?
>>89006693people are hangover
>>89006693You are profoundly stupid if you view a 7-win streak as anything statistically unlikely
I can't find any resources/puzzles that could help understand how to defend my kingI always win pieces in exchanges but then they just throw all their shit at my castled king and I get checkmated
>>89006693I've noticed that the lichess pool gets stronger in the evenings in Europe. It's quite weak in the morning. If you're in Europe and want to gain easy rating: play in the mornings.
>>89006773Interestingly, I thought the exact opposite. I always feel like people are weaker in the evening
Well been getting my blunders under control, was set for a win in this 4 hr game, 15 min left on the clock for both of us, that’s my excuse for getting greedy and chasing the queen here.So many ways this is oof, it surprised both of us the natural next move.So blunders not wholly under control, at least they aren’t in the opening tho.Almost not even mad throwing away a tourney win to the logic here.
>>89006788Strong European and Russian players come back from school/work in the evenings and play. During the mornings in Europe, you only get weak third worlders and some NEET Europeans.
>brainlets who think they can hold on to the gambit pawn in the scandikek
>>89006850I dunno why Indians are so bad for their rating, they just are tho.Maybe they’ve earned it by playing other poo in loos? They’re ok I guess but just lacking sharpness, there isn’t much imaginative about their play.Third world, basically only note Indians. Nigerians seem to do ok, assorted others never really noted.
>>89006741Did I say anything about it being unlikely? I just questioned the quality of the players during different times of the day or during weekdays and weekends. I do play mostly in the morning, and compared to weekdays, my opponents are a lot weaker.
>>89006850For me, my nemesis are Balkan players, especially Serbs or Romanians. Turkey (if we include them) also has pretty strong players.
>>89005447Incredibly, the rematch has also ended in a draw by repetition (this time at 116 moves). A third game will be played at 7:15 pm JST, with sides reversed.
>>89006869>hunt king across board to your own back rank and checkmate thereThat's good stuff.
>>89006878>I dunno why Indians are so bad for their rating, they just are thoThey are primarily butchers with little patience. There is rarely any nuance to their strategy: relentless attack and mate OR relentless defense and try to get you in to a losing endgame. An Indian player who does anything else is a rarity below 2000. It's like they are oblivious to the Russian school of chess entirely.
>>89006894Same. Balkans and sometimes northern Europe. US/Canada and western Europe are more of a mixed bag.
>>89006894I just played against a turk that blundered a knight on move 6
>>89006940Is it atypical for shogi games to end in a draw?
>>89006940http://live.shogi.or.jp/eiou/kifu/8/eiou202305280103.htmlthe third game started. Sugai has 1 hr 6 minutes, Fujii has 1 hour (normally, both players have whatever time they finished the last game with, but if one player has less than an hour, both players start the time with however many minutes needed for that player to start with an hour added to their time. In this case, Fujii had two minutes at the end of the last game, so both players gained 58 minutes)>>89007069Yeah, they're really rare. iirc it's like less than 2% or something like that.
>>89007008Well no, that’s the strange thing. If they were just shitters with no clue I’d never be matched up with them, they’d be 300 elo below me.Somehow, they’re flawed in a way that a firstie can just dismantle them, but the ratings system hasn’t picked up on that. It’s weird.
