If a creature is enchanted with an aura like Clout of the Dominus and it resolves, granting the creature shroud, can the aura be stripped from the creature via something that could exile an enchantment or such at a later time?

Has this been the most disappointing spoiler season in recent memory? Is WOTC itself beginning to get burnt out by its endless output, or were they really just cucked that hard by some Mexican with a whole lot of leaks?
>>
Am I the only one who doesn't get what's so special about nu elesh norn? I mean sure it's a good card but some people are acting like it's game breakingly powerful. I was checking data on edhrec (yeah, I know) and it seems that every commander that ever even considered having an ETB effect in the 99 is now running it.

The funniest example I found was Derevi's data. According to the decks there neither Panharmonicon nor Torpor Orb was worth running in this deck, but all of a sudden elesh norn is a must include? I just don't get it.
>>
>>87489582
I also hate that card.
>>
>>87490268
It's cause it does both that people are going ga-ga over it. Also cause sheldor said "This card is not bazinga"
>>
>>87490306
It's all just hype in my book. So you're telling me all these people who until now didn't care about having stax cards in their decks nor running panharmonicon all of a sudden care very, very much for this card? Give me a break.
>>
>>87490268
EDHonlys are idiots
>>
>>87490268
It's the Mono-White effect. These days, even semi-powerful cards always gets overhyped until it's actually out in the wild. I still expect Mother of Machines to see plenty of play regardless, but remember that we're in a time of pure speculation right now. The playerbase will always exaggerate a new card's effects.
>>
>>87490252
It's the burnout man. If we're feeling it as consumers just now I guarantee you that the employees of wizards were feeling the level we're at years ago and want to fucking die at this point. Especially considering corporate made an absolute ass out of the company they (sort of) work for and turned the name "Wizards of the Coast" into a laughingstock to normies over the course of two months. I legitimately think that if hasbro survives, they may retire the WotC brand name cause they fucking destroyed its value.
>>
>>87490327
What other formats are even worth playing nowadays?
>>
>>87490341
They'll either exaggerate how good something is, or downplay how good a thing is. It's always one or the other.

Thanks, and I'll keep Diplomatic Immunity in mind. My local group is fairly casual, but one of the players has a rather frustrating merfolk deck and it'd be nice to have a bit of tech in my deck to keep my powerhouses from being stunlocked in one form or another.
>>
>>87490476
I prefer "uninteresting."
>>
>>87490341
>I still expect Mother of Machines to see plenty of play regardless
I do too. And I do consider her a poweful card that many decks will want to run. What confuses me is, why weren't these idiots running cards that do at least half of the things this cards does? They might not even be overvaluing the card, but did it take some retarded article about this card needing to be banned for all these people to want to run effects that already existed in other cards?
>>
>>87490487
That's a subjective sentiment and not a valid evaluation of the format. :\

>>
>>87489857
I said "good or bad." As in you can shit on the set.
Personally, I agree with a lot of the anons that said something like 'I should be excited, but I'm too burned out,' but besides that there's just not a lot that's getting me too worked up. There's way too much "(X effect of existing card). (Y set mechanic)," which has been a thing for far too long imo. It makes a lot of the sets feel same-y when looking at a lower-rarity perspective. And, yeah, there are some rares that do look fun, but that's a given for every set and not what I judge one by.
That's to say nothing of the story. I'm genuinely burned out of fucking Kaya and Vivian already. Fun game: count the number of standard-legal blocks starting from Ravnica 3 onwards (count the latest Innistrad adventure together) and see how many of them lack one or the other.

The shit of gracelessly killing off old characters in order to shill new ones is something I started to grow tired of years ago. It's the company saying "no, you like THIS character now," and never have I agreed.
(And don't give me that shit of 'hurr durr they gonna cure them,' That's up in the air for Vraska, Ajani, and Nissa, Elspeth is redshirt, Jace is probably going to be tossed into Sorin-levels where he just becomes a cuck, Nahiri's going to be dead because they don't know what to do with her other than 'equipment lol', and they had no use for Tibalt).

There is some stuff I like about the set, but I genuinely felt more excited for Oath of the Gatewatch of all things.
>>
>>87490908
Pauper is fun. Sometimes you just want to turn Nivix Cyclops and Kiln Fiend sideways without having to stop to read 25 lines of text on some Modern Horizons 2 uncommon.
>>
this game has nothing of value in it left

Well, my proliferate deck is mono B.
>>
>>87492087
Okay sure "YOU"RE" not rhetarded but like- It was pretty clsoe you have to admit.
This card is bonkers though right.

Like, even if your green deck does literally nothing to do with tokens this card is simple just a great addition because its like a 1 mana 5/5 in the end game and if you don't deal with it, it just keeps growing and growing and growing.

And that's assuming you don't combo off it at all. The only thing this card does is potentially take a draw from a sorely needed card but like, every deck be needing some dudes, right?
>>
Who asked for this? Why would you ever play this?
>>
>>87492122
I think it's an okay onedrop for any G deck that proliferates or otherwise uses counters but ultimately it can be chump blocked by a goblin. I definitely wouldn't call it bonkers, it needs extra support to actually be threatening. I would probably put it in any G proliferate deck though.

For me, it depends on if you always want source of disposable artifacts in the CZ to get the ball started, or you want a payoff for the artifacts that you are running.

So he's a dipshit. Got it.

A bit sad that he dragged all your games down, but people like that have no shame, so I feel for you, Anon.
I played with several of those types before, really petty people: they love to call out all your mistakes but will 100% profit off your confusion if you don't understand a certain reaction, and lie to your face about what you're supposed to do, and without missing a beat, they'll let you screw yourself over.
What's even funnier is that these faggots come to every event, and my first exposure to these types was at Prerelease events, a decade ago.

Glad I have a group of close friends to play Magic with, cuz the local scene is dead in my eyes, it's filled with nothing but rich boomers and late millennials who treat this children's cardgame like it's the most important aspect of their lives, with 200% seriousness.

Good luck on your next pod, Anon. May your draws be fire and your opponents act chill.

I'm not reading the rest of your post, but I was just thinking about that.

I don't think she's going to die. I think as part of their attempts at rotating the planeswalker cast, they're going to leave Elspeth dead and replace her with a sparked Thalia.

I keep a box with 100 sleeved up bulk commons ready. When I want to try a new commander I print out some black and white proxies, cut them up and put them in the sleeved cards. After that I just adjust the deck for basic lands and play with it a few times, if it does well and I'm not tired of the commander by the time I've played a few games with it I build it for real. Then I simply throw away the proxies and keep those 100 sleeved cards ready for when I want to try out a new deck.

Honestly just a retarded post. Legal squirrels you can run are NINE cards. So tribal here is already a mixture of going wide, since you'll be relying on tokens, aristocrats, by the nature of chattering ability. And voltron is a "sure" because you can build any general as voltron if you decide to do so. Chattering is very very slightly better at it IF your opponents are playing green or IF you draw into yavimaya quick. Alternatively you could just do voltron again on any general and put in the myriad of easily accessible unblockable effects. So you have one avenue to build the card, which encapsulates a few themes but really all these themes are already tied. The difference between aristocrats and going wide is 5 cards.

I've thought about her but i just found draining with ayara to be more fun than the two extra cards. Nothing beats the feeling of Szat's Willing and shitting out ten 0/1 thrulls that each drain the table for 1.

you can do the same on a Braids deck. She's just a value engine, and a bit of damage early on
>>
>>87500866
braids chips for like 8 over a game
ayara's drain is absurd with token production
>>
>>87500789
I will never understand how could anyone find a deck like Ayara interesting. It's just autoplay goodstuff.

>>
>>87500882
yes but with ayara you will have like 2 or 3 cards in hand by turn 5, and Braids in the same time will have you a full hand and a bit of graveyard built up. I think the strongest way to build Braids is with heavy discard theme though, Ayara seems like the superior aristocrat commander for mono black, maybe that new guy from phyrexia that doubles ltb triggers will compete too.

Ya I was thinking it could be useful because one of the deck’s main strategies is MLD so ideally mana will be at a premium

See, I was thinking about making a midrange aristocrats deck with him.
>>
>>87499672
It's great in decks that care about specific mana rocks like the new urza or decks that want to make things artifacts, or in 4/5 color decks with a chromatic lantern or chromatic orrery.
Otherwise it's shit though. Better off just having anouther mana rock.
>>
>>87500040
I spend countless hours constructing decks that are fun.
The only deck I have that I don't like to play is just too fast, still fun, but too fast for my play group.
