Whats your review of the Grey Knights' teleporting shenanigans? What are your hopes/fears for Deldar preview tomorrow?
>>
>hopes for Deldar preview
I just want them to not be absolute dogshit, but given how hard they were nerfed into the ground last edition there's no hope of that. GW is going to hold a grudge this edition and probably won't forget it for another two editions after this. Just look at Tyranids, a literal shadow of their 9e selves.
>>
>>88988270
so after reading the GK preveiw, I think I have an idea of what the units psychic ability will be with a couple mysteries:

>Strikes
-?????

>Purifiers
-Purifying Flames "Gun"

Interceptors
-?????

>Purgation
-Astral Aim

>Brotherhood [5th edition returns]
-Hammerhand ability (Re-roll melee Wound Rolls)

>Paladins
-Armoured Resilience ability (+1 to Save Throw)

>Brotherhood Apothecary
-Aegis Eternal ability (FNP6+ to attached unit)

>Brotherhood Ancient
- Inescapable Pursuit (Reroll Charge of attached unit)

>Paladin Ancient
- Protection of Purity (Immunity or buff against Psychic to attached unit)

And people thought Eldar were annoying for their movement, can't wait to see how much raw fury GKs inspire by teleporting onto every objective and then outmaneuvering every other army with ease
With their new statlines they're basically a Custodes sidegrade, but with the teleport rule they're now Custodes that are faster than every other unit in the game, and it's going to be actually nightmarish to try to fight that

possibly. I think I am close to what they will do. GW is trying to move the Psychic powers that were used/related to the units from the previous editions. scourges are the most trusted and protected people in commorragh you lorelet, they're basically ultra-high-class mailmen responsible for delivering packages and missives between the elite. they're one of the only truly untouchable castes of society in comorragh since NOBODY likes having their mail fucked with, anyone dumb enough to interrupt a Scourge during their courier work has the entire city come down on their heads. The packages they deliver also have tailor made toxic bombs and dead man switches that only the sender and receiver know how to disarm or produce an antidote for, to ensure that even the person delivering it can't take a peek.

idk about you but I wouldn't mind a hot bird elf UPS driver gf. imagine how soft the wings are

almost certainly not, they're in the complete opposite side of the galaxy and separated from the 4th Tyrannic War by the Cicatrix Maledictum, plus they already had their own big showdown with Leviathan just recently, and right now their plotline is about getting curbstomped by Angron and the World Eaters

Probably not, they're in the Imperium Nihilus, the 4th Tyrannic War is on the opposite side of the galaxy in Segmentum Pacificus. Also GW has way overfocused on the BA vs Nids shit for too long now because they kept milking Baal, it's over and done with, move on, there are so many other groups to face off with nids.
>>
>>88988519
The second half of Leviathan is at their doorstep. Literally. They are already have been fighting this war before these new tendrils popped up in the west.

It's still useful as a safety valve when specific configurations are overlooked and overtuned. The idea is to at least stop "all razorwing flocks vs. all gun drones" while still leaving flexibility.

>warhammer+
I don't understand why anyone would even know about something on warhammer+, that would mean people were watching it for some reason.

>>88988541

>>
>>88988539
>What are the implications of this?
The other Necron Overlords distrusted the Silent King when he came back from exile between galaxies and started yapping about having to awaken everyone and unite to face the Tyranids because
>how on earth could he have encountered Tyranid ships in the void between galaxies? Those distances are insanely immense, incalculable. Ridiculous, there'd have to be so many Tyranid ships that they somehow completely encircled the entire galaxy for that to make any lick of sense
And then this happened, showing that the Silent King wasn't lying... at least not about this particular thing
>>
>>88988555
Just sharpen some plastic rod
>>
>>88988553
>leviathan is still the default tyranid color scheme for the next 15 years
This is the part that annoys me the most. I really wanted the 10th ed posterboys to be a new Hive Fleet and new scheme. I think GW stuck with Leviathan because there aren't any other cool giant monster names in the Bible besides Behemoth which was already used as the first one.
>>
>>88988545
nope, sorry
>>
>>88988539
>What are the implications of this?

Business as usual, just with more emphasis on the Tyranids possibly coming as a singular group rather than different Hive Fleets being from different galaxies (which was never confirmed and doesn't make sense timescale-wise anyway). It does mean that they can theoretically attack anywhere without territory resistance though; strictly speaking there's nothing stopping them just diving on Terra, though that would be a terrible strategy.

I’d like Incubi and the Succubus to get a 2+ save that cannot be reduced by any means as a special rule. The Archon should keep his 2+ invuln but as just a normal invuln save. Power from Pain should confer a 6+ FNP. Blade Artist should be turned into Lethal Hits 5+. Dark Lance must be buffed to put it in line with 10e anti-tank weapon standards. Boats have 4+ invuln and an assault ramp. Flyers have -1 to be hit and a 4+ invuln; bomb is buffed greatly, fighter weapons buffed greatly. Wychs can deny any attempts to fall back by any units within Engagement Range. Each leader model confers different buffs when attached.

Toothpicks work. Seal them with superglue before painting and use a little greenstuff to blend them in and make sure they're well seated. If you want more sculpted spike, one of the best sources is the chaos accessory sprues that come with Chaos Vehicles. Assuming you don't feel the need to use every bit on every vehicle you own it gives lots of extra little spikes to cut off.

But they're so much more, and they really exist to just make one SPECIFIC army feel really bad. If grey knights don't curbstomp daemons, it ruins the fantasy of playing as that army. If they do, then daemons just auto-lose the matchup.

predict how high the strength of this gun will be in 10e, considering it's already s16 in 9th edition. I'm thinking 20+ if the imperial knights shit is any indication, some of their guns are S24 even.

unfortunately there's no dark eldar equivalent, dark lances are pretty much it in terms of anti-tank

No. I shan't. Death Guard is the resilience meme army. It's one thing to nerf death guard resilience (maybe reduce -1AP weapons to 0AP, maybe a 6+fnp, maybe a +1 save against damage 1 weapons) but outright removing the resilience is a giant meme and you might as well delete the faction, for it no longer has a purpose. Just remove Psychic powers from Grey Knights while we are at it, or make orks good at shooting and bad at melee

Many people can paint at a decent tabletop "I wouldn't be ashamed to put this on the battelfield" quality but few can do it fast enough (and cheaply) to make it profittable. you need to spend all day at your desk painting but you also need enough commissions to have something to paint. YOu can't just paint 1k points of CSM and have it collect dust waiting to be ordered.

It takes such a huge amount of work doing commissions that you're better off developing your own skills and making tutorials and abusing the youtube algorithm.

>I've read about how they can have unfun skew matches.
anyone whining about this is a faggot. the most common armies in the game that make up 90% of the playerbase are all full of either 3+ save marines or 2+ save terminators. a fucking 500 point knight still only has a 3+ save.
if someone is whining and bitching and moaning that you're a "skew list" that they don't have enough anti-tank to kill, just call them a fucking moron since a tactical marine would also be "too skew" for them to deal with. You have no excuse for losing when you bring nothing but AP0 guns and also refuse to have good melee options.
This isn't older editions where you literally can't hurt vehicles with some guns, even massed lasguns are enough to bring down a titan. Actual knights lists run a bunch of Armigers as a result which are basically just dreadnoughts as a result, since they're one of the only point efficient models they have.

anyone whining about knights as a skew list, ask them what their plan is if they have to shoot a fucking Rhino?

realistically, they will probably still be okay on the table. im sure the balance team will adjust the points and tweak the numbers so they are able to land in that 50% winrate zone, or close enough to it.

the problem is that its an army that has traditionally had a durability mechanic, usually a 5+ feel no pain save, but in the last edition a -1 damage buff, to augment their troops in addition to their high toughness. now it appears they have stripped out that thematic element entirely. its the equivalent of if they just suddenly removed necrons reanimation from the army all together, its a core part of their identity, and sure you could balance them to still be good without it, but it feels like somethings missing.

as far as the models go though, you really cant go wrong. all fully modern plastics, well sculpted (even if some people dont like the overly mutated look of the new models), and a decent variety of daemon engines and finally a new plastic daemon prince
>>
>>88989968
I agree with the other anon that reapers generally get shit done better, although they require a few more brain cells to use. But Necrons are not lacking in ways to put a blob of Warriors where they want, especially once 10th comes out and you can just slurp them up with a Monolith.

Bro, they just announced those are dead forever. Forge World is only making giant models that are too big for the main GW studio now, and specialist games stuff for Necromunda and Horus Heresy.

On the bright side GW will be remaking some of the old resin IA stuff in plastic and it will be in actual codexes now instead of some pseudo-3rd party thing in a separate book.

New of course. The new GK preview had me curious about Imperium and GK. I WAS thinking DG next but...

But god damn do I hate Nemesis Dreadnoughts. I love Contemptors though.

I'd be surprised if GK don't get a hefty model revamp with their codex this edition now that GW has stopped pretending they aren't updating Firstborn.

In any game mode with significant terrain and obstacles they are hilariously overpowered.
As an example, imagine playing against the 10th edition grey knights during a Boarding Patrol game, where your army is still stuck opening fucking doors and moving down tight corridors and cucked by walls and LOS, while the Grey Knights are effectively fucking noclip map hacking their way straight to the objective and can flank you through walls by teleporting right next to all your squishy ranged units.

They're actually fucking disgusting but because it's not a meme mortal wound spam or some big number/reroll mechanic brainlets are completely failing to comprehend how retarded this shit will be in actual play. Every single battlefield needs to be designed with permanent Naruto Shadow Clone teleportation in mind or they just instantly break the game

I already have the lore sort of thought out. Their planet is foggy and dark, there are rare storms of rust promoting dusts, and there's massive sinkholes covered in wire mesh as a result of archeotech bombs, the cult has had control for years now as a result of their fleet being tangled up and depleted and unable to reach them so they've been falling deeper and deeper into religous insanity and fervor. I don't want to do typical "it copies your fears" stuff because the hive mind is much more directly hostile, the town of silent hill always felt like a more neutral reflection of the people in there. Silent hill in general is actually not that dangerous when you think about it, just emotionally traumatizing.

It literally does not state the Inquisition is necessary. It talks about the dangers of rogue psykers who are, as proven by the very same setting, able to be collected and safely disposed of or harnessed for the greater benefit of all. You do not need Inquisitors to find psykers. In fact, Inquisitors are almost never the ones who root out rogue psykers, it's the locals who collect them and deliver them to the Black Ships, lorelet.
>The survival of the Emperor fed by psyker sacrifices
Is again still irrelevant to the Imperium itself being incompetently managed and a crumbling, festering shitpile that fails even the most basic definition of functional government. There is no reason why the Imperium as a whole must be terrible, but it is, and even the Emperor himself knows it did not have to be this way.

>I have been his Sigillite long enough to know that he is aware of how he looks. He so detests this unfortunate aspect: a golden king, idle upon a golden throne. He dislikes seeming to be the very thing he has emphatically opposed. I have always known him to be very deliberate in his presentation. Over the millennia, he has worn many masks, each suitable to the task at hand. His mind, his greatest gift, allows him significant flexibility in such things. He has appeared as male or female, or neither, as child or elder, peasant or king, magician or fool. He has been an entire cartomantic arcana, for the Master of Mankind is also a master of disguise. He has performed all of these roles well, with delicacy. He has been humble when humility was needed, gentle when softness was the best device, sly, amiable, reassuring, commanding, caring. He has been terrible when terror was the only recourse, and sometimes meek in order to inherit the Earth. He has been whomever and whatever it has been necessary to be. No one has ever seen his true face, or learned his true name.

>Not even me. I have known him by as many names as he has worn masks, and by as many faces. It occurs to me, belatedly, in this last hour of the final act, that perhaps, just like everyone else, I have only ever seen what he has allowed me to see. Perhaps, even if this room was filled with a multitude, I would still be the only one who would see a golden king upon a golden throne, the only one for whom those fingers would appear to tremble.

The Empreror isn't stupid he knows those characteristics are what makes people attracted to gods. Doesn't mean he wants to be one or people to think they exist. He just wants humanity to appropriate those elements.

personally I hope the combat patrol game mode ends up being good/fun, I much prefer smaller battle sizes in general and enjoy skirmish shit like killteam/mordheim

Yeah a lot of the same symbols are also symbols of imperial authority, and while big e didn't want to be a god, he did (and HAD to, really) want to be a symbol of absolute authoritarian rule, he was humanity's united leader and most gifted scientist and most powerful fucking space wizard.

And then shock and horror and total surprise when Lorgar *for some reason* betrayed him? No, I don't actually believe Emperor was that retarded, though it is possible he may have been. The Emperor specifically set up a few of his sons to betray him, I think that is undeniable (unless you subscribe to the valid theory that he was just a retard).

Notably: Lorgar, Angron, Mortarion. All of whom he had great opportunities to make love/appreciate him but at every choice decided to make them want to betray him.

Unique detachment that lets you use Crisis Suits as battleline. Absolutely not getting a unique codex this edition when they're pulling back on unique codices in general.
>>
I’m not sure how I feel about GK preview. I’m even more interested now that they have fucking every-turn teleportation. Their models are just so old. How long has it been since GK got an update? I remember my college roommate buying some GK around 6th edition and getting that big Dreadknight model everyone seems to hate.
>>
>>88990919
morty told emps specifically not to kill his adoptive father and big E did it anyway
>>
>>88990881
Why aren't you just playing Boarding Actions then? They plan to keep it going through 10th too apparently.
>>
>>88990902
Mortarion was and is just a bitter cunt mad that he had to be saved from his own stubbornness.

Since 5th edition, not counting the one named character they got updated in 9th.

>>

Big E let him try and he failed. He would have died if the Emperor hadn't intervened because he's so absurdly stubborn that he fucks himself over again and again and again.
Even 10,000 years later he's fucking himself over because he's a stubborn idiot.
>>
>>88990935
>Why aren't you just playing Boarding Actions then?
I am, but boarding actions themselves have a lot of restrictions that are kind of weird and not evenly applied (abaddon can come with a dozen cultists but celestine can't fit her wings through doors? really? tau can bring battlesuits but I can't bring scourges?)
>>
>>88990934
Morty was being a fucking manchild retard with daddy issues.

The only thing Emps ever did wrong was not just killing Lorgar and liquefying his legion after being repeatedly disobeyed.

Is there any hope to see some model revitalization in GK? I already collect one old model army, I don’t want a second.

>The only thing Emps ever did wrong was not just killing Lorgar and liquefying his legion after being repeatedly disobeyed.
But he would've been in the wrong to do that. He wanted the Heresy. Maybe not specifically Horus or Magnus to betray him and perhaps even others were unexpected as well, but I believe that he intentionally setup some Legions to betray him for some reason.
>>
>>88990911
okay, but do you think sister give a single fuck about any kind of foundation outside of the emperor?

Yes, it's been about long enough I would expect they might get redone in 10th. That could still be up to 3 years out though...

>‘You think of Him as a god.’

>‘I know He…’ she began. Her voice dropped. ‘I know what I know.’

>‘You know what He wants you to know, dear.’

>‘The Emperor has denied every attempt,’ she said carefully, ‘to apotheosise Him.’

>‘Let me share a secret with you, Euphrati,’ said Fo, leaning forward, beckoning to her. ‘There are no gods. That’s the first thing. If there were, they would operate in silent and measureless mystery, their ways too sublime for us to perceive. But there are those who would have you believe they are gods. Who, I should say, want to be gods. And the first step they take to that end? They deny themselves. They assume a humble attitude and declare, “I am not a god… even though you might think I am.” It is a psychological pathway to foster faith. I saw Him begin it all those years ago. I knew that, one day, He would be proclaimed a god. He is, after all, immensely powerful. He will become a god whether He likes it or not. Godhood is the ultimate tool of control. It is the pinnacle of tyranny. Faith drives your followers. Blind faith. You no longer have to make any sense at all, no longer have to justify your actions. You are followed blindly. If, like Him, you do not care to be criticised or doubted, it is a state to be wished for.’

>‘He has denied–’ Keeler began.

>‘Yet you still believe! This is my point! The more He denies it, the more you believe! You do not judge the fact that He is, at heart, human, you embrace the lack of fact, because blind faith comforts you. Tell me, does He tell you, any of you, what His plan is? His scheme?’

>‘No.’

>‘There you go. Because then you would understand. Anything that is easy enough to understand is not powerful enough to be worshipped. A history of religion should show you this.’
>>
>>88991031
this is the real answer. don't even make it one of the plausible loyalist traitors (like blood ravens being basically confirmed as 1k sons, or something straight upcanon like loyalist alpha legion warbands), make it something psychotic like loyalist night lords

yeah it's not like mohammad went around telling everyone he WASN'T the chosen prophet of god, or that Jesus said "no no no, I'm not the son of god, I'm just a nice guy who wants you to love each other"

kinda dumb but what do you expect from retarded fedora tipping black library authors who know nothing of actual theology or history. most people's reaction to anyone claiming they're a fucking god is extreme skepticism, the people who have succeeded IRL at convincing people they're divine have had to be VERY vocal and VERY persistent about their divinity to overcome that baseline rejection. Nobody got deified on accident.

Depends on their minimum required hardware. They could be loading the entire map into video memory for quick culling checks for all you know, taking 3d models and projecting them onto a 2D texture as a rendering step that has lighting baked in. They could do all sorts of stupid shit to a “2D Doom clone” type game to be “modern”.

the real reason big e likes the sisters of silence so much is that he's really a sexy christmas cake and wants some girls to hand out and paint his nails with, but because she grew up in fucking bronze age anatolia she assumed you needed to be a 20 foot tall jacked demigod authority figure for people to take her seriously.
the only people who can see through the glamour are the sisters of silence which is also why they're not allowed to talk. this is also why Big E grants miracle dice to Sororitas but ignores marines.

Malcador the Sigilite was of course the emperor's obligatory gay best friend. this is also why she was such a terrible "father", she was larping the whole time.

I ignore whatever fluff I don't like, so I like to think The Cabal presented them two scenarios: one where Horus won and chaos self destructed, or one where the Emperor won and the Imperium became everything the Emperor despised instead of disappearing.
As such, Alpharius chose "neither". He vented the Cabal representative, helped a coup to destroy it, and rationalized that neither side could "win" if the conflict never ended. Hence the future being in a state of constant war.
It proved to be the wrong choice, however, as current era is defined precisely by the Imperium being a regressive, stagnant empire.

Sometimes people are mistaken. This IS a tragedy, after all.

Oh for fucks sake.
You do realize none of those are a result of religion, rather adopted symbolic imagery that religions used and tied to themselves.
Gothic architecture is not a Catholic thing. Arguably it was anti-catholic, but then got adopted later on because it makes solid, attractive buildings.
A halo is a fucking not-crown.
Wings are a symbol of freedom.
And people often defer leadership to taller people.
And miracles aren't real. That's just being better at shit.

All these symbols dated well before any abrahamic religion came about. We can trace them back to earliest Egypt, just going off the top of my head. They don't come from Christian lore, or Jewish lore, or fucking anything.
