>>87460003The winner has a YouTube channel. When he came 2nd in NovaCore 7 months ago he posted his lists and battle reports on it so I'd keep an eye on it. I didn't place high enough to play anyone in the top 5, I did play a top 10 Hassassins though, his list was fairly standard.
It will be Hexxer and 8-Ball, Eclipse and Final Boss at once.
>>87463979What will be? A foursome?
New video when?
>>87464441No, a plane crash where they all die and never make it into Infinity.
Are my tokens still good?
>>87466566Looks good to me. What is pos? Your army homos or something? Why not just say possessed?
>>87466713that is a lot of letters
>>87467275Ahh yes, of course. Suppressive Fire really rolls off the tongue, I can see the consistency.
>>87466713>>87467909The shortened 'POS' token is an official one, the other one is not.
Anyone read the new book yet? Is it any good? If only the release of the physical version wasn't so staggered from the Kindle release.
>>87469952I haven't read it yet but I intend to next month.
>>87464441No, aristos pack for bakunin.>>87466392You are a weirdo.
>>87469952I thought it wasn't out yet?
>>87469987Kys, queer.
>>87470579How very antagonistic and violent. What qualifies me as queer? Mentioning the possible aristos that would be right at home in bakunin or stating that hating on them is weird?
Daily reminder tohaa is good because they weren,t flooded with sectorials/ filler profiles, fuck you gutier.
Aristeia chads rise up
>>87470755You can get the whole Aristeia board as a terrain piece in Infinity proper.
>>87470803Where from?
>>87470738Are anons saying Tohaa I good because Rob Shepherd won CanCon with it? Coz that was his 8th tournament win, and he's been to tournaments with 6 different armies according to his profile.
>>87470880Its stability at performing well lead to this conclusion.>>87470755Which matt/terrain is that? Looks lovely.>>87470738There are plenty of fillers, anon. Kosuil may very well considered one, or kumotail, or reex, or kotail.
>>87470873Battle Kiwi.
>>87470880Tohaa have been secretly a top tier faction for something like a decade.
>>87466566How'd you make those?
Which models/faction is best for the have the trenchcoat aesthetic?
>>87471238Hassasins maybe?
any pre-recorded seminar or some news from Can-Con??
>>87471238Ramah.

>>87471934Tunguska is for criminals and homosexuals, for it is of Nomad ilk. Allah curses your testicles, infidel.
>>87471238Check out O-12
>>87472865Is their vision augmented?
>>87470317The kindle version came out on the 18th. Now I'm hoping that some mind anon will rip it.
>>87474726EVERYONE has augmented vision in Infinity except for Ariadnia.
>>87474726Yes, they also have nerves of steel.
gfUGbm9tYWRzElRBR3NwYW0gMzAwIE5vbWFkc4EsAQEHAYGkAQEAAoF/AQEAA4YsAQIABIGwAQEABYGeAQkABoGeAQgAB4GeAQgAWould this list be too much for a local tournament? I really like all the Nomad TAGs and wanted to just kind of jam them all, playing with some friends the reactive turn can get fairly stupid but I've left some weaknesses to exploit like no hacking and it's not the best objective scorer.
>>87475690This is not a good place to ask for an advice honestly. People express very interesting, so to speak, opinions, about stuff. Better get into discord or forums. Inb4 hang yourself discord tranny, yes, yes, sure, but you are less likely to hear about how bad ariadna the one of top 3 armies in game is.
>>87476189seconded. this place is mostly for shitposting
>>87474923Uh, and it's even on sale, €6,70.
>>87476263Neither it is for shitposting. No place is for shitposting. If you are shitposting, you must be a hollow creature and should stop that.
>>87471388What do you want to know?
>>87474923I already stripped it's DRM but I'm not posting it here for a while because I want to give it a chance to succeed commercially. I actually like CB and want them to succeed and make more books and more Infinity.
>>87477094Quite a praiseworthy mindset. Do you like it so far? What other literature did you enjoy reading, sci-fi specifically?
>>87471238if hexas had more models I'd say NCA. The aquila guard is my gold standard for coat-wearing models in infinity.I should get to painting him and all my bolts but I'm waffling on schemes still
>>87477163I haven't read it yet, I'll get into it next month probably.
>>87477094I bought it as well. It costs less than a burger and I hope it will encourage them to release more.
>>87475690>Not even 10 regular orders to fill out the listIf going full unga bunga retard was your goal then have at it. Depending on the table, you're going to be in a world of pain simply from not enough large terrain pieces to give them all adequate cover. You'll probably be put into LoL in fairly short order. Anything with vis mods is going to be a bitch to remove in a straight firefight. No engineer is deeply concerning.I want to hear how this goes lmao.
>>87478466Hell yeah! See this WAS literally the idea. Hide my stupid Lieutenant somewhere and have 4 big robots stomp around covering firing lanes and not doing much else outside of looking cool and mulching anyone stupid enough to give them a face to face ARO. Complete opposite of my usual Caledonian list, there's something refreshing about the idea.
Good morning sirs.
What is the functional difference between a troop with cc23 and cc20 with the skill cc(+3)?
https://youtu.be/u1dgVMOkzvMFirst CanCon video by the winner is up
>>87478680They will just get hacked - either by hacking, by hacking and guided missile or by melees in smoke, this time - into pieces. Of feces. Because tags require infrastructure around them to perform well and you have none in that list. The playlist for this foster will turn from cool unga tribal music to the sad trumpet version of jurassic park theme rather quickly. For example once you realise your opponent can just go prone and laugh at you trying to reach him in your what, 8 orders?I swear, exposure to "mEmEs))))" has thoroughly damaged the cognition of younger generation who equal meme and retarded.
>>87482781Natural born warrior blocks cc skills, includibg cc(+3).
>>87477080IDK, some new renders? Any news of REM Racers? Some spoilers for bakunin rework?
>>87482834That's great advice and very generous for a competitive player to share all his tricks, really.
>>87482781CB should re-release the Tohaa with updated sculpts and focus on the more important SKUs.

>>87494608Rob makes the best battle report content for Infinity.
>>87494608I really like the whole initial list explanation.
>>87495048I just like how he breaks everything down. It reminds me of White Dwarf battle reports 20 years ago, where you not only knew what a unit was doing but what the player's intention was. Also, I often find more conventional video battle reports confusing for Infinity because it's so 3D and models are so easily obscured by terrain, but with a static picture it's much easier to keep track of what's happening.
>>87495328>Also, I often find more conventional video battle reports confusing for Infinity because it's so 3D and models are so easily obscured by terrain, but with a static picture it's much easier to keep track of what's happening.Honestly the best way I've seen them done so far is CB's own battle reports, with the scanned minis and simulated battlefield. This way you can pan around with the camera without people in the way and the minis are easy to spot on the terrain. Infinity plays more like XCOM than a traditional wargame.
>>87489521>spergI do not think you even know what that means. If you would put out a memey list which could work it would be praised honestly. That is, honestly, the defenition of a memey list - you pick seemingly hodgepodge things that work together pretty well. Yours is just a self-humiliating joke countered by a prone state. You know it and this is why you've gone defensive and called me a sperg. If you are coprophile with bdsm lean, have fun with this list. Just do not try to deny your nature.
Just getting back into the game, what's the deal with infiltration on the Grunts in USAF?
>>87497499What's unclear with it?https://infinitythewiki.com/Infiltrate
>>87497547>>87497499Back in N3 there was something called Inferior Infiltration, and the Grunts had to deploy in an infiltrated position. And can units with Infiltration join a fire team now? I don't seen anything that says they can't
>>87497594Grunts had to try to deploy on the enemy half of the board if they were going to be infiltrated outside of your dz. It doesn't exist anymore. And no, troopers with infiltration cannot be part of fire teams, just look at the wiki for what can't join one.
>>87499941Thanks, I thought they might have moved it into Fireteam chart. I couldn't see anything about the Moblots not being in a fire team. Also when are the French going to get some new models.
>>87502433When they start selling more than their monthly Nomad releases.
Could someone please tell me what the factions feel like? From what I understand the following factors dominate Infinity1. things die and things die quickly and abruptly 2. units are very similar and each faction has units in the similar role with little differencesSo I'm wondering whether factions actually feel markedly different I am interested in the visual design of combined army, ariadna, tohaa and yu jing
>>87502729Btw how casual friendly is infinity?I am only a casual player and even if I dedicate myself to a game I'm rarely if ever good
>>87502729>1. things die and things die quickly and abruptlyYes>2. units are very similar and each faction has units in the similar role with few differencesPartly true given most factions share the same equipment. It's more like they are fairly flexible, even if they have their specialties. So for example you could have a hacking-heavy PanO list, but it will probably never be as good as a hacking-focused Nomads or Aleph list. So factions and especially sectorials can play very differently depending on what units and combos they have available. As for the factions you mentioned:>CAAlien invaders. Divided into three main sectorials (subfactions)>MoratsRecently updated, brute force monkeys with little subtlety and a focus on veteran troops and CQC>Shasvaasti Very subtle, sneaky fragile aliens, can deploy invisible or shapeshifting units>Onyx All about robots and evil aliens, generally hi-tech and elite even for CA >AriadnaLow tech humans with little anime content. They currently have several sectorials>Kosmoflot A bit higher tech than normal Ariadna, space flavor>TAKRussian theme, lots of dogs and camo>USAriadnaAmerican theme, generally high in armor but slow with the exception of their bikers and infiltrating units>CaledoniaScottish theme, lowest-tech with a focus on frenzied CQC troops>TohaaA very unique faction that plays like a sectorial and has a lot of weird unique equipment and interactions between units. Wouldn't recommend it to a beginner given they are currently discontinued, try Spiral Corps if you like the visual design of Tohaa>YJThe #2 superpower, Asian theme with a focus on heavy infantry. Their sectorials:>Invincible ArmyYou can run a pure HI list, from infiltrators to jump troops>White BannerA bit more sneaky, with powerful solo pieces and infiltrators>Imperial ServiceCounterterrorism, suicide troops, and imperial agents You can find more about the game and factions in the OP's pastebins if you want
>>875027291. Yes, but that doesn't mean you can't invest in tanky units and take doctors and engineers to keep them up. 2. They do feel different, it's just in a different way to how games like 40k feel different. I had a massive shock going from my first army JSA to my second CA, and then again to Ariadna. It's just not immediately apparently to a newcomer. >>87502767There's a learning curve. Once you get past it you can play more casually, but you want to play a bunch of games at the start to overcome it. At least, that's been my experience.

Thinking about making videos of my own for CanCon but I'm a newer player and can't analyse my games as deeply as Rob, any suggestions or requestions re what to include?
>>87507047Instead of analysing a game, maybe go over what prep work you did going in, why you chose the faction you did, match-ups you were worried about, the meta around cancon from your pov, that kind of thing with the framing that you are a new player.
>>87502944>try spiral if you like tohaa designWhy are you so mean? Spiral does not feel good nowadays. Not at all.
>>87507241It's easier to approach than Tohaa for starters.
>>87506010Is cancon some australian tournament? These lists look bad. How first one won against morats? They refused to use smoke?
>>87507311It is suffering in any case, whether in form of searching for the oop models for tohaa or in playing spiral. But proxxies exist so exposing self to the more limiting spiral which is also simply weaker is more hurtful.
>>87507241>>87507405>>87507432Good morning Ivan.
>>87507528This is not name, but good morning to you as well.
>*my name
>>87507405CanCon is the name of the Canberra Convention which includes all wargaming, including Infinity. I actually played against the same Morat player and he did have smoke and was quite capable of using it, though it's possible his 2nd list was different.
>>87507736Thing is there are little counters to smoke in the first list. And 14 bodies on top of that. Morats can easily trade up with their s5 chain rifle guy i forgot the name of. There are many counters to it in other armies too, and i am not saying it as specifically tailored to counter tags list, just average ones.
>>87507783Morat guy defo had the S5 high burst chain-colt guy in a core fireteam. He only had 1 win though so maybe he's not the strongest player. He's certainly among the kindest.
>>87502944So as a beginner going into the game I should be able to get those descriptions playing as each faction?Or is it more subtle?I like the heavy infantry in Yu Jing, they've got that space marine look I likeHow does the sneakiness of TAK feel gameplay wise compared to shaasvaasti? If I like the idea of having these powerful beasts that stalk the battlefield like Avatar or Sphinx how disappointed am I likely going to be going into infinity if they just get blown up instantly?>>87503490Yeah I'm fine with a learning curveI just want to roll dice and have funLooking at some videos there seems to be a really strong 'heuristic' set of moves that is needed to play the game?Like I can just sit there with my entire list and just move one guy but obviously I'm going to have rules about how I move my units even if they aren't ideal or perfect?
>>87507894>So as a beginner going into the game I should be able to get those descriptions playing as each faction? Some things will be immediately noticeable, others like combos and specific tricks are only going to become evident later. >How does the sneakiness of TAK feel gameplay wise compared to shaasvaasti? It's much much lower in tech. Infiltrating TAK units have Camouflagehttps://infinitythewiki.com/Camouflaged_Stateor decoy https://infinitythewiki.com/Decoyor mimetism, only -3 (the number is the malus you inflict on your enemy's ballistic skill)https://infinitythewiki.com/MimetismShas troops can have mimetism (-3, but also -6, including on a TAG), but also more exotic stuff like hidden deployment (meaning they don't have to place a marker at all, the unit is completely invisible until revelead)https://infinitythewiki.com/Hidden_Deployment_Stateor impersonationhttps://infinitythewiki.com/Impersonation_Statemeaning they can pretend to be an enemy unit to get closer to juicier targets >how disappointed am I likely going to be going into infinity if they just get blown up instantly?Having a TAG (especially a hugely expensive one like the Avatar, ) means you often have to tailor your list around them, keeping them protected during the reactive turn and using killer hackers to defend them from enemy hackers. Not losing them immediately is part of the game lol, just like your enemy will try to disable something like the Avatar at all costs. If you like TAGs but can't stomach the thought of investing 1/3 or 1/2 of your points on a single model you could consider using lighter TAGs like the Xeodrons or Overdrons,
>>87507894>Like I can just sit there with my entire list and just move one guy but obviously I'm going to have rules about how I move my units even if they aren't ideal or perfect? You can spend all orders on a single model if you want, but it will rarely happen for several reasons. Watch the videos in this playlist:https://youtu.be/PXoKg722x8w?list=PLezeobmvoZ7hhlHZHymTW9PPSjO3pLV3g&t=43
>>87507878Very strange, but thank you for elaboration.>>87507894The descriptions you were given are more lore-releated. Onyx for example is not very high-tech. Neoterra has far more advanced equipment and shooting.
>>87508002>You can spend all orders on a single model if you want, but it will rarely happen for several reasons. It's one of those things which seem like the rules would promote but when you actually get onto the table it is fairly rare. Usually when it happens it feels like it's due to a mistake on the receiving player's side. Deployment weakspot or list building gap.
>>87507894Avatars don't get blown up instantly, they are nigh unstoppable. And you can take 14 cheerleaders and 1 decent piece if you want but that seems pretty risky to me, especially since the game is about exploiting different firelanes and competing multiple objectives and reacting to enemy pieces in their turn.
>>87508145Yeah, if your rambo can spend 10 orders or so just annihilating enemy units the opponent has probably made so many mistakes it's time for the game to end anyway.
>>87508158Also avatar can be brutalized in melee after being smoked.
>>87508213Maybe if your opponent isn't very good. The NovaCore winner always surrounded his Avatar with a physical barrier of Taighas and shit so nothing could get close without killing them first, which was basically impossible considering their proximity to each other and the Avatar.
>>87507986Xeodrones are also among the sturdiest tags in game thanks to bio immunity. Coupled with their price tag it makes them a very good choice. But all combined tags are good or great. Overdron and bultrak are just niche.
>>87508323That is hard to counteract for sure. As caledonian my immediate response to threat is to smoke it and try to melee/template. Taighas are nullifying that approach. Good thinking on his part.
I'm not a fan of the latest batch of morats. There's some things in the redesign I really like (and some I don't), but the latest set is pretty irredeemable. I guess the zerat is pretty cute, but the other two models are a mess.
>>87508393Agreed. Am buying the previous iteration of vanguards and converting them. Fortunately i got the rest of old morats on my hands with only few exceptions. Like the s5 chain rifle guy still. And zerats. But will try converting old zerats as well. Think their biggest issue is helmets and feet.
>>87508393They look a lot better with a better paint scheme IMO.
>>87508718I don't know if a better paint scheme can save Octagon Head or Wrench Arm up there.
>>87508849Octagon head is better in person (i like it, but that's personal taste i guess), rindak needs a desperate fix by kitbash/conversion or outright a 3d-printed proxy
>>87508393This is fucking trash, I don't know how some people are defending these models. The old ones are a million times better.
>>87508393> Zerat Looks good. Color scheme stinks, but model is perfectly fine.> Dropsuit I think it's okay. It's a robot, it has weird jet-pack grav things. It's a firm "meh" to me. > RindakPretty bad. Head looks wonky and what exactly is that fist-thing supposed to be? A PARA-CC weapon?
>>87508393The entire new MAF is crap. And I think people only give the zerat a pass because she's the least offensive and the only other miniatures we have are from N2.
>>87508350Speaking of Caledonians, Mcmurrough SEEMS sick to me for the old smoke and cc but being relatively new is he worth bringing?
>>87510840Hard yes. Any army that can take him wants him. If you want him in every list for any mission is a different question. Just don't expect him to survive the game
>>87509491Dropsuit being a robot isn't too bad I guess, but it still looks like a PS2 era model and not in a good way.
>>87508393Zerat looks bowlegged lol
>>87515312Goliath online
>>87515312The "Front Towards Enemy" thing kinda annoys me. Like you already used that joke on the Blackjack, go away, you're not even American.
Is there any kind of glue which would make snapping minis off their base impossible?
Working on this lady. Pretty happy overall so far, but the face came out a bit silly. Might keep it though.
>>87508158Yeah unless you are in the habit of letting CC specialists walk in up to you, then the list of things that can kill an avatar easily is pretty short. Even things that can relliably hit a bs15 mimetism -6 unit still have ARM 9 and 3 structure to chew through. Game isn't exactly lousy with linked msv2 missiles or anything.
>>87515891Use the tabs/pegs to penetrate the surface of the base. If it snaps off then, you've put enough force on it to break the metal or the physical base, and no glue can save you.
>>87516166She looks cute
Hey guysI bought the followingCombined Army starter Shasvastii Noctifers (Missile)Taigha CreaturesIkadron Batdroids & ImetronCombined Army Support PackIt seems like people always discuss these things so I bought them Shasvastii Noctifers is such a fucking awesome model
Why isn't the RPG more popular? I don't care much for wargames but the Infinity RPG is fantastic.
>>87517415It took ages to limp through Kickstarter fulfilment, and Modiphius got distracted by all their other lines (Conan, etc.) so don't shill it. Therefore it's never picked up any steam. It's a weird feeling to remember that the first drafts of Infinity 2d20 are older than Human Sphere N3, and almost as old as N3 core (the original 1.0 alpha is from 4 Jan 2015).
>>87516166She kinda looks like a kid
>>87517042NiceI persobaly love running the sphinx, but somehow the caliban and shrouded always safe my games to the point i wonder why i bothered trying to not use them
>>87517042My Taigha usually kill more models than Sheskiin in my games.
>>87510840Of course. You run Wallace and all the dogs or you cannot compete with other factions in the game, it is really that simple. Caledonian is not in a good place design-wise due to restrictive profiles on the units and fireteams as well. Dogs and turning irregs into regs is required of you at this point. >>87517042Will rarely get to use dr.worm alas. Other than that if you wish to play Vanilla pick up action pack of Shasvastii. You will use most of the models from there as either proxxies or themselves. After all seed-soldier is only different from Nox due to those tubes which you can greenstuff easily.
>>87517415It's not very good, anon. Also, infinity setting is mediocre at best.
>>87517042Noctifers are great, fuck link teams!Look into Anathematic or Charontids next.Glory to the EI!
>>87517042OH SHITI forgot I got the drone remote pack>>87519756>>87520128Are Sphinx, Anthematic and Charontid similar in role as big bad thing?I like sphinx and anathematic A small but still powerful ultimate life form would be cool though>>87519857I thought they were chaff>>87519919What the fuck I thought the worm was good?I don't know what I want to play
>>87520183I did not put it right it seems. Doc is good, but cannot compete with caliban in shasvastii or vanilla, and most of the time you do not use the actual doctor in either. Morats can totally run without him as well - and will most of the time, but he is not by any means bad. I would say he is a must in onyx, however. If you run him you do not subject yourself torture, he is still good, but most of the time you have access to the better profiles.
*do not subject yourself to tortureQuickfixIf you have models you wish to bring back via doc and engineer you should totally use dr. worm. Just have a plan for the guy and how to keep him safe. After all model has unique aesthetics, and provides a challenge in how you can use him.Think i will try him in morats now.
>>87517042The Noctifer is always so scary to face.
I really love the marut, is this feasible to play? When is this bad boy supposed to be used in the fluff? How bad is it fluff wise if it gets destroyed?
>>87520727>How bad is it fluff wise if it gets destroyed?Fluff-wise it never happened cause Aleph cleans up any records of it even existing
>>87520183>Sphinx, Anthematic and CharontidNo. Sphinx and the anathematic could both be a hidden deployment spitfire with gteat stats&mimetism, but sphinxes speed and heavy flamers realy push it towards cleaning up your enemies deployment zone and kill everything below arm 4. Anathematic performs best for me as a hacker to use the great wipCharontid is your msv3 boy, killing everything with his hmg that has mimetism and isn't a TAG. If you want to expand to vanilla grab the daturazis, everyones best friend. >>87546385I don't understand all the hate for these morats. Like, they're not the best, sure, but they don't look so terrible. They seem middling to me. I like the beards and guns. The axes are dumb and overdesigned I agree. Why is everyone so angry about them?
>>87546601I agree with you, but I think the reaction is because they had perfectly good minis in the first place so there was no point in releasing new ones unless they were going to be better.
>>87546385Of all the new Morats, you choose the ones that actually look really good.
>>87546601The new morats have been a mixed bag of alright to downright ugly and have become pretty cluttered and overdesigned when they looked fine to begin with. It's a pretty significant departure from their old aesthetic which will make some people mad regardless of how good it is and the replacement hasn't really been all that great. There's been some new stuff I like, to be fair. I like this four armed dude and the edgy sword guy in the starter pack. I think it's good that the new Raktorak is much more visually distinct from Vanguards even if I liked the old design better (love the greatcoat, but should've done without the big tubes helmet), I even think the new Tarloks look good and don't mind the new Zerats (needs more ass tho), but everything else has been considerably mixed for me. New Kurgats are kinda cool but I liked the old better, same with Vanguards and Rodoks. And the new Kornak is just a mess imo. At least they left Raicho my beloved alone.
>>87546385>>87546766These are fine.

>>87547017I posted that model as an example of one of the new ones I like, yes. And I like the new Kurgats, I'm just not sure if I like them more or less than the old ones.
>>87547083Looks like ass is back on the menu, boys!
>>87546745>>87547017>>87546601The reason is this: >>87546632The old models were simply better than these ones. Why are you replacing the old ones, and disallowing people from buying more of the old range, when they look so good in the first place? The new design is much more generic, and seems crude in comparison. The proportions are all wrong, the poses are awkward, and the box art doesn't help at all, since all those colors look like shit and clash.Look at the old Suryats, pic related, they're a MILLION times better than the new ones. Similar things happen with most of the range (the Kurgats are the only update that I think is decent)
>>87547083>another haqq repack in marchI hate N4 release scheduling

>>87547246>SuryatsI actually like the new ones more. I dislike the Zerat.
>>87547564Does anyone here play the lobos and diablos? They seem pointless, both Corregidor and vanilla have much better options for the points and role.
>>87547653Wait, they made new suryats? I haven't seen them yet.
>>87547790These >>87546385
>>87547658Diablos are justified by being multi-wound melee beatsticks that cost 15/16 points. Having a disposable psycho you can Berserk into a key enemy piece and trade up with is a worthwhile niche.Lobos are harder to justify. They sport +1B on some annoying nonlethal weapons and CC23 with PARA(-6) means they’re going to do a good job of locking down units, especially if they link up in Corregidor for B3 with their ADHL, but they’re expensive enough that fielding them has more serious opportunity costs. Also Biometric Visor seems, as always, a worthless add-on that pumps up costs for an extremely limited benefit.

>>87550436Adding new profiles/sectorials every update, or constantly reinventing the wheel with unnecessary resculpts is not going to work? They could do the GW thing and have you pay for fixes to problems caused by the studio every new season. Or do what Mantic/Soda Pop did and have a business model based around kickstarter; I'm sure it's working out well for them.>CB can't reasonably just keep on selling modelsI think they can. But they need to just make nice pieces people want and also we need to go back to fapfinity models. I still maintain Bootleg would have been perfect to release limited run alternate/proxy sculpts for miniatures. Instead of the shitty nuMAF, it could have been a retarded-viking-thing themed month/year for Bootleg MAF. Or alternative Greek mythology character series for SP instead of removing characters for fucking new ones. There's so many options for this: guest artists, battle damaged, summertime/beach, pinups, characters, themes, etc etc. They can choose the production run and/or use preorders as the basis for production. This would also give their design studio to stretch their brains. These would just be non-canon alternative models for the Infinity, but the only thing I would NOT want is crossover trash like WotC does with MtG.>>87550444I'd rather see Dr Worm for a checkup over Dr Woman.
>>87548574>Is it worth it getting an operation just so I can try and hook one of my friends into the game? If you mean one of the two-player big boxes, definitely. They have great mini-campaign tutorials from "how I move and shoot" to a mini version of a tournament scenario.Make sure to grab the operation's "Beyond" box too, they'll eventually be repackaged into 2 faction-based starters and you don't wanna get cucked out of some units.>Are the forces in the Operation boxes actually balanced?Varies, but if not, the booklets have unit profiles adjusted for the sake of balancing both sides. Then you move on to making actual list and balancing with points/SWC instead.
>>87550734>Adding new profiles/sectorials every update, or constantly reinventing the wheel with unnecessary resculpts is not going to work? It's not, in this day and age selling a product alone is a recipe for disaster. They need to innovate, for example sell the CB licence to use in games or subscription fee for something. It was fine precovid, but the current economic climate is too unstable and people aren't willing to spend when they can proxy. And it's not just CB that's currently going to suffer, WotC, GW, PP and Fantasy flight have all had a hard time. Maybe it's just the timing. >I still maintain Bootleg would have been perfect to release limited run alternate/proxy sculpts for miniaturesI agree with you here. Im surprised they stopped it. I know people went crazy for the Shikami last year, and I know people will go crazy for the Mary Problems. I don't know how CB let alone wargaming is going to survive, it was gaining publicity (that is wargaming) but in recent years there's be a contraction again
>>87550734>Instead of the shitty nuMAF, it could have been a retarded-viking-thing themed month/year for Bootleg MAF.What's weird is they sort of did that with the nuMorats by giving them a lore explanation as the ones deployed to that jungle planet that's the current maim battleground, hence the sleeveless vanguards. But instead of making them an alternative they're now the new look going forward.
>>87550734> But they need to just make nice pieces people want and also we need to go back to fapfinity models. They could even try to squeeze money for it on Kickstarter
>>87550594Someone postet the ISS lists kn this or the last thread
>>87550436>CB can't reasonably just keep on selling modelsIt worked for the past 15 (?) years...But I mean they are also expanding into other areas (novels, boardgames, new games, partnerships...).
>>87551252No Anon, the sky is falling, Infinity is dying, everything they make is literally worse than AIDS, and if you disagree with any insane doomposting you're just a cuck shill.
>>87550871Retaining people is hard, but an effort should be made at least. GW did nothing to retain their massive growth in 2020. Overall they have piss poor communication and it's apparent that it's not just because of the language barrier. One GREAT thing CB is good at is the licensing which is also good exposure. I honestly can't wait for the Joytoy figures. They should really be telling people "why" they should be playing infinity over anything else, and I think the minis are the best way to do it. Currently infinity lacks a distinct style, and the shift in design in N4 isn't jelling with people like myself who used to regularly do demos, TO, and 'evangelize' the game, and originally got in for the anime style, pinups, balanced gameplay, etc etc. To me Infinity has zero edge, sex appeal, no bite, and everything looks bland and generic. And it's apparent to me this move is intentional. I mentioned some cynical ways CB can continue to make money like GW, mantic, etc. Another way is to thrive in the niche like Kingdom Death. KD is a prime example of not giving an inch to their critics and only doubling down on their mission. KD has a thriving community and isn't completely based on kickstarter (though I wish they would fucking stop the KS nonsense). But the current path is closer to Mantic and Kickstarter.>>87551058I hate them with an ungodly amount of passion. Not a single one of them look good to me. This would have had far less impact if CB assured us that this is just an LE themed army and they'll go back to the good design afterwards. But we also dont know if CB is going to revert back to N3 MAF or change the design again.>>87551096They already do it for aristeia and that was a fail. I dont get why they're not doing it for Infinity the main cash cow. Shit like the Battle damaged theme isn't even my idea. Carlos mentioned it when they were first pitching Bootleg.
>>87551252It did work in the last 15 years, but times are changing due to costs. I would like them to continue to sell models and rules but I don't think they continue this trajectory in the climate but yeah
>>87551365I practically bought most of the skins to be honest. Maybe it was the cards that were the issues
>>87551252>It worked for the past 15 (?) years...Do you think it's still currently working? Do you think it'll continue to work without changing or adapting? Do you think it's worked all this time without changing or adapting - like they've been doing the same thing for 15 years without changing their designs, production methods, materials, etc etc? Because it's clearly not the case. Seems like anon was just asking how else can a company like CB adapt especially in these very unpredictable times.>expanding into other areasThis is thing they're great at. Like I said I'm really looking forward to the joytoy figures. I hope they turn out good!>>87551311The question was just simply asking for alternative ideas chill the fuck out.>>87551455I bought Lunah's skin and painted her up, but that was only for /wip/ secret santa several years back. I thought about getting the wulver chick for an alternative Foxtrot model, but I'm just...idk...don't really feel like playing USARF anymore? The game failed (at least here), because it was visually derivative. The rules are fine, but when I tried to sell the game most people just say "looks like overwatch" or something along those lines, and go for something else like Warhammer Underworlds which released within a few months iirc. 1 or 2 of my Infinity players (including myself who got the LE version lol) played a bit and then just stuck with Infinity. I think a grittier take on arena combat (less goofy) or a completely new game in a new IP would have been far more successful, but I honestly don't know. Personally, I HATE quirky humor and the overall tonal shift, so it would have never stuck with me/I'm not the target audience for it.
>>87551624>Personally, I HATE quirky humor CB always had the quirky humor though, their story of WIld Bill during asteroid blues was pretty humourful and so is Angus. But I do also see a shift cos of Marvel movies
>>87551624>Do you think it's still currently working?Yes.Do you think it'll continue to work without changing or adapting?More or less. The miniatures wargaming industry is not exactly the most dynamic of industries. They have evolved slowly by introducing CAD, the Operations format, now siocast and a new game... I don't see your point. >>87551441If tin prices were to really skyrocket I think they would move to siocast completely, S2 minis and all. But the price of tin went down quite a bit compared to 2021-2022.
>LGS stopped carrying Infinityfuck...
>>87552021But that is why It's not the most dynamic industries, how can CB survive even when GW has been struggling recently with overhead and indirect costs? Old parties are being cautious
>>87552083GW has much higher overhead costs, starting from its physical retail network. They are also on two completely different scales. It's like wondering if your local mechanic tuning cars and selling motorcycles is going to go under because Volkswagen had a bad year.
>>87552018>CB always had the quirky humor though, their story of WIld Bill during asteroid blues was pretty humourful and so is Angus. But I do also see a shift cos of Marvel moviesThat's not true. Also asteroid blues wasn't long ago enough to say "it's always been", and what part of Angus would you say is quirky? Their humor traditionally has been more on the cynical side. More like Paul Verhoeven movies. It's not the same as a giant hippee space panda man screaming "eat my fa jing" while he fights Deadpool who probably says equally retarded things (I don't know because I haven't collected anything past the core box.>>87552021You've made my point which is that they have made major changes like going from traditional sculpting to CAD sculpting, completely changing their style from N1/2 to N3, dealing with the cost of tin, the switch to siocast for bigger minis, etc etc etc. Me? I think it would NOT be working if CB was still making traditionally sculpted miniatures still in the N1 style. But that anon is simply asking what's next. and I think it's fun to speculate or play armchair CEO.>>87552083GW has FAR more overhead than CB. CB being a smaller private company gives them potentially better/faster decision making and adaptability. But it does scale down/up. I'm sure CB has plenty of costs at their level as well especially since they're potentially expanding into another war game.Honestly, I can not believe how fucking incompetent GW has been recently. Like CB has their own brand of pure stupidity. But the way GW gained record breaking numbers of new players/customers in 2020 and just piss it all away in three years is beyond my comprehension.
Is this game going ok in Australia?
>>87552555It's one of the places where it is more popular, so yes definitely.
>>87550636>In general vanilla CA is not played *that* much unless people want to run the Avatar.I see. Is the Onyx sectorial better for a mixed force then? I noticed that they have access to a couple of troops of each sectorial. I do like the Avatar though, and I really like the look of the Anathematic, although I've read it's kind of trash except as a hacker.>>87550742>Make sure to grab the operation's "Beyond" box too, they'll eventually be repackaged into 2 faction-based starters and you don't wanna get cucked out of some units.Ah, I see, so that's a bit more expensive than I thought then. But seems like a good buy anyway. Thanks anons!
This is worth $700 in the aftermarket. You can't tell me bootlegs aren't a money maker.
>>87550410I thought that Uhahu was the loli hacker who needs correction. Mary is more grown up.
Anons, I have the following minis:Achilles V2Myrmidon BoxSteel Phalanx StarterAgema MarksmanIs it worth it for me to buy the Operation Blackwind, or should I go for some useful characters (Phoenix/Ajax/Scylla/some specialist characters, etc)? Never played this game in my life by the way, bought the minis ages ago because I thought they looked cool, and now want to get into it
>>87550734Would like to see something like that with Bootleg. It's had such a confused and failed launch, and a bizarre life afterwards. Only 2/5 of the first wave was usable. Tabitha Lyons Bolt was really cute even despite it just being arm and headswap. Penny was cool, but was just trying to capitalize on the craze the new Kum Bikers caused. O12 commissioner was just a HVT, but later HVTs were released without the Bootleg label. CB would have to rebrand it, and bring a more coherent and planned out approach to it.>>87552975The initial Bootleg releases were not successful because half of them were weird ass half-dioramas and not really playable aside for the Lizard and Maggie Pilots. It was already a confused release. Also aftermarket prices doesn't really affect CB though. I heard the Gencon UR is like $100 but it's not like CB would get a cut or anything, or do anything aside for making more or less. Also I find it hard to believe anyone is paying that much for that Oyoroi pilot when you can't really even use it. I think the Luxumbra version had a far more limited run and doesn't reach $200.
The Nomad Corregidor TAG fireteam options are enticing. What's the best way to support a Gecko Haris team?
>>87554699Quite a few people made conversions by splicing the bootleg into an actual O-Yoroi.And thanks for reminding me to dig up and paint my Luxumbra shit.
>>87553767All of the starter sets are worth it to build your faction rosterWelcome to the game, friend
>>87547154Convention Mary looks like a character from a 1999~2004-era video game.
>>87551311>everything they make is literally worse than AIDS, and if you disagree with any insane doomposting you're just a cuck shillTechnically correct. CB side projects are ass, and first manga was literal lightning in a bottle.
Any tips for getting the most use out of a Raicho?
>>87556227What's with the bright pink skin? Is she partially synthetic?
>>87556753You can see angular lines on her abdomen and calves too. IIRC the program that turned out Uhahu and Mary was a hideous amalgam of every questionable science in Praxis.
>>87556753She also has robo-legs for climbing plus
>>87547564>>87547572Well, we've had a lot of prisoner representation, about time we had some prison warden-derived troops.
>>87547564>are we the cops?
>>87547534>>87548015>mfw Infinity introduces new ways to bully Gata
>>87548015Dimensions too squat, if it is it'll be a chibi like that one chibi Musashi.
Which factions/lists are proactive and which ones are more reactive?
hard to paint straight with 40mg of valium per day
>>87556227>>87556753what ever this is, it's way too fucking hot. The model is too good
>>87553408>Originally born as a neotenic clone, designed to age 1/3rd as slowly and with hyper-accelerated brainpower. Grown in the Baker Module of Tunguska, designed to be a Lhost for future socialites. Escaped and founded the Baker's Street Irregulars alongside Uhahu. She's more grown up but still.
>>87547572GW called. You are getting a cease and desist for infringement of their copyright.
>>87557073I'd say most of them can fulfill both roles, just in different ways. In general I would say Tohaa is the most defensive of all the factions while JSA is the most aggressive, but it really depends. Say a faction like PanO has extremely aggressive units like the Bulletteer or the Guarda de Asalto while also having some very reactive ones like the Helots.
>>87557136>designed to be a LhostOk so she is biosynthetic.
>>87557156Where does vanilla avatar fit in?I would like to play tohaa but I missed out on a great sale of a collection and so I'm eternally bitter about it
>>87551365Shitty PVC killed aristeia , they tried to fix It with metal versions, did gw switch to crap production with Blood bowl or other games? siocast is a bad move and comes late
>>87557183Avatar is the rape piece.
>>87557232>Shitty PVC killed aristeia It certainly did not help>they tried to fix It with metal versionsYou mean the skins? Those we're not attempts to fix the poor plastics. They were simply attempts to gain more attraction to the game and maybe prolong it. Didn't really work.>did gw switch to crap production with Blood bowl or other games? No. It stayed in hard plastics. The reason WHU died off was because GW increased the prices on warbands from $30 to $33, and eventually now $42 and the core game went from $60(?) to $95, because it's GW and they can't help but squeeze every drop of cash out of people. They did this without adding any value for that price increase. WHU players generally also had other GW games which also saw retarded price hikes, so it became less feasible to play both. As for Blood Bowl, it's never really been popular in the states (at least not in my area), so I can't comment on that>siocast is a bad move and comes lateIt's not a good material, but it was a necessary move. I think if they can split the assembly up in ways to place the shitty moldlines on less visible areas, it'll be fine. However, I won't accept siocast infantry. I'd probably drop the game entirely if they make that move, or 3dprint my minis or buy metal recasts if possible.
>>87550282>got back againFrom what?>>87550636>It's more oriented toward pure Shas obviously. In general vanilla CA is not played *that* much unless people want to run the AvatarThat is not true. If i want to run shas specialists with smokes on top of Nourkias, and other good combinations. GML included. Vanilla is pretty good even without mnemonica LT simply because it provides an option to take daturazi, caliban, mentor LT, taighas and rasyat into one list. I am not even mentioning TAGs here even of which only Overdron and Bultrak are of a questionable quality. Moreso in case of a latter.
>cb not making coomer models anymore so game is dyingGirls are still sexy. Butts are there. Boobs are there. Some models have them exposed, some do not. If it is not in such an amount as in kingdom death and you are horny, that is your problem. Go find yourself a girlfriend already and stop being a porn addict, doomposter.
>>87463474Has anyone wired a TAG with LEDs. Shit would look so cash. Y'all. Bussin'.
>>87557138Based.
>>87557413>WHU died offCitation needed. Also, most of ((alt sculpts)) were shitty AND overpriced, really dumb move from CB.
>>87557413> You mean the skins? Those we're not attempts to fix the poor plastics. They were simply attempts to gain more attraction to the game and maybe prolong it. Didn't really work.Too bad they didn't put all Character cards in the same box so you don't have to buy an expansion box first if you only want one Character. Release schedule for these skins didn't help it either. Can't help but wonder - would it be better for them to release limited run of "themed skins" expansion variants in metal? So you don't have to buy godawful pvc first.
>>87557704>so you don't have to buy an expansion boxTechnically you only had to buy them if you were a tourneyfag, since all the cards are free on the website.
>>87557124It may look like skin, but instead is stilized padding. They definitly should have been cutouts
>>87557704then people will complain about getting a bunch of characters they dont want with the box
>>87547557Besides the tactical rock (that's going to be turbo difficult to remove since from what I can see it connects to the side of the let) this mgiht be first decent sculpt of the year so far and first one I might actually buy.
>>87558492They should make an aristeia relaunch ks, with better miniatures if warcrow minis are so good as they said.
