Post your Sci-fi planet and system generators here!https://1d4chan.org/wiki/System_generator
>>86737670I usually adapt it from other RPGsIf I want to go detailed I use Traveller V5.10.For quick and dirty systems on the other hand I use EDRPG.Its usually the first thing I check when picking up a new Sci-Fi RPG
>>86744366Thanks for sharing anon. What systems have you made with it?
Based thread anon. Hope you get some more soon.
>>86737670What about programs for simulating these planets and systems? Does anyone have anything there please?
Universe Sandbox 2 is neat. I like looking at different hypothetically habitable solar system setups.
>>86760243Super Planet Crash is fun to experiment with.
>>86762972Can you make actual stable solar systems with it though? The name tells me otherwise.
Is there one about dyson spheres?
>>86763752Oh, I’m seconding that. Megastructures are based.
>>86763752>>86766025well there was that one video game, i don't know how realistic it was though
>>86737670Does anyone have any generators or useful programs for creating space empires, or at least maps of their territories?
>>86771084Thanks anon. Does anyone have any others like these?
>>86737670What about good places for stock art of planets and solar systems?
>>86767535What was the name? Do you remember?
>>86785716dyson sphere something
>>86785803Did you mean this?
>>86763390oh yes, and it is fun and oddly addictive.
>>86793868Alright, thanks. Any advice for using it please?

>>86763752>>86766025>>86767535>>86785716Do you mean Stellaris with the Megastructure expansion perhaps?
>>86805085What evades me, however, is how to make visuals for landscapes and planets.I used pic related, macro shots of soap bubbles, a couple of times, for fun, but it only got me so far.I'm asking both for planets and landscapes. In the late 20th century I would have used Bryce 3D, a 3D program which was both very easy to use and pretty comprehensive and versatile. But I don't know if there's any equivalent program nowadays.
>>86805152With Bryce 3D you could do stuff like this within a few minutes. Not perfect, but pretty great for a tool from... like... 1998.I don't understand why there's such a shortage for easily accessible 3D design tools. It genuinely feel like the big software publishers are actively removing them. There was a great one on Ipad, 5-6 years ago, for designing creatures, that used the base of the Spore engine. It's been removed to merge it with the Adobe suit or something.
>>86760959>>86762972NTA, but do either of you have any advice for using these please? I want to know what I’m getting into if I get them? Thanks!

>>86805474Thanks for sharing these anon. How did you find them to begin with?
>>86805152use an AI image generator
>>86810395NTA, but do you have any in particular that you'd recommend?
>>86805379>I don't understand why there's such a shortage for easily accessible 3D design toolsThey've been bought up by large corporations that charge thousands of dollars to use them, or gone out of business. See Cinema4D which started as shareware.
I'll post what I have.
>>86805379Pretty much it's just time for you to go learn blender.
>>86819051>>86818837Thanks, Anon. Are you aware of anything similar that you don’t have?
>>86826000>Are you aware of anything similar that you don’t have? There's probably lot's of stuff like that donjon has some pretty good world map/planet generators.
Donjon has some pretty good generators:>https://donjon.bin.sh/scifi/world/>https://donjon.bin.sh/fantasy/world/>https://donjon.bin.sh/d20/dungeon/
>>86834975>>86834981What program did you use to make this?
>>86838920>What program did you use to make this?See:>>86834783 what program did you use to make yours?
>>86838989Don't know. I found it randomly online.
>>86842762>https://donjon.bin.sh/scifi/world/index.cgiThe sci fi version generator also adds to the world building of the world, and you can make a rotating globe GIF with it.
>>86844561Really? Nice! Anything I should know going in?
>>86846897It's really easy to use so not rly. Just go to town man, I guess the big flaw is that you can't post the planet GIF on 4chan because "the file is too big."
>>86847403That sucks. Why is the file limit size so low here again?
>>86834783Thanks anon. Can you please post what you’ve made with these?
See you guys next thread, thanks for all the links and resources!
