Which RPG setting has the best playable ratfolk? Pathfinder and Midgard have Ratfolk, Starfinder has Ysoki, Legend of the Five Rings has Nezumi, Scarred Lands 5e has Slitherin, Wicked Fantasy has Roddun, the World of Farland has Ferek, and Chronicles of Aeres has Rattevir, but which of these are the best rats?
Sad that this thread is dead. All the furfaggots are busy jerking off in the NSFW thread. I will take the opportunity to complain: you people recommended me this book forever ago, and finally I've gotten around to reading it, and it sucks! Mouse guard remains the best mouse story I guess.
>>86797314What, you use that as an OP image and no mention of MtG's Kamigawa? Is it because there aren't any ratfolk planeswalkers yet?
>>86801844Why is WotC so stupid? Kamigawa is literally ten times better an "Oriental Adventures" setting than Kara-tur, so why haven't we gotten a Plane Shift or a splatbook to let us play there?
>>86797314This card is a prefect example f why I won't ever look back from dropping Magic. Holy shit. I even said I'd consider getting in again if they went back to Kamigawa. Fucking Monkey's Paw.At least Lorwyn/Shadowmoor is safe, right?
>>86802941the pic in OP is an actual Magic Card?! Holy shit lol
>>86803375It's an alternate art in a set where all of the alternate art was intensely anime inspired. The normal card still has a lot of Akira going on but it's marginally more in line with standard art direction.
>>86803415NTA, but are there any other ratfolk images in that set?>>86801844>Is it because there aren't any ratfolk planeswalkers yet? That would be a cool idea. A little annoying that they haven’t done so yet.
>>86805349But ratfolk aren't humans.And I can't identify with something that's not human.
>>86805523however i can perfectly identify with an insect hivemind!
>>86805523There’s a literal dryad bonded to a tree with legs as a planeswalker. And that’s just one example.
>>86800158I'm not a furfag but I am a total Redwall autist and I swear to God you better take that back before I go absolutely schizo at you. And yes, I like Mouse Guard too, but I accept it's basically dead in the water because how long have we been waiting for the next comic? It also doesn't help that he does Free Comic Book Day content that'll never gets a reprint.
>>86805349A couple. https://scryfall.com/search?q=set%3Aneo+type%3Arat&unique=cards&as=grid&order=name
>>86806115I'm going to start reading Redwall because of this thread. Ty anon.
>>86797314What are your preferences in regards to how ratfolk handle magic and/or technology? And which setting do you feel handles that aspect of them the best and why?
>>86812430 Personally, I love the Rodduns from Wicked Fantasy, who literally *stole* their magic from the other races, cobbling together the secrets of wizardry by pilfering the arcane libraries and magical schools of humanity and imitating the uvandir (dwarves) practice of drawing mana from gemstones.
>>86801844Oh shit that's a real card?Always thought that was coom art of Skaven deathmaster
>>86814971They managed to break into wizard schools and escape alive? Impressive feat.
>>86797314Holy shit, I always thought she had a trumpet on her hands for some reason.
I just wish skavens were a playable race in 40k
>>86819300I just wish skavens were a romanceable race IRL
>>86802490how? kamigawa is a cyberpunk setting with some fantastical element, it has little in common with oriental adventures beside being japanese
>>86797314What kinds of creatures do you like to see your ratfolk domesticate, if any?
>>86821391That's NEW Kamigawa. OLD Kamigawa was a pure fantasy setting with an awesome Japanese theme without being dragged into the historical fiction mud.
>>86819300you see the imperial guard are made up of a lot of garbage units who rely on mass to overwhelm the enemy but they have great artillery units like Basilisks and mobile weaponry like Lemun Russ Battle tanks to give them more punchyou see the skaven are made up of a lot of garbage units who rely on mass to overwhelm the enemy but they have great artillery units like warp lightning cannons and mobile weaponry like doomwheels to give them more punch
>>86819300Why were they left out again? It seems like a missed opportunity.
>>86797314Where be the rat-sized ratfolk games at?
>>86824877>>86801844why the fuck am I so absurdly attracted to ratpeople? nothing else does itwas I a cat in another life before being a degenerate in this one?
>>86826950NahYou're just a furry in denial
>>86826966It's only the rats I swear
>>86827064Don't be an insecure shit, just embrace it
>>86827545I actually wanted to know whyit must be the buckteeth
>>86826064Because Skaven didn't really exist as anything more than a beastmen sub-faction in the days of Rogue Trader, which was also when 40K was most overtly "Warhammer Fantasy in Space". As the two settings diverged and 40K focused increasingly on human subfactions along the Imperium/Chaos split, they just got left behind.
>>86797314World of Darkness.
>>86797314What weapons do you prefer your ratfolk to use? Daggers are obvious, but what else, maybe crossbows?
>>86830441>World of Darkness.Since when does WoD have ratfolk?
>>86826950>>86827064>/tpg/ - Toxoplasmosis General
>>86834960Wouldn't that be an attraction to cat people?
>>86834885Werewolf: The Apocalypse had playable Wererats.
>>86836671Right of the Bolthole was great. If you thought werewolves teleporting through big, reflective surfaces was crazy, wait until you get a bunch of rats that can do it with anything bigger than a quarter.
>>86797314What about other races that go well with ratfolk, like rabbit-folk for example? Also, how do you prefer your ratfolk to get along with other races?
>>86805349A rat planeswalker should be an exceedingly rare thing, given there's really only one plane that has sentient, humanoid rats.
>>86842839Given how big the Multiverse is? There’s got to be at least one other out there somewhere with sapient rat-folk. Especially given some of the other races out there.
The Rats of Fortitude from Chuubo’s Marvelous Wish-Granting Engine.
>>86834960I just love those chisel teethand her bashful wiskered smilewhen I give her dairy treatsI just watch her while she eatsif she misses on gruyèreshe turns out a bit tsunderegorzonzola and roquefortshe says "c'est la petit mort"I'll buy worth her weight in cheesewhen before her on my kneesI'll say darling, pretty please, and I'll hope that she agrees'cause perhaps I am part cat,but I'll always chase a rat
>>86842732You mean like rabbit-folk and shit? I can dig those.
Well, it's been great anons.
