As a very illustrative roleplayer, I would like to step in and defend Greg for a second here. The truth is it can get a little boring describing the bare toes of your character for the fourteenth time in the session. So it's natural to want to liven your descriptions up with a few strong adjectives. "Lickable, delectable, tongueable, dainty, paintable, wriggling and pink, wanton and inviting, sweat-damped and fragrant, etc." You get the idea. Remember that when we are roleplaying, we are essentially acting as world-builders. These vivid descriptions are integral to the roleplay experience.

How to describe a character is barefoot without saying they are barefoot?

'Lickable' can only be one of two things.
If used as a literal descriptor, it only means they are 'able to be licked', a detail so non-unique as to be useless.
If used to mean 'a person would want to lick them', then that is attributing your opinions to my character. The fact of the matter is that foot fetishes are rare enough that something that appeals to them cannot be given the same kind of weight as the generic 'beautiful' does (and even with that you still need to back up which traits in specific make them beautiful according to concensus).

I actually draw my characters but sure: ranger with brown messy hair, badly shaven, his eyes are not always focused on something so he may not look at you when he you're chatting with him. Average height, large shoulders. Since he spends a lot of time outdoors he tends to be more tanned/browned than the average local.
For Shadowrun: black haired guy, lanky, weapon expert, extremely tall. He's actually very insecure so he speaks rarely, other character think he's cool, but inside he's just has social anxiety. Our face likes to troll him.
For Vampire: Gangrel, mixed raced, wild look, has dreadlocks, uses a bit of a sketboarding fashion (because we're playing in the 90's) aggressive and not very bright. Heavy hitter despise being a manlet, has a sarcastic attitude because, again, the 90's.

For instance my elf thief almost never hits with his shortbow. We joke in the table about it all the time and I still try but I've started throwing burning oil at enemies for more area effect.
The first trap we encountered (an crossbow bolt triggered with a string when opening a door) left the human fighter player super paranoid about traps because it almost killed his character and now he is sure to poke everything with his polearm before doing anything.

I too believe it's stupid to explain something we can feel. But we don't see what you look like, we need a picture or a description.

I actually have an anecdote about the opposite: during a campaign (I was/am the GM), I asked players to describe their characters in private so I knew what to take into account when playing NPCs, but due stuff that happened during the first sessions we rushed a bit and never had a moment to describe the characters, but we had a superficial idea of what they look like. Several months in, this NPC related to a PC background a huntress looking for the dragon who killed her father, mentions the scar covering her face, left by another beast. Everyone goes "wait you got a scar on your face??" and there's this moment of confusion, saying they can't picture her with a scar because it's not what they've envisioned all these months. Another player said that he would've acted different towards her had he known of the scar because his PC was a war veteran human fighter that covered his face with a mask due how mangled it was after war, and looks at scar, specially ones that affect beauty different than your average citizen.
Ofc we moved and and kept playing, but ever aince that moment I always ask 3 to 5 lines of character description at the start of the campaign, because more often than not what we consider a simple detail may be important for someone else, or change how the dynamics shape themselves, on top of whatever happens during the adventure.

If you stop and think, there's really only 2 kinds of people who care aout feet: women and footfags.
The former are fine, but the later have the same issue as furries: they're unable to separate the fetish from the thing. You can tell a footfag from a normal person by how they embellish feet, will make you look at the sole (which will be suspisciously detailed) and will decorate it in ways nobody outside women or fetishfags would, the same way you can tell a furry by the way they draw animals even outside porn.

But they're not. People do not analyze drawings, but they can certainly tell when something looks good, especially on the level of expression. If you have a nice pose, feet or no feet, on a subconscious level it will look better. For example, archetypes like monks, dancers or assassins use feet a lot to communicate and convey ideas like confidence in balance or kicks, how sneaky the ninja is, how fluid the feet motions along the dance is, etc. But any other situation where feet are brought to focus is usually a sign of foot fetishism, and also focus on parts that these characters that do uae the feet a lot don't, like the sole, feet accesories.

Vut that's why I made the furry comparison, because most of the time it's also "inofensive" luke Tarantino's feet. We all laugh at furries, but we all grew with them with Disney and many anthro shows.

All things considered, if feet stuff helps convey the character in some way, so be it. I had worse at the table.
