Ok. So, a friend of mine who is new in gming in general, has an idea of a low fantasy campaign set during the peloblablabla war. The one of Sparta vs Athens. So, I was wondering if any of you knew of a system for such campaign. His only experience is with dnd 5e, so, uh, take that into account

As far as he told me, the idea of the game is, besides possibly helping either side in the war, we would be traveling in a trireme, probably having adventures too besides the war thing.

Have you looked into Mythras? It seems like a good fit although it is a bit crunchy. The default setting is a low fantasy ancient Greece-ish setting iirc.
