I can't actually think of any off the top of my head, but in any world there will necessarily be those with the will to make a better world but not the power to do so.

There's also, however, the option of acquiring powers that inspire and inflict heroism, altruism, benevolence, etc. on their bearers and the ability to hand them out, and then deliberately handing said powers to those who crave power in and of itself, knowing that they will slowly but surely be 'corrupted' by benevolence.

That's...generally a side effect of being a demon or infused with demonic forces, like in 40K/Fantasy/AoS or Doom Eternal?

I sometimes run into Cid, Gilgamesh, the Cloud of Darkness and Shinryu while travelling within the Final Fantasy multiverse.

Well, I USED to run into Shinryu and the Cloud of Darkness but the Cloud of Darkness joined my merry band of multiverse conquerors and I exterminated Shinryu after uncovering the Dissidia scam. And by "I", I mean I slapped a shitton of buffs on Shantotto and got her to blow him up.

>>88981742
The whole plot from what I gather is pretty danged unpalatable as part of the point. I guess the boring safe answer is "leave Japan, wait for the MC to solve everything". If you're absolutely bent on getting involved though uh, I guess making friends with Ren early on is a high risk high reward strategy because all the ineffable cosmic gods ushering the plot forwards wind up interested in him one way or another.

Er, "know" is too strong a word, I just meant we've seen what the MYSTERIOUS BIG THREAT the shipgirls were created to defend against actually looks like. Not that we know more about them other than big metal sea serpents from another dimension. Possibly created by the big metal cube from the Mirror Involution PV if the implications about Watatsumi are to be believed
>>
>>88981772
>Now that it's known what the Leviathans are and who the ACTUAL creator of the Sirens are, I am 100% on board with sending combat data between timelines to make the shipgirls powerful enough to blow up the interdimensional biomechanical sea monsters.
See, the Siren's problem is that their creator is autistic and so they're autistic too. They know misery makes METAs, and that METAs are a pale shadow of true Awakenings and go insane so you eventually can't control them, so they think they're just not inducing misery hard enough. They want a Bon Homme Richard, a living hurricane, they can control. That'll stop the Leviathans for sure, they just need to make boats suffer in the right way to truly Awaken. Because they are autistic, as I said before, they don't realize the obvious conclusion that maybe Awakening is from OTHER strong emotions like I dunno, LOVE, and they should be hooking boats up with (You) to Awaken instead of torturing them.
>>
>>88981819
BHR is not a Leviathan, Leviathans corrupt the mind and soul just by knowing about/interacting with them from our very brief exposure to them back in Decemner. They're Lovecraftian, BHR is just a very powerful, very insane META.

I haven't seen a specific number attached to the timeskip in my playthrough, but my best guess is somewhere between 10 and 13 years based on Branson and Rhondson (the married couple from Tarrey Town in the first game) now having a daughter who's right on the edge of becoming a teenager.
>>
>>88981885

Also, for my own sake I’m fanwanking the Naked and Alone drawback as taking just origin memories and also acting as a powerloss drawback to compensate, and also fanwanking that buying the Shrine of Resurrection lets me take the 300 CP version of Breathtaking Beauty for free. Also also, I doubt any pictures I could find approaching the 300 CP version of Breathtaking Beauty would be safe to post here, so I’ll say these are the before shots.

It’s a very common DC thing. It doesn’t matter if it’s vampires, cultists in owl masks or interstellar empires, (new enemy) gets a narrative head start in making the heroes shit their spandex not because it makes sense but because it’s a lazy way to tell the lowest common denominator in the audience that THIS NEW THREAT is VERY SCARY!

They aren't related, but how hard would it be to convince a chapter of Space Marines to THINK that Supreme Commander is the distant past of 40k? The Infinity War lasted from 2819 to 3844, so the timeline is definitely far back enough that the Space Marines have basically no knowledge of what humanity in general was like back then...

Well, yes, but I was just asking about the teleportation function of the Sheikah Slate, not the points you teleport to. Though given the existence of the Travel Medallion, maybe the Sheikah Slate is doing all the work and it just needs a way to designate a destination point.

>but it could allow you to replicate it using your properties as fast travel points.
Works for me. What the perk says about boosting your libido makes me think that happens because of a lack of sexual energy and can be countered in the obvious ways. This might be a bit of a stretch, but I’m for anything that lets me say I can’t teleport because I’m not horny enough.

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow has endless pot roast.

>>88982275
I mean that still raises a lot of questions. Space Marines aren't dumb, if anything they're quite intelligent so it's going to be a pretty hard sell for them to be faked into believing what you're trying to push. That said it probably wouldn't be too difficult for them to be convinced to fight on behalf of the UEF, since it would be very easy to portray the Aeon as heretics and the Cybrans as hereteks. The real problem though is that they are utterly meaningless in battles taking place in the SupCom setting, there is nothing a space marine company could do on a SupCom battlefield other than get killed.

I'm aware, I was just curious if it could be done at all. In fact I don't really want them to fight for the UEF for the most part or anything, instead possibly acting in advisory roles. My thought was more along the lines of seeing how the Infinity War was fought and wondering in awe at how far humanity had "fallen" from its grand heyday, maybe trying to contribute in what few ways they actually can with strategies, material sciences, and the like. Then watch their despair as they wonder at how they seemingly doomed the timeline when the Aeons win the war and Earth is destroyed, not realizing that it was going to go like that the whole time.

They might be able to help against the Aeon, they’re used to dealing with normal humans and many of the cases of Aeon mind reading are actually just them being really good at reading people. Space Marines would act similar to normal humans, but there are enough differences to throw the Aeon off.
>>
>>88982526
Doubtful, the Aeon can potentially mind control even fanatical enemies within moments of interaction if the psychic defenses in an ACU are down or inactive. Plus space marines are like 8ft tall, they're not subtle in the slightest and if their minds were truly so different they'd stick out like sore thumbs to the Aeon. There's really no roll where a space marine chapter is going to be meaningful in the Infinite War unless you're including their ships, in which case it's not so much the space marines as their naval personnel that matter. They can't even reasonably act as advisors because the battlefields of the infinite war are so different from what they are used to that their specialist information is largely useless, plus it's hardly needed since the commanders on the various sides of the infinite war have nearly a thousand years of experience and doctrine to fall back on to begin with.
>>
>>88982574
>Doubtful, the Aeon can potentially mind control even fanatical enemies within moments of interaction if the psychic defenses in an ACU are down or inactive.
To the SupCom lore file.
>It's only vaguely implied in the game, and hinted at further in the manual, but Zachary Arnold's backstory explains why he's so receptive to Burke in the Aeon campaign. Arnold is one of the longest-serving ACU pilots in the Infinite War, and during that time he's seen so many people die, comrades and civilians alike, and seen so much of the UEF's flaws that he's been on the verge of a nervous breakdown for a few years now. He's been throwing himself into the war to avoid thinking about it, but Arnold hates himself and what he fights for. All it takes is one good push by Burke to put him over the edge. This is the main bone of contention between Arnold and Samantha Clarke, and why she's the supreme commander (no pun intended) of the UEF military while Arnold serves on the front lines. Clarke still believes in the UEF, but Arnold does not.

>and if their minds were truly so different they'd stick out like sore thumbs to the Aeon.
Got a note on this too.
>It's part of why the Aeon are not actually telepathic despite how they sometimes seem. The Way promotes the exercise immense self-control and coming from a culture of subtle social interaction, Aeon find the body language of UEF and Cybrans incredibly easy to read.
>Princess Rhianne's abilities are very, very rare, and in-setting are explicitly not supernatural. They're the product of Aeon genetic engineering and nanotechnology based on Seraphim physiology, slowly breeding into themselves an innate ability to interact with the quantum realm. Rhianne is among the very, very few Aeon who expresses any form of that ability, and Marxon in-setting is speculated but not confirmed to be another.

Ironically enough, their ending is the best since it
1) Ends the Infinite War.
2) Not in a way that includes mass genocide. Ironic for this faction, since the only two who beat them out in /causing/ mass genocide are the long-gone Earth Empire, and the Seraphim, who only go fanatic purifier on everyone because they got genocided first by the EE.
3) Not in a way that isolates every planet for easy Seraphim pickings by nuking the quantum gate network.
>>
>>88982671
The way SupCom is, is that everyone’s a bad guy in one way or another. The UEF has the Loyalty Program, the Cybrans have the side effects of their raids, the Scorched Earth Node, and Brackman’s inability to see past the end of the Infinite War. The Aeon have a military policy of convert or die, at least until Marxon and took the first option off the table.

According to Su, at the time when looking through parallel worlds from his World Bubble, he was unable to find a world where Humanity defeated the Honkai.

Also GGZ is even worse. Like, worse off by orders of magnitude.
In HI3rd, the Will of the Honkai just wants a hug.
Meanwhile in GGZ the Will of the Honkai is an actively malicious entity.
The Herrscher of Wind was casually wrecking multiple universes once she escaped through the Sea of Quanta.
The there's this one character named Delta in GGZ, where she spreads what i could only describe as a Multiversal Corroding Pollen, not because she's doing it maliciously, but cuz its a basic function of her existence like breathing is to a human.
Then there's the local Cthulhu entities that are apparently more powerful than the Honkai.

Basically if HI3rd was a Wuxia. then GGZ is a Xianxia.

Fairies were stretchy even in that show. The human guy was either average or above average and still able to get it on with a relatively large fairy, which is a bit like if a normal woman was able to take an entire horse. The angel was just way too hung for even the biggest fairies to accommodate. We're talking third leg status.
>>
>>88983279
The original manga wasn't actually a hentai, it was only the anime that started truly pushing the line into hentai. It was just a parody manga about three bros rating different monster girls for sex, with no actual sex shone. So technically, Ishuzoku Reviewers isn't even a hentai setting-hence the lack of Hentai Logic to allow for Super Stretchy Fairies. And even then, a fairy who truly falls in love with someone and marries them gets special magic to perfectly stretch for them.

>the other timelines must be F U C K E D
The other anon said, but Su pulled a Doctor Strange and spent several centuries looking through hundreds of thousands of timelines and didn't find any where they won the fight against Honkai. The other timelines have to deal with being randomly popping up and destroying entire cities, countries, or even continents.
>Is it significantly more deadly than the combat-focused capstones like Rank-DuDu or MANTIS Soldier
You'd think so, but the Herrschers have wildly different feats of strength. As the jump mentions MANTIS Soldiers like Kalpas state he has killed four herrschers personally. Kevin killed the 7th. But then there are also some herrscherrs who killed thousands of MANTIS by themselves.
>When it says it controls an aspect of reality
The very end of the jump says what the various Herrschers have been known to do. The strongest known feat (outside of the final Herrscher) was the ninth Herrscher creating a blackhole that tore apart an entire continent. It's definitely far closer to Authority stuff than Avatar, but I don't really know enough about Fate to comment otherwise.

>>
>>88983468
It's a setting where prostitution is normal and accepted, even advocated for by the government, and where everyone is part succubus. It is not a stretch to think most women are prostitutes in that environment. Why wouldn't they be? There's zero stigma about it.
>>
>>88983488
The market can only bare so much supply before it runs out of demand anon.
>>
>>88983488
It's explained incredibly early in the series that it's basically a fig leaf to say that everybody is "part succubus" when in reality it's like 0.0001% succubus, if that, and existly purely to provide justification for whorehouses to keep going. And while whorehouses are the focus of the series, it's shown pretty often that they're nowhere near the be-all end-all of the world around them; there's a whole lot of shit going on in the background that isn't ever focused on very much, like adventurers, the existence of a heavenly realm, wars, so on and so forth. Nobody cares about it though, because the series isn't about that. It's about three dudes fucking prostitutes, rating their time, and then bragging about it at the local inn.

Hence why it's only 'most' and not 'all'.

A boat can be of any dimensions as long as it's a water-faring craft while a ship implies a certain degree of size for crew and engineering reasons. In fact the term "boat" is so generalised that submersible vessels are technically termed boats.

Neither of you are linguistically wrong but Superman is being more precise and accurate.

Reminder that it has been since established that you can take out a Nundu with a stunning charm.
As we know of one british wizarding thief who had a Nundu guard his home and every day before entering he used a stunning charm through the Keyhole.

The obvious conclusion being that 1 wizard with a wand is better than a 100 wizards without wands.

I have endured two, TWO FGO events in which the main theme of the Singularity me, the Nurse of Steel, Umu the Unkillable and the NP2 support Arjuna Alter that all my weaker Servants cower behind were sent to resolve was that idorushit has given Servants reality warping powers and some Servants are now addicted to the idea of being idorus. This summer event has been a godsend for my party's gameplay by giving me an AoE triple buster Berserker and an even more unkillable mermaid who hands out debuffs like STDs.

I have shed all of my dignity not related to finances.

I know this is definitely a gameplay thing but as a writer I'm still vaguely bothered by where the trainers come from, who builds the facilities and how long it takes, how the hell the haunted house I paid for is randomly digging up mysterious rewards for my pokemon and how the blazes a crate eats a bean.

>>88984336
To be fair, wasn't it a Nundu cub he basically beat into submission? I bet the kids could have fucked up Norbit too if they met him in Half-Blood Prince and really needed to kill a baby dragon for whatever reason. Maybe Nundus only get that dangerous when they grow up healthy in the wild.

>What about the two living happily in Newt's briefcase?
Newt is the Dr. Dolittle of wizards, he's probably the only guy who dares just be nice to the puffercats of death.
>The obvious conclusion being that 1 wizard with a wand is better than a 100 wizards without wands.
That is technically correct if that 1 wizard is named

At the beginning, but it's mentioned to constantly grow larger.
>I bet the kids could have fucked up Norbit too if they met him in Half-Blood Prince and really needed to kill a baby dragon for whatever reason.
Probably, but unlike Nundus, Dragons are said to have magic resistance, but even they can't take too many stunning charms.
Fans really underestimate how powerful they are, in Goblet of Fire we see that six stunning charms used at the same time are enough to take out a full grown Hungarian Horntail.
>That is technically correct if that 1 wizard is named Dumbledore or Grindelwald
Those are more powerful than even wanded wizareds. I was more making a point of how the Nundu is from Africa where they didn't use wands until recently, and we know it's really difficult to use charms without wands.

I am genuinely indifferent to Bryn about everything except gameplay. She was never a waifu I wanted, like Beryl I only even got into the game due to a razor focus on a girl who won't even be in it for 2 fucking years and c'mon-I've had Tomoe for ages now. I'm simply glad to finally have a triple buster deck Servant for unga bunga biggest damage, even if I can't meaningfully upgrade her without reaching into my stockpile of materials intended to max out Morgan as soon as possible.

I am seething for entirely different reasons. I am seething that I have 5 Honey Lakes, like 7 fucking Illyas...but not one extra Kiara. Damn this game, it's giving me the luck of other players. I don't even want Illya. Illya is shit. SHIT.

Yep. Got all dem princesses. I like the demon one being split into the BEEG one and the battle monstergirl one

Also interesting how they changed the Damsel ending. In the first version it seems like the Damsel knows full well what's going on and goes "Thanks for trying, I'll end this quickly". In the second version she seems a lot more panicky and upset while killing you. Either she's more innocent or a much better actress

Ghost princess end still the best end

>>88984459
I just figured it's like that one dragon the goblins kept chained up in the Gringotts dungeons, that was so fucked up with goblin swords that it was too scared to fight back despite easily doing so when a bunch of young adult wizards confused the goblins too much to get it out.

>Dragons
Oh I never underestimated them, I just distinctly remember it took less than a hundred wizards to take down more than one dragon during the Triwizard tourney. If we're being real though, stranger things have happened in the franchise than nerfing a big cat that was only ever stated to take a hundred wizards to bring down in a defictionalised book published years before the movie version of said cat was introduced.

Skadiless now, Skadiless forever. And I would gladly trade those Lakes for a second Kiara even if the additional overcharge damage doesn't actually seem to do much for her NP, it's all about stacking mental debuffs.

Ooh, I didn't notice the crowns thing. Also neat how they add a mirror just to have the narrator take it away, he REALLY doesn't want you realising that you're some kind of lizard person. Only with training. Even strong willed indivdiuals like harry fell under it after a few seconds of struggle the first ime.
Otherwise we see even highly trained wizards fall under it like Crouch(both Jr and Sr) and Thicknesse who was the head of the Department of Law Enforcement.
>develop that resistance with prolonged exposure
Eh, the closest to that was the cure on Crouch Jr being a bit weaker now and then over the years, but it never bought him more than a minute of clarity.
Overall it's still a spammable, difficult to resist, difficult to detect and extremly long lasting, and people under it are able to a act with perfect subtlity. Like how Draco Malfoy held the barmaid Rosmerta under it for over a year and nobody knew, hell he even made her use the Imperius on someone else on his behalf.

Would you believe me if I told you that the Festival Plaza almost makes sense in-setting?
Sophocles makes it pretty clear that the Plaza itself seems to be some sort of VR space rather than a full-on game abstraction like the Union Room given how he's mentioned a few times that he had to do server maintenance and that Team RR's attack on its battle facility was a hack. From there, we look at some of the other major players in the region - particularly, Kukii's wife Prof. Burnet. Before she moved to Alola (and got married), she was working in/near Unova on the tech for the Dream Radar a little while after N left Team Plasma. Between that and the research Fennel was doing for the Dream World, they had already found ways to pretty much magic up items from some method related to the smoke that Munna/Musharna produce. The Dream Radar just seemed to be a different way of achieving the same effect (manifesting objects and/or entities from an outside reality connected to dreams).

Cut from the first proof of concept tests in Unova to several years of research on dimensions later in Alola (exact timetable uncertain, but between the timeline confirmation tweet up to Gen 6 and the note on Grimsley's concept art in Sun/Moon, it's around 5-ish plus/minus a bit), and I don't think it'd be impossible to have a larger scale version of that system set up that just used whatever ambient dream stuff the Dream Radar was built to detect instead of more direct exposure to pink elephant laughing gas.

Voldemort did actually know about the love protection, but only purely theoretical, he had no idea that he actually invoked it.
When the Diary Riddle asked harry how he survived and Harry told him that his mother died for him, Riddle's response is basically "of course, that's a powerful counter spell", he just hasn't considered the implication, likely because he normally doesen't offer to spare people like he did with Lily.

Of course he had no way of knowing about the wand bullshit in book 4 and book 7.

>>
>>88984724
NTA, but Voldemort did legitamately put tons of people under the Imperius Curse, many of whom probably weren't much less publically racist than Malfoy.
Like Voldemort literally took over the ministry in the last book by having a Death eater putting the Imperius on the Head of the Department of Law Enforcement, and having him basically use the Imperius on all the other Department heads, before he surrounded and killed of the minister.
We know that they also used Imperiused people as fighters, like how Harry at one point recognized one of the 'Death Eaters' he was fighting as the guy that drives the Knight's Bus with a blank stare. Hell even a girl in Harry's Quidditch team was put under the imperius by Draco and used in his attempt to murder Dumbledore.

I wouldn't be surprised if most wizards didnt know somebody like that and are just more charritable.

>>
>>88984736
The Dark Powers are essentially a bunch of evil cosmic DMs who steal people from other worlds or unrelated settings and then place them in Ravenloft to do whatever with, essentially creating a torture chamber and throwing away the key.
>>
>>88984757
>many of whom probably weren't much less publically racist than Malfoy
Others perhaps but with Malfoy and so many other Slytherin purebloods it was blatantly obvious, especially to folks like Dumbledore who also had Snape to feed with clear intel.
>>
>>88984781
Alright, now I begin to understand-but that still doesn't explain things. It's pretty assholish, but Battler's probably seen worse on his chain so far-not even mentioning his own children with Lilith and all that. What was it about this that pushed him over the edge?
>>
>>88984757
I always wondered how putting multiple people under Imperious worked.
You give them orders, but with many people under your control, they got to be bumbling.
>>
>>88984650
Your overlooking that the Imperius Curse seems to do better based on blood purity. With pureblood wizards being most easily affected by it. However where are you going to find pureblood Wizarding World wizards outside of Harry Potter?
>>
>>88984789
Yes, but those assholeism weren't cosmically inherent to the design.
Which mindbroke battler's jumper due to first jump genesis.
>>
>>88984783
We do actually see him make some effort in public appearanes at some point, in GoF when Harry meets him alongside Fudge he notes how Malfoy makes an effort not to say anything oto bad about Hermione(who was also there) in front of the Minister. Worth noting that Fudge was also a Blood Purist, just less extreme.
>>88984802
you're not mentally connected to people you put under it. It's basically just making them loyal and obedient towards you, unaffeceted by any seperate casting. You sitll need to actually tell people your orders afterwards in most cases. Like how Draco made a point in communicating with Rosemrta via a charmed coin.

That is a pic of the Veil, the pointedly unexplained macguffin of Destiny's Lightfall expansion, and the crux of the Witness' plan to draw a triangle on the Traveller so he and his pyramid ships can go inside of it.

And amusingly, according to a leaked cutscene about the Witness' origins the Veil IS the Darkness, at least to the extent that the Traveller is the Light. As in it is the entity that the Witness' species made contact with and found a way to devise the Final Shape by somehow interfacing it with the Traveller. This has some INTERESTING implications for the Witness' plans, because in Lightfall the Witness explicitly wanted the Veil DESTROYED as part of his plans-and just switched to plan B when Calus died

It wasn't the thing that made me completely flip out in tyranny. But it was the thing that set me on that path.

As anon said, Ravenloft is a plane run by some very nebulously defined malign entities called the Dark Powers that go around imprisoning and ironically tormenting evil individuals. At the time nobody in Jumpchain knew about Vistani or Allisa, and it was assumed the Dark Powers were "You Lose" type beings.

As a result, it is a very bad idea to try to save innocents in Ravenloft. In the early version of my chain my Jumper was MERELY a supersonic cyborg ninja wizard who was pretty lackadasical until having several pokemon, a kung fu student and most importantly Elodie around made him feel like he had to live up to their image of him. So. He tried to save people in Ravenloft.

In my chain Ravenloft is kind of a club for malign entities of the cosmos. After making enough trouble beyond the scope of most D&D-based minions, the Dark Powers askedk a "guest" to do them a favour. And that's how Jumper met Nyarlathotep.

1/2

Pretty much, you could even have them imperius others for your, the curse is unbelievably broken in canon.
Though if it fails there is a slight chance of breaking a person's mind permanently.
One bad casting by a death eater resulted in a muggle politicians being stuck thinking he was a chicken, at the start of HBP he was being treated in a wizarding hospital, but they're not optimistic, probably because it's damage by very powerful dark magic.

Nyarlathotep proceeded to do things like take Jumper out to the soul-scarring court of Azathoth, abuse the companion respawn mechanic to murder my friends in front of me over and over again and screw up my brain to HEAR the Colour Out Of Space while using it to rot to death entire villages I tried to save. I didn't die in Ravenloft the first time around only because it had too much fun once it realised my willpower perks /prevented me from going as insane as a D&D human or Lovecraft human would have/

As has been pointed out, the Dark Powers are extremely ambiguous and mysterious. They pointedly punish the MOST evil people at all, even though they rule a place known as the actual Demiplane of Dread. On some occasions people have even been kicked out for being too innocent. It's extremely ambiguous if they truly are malign entities getting their kicks, cold arbiters of justice or something other.

That wasn't my Jumper's takeaway, though.

My Jumper's takeaway was that he screwed up and failed to protect the people dearest to him when the cards were down. It was his personal Eclipse moment, and he spent the next few jumps in a depressed funk even though his companions didn't even blame him because 1. the respawn is really really effective and 2. nobody could have reasonably foreseen the Black Pharoah strolling in.

But that moment of weakness is what EVENTUALLY drove my Jumper to, in other jumps like Hellsing that made him more inhuman or jumps like Dune that gave him an actual god complex, decide that with the amazing powers Jumpchain randomly bestowed on him he had an obligation to protect all worlds-and above all else, his friends-from malign entities like the Dark Powers.

By the time my Jumper actually came back to Ravenloft powerful enough to raze it to ash and torture the Dark Powers into pills, if Elodie wasn't there to stay his hand he would've been too inhuman to evacuate the innocent first.

Vecna being an author's pet (or rather in-universe, the Serpent's pet if you buy into his wank) who's allowed a fair shot at the Lady of Pain aside, like I said in early Jumpchain we were all much more ignorant and the few people who did have a good handle on D&D bought into the "The Dark Powers are You Lose characters" line. Especially because we had much fewer jumps. It was a time when the original Sonic jump, which doesn't give you Sonic's "I'm too chaos for Eggman to predict" status, was still overall one of the more powerful jumps out there.

So um. Knowing what we know now. Funnily enough yeah, even before the metaplot changed things to the extent that I was at least able to slam the doors shut around my cosmos before Nyarly jumped me in a dark cosmic alley, I probably did surpass the Dark Powers unknowingly before getting the chance to get payback.
>>
>>88984952

There's also the fact that the jumpmaker was a literal retard who baked that interpretation into the jump.

>>
>>88985001
I know it's an optional drawback, but that honestly makes it more retarded. Who gives you the extra CP for getting jumpchan/the benefactor killed??
>>
>>88984967
>They'll have to explain to me what make Dark Magic; Dark Magic. One moment it's just sssssssecret super powerful, one moment it's a spell making wounds that cannot be healed, while also being the previous.
dark magic is just an aspect of magic, not necesarrily more powerful, just something that seems to make magical effects innately more mean natured I guess, being innately viscious and hard to fix. It doesen't just apply to spells though, like some creatures are dark themselves and that does have an actual effects. Like wounds inflicted by a werewolf dont heal properly, even if the werewolf is in human form. We know dark potions are also a thing, like the potion Voldemort used to restore his body which includes forcibly taking blood from harry, Pettigrew sacrificing his arm, and taking the bone of Voldemort's father.
Otherwise all jinxes, hexes and curses are said to include some ammount of dark magic and they're also known as dark charms.
With jinxes having the least amount being more pranks, and curses having the most dark magic.
On the other hand counter-jinxes, counter hexes and counter curses also seem to include dark magic, but used in a more positive context to reverse/defend against offensive uses.

Though wizards in normal conservation only really talk about the worst kinds of dark magic as dark magic.
>>
>>88984789
Most of those other cosmic assholes are just roaming monsters. Even Nyarlathotep, despite being the current big bad for Battler's entire metaplot, acts mostly like a roaming cosmic jackass rather than what it's position as an Outer God would imply.

The Dark Powers being the entire foundation for Ravenloft and implicitly having the power to do whatever they wanted to other settings is the big thing that sent Battler on the cosmic tyranny path, due to nobody being aware at the time that there's shit even the Dark Powers had little to no say over. It was literally a different time.
>>
>>88984883
I'm sure the Witness has an actual endgoal in mind for trying to blow up its literal benefactor and the one who set it down the whole "existence is meaningless and we need to erase everything" path. I believe the campaign's called Die Vecna Die! (exclamation mark included). In the module it turns out the Lady of Pain is a member of a species of cosmic beings called the Ancient Brethren. Vecna becomes a god and entered Sigil by countering the Lady's ban of all gods from the city for a time. He was able to do this because some of the Language Primeval was confided to him by the Serpent, another Ancient Brethren.

Once again, Truenamers would be OP if they were allowed to have good mechanics.

>>88984973
In the earliest versions of my chain, while I already inflicted weird things that diverged me further and further from humanity like becoming cracking the Power of Order through intense meditation and generally messing with soul powers in Blazblue as well as becoming a holy plant monster in Hellsing, it was Dune where I actually committed to conquering the greater multiverse because I rolled A God I Am as an Abomination.

There was only ONE Type Moon jump at the very start y'see, and it had a lot more rolled stuff than the ones that ended up on the drive. Now that we have MANY, MANY more Type Moon jumps yeah-the current plot of my Fate arc is when I arrived in the KnK timeline I was originally planning to do something involving Motherboxes and botanical alchemy that started to turn me into a Saver, but being increasingly embittered by every timeline I went to and eventually the (nebulous bad thing I can't write out until Val fully updates Garden of Avalon that...MIGHT be a lot of people in Camelot realising their timeline were going to be pruned, and sacrificing themselves to me begging for me to find a way to save them. >>88985415
>So without Carmen, there would be no Distortions?
There would probably still be Distortions, since things like Bloodfiends exist. But the numbers would vastly, VASTLY decrease.

>Would people still be able to gain EGOs eventually?
Yes. Distorting was never intentional, but gaining EGO and curing the disease of mind was. The entire goal was to save people - Carmen simply twisted that after she went full schizo.
>>
>>88985437
Well, that's good enough for me. I'll still have to have some measures in place to deal with Distortions, but if they'll be far lesser than I think I'll be comfortable spreading the Light around in my own empires...

Technically it's even dumber than that. It's that the antagonist of this world hijacked your chain from them and used something form their world to empower you. As part of some plan so screw you over for a power up.

Assuming you actually pick stuff this means that the drawback is Jumpchan/the benefactor giving you the option of making it so that they retroactively screwed up horribly.

EGOs and Distortions happened even before Carmen fused with the light, and Abnos are from the collective consciousness of humans and Carmen has nothing to do with them. Light is innately both good and bad because humans are both good and bad and of varying character.
>>
>>88985643
What would Gohan mutate into if he was exposed to Light, and would it change without Carmen being there in it?
>>
>>88985369
Carmen makes the EGO/Distortion phenomenon more common, she doesn't tilt the balance of it itself. She wants more people to be true to themselves, it's just that when confronting their issues in the Light the vast majority of people are little bitches that Distort instead of overcoming them and getting EGO. She makes that event more common, not have worse outcomes.
>>
>>88985649
Depends on his deep seated psychosis and personal hang ups.
>>
>>88985653
Carmen spends literally 99% of her time pushing people into Distorting who wouldn't otherwise. Leviathan even shows she tried to do this to Vergilius as soon as she was given the chance. She very much makes the overall situation much worse, even if she's not the cause of Distortion/EGO.

Which means that legally speaking, whatever you do is classified an act of nature, not an act of a thinking being. People won’t arrest you any more than they’d arrest a hurricane or a typhoon, and if you heal someone, it’ll be classified as a miracle, not you stepping in. Of course, if you aren’t actually that powerful, this, uh, might be somewhat problematic. Note: This effect will only last as long as you’re not actively at war with them. >but her English voice seems just a little off to me
nta but I get that. Personally, I'd headcanon that her voice is whichever actress from among the multilanguage options you prefer even if she's not speaking the language of that particular dub. Mostly because they did a smart but silly little thing where unless the character actually has speaking lines that matter, they default to their JP voice. So nearly every NPC's voice stabs will e the same "OooOoh~" no matter which language you choose. It's most evident with characters like Kohga who went back to his usual voice from BoTW even though he got a new one in AoC.

Keep in mind that apparently up to Lily's particular death, no mother sacrificing herself for her son in any circumstance was ever potent enough to activate this particular form of ancient magic.
>>
>>88986851
Voldemort would have spared Lily and she chode to die for her son instead.
James on the other hand had no chance of survival and would have died regardless of his decision.
It's not that complicated.

Same thing happens in the last book when Harry chose to die to save the defenderd of Hogwarts when he could have fled instead, geanting all of them this protection.
>>
>>88986851
You're forgetting that James was always going to die. Voldemort was always going to kill him.

But Lily was offered a choice. She could've walked away and she would've lived. But she didn't. And the choice made all the difference.

Same thing with Harry. He was offered the choice to die so that his friends might live. And he chose to die for them.

James could have fled.

Alternatively, that comes with the usual implication that nobody in Wizarding history has ever died rather than fleeing, meaning every wizard ever is ultimately a coward
>>
>>88986931
The important part is being offered the choice to live. If they were going to kill you anyway, you don't get to put up the love protection.

Also, both Dumbledore and Voldemort talk about it as if similar things have happened before. It's known to them but it is very rare.

It's that simple. If it was, like, a WWI-tier war and Harry was the sole blood wardened child in his country, it would be absurd, but the wizard population is kind of tiny. It wasn't even a war, more like 30-something rich racist guys rampaging around the country while 100-something cops flailed around trying to stop them.

I would think so. Harry Potter during his school days excelled at the trickery the Titans used to beat Mumbo and he is more consistent. If its Adult Harry he is a skilled duelist who can quick draw and cast from a wand far faster than Mumbo.

Mumbo's got more raw power, but it doesn't matter if Harry gets the first or last shot.

All I hear from this is that when you need to kill a defenceless baby after breaking a magic promise you should just stab the little fucker. Or use literally any other method than a spell that appears to cut the targets souls connection to their body.
>>
>>88987076
I've been telling this to the idiot autists here for years, yet they STILL insist Avada Kedavra is somehow superior to Fiendfyre, Sectumsempra or any other killing curse that kills the target through anything other than love-parried magical energy.

I think it's the pitch/intonation combined with an element of her her design. The protection burned the fuck out of Quirrel ten years later when Quirrel put his hands on Harry.
Using a knife wouldn’t have helped.

Also, your belief is influenced by hindsight. Prior to Halloween 1981, there is zero reason for Voldemort to not use the unblockable, unstoppable spell that just fucking works.
>>
>>88987076
Why even go inside the house, which they had ample time to trap? Cover the property with anti-apparition jinxes and lather the place with Fiendfyre or a bunch of those explosion curses - not the shitty ones that can barely break a padlock, but the one that destroyed an entire store.
>>
>>88987084
Again, if this protection blocks the Ultimate Death Spell, it would block those other ones too
>>
>>88987076
You only hear that because you're a secondary.
Harry was protected against Voldemort period, the method doesn't matter. Every would rebound on the user.
The first book literally ends with the guy Voldemort possessed burning to death after trying to strangle Harry

Also the Killing curse doesn't "cut the targets souls connection to their body" it just straight up kills.

If you're already an evil wizard there's literally no reason to use a quick killing but unblockabe spell outside of combat. Truthfully you should use something that kills incredibly painfully, and even if you survive completely inhibits your ability to fight further. It has the added benefit of hurting enemy morale, rather than a quick painless death in combat they get to see all their friends and family members slowly die some organ rotting spell, complete memory wiping or just mercury that's been turned into air and is now spread literally everywhere in their bodies.

Worth remembering that Voldemort deceibed the feeling of being hit by the rebounded Killing Curse as the most painful thing he evwr experienced.
And even Harry still remembers the immense pain being hit by it caused when he was a baby.

It being painless is just something from edgy fanfics where Harry is "Dark but not evil" which claim that a levitation spell is just as bad as the Killing Curse which can be used for Euthnesia and whatwver.

NTA, but the simplest explanation is because it wasn't relevant to him. It basically requires you to give someone the chance to live, which Voldemort doesen't usually do, and then it requires them to sacrifice their own life, something he personally just doesen't understand.

He probably just forgot, since it’s almost certainly some obscure thing that comes up in a book once or twice as a sort of “Oh, BTW this is a thing”

Alternatively, because it seems to be so rare, it could be that all the references to it are nebulous “and lo, Lord Whateverthefuck was slain but in his death, his love for Lady Cocqueonface allowed her the power to slay Count Von BigMcLargeHuge” rather than explanatory “To weaponize the power of love, you have to meet X, Y, and Z requirements, and then A, B, and C needs to happen”

Fenrir wasn't a werewolf at that point. It was morning time, not a full moon night.

>Is it possible to transfer the "memory" from one wand to another wand?
not him, but this is only possible between brother wands, as in wands that share cores from the same creatures. When Voldemort's and Harry's wands clashed they started exchanging memory of the spells they used with each other, and as Harry wond that encounter through his willpower his wand was from then on able to use that knowledge against Voldemort. It's what directed Harry's wand later to by itself create Golden Flmaes to destroy Lucious Malfoy's wand when used by Voldemort.

You could probably do something like that in a less hostile encounter, as in one pottermore story Rowling wrote it's revealed that two brother wands fighting side by side have their power magnified immensly which allowed two young brother to temporarily match a experienced and power dark witch in combat.

So its particularly the core that stores the memory? So can one transfer a core from one crafted wand to another crafted wand in order to achieve similar effect but improve the functionality of the wand?

For example moving a phoenix feather core from one wand using a wood from our world to another wand with a more supernaturally strong wood in a different setting like wood from a world tree?

>use his blood to create yourself a body that can touch him, turns out he just happens to have the one other wand in existence that is a brother to your own, so you can't kill him with it
>decide to just use a different wand to kill him, turns out his wand learned from your wand and can just destroy any wand you use
>decide to obtain a powerful wand form legend to finally counter him, turns out he actually became the master of the wand without you knowing, because he randomly ripped a different wand from someone elses hand earlier that day. So your spell rebounds and finally kills you

could work if the core is intact. We do read about one instance of someone trying to reuse a wand core, but it was already destroyed so nothing came of it.

not him, but harry potter magic is heavily associated with the soul. As in some souls just have powers that others lack. Magic is also said to be 'a gif that blooms in rare souls' or something along those lines.
We also see something like this more literally when the piece of Voldemort's soul that attached to Harry gives him the ability to speak Parseltongue a magical ability Voldemort possessed.

So it's gonna be difficult to transfer to others outside of turning them into Horcruxes.

The easy answer is the Aegis Sword because it's the one with a pair of waifus attached to it, but if I'm judging the swords based on their own merits then honestly I have to dock most of the Monados a few points because the sword itself is usually not particularly important or powerful. Usually they derive their abilities from some other character who provides all the actual power, either Alvis or P&M or A. Noah's sword doesn't even have that going for it, it's just a normal blade that has Lucky Seven hidden inside. So I think the winner for me is Shulk's Monado Replica. It may not have godlike power like the others but the power it does have is all its own.

Pyra and Mythra are much cuter though.
>>
>>88988083
Aren't the Monados power directly tied to the will of it's user?

To be fair, Hagrid is a fucking gigachad. As a Half-Giant I doubt a shotgun blast to the face would do more than annoy him. In the books he didn't bend the end of Vernon's gun. He took it and tied it into knot like it was made of rubber. He's also resistant to magic, effectively invulnerable to minor charms and curses and resistant even to the spells of Death Eaters trying to kill him.

So trying to compare Hagrid t a regular wizard is ridiculous.

not your question, but even if you cant teach her HP magic, giving her a HP wand would likely still be immensely useful for to strengthen and focus her powers and her control over them.

>>
>>88988109
Sure, but Rowling was clearly doing this to set a theme for the rest of the seting in that muggles are below wizarding concerns.

Another wizard would've likely just waved his wand and disarmed Dursley or turned into a snake or something.
>>
>>88988083
Pretty sure L7 IS the Monado.
>>
Reminder that, according to Rowling, all wizards are actually Jedi. Their magic gives them moderately superhuman reflexes and an instinctive subconscious precognition which is how they're able to do all of this crazy shit they pull off while dueling. And also how they're able to play Quiddich at all.
>>
>>88988157
I dont remember that at all and to be honest they iften seem to be slower than nonwizards when it comes to reaction time.
>>
>>88988167
It was her WoG explanation to how wizards are able to do a lot of stuff that is totally impossible for any human, including like the entirety of Quiddich. It's also how Dumbledore and Voldemort can fight at speeds so fast Harry can't even perceive them as more than glimpses and flickers of motion as they apparate around hurling spells and counter-spells at each other. So that's presumably the upper end of it.
>>
>>88988157
I am quite certain she never said this.
>>88988167
Depends on the wizards, some like Lupin and Dumbledore are occasionally mentioned as drawing and using their wands so far Harry can barely see it.
>>
>>88988102
It's been a while since I played Xenoblade 1 but I believe that was said of the original Monado before its true nature was revealed much later in the game. IIRC what's actually responding to the wielder's will is either Alvis or one of the other trinity processors in the case of the other ones, not the sword itself.

There's a similar scene in XB2 where the Aegis Sword gets destroyed only for Rex's party members to turn around and tell him that the sword doesn't matter nearly as much as the waifu attached to it because Blades can just remake their weapons out of ether whenever they want. I think that's meant to apply retroactively to how Alvis and the XB1 Monado work too, but I could be wrong.

>>88988141
It sure would be nice if Riku would ever give us a straight answer about where it came from and how it was made.
>>
>>88988027
I find it depends on what's meant by that. For instance, if an already-decrepit civilization is on the brink of collapse, Jumper's more inclined to help the survivors adapt to their new, less secure existence than to try holding up the edifice. A society facing an outside context problem will be more likely to get a straightforward save and a "don't blow yourselves up, that would make what I just did pointless" warning. That kind of thing.

Depends on the general presence or lack of hostilities between the various locals and what stage of imperilment the world is in. Can range anywhere from BTFOing the thing(s) menacing the region/world/setting to being more hands-off and just staking a claim to an empty territory between some settlements for a new trade hub, or holing up in a mobile base/fortress and taking potshots at raiders while plucking individuals out of their situations as suits Jumper's whims.
Figure it's better to let people retain their agency than waste resources in a misguided attempt to save everyone only to end up with what amounts to a society of bio-androids/p-zombies and that many fewer things to give to them because of the cost of setting up that system. Jumper already has plans for distributing populations of synthetic races so there's no real merit in working backwards from a naturally occurring species when it's far easier to just sift out the genetics that might be of worth for another physical base.

Honestly "the least you could do" seems fine, while other perks serve to let you potentially assume mantles of leadership through hard work and effort the perk in question seems more tuned towards just sort of falling into leadership positions via chance and luck, letting you get positions through happenstance that you might normally never be able to get.

Anon, Jenova is a hivemind alien. All of her cells are connected to her consciousness which wants to rejoin into a single organism and continue its apocalyptic designs. That's literally the entire concept of the Reunion. The cells of Jenova not only have the power to physically alter a host, it can also mindfuck them by altering their mind and even their soul. The whole reason Cloud thinks he's Zack is because the Jenova cells inside him imprinted onto Zack. Which not only made Cloud look like Zack, it also altered his personality to be more like Zack and even gave him a partial replica of Zack's memories. Including memories that Cloud himself, let alone Jenova, had no way of even knowing.

Do not shoot yourself up with the sapient cells of an alien super-organism with a long history of taking over its hosts, shapeshifting them, and/or mindfucking them towards its own ends.

Learn traditional magic. Many of the visual gags in old cartoons include effects that only happen when the character isn't directly with line of sight with the audience, and techniques such as sleight of hand used by magicians are about manipulating an audience's attention. The end result of "How did you do that?" would be the same.
>>
>>88988666

>>
>>88988722

Humans. Whether pirates or marines or revolutionaries, they have the most generic mook enemies armed with generic sabers or rifles. Bitch tier humans exist no matter where you go in the setting.
>>
>>88988751
Doesn't that mean you just have a blank version of Jenova? Like one devoid of will? So shooting yourself up with too many of those is going to end with you losing your identity as Jenova supersedes your own consciousness in the event that your ego breaks down. You'd end up suffering ego death as Jenova, fully believing that it's still you because it has your personality and memories, takes over your body. Like what presumably happened with Sephiroth.
>>

>>
>>88988900
He was already kind of a dindu before the mind break. He was basically Sora from Kingdom Hearts where he wanted to fight for his friends, but then he lost all his friends and found out he was a space alien and went nuts.
>>
>>88988813
I mean, the Jump says anything created with Sterile Sample wouldn't be under Jenova's will, but if you consider the dissolution of self into Jenova more of a natural function of its biology rather than an active effect it triggers, that doesn't matter much.
Mind you, by that logic one of those "You're Always You" perks would help, since you're not being actively subverted but instead just "diluting" yourself with Jenova, and since it can't influence you directly it can't give you geostigma or something.
>>
>>88988900
Sephiroth was always a good guy in his backstory (as much as a Shinra pawn can be), it's just that he has a breakdown when he thinks Jenova is his 'mother' and goes evil (probably from Jenova's own influence taking him over.) Making a game showing Sephiroth as a young man being the guy we see during the initial part of Cloud's flashback in the original game isn't a retcon or whitewashing.

Do you mean (((influence))), or are you talking about something else?
>>
>>88989686
Off the top of my head it's Astolfo, d'Eon (Who can gendershift), Paris (shota trap) and that one Chinese dude who is arguably more of a bishie.
>>
>>88989836
Jews hate gingers, so you could consider it (((influence))) to erase gingers.

Very little. Riddle was fucked up long before he got to Hogwarts. It might delay his inevitable rise to power as the Dark Lord since it'd be more difficult for him to recruit followers and gather resources in other Houses. But on the other hand, if he ends up somewhere like Ravenclaw it's likely the world will end up with a vastly more powerful and intelligent Dark Lord when he does rise to power.

I nuked Belka.

>>88989848
There are way more. There's also Alexander, Prince of Lan Ling, Fuma Kotarou, Fuuma Kotarou, Sieg, etc.

What if I drop in an OC genki girl waifu who is in love with Tom Riddle and deeply determined to help him find beauty and happiness in life, and can see through his manipulations basically effortlessly? Same age as Tom Riddle and starts Hogwarts at the same time as him, so they grow up together.
>>
>>88989883
None of those are femboys. They're not especially feminine at all, they're just twinks. Femboys take it a step further in basically being traps without the crossdressing.

Rama?
>>
>>88989906
Rama might be a better example because him and Sita are essentially physically identical.

Of course jumper kisses his bros.
Gentle little smooches on the top of the head while giving them a hug.
>>
>>88989944
You fucking know it.
>>
>>88989944
What? No, that's gay. Jumper's mouth is only for sucking cock.

>>88989944
How else would he prove he's straight?

By taking a thousand dicks in the ass without cumming?

Really alot of bishounen, cute anime boys and hell just regular anime boys could pull of the femboy look if they crossdressed.

>>88989890
He turns evil anyway because apparently being a rape baby makes you conceptually evil according to Rowling.
>>
>>88989991
I mean, based.

>>88989995
No you don't.

>>88989991
It was the broken home more than the rape IIRC.

Personally I've always thought it was Dumbledore's bullshit back when he decided the proper way to chastise a small orphan child for stealing trinkets is to make him think all his worldly belongings have been destroyed in a fire.

Followed by being sent from a nice safe castle back into the literal london blitz

Her exact words were:

>Q: How much does the fact that Voldemort was conceived under a love potion have to do with his inability to understand love is it more symbolic?

>J.K. Rowling: It was a symbolic way of showing that he came from a loveless union -- but of course, everything would have changed if Merope had survived and raised him herself and loved him.
>>
>>88989997
nah, nah. I do.
>>
>>88989973
That's the Prince of Lan Ling, who you said doesn't count. Thought you were talking about this guy.
>>
>>88990025
Yeah, yeah, you don't.
>>
>>88989991
Rowling actually said the opposite and that it's purely symbolic, fans just pretend she didn't.
>Ravleen: How much does the fact that Voldemort was conceived under a love potion have to do with his non-ability to understand love is it more symbolic
>J.K. Rowling: It was a symbolic way of showing that he came from a loveless union – but of course, everything would have changed if Merope had survived and raised him herself and loved him.
>J.K. Rowling: The enchantment under which Tom Riddle fathered Voldemort is important because it shows coercion, and there can’t be many more prejudicial ways to enter the world than as the result of such a union.

Fantastic Beasts starts the same year Tom is born.

are we sure that Ricrod isn't too based?
>>
>>88990030
I was just too lazy to look up if the Chinese name in your post was the same guy I was talking about so I just painted him with the same brush as the rest for simplicity's sake (and before you say anything, yes, I remember what shota Alexander, Kotarou, and Sieg look like.)

Genshin has more femboys than Fate does. But >>88989823 is the real answer.

>>88990043
>Loveless union
Is there really any difference between using your appearance to convince someone they're "in love" with you vs using a potion? Either way you're just psychologically manipulating them.

I didn't care that much so I stoppef reading.

You would expect that to apply to a shitton of Nobles/Purebloods from earlier eras, then, plus almost anyone from an Indian background.

I fucking hate that some 'people' in this thread can't shut the fuck up for a single goddamned thread about their trap femboy bussy shit. You all should unironically just go to the Discord so you can do your cringy ERP "why are boys so cute" shit and post as many feminine dicks as you want somewhere where it'd actually be appreciated. Holy fucking goddamn, do you people ever get BORED of posting the same shit on a weekly, if not daily basis?

>>
>>88990180
Haven't you heard? Trap are transphobic, and "femboys" don't exist except as precursors (i.e. "eggs") to latent transwomen. Talking about traps is not allowed in woke circles, which are strongly anti-trap.

MojaveCourier LITERALLY posted a massive Harry Potter Jump earlier. Meanwhile you faggots are asking the same inane "w-what are some cute boys in Jumpchain 0///0" bullshit that happens every fucking day already.

Just stop it; it's not funny, it's not interesting, it's fucking obnoxious.
